I gotta ask, am I the only writer who writers stories, just because they couldn’t find what they wanna read.

Like I wasn’t always a writer, I in fact wasn’t a huge fan of it, but I LOVE to read. But I eventually reached a point - especially in fanfic - where there were certain stories I wanted to read, but I couldn’t find/ran out of them, so I eventually got to a point where it was like: If I wanna read this, I gotta write it myself.

And that’s how I ended up writing, and now I can’t stop.

So is this just me, or are there other writers who had the same/similar origins?

The Red Bitch is Back (Laxus x Lucy)

Laxus walked along the canal that ran through Magnolia, making his way to the home of his girlfriend. Giving a tired sigh, he stuffed his hands into his pockets. He had gotten back from a long job with the Thunder Legion, only to get a mountain of paperwork to get thrown at him by his grandfather under the guise of preparing him for when he would take over the role of Guild Master once Makarov decided to retire. This, of course, was only partially true. The other part of the truth was so he could do something else that wasn't read complaint after complaint that was submitted by the Magic Council, among other such documents that had to be looked over and filled out. 

The Lightning Dragon Slayer was locked in his grandfather's office for an entire day. Now, he was finally free. Free to visit his beautiful girlfriend. It had been three months since they were last in each other's company, and he missed her greatly. He was eager to fall asleep in Lucy's bed, the smaller blonde secure in his arms. 

After several minutes of walking, he finally came to the familiar, pink building. He knocked on the door and waited for his girlfriend to answer. A few minutes passed with no answer. Laxus looked at the wooden door with a confused expression. Lucy had to be at home. She wasn't at the guild and anybody she would be out with was there. Where else could she be? Maybe she was taking a bath or was asleep. She could also be working on her novel. It wasn't uncommon for her to be oblivious to her surroundings whenever she was writing. 

Deciding that it wouldn't hurt to enter the apartment and see if she was inside, the dragon slayer reached into his pocket and pulled out a key, a duplicate of Lucy's house key. He inserted the blade of the key into the keyhole and turned it, opening the door after he heard a click. He then stepped into the building, passing through the runes that Freed had previously set up, making it so that the only people who could enter without Lucy's permission were Makarov and Laxus. 

The blonde man made his way into the main room, opening the door to find his girlfriend in bed, her back facing him. A smile made its way onto his face as he walked over, disposing of his coat by tossing it onto the couch. He leaned over the form of his girlfriend, expecting to see her peacefully sleeping. However, instead of one of his favorite sights, he found that Lucy was in a fetal position underneath her covers, her face twisted in what resembled pain. 

The smile that had graced Laxus' face fell into a worried frown as he sat on the edge of the bed and gently shook Lucy, asking, "Blondie, are you okay?" 

After several moments of no response, Lucy finally rolled over to look up at her boyfriend. Upon seeing the look of pain that remained on her face and the tears that pricked the corners of her eyes, threatening to fall, Laxus cupped her face with one hand and leaned closer to her, questioning as he tried to keep himself calm, "are you hurt? What happened, Lucy?" 

The celestial wizard rolled back over to continue laying on her side, resuming a fetal position. What happened? Why was Lucy like this? Did something happen? Did someone hurt her? Worry and anger overwhelmed Laxus as he continued to inquire, this time not bothering to hide his concern, "Lucy, what happened? Please, tell me." 

Finally, his girlfriend gave an answer. With a groan and some free tears, she muttered, "the red bitch is back." 

If Laxus wasn't a dragon slayer, then he would have not been able to hear her. By now, he knew what she meant by that line. Calming down with the knowledge that nobody had harmed her, he asked, "do you want anything? Medicine? Chocolate? Food? Water? Cuddles?" 

There were a few moments of silence before Lucy managed to utter, "pads."

Pads? Did she not have any? The dragon slayer voiced his question, "Blondie, have you just been free-bleeding this whole time?" 

When he received a pained nod as an answer, Laxus chuckled as he stood up, informing his girlfriend, "I'll go get some stuff. Be right back Blondie." He then pressed a kiss to her temple and left the apartment, making his way to buy whatever he thought Lucy would need. 

Laxus reentered the main room of Lucy's apartment, holding in one hand a couple of shopping bags and in the other, Lucy's favorite thing to eat when on her period, a strawberry milkshake and fettuccine alfredo with chicken. He set the bags, milkshake, and pasta on the table before looking through the bags for the menstrual pads. Once he took out the package, he walked over to Lucy and gently shook her, informing her with a soft tone that only she would ever hear from him, "I got you some pads. I'll put them in the bathroom and start a bath for you." 

Once he heard her grunt an answer, the Lightning Dragon Slayer made his way into the bathroom, setting the package of pads on the counter and turning the knob for hot water in the bathtub. Once the tub was filled with water that was bearably hot, he walked back to his girlfriend, gently shaking her again as he said, "the bath is ready. Do you want me to carry you to the bathroom?" He gave a slight chuckle at the half-joke. 

Lucy shook her head as she climbed out of the bed and ambled her way to the bathroom, all while giving slight groans of pain. Once the bathroom door closed, Laxus went about getting everything he had bought out of the bags. He set the pasta and milkshake on the bedside table, along with the pain medication. He also pulled out a heating pad, several bars of chocolate, and three new books. After he sat these items on the table, he checked the bed covers for any blood stains. Seeing none, which honestly surprised him, he sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for his girlfriend to finish her relaxing bath.

When the bathroom door opened again, Laxus looked to see his girlfriend, dressed in a new pair of pajamas and looking like she was miserable. The blonde man stood up and walked over to her, sweeping her into his arms bridal style. He allowed her to cuddle against his hard chest before he walked over to the bed and laid her on it. He then turned on the heating pad and laid it on her abdomen, followed up with the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and milkshake. 

He smiled upon seeing Lucy's face brighten at the sight of the food before she began eating. Once she was finished, she took some pain medication and settled into her bed. Laxus turned around to grab his coat when Lucy got his attention, "Sparky." 

He turned around to look at her, seeing that she had opened her arms to him as she continued, "cuddle me." 

Laxus chuckled as he grabbed his large coat. He then abided by his girlfriend by covering her with the coat, taking a few moments to watch her snuggle into it, before he climbed into the bed with her. He wrapped his arms securely around Lucy as she cuddled against his chest. The blonde woman reached up to peck him on the lips and murmured, "thank you." 

Laxus pulled her closer, smiling as he responded, "anything for you, Blondie." 

The couple then quickly fell asleep, cuddled together.

This is inspired by a small oneshot Pup wrote for me.

I'm a sucker for LaLu and the short oneshot that Pup sent me was too much of a good, angsty idea that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to write a oneshot about it. 

Now, it's been some time since I last watched Fairy Tail, so I may have gotten Laxus' motivation wrong.

You're Laxus! (Laxus x Lucy)

Lucy kneeled on the ground, smoke rising from her body as she panted and trembled. Her body was enveloped with pain from the strong lightning strike she had taken. The Thunder Palace lacrima were easy to break, but the resulting attack was no piece of cake to take. She looked over at Happy, seeing that he was laying on the ground, still alive as evidenced by his chest rising and falling. 

The celestial wizard gritted her teeth as she forced herself to her feet, her body screaming at herself to stop and rest. However, she had to get Magnolia's cathedral. She had to stop Laxus. She looked down at Happy and instructed him, "go find Erza or Gray." She then turned and took off for the old structure that sat in the center of the town. 

As she pushed herself further, memories of her relationship with Laxus flashed through her mind. She had met the dragon slayer several years ago when she was a child. Master Makarov had been attending to Guild Master-related business and had brought his young grandson along with him. At some point, Makarov and Jude had met and Jude had invited him to dinner. It was at this dinner that Lucy and Laxus met. 

Lucy smiled as she remembered how she and Laxus, who was just a few years old than her but still just as childish, had sneaked out of the dining room while the two old men were idly talking. The pair of children ran off to Lucy's bedroom where the girl showed him her two golden keys, which she inherited from her late mother. She remembered how Laxus marveled at her keys and then told her about Fairy Tail, diverting into stories about the various mages in his grandfather's guild. 

Lucy and Laxus had been sad when Makarov informed them that he and his grandson had to return to Magnolia, however, they quickly decided that they would meet whenever possible. Thus, from that day on, whenever Laxus was on a job nearby, he would take a few days to visit Lucy. Whenever Lucy was accompanying her father on business near the Fairy Tail guildhall, then she would send a letter to Laxus and they would meet at a cafe. It was unfortunate that Lucy's father forbade her from going to the guildhall. 

At every meeting, the pair of close friends would talk about all sorts of things, especially about Fairy Tail and the mages there. Lucy enjoyed listening to Laxus chatter about his guildmates, telling her about his friends Freed, Bixlow, and Evergreen, and even telling her about the new pest, Natsu, the stripper, Gray, and Mira's rival, Erza. 

However, as time passed, Laxus changed, and not for the better. Lucy watched with a frown as Laxus become crude and hateful toward his guildmates, whom he once spoke highly of. All he seemed to talk about was how weak Fairy Tail was becoming. The change was sudden, almost giving Lucy whiplash. It wasn't long after his drastic change that their meetings ended, not of Lucy's volition. It was Laxus who stopped their meetings, by never visiting her or responding to her letters. 

She was ecstatic to join Fairy Tail because not only did it mean freedom from her father and life as an heiress, but it also meant that she would be able to talk to Laxus and figure out what had happened. Turned out, that was an unreachable hope. She had only seen him a few times after she joined Fairy Tail, and each time, she was unable to speak to him. What especially hurt was that he never even gave her a second glance those few times they were in the guildhall at the same time. 

And then, there was his behavior during Fairy Tail's war with Phantom Lord. She remembered the way her heart seemed to break when she heard how he spoke about her. She couldn't lie, she was romantically interested in him and had been for some time. She still was, to her slight dismay. 

After his refusal to help, Lucy was angry. No. Not angry. She was furious. She was fuming. She was infuriated. She had spent days cursing his name, her friendship with him, and her feelings for him. She had spent days urging her feelings for him to evaporate like water when it's exposed to Natsu's flames. 

However, no such thing happened. She still loved him. She still wanted to continue their friendship, maybe even further their stalled relationship. But, more importantly, she wanted answers. She wanted answers for why he had changed and shunned her. She wanted the Laxus she knew back. She wanted her old friend back. She was going to get answers. She was going to get back her friend. She was determined. 

The searing pain that flowed through her body faded as Lucy pushed open the doors of the cathedral, finding that Natsu and Gajeel were laying on the damaged floor, stunned by too many lightning attacks. Laxus stood in the forefront, laughing at his defeated opponents. 

Lucy swallowed down the lump in her throat and made her way into the cathedral. As Laxus brought his hands up and prepared to cast a spell that Lucy knew she couldn't let him cast, the celestial wizard spoke up, "Laxus! Stop this!" 

Laxus stopped his spell-casting and looked up at her, his eyes widened and mouth slightly agape, seeming surprised to see her there. Lucy walked further into the building as she urged him with a strong voice, "you can't do this!" 

Laxus smirked at her, his hands still in their required position, and sneered, "don't you think you're in over your head, Blondie? I'm an S-Class mage, you know." 

Lucy grimaced at his condescending tone. It reminded her too much of the way her father would speak to her. She yelled back at him, "why are you doing this? There has to be a reason! What is it?" 

Laxus' smirk fell into a snarl. His response thundered through the damaged building, "why? Why? Because Fairy Tail has gotten weak! Because Makarov isn't fit to be Guild Master anymore! Because I'm a better option to lead the guild! Because I'm not just Makarov's grandson or Ivan's son!" 

So, that was the root problem. He was tired of being in Makarov's metaphorical shadow and wanted to be recognized for who he was: a strong wizard and capable Guild Master. He may be the former, but he most certainly was not the latter.

Lucy rooted herself to where she stood, hearing Natsu weakly urge her to leave, but not paying him any attention. Instead, she responded, her voice unwavering, "those problems can be solved without this! The solutions you are seeking can be peaceful!" Knowing that she had to reach the kind part of him, she continued before the dragon slayer in front of her could speak, "what happened to the Laxus I was friends with? What happened to the guy who could never say something bad about his guildmates?" 

Laxus barked, "Blondie!" It was a clear warning, one that Lucy was not going to heed. 

"What happened to the Laxus who always defended me from perverts? What happened to the Laxus who always had to help when someone was struggling with boxes? What happened to the Laxus who turned my dreams of joining Fairy Tail into goals? What happened to him?" 

"Blondie!" His voice was dangerously low, sounding like a last warning. 

Lucy stopped talking, waiting for the blonde man in front of her to properly respond. Laxus growled at her before he bit out, "that's in the past! It doesn't matter!" He then gave a chilling chuckle and continued, "I don't give a shit about you. Why should I? You're weak! Too weak to join my Fairy Tail!" 

Lucy's heart twisted painfully at that. Nevertheless, she pushed on, "that's not true." It was a simple claim, one that she didn't entirely believe herself. She knew that in this situation, she had to hope that she was right. 

Laxus snapped, "I've always hated you! I hated you then and I hate you now!" 

Lucy snapped back, "that's fine! Hate me!" 

Tears slipped down her cheeks. She hissed at herself for allowing him to see her cry. She quickly wiped the tears away, only for new streams to form. Quickly deciding to ignore the two rivers of tears that flowed down her cheeks, she continued to preach, "I wish I could hate you back! You can't comprehend the amount of anger you have caused me! You left me when I needed your support most! You didn't come when I needed your help! You turned your back on years of friendship with me! And for what reason? Because you're upset that not enough people are singing you praises? Because you have placed yourself in your grandfather's shadow? Because you have a narrow view of strength? Because you would rather have a temper tantrum than solve these problems in a mature and adult way?" 

She paused for a moment, allowing her words to sink into Laxus' thick skull and reach his brain. She then continued, "all you have done is make both your guildmates and the innocent people of Magnolia fear you! You have made your loving grandfather sad! You have forced your closest friends to do something that they didn't want to do! You have hurt your guildmates! You have proven that you are far too immature and volatile to be Guild Master! You have done the exact opposite of what you had set out to do!"

She paused again to catch her breath before going on, "you aren't just Master Makarov's grandson! You aren't just Ivan's son! You are Laxus! Laxus Dreyer! The only person who is putting you in someone else’s shadow is you! You aren't the only one with issues! My father neglected me! He tried to force me into marriage with some fat and perverted duke! But you don't see me going on a murderous rampage, do you? There are better, more peaceful ways to resolve your issues! This is not one of those ways!" 

She dared to get closer to the man in front of her, forcing herself to walk toward him before she stood right in front of him. She then took his hands into hers and looked up at him with a teary, kind smile on her face. She took a moment to observe the way he was staring at her, his eyes wide and his smirk no longer on his face. He was clearly taken off guard. 

Lucy went on, her voice a bit softer, but still strong enough to make sure that the dragon slayer didn't try to interrupted her, "I should hate you. I should despise you. But I don't. Laxus, I love you. I've always loved you. But, I don't love this version of you. I love the version of you that I knew before I joined Fairy Tail. I love the version of you that I considered not just my best friend but also my first friend. I want that version of you back. I love you. That's why I can't let you continue down this path." 

She sniffled a few times, tears still streaming down her face. Her legs trembled, threatening to give way under her, but she continued to stand. She forced herself to remain where she stood, staring up at the man who she loved and was pleading with. 

She watched Laxus' face in silence, waiting for him to say something, anything. But, he didn't. Instead, tears welled up in his stormy blue eyes before spilling over. Laxus ripped his hands out of Lucy's and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her against his bare chest. The two mages unraveled into silent tears as they clinged to each other, both dropping to their knees. 

It was after several minutes of silently crying and tightening their grips that Lucy finally heard Laxus' whispered response.

"I love you too, Blondie. I’m sorry."
