This thing is awesome, it's surrounded by a nanite swarm that looks like fire and it can repair itself. Unstoppable hellish machines are very butch in my opinion and I need to play one of them at some point. Also it's very intimidating and has a whip, which I'm sure I don't need to explain.

Random Lancer thoughts

Congratulations, y'all get to be the newest iteration of a text file on my desktop/a private Google doc for my unhinged ramblings that may, at some misty point in the far future, become a character. This time, Lancer-specific thoughts.

A Lancaster with Hydra licenses, because if you're already pulling spare parts off yourself and flinging them at allies, you may as well pull your arms off and throw them at enemies too. Probably needs a GMS extra weapon slot to really work. Can you take those repeatedly? It doesn't say. *checks* Dang, and you can't use the later weapons, although the drone systems are fair game.

I've seen a few things about lancers coming out of their mechs and being dysmorphic in their meat body. Some great stuff, but mostly I think of a Barbarossa pilot looking around carefully to make sure he's not about to sit on anyone. And a Goblin pilot that's mostly fine still, but keeps trying to get piggyback rides.

Although, since I have a hypothetical audience here, I can ask questions, too. So, is there anything good about an Overkill weapon? There's the specific one that adds 1d6 damage whenever it triggers, but the basic Overkill rules just seem lethal to the user and no one else. Roll a 1, take heat, roll again. If it's another 1, take more heat, repeat. With an incredible run of bad luck you could wind up exploding for absolutely no benefit. I feel like I'm missing something, because the rest of the rules don't have obvious trap options like that. Like, if you add the 1 to your damage and then reroll, that would make more sense, but the rules don't say that's what happens, and it's still not great because you're trading heat for damage 1-to-1 and that's a bad trade.

I hope more HORUS alt frames are rolled out in upcoming modules. The only one we have so far (if I'm not mistaken) is the Calendula. HORUS, though, should theoretically have the MOST alt frames.

They're a decentralized conglomerate of digital anarchists, not only should they be modding each other's shit nonstop, but any opportunistic corporation would absolutely be capitalizing on their lack of copyright to make their own specialized frames.

Some ideas:

A HA frame based on the Gorgon that can fire a superheavy once a round as a reaction. Its core power lets it do this three times a round

An SSC skunkworks project cannibalized a Hydra for aerial superiority. It has a trait that lets it move a drone every time its effect activates or its used for a nexus attack, and its core system is a trait that allows it to gain evasion while its in the air every time a drone moves. Its core power allows it to spread this movement to every drone for insane repositioning and area denial potential.

A Manticore repurposed by the Albatross to turn heat into overshield for allies. Its core power is a protocol that makes enemies take damage every time they start with or adjacent to a source with overshield.

Any other suggestions?

Hello, I need help with a problem regarding my Hydra.

I know that Horus stuff is as non-standard as it gets, but @horus-unofficial isn't responding; and all the individual drones are , from a hardware standpoint at least, perfectly normal.

My problem is specifically with the Ghast Drone/Nexus: see, I have an automatic fire control module which automatically triggers the weapon it's applied to whenever an Unobstucted target is hit by another weapon.

It has worked flawlessly with every other weapon I have applied it to, and even on other Nexus weapons of the Hydra it works just as well.

The problem comes up when I deploy the Ghast Nexus as a drone: keeps using the targeting sensor of my own mech instead of the drone's; it could be right up against the target's back, but if my mech itself does not have a fully unobstructed view if it, the weapon won't fire.

What do?

This one seems like a fairly classical case of a broken wire somewhere. Check the interface coupling's connections, and if not those, crush the drone in a hydraulic press to trigger its self-repair protocols.
