Rules are the same as usual

Louis Tomlinson has dropped a surprise new album, ‘LIVE’.

The release – out digitally now, with physical versions following on 23rd August – features 15 songs, each recorded in a different city during his last few years of touring.

Louis says: “I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 3 years touring the world twice over. The feeling I get sharing those live moments will be with me forever. To be able to record these songs from all over the world and put them out as an album like this feels so special, and a real tribute to the fans who make each and every show feel unique and incredible. Thank you! Enjoy!”

There are four exclusive tracks split between the physical editions of ‘LIVE’, including a special version of One Direction’s ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’.

As Catfish would say, back to the grind again. I’ve stopped losing again and maintained at 75.7kg for the last 2-3 days, I’m hoping it’ll start dropping again slowly as I’d like to be at 75.2 by the 1st! I guess we’ll wait and see.

Edit- forgot it was date night lols, so I went to the cinema and we shared a popcorn but girl, nearly 300 for some heated kernels with salt on?!? Popcorn was my safe food but DAMN that hurt.

Kaiju Week in Review (February 25-March 2, 2024)

Brush of the God is finally out in the world, having premiered at the Osaka Asian Film Festival on March 2. Above is the most recent trailer, looking as impressive as ever. A more complete cast list is out too—Yumiko Shaku, Takumi Saitoh, Shiro Sano, and Shinji Higuchi are all in it. Haven't seen any reviews in English yet, but I suspect it's something special.

Lots of comic news this week, but I'm giving Godzilla: War for Humanity #4 its own section because it continues to be so stellar. In the penultimate issue, Godzilla finally comes face-to-face with Zoospora—with the odds now thoroughly stacked against him. Ends on a great cliffhanger, with emotional catharsis reached but a world-class kaiju still left to beat.

Every Monsterverse film has an obligatory graphic novel tie-in, and they've never felt more obligatory than Godzilla x Kong: The Hunted. Kong has the A-plot, taking on the Titan Hunter, a mech piloted by the owner of a construction company who (surprise!) lost his family in 2014. It's pretty amusing watching him get high on his own supply fighting second-rate Titans before an unarmed Kong dismantles him, but the character is just too generic. Godzilla's B-plot is just a protracted setup for the film. (I'm keeping my description vague because the identity of his Titan opponent hasn't been revealed in GxK's marketing yet.) I hope this is Brian Buccellato's last time writing Godzilla, as Fight or Flight and the first five issues of Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong weren't much better, but I probably shouldn't be optimistic. Zid's art is unsurprisingly the highlight, though he's sharing space with Dario Formisani and Drew Johnson. Some stunningly bad scaling and weird-looking Godzillas on those pages. Note that the comic is only (officially) available to backers of the hardcover edition on Kickstarter right now; the paperback edition comes out on March 26, a few days before Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Titanic Creations has released a cover for their Gorgo Legacy graphic novel (amusingly Approved by the Monster Code Authority). It's written by Mac McClintock and Patrick McEvoy, with the latter also illustrating, and will be 60 pages long. Releases summer 2024, with plans for two more.

Volume 7 of Kaiju Girl Caramelise also released last week, and while I was hoping to share my thoughts on it, none of my local libraries have stocked it yet. So here's a simple reminder that it exists.

Netflix's Ultraman: Rising now has a poster and a June 14 release date. S.H. FigureArts and Movie Monster Series figures for the film have also been revealed.

Gameplay videos for Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers are starting to show up on YouTube, courtesy of early-access invites going out. Reminds me of that Avengers Alliance game I played for all of a week. And a new month means new Godzilla Battle Line characters; this time it's GMK King Ghidorah and a Biollante variant. They're also overhauling All-Star Battle Mode later this month, letting you chose 50 units to deploy against the CPU (so less underleveled four-stars and other chaff ruining your runs).

Being the new girl at Hogwarts has its ups and downs. The ups include my new best friend. The downs? Well, that’s everything else.

It was lunchtime, and I was eating and minding my own business, reading the Daily Prophet. I was having a calm, peaceful time—until something hit my head.

I turned to see what had dropped on my table and discovered it was the end piece of a sausage. My eyes followed its trajectory and landed on Theo Nott, whose smirk was as big as his group of howling friends.

“Hey, Y/N, you should come to my game,” he said, taking another bite of sausage.

I leaned forward and looked at Enzo. “Your brother’s a dick.”

“Step. Stepbrother,” Enzo corrected, rubbing his temples. “But you should actually come to one of our games for once.”

Enzo had been my best friend since I moved to this school, helping me with my schedule and other school activities. His stepbrother, however, had been nothing but a pain in the ass.

“C’mon, darling, come watch me play,” Theo smirked, and I rolled my eyes. Theo was always flirty with me. Occasionally, it was fun to flirt back, especially when his friends teased him for blushing. But I had no attraction toward Theodore Nott and his methods of getting girls.

“If I go, will you win? Or will I just distract you the whole time?” I teased, looking up to see Enzo’s reaction.

I could never read Enzo’s reactions. He was the opposite of Theo, and it was a good thing they weren’t blood-related.

“Come to my game, love! Maybe you can meet me in the locker room after I win!” Theo hollered from down the table, earning high-fives and pats on the back from his friends.

“He’s a sick fuck,” Enzo muttered. “I’m so sorry for him.”

He was genuine. His eyes were soft, and his expression showed he truly cared. He was nothing like his stepbrother.

“Don’t apologize for him.” I rubbed his hand, reassuring him that I wasn’t bothered. “Your brother can beg all he bloody wants, but I’m not going to listen.” I stood up and made my way to my last two classes of the day. I walked down the long, stone-cold halls, students bustling everywhere, their footsteps echoing around me.

My mind was set on heading to class a little early to talk about my grades, but that changed when someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me to a secluded area.

“Let go,” I said, pulling my wrist away, but they trapped me against the wall.

“Y/N, love, meet me at the rink,” Theo demanded. His tall, strong body trapped me, preventing any escape.

“Are you serious, Theo? I have to meet Professor Trelawney,” I groaned, trying to push past him, but he didn’t budge.

He sucked his teeth, looking down at me, biting his nails. “You’re so pretty,” he murmured, his finger grazing my jaw. I flinched at his cold touch.

“Theo, I really—”

He exhaled heavily. “I would really like it if you came to my game tonight.” He stood up straight, clearly trying to control his temper.

“Okay,” I whispered, seeing no other way out of the situation.

“Really?” His eyes brightened. I felt a twinge of guilt, but his previous comments lingered in my mind.

“Yes, Theo. Now please, I have to meet my professor.” He nodded with a smile and finally let me go.

Once I was in the clear, I took several deep breaths, trying to slow my heart rate. I pinched myself, hoping it was just a dream, but it wasn’t.

It was time for the hockey game. I had told Enzo I wasn’t going, but I had also told Theo I would. I didn’t know what Theo might do if I lied, so I decided to save myself the trouble.

I dressed warmly and walked to the rink. Both teams were warming up on the ice, their jerseys and pads a blur of motion. I found some friends and sat with them on the bleachers, chatting about who might win and who they would date on each team.

“To be honest, I’d take Theo,” one of my friends squealed, ogling him.

I scoffed. “Okay, Y/N, if not Theo, then who?” they asked.

“She would pick Enzo,” Pansy’s annoying voice shrieked from behind me.

“Oh, shut it, would you?” I snapped as the game began.

Everyone either thought I was with Theo or Enzo. I was always stuck between them when it came to rumors about my relationships.

I wouldn’t hate to be with Enzo. Actually, I’d love it, but I didn’t know Enzo’s opinion on that.

It was halftime, and the team captains were talking among their teams. I walked over the bleachers and made my way to the gate where they entered the ice.

“Psst, Enzo!” I called loudly over the rink’s music.

He turned around, his eyes lighting up. He took off his helmet, spat out his mouth guard, and skated toward me.

“What are you doing here?” he asked, out of breath. His hair stuck to his forehead, and his nostrils flared.

“I know I said I wouldn’t come because of Theo, but you asked me to come too,” I smiled up at him. He towered over me, even without his skates.

“Y/N!” Theo cheered from behind Enzo, skating up to us. “You came!”

I hummed a yes and stayed quiet. Enzo smiled at me, knowing I didn’t like Theo or his presence.

Theo rolled his eyes and skated back to the team when they called him over.

“So, kitchen after the game?” Enzo asked, leaning over the gate, trying to get closer to me.

I stepped closer, our chests just barely touching. My neck craned up to look at him with a big smile, my cheeks rosy, my stomach full of butterflies.

“Yeah, kitchen,” I agreed. “I’ll meet you?”

“Um, outside the locker room?” he pointed to the door where we should meet. I nodded and wished him good luck for the rest of the game. I ran back to the bleachers where my friends started asking questions.

“Well, that was, um... intimate,” one of them giggled.

“We’re just best friends,” I told them, trying to calm myself from all the smiling.

“Seems a little more than that. Theo looked like he was getting jealous,” they joked and laughed.

Enzo scored the winning shot, and the team erupted in cheers. Draco and Blaise sprayed him with water in celebration. I rooted for him, chanting his name along with everyone else.

Afterward, Enzo went into the locker room with the team for a meeting and to freshen up. I stood outside, waiting, having small conversations with those I knew who passed by.

“Look at you. You really waited,” Enzo said, leaning against the wall next to me.

“Why wouldn’t I wait?” I joked. “You did really well today. Congrats!” I patted his chest. He was now wearing a grey hoodie and some sweats, obviously having showered.

“I think you’re my good luck charm.” He stepped closer, closing the space between us.

My heart pounded in my chest. “Am I really?” I lifted my eyebrows at him.

“Yeah,” he nodded, bringing his face down to mine. “I really think so.” He connected our lips, his hands on my hips. His lips were a little chapped from the cold, but his warm breath fanned over my face.

“Y/N?” Theo’s voice interrupted.

Enzo and I pulled apart to look at him.

“You said—”

“I didn’t say anything, Theo.”

“You came to the game for me.” His eyebrows furrowed in anger, his nose flared, and his eyes darkened.

“No, you trapped me and begged. I came for Enzo.” I grabbed Enzo’s wrist and pulled him with me, heading back to the school.

We left Theo dumbfounded and mad. I was lucky he didn’t do any harm.

“He trapped you?” Enzo asked, his voice full of concern.

“Well, yeah, but he would never hurt me.” I looked back at him, and he nodded in agreement.

2024 Watch List pt1

Here we go again!

To sir, with love - This is a lakorn so it's appropriately dramatic. The mothers are absolutely foul and do an awful lot of scheming and yelling. Jam/Film are intensely watchable and make wet fish kisses look terribly romantic. Tongtong Kitsakorn as Yang was a revelation. I'm sad he's pm just a lakorn actor/pop star because he is so watchable. I loved that, though they were evil and insane, the mothers all felt fleshed out and realised. You understood why they were yikes. 3½/5 (2/1/23)

A Boss & a Babe - I quit this at episode 2 and then decided to go back to it. I don’t regret doing so. This isn’t top tier but it’s also not shit tier. Cher, the very dictionary definition of toxic positivity, and Gun, an autism coded cat man, enter into an extremely quick romance (like seriously, it’s taken hard worn lesbians longer to say I love you) the catch being they’re intern and company boss. Honestly in another drama that would have been the the huge hiccup of the series, keeping them apart, but it’s consistently shown to be more of an issue for others that it is for them. This is very low conflict, mostly romcom fluff with two weirdly intense, barely explored side stories for support characters. I didn’t loath Force in this and would actually like him to be given more roles where he’s just a soft simp and not a boring sarcastic one. Book does some good comedy work here. 3/5 (4/1/23)

The day I loved you - I know this won’t work for everyone. It’s a bittersweet ten episode love story between a boy with ASL and the ‘rebel’ exchange student at his school. Pinoy BL, for me, either really hits or really misses and this hit. It does use a questionable model of disability, namely the inspiration model, but I cant nit pick too much when this is only ten 15/20 minute episodes. I enjoyed it a lot, you may also if you’re okay with a bittersweet ending vs an out and out happy one. 3½/5 (12/1/24)

VIP Only - Well this was adorable. Slow as molasses and just as sweet. This probably won’t be for everyone, very slow and not much happens other than character growth and a love story, but it worked for me. The edit is horrendous in places and I do wish Taiwan did longer episodes, but those are my only gripes. 3½/5 (19/1/24)

I cannot reach you - I don’t really watch Jbl. There are just styles and tropes that I don’t enjoy watching that Japan uses a lot of. It’s a taste thing more than it is anything else. So keep that in mind. This is full of a lot of the things I don’t like; over action, randomly running everywhere, sudden non-con. But it’s also endearingly sweet and very well acted, so I did find myself enjoying it. I don’t think this’ll awaken a desire to watch lots of Jbl but it has made me consider some others. 3/5 (20/1/24)

Last Twilight - I had a lot of fun with this. The dialogue and acting were all top notch and, as ever with Aof productions, it was stunning to look at. It weaves the story of two broken people healing one another very well with Jimmy & Sea doing beautiful work as Mhok & Day. I think this came a little unstuck at points in the end. I liked most of the romance movie style ending but I remain a little unsure about Day’s ending. Still, this is a show that I enjoyed every week and will have no issues rewatching. 4/5 (26/1/24)

Old Fashion Cupcake - I’m working on trying out more JBL to get a feel for what I do and don’t like. This? This I like. We don’t have enough stories about older people anyway and this does it well. Togawa’s slow courting of Nozue through shared experiences and casual intimacy is delicious to watch. 4/5 (4/2/24)

Pit Babe - I love when I show wholly knows what it is and doesn’t try and be anything but that. This knew it was a big ol’ fanfic and leaned wholeheartedly into that. Whether it was the breeding program subplot or the consistently dumb toothpaste and sausage ppl it handled them both with equal aplomb. It’s also worth noting that was largely really well acted too! Pavel, Nut & Sailub particularly impressed me but there was nobody bad. 4/5 (9/2/24)

Our Dining Table - My journey into JBL continues and this was the best one yet. Soft pining between two sad boy leads with a gorgeous found family story woven in. The treacle slow courting between these two won’t be for everyone but it was wholly for me. 5/5 (17/2/24)

Cooking Crush - The edit on this was criminally bad at points, sometimes I truly felt I’d skipped a part and I hadn’t at all, but it still served up a good little story. If you’re visiting this for the romance it’s not really that, the story is in the friends and their lives more than it is in Ten & Prem’s romance. I loved the comedy in this, it hit those notes well and was never over the top. (Lots of puns that I expect are super good if you speak Thai.) Nobody is bad in this, everyone delivers, but OffGun are as watchable as they always are and the few kisses they do have are perfect. 3/5 (18/2/24)

The Novelist - When I say I don’t love JBL it’s usually because the tropes are just too tropey for my tastes. Apparently I’m a lying liar who lies because this is extremely Japanese and I loved every moody second of it. Kijima is a sad, lonely, messed up man who doesn’t think he’s deserving of anything good and it’s wildly compelling to watch. 4/5 (18/2/24)

Mood Indigo - Fucked up 4 Fucked up. Two broken, sad, lonely men mess up repeatedly, and erotically, that’s it that’s the show and I ate it up with a spoon. Deeply flawed assholes being toxic together, when it’s well written and well acted, is so disgustingly watchable to me and this certainly was. 5/5 (18/2/24)

The Novelist: Playback - Continues where The Novelist ends. I watched the clean version of this, it was what was available to me, and was still deeply entertained. So if you think people watch this series for the heat then you’re incorrect. This is another instalment of Kijima Rio being a horribly broken fuck up of a man. I loved it. 4/5 (21/2/24)

Tokyo in April is… - I love a good destined to be together trope when it’s done well and this is done beautifully. Kazuma and Ren fall in love as teenagers and are separated before finding one another again as adults. The pacing on this is a little rough, I get what they were doing with the sub-plot but it felt mildly unneeded and time would have been better given to exploring our leads generally or even Ren’s painful family issues. This is still a lovely drama that I wholly recommend. 4/5 (21/2/24)

Rebjukebox 2024 - No 1

Here's my first playlist for 2024, it's not gonna be a monthly thing, just once i have 40 tracks i like, then i will share it. So could be one or two or even three in one month and other months maybe none, this is why it's numbered. I am already close to No 2 being finished, cover done, just need to cut down to 40 tracks from the 80+ tracks in the provisional draft playlist. So could share this next week!! These playlists are great way to find new bands and artists and saves us having to post each on sepearatly.

I used to do these just through Soundcloud, but thought i might as well add it to my Spotify also. So i will add two links to the playlist and can use which ever one you prefer.

hi lovelies!! (figured out how to do a color gradient, took me weeks, i'm fucking thrilled, expect more of that nonsense in this post lol)

it's mid november and as the year comes to a close i'd like to wrap up a lot of stuff so here's the plan :

NOV 12 : BKS 26 : crucifixion (currently being edited will be out by tonight.)

NOV 12-19 : BKS 27 : the apostate (will be released at some point here, it's gonna be on the shorter side so it shouldn't take too long

NOV 25 : Oh Honey, Chapter Four : painting the roses red (another long chap, gonna need some time to get this one out so at the latest it will be out on the 25th!!)

The First Week of December will be my 1,000 follower celebration, I'm going to be doing a week of Best Kept Secret content leading up to the final BKS chapter !! (this will include the release of my 500 follower celebration whoops)

Best Kept Secret Week :

DEC 1 : BKS 28 : a place for us (the technical final chapter of BKS)

DEC 2 : BKS Q&A (gonna ask for questions at some point here i'll make a post and answer any final questions about bks!!)

DEC 3 : Bound in Beskar - 500 follower celebration (a one off based on the book princess reads in bks)

DEC 4 : BKS what ifs (it's 8 days of stuff they can't all be hits. tbh i needed a day filler and i've got a lot of alternative story lines in bks so fuck it, i'll talk about those here)

DEC 5 : Best Kept Secret Art!! (i commissioned three artists to illustrate some of my favorite scenes bc i'm a sap so i will be posting all of that on this day and i'm so excited for y'all to see it!! they're wonderful artists and they've done wonderful work so far <3)

DEC 6 : Secrets Best Kept - 1,000 follower celebration (a one off where Din Djarin is the new reluctant ruler of Mandalore, a tutor is hired to help him during his early days as a ruler to learn proper etiquette for royalty)

DEC 7 : A love letter to Best Kept Secret. (pretty much just gonna be one last corny post to thank everyone for reading)

DEC 8 : BKS 29 : the best kept secret (epilogue) (corny ass name ik, anyhow, this will be it!! this will be the last main update of best kept secret!!)

DEC 16 : Oh Honey, Chapter Five : a very merry unbirthday (this will be the last chapter of oh honey!! i've always intended for this to be a short form story so it will be wrapped up at the latest by the 16th!!)

DEC 24 : Best Kept Christmas (gonna sneak one last good bye to bks in at the end of the month with a christmas special lol)

and then i will be taking the last week of december to write my next fics! rest!

so yeah lol, my goal is to wrap up all ongoing fics this year but but but if you made it this far (i love you *mwah*) here's some of the fics coming in 2024!! i won't be starting anything new this year but next year i've got big plans >:)

Then & Now (probs gonna change that title) - this will be my main fic for a bit, i've been itching to start this for so so long, f!reader x joel. definitely gonna be more on the angsty side

i'm participating in pmamc 2024 so there will be an Oberyn one off in January!!

Andromeda - this is gonna be my next din x reader !! i don't have much other than the base idea but im gonna keep that a surprise haha

And plenty of other stuff i'll figure out lol
