Timeless Wells (Flash) Soldier- Chapter 25

Work has continued. He can’t seem to fight the smile. Last night was single handedly one of the best nights of his life. You were safe, and finally his. His eyes drift over his desk. Just waiting.

The door to his office opens, and he doesn’t even try to hide his grin.

“Punctual as always.”

You raise a brow.

“How did you know I was coming?”

“Intuition.”

You just fold your arms.

“Just because I’m no longer working for you it doesn’t mean I’ll stop protecting you.”

Harrison’s grin widens.

“One could argue that you’re obsessed with me.”

“Don’t push it.”

“I would never.”

He’s still so annoyingly cheerful. He steps closer, leaning down and leaving a kiss on your cheek. Your arms lower slowly.

For a moment you just stare at him. You’re still not used to the fact that he’s actually yours. That the both of you are really doing this. He looks a little unsure when he takes in your distant look. His hands drop to his side.

“If I do anything unwanted, then please let me know.”

Maybe the both of you should have laid out ground rules.

This was all still new. The last thing he wanted to do was be too forward and make you question this relationship. He’s a naturally affectionate person. But you’ve never been exposed to it the same. This was uncharted territory.

“Nothing you do could ever be unwanted.”

Your statement, topped with the dazed look on your face is his undoing. Harrison takes a breath.

“Noted.”

His voice is a bit unsteady.

You want him to kiss you, you really do. But you’re not quite sure how to approach the topic. It’s hard to ask. Your experience in relationships has been a bit limited.

What you have with Harrison, it’s special.

“You..can do whatever feels right.” You encourage.

“You shouldn’t be so vague with your words, I might get the wrong idea.”

It doesn’t fully process until you see that look.

“I..I.”

What do you do in this situation? You’re so inexperienced it’s not even funny. He backs you up, and the back of your knee hits his desk. You reach back a bit clumsily.

“S-Sir!”

“I’ve always liked it when you called me sir.”

He says sultrily, and you feel as though your heart is racing a bit too quickly.

“Open your legs.” 

He coaxes.

You’d completely underestimated this man. You took his cheerfulness as innocence. You nod slowly, obeying willingly. Harrison slips right between your legs, and he slides a few of his items off the desk to make space for you. Lifting you easily, he plants you right there. Now fully seated on the top, he kisses you. You grip at his shirt, welcoming the needy touches, kisses.

You’re giving off just as much as he is. His hands run down your back, to your waist. You can barely get a single thought out. You start tugging at his jacket in hopes that he’ll get the idea. He nods, sliding it off without breaking the kiss.

What makes you both pull apart is the green light that fills the room.

Harrison steps back, and you look down at the green suit that has materialized.

“S-Shit!!”

You’re thankful that Harrison’s office isn’t transparent for many reasons.

“D-Damn it! Disappear, you dumb suit!!”

You shake your hands in hopes that it’ll retract. Harrison gapes.

“You’re a lantern..”

You laugh awkwardly.

That night you didn’t exactly have a chance to go over the whole superpower situation.

“It happened when Justin attacked. There’s a lot more to the story than that. I-I don’t know why it just appeared though. It should only come out when I’m in trouble. Isn’t that how it works in the movies?!”

Harrison is chuckling.

“It's clear you did not learn that much about these powers. The green of your lantern represents your will. That’s where the powers come from. In a lot of ways, I suppose it reacts to your emotions.”

That does make more sense.

If that’s the case then will you have to worry about it popping up whenever you’re excited.

You blush at the revelation.

“This is embarrassing.”

Harrison’s smile hasn’t left.

“It’s kind of endearing actually. Sexy even.”

The light at the center of your chest glows just a little bit brighter and you groan.

“Please stop.”

His laughter rings throughout the room.

HR Wells (Flash) Chapter 19- Final

Getting back to your apartment that night, you have a lot to think about. You cast your gaze to HR.

“Are you getting the hang of it?”

You’ve just stepped inside. HR has slipped on the ring, but he still looks like he’s trying to figure it out.

“I haven’t been able to materialize a suit.” You giggle.

“You’ll get there. It takes time.”

Yours came from the need to protect. When the time was right, so would HR’s.

“HR, thank you.”

He stops his little survey on the ring, now focused on you.

“If I’m being honest, the last thing I wanted to do is run off to fight in some war. Before I met you I guess I got used to being alone. The pain I carried with me after Eobard hurt us..it consumed me. I made sure to keep myself separated. Even when I was a part of Team Flash, I wasn’t. Not really. Then you came and..everything changed. I guess I just wanted to have this happiness for as long as I could. Even if it meant that there was a chance I wouldn’t come back.”

His eyes hold so much pain just at the mention.

“If I were to lose you I..that would break me. I know that for you it’s exactly the same. Selfishly I wanted to be the one giving a sacrifice, rather than losing it this time around.”

“Nothing is going to happen to you.”

There’s not a speck of doubt in his words.

“To either of us. We’ll stop this war and come back stronger than ever. I believe that.” He takes your hand, leaving a kiss on your knuckles. You smile.

“So do I.”

HR looks a bit more reassured.

There’s no guarantee what the future is going to hold. But you know as long as you have HR, then it would be much easier to handle.

You’re fortunate.

The next morning is nothing but goodbyes.

Team Flash is situated in the cortex, and Cisco has already opened the portal. Your suit is shining in the room.

“I can’t believe you’re leaving us. I’m used to you taking trips. But this time feels like goodbye.” Barry says. You can only offer a smile.

“I’m going to be back as soon as I can, and I won’t be alone.” You look over at HR who’s standing right by your side. Harry takes a step forward.

“Please come back safely.”

When you both first met, it was a little messy for obvious reasons. His personality was hard to get used to sometimes. But the both of you had gotten close. All of the people that stood here, they were your family.

“I’ll do my best.”

He pulls you into a hug, and you do your best not to let the tears flow.

“I love you (Y/N).”He says.

The words are like the breaking point, and you squeeze him tighter.

“I love you too Harry. I love all of you so much.”

It’s never been easy. Bouncing back from Eobard’s betrayal. But his wounds had left a lot of room for you to grow. To love. When you pull back, Harry wipes your cheeks with a smile, leaving a kiss on your forehead. Of course the rest of Team Flash can’t resist.

“Group hug!!”

HR yells.

Everyone laughs, joining in.

It’s incredible how far you’ve come.

When you pull back, you take HR’s hand and you both step towards the breech.

“Until next time.” HR salutes.

Barry and the others wave. Cisco is wagging his lollipop. Harry adjusts his glasses and both Caitlin and Iris are wiping at their eyes. You give HR one last look as you both step inside.

You aren’t sure what’s waiting for you on the other side.

But, you have someone explore this new adventure.

That’s all you need.
