"Victoria and I are having a party this weekend!"

"Wow, this is a rare occurrence. What's the occasion?" you tease from your usual spot on the bench in the park.

"It's… a little different than our usual affairs."

"How so?" He has your attention now.

"It's a snugglepupping party!" he announces with glee, which he quickly tries to reign in.

"A what?" Did he just say snugglepupping? You are far too old for this constantly evolving slang.

"It's all the rage in America!" he explains. "They also call them petting parties. It was originally going to be just a pajama party, then I saw the word in an article about out of control youth, and we thought it would be fun to combine them into a Snugglepupping Pajama Party!"

"That sounds… very calm for you and Victoria."

"I mean, snuggling is the general idea, but it can… go… further?" He finishes with a wince.

"Hm."

"But it doesn't have to!"

"I see."

"Wouldyouliketocome?" he asks through one squinted eye.

You raise an eyebrow, and he sighs.

"Would you like to come?"

"Sure, what time shall I have my mother escort me over to the unsupervised petting party with my fiancé and a hundred of his loosest friends?" you ask with a laugh.

"I have a plan for that!" Ralph reaches into his pocket and pulls out an invitation addressed to you, from Victoria… to a pajama party for all her girlfriends.

You tilt your head to the side, deep in thought. "You know, that might actually work."

"So you'll come?" he practically squeals.

Chewing on your bottom lip, you weighed your options. On one hand, you'd get to spend more time with Ralph. At a proper Penbury party. The stuff of legend. On the other hand, it would be full of people. And Victoria. And while your invitation was a nice touch, and wasn't technically a lie - Victoria's girlfriends would be in attendance - your mother would surely murder you all in a most gruesome fashion if she ever found out. That settles it.

"Alright," you said, trying to sound as excited as Ralph looked.

"Wondrous!" Ralph claps his hands together and leans forward to capture your lips in a kiss. You want to be excited, but you can't help but notice an uneasy feeling settling in the pit of your stomach.

"Victoria Penbury is having a pajama party this weekend."

"Oh?" your mother asks, uninterested, not looking up from her breakfast. You never thought you'd be grateful for her to start talking to you again.

"I think I'd like to go. Get better acquainted with my future sister-in-law."

"Were you invited?" No, mother, I'm inviting myself to a party, my favorite thing in the world. You show her the invitation.

"I used to throw pajama parties for you." She hands the invitation back with a hard look. "Do you remember why that stopped?"

"Because ten year old girls are annoying?"

"Because every time I came in to check on you, you'd abandoned all your guests to go read alone in the library."

"As I said, ten year old girls are annoying."

"They were your guests."

"I didn't invite them."

Your mother purses her lips and fixes you with her best stare.

"Why are you suddenly interested in attending a pajama party?"

"Because Victoria is going to be my sister-in-law, and I barely know her or her friends."

Your mother takes a bite and chews thoughtfully for a moment.

"Is Mary going?"

You nearly choke. How long had it been since anyone mentioned Mary? You assumed she'd figured it out ages ago. Your father lowers his newspaper just enough to show you that he's watching you with amusement, and will be saying nothing to help you. You stall with a sip of juice and concoct a quick story.

"Mary has returned to India."

"Oh? When did this happen?"

"Not very long ago. She was lured back for a friend's wedding, and decided that she couldn't bear to return to dreary old England."

"And what do her parents have to say about this?"

"They understand. She's much happier there."

"Well, I'm sorry to hear it. It took you ages to finally find a suitable friend, and now she's abandoned you."

"Will Ralph be at this party you're going to?" your father graciously cuts in before you're forced to continue making up stories about your fake friend Mary.

"Probably. But I was told that Victoria's party is just for her girlfriends. I wouldn't put it past her to lock him in the attic for the night."

This was not a lie. Lying to your mother was no problem. But your father, with his eyes narrowed over the top of his newspaper, had you on the verge of breaking a sweat.

You take a bite of toast and try to look nonchalant. In truth, you really couldn't care less about Victoria and her annoying friends. You weren't planning on doing anything illicit. It was just an excuse to spend more time with Ralph, and get a taste of the party-filled lifestyle he and Victoria were known for. You told yourself all this to calm your mind, to assure yourself that this was not a big deal, but you feel as though you've just confessed everything to your father.

Until finally, his eyes return to his paper, and he says, "Alright. I trust you."

Trying your best not to heave a sigh of relief, you turn your attention back to your mother, who appears to be willing his newspaper to burst into flames. When she has no luck, she cuts her eyes back to you, looking as innocent as you possibly could.

"What will you wear?" You're in.

"Probably the blue set that Aunt Molly sent me for Christmas."

"Why don't we go get you something new?" You were taken aback. Not only was your mother allowing you to attend a Penbury party, but she was offering to buy you new clothes for the occasion? Did finally standing up to her change things? Does she see you differently now? "Why don't we go tomorrow morning? It's not every day your anti-social daughter voluntarily agrees to attend a party." There it is.

Your father chuckles behind his newspaper, which brings a grin to your face.

"Wondrous. Thank you, Mother."

Later that day, you recounted the conversation you'd had over breakfast to Ralph. He was delighted; not only had the ruse worked, but his invitation had helped, and you were getting new pajamas, too! Even if you had to go with your mother to get them. He knew you weren't looking forward to that part, but he hoped the party would make it all worthwhile.

"What color, do you think?"

"What?" you asked with a confused chuckle.

"I thought maybe…" Ralph suddenly thought that maybe this was a terrible idea, you were not children, but it was too late now, "maybe we could match?"

Your eyes lit up and your face broke into a grin. "I'd love that! That way, there would be no confusion about us being there together. I'd hate to find some floozy fawning over you, and have to get blood on my new pajamas the very first time I wear them."

It takes Ralph a moment to process this, but when he realizes that you're staking your claim on him, his insides begin to buzz. Is this what it feels like to be wanted? Even in jest, the thought that you'd be willing to fight for him makes him feel lightheaded. He wants to chase this high for the rest of his life.

"Perhaps that deep red that you like?" he suggests when he finally finds his words. You'd once complimented a tie he wore in that color, saying he looked exceptionally handsome in it, and he'd been slowly adding more of the shade to his wardrobe. He wanted you to notice, but he also worried that you'd think he was trying too hard to impress you. (He was, but he'd learned that it was best not to be too obvious about it.)

"It's like you read my mind," you said with a glimmer in your eye that drives him mad.

The shopping trip with your mother was delightfully uneventful. You both survived unscathed, and you came home with a nice pair of pajamas in a beautiful deep red color. They weren't too fancy or risqué, just silky pants and a button-up top, and a matching robe covered in roses. It was conservative enough for your mother's taste, modern enough for the partygoers, and in Ralph's favorite color. They were perfect.

In the days leading up to the party, you grew increasingly worried. Your daily outings with Ralph eased your mind… for a few hours. His excitement was infectious, but without constant exposure, it would begin to fade by bedtime. You knew you shouldn't be so nervous. Your Ralph wouldn't make you do anything you didn't want to. It was just a party. A party you didn't even have to get dressed to the nines for; it was only pajamas! And you had the perfect pair! But still, you couldn't stop the worry from worming its way into your thoughts.

When the night of the party finally arrived, you packed your pajamas in a handbag and looked at yourself in the mirror. Straightening your skirt, because your mother would never recover if you wore pajamas in public, you willed yourself to calm down. Breathe. It's only Ralph. The person who knows you better than anyone. Soon, Penbury parties will become routine, and you'll laugh at how nervous you were the first time. Everything is going to be fine.

Your parents were in the study, your father writing something at his desk and your mother working on her needlepoint.

"I'm off," you announce, trying to keep your voice from wavering. It's just a sleepover with the girls. That's all.

"The cook made a sack of treats for you to take along, they're in the kitchen," your mother informs you. Just like when you were a child. You wonder if she purposely requested these to make you feel juvenile and out of place upon arrival.

"I'll thank her in the morning. Good night."

"Enjoy your party, dear." Your mother doesn't look up.

But your father does. "Good night. Be good."

"Of course," you say with a smile, turning to leave before he can sense your panic.

For characters with loose canon personalities(I.e. akari/Rei,frisk,link) it’s alright to use non canon interpretations(I.e. linked universe or other fanfiction) to justify why you voted for someone.

It’s alright to offer rewards for voting as propaganda(I.e. cat photos)

The only requirement is that the character has messed with the timeline in some way,shape,or form to undo something.(and then be alive after it)(characters that are already dead defy this rule)

Clairvoyant characters don’t count.
