I love seeing what I would consider one of my favorite TPP works for one of my favorite TPP runs get some more love from another lorewriter

Ultra really has everything I love about TPP. Character development, weird reality-bending shenanigans, a fantastic villain, unearthly creatures from beyond the pale, and interesting ties to other runs

I guess I just really liked the gentleness of Pepe’s character, and still wanted to put some of his old sensitivity here, considering the stress he’s been in during the run

Now I'm laughing to remember that joke I made about Leo, Pepe, and D being told Icarus was their great-great-something-or-rather and being confused. In actuality, it was Leon, Hop, and Iris and explains so much about the champ's perceived invincibility :Kappa:

There was some lore back when we did Conquest for the first time that Napoleon and D were descendants of the ancient warlord Abin the Third (Pepe didn't exist back then), which made them distantly related to Bill and Alice

I wonder if Iquarus's 'invincibility' was more a gift or a curse. Given how Iquarus had the self-preservation instincts of a masochistic lemming, it was likely a little of both

it's less 'invincibility' and more 'fence horse refuses to deal with iqarus's family until forced to' :Kappa:

the horse would foist this off on yveltal/plume/ho-oh/the death god of your choice, but a side-effect of its deal with iqarus is that it has to deal with his descendants until his genes work out of the gene pool :Kappa:

... actually that'd make a fairly significant chunk of the human population invincible surprisingly fast

Perhaps Iquarus died the first time he did something stupid and Arceus reached out to him in the afterlife for a deal: "You do this for me, and I'll ensure you live to a ripe old age"

Arceus is still slapping himself in the face for thinking that was a good idea

He really should have asked Iquarus how he died to begin with before evaluating whether or not he could be trusted with a matter of this magnitude

Iquarus probably tried to cross the street without looking both ways (or at all)

a few weeks ago someone said something about ingo dying and coming back as a new kinda ghost pokemon, and then mentioned ghost/steel (as in trains) as one possibility and my mind latched onto the train part and Did Not Let Go

ingo somehow gets revived as a ghost train Pokemon. (divine intervention? autism swag? who knows) spends the next however long it is from the past haunting various railroads around the world (he's having The Time Of His. un-Life(??)) waiting for time to catch up to when he disappeared from his original time, until eventually a couple years after he originally disappeared, emmet starts hearing rumors of a strange new pokemon stalking the subway tunnels

bonus. way back when immediately after ingo. uh. kicked the bucket. he ended up hiding in wayward cave for a while for several reasons

melli ended up coming across him and befriended him. (he's much better with Pokemon than people. pokemon don't judge you, and all that)

Idk guys the idea of being really gay (in the 1800s yippee) and in secretly love with another guy a few years older than you who was one of the few people in the world who went out of his way to be your friend and provide you support and shelter only to discover he was just using you to try and create a better world in a misguided attempt to fix his own trauma only to fail and become a bitter shell of a person chasing the last shreds of hope he can that he'll still succeed after leaving you heartbroken at the top of the mountain where he betrayed you -

Only to meet him again years later when you are both adults and he needs your help because he has no friends left anymore and he is tearing himself apart chasing a dream that will never come true and you still carry that flame in your heart for him because despite everything he's done to disappoint and hurt you...

You want to see a world where he'd smile at you again, even if he doesn't know how you feel about him or if he'd even be able or want to love you back.

Doesn't really seem like the worst dynamic of all time and I stand by that.

I keep thinking that I don’t want to shiny hunt any more but then I somehow find something to shiny hunt. I have hunted so many things and my luck is absolutely insane for some reason??? Like I hunted every scarlet paradox and most of them I got in the first sandwich. A couple were second sandwich, roaring moon took 4. Then in my most recent hunt I got three shiny hoppip and a shiny yungoos in a single sandwich when I was hunting the entire hoppip line. Like legit HOW????

honestly, back when i did shiny hunts, i didn't even use sandwiches and i was still getting them relatively quickly. the longest hunt i did was the trapinch hunt, and that was probably because i never got any outbreaks and i was hunting it in an area where trapinch were like a 20% spawn while simultaneously using the masuda method. i don't think i had the shiny charm at that point, either—all things considered, before my jangmo-o hunt, all of my hunts were super inefficient by typical shiny hunting standards, and i still got all the ones i wanted. i think shiny hunting in sv is waaaaayyy easier than in all the other games just because of outbreaks raising the chances so much, sparkling power sandwiches, the picnic method to unspawn all the pokémon still working, and being able to see shinies in the overworld. that last point means i've just gotten an absurd amount of just random shinies of pokémon i did Not even want. so. i think it's something about the game giving Everyone absurd luck. which i support! it encouraged me to shiny hunt At All. i never would've shiny hunted on any game before this one if it wasn't so easy—and varied enough to make it fun, as opposed to just spinning around in circles and waiting like 30 seconds per encounter so that i could get into the fight and then run and everything. i think sv really streamlined the shiny hunting process and made it really nice. no point in keeping it difficult, tedious, and inaccessible forever, right?
