So I started actually clocking my hours this year. I log them in at the end of each working day, and I include overtime for research done after I stop working. It's made me feel a lit more productive because I can actually see the amount of time & effort spent in front of me, even if the actual project isn't done or I didn't do a million things that day. It's also helping me get better work / life balance while working at home. But I can absolutely say with total certainty: I am beyond underpaid & the sheer amount of time I spend on this stuff DESERVES more money.

To Do List
Daily to-do list:
- Read the Bible. Praise God for who He is and everything He’s done.
- Listen to music. Heal the soul. Move. Get inspired.
- Read a life skill book. Improve time management. Learn about investing money. Learn how to speak publicly to help others.
- Be a badass at work. Don’t give them the option to replace you. Build your reputation.
- Set a new goal for tomorrow. Do what you were born to do. You are the only one equipped to do it.
- Connect. With people. The arts. Your own mind. Most of all, God.
Don’t survive the day. Live it.

Hi!! Hello!! Do you like to use items until they are practically falling apart, either because of environmental concerns or financial restrictions?
I know that there is a lot of discussion around fast fashion and how attire (and most things, honestly) are not made to last, let alone to be repaired; but I do not see much talk about where to actually repair things when they break, or how to repair things when they break.
I wanted to compile a list of repair shops that specialize in fixing things that I feel, currently, we don't really think about fixing anymore. Like shoes for instance:
I know that most people can't afford to buy shoes worth repairing, but I thought it would be great to start a conversation about bringing back the idea of repairing items when they break.
This post is nowhere near done, and I will be adding more links as I find additional resources, but as I am researching please feel free to add any suggestions!!
I hope to also make a post about how to find quality items on a budget and what items are worth putting in the money to repair. I know it may seem daunting to figure out; it is!! AND it also is possible, and I have done it for myself and have taught others how to navigate buying second hand and how to stretch their money.
Please let me know if there are any topics that you want me to cover, and I will do my best to research it!! :)

Really struggling to decide the best method for journalling/diary/mood tracking/ etc.
My instinct is telling me that offline is better. Get a real hard copy book and put it all in there. I find tangible writing is much more soothing, gentler on me. But historically I cannot stick this as a habit, I just cannot do it consistently.
Conversely, in a digital form, its so much easier to add media and what not as supplementary info. But also the data is compiled, trackable and reportable. And I fucking love trackable data. I just hate being beholden to my phone and all its blue light.
Why is there no perfect system?!?

These little fuckers are round gobies. They are a freshwater goby that's invasive in Michigan, and they're in the nearby lake. They're distinct from the four native species due to their fused pelvic fins (middle pic) and a big black dot at the rear of their front dorsal fin. Though some other gobies have spots on their fins, NO Michigan-native species has a fused pelvic fin. These guys are very aggressive feeders and are very good at outcompeting native gobies.
They're also extremely good at stealing bait off big hooks as people on the docks reel in their lines. In particular, the bastard in the bottom photo stole my bait two days ago, so I caught him and filleted him for Bug.
Today, after acquiring smaller hooks, I went back and got 16 more, and educated several other fishers about their invasive nature. I got two turned over to me by others, and caught 14 more myself.
One man wandered over and asked why I was catching them on purpose. It was too much trouble to explain my feelings about invasive species, so I just told him, one of them stole my bait two days ago. He stopped watching my bobber and boggled at me and goes:
"You're doing this for revenge?"
So now there's some guy in town that thinks I am exacting revenge upon fish kind for a single stolen worm.

The Management of Life
Nowadays everyone is so busy in his life and work he has no time to spend for himself, Due to his busy schedules but the main course is that we have to make some changes for ourselves. If we do not we will lose all the things one day. So balance should be there, if we do work it should be work only, if we come home after work it should be home only. In saying it’s looking very easy but it is…

What is worse?Being friends with peopleyou can’t standbut there’s nobody else?Or is it better to be alone?Never having a pack of your ownor having nowhere to gowhen you might need a hand.Is it worse to be with someonewho would rather beat you downrather than lift you?Only knowing pain, not pleasure.“But they’re all I could catch.”Well, then you enjoy the blowfish. There are better ways to die on…

Meditation and its Benefits
Tumblr media
Meditation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts.
The popularity of meditation is increasing as more people discover its many health benefits.
You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration.
People also use the practice to develop other beneficial habits and feelings, such as a positive mood and outlook, self-discipline, healthy sleep patterns, and even increased pain tolerance.
