Tbh this has been on my mind for MONTHS

Human codes… but they’re not actually codes??

A small group of humans is discovered by some curious aliens. Both sides can assume that the other is sentient. The aliens are trying to translate the humans’ language to their own, and the humans are trying to learn the aliens’ language. But since humans are tricky, they’ve decided that they don’t want the aliens to know their language, so they can have secret conversations.

So they go a little crazy. With written words, they randomly use lowercase and capital letters, even using numbers and symbols, and use a lot of slang, occasionally using words incorrectly on purpose. They’ll jumble the words a bit so that only human brains can guess their meaning (that thing where if you use all the letters and put the proper letters at the beginning and end it’ll be comprehensible), and even use additional or unofficial languages (commonly known words like ‘hola’, ‘si’, ‘oui’, etc, and piglatin, in which you typically take the first letter or syllable of a word, place it at the end, and add ‘ay’ to the end).

As for spoken words, they will do a bit of the above, mashing languages and slang, perhaps mispronouncing a few things, and quoting memes, vines, movies, and even singing parts of songs to throw off the aliens. Perhaps they will say something with a somber meaning in a joyful way to throw off the meaning, or even just naturally (‘I wanna die!’ ‘Mood’), or vice versa.

Additionally, there would have to be a TON of body language. Maybe even sign language, should they know any. Gestures and expressions, eyebrow wiggles and poorly-hidden grins. Ah, the beauties of communication.

a batfam headcanon that has no basis in canon but i would rather drink gotham harbour water before i stop believing is that all of dicks siblings fight over who gets to dog-sit haley every time dick goes out of town on a titans mission. the catch is they don't want him knowing that they just really want to spend time with him

jason claims he needs to get away from bruce's eyes but really he likes the chill time he can spend reading. haley curls up on his stomach when he's lying on the sofa and he feels very at peace. when dick comes back he cooks a big dinner and they just sit together and watch movies, jason often talling dick all about his latest book

tim wants to take bernard away for a weekend and have some fun, and that blüdhaven is close enough that he can run back and do robin duties. they have fun piecing together who owns what in the city and they end up assisting dick with some of his cases

bruce takes damian who takes titus and they have a doggy playdate. bruce sees it as an opportunity to spend time with his son and damian would never admit it, but he enjoys the down time with his father. they normally stay a day or two after dick gets back and the three of them do normal family things

cass goes with steph and, along with babs, they have a girls trip, which normally includes them taking down multiple organised crime families, a night of cluedo where they all get incredibly competitive, and giving haley a proper bath for once. dick joins in with the games but that doesn't last long before they're watching whatever trashy dating show is currently on and shouting at the screen whenever a bad decision is made

duke doesn't go for it. not because he doesn't want to, but he's the one who walks haley on the days dick is passed out from his night shift. this came about bc he just asked dick if he wanted help with her. dick often joins him if he is awake

In the Danny Phantom Universe, the DCU is an MMORPG referred to as the DCGU and Miraculous Ladybug is a drama series for kids.

In the DCU, Miraculous Ladybug and Danny Phantom are beloved animated TV series.

In the MLBU, The DCU are comics, Danny Phantom is a console game, etc...

Basically what I'm trying to say is that all of these universes exist in the same universal bubble but can/do not directly interact with each other. But they are aware of each other on some level thus the games and TV shows.

But imagine if someone (or everyone) did something a bit ( really fucking) stupid and all of these universes combine into one.

I'm imaging that things would get chaotic very quickly.

Best Dreamling Tropes

the other lists I saw for this on discord were just fic tropes that got used in dreamling fics. This list is ones that are SPECIFIC to dreamling and that most of us made up out of whole cloth and agreed upon.

Just had a random Danny Phantom X MCU thought, not sure if anyone has done it yet.

Pariah Dark is the Ghost of Thanos, the Mad Titan.

In his dimension, he does the second snap and wipes everything away. Unfortunately for him, the stress on his body kills him this time. Thanos wakes up in the Infinite Realms and sees a whole new reality to conquer, but the strongest of beings there all band together to take him on.

They are about to End him permanently when Clockwork/a powerful seer/a time traveller stops them. They can see all of time, and know that the only futures in which reality isn't wiped out completely has Thanos entombed in a sarcophagus, where he will slumber until a champion comes forth to defeat him and bring peace and harmony between the Living and the Other of the multiverse.

Thanos is stripped of his identity as penance to those lost in his rage. He is labelled a Pariah, and all those who aid him are to be cast aside as such. Thus, his new title is bestowed: Pariah Dark, Herald of the Dark Days of the Infinite Realms. The watching of the timeline is left to the ghosts of the Watchers, those who reside over each reality, who become Observants upon death. They manage to chain and enslave Time itself, bending it to their bidding until the time of The Champion, where it is to mentor the child ghost so that he may Rise and best Pariah Dark in one on one combat.

Unfortunately, as the saying goes, 'power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.' The Observants grow used to their power and don't want to give it up. They know that Phantom is the prophesied Champion, and with him comes the end of their reign.

Could throw in some random MCU characters here somewhere. Maybe some villains brought across to stop Danny? Or heroes sent by Clockwork to aid him. I don't know, I haven't thought any further than this.
