klance wip:
“I’m sorry for yelling at you,” Lance breaks the silence, mouth brushing against his now-worn slacks, kneecaps showing.
Keith grunts, staring forward into the crisp night. “It’s fine.”
“And I’m sorry for punching you in the face.”
Keith hums in acknowledgement.
Lance shrinks further into the tight cocoon he’s concocted for himself. He chews at his lip, leg bouncing up into his mouth. “And I’m sorry for not giving you an answer.”
“It’s fine,” Keith repeats quickly. “I didn’t expect one.”
Lance drums his forefingers into his kneecaps, shifting on the cobblestone steps. He hears Keith rustle, sighing next to him. Back inside where the party continues, he hears the faint and familiar sounds of ABBA and the clinks of glasses. He feels like a child, again, not allowed back into the extravagant fun until he’s settled things between him and his notorious rival. He doesn’t even blame Keith for this. It’s his fault he’s been unable to emotionally process anything since the war. How Keith got better at it than him is beyond anything he can comprehend.
The question cements itself into the air and though the anger is gone, the confusion remains. Though his persona says otherwise, Lance never truly thought he was someone that would experience the fierce loyalty that Keith has shown, Keith has shared, Keith has stated to him, until now. “Why?”
“‘Why’ what?”
“Why me?” Lance finally turns to look at Keith, and sees Keith brushing a gloved finger under his now-dry nose. The blood stays caked above his lip, and Lance feels even worse. Lance probably broke it, and Keith’ll have to reset it before they head back into the party. “Why do you love me?”
Keith stops his ministrations, cocking his head lightly to the side. Lance watches Keith process his words, thick eyebrows crinkling downwards, and it’s quiet for a moment. Lance nearly backtracks his question until Keith meets his gaze fiercely, and Lance feels his breath hitch. “I didn’t think I needed a reason to,” he answers, like that’s all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less. “I just love you.”
“Okay,” Lance drawls, lips pursing. He’s not satisfied with the ‘just because’ of the answer, which pretty cements the entire statement as a non-answer. Keith could be dodging the question entirely, but Lance sees the ferocity of his eyes and thinks back to the past few months and determines that no, he probably isn’t. It could just be it for him. “What’s it feel like?”
“What?”
Lance turns his wrist over and over, gesturing onward. “Like, what’s loving me feel like?”
“Are you genuinely curious, or are we feeding your ego?”
Lance glares and pouts, but he sees Keith smirking back at him, so he takes it as a step in the right direction. “No, geez. Like,” Lance purses his lips and thinks back to his days in Voltron. He thinks of silver hair and blue eyes, and juniberry flowers. “Like when I loved Allura, I felt giddy. Like my stomach was in knots. Sometimes, it was like my heart would stop. Even when I was sad, I felt like I always needed to chase the feeling.”
Keith nods back at him, silent, and Lance quietly wonders if Keith’s love is similar to what Lance felt back in those days. Or if he’s judging him for such an immature way of looking at love.
Lance has learned, both in space and on Earth, that love has many forms. He’s still learning. ‘Amar es ser’ as his mamá preached on the steps under the porch light, when his tears would finally dry up after planting rows upon rows of juniberry flowers. To be sad, to be lonely, to grieve. No one love is the same, he knows that. And love never truly leaves. In these two years following the end of the war, all he’s known is grief and heartache, and has believed that’s all love could be. He sees Curtis and Shiro, Hunk and Shay, and just knows he’s never going to have that again. That giddy feeling in his stomach. He’s stuck, grounded.
“Like flying,” Keith finally answers. “Loving you feels like flying.”
“Like flying?”
“Like it’s second nature,” Keith laments. “I don’t really think about it, I just do it. And when I do have to think about it, like if there’s an asteroid field to get through, or I dunno, ‘this,’” he gestured between the two of them, banished from Shiro’s party in trashed clothing stained with dirt, “it’s exhilarating,” Keith exhales sharply from his mouth, a cloud of air puffing out into the chilly night. “It’s my favorite thing in the universe.”
“Oh.”
Keith nods once at him, “Yeah.”
Lance nods back, mouth agape, and attempts a shaky, deep breath. He turns back to his anxiety-tapping, bouncing his knees. Even though he’s the recipient of Keith’s affections, he finds himself envious. Jealous that the love Keith has found seems so much brighter than what Lance has had. It’s funny, too, that while Lance just feels empty, Keith just told him loving him is his favorite thing in the universe.

Not sure if you're still active but do you happen to know any fic featuring an older time traveling Keith and a younger Shiro? I have a hankering :3
Yes, there's a bunch!
Equalize - stardropdream
11k. Teen.
Shiro watches as Keith (Keith, different, with long hair in a braid, broader shoulders, and older face) looks around the room wildly, trying to place where he is. Then he closes his eyes and laughs, a soft, disbelieving chuckle. Shiro watches the tension ease from Keith’s shoulders. “Right,” Keith whispers. “I remember this now.” Or: Keith from the future ends up in the present. Shiro copes the only way he knows how-- by squashing all his feelings back down again.
you can always find me here (the coming home remix) - perfectlyrose
7k. General.
Keith continues to watch himself fade and flicker. He’s staring straight at Pidge’s terrified face watching her form words that he can’t hear when he blinks out of existence. There’s a long moment of darkness, endless and complete, before he fades back into physical existence. He blinks into the dim light and recognizes the dull metal walls and purple glow in an instant, stomach sinking to his feet. Just his luck that the failed wormhole transported him straight into a cell on a Galra cruiser. A quintessence experiment gone wrong sends Keith skipping backwards through time, back to a Shiro he hasn't seen in years, and one he's never seen. Keith just wants to get back to his Shiro and his time.
Up and Down Memory Lane - SaltiSnacks
8k. Mature. Contains: Shiro/Curtis, Keith/OMC
A time-traveling Keith is on board the Atlas. Shiro overhears a conversation. The house of cards crumbles.
Yesterday, We Begin - arcadenemesis
13k. Explicit.
"Where did you come from?" Keith huffs a laugh. "A long, long way from here," he says, plucking the cherry from his glass. Shiro's eyes follow it all the way to his lips, and Keith watches his throat bob when he bites down and plucks the stem. It's an evasive answer, but if Shiro had any follow-up questions, Keith thinks they're long gone. "Do you want that?" he asks when the silence drags, gesturing at Shiro's cherry. It seems to snap him out of his trance. "N-no! You can take it," Shiro stammers, pushing the glass toward him. "Please."
A mission takes Keith back in time, and leads him straight to Shiro.
Stars Fading - zjofierose
2k. Teen.
Keith knows where to go because Shiro had told him, knows the little house by sight from the many pictures Shiro would scroll through when he was feeling melancholy or nostalgic. He’s been waiting for this chance his whole life, wondering when the moment would come - the second his ship breaks orbit above Earth while simultaneously displaying a date in the past, Keith knows: it’s time.
twenty-thousand leagues above the ocean - ErinNovelist
8k. Teen.
“Please,” he begs, glancing up at Keith again, heart throbbing against his ribs. Bare bones are the only thing stopping him from throwing himself at the man he’s known forever. “Just tell me who you are.” Keith looks up at the silver sky, at the worn jacket Shiro clenches close, at the shaky hands shoved into deep pockets to keep warm. “My name is Keith, and I know that doesn’t mean anything to you right now, but someday you’re going to be someone very important to me.” He sighs and tightens his grip on Shiro’s shoulder, leather soft beneath his fingertips. “You already are, and you’re the only reason I’m not lost right now.” “I don’t understand,” Shiro tells him because he doesn’t know what else to say. Keith only cocks his head and smiles. “I’m lost in time, Shiro. And… well, you’ve always been my guiding light, I guess.”
Life We Chose - stardropdream
3k. General.
Not too far out from the Kerberos launch, Shiro finds an unexpected guest waiting outside his quarters, both familiar and unfamiliar.
Stuck in Gravity - stardropdream
11k. Explicit. Contains: Keith/Keith/Shiro
Keith thinks that everyone should be a little more concerned about this supposed "future" him. He's just not buying that any version of himself could be so confident, so happy... so clearly loved. (Or: the "I had to go back in time to teach my younger self that he's worthy of love" time-travel threesome.)
Only an Echo - stardropdream
10k. Explicit. Contains: Shiro/Shiro/Keith/Keith
Shiro should have guessed that things were about to get weird when a wormhole opens up in his bedroom and out step the future versions of Shiro and Keith. “Right,” the older Keith says, smiling a little. “Well. There’s no easy way to explain it.” “We’re” the other Shiro begins. “— here to fuck you,” the other Keith cuts off. “Not quite how I’d phrase it, baby.”
Or: Recently married Shiro and Keith decide that the best wedding present they can give each other is "let's go back in time and fuck our past selves." So they do.

Urgh so I made a poll to see who should teach me how to swim..
My first thought was ‘this going to be incredibly embarrassing’, but also Lance has taught his family members how to swim before. So, maybe this was the better decision.
Besides, Shiro has been a little busy with buying a house for him a Curtis so maybe I should leave him be for a while. When I asked Lance to teach me he seemed to light up. He was texting on his phone, seemingly bored, before I brought it up. Then he was instantly grabbing towels and asking me to put my swim trunks on.
It made me a bit flustered, the fact he was so excited. I felt like I would let down the mood once he actually started teaching me. I’m not good with instructions, I misinterpret and overthink plenty of things. He seemed to laugh off every time I did though, and tried to explain things differently.
In my experience, most people just get frustrated with me. This was a surprise that I really should not have been shocked by, Lance is a caring guy. Swimming is still hard, but I was able to get a grasp on making myself float which was nice.

Klance crack cause why not
OPEN FOR REQUESTS

Btw, this was the inspiration for the written version of this comic not mine full creds to the artist. Also, this is in Keiths pov because I personally think I write a lot better in his pov. Keith and Lance already have an established relationship.
Why do things always happen on days I wish they didn't, so explanation as to why we are currently stuck in space waiting for Corran and the princess to come back. It's gonna be a long story so grab your popcorn. it had been right after another day of being the paladins of Voltron/beating galra ass and we were all tired. The luck was I had been training peacefully before going to bed, the entire castle was silent, personally I loved it, I ended up walking back to my room in pure silent bliss. And as soon as my head hit that pillow. No more silent bliss just an excessive amount of beeping and red lights flashing, I ended up going to the control room to find everyone there, except for Allura and Corran who were still miraculously asleep. Which is even more surprising when Lance is awake. Anyways, pidge started to assess and talk about the situation, explaining how we all needed to go out and fix the problem together due to how large the scale of this damage is. Another annoying factor is that we couldn't be in our lions which wasn't helpful. So, we exited the ship and went to the area where the supposed problem was just to find nothing! And the ship went speeding off, turns out a smuggler stowed away when we left the planet, and no one noticed due to the exhaustion from said battle. At this point I was just fed up and tired. Cue comic to come in.
I hoped you liked this little fluff crack one-shot; also, can we agree that it was so annoying how Shiro, the only canonically gay character in the shows, love interests and relationships completely got brushed to the side, like Adam was there for an episode and I already loved his character. And then Curtis like we love Curtis, but he wasn't really talked about so I can't really make a one-shot about it. And their marriage was also completely left to ponder about, also, I feel like if the show kept on going after the lions left, Klance would turn cannon cause I feel like Keith would visit Lance a lot when he didn't go back to the program. Anyways bye!!!

He was tired. Physically, and mentally. That was a side effect of being the captain of the Atlas and finding out that your ex-fiancé that you were definitely still in love with was still alive and being held captive by your enemies.
So yeah, Shiro was tired. But he couldn't afford to go to sleep just yet. Not when Adam was in the medbay, unconscious and hooked up to fluids. He took in Adam's appearance, the feeling of his hand under his own, the warmth from it. The peaceful look on his face, how Adam's chest rose and fell steadily with each breath.
"You need to sleep."
"Do you think I can?" Shiro asked. His voice was flat, void of emotion. A hand rested on his shoulder.
"You need to sleep, Shiro. He'd want you to." Shiro sighed. Keith was right. He knew that. In the time that Keith had spent with Shiro and Adam, he'd learned that when Shiro was neck-deep in work that Adam would drag him to bed.
Shiro had always repaid that by doing the same thing to Adam.
"Fine. You win," he admitted.
"Don't worry. You'll be the first to know when he wakes up." The thing was, Shiro knew that already. He was the captain of the Atlas, it would be illogical for the captain of the ship that finds and frees prisoners to not know when the person woke up.
He didn't point that out to Keith. Part of Shiro wanted to be told because he still loved Adam, not because he was the captain of the ship that had saved him.
He squeezed Adam's hand. "I'll come visit you tomorrow," he promised in a whisper. He left, Keith walking with him.
They parted ways in front of the door that led to the room that Keith shared with Lance. Everyone on the ship knew that they were together. The amount of times they'd kissed before getting into their lions were too numerous to count on both of Shiro's hands.
He went to his quarters, which had a couch, something that the other rooms didn't have. That was it. There was a couch in the captain's quarters.
He changed out of his uniform and into his pajamas. Then he collapsed onto the couch and laid down.
It wasn't comfortable, but he'd rather sleep on something that made him uncomfortable than have to sleep in a bed by himself. He'd been having that problem since him and Adam broke up.
Adam... Would he want to get back with Shiro? He didn't think so. The thought hurt.
He curled into himself, trying to give himself warmth, even though he knew that it was useless. Only Adam's warmth could help him.
Nevertheless, he drifted off into an uneasy sleep.
It was the lights brightening for the day cycle that woke him. He sighed, got up, and got ready for the day. He went to assign everyone their tasks for the day, listened to the status reports of the Paladin and MFE pilots mission and the Atlas, and made decisions based off of those.
Why the hell was he put in charge of an entire fucking ship? Because he'd had the most experience fighting the Galra and he wasn't a Paladin and had military training?
He didn't even remember what happened when he was held captive by the Galra.
He went through the paces of the day again, practically on autopilot.
"Shiro," Sam's voice said through his comm.
"Sam, do you need something?" Shiro asked.
"It's Adam. He's awake." Shiro froze. Adam...
"I'll be right there," he said. He handed Curtis the thing he was supposed to be looking over and made his way down to the medbay.
Adam was awake, talking to one of the medics and Sam. Shiro stood in the doorway, unsure. Sam looked up and motioned for him to come closer. Shiro's feet moved on their own, even when Adam looked up at him.
"Adam..." Sam said something to the medic. They left, leaving Adam and Shiro alone together.
For the first time since their fight. The fight about Kerberos.
"Takashi... You're really here," Adam whispered, barely loud enough for Shiro to hear him.
That's when the dam broke. That's when all of the tears that Shiro hadn't been able to cry decided to release themselves. He sat on the chair next to Adam's bed.
Arms wrapped around him and held him close. He clung to Adam.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You were right. I shouldn't have left for Kerberos. But... I don't know if I'd change that. The war... The Galra would've come sooner," Shiro said.
"It's okay, Takashi. I'm... I'm just glad that you're here," Adam soothed. Shiro nearly sobbed harder from hearing Adam's voice. "Come on, get on." Shiro didn't have to be told twice before he was lying on the bed with Adam, face buried in Adam's hospital shirt.
"I'm sorry."
"Takashi," Adam said. His voice was soft. Gently, he lifted Shiro's face so that he was forced to look at him. His eyes were soft, looking at Shiro as if he'd never broken Adam's heart years ago. "I've already forgiven you. I... When Sam came back with news of the Galra, I decided... I decided that I didn't want to die without forgiving you. It was time for me to do that, anyway."
"I don't deserve it. I- you deserve someone who won't leave you for the stars," Shiro whispered. Adam's face became pained.
"You know that I could never stop loving you." Shiro buried his face in the crook of Adam's neck, taking time to remember the feeling of their skin touching, of how warm Adam's skin was.
"I missed you so, so much."
"I missed you too." A gentle pressure on the top of his hair. Shiro knew Adam well enough to know that it was a kiss. After all, there had been too many times when Shiro was in this exact position, lying on Adam and crying from the intensity of the pain from his disease.
That reminded him...
"I'm not sick anymore," he said. Adam's grip grew tighter.
"I'm glad to hear that."
It took a while for the medics to be able to actually check over Adam. Shiro literally clung to him, just relieved to be able to hold him again.
Nothing extreme had happened to Adam. Shiro was so glad. He'd been subject to the Druid's experiments, and they were not nice.
Shiro was just sitting on the bed with Adam leaning against him - they were taking time to enjoy being with each other again - when Keith burst into the room, followed by his team, Coran, Romelle and Krolia. He went to the bed and climbed onto it.
"Hi," he said, looking up at Adam.
"You're not as short as you were a few years ago," Adam commented. Keith pouted.
"I hate you,' he declared.
"Sure you do, if the way you barged into here says anything," Adam retorted.
"My favourite teacher's awake!" Lance said, happily. Adam smiled at the teens.
"It's good to see that my three favourite cadets are alive," he said.
"Hello, Adam was it?"
"Yes, that's me," Adam replied. Allura smiled.
"I'm Princess Allura of Altea. This is my advisor, Coran."
"Hello," Coran said.
"I'm Romelle," Romelle added.
"It's nice to meet you," Adam said, honestly.
"The Galra there is my mom, by the way," Keith piped up from his place leaned up against Adam.
"My name is Krolia." She leveled her son with A Look. Keith smiled at her. "I've heard much about you from Keith. I want to thank you for the things you have done for him."
"It's not a big deal," Adam replied. He smiled. "And it's nice to meet you." Shiro felt as if he could melt into a puddle of goo.
He was mostly quiet as Adam talked with the team, the mis-matched family Shiro became a part of when they found Blue. It was nice, hearing the children of the team be children. And Adam was making an effort to get to know the Alteans and Krolia. Shiro honestly couldn't ask for more, really.
So he kept his head on Adam's shoulder, his left arm around his waist, and listened to the conversation around him, poking in from time to time to stop the Paladins from doing something stupid. Krolia gave him and Adam knowing looks, as did Coran. He just rolled his eyes at them.
He let himself be lost in the moment.
He woke up, gasping for breath. It had just been a nightmare, but it had felt real. Adam hid his face in his hands.
"Commander Wright? Are you okay?" The medic on duty asked, voice low.
"I'm- I'm fine I just-"
"Do you think that you'll be able to go to sleep when you've calmed down?" Adam shook his head. "Would you like me to alert the captain?" It took a couple of seconds to remember that Takashi was the captain of the Atlas. He nodded.
The medic disappeared. After a few minutes, there was a warmth by his side. Adam leaned into it.
"Nightmare?" Takashi asked. Adam nodded. "It's okay. I'm here now, I won't let anything bad happen to you." Takashi exaggerated his breathing slightly. Adam hadn't even realised that he was hyperventilating until his breathing evened out.
"Stay... Please?"
"Of course," Takashi agreed. Adam faintly thought that it was nice that Takashi was the captain of the Atlas. He could do whatever he wanted to and no one could protest against him.
They laid back on the bed, Adam tucked against Takashi and in the safety of his arms. They fell asleep like that, and when Adam woke in the morning, he realised that it was the best sleep he'd had in such a long time.

Kidge winter event
Day 1: Ice skating
Every large city during the Christmas period begins to wake up from the cold and sad autumn, just as the yellow and orange leaves fade away, all the streets are filled with a warm atmosphere of joy and lights. In the evening the shop windows, streets and decorations light up while families, couples, teenagers and children stroll with packages in hand and smiles on their faces. New York was covered in snow, and everyone seemed so happy and carefree at the idea of celebrating the first Christmas after the end of the war. One couple in particular, however, were trying to keep a low profile, dodging other people and walking with some haste, and when they arrived at the closed gate of a public park, one took the large duffle bag off his shoulders and gave it to the figure smaller next to him.
“Keith, I swear to God if we end up in prison for any of your stupid shit that you didn't do in your teenage years I'm going to stop hanging out with you!” the girl growled, looking around to make sure they weren't seen.
“You sound so legal, but I'm not the one who illegally signed up to a military space base, Katie”: he sneered, climbing over the fence and landing on his feet on the other side. She tossed him the duffle bag, which fell to the ground with a silent clang on the snow.
“Yes, but that's not why Shiro invited us here…”: she grumbled, taking one last look around before climbing over and following him. Shiro, after declaring that he was engaged to Curtis, bought a large penthouse in the center of New York, which now housed all the paladins including Coran and Romelle. According to him it was a way to meet again and maintain the bond as long as possible after the departure of the lions.
“Okay, but honestly, what are we doing here?”: she asked, adjusting her scarf and shivering at the gust of wind.
"Ice-skating"
"Ice-skating?"
He nodded.
“But what if you don't even know how to skate?!”: she laughed.
“Indeed, but at least everyone will think that we went to the legal track, and not on a frozen lake…”: he smirked, holding her hand and dragging her through the light snow-covered bush up to a point where the snow left room for a flat ice field.
“You're smart, you know?”: Pidge smiled, looking him in the eyes: “You gave everyone a false lead so Lance and Romelle won't know where we are…”
“Do you see that sometimes I think?”: he smiled, sitting down on the snow and taking two pairs of ice skates out of his bag. As soon as they had them at their feet, she began to move to gain confidence by doing a few laps around the perimeter from the pond, while Keith remained sitting next to her watching her move with all that elegance.
“Are you going to stay here and watch me from behind all night or will you come here with me?”: she laughed, approaching slowly.
“The view from here is very beautiful…”: he smiled, standing up and trying to gain balance. As she had said he didn't know how to skate; How could he have learned in the middle of the desert? She helped him, pulling him up gently, then intertwining their fingers. Pidge continued to guide him, showing him how to bend his knees and move his feet. After years of war in which he was leader, Keith finally let himself be carried away by someone else's orders and advice.
When he was finally able to skate slowly without that attention, they remained with their hands clasped as they were transported by the cold mist into their immense solitude. She let out a gasp when he surprised her by whirling around almost knocking them both over, wrapping his arms around her hips as he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
There they were alone: just two hot bodies making fiery sparks, ready to explode. They were alone there. There they could just screw it all and show themselves for what they were. They had wasted too much time hiding their love from the whole world.
“You have no idea how long I've waited for this…”: she smiled, her cheeks and nose slightly pink from the cold.
“Me too…”: he replied, dragging her into another kiss. They remained there for many moments warming themselves with their bodies pressed next to each other's, exchanging fiery kisses. They were interrupted only by the sight of blue and red flashes shining in the night and reflecting off the ice and snow.
“I saw them climbing over here!”: they heard a man grumble: “It must be those usual thugs who deface the walls!”
“I think we have to run now…”: Keith whispered, taking her hand and letting her accompany him to the shore.
“I can't believe that if they reach us I'll end up in prison because of Keith Kogane!”: she snorted in amusement, quickly taking off her ice skates and putting her boots back on.
“Hey, you two!”: shouted a stout and chubby looking man in a uniform. They both laughed as they stood up, starting to run away.

Kidge summer event
Day 6: smoothie 🥤
Characters: Pidge/Katie holt, Keith Kogane, Hunk Garret, Lance McClain, Allura Altea, Shay, Kosmo....
Pairing: pidge and keith : kidge ( Hay : Hunk and Shay ) ( Allurance )
post season 8
A/N: Allura is still alive in that universe.
It was one of the multiple paladin's meeting on New Altea where the Altean Sun was lighting the multiple field of colored junibery flowers.
The paladins were gathered around their usual table where only one of them was missing. Unfortunately, Shiro was in vacations with hid husband, Curtis.
Passing that detail, it was such a nice summer day.
Hunk and Shay, his girlfriend, had made lunch for everyone. It was now time for a refresh...
"What can we do for dessert?.."
Hunk asked in worry.
"Well, I'm sure they wouldn't mind eating a burnt cake... Besides, they're your friends, They would understand."
Shay answered as she was looking at the cake that had burnt in the oven.
Hunk sighed at Shay's words and turned towards the window to see his friends.
He saw how Keith and pidge were close at the table. How Keith tried to flirt with her and how she was not bothered with it.... Actually, she was even flirting back.
He then turned to see Allura and Lance: Allura had a grin on her face, she was starting at both Keith and pidge with the same thoughts then Hunk.
Lance, him, had a hand on his girlfriend's hip. He was also looking at the two but not with the same expression. He was more like: "dios mío, get a room!!"
Hunk got his head inside the kitchen again.
"have you noticed how Keith and Pidgeon are flirting together? Like man, they got very close in the last years and I'm pretty sure they have feelings for each other... The problem Is that or they don't even notice their feelings, or they are just too awkward to try something..."
"There was a time where I thought they were dating..."
Shay admited. She gave the burnt cake to Kosmo that was laying in the kitchen's ground. ( Kosmo with his cosmic stomach could literally eat everything...) The kitchen's ground was cold, that's why he was laying there. 'CAUSE DAMN, IT WAS HOT OUTSIDE!
"it's hot, isn't it little one?.. let me get you some nice ice. Maybe a cold drink would help you too?"
Shay gave a pat to Kosmo before to give him some ice.
"you know what? That gives me an idea of desert..."
Hunk said with a smirk as he turned back to smirk at pidge and Keith...
Later, Hunk and Shay arrived at the table with the deserts:
"Ok everyone! The cake burnt... BUT! I came up with another idea of desert that I hope you'll enjoy!"
He placed the plate on the table; It had 3 smoothies.
One was green and red with a small slice of watermelon and kiwi. The second was completely blue but with two shades of it and a few blueberrys on it. The third one was yellow had Chocolat at the bottom and on the top of it.
"I made smoothies that you guys can share! Allura, Lance, I made you a blueberry smoothie with a small touch of mint inside of it. I picked that taste because you both were paladins of the blue lion... As for Keith and Pidge, I know you guys are not dating but I thought it would be nice if you shared your's... do you mind it ?"
Hunk knew exactly what he was doing. He also knew that they would agree for sure.
"Sounds good to me."
Keith said. He blushed slightly and turned his head to see pidge's reaction.
"Same."
She also blushed.
"All right! For you two, I picked cucumber, mint, kiwi, watermelon and strawberry. Reffing to your lions but also the the fact that you were both the arms of voltron! Now, I hope you guys will enjoy your drinks and that they will refresh you!"
Everyone thanked Hunk and Shay.
Hunk sat next to Allura. She turned at him:
"You did it on purpose, didn't you?"
She asked with a grin.
He placed a finger in front of his mouth and blinked.
"Hope that one of them will finally be courageous enough to ask the other out..."
She said in a sigh.
"I'm sur they will."
Hunk smiled at the two that were sharing the green and red smoothie. They were laughing together, not even noticing that everyone was staring at them.
They were in there own world, with their refreshing smoothie that sure tasted amazing in this summer day.
( SORRY FOR BEING SO LATE!!!!!JZJDFBISBDSIBFSIFBFIZND!!! Also, Hunk is the best match-maker ;). )

the pain of living (and wanting not to live in pain).
prompt; hurts to breathe. requested by; @ardenrabbit. fandom; voltron: legendary defender. focus character; takashi shirogane. relationship(s); n/a. trigger(s); n/a (if there are any i didnt list, pls let me know!) written for @badthingshappenbingo!
shiro had been having nightmares lately.
these nightmares always left him in a state of pure fright, with him bolting up in bed, eyes darting frantically around at his sleeping quarters on the atlas, body covered in a cold sweat, tears pricking the corners of his eyes.
he didn’t tell anyone about these nightmares, for he knew that if he told, he would be coddled like he was when he was younger and had the muscle disease. adam, the doctors, iverson, his grade school teachers, his parents and older sister, they all treated him like he was some type of frail object. he hated being treated like he wasn’t capable of doing things, making decisions on his own.
he was able to prove them all wrong, though, by beating the odds. first it was that he wouldn’t make it past his first hour of life, then three years, then eight, then thirteen… now he’s twenty-six, and still proving everyone wrong with the shit that he’d been through in space.
but, maybe, this is catching up to him…
he’s stopped by keith in the hallways of the atlas one slow afternoon (or, what seemed like afternoon, they were in space and time doesn’t really matter when you’re in space). he had given the crew a day off and had gotten caught up on a much needed rest–not sleeping, of course, but resting nonetheless–in that time.
“hey, shiro,” keith chirps, a little peppier than usual, “i need to go over some upgrades to our lions that pidge requested.”
shiro smiles at his best friend and nods, successfully masking his lack of sleep. “yeah, sure, we can do that now.”
“great, uh, did you wanna go to the bridge?”
shiro suddenly feels as if his heart is about to burst out of his chest, but not in the good way. he breathes in slowly, then finds it difficult to push the breath back out of his lungs.
“…’ro?”
he looks up and sees keith’s concerned face, chest heaving.
“are you okay?” keith asks, putting a hand on his best friend’s shoulder to help comfort him.
shiro nods and steadies himself, breathing very slowly to help the pounding in his head. he makes a feeble attempt at a smile and leads keith to the bridge of the atlas to go over the plans.
~~~
it isn’t until the neighboring planet adjacent to the one they’re currently docked at attacks when the crew notices something’s wrong with their captain.
shiro’s kept his cool, he’s successfully masked his sudden symptoms; however, in this situation, the rest of the crew is focused not only on the attacking inhabitants, but also on the fact that their captain isn’t giving out the usual orders.
“captain, voltron and the mfes are having trouble with taking down the attacking ships,” veronica informs, “what are your orders?”
“um...” shiro starts, but it’s getting hard to concentrate on the panel in front of him when his vision is getting blurry around the edges.
“captain? are you alright?” curtis’ voice rips through the ringing in his ears, though it sounds muffled.
then, shiro collapses, breathing staggered and abnormally heavy. every attempt of breathing leaves his chest feeling like it’s fighting against something heavy. he hears coran and veronica next to him, veronica attempting to reassure him while coran tells iverson to call the medbay.
then, everything goes black...
~~~
shiro awakens a couple of hours later in the medbay, the bright lights almost blinding him as he slowly opens his eyes.
“look, he’s waking up!” someone says (the voice sounds like lance), and footsteps seem to come closer to his bed.
as he regains his vision, he sees team voltron, the mfes, and most of his bridge crew surrounding his bedside. keith and griffin are closest to him, with keith looking almost ready to cry.
“what...?” he starts, not registering until he speaks that there’s an oxygen mask on his face.
“you collapsed and were having trouble breathing,” keith explains, “but luckily, you had the bridge crew there to help you get to the medbay quickly. doctors said you wouldn’t have made it otherwise.”
“the...?”
“the inhabitants of the planet adjacent to us retreated once they realized they were outnumbered. luckily, we had pretty good allies on our side from the planet we’re currently docked at,” griffin reports.
“in fact,” allura speaks, “when they heard of your predicament, the empresses of vellion promised to join the coalition and help liberate planets alongside us. they’re starting with their sister planet next to them, but they say it’ll take some time.”
“that’s...” shiro takes a staggering breath, then continues. “that’s great...”
“now,” iverson comes up to his bedside next to keith, “rest up, captain. you definitely need it.”
“but who’s gonna-?”
“we’ll all do our part to make sure that the bridge is running smoothly in your absence,” veronica reassures, “but as iverson instructs, you need to rest.”
“...okay. thank you.”
as the others leave the room to go back to their respective duties, shiro smiles to himself and then gets some much needed sleep.

Just Another Cinderella Story (Chapter 1)
Once upon a time, there was a boy who was left in the care of his uncaring stepmother. Raised in a life of servitude and seeing his stepbrother lavished with praise and given everything he desired, the boy knew there was only one way he would ever be free. If their dreams of marrying into a life of luxury came true, then he would be left with his childhood home and he would finally be able to turn his life around.
Of course, Fate often has other plans in mind.

1. Saponaria officinalis
It began as all old tales did, with a child who was pure of heart and thrust into a situation beyond their control. In this case, the child was a boy whose kind father was taken from him far too early, leaving him in the clutches of his wicked stepmother.
He grew up in servitude and hoped that one day things would get better. Perhaps one day, when his stepmother's wish to marry her perfect son to a rich princess came true, they would leave his father's house and him behind. Until then, he would keep his head down and work as hard as he could.
It didn't always work. There was always something his stepmother found not to her liking and his stepbrother was even worse with his constant criticism.
His life wasn't all bad, however. Every now and then, under the guise of gathering wild berries in the woods, he could get away and visit a friend.
Keith met Takashi Shirogane purely by accident.
It happened on a hot summer day on one of the rare occasions he opened his big mouth and talked back to his stepbrother, earning himself a series of painful lashings that split the skin across his back badly enough to bleed. He was then sent out into the woods to gather wood for the stove. When he inevitably collapsed, Shiro was the one who found him.
The man was called a witch by the townsfolk and he lived in a cabin with his partner, Curtis. The two of them took Keith in, cleaned and bandaged his wounds, and fed him before allowing him to leave.
Keith couldn't go to them often, but whenever he felt his patience wearing thin he found an excuse to get away.
As always, Shiro and Curtis welcomed him to their cozy cabin with open arms. Shiro took his basket from him and gestured for Keith to take a seat, while he filled the basket with a variety of herbs and berries, giving credence to Keith's excuse.
“Thank you,” Keith said as he sat down, sinking into the soft furniture with a relieved sigh.
“How is your back?” Curtis asked from where he stood in the kitchen. There was a dusting of flour covering his hands and the front of his apron, and luckily there was none was sprinkled through his brown hair. (Keith had yet to see Curtis not looking like a mess while he was baking.)
“It feels tight sometimes, but it doesn't hurt anymore,” Keith said.
Shiro stopped filling the basket and went to a nearby cupboard, where he selected a green clay container. He uncorked it and looked inside, nodding in satisfaction at what he saw.
Knowing what was coming next, Keith stripped out of his shirt and folded it up in his lap, turning so Shiro had better access to his back. He pulled his hair forward so it was no longer in the way either.
Shiro sat down on the couch next to him and dipped his fingers into the jar, scooping out a generous amount of salve. He gently smoothed it over the scars and smiled at Keith's initial flinch, knowing it was due to the unusual coolness and mild tingle it produced on contact. “This should help with the tightness. You know if you allowed me to apply this more regularly, you wouldn't be able to tell that there are any scars.”
“You know I can't do that,” Keith murmured, relaxing under Shiro's light touch.
“They don't deserve you.”
Keith had nothing to say to that. It was a conversation they had every time he saw Shiro and it always ended with Keith returning to his personal hell.
He knew he could leave and his so-called family would presume him dead and continue on with their lives, glad to be rid of him. They weren't the reason he stayed. He stayed for the manor; it was his father's home and the place which held all of his fond memories of what little time they shared together. The thought of leaving made him feel as though he was abandoning all of that.
“How long are you staying today, Keith?” Curtis asked.
“Long enough that I no longer want to strange Lotor with his stupid hair,” Keith grumbled in response, earning a chuckle from the other two men.
“Ah, so you're moving in,” Curtis joked with a grin.
Keith tried not to smile, knowing it would only encourage them. “I might stay the night and leave before sunrise, if that's alright.”
“You won't get in trouble for being gone for so long?” Shiro replaced the cork on top of the jar and stood to put it away.
“They're entertaining for the evening and gave me specific instructions to stay out of sight. As long as I'm back to serve them breakfast, they won't care.”
Shiro stood up and headed back to the cupboard to put away the jar. “In that case, I'm going to prepare a proper bath for you. I know I just applied the salve, but there's one that will work even better after you've soaked for a while. No arguments.”
Keith made a frustrated sound, but Shiro was already heading for the back door. He watched as Shiro paused for a moment to whisper to Curtis before he walked through the door and disappeared into the sprawling garden.
He knew there was no point in arguing. Shiro would give him a sad look and Keith's resolve would crumble, unable to stand the idea of disappointing someone who genuinely cared about him.
Keith turned his attention to Curtis instead. “Who are you baking for today?”
“Well, I suppose it's for you since you'll be joining us for dinner,” Curtis said, giving him a fond smile. “Shiro suggested I make it. He does that sometimes, when he believes we'll have a visitor who could use a good meal. I hope you like blackberry cobbler.”
“That sounds incredible,” Keith said, unable to say for sure if he would like it. As long as Curtis was the one doing the cooking, he was sure it would all be delicious.
Keith struggled to properly relax while he waited for Shiro to return. He was so used to working all day that it felt unnatural to sit and do nothing. Maybe Curtis would let him clean the pots and pans?
He doubted it.
Shiro came and went, flitting about like a man on a mission. He didn't stop to talk to either of them. All of his focus was on the task he had set for himself. Just when Keith was about to beg Curtis to give him something to do, Shiro returned and herded him to a smaller room where a deep tub of steaming water was waiting for him. It smelled faintly of herbs, but Keith couldn't tell which ones.
Next to the tub was a bench that held several jars of soaps, a towel, and a fresh set of clothing.
“Shiro-”
“You deserve this,” Shiro firmly cut in, not allowing Keith to finish his sentence. “Wash up and relax. I'll knock when I think you've been in here long enough and then you can get out. I'd like to apply the new salve before you put a shirt on. After that, you're welcome to help me with a few things before dinner.”
“Don't do anything to my normal clothes,” Keith said.
Shiro sighed heavily as though he really wanted to disagree, but instead he promised he wouldn't do anything to them.
Keith waited for him to leave before removing his threadbare clothing, carefully folding each item, and setting them aside in an attempt to keep them reasonably neat. He then eased himself into the hot water, letting it soothe his aching body. The soft scents of whatever herbs Shiro put into the water lulled him into a relaxed state, clearing his mind and giving him a moment of peace that he hadn't realized he needed.
He felt incredible by the time Shiro knocked on the door and it was with some reluctance that he climbed out of the tub and began to dry himself off, leaving his hair for last. He then swiftly dressed in the undergarments and pants, marveling over how soft it was and feeling a little undeserving of such finery.
Keith carried the shirt and accompanying vest with him out to the main room, where Shiro swooped in to rub a new salve over his back, though he first ran his fingers through Keith's damp curls, tugging free any tangles he found.
“Don't bother. I'm going to chop it off soon,” Keith said, reaching back to pull his hair from Shiro's hands.
“You shouldn't,” Shiro said in a tone that implied he knew something but wasn't ready to reveal what he knew. He uncorked a new jar and spread its contents over the scars on Keith's back, one at a time.
Unlike the first salve, it felt surprisingly warm and remained that way once Shiro was done.
“You shouldn't have any more problems with your back,” Shiro said.
“Really?” Keith twisted around to look at him in surprise. “What's the difference between this one and the one you used earlier?”
“The other one relieves pain and softens the scar tissue so it doesn't pull as tightly. It's a quick fix for anyone who needs to stay active and is normally best suited for minor aches and pains. This one heals more deeply than that, but you can't strain yourself for at least six hours so it has time to work,” Shiro explained. “I've found that it also helps to take a warm bath beforehand.”
Keith didn't fully understand how any of it worked and he doubted he ever would, so he nodded along with what Shiro said and accepted it as the truth.
“So I have to sit still even longer? I thought you wanted my help with something,” he said, crinkling his nose.
“I do want your help,” Shiro said brightly. He stood up, taking the jar with him so he could put it back. “It's nothing strenuous and a little activity won't hurt anything.”
“I'll do it,” Keith agreed without waiting to hear what he would be doing. It didn't matter, so long as he didn't have to sit still.
Shiro returned to give his back one last look over and then directed Keith to put on the shirt and jacket. Keith almost left the vest off. He took a moment to trace his fingers over the white embroidery spiraling over one of the pockets and to marvel over how soft and warm the red fabric was. It was far nicer than anything he'd ever been allowed to wear and it was only the fact that it was clearly well-worn that had him shrugging it on.
Shiro nodded in approval. “Sit and turn your back to me. I'm doing something with your hair.”
“Any reason why you're determined to dress me up today?” Keith did as his friend asked without waiting for the answer. He soon felt gentle fingers return to his curls, once again working on getting rid of the tangles.
“Do I need a reason?” Shiro asked, and though his tone was lighthearted, Keith was sure he could detect an edge of frustration.
“Well, no... I guess not.”
Shiro continued to work on his hair until he could get his fingers through without catching on a single knot and then began to gather sections as he debated how he wanted to arrange Keith's hairstyle. He muttered to himself and Keith wasn't entirely sure it was fully in English because there was so much of it he couldn't understand.
Eventually, Shiro settled on a simple, single braid.
“Now you're ready to help me,” he said as he stood up. He held out a hand for Keith to take and helped him stand.
Keith expected an evening in the garden, gathering herbs and flowers of all varieties so that Shiro could dry them or do whatever he needed, but instead he was led to a room he'd never been allowed inside. He realized why immediately.
Shelves lined the walls, filled with a variety of pots and baskets. One was specifically for hanging dried plants. Another held books of all sizes. In the very center was the room was a cauldron on a pedestal, with a fire pit beneath it that lit itself the moment the door was shut.
If Keith ever needed confirmation that maybe the stories of Shiro being a witch were true, that was it. He wasn't worried though. Shiro had never given him a reason to distrust him.
“Should I really be in here?” Keith asked.
“I don't see why not. I normally get Curtis to help me with things like this,” Shiro told him. “Healing salves require quiet and I have to do those myself, but I also make soaps. That's what you'll be helping me with today. Could you get that basket of soapwort?”
Keith took a moment to look around, crossing off a number of plants before he came across one with a few white flowers still attached. “This one?”
“That's it,” Shiro said with a nod. “Take it over to the table and start chopping one of the bundles. Try and get the pieces as evenly as you can, but don't stress if they aren't. Once you have a full bundle cut, you can put it in the cauldron and add one jar of dried soapwort so it can all boil together.” He walked over to one of the shelves and plucked up a fist-sized jar, which he took over to the table where Keith would be working.
“Do you do this a lot?” Keith asked as he got to work.
“At least once a week I make a lemon soap for Curtis to take into town and sell with his pies,” Shiro said. “The one we're making is for a friend. Nettle and rose this time, I think.”
Keith focused on what he was doing as Shiro got lost in his own musings, as he was prone to do when he was working on something he found important. He found chopping the soapwort a relaxing activity and quickly finished the single bundle he was asked to do. He swept it all up into another jar – when did that get there? - and then carried the fresh and dry soapwort to the cauldron and dumped it all in. The ladle stirred it all together on its own.
The blatant display of magic had Keith gasping in surprise.
Shiro looked over at the sound. “Ah, sorry about that. It's charmed to automatically stir. I've had one too many recipes burn while I was trying to get everything in order. The wind chimes are the same.” He pointed to the ceiling, where a few copper tubes were hanging in close proximity.
“It's fine. I just wasn't expecting it,” Keith said, backing away from the cauldron with slight weariness. He breathed in, reminding himself that he trusted Shiro and that the magic was useful and not dangerous, and then walked over to see if his friend needed any other help. “So, uh, what now?”
“Now we add the rose and nettle so it can boil along with the soapwort,” Shiro said, handing Keith one jar. “Both are good for the skin, but I use rose petals specifically for the scent.”
Keith and Shiro spent most of the evening in the little room, working first on a liquid soap for Shiro's mystery friend, and then on a smaller jar of lemon soap that he insisted Keith take home for general household cleaning. By the time they emerged, laughing and joking around, Curtis was nearly finished with dinner.
“You're taking this better than I thought. Even Curtis avoided me for two days when I first showed him my magic,” Shiro complimented.
“Hey, in my defense, you didn't exactly ease me into it,” Curtis spoke up, an amused smile on his face. “And I spent those two days calling myself an idiot for running from you.”
“I suppose I could have broken in the news a bit more gently...”
Keith couldn't help but smile as he listened to them banter back and forth. It was yet another thing that generally went unsaid in regards to Shiro's life; the exact nature of his partnership with Curtis was central to much of the town gossip, always spoken about in whisper and yet somehow without judgment. It was treated as any other talk about who liked who.
All Keith cared about was how happy they were together.
Shiro stepped into the kitchen, mischief in his expression, but before he could do whatever he was planning on, a horse whinnied outside and he turned around to go out and greet their new visitor instead.
“Keith, come with me,” he instructed.
Keith glanced over at Curtis, who only shrugged and went back to cooking. With no help forthcoming he followed after Shiro. Outside they found a cloaked rider astride a dappled gray horse and as Shiro approached the rider pushed back their hood to reveal a young woman with light brown hair.
“It's good to see you, Pidge,” Shiro greeted as he grasped one end of the reigns. He held the horse steady as the woman swung her legs over and hopped down.
“Hi, Shiro. And Shiro's new friend.” She flashed a quick smile at Keith before turning her attention back to Shiro. “I hope I'm not interrupting. I know it isn't exactly one of my scheduled visits, but I had to get away for a while.”
“You're always welcome here,” Shiro said. “Keith, would you mind helping her inside while I take Jasmine to the barn?”
Keith nodded and held out his hand for her to take, which she did with a smile that seemed amused. Keith was sure that meant he was doing something wrong or not quite appropriate, but she didn't call him out on it and let him walk her into the cabin, where she also greeted Curtis and complimented him on how good the food smelled.
“Another guest for dinner,” Curtis said, sounding delighted. “Why don't you both wash up. We'll be ready to eat once Shiro comes back inside.”
There were two pumps that Keith knew of. One was in the kitchen and the other in the washroom, which was where he and Pidge headed to clean up as Curtis asked. He let Pidge go first.
“So, how long have you known Shiro and Curtis?” she asked, curiosity coloring her tone.
Keith shrugged. “A few years, I guess. Shiro's helped me out of a few bad scrapes.”
“Me too.”
Keith glanced at her, wondering what trouble she could have possibly gotten in that would mean Shiro had to step in and help. Though she tried to hide it beneath a plain cloak, he could tell she was of noble blood and likely under heavy protection. He wouldn't be surprised if she had guards stationed out in the forest to watch for any danger.
“He saved my brother three years ago. Ever since then I try and visit with gifts to thank him for everything that he's done. Of course, it's hard to get him to accept anything so it's always something he'll find useful and not all that difficult to find...” Pidge sighed as she stepped aside to dry off her hands, letting Keith access the pump.
“He is stubborn like that,” Keith agreed. He quickly scrubbed his hands clean and then accepted the towel from Pidge so he could dry off before they went to eat.
Dinner was full of lively conversation and delicious food. Keith had to stop himself from taking second helpings of everything, knowing that the richness of it all would only disagree with his stomach. He had to slow down a few times and focus on listening to what everyone was saying instead.
Pidge was especially chatty, full of witty jokes and a tendency to ramble on when she was particularly interested in a topic. Shiro encouraged her in subtle ways; through a question or a quick statement, leading her through a wide range of subjects that were all equally fascinating to hear, even if Keith didn't understand all of what was being said.
It was by far one of the best meals Keith had ever had. He was almost sorry when it was over and Shiro and Curtis shooed him and Pidge outside while they cleaned up, ignoring all of their protests.
Keith stared at the door, his arms crossed over his chest as he waited for some sign that Shiro would let them back in. Minutes passed without any movement and Pidge grew tired of waiting.
“You know, you get a pretty good view of the stars around here,” she mentioned. “Want to stargaze with me?”
The question was unexpected. Keith was stunned for several long seconds before he found his voice long enough to agree. He followed her down the path into the garden, where there was a stone bench surrounded by tall-growing flowers, all of which were beginning to close up without the sunlight shining down on them.
Pidge sat down first, laying her cloak across the bench to provide slight warmth to the cold stone. “Sometimes I get the feeling that Shiro knows more than he lets on. He's not going to let us back in until he thinks we've made friends,” she said, patting the space next to her.
“He does always seem to know when I'm coming to visit,” Keith admitted as he took a seat. “Why stargazing though?”
“You'd rather stare at the door until he lets us go inside?” she asked with a grin.
“No. No, this is better,” Keith agreed, tilting his head back. It had been so long since he last took the time to look at the stars, but as he sat there he was brought back to a time when his dad was still alive. How many nights had they laid out under the stars, telling stories based on the legendary figures dotting the skies? What kinds of stories did Pidge know?
He didn't have to wonder for long.
Some of her stories he had heard before. Others were new. And then he was able to share the ones he knew from his dad and had the pleasure of watching her face light up in joy at hearing new stories.
When Shiro opened the door to let them in, neither of them noticed.

It'd been a difficult six years, humanity growing as species while Alteans grew to learn more of, not only their heritage but those who made it possible. The people of Altea had grown accustomed to hosting the Paladins every deca-phoeb to celebrate the rebirth of Altea. Although.. this year would be somewhat different.

It's 2023 and I'm angry once again about the shitty writing in the last few seasons of Voltron.
Today's topic - Shiro. More specifically his romantic relationships - and the wasted potential.
I think I'm mostly annoyed at how the writing choices just don't make any sense to me. Specifically the part where they literally didn't give us any information about Shiro's love interests. Nothing. Like who does that? Who writes a romance where one half of the couple is entirely an unknown? They didn't do that for any other main ship in the show, only the lgbtq+ one and maybe it wasn't intentional but it kinda rubs me the wrong way.
Correct me if I'm remembering wrong but I think the one scene they show us of Shiro and Adam is in the midst of a fight - they don't really show their relationship in exactly a good light and it's the ONLY thing they give us of them. Why is that the only thing you show us. How did they meet? What was their relationship vibe? Milestones in their relationship, important moments, uh what kind of person Adam was? Anything? ANYTHING??
Don't get me wrong, all the Adam x Shiro fanart and speculations are absolutely amazing, and y'all are an absolute wonder, I hope everyone who does ship Adam x Shiro keep finding all the joy and happiness in that ship - but just, I find it personally hard to ship two people when I know vastly more about one of the people and nothing about the other. And there's some part of me that almost feels like Voltron did this on purpose. They put no effort into Adam and Shiro and it pisses me off. And then! They continue to put in zero effort, and kill Adam off! Okay fine! I guess he was just meant to be a side character, cannon fodder for Shiro's tragic backstory, WHATEVER I HATE IT BUT OKAY?!
BUT T H E N, they have the opportunity to start over again with another romance and they STILL DON'T SHOW US SHIT. Who does Shiro even marry wtf was his name? Curtis??????? DO WE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MAN. AN Y T H I N G. HOW MUCH SCREENTIME OF HIM DO WE GET, PRAY TELL. WHO IS CURTIS HUH. TELL ME ABOUT HIM, I AM ON MY KNEES. I AM ASKING FOR THE BARE MINIMUM HERE. CURTIS AND SHIRO AS A RELATIONSHIP DESERVES BETTER. PUT IN SOME DAMN EFFORT. WTF.
And I would perhaps be able to make my peace with it, if I didn't feel that they ignored literally the perfect candidate for a relationship with Shiro after Adam, with all of the foundations already fucking BUILT. It would have taken so little effort at that point to write a compelling relationship where BOTH characters are well known and loved. I am talking about MATT. Hear me out.
We actually KNOW Matt. We are fond of Matt. He is our meme lord. He is our bespectacled (or not so bespectacled anymore) badass. A rebel, a staff wielding king. And not only that, he has known Shiro for a damn long time. He was literally in the first scene of the show WITH Shiro. They worked together at the Academy and in the field, not knowing each other that well of course, but got thrown into that entire Galra kidnapping situation, protected each other in the field, lost contact, got reunited, became friends - meanwhile Matt became like, a ten bajillion times more confident in himself, more reassured, taken on a leadership role, a scenario where it could potentially lead to some people (AHEM perhaps a certain person with one arm) sitting up and taking notice after years of knowing the other person -
Like do not try and tell me that's not the perfect set up for a developing relationship. Someone you've known for a long time, circumstances push you to work together, get to know each other, save each other, and you get closer and eventually realize hey. I think I might like this person. That shifting dynamic, that developing relationship - what could be better? AND IT WAS BASICALLY ALREADY IN THERE. IT WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE, IT WAS XISNJSNJSBDJDNDNDBDND
Also they would be an absolute power couple, don't even lie to me.
Their personalities are so fucking compatible as well. Like Shiro's seriousness and competence and dry humour in contrast with Matt's endearingly nerdy brand of goofiness along with his own competence/skills? Can you imagine how adorable that would've been?
Not only that, Shiro is already basically Pidge's pseudo older brother. They have such strong sibling vibes, can you imagine how awesome it would've been if Shiro had actually become Pidge's brother in law???
Not to mention having Matt start up a relationship with Shiro - bisexual/pansexual representation.
All I wanted was SOME effort. Like, I would have been perfectly happy with Adam X Shiro or Curtis x Shiro if the writers had simply put in an ounce of effort into making it convincing. It's such lazy writing and it makes me so upset, thinking back on it. And it makes me even more upset realizing they could've made it amazing by picking a character that already has the perfect setup. the lack of effort almost feels intentional, because it wouldn't have even taken that much to make a convincing, well written relationship. ThIS is the representation you hinted at for so long? This is what we waited for? Are you fucking joking. I'm gonna riot, Shiro and Adam and Curtis deserved better.
I have a feeling thinking about this stuff is gonna make me spiral and sooner or later I'm gonna start ranting about the lack of effort they put into Allura and Lance as well And the lost potential of Klance of course
God, Voltron was such a shit show.
#no but seriously why is shiro x matt not a more popular ship i don't understand#shiro x matt#matt x shiro#shatt#miro#adashi#adam x shiro#shiro x adam#shiro x curtis#curtis x shiro#voltron legendary disappointment#voltron ledgendary defender#voltron#shadam

What are your and lances costumes???
Also do Arus and Kosmo have costumes 👀👀👀
Also also are the test of the ex-paladins joining in on y'all's plans
Lance’s costume is a siren with a lot of makeup and fake blood. I’m just going to be a werewolf wearing a wolf head to be honest. Arus does not have a costume since she would likely burn it,
but Kosmo is a moth because we found some tinkerbell wings that I was able to attach straps to.
Hunk has been hosting parties and he’s going to be handing out candy while sitting on a golf cart dressed as Santa Claus while Pidge if going to be an elf (she lost a bet)
Shiro I believe is not going to be doing much? I think he’s going to be attempting to watch movies with Curtis with all the lights turned off in the hopes that no kids will come to the door. He’s donated to a bunch of charities for kids lately and says that’s better than putting the money into candy.

It’s wonderful that the bi community is being represented by such a high profile legacy character, but on a personal level, I must admit I would have loved Tim to have been asexual. To me, he’s always read as Gray A, and I do think there’s a valid asexual reading of Tim to be found in the comics.
I think there’s some part of me that doesn’t want Tim to get lost in a lot of noise and light around just one specific m|m relationship. On a very personal level, I also don’t find Bernard very interesting nor their relationship very believable or compelling; it feels a bit Shiro and Curtis to me*. Didn’t Harper’s brother have a crush on Tim, for example? Way more interesting in my opinion! We haven’t had great Tim content over the years, so for me, I hope what drives his story is Tim-as-character and not Tim-as-right-on-product.
Again, I don’t intend to rain on anyone’s parade here: If you’re delighted for Tim and Bernard, more power to you. I just ain’t buying it, and selfishly, would have loved some ace!Tim rep. :) *Where at the end of VLD Shiro was shoe-horned into a relationship with a rando. NB: I know Bernard isn’t a total rando but also... his re-entry is somewhat.

Stay a Little Longer
Coran Hieronymus Wimbleton Smythe had loved many things throughout his life. He had loved singing, he had loved being of service to his kingdom, his King…oh, how he had loved his King. He liked to say that there were no secrets between him and King Alfor, but Coran’s affections never saw the light of day beyond his loyalty and guidance.
Coran had lost Alfor twice. The first time was on his wedding day, when he married the woman he’d been promised to. The second time was the last day he would ever see Alfor alive again. He listened with rapt attention the orders he was to execute: make sure Allura is safe, make sure the Castle of Lions is ready, make sure something, anything survived. Coran had followed through, heart heavy, dutifully shifting his devotion from his king to the King’s daughter.
Of all the people Coran had loved, Allura was the one closest to his heart. She grew to be like a daughter to him, and she saw him like a second father. Allura was his last piece of home and he, hers. She was his drive, his hope for a better universe, his light…
And then, she was gone.
It’s finally here! I’m super excited to bring you the first glance into Stay a Little Longer! This is a story about Coran. How he mourned and began to heal, how in that healing he found love, and the obstacles he faces to finally be happy.
This overlaps with part of the season 8 finale and establishes a different chronology for the events that take place in the epilogue. We get to see old friends and new and even a peak into Shiro and Curtis’ wedding.
This idea originally spawned from the series Worlds Apart, but can work as a stand-alone.
2nd extension here!
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
