No one could get into contact with Constantine. 

Now usually that wasn’t that big of a deal, the man constantly disappeared for a few days at a time doing something or other, but he’d been completely silent and unseen for months. Usually he’ll at least answer a call to tell them to fuck off or something. 

And they really need his expertise and are getting incredibly worried for their grumpy team member. Yes he’s an asshole, but he’s their asshole, y’know? And he has a habit of getting into Situations (sure he also usually gets out of them, but what if he didn’t this time?!) 

So they’re desperate. Kind of really desperate. Desperate enough to use the summoning sigil they found on his fridge. They’d checked it, multiple times, and it should summon the hellblazer. 

“You’re not Constantine.” . 

The white-haired teen in the circle yawned, stretching and blinking at them blandly with familiar blue eyes before sighing. “Actually I am,” he stuffed his hands into his hoodie as he looked down at the summoning circle. “Well, technically just one of the many Laughing Magicians currently in the Realms.” 

He gave a grin, looking more amused than annoyed. “Pretty much every one of us is in the Realms right now for family reunion lol. (Did he just say lol out loud??) So like, you’re gonna have to specify which of us you’re tryin’ to summon. Honestly perfect timing for me thanks, the fruitloop keeps flirting with John and it’s horrific so.” 

… That was probably their John, wasn’t it…

This is my first and last TOG post ever.

Anyone who says Chaol was in the wrong for not accepting or trusting Aelin after she was revealed to be Fae is someone I do not trust in the slightest.

Still not off of my Diasomnia kick, so I’m gonna point out something I noticed in Chapter 7 part 4 that I didn’t realize surprised me until I read it over again. 

So, when Silver is explaining his issues to MC, he mentions that not only did Lilia take him to multiple doctors/healing mages, but that if Silver’s sleeping issue was cured, Lilia’s worries would disappear. 

The Lilia we know in the present is characteristically easygoing and unbothered by most things. 

Given what we knew, I almost expected Lilia to accept Silver’s issues for what they were and at least keep up appearances that they weren’t a big deal and Silver can function just fine.

But it’s very clear now that Lilia is worried about Silver. 

He plays the role of being lax and chill very well, not making a big deal about it, but he’s clearly concerned deep down. When he took him to those doctors, he was searching for a cure. Silver has probably caught him fretting or whispering his worries to Malleus when he thinks Silver isn’t listening. 

Silver’s wellbeing is what brought bits and pieces of the real Lilia out of his dream self. The moment Silver is in danger, his body willed itself to protect him. 

This confirmation of a strong familial bond + the added detail that this child’s health and safety is extremely important to Lilia unravels a lot of interesting future developments and angst galore. 

Because I can’t help but wonder, how did Lilia trust Malleus to be around Silver? When Silver is so clearly a more fragile human and Malleus is a powerful fae with the tendency to accidentally destroy things out of anger. How could that trust then be broken in chapter 7?

How much of Silver becoming a guard is meant to protect him rather than Malleus, with Malleus clearly leagues more powerful than Silver and Silver suffering from a condition that makes him vulnerable and possibly causes him to get himself hurt. 

It’s still not clear if Lilia is in the dark about Silver’s condition or he’s desperately searching for a way to help him because he knows what’s wrong, but that amount of care and concern that’s hidden underneath his quirky persona makes me so hungry to see more of their interactions.

My hands and fingers have always twitched and when i was little i made up an elaborate lie that my trailer had an attic and there was a doll that was up there that would move when i moved but sometimes it would try to move independently but it couldnt so all it could do was twitch uselessly and thats when my limbs would twitch and people naturally didnt believe me until i made a creepy little doll with string attached loosely so i could twitch my hand and yank the string off and the dolls arm would twitch too amd thinking back i probably gave kids nightmares but we were all like ten or somethin so its probably fine.

Can you call Konin before he gets there, Pino? Maybe he can drop by the pet store and pick up a few supplies. A little bed and a few toys to keep it distracted might be a good idea. I’m not sure the store will have anything specifically for a baby bird fairy, but maybe it’d like a stuffed squeaky toy or something.

"W-wait, I uh... I'm not supposed to just adopt this little guy, am I?" He eyes the Togepi as it catches the tip of the straw in its mouth and starts to blow bubbles in the water. "This is like a, a wild animal, yeah?" Well. Sort of.

"... A baby what." Bird makes sense by itself. Fairy makes less sense but still some sense by itself. Bird fairy does not make sense to Pino. He looks back at the Togepi, raising an eyebrow. The little critter bears no resemblance to the Longana that he remembers hearing stories about from his father.

Still. If this was some sort of fae creature, he'd have to take very good care of it. Or else.

So first of all he’d like to say it wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t into magic stuff, that was all Billy’s schtick. So really, it is not Victor’s fault that he accidentally activates some sort of sigil and suddenly ends up with a very confused looking child. 

A young girl, maybe four or five, with bright red eyes, slightly pointed ears, and what looks to be some sort of living suit partially fused with her body. Alright, okay, he doesn’t have to freak out, he’ll just… call one of the Justice League Dark members and get her a spare shirt or something to wear until they come to the Watchtower!

It’s fine, he’s fine. He’s not having memories to when he first got melded with all of this tech that’s now a part of him and feeling sick at the idea of it happening to a child.

imo good character-establishing things to have for pcs are like

- the usual why are they on this adventure, why are they w this group, etc

- what's one personality trait that drives them to do the stupid but fun thing

- what's one aspect that might make them act in ways contrary to how they do normally (including Not doing the stupid thing if it wouldn't be fun)

that last one is beneficial for the collaborative aspect of ttrpgs: if everyone else wants to do x, & as a player u wanna cooperate but ur pc would be opposed, how can u navigate that? there's still times to dig ur heels in, but often I've found more value in establishing Why or How my character can be convinced to go along w smth anyway

also just. ppl contradict themselves sometimes, & having even a simple sense of that in ur pcs can both make rp richer & assist in collaborating w the other ppl at ur table

Some thoughts for the karlnapity fae au I wrote a while ago. I'm thinking about working on it again. (and might rewrite part 1 for ao3) Some of this will be spoilers.

Karl is a monarch in a Seelie court. (I haven't decided on the courts in this au yet.) As said monarch he has the ability to alter the flow of time in his court, Seelie lands, and maybe even other parts of the Faerie. But not without great risks. Messing with time is always dangerous.

Sapnap is Karl's knight, and an Unseelie. One of the few, if not only, in Karl's court. Seelies tend to look down upon Unseelie, but you're pretty fucked if you show any of that infront of Karl. He has a lot of scars and while Unseelie warriors&knights usually tend to take pride in them, Sapnap's are hidden away under clothes and armor. The one on his throat and the cut in his brow are the exceptions. Sapnap knows more about humans than Karl as he's very close friends with Dream and George.

Quackity is human and a university student. Appearently in his friend group he's one of the few not in know about the fae.

I'm thinking BadBoyHalo is a wild fae. Wild fae are those not associated with any court. In this he's not Sapnap's father, but he did take care of him for a while.

Dream is human, but he's sligthly fae touched. He has a mask that lets him traverse the faerie on his own more easily and safely. George is also human and pretty close friend with Quackity as well.

Wilbur is half fae who pass as human. When Quackity finally finds out, some of the weird stuff he's said and done suddenly makes a lot more sense. Wilbur and Quackity are friends. Wilbur owns and works at the little book café Quackity likes to study at. He also lives in the appartment above the book café.

Philza was human. The thing about the Faerie is the longer you stay in it, the more it changes you. The Faerie and its people also happened to really take a liking to him, even long before he married one of the most powerful Unseelie Queens. Technically his title is royal consort, but her people regards him as their beloved King almost as much as she is their loved Queen.

Technoblade, Tubbo, and Tommy are all human. Techno is scarier than most fae and even to a lot of fae folk... That is if you don't know him. Tubbo and Tommy are def trouble makers than need to be saved from the Faerie from time to time.

Techno pretends to be upset that his best friend went off to basically be an unseelie King, but is extremely happy for him. Wilbur is how Phil and Kristin met. No actual family ties, but found family for sure.

Ranboo doesn't know he's fae, but he is a secretly a court heir. He befriends Tubbo and then Tommy and eventually somehow gets folded into the entire friend group.

Fundy is fae. There's some human in there, but generally if you're more than half fae you are fully considered fae. Half fae who can't pass as human and/or stays in the Faerie for long enough are often counted as fully fae as well. Sneaky fox you both love and hate.

I haven't decided on Niki, but felt bad leaving her out P: regardless of what she is, she has her own bakery and supply baked goods for Wilbur's book café.

Antfrost and Awesamdude are also wild fae. Though unlike BBH who has always been one, they used to be court affiliated.

Skeppy is a seelie, but mostly stays either with Bad or in the human ream. He often try to troll Technoblade, and fails. He usually wears glamour to look human even in the Faerie.

Callahan is jötunn. (This is me bringing in more lore from my own story. Sorry not sorry) Jötnar are forces of nature, even more so than fae. He's one of the few that are still around and actually interacts with others, even if he doesn't speak.

Ponk??? Human??? Yes.

Punz is human and Purpled is his younger fae brother.

Connor is Sonic.

Had a long, complicated, and political dream about FFXIV and Garlean refugees vs some other refugees all living in a cave system. Ala Mhigan? Bozjan? Dalmascan? Corvosi? Sharlayan probably now that I think about it? The only clear detail was that there was A Lot of animosity. Also technically not at all a long dream, because it was between clock alarms going off, even if it took me in-dream hours talking to both sides incognito and trying to figure out how I could broker peace, as both sides were so convinced the other was about to attack that they were ready to defend themselves at the slightest provocation, which would have looked like an offensive move to the other side, and then it would have been a massacre for everyone.

Aaaaand then I woke up both feeling Extremely Android, and Extremely About To Switch, probably to Kanai, but it hasn't happened yet and it's like feeling like you're about to sneeze but can't.

What the hell are you on, brain. Please just settle on being one general person and species and stick with it, I'd like that a lot. Kanai doesn't even have anything to do with robots; he's nominally an elf, sort of, it's a long story trying to split his story-origin from his brain-origin, because as far as I can tell fictional introjects are just complicated like this. (Also I strongly suspect he wrote his own story which doesn't make it less confusing.) So I don't know what the heck is happening in my glitchy cholesterol computer today, just that it's very excited about something and wants to go in fourteen differently directions about it, but hey at least it's in a good mood.

I think maybe an accurate way to explain the difference between fae and fairy, to me, is, the fae faol are thin, in a metaphysical sense, ephemeral. like a liminal space thats gained sentience. Theyre creatures, none of their actions or cognitions are remotely human. Just a creature with equal intelligence and will to a human (i kno what u might b thinking; oh but the fae folk have rules they must follow, intrinsic goals that define all that they do their entire lives. Humans also have these. Consider: gravity)

A fairy is too.. solid. Too human. An approximation. The way a worm might attempt to explain a sentient string to a slug. Neither of them is related or really understands a string, it is so far removed from what they are. And yet as similar as the worm and the slug may be, the worm is still an alien concept to a slug. They exist in the same world. They exist in the same paradigm. But slugs know slugs. They know Snails, gastropods. Invertebrates possibly. The worm encompasses so much more complex categoricisms. So outside of the scope of the way a slug understands the world. Still so much more intimately related than either could be to say a zebra, and so, imagine how removed from something that could barely be counted as existing as part of the world of taxons.
