The Shape of Things
Massage gives my hands lots of Information about the Shape of Things. This is the shape of things after many years of doing the same things in the same way. This is apparent when you start working on a body doing massage. Physical Therapists have a lovely term for this: Effort Shape.
When I start work with a new client, I frequently start them face down. By the time you stroke the map of the spine you can begin to feel the torques that are there for instance.
If the left QL is shorter than the right, the pelvis is likely to have a right rotation. When the client is instructed to turn their pelvis to the left, they may dig their knee into the table to make that happen. If you stretch the quad on the left it may feel tight and restricted compared to the right hip. Because the pelvis is rotated right and all the weight is being carried on the left hip the ES will test weak on the right side. The support for the back will be coming from the grip of the external rotators in the right hip.
The Shape of Things is quite apparent. It also predicts weaknesses:
A hiked Lt QL pulls your weight to the left: Rt Erector Spinae and QL are often inhibited. This puts a torque into the pelvis with a left Iliac crest anterior tilt and right rotated pelvis.
The kinetic chains of inhibition/facilitation from these basics through to the legs, shoulders and arms are numerous.
Often, we don’t realize a problem exists with the base of support in the pelvis for our movement system until our knee starts hurting or our hip joints begin to wear out.
Mod 1 NMR will give you a coherent strategy for changing the Shape of Things. The current NMR teaching schedule is up on the NeuroMuscular-Reprogramming.com/events website.
No matter where you are in the world you can join us for the Live Streaming series broadcast via Zoom simultaneously with the in person class in Marin County CA.
Sign up for all 4 modules at once and save big money!

FLIGHTLINE: 195 - SNECMA COLÉOPTÈRE ("BEETLE")
Designed by French engine manufacturer SNECMA, the Coléoptère was an experimental VTOL aircraft using an annular wing.
In the wake of WWII, a number of aircraft design and manufacturing organizations around the world sought to create an aircraft capable of taking off and landing vertically (VTOL), using a number of cutting edge technologies, including turbojet engines. One such company was SNECMA (Société nationale d'études et de construction de moteurs d'aviation , now Safran Aircraft Engines), which along with its own R&D work, integrated the research of Austrian-born Helmut von Zborowski, who had designed an annular wing he felt was capable of acting "as power plant, airframe of a flying wing aircraft and drag-reducing housing". SNECMA began design work of an aircraft incorporating von Zborowski's wing with their own jet engines into a ramjet interceptor, capable of taking off vertically and accelerating to supersonic speeds. This work culminated in the C.450 Coléoptère. Prior to building the Coléoptère, however, a number of test vehicles were built, known as the Atar Volant (either "Shuttlecock" or "Flying Atar").
Tumblr media

Essentially an Atar 10DV engine with a metal skin providing space for fuel and remote control equipment, the first Volant, model C.400 P.1, had its first tethered flight on 22 September 1956 and completed 205 flights to validate control systems, which included an early thrust vectoring nozzle.

The P.1 was followed by the P.2, which was also powered by a 10DV, but had a platform above the intake for an ejection seat and controls, allowing a pilot to fly the Volant. The P.2 supplemented the nozzle control of the P.1 with control jet nozzles on the landing legs. a 500kg capacity fuel tank gave an endurance of almost 5 minutes. The first tethered flight was on 8 April 1957, with the first free flight on 14 May 1957. The P.2 made 102 flights by 1958, after which it was displayed at the Paris Air Show before being preserved at the Museum of Air and Space in La Bourget. A third Volant, the P.3, used a more powerful 101E engine, and had a fully-enclosed cockpit atop the stack, which also had a tilting ejection seat for both vertical and horizontal flight.

The P.3 was used in two separate phases, one testing vertical flight, then a second stage with the engine mounted in a horizontal position on a rail car to test airflow and other aspects of horizontal flight.

THE BEETLE
After the conclusion of the Volant test series, SNECMA proceeded with the construction and testing of the full annular wing aircraft, designated the C.450-01 Coléoptère. Lacking the needed experience with manufacturing a full airframe, SNECMA contracted Nord Aviation to complete the Coléoptère, with the aircraft being ready for its maiden flight in 1959.
Tumblr media

The C.450 stood eight meters tall on four small swiveling caster wheels, and while the diameter of the wing was just over three meters, four small fins for maneuvering in horizontal flight increased the 'wingspan' to 4.5 meters from tip to tip. At maximum weight the Coléoptère weighed 3,000 kilos, while the Atar EV 101E engine produced 3,700kg of thrust. An annular tank provided 700kg of fuel. Two small retractable canards on either side of the nose aided with stability during the transition from vertical to horizontal flight, while deflection of the exhaust provided directional control during vertical flight. As with the P.3 test rig, the seat and instrument panel tilted with the aircraft, keeping the pilot relatively upright in all phases. Two windows were added to the fuselage to give the pilot a frame of reference for the ground during landing and takeoff, and auxiliary doors would open to direct air into the engine as needed.
Tumblr media

The C.450 arrived at Melun Villaroche Aerodrome for testing in 1958, with the first tethered test occurring in December. Test pilot Auguste Morel, who had also flown the Volant during its test phase, found almost immediately that the Coléoptère had a tendency to slowly rotate during hover (likely a result of torque from the engine), that the vertical speed indicator was inaccurate, and that the control system was almost ineffective during vertical flight. Dead stick (i.e.: engine off) landings were impossible. Adjustments were made to the aircraft, and the first free flight was undertaken on 6 May 1959. Seven more successful test flights were completed, with the aircraft demonstrating its ability to hover before a public audience. The C.450 established a maximum ceiling of 800m (2,600 feet).
Tumblr media
-The Coléoptère in a hover. | Photo: SNECMA
The ninth and final flight occurred on 25 July 1959, and was intended to be the first full transition from vertical to horizontal flight. Poor instrumentation and a lack of visual references resulted in Morel becoming disorientated however, and the Coléoptère began to stall. The aircraft entered a series of oscillations and Morel triggered the ejection seat at 150m (490') altitude. The C.450 impacted the ground and was destroyed, and Morel was injured but survived. SNECMA had planned on having a second Coléoptère built, but the funds were never provided, and the test program ended with the 450.1's destruction. SNECMA's brief entry into experimental aircraft ended as well, though the company continued to innovate within that field, working with Rolls-Royce on the Olympus 593 engine for Concorde as well as with GE on several airliner engines, and developing the SNECMA M53 for the Mirage 2000 as well as the M88 for the Rafale fighters. The company also branched out into rocket engines, developing the Viking and Vulcain motors for the Ariane series of launch vehicles. In 2016, after a series of acquisitions and mergers, the company was renamed Safran Aircraft Engines as a subsidiary of Safran S.A.

STM FENT PERIODISME
Tumblr media

NO FER EXCURSIONS

THE THREE TYPES OF PEOPLE
A teacher shows three toy to a students and ask the students find out the difference. All the three toys are seemed to be identical in shape, size and material. After keen observation, the students observes holes in the toys.First toy has holes in the ears, second toy have holes in the ears and mouth and the third toy has only one hole  in one ear.
Then with the help of a needle, the  students put the needle in the first toy,the needle comes out of ear.In the second toy when the needle was put in the ear the needle comes out from the mouth and the third toy, when the needle was put in ,the needle did not come out.
First toy represent those people around you who give you  the impression that they are listening to you but they are pretending to do so.After listening,as the needle comes out from the ear,the things you said to them by counting on them are gone.
The second toy represent those people who listens to you and give an impression that they care for you. But as in toy the needle comes out from the mouth. These people will use your words you tell them against you by telling it to others and bringing out the confidential issue for their own purpose.
The third toy, the needle did not comes out from it.These people will keep the trust you have in them. They are the ones who you can count on.
MORAL LESSON: Always stay in a company of people who are loyal and trustworthy. People who listen to what you tell them, are not always the ones you can count on when you need them the most.

Hell yeah, I need soft things.... get ready bitches, this is all my mainverses, so it’s gonna be LONG lmfao.
--------------
SIMM X THIRTEEN (kids: Zinnia, Martha, Jack) :  --Became licensed doula just so he could be the one to deliver all his kids. Has done so, with aplomb.  In fact never lets anyone forget that he is in fact a licensed doula. Will mention it 3-5 times per conversation with anyone ever.
--Spoiled Thirteen a lot during pregnancy.  To the point that she starts to like being pregnant, lol.  --Goes interchangeably by “Daddy” and “Mum.”  Whichever the kid is feeling at the time. Secretly likes “Mum” best but doesn’t wanna pressure anybody.  --He is terrified his children will find out one day about the horrible things he’s done to their mother’s companions in the past.
--He misses being a mother specifically. His clearest memories of parenthood are as a mother of one daughter, in his second face, which is little-known-of, but is the face Missy referred to when she mentioned a brooch the Doctor gave her “when my daughter....”  He is convinced he will fail his three current babies as he did his first child, by failing to protect her during the Time War, when ostensibly she died (but who knows, maybe she didn’t....?)  --Literal best friends with eldest daughter, Zinnia, thusly named after the first earth flower to bloom in space.  She is him, miniature, down to the fat cheeks, tiny nose, and exact shade of blond hair.  Her faceclaim is Elle Fanning.  She’s artistic (she assigns colors to people’s telepathic “feeling,” with the Master as Red, the Doctor as Blue, herself as Purple) and almost bizarrely prescient about the moods and thoughts of others, especially for a child of three. Her vocab is up to that of a seven or eight year old human child’s.   --Learned to sew to make a lot of her stuffed animals. Learned to cook to make her organic baby food and branched out to adult meals. Previously was a disastrously bad cook.
--Has built the most complex maze of Erector Set toys (think the little builder people from Fraggle Rock lol) for babies.  This, he believes, will be their little playground paradise.  It’s set so that anytime Zinnia opens the nursery door and walks in, a little purple ball rolls along the whole landscape.  During Christmas time (this Koschei loves Christmas even though he hates humans, lol) he also builds in a trainset with a little waving Santa Claus in the engine car.  He delights in spoiling his children with elaborate toys and games.  --Right before Zinnia was born, revamped the entire merged DoctorxMaster superTARDIS to be child proofed, and made the nursery armored so that even in the unlikely event of an enemy penetrating the TARDIS, the nursery would lock and be impenetrable to anyone but either parent.  Woke up at night terrified by nightmares of convoluted ways she could be killed on the TARDIS.  Like, truly implausible ways.  --Took extensive scientifically sound documentation of every stage of both of Thirteen’s pregnancies.  Measured her belly, took videos, asked her roughly every other day if they could go take a new sonogram.
--Gained about 25 lbs of sympathy weight over the first pregnancy. All custard cream stress-eating.
--Upon Thirteen’s urging, named their next kids, fraternal twins, Martha and Jack, after companions they both felt they’d especially wronged, as a vow to do better.
--Zinnia adores Bill Potts, or “Auntie Bill.” After the Master offers careful conversation (and profuse sincere apology) to Bill, who is living with Heather on a distant planet, they very slowly reconcile their friendship from their time on the Mondasian ship.  He convinces her to talk to the Doctor, who also apologizes and reconciles with Bill. Zinnia has decided she will be Bill’s best friend forever.
--Koschei will impenitently kill anyone who threatens his children’s lives, and has. And not in a quick merciful way.
--Ironically he regularly has nightmares about converting all three of them, but especially Zinnia, into Cybermen: something he would die before ever doing.
--This Koschei is his babie’s best A) playmate (no game is too silly or undignified), B) storyteller, and C) cheerleader/advocate.  He can pull any child out of the deepest meltdown or tantrum or sad spot or post-nightmare fear with a snuggle and just a few words.  His sanguine disposition and bombastic charm are a comfort to them.
--This Koschei and Thirteen are planning on terraforming Gallifrey in their timeline, which is POST-Timeless-Children canon.  They want to plant a silver tree and build an entire “home base” farm around it, where their babies can play and grow up knowing the land of their heritage.
SIMM x NINE:
--He absolutely wants a kid, wants to be “mum,” with all the same memories from his Second face, but is afraid to ask Nine about loom tech now that Nine destroyed Gallifrey. Will it upset, guilt, or trigger his husband to bring up anything lost to the carnage?
SIMM x TWELVE:
--He absolutely wants a kid, wants to be “mum,” and is wholly intending to ask the Doctor at the right moment in their relationship, when the Doctor is more secure that he’s forgiven and that Koschei harbors no lingering resentments or mistrust (he really doesn’t, but this Doctor is very tired and emotionally fragile, and is having a hard time believing him).  As all Time Lords are intersex (EU canon, though I can’t remember the source now, gah), he’s considering carrying the first child the “non-loomy way,”  though managing this will be difficult given the only thing all Time Lords share reproductively is a uterus.  If that can’t be managed, he wants them to build a loom. And he will demand that they do, lmao.
DHAWAN x THIRTEEN (children: Nova): --Thirteen is “mum” and Koschei is “mama.”
--During Thirteen’s pregnancy, Koschei took progress photos of her belly and painted her at every stage, in the nude.   He’s an accomplished visual artist in this face.
--She asked that he also paint a planet on her pregnant belly.  He obliged of course.
--He hid all her disgusting sweets and candies during her pregnancy, with riddles and notes explaining “bad for baby xoxo,” and she almost killed him.
--But he also spoiled her a lot.
--Koschei is an accomplished seamstress ;) and sews all of Nova’s clothes.  She is very haute couture because of mama.
--Nova is born deaf.  She and her mama have been telepathically “conversing” since she was in the womb, however, so they already have their own developed language.  Koschei learns comprehensive BSL in one day by putting his brain on three separate simultaneous tracks (as he’s shown able to do in The Timeless Children) and devoting each to mastery of the vocabulary. He then teaches it to his daughter when she’s old enough to learn.
--Thirteen often calls Koschei “mama kangaroo.” This is because he carries Nova everywhere inside whatever shirt he’s wearing, like it’s a kangaroo pouch.  He does this until she’s like seven or eight and just too big for it.  He cries when he has to stop.  She’s pretty bummed out too, but she starts to ride around on his back instead.
--During the aftermath of the Timeless Children events, Koschei sought therapy, even voluntarily staying at a facility for mental wellness when he could have easily sabotaged the efforts and broken out.  He learned all kinds of self-soothing mindfulness and meditation techniques there. He teaches these telepathically to Nova and they sit together yogi style meditating. Sometimes this is a hybrid event with tea parties. They both wear their best dress.
--They also enjoy taking a dip in the TARDIS’s pool together.  He plays Jaws to make her laugh.
--I have more but I’ll stop. FOR NOW.
DHAWAN x NINE:
--Same exact deal as Simm and Nine.  Same. Exact. Deal, but mixed up with Simm and Twelve :3c So he wants to very literally become a mum with his big tough husband-to-be.
----------
Both of my muses live and die for their children.  They adore being dadmums.  They are the best version of themselves with and for their babies.

guuuuys, this arc in the first quarter of It where a preteen boy makes friends for the first time in his life is so fucking good. I quote a lot of stuff but that’s because it’s amazing!!! They’re such good kids!
If someone had asked him, “Ben, are you lonely?,” he would have looked at that someone with real surprise. The question had never even occurred to him. He had no friends, but he had his books and his dreams; he had his Revell models; he had a gigantic set of Lincoln Logs and built all sorts of stuff with them. His mother had exclaimed more than once that Ben’s Lincoln Logs houses looked better than some real ones that came from blueprints. He had a pretty good Erector Set, too. He was hoping for the Super Set when his birthday came around in October. With that one you could build a clock that really told time and a car with real gears in it. Lonely? he might have asked in return, honestly foozled. Huh? What?
A child blind from birth doesn’t even know he’s blind until someone tells him. Even then he has only the most academic idea of what blindness is; only the formerly sighted have a real grip on the thing. Ben Hanscom had no sense of being lonely because he had never been anything but. If the condition had been new, or more localized, he might have understood, but loneliness both encompassed his life and overreached it. It simply was, like his double-jointed thumb or the funny little jag inside one of his front teeth, the little jag his tongue began running over whenever he was nervous.
He’s polite and smart and the grownups like him!
“Hullo, Benny,” Mrs. Starrett said. Like Mrs. Douglas at school, she genuinely liked Ben. Grownups, especially those who sometimes needed to discipline children as part of their jobs, generally liked him, because he was polite, soft-spoken, thoughtful, sometimes even funny in a very quiet way. These were all the same reasons most kids thought he was a puke.
Then, after getting beaten up by a pack of older kids, he happens upon and bonds with two other kids who were building a dam in the stream that got wrecked by the same bullies
Both Bill and Eddie burst out laughing this time, and Ben joined them. It hurt his stomach to laugh but he laughed anyway, shrilly and a little hysterically. Finally he had to sit down on the bank, and the plopping sound his butt made when it hit the dirt got him going all over again. He liked the way his laughter sounded with theirs. It was a sound he had never heard before: not mingled laughter—he had heard that lots of times—but mingled laughter of which his own was a part.
And he helps rebuild the dam, with a much better design – his spatial intelligence / building-thinking is very good, and he’ll be a renowned architect in his adult life
“Yeah, I know him,” Ben said. “You guys come down here a lot, huh?” The idea fascinated him—and made him feel a stupid sort of longing as well.
“Puh-Puh-Pretty much,” Bill said. “Wuh-Why d-don’t you c-c-come back down tuh-huh-morrow? M-Me and E-E-Eddie were tuh-trying to make a duh-duh-ham.”
Ben could say nothing. He was astounded not only by the offer but by the simple and unstudied casualness with which it had come.
(QUOTER’S NOTE: AT THIS POINT I SHIPPED THEM)
“Maybe we ought to do something else,” Eddie said. “The dam wasn’t working so hot anyway.”
Ben got up and walked down to the stream, brushing the dirt from his huge hams. There were still matted piles of small branches at either side of the stream, but anything else they’d put together had washed away.
“You ought to have some boards,” Ben said. “Get boards and put em in a row . . . facing each other . . . like the bread of a sandwich.”
Bill and Eddie were looking at him, puzzled. Ben dropped to one knee. “Look,” he said. “Boards here and here. You stick em in the streambed facing each other. Okay? Then, before the water can wash them away, you fill up the space between them with rocks and sand—”
“Wuh-Wuh-We,” Bill said.
“Huh?”
“Wuh-We do it.”
“Oh,” Ben said, feeling (and looking, he was sure) extremely stupid. But he didn’t care if he looked stupid, because he suddenly felt very happy. He couldn’t even remember the last time he felt this happy. “Yeah. We. Anyway, if you—we—fill up the space in between with rocks and stuff, it’ll stay. The upstream board will lean back against the rocks and dirt as the water piles up. The second board would tilt back and wash away after awhile, I guess, but if we had a third board . . . well, look.”
He drew in the dirt with a stick. Bill and Eddie Kaspbrak leaned over and studied this little drawing with sober interest:
Tumblr media
“You ever built a dam before?” Eddie asked. His tone was respectful, almost awed.
“Nope.”
“Then h-h-how do you know this’ll w-w-work?”
Ben looked at Bill, puzzled. “Sure it will,” he said. “Why wouldn’t it?”
“But h-how do you nuh-nuh-know?” Bill asked. Ben recognized the tone of the question as one not of sarcastic disbelief but honest interest. “H-How can y-you tell?”
“I just know,” Ben said. He looked down at his drawing in the dirt again as if to confirm it to himself. He had never seen a cofferdam in his life, either in diagram or in fact, and had no idea that he had just drawn a pretty fair representation of one.
he’s so nice and smart and lonely and he’s discovering friendship for the first time this summer – augh!! In between attacks from the shapeshifting man-eating clown, this is such a heartwarming novel!

New Perspectives on Back Pain: Does the Thoracolumbar Fascia (TLF) Hold the Key to Healing?
If you've ever before had a hurting low back, you're acutely aware of how agonizing it could be. Though we commonly indicate tight muscle mass or disc issues as the source of discomfort, new understandings into the fascia are transforming just how we believe about back pain. This is excellent news for the 20-30% people dealing with low back discomfort at any type of provided time.
Low neck and back pain influences over 80% of people in their life time. It is the 5th leading root cause of physician brows through in the United States, and among the leading causes of chronic pain as well as disability. In most cases the origin of pain in the back remains a mystery.
New study recommends that there might be one more dimension to low back pain that was not formerly recognized. Specifically, emphasis is looking to the function of thoraculumbar fascia (TLF), which could play a crucial role in the experience of persistent back pain.
The fascia, additionally described as connective tissue, has formerly been considered the inert 'wrapping' product of the body. Significantly, researchers are recognizing its role in a large array of body functions, in certain structural health and also balance.
" Fascia is the biological fabric that holds us together," claims Tom Myers, writer of Anatomy Trains, a publication that discovers the fascia lines of the body. "You have to do with 70 trillion cells all humming in relative harmony, fascia is the 3-D crawler internet of coarse, gluey, and also wet healthy proteins that hold them completely in their appropriate placement."
Fascia borders most frameworks of the body consisting of nerves, blood vessels, muscle fibers, and also muscle mass, as well as it develops a facility, interconnected internet throughout the body.
Much like a coat, a "pull" in one area of fascia fiber can radiate to other areas of the body. This has much reaching effects for how we consider reduced back pain.
The Thoracolumbar Fascia and also Reduced Back Pain
As scientists are uncovering much more and more about the duty fascia has to play in bodily features, among the locations of focus is the duty of the thoracolumbar fascia in back pain.
The thoracolumbar fascia (TLF) is a specific kind of fascia referred to as an aponeurosis. An aponeurosis is a broad sheet of thick fibrous connective tissue that covers and also creates the endpoints as well as add-ons of numerous muscles. You could consider it as a level sheet of tendons merged together.
Low neck and back pain is simpler to comprehend when you consider it in regards to the thoracolumbar fascia. Commonly pain in the reduced back really feels as though it comes from the muscular tissues of the low back, yet lot of times frameworks like the hamstrings, piriformis, as well as gluteus (butts) muscle mass, or joints like the sacroiliac (SI) joint are likewise involved. Back pain could often emit from the reduced back to the top back and shoulders. These are all frameworks that are connected by the TLF.
Tumblr media
In truth, most of the major muscular tissues of the back, trunk, and also legs intersect with the TLF. On the back, it links the latissimus dorsi, trapezius, rhomboid major, and also quadratus lumborum muscles, along with the spine erectors as well as multifidi. For the trunk, it links the external obliques to the back, and it forms the accessory point for the gluteus maximus as well as the hamstrings. The thick fibers of fascia likewise attach to lots of crucial bony frameworks of the back as well as back, including the thoracic spinous processes, the sacrum, ribs, as well as hips (iliac crest).
Given this level of interconnectedness, it's not tough to see that discrepancies partly of the muscular tissues affixed to the TLF often are connected as sheer anxiety to the TLF. This is substantiated by brand-new research study, which finds that the TLF contains numerous nocioreceptors, making it a with the ability of sending out pain signals to the brain. Partly II of this article we will assess a new research that locates that the TLF is a lot more sensitive to discomfort compared to muscle mass and also other connective tissues (tendons and also tendons).
The Thoracolumbar Fascia in Movement
The TLF is main to activities like strolling, resting and standing. When weight is moved from one leg to another, the mechanical tons of the body are transferred from the reduced back, pelvis and hips across the TLF to the upper back, arms as well as shoulders. The force transfers diagonally in an x-axis throughout the facility of the TLF at the reduced back.
This suggests that the TLF is in charge of taking care of a significant quantity of weight and force through the reduced back. This is also takes place when you're turning your spine. If you're climbing a hillside or a trip of staircases, or bring any kind of weight on your back or shoulders, this pressure is multiplied considerably.
Why haven't we been considering reduced back pain in regards to the TLF till currently? Off, up till just recently, fascia has actually only been viewed as inert covering product. On top of that, unlike muscle mass and bones, the TLF is not easily seen with present imaging techniques like ex-rays and also MRIs (magnetic vibration imaging). That means that although doctors could see the TLF in an image, they could not see it clearly enough to identify a problem.
Preventing Low Back Pain
Understanding exactly how your back works could be a great initial step in protecting against low pain in the back. Bear in mind just how you relocate, and also consider your stance when moving or raising hefty things. In addition to mindful movement there are a variety of other actions to consider.
Get rid of excess weight - When you consider the biomechanics of activity it ends up being clear that the much more you consider, the higher pressure you position on your low back, spinal column, hips, and TLF, every one of which are implicated in low back pain.
Watch your posture - Be mindful of how you sit, stand and also removal. The alignment of your back as well as hips can have a great bargain to do with the force that your reduced back takes in, and the pressure that is put on it.
Get up and move - Believe it or not, resting places 4 times the quantity of mechanical pressure and tension on your back compared to standing. Your reduced back is the recipient of a great deal of this tension. Stand, stroll about, and also obtain into a routine of moving.
Strengthen your spine - Whether via gentle yoga or much more energetic workout and strengthening programs, make sure to pay interest to your spine and your stomach muscles. Core reinforcing exercises found in yoga as well as Pilates could be ideal.

Wednesday’s workout
Push:
a1 bench press 4x6
a2 glute ham raise 4x4-6
b1 weighted decline sit up 3x8
b2 skullcrusher 3x12
c1 Bulgarian split squat 3x8/8
c2 barbell push press 3x8
d: ending with shoulder accessory work. hitting the front, mid and rear delt specifically & tricep & DB bench press. if i can i’d also like to end with some push-squat movements like the leg press, goblet squat or front squat. but not so taxing i cant do my posterior chain work tomorrow.
Yesterday’s workout D E M O L I S H E D my back. I took some creative liberty and improvised some to accommodate the other bodies in the gym and available equipment. I knew I really wanted to hit the back to begin with, so I worked every which way to hit every single muscle I could think of. It took me over an hour. I normally try to keep my workouts 45-50 minutes. I was the only woman on the lifting floor. I knew there aren't too many women who lift at my gym. Maybe only a handful. There is one older woman in particular I see from time to time and she’s really fit. She must be in her 40s-50s or older... but I have a hard time estimating her age because she’s so fit. Yesterday I was in a sea of sausage. There were like four or five younger guys probably 18-21s. And one huge guy that came in and powerlifted some massive weight and left. It felt good to feel like I was working harder than most of those dudes there. I keep track of my time, heart rate and resting periods on my watch and I definitely saw those guys enter and exit and I was still working. I thought I'd be dead by the time I was done but I finished with just 10 minutes of sprints. I was wondering if something was wrong because the man next to me lightly jogging looked over 3 times at me. Maybe it was because I was breathing really hard and running  a full on sprint so hard the treadmill was probably shaking. I added on a pallof press too and it felt really awesome on my core.
I did some research on the posterior chain. It’s not actually an anatomical system. What it is, is a term coined to describe 2 muscle systems that run along the backside of the body from your head to your ankles. Two different systems that are used for the same function, but trained in completely different ways.
The first one being the Superficial Back Line which includes the muscles from the traps, mid back line and hamstrings and calves- all the muscles used to keep you upright. (main lift being the deadlift) (consists mostly of the erector spinae and the hamstrings)  (aka what allows you to lift your head & support the spine) (postural muscles, very aerobic, slow, steady, static movements). If you only focus on movements for the Superficial Back Line, you’ll completely miss the second part of it.
The second one being the Posterior Oblique Sling which is a band of muscles that includes the entire lats, the sheet of muscles along the back that help draw the arm back, the glutes, and the outter thigh. These are worked using rotational exercises and used to keep you more mobile. It’s more of an active function, rather than static- helping us walk and run and combining work from the glutes and lats at the same time (think: running motion- lat pulling an arm back while glute is moving the leg forward) ***ITS BALANCE BITCH**
This reminds me so much of why I would combine an exercise like a seated row (mid back line) with a wide lat pull down (posterior oblique sling- it literally shapes around your back and sides like a sling, forming the lats, muscles that stretch around the to form the glutes and outter hamstring/thigh- it reminds me of forming the coveted X pattern people look for)
I think I'll change up some things about my December training program. I’d like to add in a Sumo Deadlift simply because I can use it to hit those muscle planes I was talking about, a little better. I might add in a bent over dumbbell row, as well. I feel my current programming right now may be leaving some vital parts out of the equation. For example, I'm not doing a lot to hit the Posterior Oblique Sling above the waist. The only things I have in my programming are inverted rows and pull ups. AND I'm doing a ton to hit it below the waist. Lots of work with hip thrusts, pause squats etc. I want to make especially sure I'm not neglecting and creating imbalances as I go. I’d also like to hit rear delts a little more effectively. For the Superficial Back Line, I'm hitting hamstrings well but not doing much for the mid back supported muscles. I do back extensions a couple times a week for it, but I'd like to add something else on for it. My superficial back line doesn't need as much adjustment as the posterior oblique sling. Yesterday I corrected a lotttt of this.
I still plan on getting my workouts in like normal even on holidays like thanksgiving. Thanksgiving day workout is “Posterior Chain” focused, as they say. But really just focused on the glutes, latissimus dorsi, and hammies (bc the sumo squat pulls strength from more of the hams, glutes, inner thigh etc), and spinal erectors of the low back and coreeeeee
a1. reverse front lunge 4x6/6 (all heavy sets @ RPE 8)
a2. explosive pull thru 6x2
b1. chest supported rows 5x8
c1. barbell hip thrust 4x5
c2. adding a sumo deadlift here 4x5
core: plank & hold complex
core: hanging knee/leg raises to failure
It’s really crazy how much information is out there and how much is incomplete or misinterpreted. But, I love adjusting my own work programming as I go.

WHAT IS STEEL DETAILING?
Steel Detailing is the creation of shop drawings for a steel fabricator. A steel fabricator is an organization who gives, and here and there introduces, the steel system for a development project. A steel detailer’s obligation is to create the drawings that the fabricator will use to cut and weld every one of the important individuals together.
Tumblr media
Steel Detailing is an expert space of underlying drafting. A Steel Detailing Company deciphers compositional and underlying designing drawings to acquire an exhaustive working information on the general plan expectation of a structure or construction. Utilizing this interpreted data, the Steel Detailing Company then, at that point creates a through and through arrangement of clear, unequivocal and precise drawings with the end goal of steelwork manufacture. A steel detailer comprehensively creates the design directions to work with the establishment and erection of the steel system.
An extremely summed up portrayal of this connection among fabricator and detailer can be depicted this way — the draftsman plans the appearance of the construction, and the designer figures the necessary sizes and areas of the steel to make the design protected and solid. At last, the steel detailer utilizes the two arrangements of plans to furnish definite drawings with careful measurements and lengths for every individual part that the welder and installer and really use.
All steel individuals needed to assemble the construction are manufactured and raised from shop and erection drawings made by the underlying steel detailer. Generally, these drawings were made by manual drafting techniques, utilizing pencils, paper, and drafting apparatuses as an equal bar or drafting machine, triangles, formats of circles and other valuable shapes, and numerical tables, like tables of logarithms and other helpful computing helps. In the end, hand held number crunchers were fused into the conventional practice.
Manual drafting got generally supplanted by PC supported drafting (CAD). A Steel Detailing organization utilizes PC supported techniques to make drawings on a PC, utilizing programming explicitly intended for the reason, and printing out the drawings on paper just when they are finished. All things considered, all the data identified with drawing, numbering and amounts should have been physically taken care of into the framework. Steel specifying organizations presently utilize 3-D Modeling applications explicitly intended for steel itemizing. The detailer in a real sense constructs the task in 3D prior to delivering itemized shop drawings from the model. Programming resembles Tekla have an element called Autoconnection, which can be utilized to make associations and subtleties consequently, without the need to redraw without any preparation.
Steel Detailing organizations plan two essential sorts of drawings — erection drawings and shop drawingsErection drawings
are utilized to direct the steel erector on the building site concerning where and how to raise the manufactured steel individuals. These drawings generally show dimensioned plans to find the steel individuals, and they regularly additionally show subtleties with explicit data and prerequisites, including all work that should be done nearby, (for example, darting, welding or introducing workmanship secures). Since the erection drawings are expected for use in the field, they contain almost no particular data about the creation of any individual steel part; individuals should as of now be finished when the erection drawings are utilized.
Shop drawings
likewise called detail drawings, are utilized to indicate the specific necessities for manufacturing every individual part (or get together) of a design, and are utilized by the steel fabricator to create these individuals. Complete shop drawings show material determinations, part measures, every single required measurement, welding, darting, surface readiness and painting necessities, and some other data needed to depict each finished part. The shop drawings are planned for use by the manufacture shop, and subsequently contain practically no data about the erection and establishment of the steel individuals they portray; this data has a place in the erection drawings.
Picking the RIGHT Steel Detailing Company is urgent
The steel enumerating organization assumes a vital part in the general task progress. The detailer should be acquainted with guidelines and rules from all parts of development. Every normal norm/rehearses should be remembered for the detailer’s range of abilities. Among the various Steel Detailing Companies, a decent detailer can make even the most intricate undertaking entirely possible for any fabricator. A decent and solid detailer is gone before by its standing and the quantity of rehash clients it has. Its experience and aptitude make each assumption a reality.
This is the place where organizations like Mechciv Designers come in. With long periods of worldwide experience, mechciv is a TRUSTED BRAND in enumerating;, we make an honest effort to full fill our client’s necessities with organization MOTTO of “It’s more about the Customer’s Delight than Satisfaction”

7 Reasons You *Need* to Be Doing Deadlifts
Deadlifts legit altered my workout regimen. I 'd spent years creating my skills as a cardio bunny, yet after enjoying a YouTube video clip concerning how Chris Evans got torn for his function as Captain The U.S.A., I chose to resort to a professional. Until after that, I would certainly tried everything: yoga exercise, pilates, barre-- I 'd also dipped my toe right into lifting weights at my regional gym, however my expertise was a combination of Google searches as well as an university gym class that produced couple of outcomes. The very first workout my trainer included in my workout regimen? Deadlifts.
EDITOR'S PICK
displayTitle
I 'd never done them before (OK, I would certainly never ever even touched a barbell), and I was hesitant. Surely a single workout couldn't change my workout in a method years of experimentation had failed? But fortunately, I was (dead, heh) wrong. Deadlifts transformed my shape-- whittling my waistline as well as offering my butt a much-needed boost-- while improving my position, raising my overall stamina, and making me really feel like a positive badass.
So why must you be doing deadlifts?
1. Deadlifts function your whole body.
' The deadlift targets numerous muscle teams in a single lift, using even more value than an isolation exercise,' claims Zach Mayer, a master instructor at Burn 60 Studios (studio of choice for Reese Witherspoon, Alessandra Ambrosio, as well as Naomi Watts). 'Including deadlifts 1 or 2 days a week into a weight training session will certainly develop toughness in the hamstrings, glutes, reduced back, and upper back.'
They also depend on core strength to support your body throughout the lift, which means you'll be functioning your abdominal muscles in addition to whatever else. As if you needed a lot more persuading, deadlifts often function your glutes greater than squats do. Inning accordance with Mayer, this implies you could get faster results on your behind compared to relying on squats alone.
Building muscle aids increase your metabolic process too, which subsequently assists you lose more fat long-lasting.
2. Deadlifts construct awesome strength.
One research study revealed that deadlift training created massive enhancements in toughness as well as security-- specifically in ladies that were relatively new to lifting. Since you're making use of muscular tissues on both the front as well as back of your body, deadlifts protect your joints from unnecessary stress as well as future injury, which is an amazing included benefit.
Even if strength isn't really your main objective (or if you hesitate lifting weights will certainly make you cumbersome ... which, no, it will not), this is still a great advantage-- particularly because it makes you seem like a badass.
3. Deadlifts aid enhance your posture.
A strong back can absolutely aid with your pose, but an additional way deadlifts help repair poor stance is by helping correct it. To execute deadlifts effectively, you should ensure your type is right-- and also excellent form during deadlifts often means good posture.
' You can anticipate a visible modification in strolling upright and sitting without rounded shoulders after on a regular basis executing this lift,' Mayer says, which is specifically important for those people that invest a great deal of time stooped in front of a computer system screen.
4. Deadlifts could in fact make you stronger in genuine life.
Instead of dealing with totally aesthetic gains, deadlifts involve motions and also muscle mass regimens that are a big part of our lives. This means deadlifts will make it simpler for you to carry out standard jobs, which straight opposes the assumption that fitness center training doesn't really prepare you for the actual world.
' Deadlifts are very functional,' Mayer states. 'Increasing stamina by deadlifting will prepare you for circumstances like bring grocery stores, grabbing a person who dropped, or aiding a pal on moving day.'
5. Deadlifts help to stop injury.
Some may avoid deadlifts from fear of back injury, yet research studies have revealed that deadlifts could be helpful for decreasing low-back pain in some cases.
' The deadlift calls for complete control of the deep abdominals, the hips, as well as the pelvis, which is paramount in the therapy and also avoidance of reduced neck and back pain,' says Nicholas Licameli, a physical therapist at Expert Physical Therapy.
Because the deadlift trains the posterior chain-- that includes the spinal erectors, lats, rhomboids, glutes, as well as hamstrings-- Licameli says it helps to avoid injury in muscle teams that are usually ignored.
' As a matter of fact, two predictors of tearing the ACL are in fact an inequality of strength in the quads and hamstrings, and gluteal weakness/instability,' Licameli adds. 'The deadlift will have you covered.'
Remember that building toughness requires time, so do not jump right into also heavy weights or made complex lifts prior to you're all set. Make certain to enjoy your posture and method to develop muscular tissue and also ward versus injury.
6. Deadlifts will conserve you priceless, precious time.
Compound workouts like deadlifts function more than one muscle team at once. As opposed to servicing three various machines, you could work the same muscular tissue teams in less time by executing the deadlift-- making it the ultimate time saver.
7. Deadlifts are very easy to include into your workout.
You do not require accessibility to a barbell to make use of deadlifts, however it certainly doesn't harmed. Dumbbells or kettlebells can be utilized to do the exercise, especially variations like the straight leg or Romanian deadlift variation.
' Ask a fitness instructor or instructor for his/her assistance,' Mayer advises. 'Your pal who is an 'serious lifter' might be well-intentioned, but possibilities are they don't know the most effective way to coach a beginner through the deadlift. While educational videos may likewise appear practical, for novice lifters who are establishing body understanding, it is best to function with an experienced specialist.'
Basically, deadlifts are the unicorn of the health and fitness globe. They're a fantastic means to get a whole host of outcomes without investing a great deal of time in the gym, as well as fitness newbies could utilize them. Still not certain? Enjoy this badass granny deadlift 225 extra pounds like an employer. Allow her be your deadlift motivation and enjoy gaining all of the benefits deadlifts need to offer.

[caption id="attachment_50398" align="alignnone" width="620"] Photo: Pond5[/caption] Hunching over laptops and smartphones for hours on end does your back no favors. In fact, it’s one of the biggest — and most important — muscle groups we’re guilty of ignoring in our workouts. And the issue isn’t just aesthetics (though a toned back can help you look better in that suit or strapless dress). “Back strengthening exercises are crucial to maintaining functional movement and preventing back injuries for all populations,” says Matthew Wert, M.D., an Orthopedic Surgeon and Director of Sports Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital. Your back is used in nearly every movement you perform throughout the day, from bending over to tie your shoes, to carrying your backpack or purse. However, the back (particularly the lower back) is one of the most commonly injured parts of the body for all age groups, according to Wert. “Workplace exercises and back health maintenance are crucial. Because although a desk job may seem relatively easy on the body, maintaining a sitting position for long periods of time strains the back and places pressure on our discs,” says Wert. RELATED: 5 Standing Desk Stretches to Relieve Stress Now Your job: Make your posterior a priority, Wert says. In addition to getting up and moving around at least once every 60 minutes, get back to basics with a few strengthening bodyweight moves and stretches. The five back exercises below are best for targeting the lats, rhomboids and lumbar muscles in your lower back. You'll also get a good workout for those spinal erector muscles that surround, stabilize and support the spine. The best part? No heavy weights or workout equipment are needed!
The 5 Best Bodyweight Back Exercises
1. Reverse Snow Angels
How to: Position yourself facedown on the ground with arms at your sides and palms facing down. Peel your shoulders and hands a few inches off the ground by pinching your scapulae together and engaging your lats and rhomboids in your mid-back (a). Keeping your head facing down, in a slow, controlled motion, bring your arms up past your shoulders and up to your ears until your thumbs meet directly above your head (b). Then, bring your arms back to the starting position. The key here is keeping the arms straight and elbows locked through the entire movement to engage your lats and shoulders (c). Repeat for 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30-60 seconds of rest between sets. Beginner modification: Move the arms only halfway so that they are even with your shoulders. Then return to the original starting position. RELATED: 7 No Crunch Exercises for Six-Pack Abs
2. Dolphin Kick
How to: Position yourself face down on a bench so that the crease of your hip is at the end of the bench. Your feet should be resting on the ground with your hands firmly engaged on the underside of the bench for support (a). Straighten out your legs while raising them up while engaging your abdominals, glutes, hips and spinal erectors in your lower back. Your toes should be pointed away from your body and above your head at the top of the movement (b). Hold this static position for 5 seconds by firmly engaging nearly every muscle in your body. Then drop the feet slightly below the bench and contracting again for 4 additional reps (c). Repeat for 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30-60 seconds of rest between sets. Beginner modification: Move the hips slightly further up the bench so the trunk is better supported.
3. Superman
How to: Lie facedown with your chin on the ground and eyes at a neutral gaze. Your ankles should be touching with toes pointed under you (a). Reach your arms straight out above your shoulders so your palms are resting flat on the floor. Engage your back, glutes and shoulders to pull yourself a few inches off the ground (b). Your arms and legs should remain fully contracted so that your hands and feet are elevated to the same relative height at the top of the static hold position. Hold this position while fully engaging your body to “fly” like the man of steel (c). Repeat for 3 reps with a 15-30 second static hold, and 30-60 seconds rest between sets. Beginner modification: Perform an “Aquaman” by raising and lowering the opposite arm and leg simultaneously in the same fashion as the “Superman.” Hold for 5 seconds, and shoot for 3 sets of 10 reps with a 1-minute rest. RELATED: The Body-Sculpting TRX Abs Workout
4. Hip Hinge (aka Good Mornings)
How to: Stand up straight with your hands on your hips. Your feet should be slightly wider than your hips and firmly planted on the ground. Start the movement by engaging your core, pushing your ribs down and pulling your shoulders slightly back with a neutral neck position (a). Bend forward at the waist in a slow and controlled manner while keeping your shoulders in line with your hips (b). Keep your back, glutes and hamstrings engaged throughout the exercise. Bend forward until you are parallel, or just above parallel to the floor, before bringing yourself back up to the starting position and repeating (c). Note: A common error to this exercise is rounding the back, resulting in a loss of the neutral spine position. Form is crucial to this exercise and should be replicated perfectly on each rep to avoid injury and get the most out of the exercise. Repeat for 3 sets of 10-15 reps, with a 30-60 second rest between sets. Beginner modification: Perform seated good mornings instead. Sit in a chair with your shoulders over your hips, legs bent at a 45-degree angle. Plant your feet firmly underneath your knees, hands on your hips. Engage your core and slightly pull your shoulders back, then proceed to bend forward to a 45-degree angle before coming back to the starting position. RELATED: The Beginner's Guide to Pistol Squats
5. Nose and Toes Against the Wall
How to: Up for a real challenge? Even experienced gym rats should proceed with caution. For this advanced move, you’ll start in a push-up position with your feet against the wall (a). Next, walk your feet up the wall while keeping your core tight, hips flexed and spine neutral (b). Place your palms firmly on the ground just outside shoulder width as you begin to inch your hands toward the wall. The top of the position will be reached when just your nose and toes touch the wall with firm hand placement on the floor and rigid core for a “hollow body” position (c). Upon completion, safely come down by walking your hands away from the wall and bringing your feet down in a controlled manner (d). Repeat for 3 reps with a 15-30 second static hold, and 30-60 seconds rest between sets. Beginner modification: Stand with your back against a wall with feet spread apart wide. Bend your knees and place your hands firmly on the floor, slightly wider than your shoulders. Straighten out your legs to just a “soft knee” and begin to walk your hands in towards your feet, head in neutral alignment with your spine. Actively push your glutes to the ceiling as your core and back remain rigid and your shoulders open up. You may notice a good stretch, too. Who says you can’t get strong and mobile at the same time? Unless the US resorted to an all out nuclear attack, there is no way that we could be certain of taking out all of NK's nuclear weapons. Any such all out attack would result in many millions of casualties in both North Korea and South Korea and almost certainly in Japan, China and Russia. Due to the fact that those US nukes would have to be detonated on the ground, in order to destroy widespread and deeply buried underground fortifications, as airbursts wouldn't be effective against deep bunkers
the resulting radioactive fallout would be particularly nasty and widespread. Not only would all of Japan (With a population of 130 million) be at risk for lethal levels of fallout, so would all of the West Coast of the USA (Alaska, Washington State, Oregon and California), as well as the coastal areas of western Canada and Mexico. Additionally, all of the Pacific fisheries would become poisoned due to the fallout and would be rendered toxic and unusable for decades to come.
Then there is the issue of sparking off a direct nuclear conflict with China and Russia. Once again, the simple reality is that the USA does not have conventional weapons that are capable of taking out all of the NK military/nuclear fortifications in one single surgical strike.
Without diving into a full argument in favor of counter-force strike, allow me to illustrate just how incorrect these misconceptions are. This isn’t your fault - everything you typed I have seen expressed, verbatim, by journalists, academics, and other people who should damn well know better.
You have been lied to, deliberately and consistently.
Lie #1:
US nukes would have to be detonated on the ground, in order to destroy widespread and deeply buried underground fortifications, as airbursts wouldn't be effective against deep bunkers
Not if the B-61-12 is used, the latest modification of the B-61 nuclear freefall bomb to make it a precision-guided, earth-penetrating, low-yield bunker buster. The precision guidance (GPS/inertial) alone makes it far more effective, as doubling the accuracy of a weapon increases its destructive potential eightfold (a simple consequence of the inverse-square law.) The earth-penetrating ability increases the “shock coupling,” i.e. the kinetic energy transferred to the earth (to collapse deep bunkers like an “earthquake bomb” does,) and of course, the low yield greatly reduces the collateral damage and fallout effects. The only publicly disclosed data on the Mod-12 puts the maximum yield at 50 kilotons, but based on prior configurations of the B-61s “physics package,” the weapon probably has a variable yield ranging from 0.3kt to 50kt. On its lowest setting, the bomb will only have a yield of three hundred tons. A sub-kiloton yield. Especially at such low yields, the earth-penetrating nature of the weapon is likely to reduce fallout, especially when hitting hard rock (less loose soil to be blown into the air; only rock actually vaporized by the very small nuclear fireball would be put into the air.) This is hard to gauge, as no declassified equations exist for working out fallout from a shallow sub-surface detonation. In fact, the excellent nukemap.com cannot calculate fallout even for a surface burst, as its equations only cover detonations of a kiloton or over.
It should be noted that the B-61-12 is in qualification testing as we speak - the weapon is finished, and given the urgency of the current crisis, could reasonably be rushed into service in low numbers.
Lie #2:
Then there is the issue of sparking off a direct nuclear conflict with China and Russia.
Even ignoring the existence of the B-61-12 described above, this claim completely ignores the bomber-based leg of the American nuclear triad, which still operates the AGM-86 Air Launched Cruise Missile (variable yield of 5-150 kilotons) and the B-83 freefall bomb (variable yield up to 1.2 megatons,) both delivered by the B-52 strategic bomber - some of which are based on Guam (and have been since the early days of the Cold War.) The B-52 has had an unescorted deep-nuclear-strike penetration mission ever since the AGM-28 Hound Dog debeuted in 1960, a massive nuclear-armed cruise missile designed to simply vaporize SAM sites and entire Soviet fighter bases so the B-52s could reach their targets and deliver their heavy freefall bombs. The modern incarnation of this would involve B-52s carrying ALCMs or B-83s internally, and carrying MALD-J decoys and/or JASSM-ER stealth cruise missiles on their external pylons to jam, confuse, and outright destroy North Korea’s painfully antiquated air defense network before moving in to deliver their nuclear strikes. And this is without escort or assistance from fighter-bombers and/or OECM aircraft based in Japan, Okinawa or South Korea, which they would have.
It is possible - though extremely unlikely - that Russia or China would panic and assume that a low number of incoming ICBMs/SLBMs from America’s direction were actually aimed at them, and decide to commit suicide by launching a massive retaliatory attack even before the tracks of incoming warheads had been “firmed up” by radar (even though China doesn’t have a “launch-on-warning” policy.) It is not possible that they will interpret lumbering Cold-War era bomber aircraft a legitimate nuclear threat to their very capable, modern, and dense IADS - even the ALCM is a dated, non-stealth design. Even if they should construe these aircraft as “attacking them,” by sheer dint of their numbers and possible kiloton yield per aircraft alone it’d qualify as a tactical useage of nuclear weapons, not a strategic one demanding immediate massive retaliation.
There is absolutely no credible argument for the employment of tactical nuclear warheads against North Korea leading to a full-on strategic nuclear exchange between Russia/China and the United States, and anyone telling you such is a lying bastard trying to play on your emotions to avoid making a real argument.
Lie #3:
Once again, the simple reality is that the USA does not have conventional weapons that are capable of taking out all of the NK military/nuclear fortifications in one single surgical strike.
The hell we don’t.
Tumblr media
Meet the AGM-158 JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface-Standoff Missile), a fully stealthed air-launched cruise missile that also has an ER variant (a full 600nm range) and a penetrating warhead variant for hardened targets.
The B-1B “Lancer” can carry 24 of these weapons in its internal bomb-bays. The B-1B is an intercontinental capable bomber (with suitable tanker support.) 1/3rd of the currently active US fleet (20 aircraft) can thus deliver 480 of these weapons - in a non-stop round trip direct from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, as they have done many times in sorties to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Estimates of DPRK Transporter-Erector-Launcher numbers range from 150 to 300. Even if every single one was located inside its own dispersal bunker, the JASSM would be more than capable of destroying it, as their penetration ability is enhanced by the ability to conduct a guided attack (i.e. a 90-degree dive with full engine power to enhance the kinetic penetration prior to detonation.) This is indeed the worst case scenario, as any TELs located in large facilities under mountains can be interdicted simply by collapsing the tunnel entrances with similar weaponry - a TEL cannot fire a ballistic missile though a hundred feet of solid rock, after all. This vulnerability is almost certainly why the DPRK is observably building individual dispersal bunkers in close proximity to probable (and in one case, identified) under-mountain SRBM facilities.
Note I have not touched on the TLAM-D Tomahawk and its Tactical Tomahawk Penetrator Variant warhead (which put those neat holes in the hardened shelters at Shayrat AFB,) which is carried in copious numbers by the warships of 7th fleet (and by the four converted Ohio-class boomers, each mustering a staggering 154 weapons, for a total of 616 Tomahawk missiles deliverable with complete surprise,) nor the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber (capable of delivering a pair of the uniquely powerful 30,000 pound GBU-57 “MOP” bunker-busters, among other weapons,) or B-52s (both capable of inter-continental attacks as well,) or utilizing F-35s and F-22s in the strike role (with the F-22 lobbing Small Diameter Bombs, themselves capable bunker-busters in their own right,) nor any of the tactical fighter-bomber assets already in-theater, including US Air Force F-16s and F-15s in South Korea, or Navy/Marine Hornet/Super Hornets in Japan and Okinawa, all of them capable of delivering standoff cruise missiles and the JSOW glide-bomb with either a submunition or BROACH penetrating warhead.
Even if one assumes utilization of in-theater airpower is limited by the need to hide preparations from espionage, it is foolish to claim that the United States does not have an overwhelming capacity to deliver ordinance in a SURPRISE, surgical attack, even against extensively hardened targets. The only real limit on the United States’s ability in this regard is locating the targets, but given the massive superiority in ISR assets deployed to the peninsula - including U-2S spy planes and RQ-170 stealth drones capable of operating in DPRK airspace with relative impunity, combined with the relatively compact dimensions of the Korean peninsula, this is hardly an insurmountable obstacle.
And then there is the simple fact we needn’t intercept every single missile launcher and/or WMD warhead before launch, as South Korea and Japan will both be defended by a tested, multi-layered ABM shield. South Korea is covered by the SM-3 (late exoatmospheric intercept), THAAD (very high altitude endo-atmospheric intercept,) the SM-2ER/SM-6 (mid-atmospheric terminal intercept) and Patriot PAC-3 MSE/ERINT (medium to low altitude terminal intercept.) Japan won’t benefit from THAAD, but has several of its own destroyers armed with the SM-3 and can thus provide more for its own defense - and North Korea has far fewer MRBM/IRBMs capable of ranging Japan in the first place, and they’re larger, easier-to-find targets to begin with, making it very unlikely they’ll preserve enough assets through the initial strike to overwhelm even our limited ABM capacity as it currently stands.
It Is All Bullshit, My Friend
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Much, much, much more goes into planning a war than just this; there’s logistics, turnaround time, the need for redundancy (multiple weapon strikes for a single target, weapon duds, necessary re-strikes, Bomb Damage Assessment, the difficulty of coordinating Time on Target, communicating with/preparing one’s allies without telegraphing the blow, and so on,) but that just goes to show the most basic claims against counter-force strike that you’ve been fed by the media and the academics outright ignore known, tested military capabilities. This goes beyond saying “we can’t find TELs because we couldn’t do it 27 years ago in Desert Storm.” It requires ignoring seventeen years of hunting down elusive enemies in the mountainous and heavily-tunneled terrain of Afghanistan. This level of ignorance is willful and deliberate. When the existence of entire classes of weaponry and indeed, the staggeringly vast power-projection/deep strike ability of the United States is flatly and out-right ignored, one may well ask if a deliberate attempt to influence public opinion via lies (of omission or otherwise) is underway.
None of this means that I am right, of course - that argument will have to stand on its own merits. But I can assure you that the arguments you’ve been fed are laughably, blatantly wrong.

Needling Myofascial Meridians?
Beyond the Trigger Point...
Many clinicians needle. We are taught to dry needle trigger points and to needle the segmental innervation of the muscle involved. But should we do more? I think so, and here is one paper on incorporating needling myofascial meridians along with trigger points that supports that notion (1).
Since most of us treat patients that are ambulatory, we should be thinking of how a patient moves, especially through the gait cycle. Think of the kinetic chain in what I like to call “reverse engineering”, that is, from the ground up, rather from the torso down, in a closed chain fashion. This will profoundly effect the way you look at muscle function, for example: thinking of the vastus lateralis as a medial rotator of the thigh (yes, you read that right; think about it and try and get your head wrapped around it), or of the peroneus longus as an abductor of the lower leg and external rotator (assisting supination) during the latter half of the gait cycle. Reverse engineering gives you a whole new outlook on locomotion and human movement.
Tom Myers was insightful enough to write a great text talking about myofascial meridians or “lines of tissue stress ” describing the fascial connections of muscles utilized in a chain during movement (2). This built upon the original work of Valdimir Janda and his concepts of “loops and slings” (3), as well as the work of Paoletti (4) and Vleeming (5).
In neurology, we have the conjoint concepts of temporal and spacial summation that can lead to some action on the part of the nervous system. They describe 2 ways that receptors or neurons can reach threshold and fire an action potential (6) .
Temporal summation is when a receptor or neuron is stimulated repetetively over time, with each potential bulding upon the previous, making the stimulus effectively larger and larger. If you were in a movie theater and the person seated behind you kept hitting the back of your seat repetitively (temporal summation), it would only be a matter of time before you turned around and said some thing to them(ie, you reached threshold).
Spacial summation is when a receptor or neuron is stimulated at multiple locations over time, with the potentials building and bringing the receptor or neuron closer to threshold.  Taking the same scenario as before, if many people began hitting your chair from multiple directions (spacial summation), it would be only a matter of time before you said something (ie: reached threshold).
These two things can work together as well, usually eliciting a result much faster, since the receptor or neuron is being hit multiple times from multiple directions and it can usually reach threshold faster.
Since one of our goals in needling is not only to reduce or eliminate the trigger point, but also to reduce pain and increase function, wouldn’t it make sense to take advantage of as much neurology as possible? How about more real estate (spacial summation) in a reasonable time frame from point to point (temporal summation)?
Needling appears to cause pain modulation, as well as many of its other effects,  through both peripheral and central mechanisms (7,8). Having our therapy stimulate more of these mechanisms should theoretically make our therapy more effective and improve outcomes. So, more needles may be a good thing, no?
Getting back to the paper (1), they needled tender points (satellite trigger points?) along the lower portions of the “superficial back line” or “SBL”, along with points on the foot for plantar fascitis. The SBL contains plantar fascia, Achilles tendon, gastrocnemius, hamstrings, sacrotuberous ligament, and erector spinae. It continues to the suboccipital muscles and ends at the suboccipital muscles, galea aponeurotica of the skull and ultimately the frontalis muscle (2). They could have incorporated more, and perhaps had even better results, as the upper cervial spine contains one of the highest densities of mechanoreceptors in the body (9, 10), and afferent information from the upper 4 cervical neuromeres feed directly into the flocculonodular lobe of the cerebellum (11, 12).
So, how about incorporating myofascial meridians into your needling toolbox? The next time you see someone with a problem area, think about the kinetic chain that gets you there, starting from the ground up, and incorporate THAT into your treatment protocol.
