"i dont know! he just reminds me of someone i guess? and he always cheated on projects back in middle school. even stole my ideas so he could make it look like im in the wrong."

"thats it? youre holding a grudge over him just being a middle school kid from, what, 5 years ago? cmon, theres gotta be something better then that. not to mention even if there wasnt, that makes you sound hella dumb holding a grudge from the 7th grade when youre graduating next year."

she smiled, no matter what mood she was in, sunoo always was the sunshine in the rain.

"oh, you know the usual. sunghoon, heeseung, jake, and jay. niki and jungwon are supposed to be setting up something in the courtyard."

"setting up what?"

"a volleyball net. jake was on nikis ass all week and wanted him to 1v1 you while we all played basketball. jungwon just wanted to help however he could, hes been tired all week from his job and the dance program."

sunoo signaled for y/n to continue first. "i just cant stand riki. jakes been on my ass to talk to riki but i didnt think hed actually talk to him, or that hed even listen either."

"seriously? i always thought you had a thing for him. i mean, you look good together, you both share mainly the same interests, mainly the same circle, not to mention the undeniable love you have when your eyes meet-"

"okay thats enough! you know what, how bout we go outside, im hungry anyway."

sunoo shrugged and went along with y/n down the hall.

I would like to preface this with the fact that I do not understand anything medical and that I pulled most of this out of my ass (as well as the various medical drama clips tiktok likes to give me)

That being said, here's some Esprit in the medbay (surprisingly not angsty)

He’d heard it was urgent and rushed down to the medbay as soon as possible, but he wasn’t expecting… well, this. This being a whole platoon of clones laid up in the medbay, not an injury in sight. Not good.

“Symptoms?” he asks a passing medic, fresh off Kamino by the looks of it. Poor kid’s completely frazzled.

“Ah, uh, fever, coughing, lethargy, some are nauseous. It, it could be anything, I don’t know.”

“Alright, thank you.” The medic nods, but there’s still a glint of worry in his eyes. “Don’t worry, we’ll sort this right out. Just stick by me for a few more minutes, I think I’ll still need your help.”

“O-Okay, I mean, yes sir!”

“Esprit is fine. No need for formalities, we’re all doctors here.” He gives the medic a gentle smile before leading him to the closest cot. He picks up the chart at the end of the bed and gives it a quick once over before adressing the soldier in front of him.

“Checks, right? How are you feeling?”

“Not great, but I guess that’s obvious,” Checks says with a smile. “Any clue what’s going on?”

“That’s what I’m hoping to find out. I’ll just need to draw some blood for testing, nothing too drastic right now.”

“Hope it stays that way.”

“Me too. Now, I’ll just need to see your arm real quick.” Checks gives a nod, and Esprit gently takes his arm to draw the blood. It doesn’t take long, and he gives Checks a quick pat on his shoulder when it’s over. “This won’t take long, I’ll let you know what I find.”

“Thank you, sir.” Esprit nods, and waves the young medic over as he goes to the next bed.

“I’m sorry, but I didn’t catch your name. You are…”

“Coil, si– … Esprit.”

“A nice name.” Coil gives a small smile.

“Thank you…”

“Coil, can you help me with this? There’s a lot of blood to draw and test, divide and conquer is the best way to go about it.”

“Of course!”

“Wonderful. I’ll stick to this half of the room, can you do the other half? We’ll meet in the lab for the tests.”

“Yes si– Yes Esprit, I’m on it!” Coil runs off to get the equipment he needs to start working on his half of the room. Well, only thirty-five patients to go…

“The good thing about this lab is we can test large batches,” Esprit says as he floats the last of his vials into the tray Coil brought. Coil nods sagely at the comment.

“This place is a lot nicer than what the Kaminoans were preparing us for.”

“Yeah? Did they have you practice in a battle sim room?”

“Sometimes, yeah. But most of the time they’d let us work in their labs with almost no equipment. So we’d get used to not having much, they said.”

“Mmm.” Esprit seals the tray and places it into the scanner. “I see where they’re coming from, with having you practice with less. Us medics have to learn to do what we can with only a little available to us. But it’s just as important to learn what to do when we do have the equipment we need.”

“I don’t think they thought the same…”

“Well, it’s a good thing you’re here now, then.”

“Mm. I guess so, yeah. It’s nice to be able to actually do things. You know, like properly do tests and have actual surgical needles and thread for stitching instead of disinfecting whatever we have on hand and hoping it’s fine.”

“Yeesh, really?”

“Oh yeah. Even our shifts in the Kaminoan medbays were kind of a nightmare. This is a lot better. And… uh, no offense, but you’re a lot nicer than I thought. I was told the older medics get real scary.” That pulls a laugh out of Esprit.

“Oh, they do. I just don’t like being mean. Look at your older brothers, and you’ll see terrifying medics aplenty. They have to be to get anyone to listen.” Coil laughs too, a little giggle that brightens the room.

“Are they really that bad?”

“You have no idea how many people have to get dragged to the medbay, clone and Jedi alike. It’s insane.”

“Then how do you get people in?”

“Bribery.” Coil snorts. “A lot of people will do anything if you promise them a sweet.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

“I’ll give you my stash of lollipops, then. Hide them, though, or people will just start stealing them and not actually come in.”

“Got it. Thank you!”

“Of course.” The scanner beeps, and Coil pulls the tray out while Esprit reads through the results. He sighs when he finishes scrolling through the report.

“So, what is it?” Coil asks.

“Just a cold. They’ll be fine in a day or two, they just need some rest.”

“That’s it?”

“Yep. Time to kick them out and make room in case anyone gets injured.”

“We’re in hyperspace, though…”

“You have no idea how stupid people can be when they’re bored. Come on, we’ll give them some medicine then send them on their way.”

“Alright.”

the only reason i downloaded this game was uhhh hot guys. the story was mediocre tbh. no voice acting. relies too much on sexy scenes with was fun at the first few chapters but then eh :// also if u wanna be a f2p it sucks coz they practically force u to pay to move on with the story and yeah....not worth it. 2/10

Love Story of Share House

made by HUNEX.CO, the games about mc moving to a share house with a bunch of hot dudes. The DreamTM. no voice acting but the characters are bearable. ive played the meganes route because thats who i am as a person and mr moustache man. latters route was okay. the story does have smutty elements so that surprised me tbh hahahha. its okay imo and u can be f2p to finish each route :) 4/10

My Horse Prince

can you BELIEVE this game got better ranks than the previous two??? its about mc wooing a horse. with a mans head. horses body. i cannot simplify this enough. the reason it beating the 2 games before is because it made me lose my shit SO MUCH i remembered tears coming out of my eyes coz this game is a fcking ride. mc has 1 braincell and its for the sexy horse man. f2p and im thankful for that. no voice acting and honestly im glad it doesnt. 5/10

Hatoful Boyfriend

a classic game. no voice acting. there ARE gijinkas and drama cds however outside of the main game. in the main game u get to date pigeons. actual pigeons. i believe this game was unironically enjoyable like 10-15 years ago. dont be fooled by the pigeons. some of their routes can be EMOTIONALLY NASTY. i cried at one of the pigeons. i lost sleep but its what i deserve. 5/10

Hakuoki

my first ever dating sim game!! hence the 3ds picture. full voice acting. it was p enjoyable and while i know the steam version covers most of what the 3ds lacks, i love playing the routes and this was the first game tht traumatized me at the sight of a bad end. sadly not a fan of the canon route despite me loving stoic emotionally guarded characters. i do enjoy the other routes and okita souji has my heart and soul i love and hate him. 6/10

another game by HUNEX.CO. compared to the share house game, i ADORE this one. its surprisingly a sweet mobile otome game! f2p friendly! no voice acting, but they make it up with the story and characters. basically u got tsundere wolf. baby invisible man. yandere mummy. bastard but then gets soft to you vampire. guess who i love in the end. also sidenote the reason this gets higher ranks is the vampires routes alone (they have dating route AND lovers route all in one game) and also the invisible mans route broke me as a person. i hate it. so much. oh my god. 7/10

Amnesia

my second otomate/aksys game! when i found it its sold in google store i legit bought it and left my assignments to play flksdnfjdbf. full voice acting. VERY interesting stories. v intense stories too so its not fun playing at night lol sometimes. all the characters are loveable to each players ref. some of the routes do irk me which sucks coz i have to finish all in order to unlock the canon route. i DO love the canon character so its fine. this game is the game that introduced me to fear in a form of a toma. 8/10

HONESTLY A GAME WHERE I LIKE ALL THE CHARACTERS LMAOOO!! all the routes are great and the full voice acting has me scream. a lot. also they have A LOT of post stories that are released internationally so it makes me love the characters (saint-germain) even more. i believe this is the game that actually made me love the yandere. so i gotta give kudos to that. the canon route is really lovable! the stories can be a mix of cute and angst so its a wild ride when i played it ;w;b 9/10

Ikemen Sengoku

honestly one of my fav and long-running mobile otome game!! the game is f2p but you need to be veeery patient to finish one route (in my case i sometimes am patient. other times im not). partially voiced. the best thing about this game is THERE IS A LOT OF CHOICES LMAOO n youre not obligated to do a route of a character youre not too keen. the characters are both lovable and stupid. the mc has 1 braincell and shes using it to helps these hot morons. sugitan is there. bfkdjbfdkj also the stories are smutty and its so goood i remembered screaming a lot. their stories range from funny to sad to angsty to romantic its a roller coaster ride. 9/10

Collar x Malice

i LOVE all the characters. i LOVE all the routes. i even love the villain of this series. which is why it gets number 2 in my book. the stories can get intense but when the cute romantic funny parts hit it hits you off guard and it just makes u laugh or scream or cry or all in 1. im a big kaji yuki fan so to finally get to play a game where kaji yukis character is in it just earns this game a top spot in my heart. a very special spot too considering his character is my fav character and route hehehhe! its sequel is coming out (n im getting it tmrrw eyy). love it so much! and the canon character is easily my 2nd fav character too! 10/10

Mystic Messenger

this game easily ruined my sleep schedule. at one point my body automatically woke up at 3 am at the single sound of a beep EVERY TIME. just to text some fictional characters. i even got out of class once to respond to jumins call. i hate this game. the games gameplay is so unique and fun and all the characters are very VERY lovable. i love all the characters and their routes. while the voice acting happens during certain cgs (full voice in all scenes in vs and saerans routes) it redeems itself with the amazing voice calls. i laughed A LOT whole playing this game. its absolutely amazing. did you know that i bawled in saerans route? bawled? as in cried in absolute anguish and sobbed nonstop? and stared at the blank screen????????? once in front of my own mother and again alone in the darkness of my own room? my heart was shattered in pieces and it literally felt as if the love of my life is gone for good. 11/10

14: A game you think would be cool if it had voice acting?

Its not like I actually played it but...Pokemon Sword and Shield. Idk much about the game because I still hope to play it lol but as a Dark Type fan I was so excited for Piers and when I heard the guy sings during the battle but you cant hear his voice (but you can hear effects like him thumping his feet, and you see him actually open his mouth) it just...it sounds so awkward...they did my man so dirty...

(Also in general I feel like voice acting for important cutscenes could be a cool addition in general for the games, specially if they are making the models seem like they are talking already)

17: What game do you never tell people you play?

Almost most of the games I like, tbh. Usually I'm too scared to be told they r weird or not real games or they suck and blablabla. Games like End Roll and Ib I only talk about with people im close with, and i tend to not mention rpg maker games, visual novels or dating sims unless, again, is people im close with or that i know are interested in them.

I know it doesnt quite fit the question but what i think i never tell anyone is how much I play yume nikki and its fangames (specially 2kki) -although not much lately-, since they kind of weirdly help when im feeling sad and if people said smth bad i would probably feel like shit lol

23: Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming?

Digimon World 4 but because for some reason the game always showed with a part of the screen cut on my tvs, which its not its fault but still was disappointing. Probably should get another copy lol.

But disappointment in general Im looking straight to Yume Nikki: Dream Diary. Like okay some of the vibes and zones looked cool and the music was good, but god did they ruin what made the original what it is. I really enjoy theory heavy games even if that means we may never have an answer but didnt mind if this one tried to make a story, however it was, very badly done. And dont even get me started on, whatever the fuck that Uboa jumpscare was (like an actual jumpscare would have been better than that blink and u miss it image). There is a lot of stuff I could have forgiven and tbh I spent most of the game still hoping for it to be good, but the fact they limited such an exploring-heavy type of game really upset me, it felt like when they take a beloved show and turn it into some edgy live action drama. I don't regret playing it myself, but it disappointed me with how hyped me n a lot of other people were to have new stuff after so many years.

JOSEPH’S ROUTE MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE. first of all, we get the nice message of ‘hey look, hes the confirmed bisexual of the series and HE CHEATS ON HIS WIFE. WE TRICKED YOU INTO THINKING HIS WIFE CHEATS ON HIM, BUT NO, IT IS HE, THE BISEXUAL’ 

so thats the first bad thing.

second bad thing, the whole cheating thing. cheating is wrong. we all know that, some freaks on this site dont, but im gonna assume they arent following me. but the thing is the player is led to believe that joseph finished his relationship with mary and thus he wants to enter a relationship with dadsona. a little bit too fast, a little bit too fairy-tale like but hey, its a dating sim, who am i to question some incredulous events happening in it? WRONG, says the joseph route writer. this is the REAL life and in REAL LIFE people dont just divorce sb to be with you, in real life, there are mlm cheaters who are going to use you and betray your trust and youre an idiot for believing you could have a happy ending with joseph. joseph is the only character in the game with whom u cannot have a happy ending, furthermore hes the only character You Don’t Really Get To Know. the only thing u know at the end of the game is that he puts on these various masks but when does he do that? why does he do that? its interesting, its compelling, u wanna know more about him but you cant and the game says ur a fucking idiot because u wanted to make a married man cheat (even tho at the moment of cheating u hear that their relationship is over).

even if u didnt want to cheat, i dont remember there being an option for saying ‘uhh okay but lets wait till the divorce is finalized’ so idk i guess u dont have a choice

third bad thing is my main gripe, something i already mentioned above. this is a dating sim that is completely unrealistic, its COMPLETLY escapist. what are the odds of moving into a cul de sac filled with mostly single and mostly gay dads. and all of them so beautiful and dare i say, quirky. chances are none. from the very beginning, this game is not realistic and it shouldnt strive to be realistic. none of dating sims are, theyre not meant to mirror real life. they are! escapist! and theres nothing wrong with that!!!! dream daddy is a perfect world where everybody is LGBT, theres no homophobia, no transphobia, everybody is perfectly accepting of one another, u never have to talk about your lgbt experience (which is a topic for another essay but i gotta pace myself), its all perfect!!!!

but all of the sudden, when u pick josephs route, you are supposed to go back to the real world. and in the real world, there are cheaters and lying men who are just looking for a quick fuck. and u just fell for those lies, u believed this religious blond bisexual man and he played u like a fiddle. and how could u not see that coming, asks the writer of that route. did u think u were playing an idealistic dating sim?? :thinking: 

this clashes HARD with the rest of the game. im not saying dating sims should have no conflict at all, no of course not, conflict is welcome. robert’s route has a very good conflict in it, robert has some issues, ur dadsona helps him get his shit together. good conflict, well written, good resolution. but joseph has a conflict on which u as a player, have no influence over. u never get to discuss his marriage, not in a way that matters, u never get to propose a solution, ur never allowed to critically analyze whats happening. 

ur final ending is decided for u, no matter what what u do. and in a dating sim........ thats just.... not how they work. your decisions are what makes the story unfold in certain ways, the agency should be yours. but joseph has no good ending because the writer decided to be realistic in the saddest way, the way that reminds you that bisexual people lie and cheat and that generally, lgbt relationships are built on sensationalized drama and pain

theres so many more things i could cover -- how mary is treated in that route, how religion factors into all of it, how family life influences the route, but ultimately, its all just........ a huge disappointment which feels extremely out of place in the DDADDS universe. nobody who buys this game expects harsh realism of doomed gay relationships. somebody might argue that this is what makes josephs route so interesting but i think thats ... fake, sensationalised interest. we could have the same conflict with robert and mary, already an ex-wife. but instead the writer has to get his ‘haha gotcha. this story cant have a happy ending because this is the real world’

I just read all of Santis story. Dear god, it is amazing. I cannot begin to describe how much I love it. I have been really sick lately and have such a hard time concentrating on anything for more than one second but I have not been able to look away from this story, not even when I re-read it for the third time. You are an amazing writer and I have fallen in love with every charachter you have introduced. I teared up so many times and my heart began beating fast, it was really an experience.

weston: well, i dont rly see my parents that much. they travel a lot. its mostly just me and my brother. but now i have my own place so i only rly see him at the company. its always kinda been every holloway for themselves at my place, though. were all very independent. me and my bro were left home alone alot. and my parents used to get the best toys bc they felt bad about it. sooo i guess u could say my childhood was pretty awesome. i threw killer parties at my parents beach house.

interviewer: its always good to look on the bright side, i guess. what do you think of your best and worst traits are?

weston: well, i think im a pretty confident guy. i dont let anyone get in my way of getting what i want and thats why im so succesful. im also veryyyyy romantic. so obviously all the ladies love me. i cant really think of any bad things about myself. i guess im just a positive kinda guy! oh i almost forgot to mention that im very humble.
