once again thinking about how the new sim was absolute dogshit for the ohio worms. the only previous worm from the falls we got was NaN, who immediately exploded before games even started. all our stats were rolled to be kind of garbage after so many seasons of fighting for our LIVES in expansion to improve when we kept having notoriously rotten luck with wills. and then we did not win a single blessing. didn't even get any major weather events. and then in the last election johnnyboy aster got incinerated, original worm scratch deleuze got cursed, and blaseball was over. like.... man. we went from the Actual Quantifiably Worst Team in the League to getting sooo close to winning a championship and then just tossed right back to the dirt with no chance for redemption. it's all so thematic in the worst way possible <3

Also it’s so interesting rewatching the reunion scene and seeing how both of them like, barely hanging on by a thread. Callum processes that she’s there, manages out the most broken, “Rayla, what are you doing here?” imaginable, and then can barely bring himself to look at her and hold himself together, instead facing the blank pages of the tome of translation... because the second he looks at her and sees her sad face, he folds and agrees to talk, at least marginally, rather than exiting the room outright. Even when he’s positively furious with her he refuses to shut her out completely, like a wound that’s been ripped wide open. All he wanted her to do was come back and now she has, and she’s done it for him, and what the hell is he supposed to do with that?

And then you have Rayla, who is trying to be open, who is trying to engage with him, and when her sharing her emotions just makes him grow cold she stops and offers the floor to him: “Fine, what do you want to talk about?” “I just - anything, really.” But all he does is give her one word answers, draw up more physical and emotional walls. For once she’s the one wholly pursuing him, following after him every time he moves across the room, going around the mirror. She left first, she’s always the one who’s run away, who’s asked him to stay, and now she’s asking him if he’ll let her stay. 

She knew he’d be angry. He knows she loves him. They know they love each other. But neither of them knew that she’d ever actually come back, and that’s what leaves them reeling

i dont know if im still just fucking reeling and riding the extreme emotional high that the david kaufman voicelines gave me. but i think pd just bumped up to being my favorite jrwi campaign. like it was suuuuch a close second behind riptide for so long. and while i do love riptide very dearly and it has a really really specific special place in my brain. god fucking damn it i havent been this winded and weepy and emotional over a season finale in such a long time

frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!
