(soo for backstory I'm changing it up a bit. what if Ellis was still alive when Logan got captured, and dragged away at the beach scene. this is the aftermath. also this is the cod universe so I'm making what I want from it I do hope this is amazing, and I do this Justice. I'm really trying 😭)

Third person POV:

Hesh wakes up, feeling the movement of a car. he's confused, last thing he remembers is the final moments of him seeing his brother alive, he was at the beach, so where is he? why is he alive? Rorke should have taken him, not his brother. if anything he should be the one paying for it, not Logan. Jumping back into reality, he startled until he feels a familiar hand on his shoulder. "hey you're okay"comes the familiar voice who belong to the man named Keegan. "wh-at.. where are we? where is Logan?" hesh says looking around the moving car, seeing merrick in the driver's seat, getting alarmed not seeing his brother there with him. Keegan meeting his eyes giving him a concerning look. Hesh hoping one of his worst nightmare isn't true.

Hesh searching his eyes, looking for some hope left in them. "I'm sorry David. Rorke got him before we got there" and this is what makes hesh break. He didn't just go through hell for nothing, and now it's failed him. everything he fought so hard for, and gave his entire life too protecting his brother, now gone. But he can't break down, not yet. he knows he has to stay strong for his dad, and the team because Logan was family to the team as he was to elias and david. And this only drives the last of the ghosts into a much further rage. making them more motivated with what they have left to get vengeance for not only Logan, but everybody else. and all the disaster the feds and Rorke have caused.

Eventually when hesh comes back down into his senses, Keegan gets him up to date. "We're heading to one of the Meetup spots that Rorke/the feds doesn't know about. and meeting up with your dad" Keegan says turning away from him, looking out the window. hoping to whatever universe there is, that they still have a Fighting Chance. Even though hesh is injured that isn't going to stop him. Hell when has it stopped him, never! he's going to keep on pushing cuz that's all he knows, that's the soldier in him.

They finally pull up to the secret Meetup spot. hesh mustering up what strength he has left to push through, and meet up with his Dad, and what's left of the team. When they walk in they immediately know something's wrong, the vibe in the air quickly changing. Hesh yells out for his dad but nothing, which makes everybody go silent. the heaviness of concern filling the air. Keegan and Merrick quickly spread out to search the little armory they have. hesh taking watch at the front door, demanded by Keegan. since he's still trying to get his strength back. Hearing the guys yell clear of the little rooms they entered, they made quick work making sure it's safe. when Keegan comes back to hesh in the main area. He can tell in his body language it's not good

"anything?" Hesh asks concerningly, making Keegan shift and bring up his hand showing him the little CD, evidence that his dad was there. And it has handwriting on it, a handwriting that hesh knows way too well. "From Elise" is all that the CD says, and they know it's part of rorke little tricks. "Fuckk" hesh spits out, his head falling In his hands in defeat, the little hope he had left now gone. He knows whatever is on that CD it's not good, making him lose all faith in humanity, and even in himself. "So what are we going to do with it" Merrick finally speaks up, and everybody looks at each other. the only choice they have at this point is to look at whatever's on the CD, they can only hope it gives them something. but hesh knows not to get his hopes up, no matter how badly he wants to.

They sit down grabbing the computer that was left next to the CD, who they can only assume Rorke put it there. The screen goes black, until they're met with Elias sitting in a chair, in a blank room. and this makes all the guys stomach drop. The video starts out Elias shifting in his seat, looking around. then at the camera, and his body language is unrecognizable. Something hesh has never seen before.

{ Elias takes a deep breath in, before he clears his throat.

"to whomever is seeing this. Probably the ghosts more than likely.."

"I'm probably dead, So don't waste your time trying to find me. we've already wasted too much in this war, and lost so many. I don't want to see any more of my team gone, or my son for that matter.."

Elias huffs out, looking away from the camera.

"as much as this pains me to say. I know Rorke won't stop until all of us are gone, or we back down to him. And I know none of y'all will be willing to back down that easily, it's not who we are. but for your own sanity, take a step back..... For now."

Looking back up at the camera, there's something he's trying to find the words to say.

"but most importantly my son, if you're here please listen."

He takes another deep breath, adjusting himself in his seat.

"I'm sorry that on your darkest Day I wasn't there to lift you up into my arms, the way you did for so many others."

looking away from the camera, tears slowly bringing his eyes.

"you always did what you could to protect your brother. It's part of your nature, to protect what you love."

"I know it wasn't your fault, for what happened to him. So please don't blame yourself for any of this. Part of you being the natural Born leader you were born to be, you are always so quick to carry the burden of people we lost. and are so quick to blame yourself for things you had no control over. So please don't kill yourself over this. your brother and I wouldn't want that. Or your mom for that matter."

Wiping his eyes, he adjusts himself. slightly smiling, looking back up to the camera.

"there is one more thing I want you to know david. you have made me and your mom, so proud. you were the son I always wanted, and then you became so much more than what I could imagine. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be called your dad."

Right as he says that the video was cut. Hesh looking away from the computer screen, he can feel the tears beginning to break. he didn't just lose his brother, he also lost his dad, he lost himself. He always took pride in knowing he could protect his family, but now it's all thrown out the window with no family left to protect, he failed himself. Having no self control over his emotions anymore, it gets the best of him. he punches the computer screen out of pure anger. Causing the small screen to break within seconds. before he can punch again Merrick stops him.

"hesh.. I know this is a hard time for you right now. but you can't let this eat You alive, not now. We still have a job to do" Merrick says to him, trying to calm him down. Merrick and Keegan knows hesh has fully lost himself. but they have to try to keep him together, the best they can for Logan and Elias. because that's what they would have wanted, they wouldn't have wanted to see hesh tearing himself apart in the cruelest of ways, for stuff that was out of his control. Hesh getting up not saying a word, he goes back out to the car. Merrick and Keegan giving each other an understanding concerning look for their friend, who just lost his family. And who they fear will probably never be the same after this.

They know it's going to be a long, hard, fight. but after what hesh just lost there's nothing to stop him, making him a more dangerous man than he was before.

That's going to be the end for this. I know this was on the shorter side, you can think writers block it kind of killed me.
