The irony of naming this webtoon lookism but unconsciously slimming down and beautifying all the characters to the point of unrecognition. The fact he put in some token characters like Duke to say "hey lookism is bad but here’s all the important characters all fitting the unrealistic standards of korean beauty to showcase the importance of their roles". Gun, goo, and his friends are gonna come out looking like twinks I'm telling you guys.

Can you make some hcs of Ganondorf being super freaking autism coded

Y'know, I've actually been going hard with the autism coding thing because lately I've been having social issues that have forced me to come to terms with my autism. Stuff is rough, but I feel like this is one of the areas where I see a lot of myself in Ganondorf and I know there are a lot of other autistics who love him just as much as I do.

You didn't specify which Ganondorf, so I'm going with OoT. And thanks for the request, by the way. I hope you see yourself in Ganondorf just as much as I do <3

OoT Ganondorf Autism Traits - Headcanons

Hear me out on this one, but despite being male, I think Ganondorf would present a lot of traits associated with female autistics e.g. quiet (though he just ends up coming off as standoffish), a heavy masker, haver of a rich inner-world and so on.

This is because, if you ignore the isolation and prestige that came with growing up a Prince, Ganondorf was raised largely like all the other Gerudo little girls with similar cultural ideals.

And what are the Gerudo culture's ideals? Being tough as hell, having lots of kids, getting married, being intelligent, looking good.

Ganondorf certainly has 3/5, but he's completely lacking on the social two (I mean, he probably has a few daughters running around somewhere, but that's a headcanon for another ask).

Like, who does Ganondorf confide in? Especially before he came of age and was likely forbidden from interacting with girls his own age because of the whole "if a young vai speaks to a voe, disaster will befall her" or whatever the story is.

Really, to understand Ganondorf as an autistic person, we need to first understand what it means to be autistic in Gerudo society.

Yes, the Gerudo are generally very blunt. Unless he's trying to manipulate you, Ganondorf will tell you almost exactly what he thinks. Half of the time, he likely doesn't mean to sound rude, it's just the way he's been raised to communicate. Though, this is likely an issue for allistic Gerudo as well when interacting with foreigners, though I'm sure they adapt.

Something extremely refreshing about the Gerudo that's worth noting, is that they aren't a culture that normalises being mean to each other. Even if they seem tough on the outside, if you earn the respect of a Gerudo, they're really quite sweet.

Such applies to Ganondorf in every regard. With those he doesn't know well or isn't keen on, he may very well come of as aloof. But with someone he likes? He's really quite the sweetheart (err.. sweet as he can get still being the jerk that he is).

One may get the impression that Ganondorf is the king of social interaction because of how manipulative he is and what a great leader he is, but in truth? I think his closest friends are his mothers.

The manipulation is just masking. He knows damn well what he has to do to get what he wants, and he's willing to do it.

He's lonely. Not only because he's pedestaled as the Gerudo's God-King, but because he's his own unique brand of shyness, if that makes any sense. He's very introverted and likes to be left alone to his schemes.

His inner-world is extremely rich. He's always thinking about something; evil plots, what to do with his horse's mane, etc... It may make him seem stoic and mysterious, but it's just an autism trait.

As for special interests? Pipe organ music is one of his oldest, having loved it since he learned to play as a child. He's also very passionate about his horse and his combat warrior training thing.

If for whatever reason he's comfortable enough with you, and by "enough" I mean very, he can talk your ear off about these subjects, in a very refined manner, too.

I don't honestly think he'd have many sensory issues, with the exception to this being how he loathes the feeling of cold. The desert cold is bearable, but snowy, rainy cold? He can hardly stand it.

Does he burnout? Sometimes. He knows when he's worked himself too hard, but sometimes he's too proud to admit he needs to take a break.

One of my autistic traits is that I can be quite naive and assume nearly everyone has the best intentions, but I feel like Ganondorf is almost the opposite of that. You have to prove yourself to him, especially if you're non-Gerudo.

He's also my opposite in terms of empathy, being quite lacking in that department. It's part of why he's so awkward when he has to comfort people.

Probably projecting here (I say, as if 80% of his post isn't projection), but Ganondorf seems like the type to yearn for close social bonds with people even if he kinda sucks at social interaction.

This kinda links back to the whole "the BotW Gerudo believe in soulmates" thing, but he yearns to one day meet his other half; someone who will cherish and understand him for the person he is, regardless of his title or general prowess. Someone who he can share a deep, emotional bond with. Someone he understands. Someone made for him.

Yall should I post the little wip vent post I made about how fucking mad I get about how ridiculous it is when people say agreeing with Teru or "siding with the Minamotos" is some how "agreeing with Teru's abusers" and apparently "racist and oppressing minority people" to call the supernatural cast out on there bs??? Ik I have reblogged a lot of stuff about this but, I will scream this from the roof tops! LET QUEER CHARACTERS BE COMPLEX! All humans are complex including queer people, woah shocker :0. Demonizing or rejecting complex queer characters who do complex things is absolutely insane to me. Let queer characters be messy and bad people who need to grow, we need a balance. Having all queer characters be perfect just makes them feel like a cardboard cut out. Like for example is Hedwig a bad person? yes! That is what the film is about, perpetuated cycles of power abuse and being taken advantage of. But by the end of the film she grows, and makes a change, even if it’s something is minuscule as giving Yitzak her wig and letting them be themselves. This is after Hedwig previously uses the power they have over Yitzak to stop them from wearing wigs and performing drag, something which Yitzak is passionate about, as an ultimatum for their marriage. She has the ability to after the film, keep growing and stop the cycles. And that’s just one example! Anyway, I know this was long, but in conclusion, let queer characters be complex and messy and make mistakes and be bad people. Not every queer person is perfect. Nobody is so let your characters have room to be messy or a bad person and grow from those experiences and choices.

Some other great examples of complex queer characters of the top of my head:

- really any character from Falsettos

- Frank-n-Furter from Rock Horror

- PJ and Josie from Bottoms

- all of the characters from The Boys in the Band

I could elaborate on each one of them but, then this post would be an essay and ik none of y’all want to read all that.

I do not care who you are or your excuses for it, the gems only have ever canonically used masculine and neutral terms. And while some of the neutral terms are feminine leaning, they are still neutral. I understand if it’s a mistake, but honestly as someone who uses he/they it’s literally the slimmest chance I ever see characters like me. Also the only reason you’d call the gems “she” is because of how they look and aren’t we supposed to be erasing the fact that looks≠gender? There is also a logical reason, they have no idea what women even are. Phos clearly showed that by asking Ventri what boobs were and that goes to show none of the gems know what women are, and when Barbata called him “little lustrous lady” or something along those lines he had no idea what he was talking about! She/Her doesn’t exist to the gems and it never has! They follow in Kongo-Senseis footsteps and he is a man! So it makes sense they’d only use masculine and neutral terms!

Along those same lines for the love of god if you ship any of the diamonds with each other just get the fuck out, you’re disgusting. They are BROTHERS. And Cinnabar with Phos, I literally don’t even wanna acknowledge you exist, same with people who excuse all of Cinnabars shitty actions with him being depressed! He’s a shitty person!

TLDR; DNI if you call the gems she, ship the diamond brothers with each other, ship cinnabar and phos, or excuse cinnabar’s actions with his depression

ALRIIIIIIGHT ANOTHER RANT

This is the official cover for Apocalypse Volume One

Pros: the shading is of course peak. The artist is pretty good at drawing muscles and shading the skin. Cú’s outfit really shines here. Cú really just looks feral and I like seeing him in color detail. The detail in Ra’s gold is good. Dazzling ✨. The highlights in Morrigan’s claws are amazing. She’s really shining and sleek, very pretty. Indra is hot as ever.

Cons: Zeus looks like a baby bird excited to see a worm 🪱. Ew. He looks inbred (so just Greek). Ra looks so fucking goofy. Wukong just looks so out of place. He’s drawn in such a manner he almost looks like he’s from a completely different manga or universe. He just looks so… off. Like dude looks so weirdly drawn it’s like he was copied and pasted from an early 2000s yaoi. He looks more like a Shaman King character, and I hate how weird he looks on this cover.

I remember seeing this post a while back about how when people hate on furries + therians that’s normally a really good way to tell that they’re not going to be kind about autistic/nd/queer people and. I totally agree. Like the idea that someone isn’t doing anything to hurt you or anyone else but is just “weird” and that makes you mad sure sounds familiar somewhere (read: every autistic kids interaction with a school like ever). But also this goes so much further than you think.

Like so many styles of dress are based off of being cringe. Decora, “bunny hat kids”, dreamcore, even scene are all about being unappealing and weird and intentionally odd. Literally the entirety of the lemon demon discography is this whole reclamation of being “cringe”. There is literally an aesthetic called cringecore.

So like when people complain about bunny hats or outfits with clashing colours or hyperpop or whatever I can’t help but take it a little more seriously. Like what are the chances that this is your personal taste and what are the chances that you’re going to yell at me if I do something autistic. Hmmm.

I recently finished watching Star vs the forces of evil, and I've been thinking a bit about Meteora. Imo, she's probably the only person in existence, who can say 'I'm not a bad person, I just had a bad childhood' and it's actually a good reason for how she turned out. My girl was taken away from her family, and raised by a psychotic robot. She was taught her whole life to suppress her "flaws" and that her natural form was a bad thing. I don't even know how she was able to hide most of her monster traits, but somehow, St. Olga got her to look like a regular Mewman. It got to the point that, I'm pretty sure, she didn't even remember she was part monster. She was raised with the mindset that she has when she's Headmistress of St. Olga's. Basically, what I'm saying, is that I feel for Meteora, she deserved a lot better, and it's kinda not her fault she became an evil tyrant. I'm glad that she basically got reincarnated, and got to be raised by her mama, Eclipsa.
