About my last post: I think Lucifer makes comments that seem yandere about how MC couldn't leave him if they tried as a defense mechanism. He hates how vulnerable MC makes him and how they could easily hurt him by leaving so he tries to take control of the situation by acting controlling. The man is afraid of getting hurt

What are your opinion on Lucifer and Michael i see them like brothers
Oooh, okay, good question!!
We did not get to see much of it, but back when they were both angels they had peak sibling energy since they were just midly annoying to each other (I think it was mentioned that Michael used to sneak into Luci's room at some point in the story...?) and the whole bit about Michael being "crazy about Lucifer", as Mammon so kindly put it, imo seems like a younger sibling being absolutely mesmerized with their older sibling, so I 100% agree with you about them being like brothers
That being said, it's a bit tricky to work out their exact relationship since we don't know that much about Michael. What both games did indirectly show us, however, is that he cares deeply about the people in his life. Luke mentions how he still catches him staring at the place the brothers' portraits used to hang, in NB Raphael complains about Michael worrying about Simeon and Luke since they keep forgetting to send their daily updates to the point that ends up neglecting his duties and then bombards them with all the gifts Michael had for them, and he still has a lot of keepsakes of back when Lucifer was still an angel. Which imo makes it all the more interesting that in NB Michael seems to hold a small grudge against the brothers (while still caring about them). I really hope we get to see a little more of that
Lucifer on the other hand seems fairly neutral in NB. I actually feel like he never really held any malice against Michael after the Celestial War to begin with, especially considering how he immediately thought that Michael was the one that gave MC the Ring of Light no matter which option you pick. To me it seems like he believes that Michael sent MC to the Devildom to look after them, and from Luci's perspective it would also explain why MC kept trying to help them adjust and kept inserting themself into their business
Fastforward to the og game, and their relationship seems to be in a good place again. Luke does mention that he thinks it's not fair that Michael still loves and cares for the brothers so deeply while they have moved on and don't really seem to care much about him anymore, but in regards to Lucifer that's not true imo. Like yeah, Lucifer doesn't really bring him up, but to be fair it'd also be kind of weird for him to? First of, Lucifer is the Avatar of Pride. No way he'd just publicly admit that he misses Michael or still cares about him. Also he's a demon now with a whole new set of responsibilities to deal with, and he doesn't really have any constant reminder of his time back in the Celestial Realm the same way Michael does with the missing portraits. Imagine if they were prepping for the play for the school festival and Lucifer just starts talking about Michael all of a sudden. Would be weird as hell
Plus, he does reminisce about his time as an angel whenever it makes sense for him to, and he seems very fond of his memories and usually ends up talking about Michael in some form, like that time Raphael fell asleep from drinking too much Demonus and it reminded him of Michael and the two of them drinking together
Tumblr media
Speaking of drinking Demonus--I headcanon that part of the reason Lucifer collects and enjoys Demonus so much is because it reminds him of all the times all the seraphs went drinking together
Also, Lucifer and Michael are actually still in touch. In the Devilgram 'A Job From Michael' Luke and MC tail Lucifer since Michael asked Luke to. Lucifer then later explains that Michael actually gave him some advice on how to deal with his brothers and adds that Michael was probably curious if Lucifer actually followed through, which is why he asked Luke to keep him updated
Tumblr media
So yeah, they're definitely not as close as they used to be, but all in all they seem to be on good terms again

Here's something mildly heartbreaking :) (my speciality!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mammon definitely cried when MC died right?
• He (along with Asmo) is the character who cries the most in canon;
1.) He cries during sad parts of movies/shows/plays/books
2.) He cries while watch animal documentries
3.) Hell he cried because Beel ate the soup he was making MC
• MC died on a day where the rest of the brothers were (up until that point) having a relaxing, fun day - playing a game to get Lucifer & MC closer together. Their death was definitely unexpected/an extreme shock
• MC's injuries were bad according to Satan? (Levi?) Bad enough that a human wouldn't have been able to survive it. Bad enough that even Lucifer knew he couldn't do anything to save them when Asmo asked him to. That means the body Mammon was holding was........ I mean it would have been a gruesome sight
• Mammon's been spending every day since the beginning of the year with MC. At this point he's already obviously in love with them, they're his best friend, the two of them share a bedroom frequently. They were close
The point being: Mammon held a dying human in his arms and sobbed his fucking heart out while asking them not to die. In front of Belphie.
The point being: Mammon didn't cry when Lilith died. No listen, he absolutely broke down when she died but he didn't do it in front of his brothers. Mammon was the one keeping it together and looking after everyone when they Fell. He couldn't scream and cry and beg like he wanted to when Lilith died because he had to be the strong one, he had to soothe everyone's injuries and fears and guilt, he had to show them that things could be better, that they could move on to a brighter future (shoutout to Mammon's lines in his unit song with Lucifer).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But you know what Belphie would have seen?
He would have seen his older brother breaking down over a human he's known for months when he wouldn't even cry after his little sister, who he'd known for thousands of years, died
And we all already know what Belphie thought about humans at this time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we already know what he thought about his brothers at this time:
Tumblr media
For a moment there, while MC was dying Belphie would have hated Mammon. Would have felt vindicated for causing Mammon that kind of pain, when he (as far as Belphie knew) couldn't even spare that for his sister.
Belphie would have felt angry and betrayed. Justified for what he said and did but so so painfully hurt.
And then (in s1 of the anime) when the brothers were tiptoeing around Belphie, were trying to reach out to him and act normal after what he did, but were so obviously failing, when there was a distance between them and Belphie that had previously never existed, that even Beel couldn't find away to breach, Mammon was the first to take that step forward and close the distance which prompted everyone else to do the same, to bring Belphie back to them, to show that he was accepted and loved and always a part of them
And I am very emotional about them.
Disclaimer: this is absolutely not a post bashing Belphie or his thoughts/actions/feelings. They're both complex characters and I always love trying to breakdown and figure out what certain characters were feeling at a time by bringing up other moments in canon. If you try to make this post into something to bash Belphie or start dumb discourse I will eat your entire right leg🐸
In addition, me stating things from canon or talking about negative emotions or things characters have done and comparing those things to another charcter's actions/emotions/responses is not me putting down one character to raise up another. Sometimes when analysing characters you have to compare and contrast them with others present in that or similar situations -> doing so doesn't mean I'm shit talking one character. A character can do, say, think, believe bad or complex things -> there's nothing wrong with talking about/analysing those things or still loving that character.
I know it seems stupid to say something that should seem obvious but *takes out cigar and blows smoke* I've been in this business a long time, kid (3 years for om!, 7 years actively in a fandom, 14 years in fandom in general) I've seen things, terrible things
Also, lemme shamelessly plug in my fic because it's related to this post -> Changing Seasons
Ft. Belphie coming to terms with MC after Lesson 16
Onesided Belphie × (unnamed gn!) MC
Mammon x MC being Besties
Belphie & Mammon talking, but not talking enough
Belphie's PoV
Mammon very briefly being an eldritch nightmare as a little treat for you monsterfuckers
Edit:
Huge additional part added because I realised the entire focus of this post could be misunderstood
Ajznxodjfc9enhd7ejx 😭😭😭😭this was supposed to be Belphie's post about Belphie's feelings. Y'all know I love Mammon, but he's not supposed to be the focus here🥲
Usually when I make an analysis post I take evidence from canon and then add it all together to get ✨️The Main Point✨️ of the post.
In this post I had to infer all of mammon's "canon evidence" (via other actual canon evidence) because we're never explicitly told he cried when MC died and we never see his instant reaction to Lilith's death.
Belphie's side of it was however all explicitly stated in canon so I just added the screenshots. Which is why I wrote much more about mammon on this post than Belphie.
But ✨️The Main Point✨️ that I was always getting to and what made me write this post is actually about how absolutely fucking pissed off Belphie would have been because of Mammon. How hurt and angry and betrayed he would have felt that his older brother who's meant to protect him and his family apparently valued the life of some random human over their sister's.
I added the S1 bit because it nicely rounded up Belphie & Mammon's story. Because it proved Belphie wrong. It proved exactly how much Mammon (and the others) valued him and each other. Because he got to see how heartbroken Mammon was when MC died, he knew exactly what it was like to be that heartbroken, he knew exactly what it was like to NEVER forgive that which caused the pain, and yet he was forgiven. And THAT I think more than anything would have proved Belphie's initial thoughts wrong. It would have eased any lingering feelings of betrayal and hurt he had. Would have proved how much he was loved by his older brother.
So yeah, this was absolutely made to be Belphie's post and I don't think I explained that well enough in the original post💀 in my defense i was half an hour late in feeding the kids & getting yelled at🥲

Hi! Can you analyse "More Than Anything" from HH?
Hi!
Sure! More Than Anything is actually my favourite song of season 1! It is so sweet and very loaded thematically and character-wise!
Tumblr media
I have briefly talked about it in this meta, but here it comes a deeper analysis!
LUCIFER AND CHARLIE: DREAMING OF LOVE
More Than Anything has two main themes that come together in Lucifer and Charlie's relationship:
Love
Dreams
The father-daughter bond is rooted in both. Specifically, they express love through dreams. Or if you prefer, they dream of love.
This is explored in the first two stanzas.
Firstly, Lucifer explains that his dreams were broken:
You didn't know that when I tried this all before My dreams were too hard to defend And in the end, I won't lose it all again
And that Charlie is now the only dream left, which is why he will protect her:
Now you're the only thing worth fighting for More than anything, more than anything I'll shelter and adore you more than anything
Charlie replies that it was Lucifer who inspired her dreams:
So in the end, it's the view I had of you That showed me dreams can be worth fighting for
And adds that her dream is for her people to be safe:
More than anything, more than anything I need to save my people more than anything
So, father and daughter are the opposite and the same.
On the one hand Lucifer believes fighting for dreams isn't worth it (my dreams were too hard to defend). On the other hand Charlie insists that it is (dreams can be worth fighting for). At the same time, Lucifer dreams of protecting (loving) Charlie, whereas Charlie dreams of protecting (loving) all her people. Desperation and microchosm vs hope and macrochosm. This is the root of Lucifer and Charlie's foiling at the beginning of the song. How does this juxtaposition develop? Let's go deeper by exploring some imagery present in the song.
LIGHT AND SHADOW
More Than Anything uses a light/shadow motif to express the two main themes:
Love (1): lights and shadows comment Lucifer and Charlie's bond. They both have been hiding parts of themselves (shadow), but throughout the song they show their true selves (light)
Dreams (2): light is a metaphor of dreams and of how the characters relate to them
1- More than Anything starts with Lucifer and Charlie distant and in the shadows.
Tumblr media
They are repressing a lot and have no idea who the other is. Still, as the song goes on, they get to understand each other:
All that I'm hopin',now that my eyes are open Is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again 'Cause in the end, you are part of who I am
And in the end they embrace in the light.
Tumblr media
What is initially in the shadow comes to light. So, Lucifer and Charlie see each other for who they are.
2- Lucifer mentions his past dreams and summons light. However, he throws it away because he has given up on his ideals:
Tumblr media
Charlie hurries to pick the light up, just like she is pursuing Lucifer's discarded beliefs with her Hazbin Hotel project. Still, Lucifer stops her and holds her hands. His daughter is his new dream and he is ready to throw everything away, if he can protect her.
This resolution is highlighted in the next sequence:
Tumblr media
Lucifer remembers the Elders of Heaven attacking him, then he imagines their weapons pointed at Charlie. Out of fear he drags her away. What's interesting is that Charlie is targeted when she stands in the light, while the moment Lucifer pulls her to safety, she steps into the shadows. The meaning is clear. Lucifer fears that if Charlie takes the spotlight, she will attract Heaven's anger. So, he wants her hidden and sheltered in the shadows. Just like a child. This is why his hug is sweet, but also suffocating:
Tumblr media
Charlie wants a different kind of love. She needs the father who inspired her with dreams and stories. Specifically, Charlie remembers a light show Lucifer put up for her on the spot:
Tumblr media
This scene is key and it combines the light/shadow symbolism with another motif.
THE UGLY DUCKLING
In their flashback, Lucifer tells Charlie a fairy tale by using light as a medium. The story itself is pretty obvious:
I never dreamed of so much happiness when I was the Ugly Duckling!
A little duck swims in a pool of water, but suddenly grows into a beautiful swan. Lucifer's Ugly Duckling is a metaphor of his situation, as the swan has six seraphim wings and shines at the centre of the universe. Specifically, Lucifer's fairy tale is the inversion of his own story.
Lucifer used to be a beautiful seraphim, but fell from Heaven and lost his family (the angels). He is now stuck in Hell, as a little duck:
Lucifer: Now presenting… the magic-tastical back flipping rubber duck! Haha! That spits fire!
Tumblr media
Oh look! Lucifer himself is a magic-tastical duck, who spits fire :P
So, his fairy tale gives a happy ending to his own tragedy. It is a wish. A dream. It indirectly shows how Lucifer has been handling pain and misery by creating. It also suggests that Lucifer puts himself at the centre of his dreams. He is the ugly duckling.
At the same time, Charlie's narration tells us about herself and how she sees her father.
When I was young, I didn't really know you at all I always felt so small But I hеard your stories and I was enthralled Thе tales about your lofty dreams, I listened breathlessly Imagining it could be me
First of all, Charlie states she never knew who her father was. It is implied Lucifer kept his distance because of depression:
Charlie: We just have never been close. After he and mom split, he never really wanted to see me. He calls, sometimes, but only if he's bored or like needs me to do something.
This is highlighted in Charlie's memory too, as Lucifer appears in a dark study room. Not only that, but he is in the spotlight, while Charlie is in the shadow, which is a metaphor of how she felt distant from him:
Tumblr media
Still, Lucifer embraces little Charlie and shows her some light. He reveals a caring and idealistic self that Charlie is initially unaware of. And this version of Lucifer inspires his daughter.
This affirms that Lucifer's dreams aren't useless. Sure, they are left unfulfilled, but they still motivate Charlie. They are why Charlie is who she is. Moreover, Charlie is enchanted by a simple story, not a big manifestation of power. It isn't a theme park or a circus or human free will. It is a short fairy tale Lucifer comes up with in a matter of seconds. No matter how small, a dream always touches dreamers.
Secondly, Charlie sees herself as the protagonist of the story. She wants to be at the centre of her father's universe and to make him proud. Well, Charlie is going to do exactly this. She is Lucifer's dream. She will fulfill his ambitions. She is turning into a beautiful swan.
Lucifer's arc starts when he understands this:
I've been dyin' to find out who you are I've been waiting, wanting the same thing Looks like the apple doesn't fall far Took you a while I've missed that smile
The King of Hell has been stuck in his own head, consumed by his depression. This is why he is initially alone and surrounded by mediocre rubber ducks. He can't create anything new because he is too focused on himself. The moment he opens his eyes and looks at Charlie, he finds hope again:
I'll support your dream, whatever lies in store And who could ask for more?
Charlie is his new dream, so he should do his best to help her become who she has the potential to be.
When Charlie is a child, Lucifer tells her a story, where he himself is the protagonist. Now that Charlie is an adult, Lucifer must accept Charlie is the protagonist of her own story. And he must help turning this story into reality. This will be his greatest creation. A duckling becoming a swan. A daughter growing-up.
PASSING THE TORCH
Tumblr media
This frame has Lucifer:
Use his light again
Spread his wings
He starts the song by throwing his light away, but ends it by summoning a bigger and brighter torch. Similarly, he starts the episode making rubber ducks out of depression, but ends it with beautiful swan wings.
This metamorphosis happens because Lucifer isn't putting himself at the centre of the universe anymore. Rather, Charlie is his universe.
Lucifer creates a pocket-dimension, which is a bigger version of the fairy-tale of the flashback and has Charlie be its protagonist. He has her play with water, like the little duckling:
Tumblr media
And has her fly at the centre of the scene like the swan:
Tumblr media
In this scene, he gives her the spotlight, both in how he exits the frame and in how he has the light follow her. Charlie is the swan shining brightly at the centre of Lucifer's world (the circus).
More Than Anything starts with Lucifer desperate and focused on the microchosm. It ends with him finding hope in Charlie, who becomes the key to a bigger and more beautiful reality.
Lucifer's biggest success is that he gave birth to Charlie and showed her the light (dreams), even when he himself felt engulfed by the darkness (hell).

Making God a villain in Hazbin Hotel is a very bad idea
To explain why I think would be bad we must first analyse what Hazbin Hotel is. It's a show where Princess Charlie, the daughter of Lucifer and potential heir to rule Hell, is tired of all the needless bloodshet and suffering in Hell and wants to change things by motivating to become better, by having the Hazbin Hotel build in the promise that Heaven would take them back in. And then there is everyone else, all the other demons so far don't give two shits and have either accepted the stagnating painful system of Hell and how people generally are, or even revel in it and don't see the point of giving all that up, as well that the road to redemption is a very long and difficult process and that if multiple people aren't doing it too, you might just get bullied or even killed by the general masses. Vaggie supports Charlie's endevour, but I don't think she truly believes in it either and is just in because she loves Charlie as a person, which is fair. Now imagine if God, the supposed creator of everything and Heaven which is supposed to be the realm of purity and moral goodness, turns out to be some jackass who does things because he wants to be amused and fuel his own ego. That would destroy the entire core premise, the foundation on which the idea of Hazbin Hotel stood on, as not only would it in-universe make everything seem pointless and hopeless, but it would justify the bad guy's behaivor as all the crimes they commit wouldn't matter at the end and seem right to spite God. We want to see the characters grow, change, develope, and see how they surpass their stagnating secon natures by making the hard decitions to overcome what's causing them to be so miserable, but if God was evil, then the moral decitions and teachings would all go right down the toilet. Wouldn't it mean that the best version of themselfes is worse than their worst versions? They might do an endgame plot where they banish or kill God and they still look hopefuly and remain their moral goodness, but it would be such a massive whiplash compared to the messages the show wanted to make at the beginning, it would be like watching an entirely new show, even worse if there's more fanservice and filler and then having to rush the main story (caugh caugh Helluva Boss caugh) What do you think?

I GUESS I’m just going to do a million analyses on Hazbin Hotel, everyone! My hot take on judgement!
Tumblr media
SPOILERS UP TO EP. 6
First, I was wrong about Hazbin Hotel being The Good Place’s antithesis; it’s the logical conclusion. Here, it’s worse than accidentally not knowing how to fairly count good and bad in relation to situations in someone’s control. Not even the head angel knows how anyone ends up in Heaven! If people just randomly pop up on the list, then it’s not about good and bad; it’s about order and chaos. People in Heaven are good because they are treated nicely up there by angels, or act as they perceive they should in a holy place.
Next, Lucifer is walking proof that anyone can be ascended or damned. He’s already one of the nicest characters in the show with being present in a single episode. Lucifer was never mortal, and fell just for questioning Heaven. Yet, he retained his angelic wings and power, rather than having it turn evil or losing all of it. And of course, confirmed that Vaggie is fallen (her name origin is exactly what I didn’t want, thanks Adam), and she was punished for having MERCY on a sinner.
Tumblr media
Adam might already be using the arbitrary nature of entrance to Heaven to his advantage. He might have a free pass as the first human, but if the populace of Heaven know it’s potentially an elevator based on your own progression, he would fall so fast. It also implies that the extermination exists to fear-monger sinners; why try to be good if they can never ascend, and their end will be by an exterminator anyway? Thus the perception that Hell is evil persists through sinners’ hopelessness. That keeps sinners from becoming better, and other angels from questioning, which keeps Adam in Heaven.
But, why might Adam know such a thing and no one else? Because, he might be the actual big bad of the world. We all know he is abhorrent and Sera doesn’t like him. Now that we’ve seen other angels, the exterminator helmets are obviously based on him. He’s got horns, and pitch-black skin, very different from everyone else. He’s much more demonic than angelic in palette and features.
Tumblr media
Adam might not be the poster boy of bad in the Hazbin universe, but he may have at least helped introduce evil and chaos into the world. Whether or not he is playing the long game of fooling everyone in Heaven into arbitrary judgement or not, it seems likely that his demonic appearance is due to eating the fruit in the first place. Please let this dude get punished.
A few more short questions and thoughts:
When did Lilith and Lucifer split? This could imply other things about Alastor’s (now confirmed) own contract.
If Lilith didn’t make a deal with Alastor, who gave him his power all those years ago?
Why can Vox’s programming be accessed in Heaven? It’s not an exterminator’s business to know the sinners they kill, so there’s no other reason for Adam to know who Angel Dust is.
Is Charlie half-human, half-demon, or is Lilith’s side something else? Lilith was/is definitely running the show, not Lucifer.
The fact this is a musical might mean everything is being manipulated by Lilith to us the viewers; she used music to bring Hell to power.

Alastor is a character I really like. Not only for the mystery we see in the series, but also for his design <3
Alastor resembles a deer, and I think deer have something dark and disturbing about them which is perfect for Alastor's character.
Certainly, the deer antlers that hang at my grandmother's house did not contribute to this….
I'm a horror fan and I listen to creepypastas or other scary stories to sleep, so it's no wonder I like Alastor so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here are some small thoughts on the Hazbin Hotel finale! So much has been going on that I'm having trouble getting my emotions and thoughts together! It came out really great!
And if you're curious then beware because there are spoilers below!!!
So many things to think about and analyse after the Hazbin Hotel final!
Lilith - and her lounging on the beach in (presumably) heaven. She didn't seem happy to be interrupted by Lute. But how? What is she doing there? From Lute's words, it seems that Lilith had some sort of deal with Adam, who, through his death and Charlie's antics, their deal lost its power. It's hard to say what that might be about, because I find it hard to believe that Lilith would just lie back and have a go at everything. She loved The Hell and from the pictures you can see in the series she cared about her family. Maybe she made a deal with Adam to walk away from her family and go back to Adam and he wouldn't touch Charlie and Lucifer?
Sir Pentious - just excellent character development. Vivzie did a nice number with his story. Death. He dead in the name of friendship and his values. He experienced redemption! And everyone was betting that Angel Dust would be first XD But Sir Pentious deserved it. I'm sure the rest of the hotel team will find out very soon that Pentious is alive. Emily I'm counting on you! Sera's face was priceless!
Vaggie and Carmila's song was beautiful and wonderful. And I like how Charlie and Vaggie's love is so pure. They have something really special and strong.
Rosie was great too! I didn't expect her to be so charming and supportive. I'm not surprised that Alastor likes her.
Alastor… My favourite deserves a separate post to analyse his behaviour. But there we have it! Alastor is on a leash! He's got a deal that scares him and he's trying to get away from it. But I am increasingly doubting that he is relying on Charlie's help…. Al seemed terrified, although it's hard for me to tell at the moment in these emotions whether he was terrified by the very deal he'd made, or that the deal was taking away his freedom. It seems to me that Alastor craves power and authority, but rather not because he is narcissistic. It's more because more power might give him the ability to break this deal.
Just who did he make it with that it scares him so much? My theory was Lilith, but it's hard to tell now…. We just don't know what Lilith is like and we don't know her motivations, so it's hard to say if she was the one who made the deal with Alastor. If so, what is the true nature of this deal? I think the favour Charlie has with Alastor will be related to his deal. Maybe he will ask her to help him break it? After all, Charlie is a princess of hell, maybe she has the power to break such a deal?
Alastor also seems to be attached to the other residents of the hotel. He is changing! Perhaps he is mellowing through Charlie and becoming slowly good, or at least less cruel?
And his relationship with Niffty is just adorable!
The next season promises to be really exciting. There will definitely be more of Vox, Valentino and Velvette battling for power. Lilith will be back, there will be a new hotel…. There's so much going on!
I can't wait for the next season! As for Alastor, when the excitement subsides and I calm down a bit I'll be sure to analyse our radio demon in detail.

Do you think Adam would be homophobic/transphobic?
The fandom kinda forgets he’s hyper religious so I’m wondering your opinions
Eh, could be. I mean he wasn’t exactly hyper religious as much as super engrossed in Christian theology, which is a bit different? You wouldn’t exactly get a very very strict Christian being sympathetic to Satan, like he was. He basically just read bible fan-fiction and started to view the world through that lens. I feel like he’d have that view of a traditional heterosexual relationship between a cis man and a cis women and he’d be pretty fixated on that, but I also feel like if he encountered other types of relationships he wouldn’t be transphobic or homophobic. After all, kind of a big part of his character is that he feels damned for his existence, and I feel like if he came across that same feeling a lot of queer people tend to experience, his sympathy for that (like his sympathy for Lucifer being outcast/as queer people are often outcast for things out of their control, I feel like he’d sympathise with that) would likely overcome the theology he’s so versed in.
So yeah, I feel like he’d be a lot more likely to go the “ah, fellow creatures outcast and damned at birth by our mutual God” route than the “ummm actually it’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve 🤨” route, but I also think he’d mostly be exclusively sympathetic to queer despair than queer joy. I feel like if he encountered a loving happy gay couple or trans individual he wouldn’t exactly be homophobic, but he’d be more likely to go “alas, even my fellow members of creation cursed from birth are able to find in this existence their own happiness ~unlike me~” than to view them as just regular couples on the same level as a heterosexual couple.
So summary, tldr: he probably wouldn’t hold any contempt towards lgbt individuals and if anything he’d probably really sympathise with them, but he would probably still view them as fundamentally broken or damned from birth.
I can’t believe I just wrote an entire thing analysing if Frankenstein’s monster would theoretically be homophobic

Hi I wanted to ask one of my fav obey me artists this question: Least favorite to favorite characters? If you wanna say why, that'd be cool. If anything! Please have a nice day!
hii there!!! dearest anon stop being so nice you're going to make me cry AHSHDHD thank you,,, <33333
but what a fun question! for anyone who doesn't want to read my stupid long explanation for each character i will leave this tierlist here! all tiers (except the first tier) are organised by most to least liked within the tier from left to right
no i dont hate lucifer, it's just facebook relationship status (aka complicated <3)
Tumblr media
i have plenty of opinions though so i'll go ahead and give some explanations too!! >:D under the cut because there's a lot of rambling here LOL
some of the list is a bit boring because i cant really say i hate or even dislike any characters, and i don't wanna be mean about any characters just cause they're not necessarily my favourites so!
that being said lucifer pisses me off to a comical degree and he absolutely doesn't belong at the bottom but my feelings about him are so ridiculously complicated i don't know where else he belongs? i wish so badly that i could hate him in an uncomplicated way and move on but as an eldest sibling he's such a personal attack on me and i hate it. he's me, i'm him it's horrible. every time i start to think "ahh he's not that bad" he opens his mouth and makes me regret thinking that. i still think about the time i chose to kiss him on the ferris wheel and he held his hand out after and i took it and he said it reminded him of his dead sister, i will never stop holding it against him. he deserves to be loved and taken care of and he also should be thrown off a cliff. im quite certain if i had to assign myself a sin i would pick pride and i hate it >:( (this is all very lighthearted lol)
diavolo used to viscerally annoy me for no good reason when i first started the game, but over time he's grown on me and i'd say now i'm neutral-positive on him!! no idea why i hated him, i was just very salty for no reason hahaha i've recently come to appreciate his character a lot more, im very :( about how lonely he must be and i want him to have more genuine friends please solmare
i think mephisto really is just the kind of character i need to see more of to like, he's very interesting to read character analyses of (and kinda relatable tbh?) but i just need more in game is all! i love his silly lil poses those are real fun, and he is pretty
levi is another i also used to hate out of nowhere? i was neutral on him initially and then i suddenly hated him with a burning passion until one of my friends told me she really loved him and im physically incapable of hating a character my friends love so we're chill again HAHA slowly beginning to like him though! what a pathetic sopping wet cat of a man, it's GREAT
OUUGHH i so badly wanna be able to love beel more, it hurts me to have to put him here but unfortunately this is the way it is... i think it's more accurate to say i love the idea of beel? and ive noticed i really like him everywhere that isnt the game, which again is unfortunate :,)))
LUKE IS MY SON he is babyyyyyyy that's all i have to say <333 my precious lil sonboy he deserves the whole entire world
everyone loves mammon, and i am no exception :D he's not necessarily my type hence why he's neatly placed right in the middle but ugh i love a guy who tries and fails miserably to act tough but is super sweet inside, what a guy <3 ok i flip flopped between putting satan and simeon in the love tier because i am so very fond of both of them, but that's too many characters up there so imagine they're both in a weird tier purgatory between the 2 LOL
i am in fact going to marry simeon and then we will raise luke together it's a fact simeon is everything he's pretty and beautiful and a very complex and interesting character ahhh
SATAN MY LOVE he's a very interesting case to me in that i feel on paper he should be the kind of character who would be on the top of the list! he's smart and kind and unhinged and would kill for you and he likes cats!!! truly husband material i adore him
im going to marry thirteen, thanks for listening to my ted talk <3 my darling beautiful wife who would laugh hysterically if i fell down the stairs i love u thirteen <3333333 we will be wed tomorrow and we will live the dream in her silly lil cave of pranks and curses
i dont know what it is about raphael but i adore him??? is it the wet kitten swag? the done with life expression? his ridiculous outfit? i couldnt tell you but i saw him for the first time and i was immediately obsessed everything i learn about him just makes me more obsessed, i love the fact that he enjoys solomons cooking, the way he's good at sewing and is kind but kinda scary, what a fun character
i could talk endlessly about solomon oh how i love this silly househusband wizard guy i was pretty neutral on him in the og game, and then he swiftly stole my heart in nightbringer and now i would eat his terrible cooking any day of the week just to see him smile <3 if i die seeing him happy that's probably the best way to go out all his calls and messages are sooo cute and they make me melt im in love please just one chance...
barbatos and solomon are typically equal on the list i'd say? but the barbatos brainrot is hitting harder now so he gets to be ever so slightly higher this once hahaha barbs is another that took a while to grow on me, not that i ever disliked him or anything but i definitely overlooked him at first! design wise i absolutely LOVE him, his demon form is definitely one of my absolute favourites. the unique but still put together suit?? the ruffles?? the bone wing horns?? ugh he's just very pretty, and SO interesting as well love a calm collected guy who totally has the potential to destroy you if he so wishes but has a soft spot for you
and of course, real shocker im sure, at the tippy top of the list would be asmo and belphie my beloveds <333 i love them both equally and i could never put one above the other i actually started playing obey me for belphie because one of my favourite character tropes is The Tired One TM, and im absolutely not immune to a cute emo boy either. i've grown to really love his sass and the way he hides his manipulative nature behind his sweet and innocent appearance hehe i also do love how ridiculously forward and blunt he is at times, what a silly guy while belphie was very predictable, asmo was a very out of nowhere character for me! i distinctly remember seeing him initially and thinking "avatar of lust?? i guess he's pretty but he'll probably just be the fuckboy character who makes nonstop innuendos and has no character beyond that, and i'm too asexual for this" so i avoided him a lot at first, but i'm very weak for how kind and gentle and charismatic he is, and the way he puts his all into everything and everyone <333 it didnt take long for me to realise that he's almost exactly the kind of person i aspire to be more like
also miura ayme gives me so much gender envy its not fair send tweet

I am losing my mind with the last chapter. Do u think people thought that something else’s was going on after Lucy and Al came back from their little ‘fight’, cause god the stares…I can understand why Al run XD And The idea of people lining up to sign up the pictures, that was hilarious.
Honestly I am confused of what the vees were trying to archive with this little prank, even if Lucy did nothing it wasn’t that bad of a situation to be found hanging out with the king of hell, besides the only thing it did was make their bond stronger lmao, which it is going to definitely bite them in the back later and I am so in for it.
I love how u write Al and I was wondering if u have some tips, on how to write Alastor when he is being filtered with. I am planning to write a fic as well, And I realised how clueless I am on the subject, cause I have got no clue how to make Al act with such acts towards him.
I mostly blaming the fact that I have never been in relationships and I follow into the ACE spectrum, where I mostly know the basic and cliche of a relationship, but Al is anything but cliche, that man is a ducking mystery and his being a unreliable narrator it’s not helping my dilemma .
Thank u for listening and can’t wait to see how the hotel residents are gonna react at those two being besties and hugging 😭🤣
Thank you!! I wouldn't think so because they clearly look like they were in a fight, so it's more like they're super beat up haha. And I'll talk more about the Vees in the next chapter!
Ooh, I'd be happy to give you some tips! It kiiiind of sounds like you're asking specifically on how to write about Alastor in a relationship? (did I get that right?)
TO ME, [radioapple] would be a relationship of equals. They're both incredibly prideful people, but they should acknowledge each other's strengths, poke fun of their flaws, KNOW that they're very different but still respect each other. And that kind of pride makes them extremely competitive, which you can also write as playful.
Please let me know if you have other questions about it. I can probably write an essay just on the character analyses of Lucifer and Alastor alone lmao, I just felt like this reply was getting too long already ugh

anon that asked about lord diavolo's spotlight event here! (LONG rant incoming, hope you don't mind)
first of all, oml thank you so much for going out of your way to do this much research on it! certainly, if we count the events that aren't necessarily listed as spotlight events, there are bound to be more for some of the characters, and that's the point; i don't even want an official spotlight event for diavolo or luke (though deserved), even just one that is focused on them would be enough for me at this point, because the constant "pushed into the sidelines" treatment given to characters like beel, belphie, luke (poor child is literally neglected) and especially diavolo is exhausting! diavolo's treatment might even be worse with the mischaracterisation and lack of effort to actually analyse his character and see why he does the things he does (by even the devs sometimes -> being written off as "wow so kind", "wow so childish", etc. etc.) running rampant in the fandom (warm hugs to the lovelies who actually care). i'm overjoyed that my love solomon is beginning to get the recognition he deserves, but my god you have such delicious characters like dia with such delectable flaws due to past trauma in front of you, and you just choose to...ignore them?! don't make a game with FIFTEEN characters if you're not gonna care about half of them!
the way people (understandably) want to see all these guys like michael and the demon king while i'm here profusely sweating with worry about the game's already declining writing quality going further downhill with these additions ☠️ like yes, i wanna see them too, but PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF DIAVOLO. FIRST FEED YOUR BABIES BEFORE BRINGING IN MORE.
Oh welcome back, anon! And no, I don't mind long rants, so no worries there!
There are definitely more events that had "spotlights" if not officially I guess?? I dunno how to describe it lol. But you are correct, from what I can remember they didn't have one of the non-spotlight character focused events for Diavolo.
I was curious about the events that didn't have a spotlight listed and how that would change the numbers. I've added them into the list, which I am again putting below a read more at the end of this answer lol.
There was one Celestial Blessing event with outfits in OG after the spotlights began. It was called Valentine's Day Canceled?! and I would have considered it a shared event for Levi & Beel.
Most of the ones in Nightbringer have been for the entire cast, but there was The Demon's Gambit which I felt could have been a Belphie spotlight. Then there was Blue Spring Paradise which could have been a Levi spotlight. And The Scroll of Thirst that could have been a Solomon spotlight. The rest seemed to be mostly about everybody from what I remembered, except for the Vampire event which seemed to focus more on the side characters.
So if you count those events, here's the updated list:
Lucifer - 1 solo, 1 shared Mammon - 2 solo, 2 shared Levi - 1 solo, 2 shared Satan - 2 solo, 1 shared Asmo - 2 solo, 2 shared Beel - 1 solo, 1 shared Belphie - 2 solo
Diavolo - none Barbatos - 3 solo Simeon - 1 solo, 1 shared Solomon - 2 solo Luke - none
It's really confusing, honestly. I don't know why they haven't done Diavolo yet. I always thought he was a pretty popular character??
Anyway, the non official spotlight events seem to be few and far between, so I think we might get an actual spotlight for him sooner? But maybe not??? It's impossible to say with this game, honestly.
The only event in which Diavolo had a more prominent role was A Star for You. I remember it because I loved that event. But they didn't list him as sharing the spotlight with Satan for some reason. I kinda feel like they could have.
ANYWAY not to get overly detailed about which events had who in them YET AGAIN lolol I'm sorry this is just my default mode.
But anyway, I have to agree with you. They've never paid equal attention to their characters. It's always bothered me. Lucifer is their sweet baby boy and while I like him nowadays, I don't like how they focus on him so much that it takes away from the character development of the others.
I also agree about new characters. Like please just give us some development for the characters we already have, thanks. No need to add more, as interesting as it would be to see the designs and what not, I'd rather have further development of the current characters.
Especially the side characters. There is so much potential that they just waste and I think maybe that's why I like writing fic for this fandom lol. That's a little weird, I guess, but it's a lot more fun to take an underdeveloped character and give them all that extra nuance that they're lacking in the source material.
I have my own characterizations and headcanons that fill in that missing stuff because otherwise my brain is like, this doesn't work. Though to be fair, I think a big part of the issue with the writing quality is the format of the game. And my brain is always thinking in terms of an actual novel.
I'm still holding on to hope for Solomon and Barbatos having decent backstories when they're finally revealed. I'll rewrite them both if I have to, though.
Non spotlight events indicated with a ~
Starting with events that were only in OG.
Satan: A Star for You Barbatos: Super Smash Devils ~Levi & Beel: Valentine's Day Canceled?! Mammon & Asmo: Princess Rose Simeon: A Weird White Day
The rest of these were in NB as well.
Lucifer & Asmo: The Cursed Seed and the Fertilizing Flame ~Belphie: The Demon's Gambit Simeon & Mammon: RAD on Stage Satan & Levi: Whisked Away ~Side Characters: The Vampire Special Mammon: Hell Marine Festival Lucifer: Terrible Time Trouble ~Levi: Blue Spring Paradise Asmo: Devil's Water Panic! Barbatos: Fangol Ultra Bowl ~Solomon: The Scroll of Thirst Mammon: An A-mazing Adventure ~Everybody: Trick or Treat Asmo: Fabulicious Beel: The Great Devildom Outdoors ~Everybody: Happy Holidays! Satan: Exciting Inn-cidents! Solomon: Bon Voyage! ~Everybody: Absolute Zero Belphie: Poison Hunting & Candy Making! Barbatos: Dust Storm Panic

@bigprincessrebel hi! I just saw your ask and ummmm so it's gonna have to be part of a somewhat bigger series of posts? I already have two asks about the morality of demons that I'm going to turn into one post, I've got a post about the functioning of the Celestial Realm vs Devildom and how that affects their morality/values in my drafts -> both would relate a lot to your ask. I also have a post about religion vs the the Celestial Realm & Devildom floating around somewhere that I should find cause it's also relevant. But I'm really busy these days so all that might take some time so till then here's a summary of my thoughts
I think it's dumb to believe Diavolo's a shitty ruler because he wants peace between the realms and demons are supposed to be evil? And to believe that the other demons won't like him because of that? Because:
1. The game literally said that Diavolo's voted the most popular demon every year
2. Lots of the background demons have made friends with not only MC (a human) but also with the angels. Hell Luke has demon friends outside of the main characters. Also like pretty sure lots of demons are romantically attracted to humans? Given how there was a queue to give MC Valentine's day presents
Okay but here are the more serious points:
3. It's heavily implied and straight up shown that the Celestial Realm does not equal Heaven the same way the Devildom does not equal Hell. (I have a whole post breaking this down and going into detail that I'll add when I properly answer your ask) meaning that in the same way that OM's angels' aren't inherently good, its demons aren't inherently bad. If you actually stop and look at it, you'll notice that the angels are more prone to everyday violence than the demons eg: Diavolo's solution to stopping an angry dragon being talking to it while Simeon's was to fight it (and we see that Diavolo's solution actually worked). Michael's punishments as an angel were scarier than Lucifer's punishments as a demon. Just generally how trigger happy Raphael is vs how weirdly kind Mammon is
4. OM! may borrow characters and certain plot elements from christianity but it's not a direct parallel or reflection of it so if you try to apply the logic of the "real" stories to these characters then the characters and the world they live in stop making sense and you get a warped version of the story where the demons are pure evil and Diavolo's a shitty leader for trying to go against their nature. The best way, in my opinion, to enjoy it is to acknowledge that there are similarities but ultimately analyse it independently. Using the lens of christianity to look at stories that don't completely follow it is how you end up with things like Disney's Hercules (a fun time but not accurate to the actual source material)
5. A BIG part of obey me is about overcoming prejudice. Like it's not even subtext. It's right there. The angels are shown to see demons as pure evil and a big part of the story is showing them that actually they're also just people. We see this in the Devilgram where Lucifer & Diavolo first meet, in the flashback where Simeon and Diavolo first meet, this is literally the entirety of Luke's arc/character development and in certain things said and done by Michael, Raphael and even Mammon. This....this huge part of the story wouldn't work if the demons actually were evil and Diavolo was just an idealistic idiot...
Anyway this was the summarised version, believe it or not!

Could you analyse ‘Insane’ (the Alastor song by his original voice actor) with the added context of the show itself?
Hello anon!
Thank you for recommending the song, I had yet to listen to it!
That said, I don't really know if there is much to analyze, as the song was written before the series. It seems mostly a fun way to characterize Alastor. It gives you some vibes about who he is, rather than exploring his arc or giving hints about the future. In the end, it is pretty coherent with Alastor's superficial demeanor, which is rooted in his enjoyment of violence and power.
Tumblr media
In any case, I would say the most interesting part is this:
Wait a minute, do I know you? Weren't you an old pal of mine? Departed from us far too early But now we're meeting a second time We used to have such fun together And maybe you have what I need But first, I have one tiny question Tell me, do you demons bleed?
It might foreshadow some kind of future character since none of Alastor's current aquaintances fit. It is implied he meets Husk and Vox in Hell and the lines do not fit his dynamic with Mimzy. Of course, it might also be generic, but it is still interesting.
In general, I would say the main message of the song is that he likes Hell and refuses redemption, which is more or less what we learn about him from the pilot. It is also highlighted by Alastor's own reprise of Charlie's song:
Inside of every demon is a lost cause, ha But we’ll dress 'em up for now with just a smile (Wicked smile) And we’ll chlorinate this cesspool with some old redemption flair And show these simpletons some proper class and style (Class and style) Oh, here below the ground, I’m sure your plan is sound They’ll spend a little time down at this Hazbin Ho—
What's interesting about the Radio Demon so far is that he doesn't really have his own song. Rather, he likes to "steal" others':
Alastor: Can you butt out of my song? Lucifer: Your song? I started this!
As a matter of fact Alastor:
Takes Charlie's Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow and twists it into Inside of Every Demon is a Lost Cause
Takes over Vox's Stayed Gone song and uses it against the TV Demon himself
Tries to make Lucifer's song his, but Mimzy comes and takes over herself
He also has small parts in other songs, where he sings unheard by the protagonist of the scene:
He sings with Rosie (and to himself) in Ready for This, while Charlie is distracted
He sings alone in the Finale, while the Hotel Crew is all together
Why is there such a stylistic choice when it comes to his character? The reason is quite simple. As I have discussed here, Alastor is everyone's Jungian Shadow. This means that he embodies what other characters repress. He is Charlie's fear to fail, Lucifer's sense of inadequacy as a father, Vox's unsolved feelings. So, he either takes over the characters' songs as they fail to face these hidden emotions or he sings unheard, because they are not even ready to aknowledge some parts of the self.
This also ties with Alastor's radio motif. After all, what is a radio if not a technology that "captures" people's voices and songs?
Mimzy: No one knew what happened to 'em, until these strange radio broadcasts started going out. All you could hear were screams. Every time an overlord went missing, there'd be a new voice screaming in the broadcast! That's when Alastor revealed himself as the radio demon, and anyone that would mess with him… chuckles well, let's just say, his broadcasts never lacked new voices.
Alastor grows in power by defeating Overlords and broadcasting their screams. So, he takes others' voices and makes them louder (in a bad way). In the series, he has a similar double role:
He takes over others' voices by hijacking their songs or twisting their messages
He makes and will make other people's voices stronger (in a good way). For example, he is gonna amplify Charlie's voice and message:
Tumblr media
At the same time, Alastor himself uses the radio to hide his own voice, which is constantly filtered:
Tumblr media
The moment his staff gets broken, Alastor shows his real voice, his real self for a short moment. His mask cracks.
So, Alastor not having his own song is actually much more meaningful for his character than having one. It shows how he likes manipulating others and their insecurities, so he doesn't have to truly show who he is:
Alastor: Just because you see a smile, don't think you know what is going on underneath. A smile is a valuable tool, my dear. It inspires your friends, keeps your enemies guessing and ensures tha no matter what comes your way, you're the one in control.
He is the radio demon, a jungian shadow who steals and twists others' music, so that he can hide his voice behind others' words.
In conclusion, I don't think the Insane song is very meaningful (I might be wrong or change my mind), but I think there is much to analyze in Alastor's lack of a song. Moreover, his parts in the song he invites himself are actually loaded with meaning. His foiling with Charlie, Lucifer and Vox tells a lot about Alastor, much more than any solo song :)
Thank you for the ask!
