I love how useless the men in hatchetfield are. Emmas the one coming up with ideas to keep them alive, lex pulls tom out of it, Becky actually kills linda, and grace sacrifices her soul.
The men are there to sacrifice themselves for their ladies and thats about it, and i love them for it.

Coming back from Narnia pt. 1 Peter
After getting back, the Pevensies feel out of place, wrong. Merely seconds ago they were kings and queens of Narnia, Susan and Peter almost reaching thirty years of age; and now they are thrown into reality, into young bodies who have barely grasped the concept of life.
When they get back to London and their family house Helen ( their mum ) is thrown off by their behavior. What on earth happened to her kids that might have changed them in such a wast introspective?
Her kids, that she thought she knew so well, are now completely different people. From the affection they all show her to the new intellectual level her children have reached. It all seems surreal, almost impossible.
And one of the most off-putting things she realizes, in matter of time of course, is that all her children have a fond respect of their oldest brother, Peter. And for Helen, this might’ve been even more off-putting, is that he not only likes it but demands it.
When his father first gets back from war, for a few weeks it seems House Pevensie has been thrown into the front lines of a new found war. There is a certain kind of tension you can usually feel before an explosion, and boy does it scare the family.
Peter and his father don’t fight, but you can certainly feel there’s something in the air that tastes only too well like gunpowder. Peter does not really accept at first that he actually isn’t the head of the family, and his father notices right away.
At first it’s benevolent glances and kind smiles, kissing the top of his head before standing up to go fetch the newspaper in the morning. His father loves him, of course, but like this he is also reminding Peter that at the end of the day he is merely a thirteen year old boy with too deep eyes and a feeling of asserting dominance.
But then one day Peter makes a silly comment, mumbling under his breath about how he can’t keep the children in line, and his father is looking at him, deep in his rage, and finds a knowing look, almost mocking, from his oldest.
He’s smacking his fists on the table, pointing to Peter’s room without a word, white rage in his eyes. The others say nothing.
And in that moment a hurtful realization hits Peter. His father doesn’t respect him like he wants to because Peter is not High King anymore, he’s not an adult. In his father’s eyes he’s just an impertinent child who needs a scolding.
And so he leaves it, doesn’t demand constant respect anymore, even though it gnaws away at his own persona. He feels like leaving the role of High King behind him is like leaving Narnia behind him, like a past life. And he’s not completely ready to just do that.
So he asserts his dominance ( almost like an animal, like a lion ) in school. He makes everyone clear that his siblings are not to touch or disrespect. Especially his sisters.
Once in the first weeks of school a stupid fool thought to make a move on Susan, calling her pretty, dashing, extraordinary. But slowly, very slowly, his hand on her upper hip moved lower and lower, and slowly, very slowly, Susan began to feel uncomfortable.
Of course she could’ve hit him. She was a queen, after all. Nobody could touch her without her consent, especially in places that made her feel uncomfortable.
But as soon as the thought crossed her mind, she already saw a golden mane shining in the morning sunlight, directly pointing at her and the silly boy. She saw two big strong hands placing themselves on the shoulders of the boy with an immense force, and a moment after the boy was on the floor, spitting out grass and dirt.
Peter looked at the boy fuming with rage, and wanted to hit again, but was met with Susan’s reassuring hands on his chest, stopping him from hitting the boy properly. At the end Susan was called the Gentle for a reason.
But after that curious episode, no one dared to touch Susan again. A few bullies tried to properly beat Peter once in a while, but after nearly six months, Peter was unreachable.
And so his respect was also earned in school, after time also by teachers.
But at home, his father was the head of the family. And it was almost too bitter to be reminded that. From High King to respectful son.

Hatchetfield headcanons?
Let’s see…
Holloway has lots of scars from living for centuries and hides them with the jacket. These include:
Lightning scars
Wiggly: sucker/tentacle marks
Pokey: cracks
Blinky: eye like circular pattern. Red vein squiggles at end.
Tinky: hoof print
Nibbly: bite marks
Her accent gets stronger when she’s mad. Same for Duke, but you rarely hear it.
Original name was Holly-May Logan.
The strange carving it’s mentioned she has in Killer Track, is a part of Pokey’s mask.
Ryan Reynolds is the person running against Solomon for mayor. He’s pushing the problematic pooch story because it shows how horrible the town has gotten under Solomon’s rule. You’d think the disappearance of his wife right before he got elected would be a bigger deal, but no, time for our daily Peanuts the Hatchetfield Pocket Squirrel segment!
The Obnoxious Teen is actually different versions of Pete after an encounter with the Bastard Box. He now lives in a never ending hell of minimum wage jobs.
Grace’s birthday is September 9th, buy a priest a beer day.
The Honey Queen sacrifice takes place on the summer solstice at midnight.
Description of the tree that grew from Willabella: Gnarled roots extend from a bulbous center. No leaves hang from its crown of branches. It is not natural. Nothing grows near it, except the apples that grow for its branches, never ripe and always rotten. A hollow in the center is swarming with spiders whose web spans across it. Several scars are evident from where the Hatchetmen, once they realized their mistake, tried to cut it down. From its branches hand charms of protection and containment that replace old ones of worship. It grows behind the old Waylon Hall, over the sight of Willabella’s execution. Like the Hall, many rumors swirl around it and foolish children often dare each other to touch the bark.
The Blade of Truth that MacNamara uses on the Sniggles is one of multiple PEIP has constructed. With help from Holloway, they were able to harness the White’s energy into physical form. Each Blade requires a secret to be whispered into it as it forms, one no one has ever heard before. If someone tells a lie while holding the Blade, it shatters.
The Foster family are descended from Willabella and a Hatchetman with the last name Forester. Willabella had no love for him and only got pregnant to delay her execution.
The Stockworth family vacations in Hatchetfield because they have connections with the Church of the Starry children. Lucy is not aware if this.
Charles Coven was part of PEIP and went by Carlo at the time.
PEIP has ID numbers based on the Stith Thompson’s Motif Index of Folk-Literature. Basically a collection of a bunch of different motifs in folklore.
Wilbur: D1310.10.1. Magic apple gives supernatural knowledge.
Holloway (Holliway this identity): G220.0.1. "Black" and "white" witches. Malevolent and benevolent.
John: B147.2.1.2. Eagle as omen of victory.
Xander: J1291.2. Theological questions answered by propounding simple questions in science.
Douglas Keane Sr. was an informant for PEIP. Basically, PEIP goes around to various people in professions where the supernatural may be encountered (law enforcement, medical, park rangers etc.) and gives them a little presentation with very vague language about if they seen anything unnatural, or out if the ordinary, to give their office a call. Since Hatchetfield is such a hotspot, Douglas knows a lot more about the supernatural than most informants do and is on first name basis with several PEIP agents. (This is heavily based off a book called The Rook by Daniel O’Malley.)

Song of The Day (May day edition 🚩🌹🥖
youtube
"Solidarity Forever"
Joe Glazer, 1977
"Solidarity Forever" is an adaptation of the famous abolitionist song, "John Brown's Body" published in 1861 and created by Union Soldiers, based on the famous slave abolitionist John Brown.

In 1915, Ralph Chaplin a poet, labor activist, and member of the International Workers of the World (IWW) wrote the words for "Solidarity Forever" to the tune of the abolitionist song. It was first published in the 9th Edition of the Little Red Songbook. The earliest recording was by the Almanac singers in 1941
A year before Ralph Chaplin died, he wrote: "Why I Wrote Solidarity Forever". I highly recommend reading the whole thing but I will be summarizing parts of it here.
Chaplin had first heard the term 'Solidarity' from founding IWW member Eugene Debs, and tried to instill the idea within the song
"What we were seeking was a united labor movement – 'all for one and one for all' – and it was this principle that I tried to embody in 'Solidarity Forever'. That is why, if for no other reason, that the story of 'Solidarity Fovever' may be worth the telling."
He began writing the song in 1913 in response to the Kanawha County miners' strike. The Strike resulted in 50 violent deaths if not more, and the arrests of hundreds of workers and labor organizers.
Labor Activist Mother Jones rallying Workers 1912, Wikimedia Commons
"Solidarity Forever" wouldn't be finished until January 15, 1915, two days before Lucy Parsons (another founding mother of the IWW) led a march in Chicago of over 15,000 people demanding relief from hunger and unemployment.
Since then, the song had become very popular among striking and exploited workers, especially miners and loggers
"It is true that 'Solidarity Forever' was written in Chicago, but it is also true that nobody ever heard of it until fifty thousand striking Puget Sound loggers bellered it out to a world that didn't care a hoot about the problems of vote-less and cruelly exploited 'timber beasts'. It is also true that the young author of 'Solidarity Forever' had been shaped by bitterly contested labor struggles, including a two-year strike against mine owners of Kanawha County, West Virginia, but that it took the sustained militancy of the grass-roots Western Federation of Miners, in the face of equally ferocious opposition to put the hefty punch into 'Solidarity Forever'that later on made it the theme song of the entirely latter-day labor movement."
It is now considered one of the IWW's most famous songs and has become wildly adopted by many types of unions and labor organizers, which Chaplin was critical of.
"Something also beyond the wildest stretch of my imagination was the possibility of Big Unionism competing with Big Business on fairly equal terms – and using identifcal promotional devices, including singing commercials – to keep business booming. That sort of 'solidarity', in my humble opinion is nothing to brag about, or sing about."
The Legacy of "Solidarity Forever cannot be understated. it has been translated into many languages, and sung by leftists everywhere. From its history as both an abolitionist song, a miners' song, a Chicago song, and a logger's song; it serves as a reminder that many people fought and died for basic rights and labor protections.
Many people these days wonder how Joe Hill could stop traffic on busy skid row street corners singing such hilarious songs as 'Pie In The Sky' and 'Mr. Block', or how he could refuse to be blindfolded when he faced the firing squad at the Utah State Prison, and himself give the order for the fatal volley that made his name the symbol of dedicated service to the economic underdog. Or why the striking loggers on the S.S. Verona chose to die singing 'Hold the Fort' and 'Solidarity Forever' in the rain of bullets from a mob of respectable businessmen on the docks at Everett, Washington. Or why young Wesley Everest, union organizer and World War I veteran, was lynched at midnight from 'Hangman's Bridge' in Centralia, Washington. Or why my good friend and fellow worker Frank Little was given the same treatment by hired anaconda gun-thugs for attempting to organize the mercilessly exploited hardrock miners at Butte, Montana. This could go on and on, every word of it is true, but only to be discounted as the resentment of an old codger mumbling through his beard.
And this is it. When the mask of humanity falls from Capital, the only thing we have left is Solidarity for our fellow workers. Solidarity Forever.

Okay, almost done with the original run of Twin Peaks, only the finale remaining, and I love that the current plot-lines are:
Will the nefarious long-thought-dead man and his sweetheart brother-in-law find the hidden treasure?
Will this couple stay together?
Can this other couple overcome one still being married to an amnesia stricken crazy woman with super-strength?
Did the amoral millionare gone woke have an affair with this character's mom?
Will the lovable comic relief dummy choose the other lovable comic relief dummy, or the foppish douche?
Can they stop the insane FBI agent turned serial killer from using evil spirits to unleash hell on Earth?
Who will win the Miss Twin Peaks competion?

Diane, 1 P.M. Note the following: Harry S. Truman is not just infatuated, his fixated with mill owner, Josie Packard. There’s a mysterious quality about her, an unsolved mystery. Spelled D-A-N-G-E-R. Run a check on Mrs. Packard, widow of Andrew, maiden name, unknown. Chinese National. Immigrating here, via Hong Kong, six years ago. I’m fond of Harry Truman. The thought that he may be in over his head is troubling to me. Here’s hoping I’m way off the mark.
Diane, continuing with notes from observations of the physical relationships within the closed confines of the station house, Lucy, the receptionist, is sending out signals that she is: 1. Very upset with Deputy Andy Brennan and 2. Very Pregnant.
