Feeling Thankful this morning for another day to chase my goals🙏💜✨⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Not much to report for this week's #FhysiqueUpdate with @austincarterfitness Still hovering close to the same gravitational pull and still lifting 6 days a week!! 💪🔥⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Definitely been struggling to find motivation lately like most of us. The stress has taken a toll on every part of me but we are still workin' and still pushin' towards the goal!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Working towards a show has kept me focused on something positive throughout this lockdown. Great graphic by my dude and top-notch coach @laplante_fitness . WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT LINEAR - by @laplante_fitness . In regards to fitness, progress is not always linear. Often it comes in waves. Take this chart of my weigh-ins as an example. If I only stepped on the scale during one of the peaks or valleys above, I would have a totally skewed idea of my progress. However, if you look at the red trend line, you’ll see that I was consistently making progress throughout the month despite my weight fluctuating. . Carbohydrate, water, fiber, and sodium intake (just to name a few) will naturally cause your weight to fluctuate by a factor of multiple pounds. This is why it’s so important to take at least three weight measurements during the week and use the average of those weigh-ins for assessing progress. . One weigh-in does not reflect the your progress, so don’t let it get in your head! It’s harder said then done. And I’d be lying if I said a bad weigh-ins don’t bug me just a little bit. But, practicing using weekly averages of your weight will provide understanding of what causes your weight to fluctuate. 1st #FHYSIQUEUPDATE of 2020 in my pretty purple @muscledazzle practice suit! 💜⁣⁣ My checkin with Coach⁣⁣ @AustinCarterFitness👇⁣⁣ .⁣⁣ Today's check-in is looking good!🔥⁣⁣ Got 5 training sessions in this week.⁣⁣ I swear I can still feel my glutes burning😅🍑⁣⁣ Completed 3 cardio sessions, keeping the incline level at 10 and walking at a brisk 3.0-3.2 for about 15-20min.⁣⁣ Weight has been steady around 128 lbs for several weeks now while we have increased my calories. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My back and neck have been a bit stiff this past week, but I believe it's because it's time I get back in to see my favorite Doc at @Nwachiro so he can straighten things out for me.😅👐⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I honestly feel really good about my progress this week. I may not have hit some big PR's but I did enjoy some good comfort foods, managed to relax, and focus on myself and my boyfriend, which was extremely nice. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I am super happy with the results of my recovery season. We have made necessary changes to my training program and not only do I look great, I feel amazing! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Being a little fluffly honestly doesn't bother me much anymore. I used to get so nervous about posting my #checkin pics in my improvement seasons but this year, I feel completely different. I have confidence in my ability to work hard and be disciplined enough to reach my goals. So, I'm not stage lean all the time, though I like to stay about 16 weeks out while I work on recovering my body. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ While my recovery season coming to an end is truly bittersweet, I am so ready to get started smashing this season's prep!💥⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This will be my 3rd Season competing in the @npcworldwideofficial and I couldn't be more excited to step on stage at the national level again!!! 🍏Eating "clean" or "healthy" but not seeing results?🥕🥦🥑🥗⁣ ⁣ We were on a call with the a potential client yesterday learning how we could help her when I asked about her eating habits. She told me that she has been working out, eating clean and healthy for a while now but she felt she must be eating the wrong things because she's not seeing any results! ⁣ ⁣ I told her: Actually, you can eat chicken, rice and asparagus every single day and maintain the same or even gain a little weight. You can eat other "healthy" or "clean" foods daily and still not see progress. On the other hand, you can have ice cream and lose weight! ⁣ ⁣ ⚠️IT'S ALL ABOUT CALORIES AND PORTION SIZES⚠️⁣ ⁣ In NO WAY am I telling you that you should eat ice cream or ample amounts of other calorie dense foods and there is not a thing wrong with eating chicken, rice, or asparagus.⁣ ⁣ What I AM saying is that if you're not seeing progress with the way you're eating now and you don't already track your calories, ⁣ you should start logging what you eat. ⁣ You may be surprised at how many calories you are actually eating on a daily basis!⁣ ⁣ If you're unsure of how to start tracking your calories and making progress in a sustainable and flexible manner, ⁣ l'd love to help you! My story💕How I dropped the fear & started to live my life #passionatelyfearless! . Growing up, I never liked exercising, and honestly I just straight up feared any workout or the thought of going into a gym. I was terrified of going to group classes, running the mile in school, playing kickball during recess on the black top...fast forward 15+ years and I finally realized what I specifically feared: PAIN. Pain in how my body would hurt, how my muscles would feel fatigued, how I'd be out of breath after 30 seconds. So, I quit. I quit a lot. . About 2 years ago was the last time I quit. I moved to a new city & saw that there was a gym within walking distance, so I joined. I joined because the *thought* of working out sounded good; I wanted to "tone" my body & was sick of being unhealthy. Shelled out $40 bucks a month only to have 6 months go by and I never even stepped foot into the gym.🤦🏽‍♀️Not once. I finally decided to quit. And, I did. . After a few months I, once again, wanted to get healthier and told myself that I was going to do this! But there was my other half, sitting on my shoulder, telling myself that I always say that I am going to start exercising and eating right but I never would do it. And that moment right there was my trigger moment. So, I started slow.🙌🏽 I went to group classes & little by little I'd increase the amount I went every week which started to build up my endurance, gained some strength, & I started to feel healthier overall. I realized that getting over that hurdle where it took me minutes to become out of breath instead of 5 seconds, where I did 15 burpees instead of 3, where I could hold a plank for 60 seconds instead of 15 seconds....that HURDLE is just our challenging point. It's there for us to push ourselves way past our comfort zones & push us past our fears. This is the first time I finally got past that hurdle & if only I knew where that would take me so many years ago. Finally, I was ready to re-join the gym & face a new fear. .
