Max clenched his jaw. Across the sand dunes, bodies had been scattered; some of them were torn apart, missing limbs. Missing eyes. A few of them had bite marks in the legs, in the arms. In the face. Eating flesh wasn't exactly uncommon anymore. People were driven to extremes to try and keep surviving; he realised that when he caught a man crouching by a body, teeth ripping into the calf.
He shuddered at the thought, sinking down into the makeshift trench as he held onto his gun; he just had to time things right, make sure that he got them as they were reloading. That was all. He nodded, counting the seconds as his lips parted slightly; he was about to rise up, when he noticed another person bounding down towards him.
He growled, shaking his head before tackling them to the ground. His hands firmly on their chest, he scowled as he straddled their waist.
"Keep your head down unless you want to get shot!"
You looked him up and down, taking note of his face; his plush lips and his blue eyes. You hummed, appreciative. "Y'know, if Furiosa had told me I'd be working with someone so handsome, I would've come sooner."
Max rolled his eyes, grunting as he made his way back to his position. He counted the shots being fired, and settled down with his back against the side of the makeshift trench; he was counting each one, knowing exactly when they would run out and he could return fire. He didn't mind that you sat opposite him, so close together that your leg was between his.
He had a hard time not leaning into it. He couldn't deny, now he got a good look at you, that he was rather enjoying the view; rough and rugged, frayed at the edges. Like him. He nodded slowly, but knew that nothing could ever happen; Max was far too broken, and you were far too respected.
One of Furiosa's best. Max couldn't. He swallowed thickly, chewing at the inside of his lip when you dared to nudge his legs apart, kneeling between them with your hands on his shoulders. You pushed yourself up slightly, enough to look over the edge; Max's breath hitched, his hands coming to your hips as he held on tightly. For security, of course. Just in case he needed to pull you down.
"What is it?"
"They've paused," you told him. "They're setting a trap… say, you keep holding my hips like this, I might just find a better way to spend our time while we wait."
Max grumbled, rolling his eyes as he helped to ease you back down; your hands rested on his chest, your face so close to his that he could feel your easy, steady breathing.
Were you seriously flirting with him? In the middle of a fucking gunfight?
He huffed, leaning back and folding his arms across his chest. Shutting you out as he looked down the trench. But then you moved, and captured his attention again with ease. Pulling your shirt off and letting the material fall behind you; Max clenched his jaw, looking at your torso with great interest for a moment before he looked away again.
Why? Why did she have to send you?
"Like what you see, Max?"
He scowled at you. "You should cover up."
"Why?" You scoffed, laughing. "It's hot. I can't focus if I've got sweat in my eyes."
He growled under his breath, shaking his head and licking his lips before he shrugged off his jacket and passed it to you. "You'll get hurt."
"Fine," you rolled your eyes, taking the jacket and shrugging it on. You didn't dare to zip it up. "But I'm keeping it open."
Max glared at you, which was usually enough for people to back up and actually listen to him, but not you; you just grinned at him, letting your tongue dart out to wet your lips. The movement was slow and casual, but to Max, it only made his breath hitch in his throat.
He grabbed his gun, and took a look over the edge of the trench; you were right. They were trying to lure your side into a sense of false security so that they could unleash whatever beast they had hidden away under that mass of tarpaulin. He grumbled.
Why did you have to be right?
"I'm a tactician," you told him when he sat back down and faced you. "Furiosa's best."
Tactician. Of course. For fuck's sake.
"Hmm."
"Furiosa said you needed help getting rid of the raiders," you clarified. "So she sent me whilst she dealt with the ones to the East."
"Right."
"You don't talk much," you told him, nearly laughing. "I like that."
"You talk too much," Max huffed.
"Maybe you can find a way to shut me up," you said, shamelessly looking at his lips. "Or maybe you'll find a couple of ways."
He sighed heavily, knowing that he shouldn't; he couldn't deny that it was a tempting invitation from an all too good looking person. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he shook his head as he tried to think of a better way to deal with things; he ran a hand down his face, grumbling to himself.
It wasn't that Max wasn't thinking about kissing you, or that he didn't want to, but he knew he shouldn't invite you into his life; he was too broken, he had been through too much, and he knew that he would only break you, upset you, cause you pain. He couldn't let that happen.
It was going to be a long few days. He knew he would be distracted the entire time, unable to do his job properly; but he has to power through, for the good of everybody else. He didn't need to be so selfish that he would disregard the safety and needs of others.
Even if you were sitting there wearing his jacket and exposing a strip of flesh where you had it undone.
Even if you did look like an oasis in a desert.

mad max fury road absolutely destroyed me so here’s some max brainrot!
also, apologies for all the unanswered asks, i legit haven’t written anything since well before december, but i’m trying to get back into it. just, you know, a lot going on :))
tw: mentions of sa, blood, canon typical violence
you’re one of joe’s wives, so obviously you’ve got a lot of trauma and you’re not exactly used to being out in the open. but, when furiosa tells you to follow her onto the convoy, you don’t hesitate one bit. you would do anything to get away from joe and the prison joe crated for you and the other girls. nothing can be worse than what you’ve already been through.
the hiding hole in the convoy is dusty and hot. it’s hard to breathe through the smoke and sand whirling through the crowded space, and you’re pushed up against the hard metal, Toast’s elbow in your stomach. when the convoy stops moving, you relish the opportunity to stretch your legs and drink some water. the thin cloth that covers your body is gritty with sand and stained by tears. if you had anything else to change into, you would.
the sun is brighter than anything you’ve ever seen. the sand is warmer than you expected, and you remind yourself that people die out here. but the water is cold and it’s sweet on your tongue, the hope of survival clawing it’s way from your chest.
at first, like everyone else, you don’t trust him one bit. he’s a stranger, and a man, and you’re not sure he’s sane. he doesn’t even have a name that you know of.
but there’s something about him. something that tells you he won’t hurt you or any of the other girls. the brown eyes that he hides under that mask are cunning and strange, yes, but there’s a level of honesty in them that makes you want to trust him.
furiosa’s killswitch stops him before he gets too far, and then he’s forced to take your group. you’re squeezed up from with him and her, the daggers between them enough to make it uncomfortable. she has control- you’re not worried about that- but he has pretty much all of the weapons furiosa hid away.
for the most part, the time passes in silence. Toast and Splendid argue some, and Dag takes the middle ground. Furiosa concentrates on the road, and the man curls as far into the metal of the door as he can, weapons stashed underneath his feet.
it’s not until much later, after you’ve met up with the women from the green place, that you talk to him for the first time. the sky is dark and streaked with sandstorms in the distance, greys and oranges flooding the atmosphere.
“all the others have names. you don’t?” he asks. you’re sitting in the front seat with him again, Furiosa deep in conversation with one of the older women.
“you haven’t told us your name either,” you bite back. “and my name isn’t your concern. neither are their names.” you nod toward the group of girls curled up on the back seat, each looking more and more exhausted.
he accepts your answer with a small nod. “i wouldn’t want to keep a name he gave me either.” there’s a surprising level of understanding in his eyes.
“it’s not that.” he doesn’t look convinced. “it’s not just that,” you correct. “i don’t have anything else to go by. i’m not used to having people use my name for good things.”
“i wouldn’t want to contribute to that bad streak,” he agrees. “what do i call you, then?”
you think for a moment. it doesn’t take you long to come up with a name. it’s something you heard Cheedo talk about one time, probably just a story about a place with streets made of water, opera houses full of painted tiles, and people crammed together but happy. “venice. you can call me venice.”
“venice it is, then.”
the next day, the plan changes. you never thought you would want to head back to where you came from, but it’s better than the alternative. years riding nowhere. sun blisters and sand burns.
the road back to the stronghold is dangerous. it’s risky. but you have Furiosa and the man with you. they’re just as dangerous, you think.
you didn’t expect to survive, though. yes, you lost Splendid and Nux. it hurt like you thought it would, but you haven’t had enough time to really consider it. not with everything going on. not when you find out the man’s name is max. it’s a good name, an old name. one without this world’s pain ingrained into it.
it’s been hours on the road with him and you can’t sleep. every time you close your eyes you see joe’s figure lurking over you or splendid’s body roll underneath truck tires or even flames eating at nux as rubble and rock crushed him into the ground. you know you’re going to be home soon, if you can even call the stronghold a home.
you know you’re getting on max’s nerves. he doesn’t say anything, but the glances in your direction are enough. you pick at your fingernails until they’re raw and bite and the inside of your cheek until it bleeds. none of it helps. you can’t sleep.
finally, he breaks the silence. “why don’t you try to sleep?” you don’t need to tell him why. he’s heard your screaming and your panicked breaths. he knows what happens when you try to sleep. “there’s nothing that used to help you fall asleep? with the other girls?”
“toast and i used to hold each other when it was too much.” you don’t know why you tell him. you would never wake Toast up, not when she’s finally fallen asleep after fitful attempts. and it’s not like max is going to hold you while you sleep. he has more important things to do.
you don’t expect him to offer. you really don’t. with Furiosa hurt, its on him to drive. it shouldn’t be much further, but it’s enough.
“lay you head down,” he says softly. when you don’t immediately respond, he adds, “you don’t have to, but i think it’ll help you get some sleep.”
“okay,” you agree uncertainly. slowly, carefully, like you’re trying not to scare him or yourself, you lean over and lay down, your back on the warm metal of the seat. your head rests gently on his thigh, and you try not to put too much pressure on him. you know he’s sore, and you aren’t sure this is what he wants.
“there you go.” his voice is quiet but, for once, sure of himself. his hand reaches to card through your hair and brush it off your face. “try to sleep, now.”
it’s easier than you thought it would be, trusting him. letting him take care of you. but, somehow, you do. maybe it’s because you know his name and because he’s saved you so many times. whatever it is, you let him lull you to sleep with his gentle hands tracing the curves of your face.

Somewhere in The Wasteland: 4 Months Later
Abner and his gang have been out in the long orange desert for quite some time and have been losing track of the days and nights for quite some time. Ever since Akia and her family escaped from Red Hill Town, Abner was becoming more frustrated and crazed as every day for him, he felt like he was losing his woman as they continued to drive in the desert. Some nights he would not sleep until the sun would set up in the sky once again, praying for his false god to give him strength and a sign to guide him to Akia.
“Oh my king, my god, stretch your hand towards me and please give me a sign that she is near to me. Oh please, my master, for she is mine and only mine to have,” he would say some night ago while he would pray on his knees fully naked inside his tent surrounded by wax candles.
He would also, on some other days, with some luck, find wondering travelers of any kind. And would proceed in devouring their bodies and sometimes used them in sacrificial rituals to give to his demonic god. Hoping that his offerings would, in return, bring him more luck in finding his queen.
After what felt like another hopeless day of not finding any sign of Akia, Abner and his men, however, stumbled upon an unusual little town. Not knowing what was waiting for them up ahead, they ended up going to the abandoned town. As they drove up the quiet and dead place, Abner instructed his men to look everywhere for any sign of Akia or her family, and so they did.
“I want all of you to search everywhere, and don’t miss a single area of this place, now go,” Abner said as he pulled his hood over his head, as got out of his car.
“Yes master, you heard him men get your asses moving,” Vlad commanded, as the rest of the men did what they were told.
The men then scattered everywhere to find anything about Akia and her family, but there was no sign of either her or them. Abner then got more impatient every second and every moment as he himself searched for any clues of any kind. He then walked up to what looked to be a run-down butcher’s building, and he then made his way inside. As he opens the creaky and old door of the monumental structure, inside there wasn’t much to see. He then removed his hoodie from his head and, in the corner of his eye, spotted some stairs on his left side. He then made his way up the second floor as the stairs became creaky whenever he stepped one foot after the other.
As he made it to the top, he then saw some see-through drapes ahead of him. And from what he could see from the other side were candles dimly lit. As he took out his gun from behind his belt, he then slowly walked sideways towards the room. While having a firm grip on the gun, he then gently removed the drapes to the side. To his surprise, there was nothing but candles and a bunch of other trash Abner found odd. As he then walked his way around the room, he then noticed some things here and there. Thinking that someone or something might live here or not.
Before he could shrug that thought away, he then heard a faint thud coming from downstairs. Abner then made his way to the sound and, as he looked down below, he saw a small group of people. And what captured his eye the most were the masks that they were wearing. Abner found this strange, but he became a bit interested in who these people were. Before he could say something, Vlad and some men then appeared from the front entrance.
“Intruders, intruders send the signal!!!” one of the masked people as they then scattered around to get away from them.
“Get them!!!” Vlad yelled out as one man then shot at one of the masked people, but missed.
As one of the masked people was climbing to the top of the building, they then took out a gun and released a colored signal bomb up in the air. As the bomb then dissolved into a colored red smoke, from afar more of the mask people rode their way towards the town. Vlad then made a loud whistle signal to the others, while the other men then shot two of the masked people.
As the other group members heard the loud whistle from afar, Eligdor noticed ahead of him another group approaching. And so, without losing a second, he then commanded the men to ready their weapons.
“Incoming, there is new flesh coming on our way so get moving now!!” He shouted out as the other boys then got to their positions.
“Eligdor, get those cars moving. Don’t let these unknown wanderers get to us,” Abner shouted out while Vlad and the two boys were behind him.
“Yes sir, you heard him men get going!!!” Eligdor said as a small group of boys got inside one car.
As two vehicles came to life, they then sped up towards the new incomers, as Abner got inside his car and ignited the car. As he then sped up hard on the pedal, as he followed along behind the first two vehicles. Not knowing if this will end in a good way or in some sort of lucky way could work out with these new wandering mask people.

Zinnia Town
It has been over a while since Akia and her family have been staying at Zinnia Town, and there has been no sign of Abner. This made Ethan feel a little uneasy, but what mattered to him the most was that his family was safe. Ethan and everyone else all have been adjusting to the town’s new atmosphere and got to know the town better than they did when they arrived. They got to know almost everyone inside the town. They were taught how to plant flowers, mostly Akia and Terra. The boys and Max would take long scouts to find food and water, while Alex, still young, would stay behind for his safety.
“Come on Ethan, I’m already older to be with all of you. Besides, I could just use my knife and the crossbow that you’ve been teaching me. I just hate that you’re still treating me like a child,” Alex said some time ago, while Ethan adjusted the saddle on one horse.
“Ethan, let the boy come with us. It wouldn’t hurt a bit if he gets to see what we do. Either way, we might need someone to look out for our stuff while we’re out there. It’s not a hard task for him,” Matthew said as he buckled the saddle on his horse.
“Yea, Ethan, let Alex go out with us for a moment. The kid would be with us all along. You act as if he might go run off alone somewhere, which is the last thing he should do,” Milo said as he walked along a brown horse to put a saddle on.
Ethan just sighed at these suggestions as he looked back into the younger boy’s eyes.
“Alright fine. Clearly, I’m outnumbered by you three. Alright but don’t be whining about the heat since it’s kind of hot today,” Ethan said as he finished adjusting the saddle over the horse’s back.
“Not a problem captain, and actually Ethan, have you seen Akia today? I’ve been trying to look everywhere for her since this morning. Do you know if she’s with Terra and the gardeners, or she went on a run with another group?” Alex asked as he walked behind Ethan.
“Not really, no, but I’m sure she’s around or with Elijah. I’m pretty sure she is in the training hall, which she mentioned sometime earlier today. Matthew told me that Max will help her out, with some other members,” Ethan said as he unlocked the wooden door as he gently took out a brown mustang horse.
“But I thought you said you didn’t trust him at all when he’s around with Akia. Why suddenly you changed your mind about Max?” Alex questioned as he took the reins in his hands as they made their way back to the others.
“I just do. I can’t really explain it well, but Max is something else. Especially since he has done a lot for us, since he did risk losing his home for helping us escape from Abner. But lately, I’ve seen Akia act a little different when she’s around with him, too. I’m pretty sure she has a thing for him because I caught her once looking at him while he was shirtless. But once she saw I was looking, she started blushing hard red. I just chuckled,” Ethan said, making Alex chuckle at this funny story.
“Well, that’s a surprise. It sounds like Akia really likes him. I mean, the guy really likes to keep to himself. But I can tell he has gone through a lot like most of us did. Does Elijah know about Akia checking out Max?” Alex said as they both finally approached Matthew and Milo.
“No, he doesn’t, but don’t tell that to Elijah. I promised her it was a secret between the two of us, well three, now that you know about it,” Ethan said, giving him a wink towards Alex.
“Hehe hey I also have Akia’s back. I am no snitch, so lips sealed,” Alex said, making a zipped gesture across his lips, making Ethan chuckle.
“I think we should get going before we lose any more daylight. Wait, Alex, do you know if Terra you know ever talks about me from behind my back? Because I also feel that she would always look at me when I’m not looking. But I have a feeling she also has a thing for me too,” Ethan said as Alex arched an eyebrow towards him, not having a clue on how to respond to his question.
“Really Ethan, why are you asking me this? Wait, don’t tell me you also have a thing for Terra, don’t you? Man, why suddenly we’re talking about you having a thing for Terra and Akia has a thing for Max? Geez, you guys are weird,” Alex said as he got up on top of the horse while Milo and Matthew overheard this.
“Damn Ethan, I bet some time later you want maybe ask about how she is in bed or whatever. Take it easy, big man,” Milo said jokingly, making Matthew and Alex laugh in unison.
Ethan just felt his face turn red, trying his best to not look like an idiot between the three.
“Ok guys, you can shut the fuck up about it, but don’t you dare tell this to Terra or I’ll kill you,” Ethan said, pointing a finger to both Milo and Alex, which they just looked back at each other.
“We won’t alright but we should get a move on. Matthew, you lead the way,” Milo said as he also got on top of his horse as Matthew followed along.
“Alright boys let’s go,” he said as he then made the horse walk out of the stables, as Milo, Ethan, and Alex followed behind.
“Just be close to me no matter what alright Alex,” Ethan said as he looked back at the young boy as he wrapped a silk scarf around his head.
“I got it Ethan. I’m not deaf. Don’t need to hear you the first time," Alex said as they all followed in a single file line.
As they approached the front entrance of the town, two men then pushed open the gates as Matthew and the rest passed by them. As they finally made it to the outside of the town, the gates were then closed behind them, while Alex then looked back at the gates. While he felt nervous and yet excited to be out of town, wanting to see and explore anything that was ahead of them.
“Hey Alex, are you good back there?” Ethan asked as the boy then just turned his gaze forward.
“Yes, I’m good thanks,” Alex replied as he then hold on tightly on the reins, still feeling uneasy about this whole scout.
I hope we don’t get into trouble or die…

The Training Hall
Bullet after bullet, Akia grew and became more frustrated every time she missed her target practices. It has been over a month since she started taking shooting lessons. She had never once before in her life used a gun, even before the entire world went into destruction. Akia was never a fan of violence of any kind, but since this is the new world filled with lunatics and danger. It was mostly a necessity to kill anyone who would stand in her way, even if it makes her sick to her stomach.
While the others were getting the hang of aiming and balancing their guns, Akia was still struggling to keep up with the others. In her mind, she just wanted to give up and call it quits, knowing that this was all a waste of time.
“Alright that’s enough for today everyone, we will continue again tomorrow morning as always,” said Cornell, one of the best head trainers and Matthew’s right-hand man.
As everyone lowered their guns down, Akia, however, just looked back at her practice target, seeing no bullet holes anywhere on site. Max saw this while everyone else made their way out to put back their guns in one of the storage vaults. Akia was the only one left behind while letting out a small sigh under her breath. She looked down at the gun she was holding, feeling a bit enraged knowing that she just wasn’t fit to shoot a lethal weapon. Akia made her way to sit on one of the large black cases; as she placed the gun beside her. As Akia then placed her elbows on top of her thighs as she covered her face with her hands.
“I’ll see you tomorrow morning Max, what’s up with her?” Cornell said as he nodded his head towards Akia.
Max really said nothing for a moment, while everyone else then made their way out of the training hall.
“All I can say is that she is not a bad shooter. She just needs a bit more practice and patience. I think you are the right person to teach her better than me. I can see that look in your eye, Max. Go on, go up to her. I’ll leave you two alone, yeah?” Cornell said, giving Max a small smirk and a nudge on his right arm.
Max just grunted in reply at Cornell’s suggestion, not liking where this was going at all. Ever since the day he stayed in Zinnia Town, he kept his distance away from Akia for a while. But once in a while, when he and Akia would stumble upon each other, they would become shy and uncomfortable. Max wouldn’t say much but say ‘sorry’ or grunt in reply and just quickly walk away from her. Akia thought sometime later to make small talk with him whenever they both were alone sometimes. Every time she tried to say or make something up, he would just stay silent or say a few words here and there. Max, however, then just accepted her company little by little, and now he became a bit more social with her than before.
“Well,  I’m heading out now so see you then, Max, and don’t get too crazy in here if you know why I mean?” Cornell said, giving Max a quick wink as he tossed the key at him.
Max just ignored the trainer’s idiotic gesture as he placed the key inside his jean pocket.
“Alright then, good night Max,” Cornell called out as he walked his way out, and the hall became silent.
Akia still had her hands against her face, thinking about nothing in particular. Max was nervous to walk up to her, thinking that he should just give her some time alone. Before Max could think that thought twice, Akia quickly got up on her feet. Without wasting a second, she then frustratingly picked up a new magazine and attached it up to the gun. As she heard the click, she aimed it directly at the target in front of her, missing every mark. While firing one bullet after the other, she became more and more furious. Once the gun was empty, Akia threw the gun to the side. Kicking a black cask with her right foot as she let out an echoey, loud grunt. Max didn’t seem to flinch for a bit as he continued to watch over the aggravated woman.
“Fucking hell,... I’m fucking done with all of this,” Akia said as she sat down against the black storage case, leaning her head back on the wall.
It was quiet for a moment or so until Max finally found the courage to walk up to Akia. As he sat next to another large storage case, he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his thighs. Max didn’t know what to say for a while as the silence between the two continued, as he then fiddled with his hands together. After what felt like an eternity later, Max then spoke up first while Akia was facing the other way.
“You alright?” Max said, knowing that it was all that he could say at the moment, sounding stupid.
Akia just let out a small chuckle, not knowing if she was really ‘alright’ or not.
“What do you think, after shooting the shit out of that gun and not getting a single target? Yea, I’m so perfectly fucking great. Thanks for asking,” Akia said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms together against her chest.
Max just nodded his head at what she said, not expecting such an aggressive response. Akia then looked back at the target practice, still feeling dissatisfied with how bad her aiming is. He tried his best to find the right words to say next, but at that point, Max was out of words to say something better.
“I was like you once when I was probably about Alex’s age. I used to be in the force patrol before all this happened. All of this really is nothing new to me. I really wanted to join in since it was one of my careers that I’d dreamt about since I was a kid. Chasing down criminals, being the good cop, following orders, and being told to kill when it was necessary. It made me feel nervous at first, knowing that I had to shoot whenever it became serious. And now anybody that gets close to you or tries to kill you, you gotta shoot them back without holding back a grudge. I also felt agitated that I didn’t get a single shot of anything when I trained. But after some time and patience, I found my aim, and it felt great after getting out in the field,” Max said as he looked in Akia’s direction as she stared at the practice target.
“You seem to be better at pushing yourself to strive for something you really want. I, however, just give up easily and my fear always gets the best of me. Really wish I wasn’t this scared and a weakling,” Akia said as she locked eyes with Max, losing herself in those bright blue eyes.
“You’re not a weakling, you just have to overcome that fear inside of you. I know you have a spark inside, but you yourself are the one who has to turn that little spark into a booming fire. Because I can see through your eyes that you want to be brave, and you are. Just need that little push that something or someone needs to press on. Do you… do you want to shoot some more? I can help you if you want to?” Max said as he looked down at his hands, feeling uneasy about what he just asked her.
“Are you sure? I mean we’re the only ones in here, but if you got nothing else to do then sure,” Akia said as she straightened up herself a bit, while she tied her hair up in a low bun.
Max just nodded his head in reply, as he got up on his feet and walked his way to pick up the gun that Akia threw earlier. As Akia got to her feet, Max then gave back the gun to her as he made his way to the weapon vault. He then a moment later, came back with more magazines and a different gun that Max thought would suit better for Akia. And as he attached one magazine to the new gun, Max then began his lessons with Akia.
“Alright, remember how I showed you how to hold the gun against the grip with your hands?” Max asked to which Akia said ‘yes’ as she listened carefully to him.
“Good, now see how I’m holding and aiming the gun,” Max said as he raised the weapon in front of him, as Akia followed his every single move.
“You always want to relax your arms first before you pull the trigger. And once you feel that your aim is balanced out, then you release your bullets. Before we let’s work a bit more on your grip,” Max continued on as Akia then took the new gun in her hands getting comfortable with the new grip.
As she adjusted her hands a bit more and hunched her shoulders a bit, Max then stood a bit behind her. While seeing Akia’s uneven balance, Max, without hesitation, placed one hand on top of her left hip. And with his other hand, placed it underneath her elbow while Akia felt goosebumps throughout her body. Trying her best to focus as much as she can, she suddenly could feel Max’s muscular chest against her body. Not wanting to say anything or act like a fool, she concentrated her eyes straight ahead. But before long, Max’s short rough beard brushed gently against her soft left cheek. Making Akia look back as both of their lips were dangerously close together. She could feel his hot breath against her lips, not knowing if this was the right thing to do or let her mouth sink towards his. Max was completely panicking from the inside, not knowing what to do or politely push Akia away from him.
And before they knew it, Akia then slowly tilted her head as she slowly and nervously closed the gap. Consuming every inch of Max’s smooth lips, Max’s eyes open wide at this feeling. But as he savored her sweet lips against his own, he then returned the favor, as his eyes now were softly closed. As the kiss became a bit more lustful and warmer, Akia let the gun go as she wrapped her arms around his neck. While she gently caressed his short brown locks, Max then wrapped his hands around her small waist. As a little moan escaped from Akia’s mouth, Max suddenly heard the voices that haunted his mind. But one female voice stood out and called to him the most, while he tensely kissed Akia on the side of her neck.
Max… Max, what are you doing??? Don’t you love me anymore???
As both Max and Akia continued to kiss each other more erotically than before, he then pinned her back against the wall. Akia then bit her bottom lips as she stared back seductively into Max’s eyes. And in a quick, swift, she then wrapped her legs around his waist while her arms were still around his neck. Max then placed his hands underneath her firm ass while adjusting between each other’s arms. As he then took her lips again over his, he then heard that same female voice.
Stop it, Max!!! I thought you were better than this…
Without warning, Max then violently wrapped his hands against her throat, her eyes grew wide at this sudden movement. As Max continued to grip her harder, Akia tried her best to shove him away forcefully. But with every breath she choked out, she couldn’t possibly find the strength to do so.
Kill her Max… kill her for me… for us…
Not long after, Max suddenly regained his sanity back, as he let go of Akia’s neck as she now coughed out for air. Max was panting as he looked down at his hands, not realizing what he had just done to Akia. Once her coughing eased a bit, she shook uncontrollably while she massaged her neck with her hand.
“What… what the fuck was that all about with you?” Akia said in a shaky voice, feeling tears up against her eyes.
Max didn’t know how to answer that question, feeling lost, frightening and confused about this entire ordeal. He then looked back at Akia, seeing that she was as scared and disoriented as he was. Once his breathing became more at ease, he slowly walked his way up to Akia. But she then quickly leans back away from him, fearing that Max might hurt her again.
“Get the hell away from me!!! What was all of that about? You almost got me killed. I got to go,” Akia said, making her way out of the training hall, but Max held her by her right hand.
“Akia, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me, really. It’s just… it’s hard to explain what goes on in my head,” Max said as Akia removed her hand away from his grip.
Akia said nothing to this, so staying no longer, she made her way out of the hall. Max was left all alone in the room, only but silence consumed the air. He then picked up the gun that Akia held onto a while ago, feeling ashamed for what he had done to her.
Our souls will always be together Max… no matter where you go, I’ll always be there with you…
Max heard that female voice again, while his hand clenched the gun, feeling more anger inside of him.
“Get out of my head Jessie,” Max said out loud, as he tried his best to ignore her.
As both Jessie’s and the other voices became louder and louder inside his mind, he then closed his eyes tighter. Feeling like his head was about to explode at any moment, but suddenly his eyes opened wide, and couldn’t believe what he saw next. He knows it was all in his head and a delusion, but it felt real to him. Standing in front of him was Jessie, while carrying his only infant son in her arms.
What’s wrong Max??? Don’t you remember us???
Max didn’t hold back a second, for he then aimed the gun towards the practice target and shot out the bullets. He then without care went a bit out of his mind, and once he heard the clicking sound of the gun. He then looked back at where Jessie and his son were standing, but she was not there anymore. Max just let out a loud heavy sigh, and in a swift move, he then punched the wall with a hard punch. Felt some blood dripping from his knuckles, not caring whether the pain hurt him. He breathed heavily through his nostrils as he then gently rested his forehead against the rocky wall. Sometime later, though, he then relaxed his now bloody hand, as he then took the two guns and magazines in his hands. And as he put everything back in the vault, he then locked everything up.
As he finally made it out of the hall, Max then made his way towards nowhere in particular. The burning sun was beaming down upon the town, while Max just continued to walk along without a care. He still couldn’t get that image of Akia out of his head, seeing those bright glowing amber eyes of hers turn into fright. Max just felt guilty and shameful for what he did to her, knowing that it wasn’t his intention to do something so harsh. Especially with women, never in his life if he can still remember his previous life. Laid a single hand on a girl and when Jessie was still around, he had nothing but respect towards women. He always kept telling himself that girls are to be treated like a fragile and careful bird. And something to protect and keep anyone else from wanting to hurt them or kill them. Max, however, had a different perspective now after what had just happened, and it made him question his insanity.
He then went back to his tent, just wanting to be away from everyone, and left alone. As he made his way towards where the tents were located but up ahead of him, though, he saw Akia again. Max didn’t know what to do at that moment but he did, though, walked the other way around. Akia, however, didn’t notice his presence, for she was busy experimenting with some children of Zinnia Town. As she was playing tag with the kids, they were then laughing along as they tried to run away from Akia. While she herself was enjoying the moment, feeling like it was the old times then where they were right now. Max, however, stood around and watched her from afar, feeling a little smirk forming on his lips. As Akia then playfully caught one kid in her arms, the child then screamed gleefully while giggling in between. Akia laughed along as the other child hugged her from behind as the three then stumbled to the ground. As the trio then sat on the dirt ground, Max couldn’t help but see how wonderful and beautiful she was. He hated how he is letting himself feel something for her even after that kiss they both shared with each other. However, deep inside his heart, he grew a fondness towards Akia, and most of all he felt that sense of love again. Knowing that he hasn’t been in a relationship since Jessie was taken away from him, he never thought of ever finding anyone ever again. He thought it was best for him to be alone and also his heart became hard as stone. But ever since Akia and her family came along, and of course the time that he helped Furiosa and The Five Wives. He got his sense of humanity back, but this time, though, it had become more alive because of Akia.
While he was continuing to be distracted by how Akia with the kids, she then along with the kids made their way to the dining hall. She, however, felt like someone was looking at her from beyond her back. While she walked a little slower this time, she had the urge to look back behind her. And to no surprise, she caught sight of Max looking straight at her, both of their eyes locking once again. Akia though quickly turned away from his gaze, as she tried to keep herself in place. Max just let out a small sigh, not knowing if he should go after Akia or not. But a moment later, he finally decided to just make his way to his tent. Not wanting to bother her anymore, and just wanting to leave her in peace.
Why bother, for I am a big mess and I won’t be good for her in the end…

Oh Shit New MM:FR Stories and A03 Account
Hey folks! I completely forgot that I forgot to share my new A03 account to ya’ll, considering this is my newest Tumblr account and thusly some new friends might be interested in that information.
https://archiveofourown.org/users/ComeGuessMeThisRiddle
Currently I have two Mad Max: Fury Road related one-shots up. ‘Gifts from The Pit’ was a gift for @monsterbrush about my sweet baby boy Pit’s adoption. Meanwhile the newest of the two stories, ‘Painted with Petrol’, is an insight into @burn-your-face-upon-the-chrome‘s character Grunts. This one includes some raunchiness if that is your thing.
Please enjoy if MM:FR related content is your thing!

"She's mine," Max snarled. His eyes were fixed on Furiosa, and for a moment the former Imperator bristled because as much as she trusted Max, she belonged to no man. But then something cried out from the footwell of the passenger seat she stood beside, and Furiosa realized that he wasn’t talking about her. Yanking open the door of his battered vehicle revealed a bundle of rags with a tiny face peeking out. Max returns to the Citadel with a baby.

Steve’s No Good, Very Bad Day
This is something a little different from what I usually do so I hope you guys like it! Please leave your thoughts and title ideas in the comments!
~*~*~*~
Steve was just wrapping up at work one day, getting ready to run some errands when the kids stampeded through the door. He hardly even had time to sigh before Dustin was trying to negotiate for him to give them a ride to the community pool.
“Steve, it’s eighty four degrees outside right now and the community pool is a mile away. If we bike there in these conditions, we could get heat stroke and die. What kind of friend would you be if you let us die when you could’ve prevented it? Since we all know you’re my best friend, you should give us a ride.”
“Dude, no. I have errands to run and I’m really not in the mood to babysit,” Steve said, shaking his head. He had better things to do than drive them around town all day. Like buying himself groceries and toilet paper, interesting stuff.
“Please, Steve? We’re counting on you! Just give us a ride and we’ll leave you alone for the rest of the weekend!” Lucas bartered.
“I’m hosting DnD at my house tomorrow,” Steve said, completely deadpan.
“And we’ll leave you alone until then!” Dustin jumped in. “Please?”
“Son of a bitch, fine! Go wait by my car. Jesus Christ, you’re truly annoying. You know that, right?”
“Thanks Steve!” Dustin called and ran to wait by his car.
Steve just sighed and shook his head. He didn’t sign up for this. He loves those kids but goddamn, he just wanted one day to himself after working customer service and faking smiles all morning. Nevertheless, he climbed into his car and cranked the AC before heading towards the pool.
“So where’s Will, Max, and El? Are you guys hanging out with them today too?”
“Of course we are,” Dustin answered snootily. “They’re our friends.”
“They’re meeting us at the pool,” Lucas added.
“Well, thank you Lucas for answering my question,” he turned to look at Dustin in the passenger seat. “You need to lose the ‘tude, Henderson. I’m doing you shitheads a favor. Tone it down.”
“Sorry,” Dustin muttered.
They traveled the rest of the way in silence with only the soft tones of Simon and Garfunkel playing softly through the radio. When they turned into the pool’s parking lot, something felt off. Steve couldn’t put his finger on it. Nothing looked out of the blue but something was wrong, he was certain.
“Stay in the car, I’ll be right back.” He opened his door and Henderson opened his as well. “Dustin, please. Just stay in the car for a minute.”
“Wha- but…”
“Dustin!” He gave him a confused look but shut the door regardless.
Steve saw Max, Will, and El rounding the corner and ran up to them. They looked fine too but something still felt off. His stomach was twisting in warning and he didn’t know why.
“Hey guys-”
“Steve? I didn’t know you’d be coming. We could’ve used the ride,” Max snarked.
“Listen, something feels off. Get in my car,” Steve told them. His heart started beating faster and he could feel sweat dripping on his forehead. His adrenaline was going crazy and he didn’t know why.
“Steve, there isn’t enough room. We won’t fit-” Will tried to explain but he was cut off by the sound of gunfire. El threw up her hands to telekinetically redirect the bullets and Steve tackled Max and El to the ground.
He lightly smacked his head on the cement but he picked himself up soon enough. When he looked around the parking lot, there were dozens of government agents facing El with their guns drawn.
“Eleven. We are with a secret department of the United States government. If you come with us peacefully, we’ll let your friends live.” As the woman in charge was talking, Steve noticed a man standing behind El raise his gun to her head.
“El!” He jumped up from the ground the pushed her away from the path of the gun as it fired. He felt a sharp, searing pain in his shoulder and then he was back on the ground.
“Steve!” She looked over at him but he just shook his head with his teeth clenched.
“Kill them!” He felt bad about ordering a kid to kill the fifteen agents, not for them but for her. She didn’t deserve to carry their deaths on her conscience. But as he saw all of their necks snap in unison, he couldn’t help but feel a little relieved.
All of the kids surrounded him worriedly. The boys looked slightly nauseous while Max and El were looking at his shoulder in concern.
“Steve? Are you okay, buddy? I’m pretty sure you got shot.” Dustin told him gently, just as he had in Billy’s Camaro all those years ago.
“El… you okay?” Steve asked her quietly. It was getting harder for him to speak. It felt like there was a fog over him that was pulling him under.
“Of course I am okay, Steve. You were the one that was shot,” she told him matter-of-factly.
“Hmm, yeah makes sense. Fucking... figures,” and then he lost consciousness.
~*~*~*~
When he woke up, it was to a bland hospital room. His head ached, his shoulder throbbed, and his throat was dry. As annoyed as he was with the situation, Steve was glad that he had been there for the kids. Who knew what would’ve happened if he hadn’t gotten there when he did. Would El have that man’s bullet in her head? Would Max and Will be dead due to a slew of bullets? He’s glad he would never have to find out.
He was so lost in his thoughts of what could have happened that he didn’t notice Hopper stepping in until he spoke.
“What the hell were you thinking?” Hopper hissed angrily.
“What do you mean?” Steve asked in confusion. It almost seemed like Hopper was mad at him but he was pretty positive that he had no reason to be.
“Why the hell were you taking the kids to the pool? You know that people are after her and you just took her out into the open? How could you do something so stupid?!”
Steve’s entire body flinched at his comment. “Hop, the kids were going anyway. The only reason I was there was to give Dustin, Lucas, and Mike a ride. The other kids were meeting them there. I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“You’re the adult, Harrington! You should’ve told them no and then none of us would be in this situation!”
“Hop, I’m sorry. Next time I’ll be more careful. I know it must’ve been scary to see your kids like that…”
“You’re not my son!” He screamed at him in fury.
Steve’s blood turned cold. “Wh-what?”
“El is my daughter and your actions almost got her killed! And you put all the other kids in danger too. I don’t know if Joyce and I can forgive you for this, Harrington.”
Hopper shook his head derisively one last time and stalked out of the hospital room. Steve just laid there in shock. He didn’t know why Hopper was so mad at him or why he decided that Steve wasn’t worth any effort anymore. He didn’t know why he always pushed away his parental figures but this was three people now that he managed to disappoint so it had to be an issue with him. All he could do was close his eyes and cry at the unfairness of it all.
~*~*~*~
Between visits from Eddie and Robin, Steve was alone. The kids were banned from seeing him due to what Hopper had coined ‘reckless endangerment’ and it wasn’t like he had anyone else interested in visiting him. So it was a surprise when a chastened Hopper entered his room.
“Hey kid, how are you doing?” He asked him softly.
Steve just stared at him. He wasn’t sure where he and Hop stood after he screamed at him just a few days prior.
“Look Steve, I want to apologize. I uh, I didn’t have all of the information and I blamed you when it wasn’t your fault. I know now that you were there to protect the kids and you did a great job other than getting shot and getting another concussion. I’m sorry.”
“I meant Will. When I said you were worried about your kids. I meant Will and El. I know you don’t consider me your son, why would you? Literally no one wants to be my parent so I get it-”
“Steve, I do consider you my kid. I shouldn’t have said that and I only did out of anger. You didn’t deserve that and I’ll make it up to you. You’re going to move into the house with us until you get better,” he promised him.
Steve just shook his head though, “don’t worry about it. Eddie is going to stay at my house until I can use my arm. You don’t have to worry about it.”
“Harrington, I don’t care if I have to kidnap your sorry ass. You’re staying with me, Joyce, and the kids until you’re better.”
“This is part of your apology, threats of kidnapping? What the fuck, Hop?” Steve exclaimed, absolutely perplexed.
“Yeah, did it work?”
Steve huffed, “get me some orange Jello and I’ll consider it.”
They had a ways to go until they were back to where they were but they’d get there. Steve would forgive him in time and Hopper would forgive himself eventually too.

This thing has teeth - Slit/Nux
Slit roars, scars bunching on his cheeks, eyes wild and wide and absolutely terrifying. His opponent shrinks back, blood spraying as Slit follows viciously. Nux throws his arms up, shouts Slit’s glory, sloshing beer over himself and the men pressed tight around him. No one complains, all caught in the spell that Slit has bound them under. A body thuds on the hard floor of the cage and Slit howls like an animal, beating his own chest twice with a bloody fist. The referee gapes by the cage, microphone limp in his hand, blood sprayed on his cheek. Slit kicks the body on the floor with the toe of his boot, the man rolls over, weakly trying to push at Slit’s leg. Begging for mercy. Nux pushes through the crowd, presses himself against the cage and bangs his hands against the metal bars. His head. “We have a winner,” roars the referee finally into his microphone and the crowd somehow, impossibly becomes even louder. Slit clambers out of the top of the cage, stands on the metal bars and the crowd chants his name. Nux loses himself in the chants, sways, body thrashing against the cage, eyes glued to Slit. Slit’s head whips around, sweat and blood flying, eyes meeting Nux’s straight on. The world comes to a screeching halt, breath stuck in Nux's throat. Slit points at him, roars and laughs and Nux points back, skin pulling tight over his skeleton, shivers down his spine. He wants that blood on his lips.

Darkness had imprisoned you, keeping you held by its icy grip; surrounding you with nothing but the memories of your own making, the monster of your own design.
Losing Max was the worst thing that had happened to you, and now you were stranded. You kept thinking over the events, over what had happened. Time was standing still, you had all of eternity to dream of the same thing over and over again.
Sleep was not easy to grasp. Laid down with your back against the sandy ground of your cage, staring up at the bleak dark blue skies; whispering Max’s name over and over, quietly calling out for him knowing that he would not return.
You were all alone, now. You wished you could see him just one last time, just to tell him that you were sorry; he had given his life for you, he shouldn’t have. You never should have let him make that sacrifice.
You felt sick, bile rising up from your stomach and leaving a burning trail all the way to the back of your throat; you wanted to lie on your side as your stomach churned and dropped. The front of your head was stinging with sharp pain, and you wanted it all to end more than anything.
If you didn't have Max, you had nothing. Absolutely nothing. If Max was not with you, beside you, then nothing could keep you living. Fuck.
You closed your eyes, your head violently spinning and forcing you to open them again. The stinging resumed. You sighed heavily, bringing your knees to your chest and weeping softly. Weeping until the stinging got worse and turned to a pounding sensation.
Throbbing.
You sighed, resigning yourself to your fate and watching as the small insects and arachnids scuttled across the sands; you couldn't cry anymore. You were too weak. You couldn't whisper and call out for Max. Your voice would not work.
All you could do was lie there, until you could see a figure slowly approaching; marching towards you. You couldn't bring yourself to stand up or even sit up. You just wanted to die.
Without Max, you just wanted to die. You hoped the figure would be armed, and would sink a knife into your throat the moment they were close enough.
But as you looked at the boots, you could see something far, far too familiar; you had seen them at the end of your bed. Tripped over them in the middle of the night several times. Thrown them aside when lying in the backseat of a truck.
You knew who they belonged to.
"I'm sorry."
You squeezed your eyes tightly shut, shaking your head and trying to bury yourself in the sand. "No, no, no, no, this can't be - you're supposed to be dead. You died!"
Max laid down on his stomach beside you, pushing his bottom lip out as he grumbled and wriggled closer. "Not dead. Not yet."
You shook your head again, not wanting to believe that he was real; it was so cruel for your own mind to play such a trick on you. Make you think that he was still around, that he had survived. No.
He couldn't be. You watched him fucking die. He couldn't be alive. Even though his face was covered in blood and charcoal rested upon his cheeks, even though his hands were bruised and covered in calluses. Even though he reeked of gunpowder and smoke.
No, he couldn't be alive. No.
It was just a cruel trick from your own mind. It couldn't be anything else. You squeezed your knees, wishing the vision of Max would go away. That it would cease haunting you so terribly, reminding you of what you had lost.
Reminding you that you no longer had a heart.
Max nudged you, pushing your knees down and squirming into the space next to you as he swallowed thickly; he smelled so strongly of gunpowder and smoke that, for a moment, you thought he was actually there.
He pushed the back of his head against your jaw, closing his eyes as he sighed and closed his eyes. He was fucking exhausted.
His wounds had been patched up, and he had stopped bleeding, but he was exhausted from it; the only thing on his mind had been getting back to you, finding you again. He pressed himself firmly against you, grumbling under his breath as he stretched out and found himself able to relax at last.
He could sleep. Max knew you well enough to know that once he stayed around for a while, you would accept the fact that he had cheated death, and would find solace in him being so close; your heart had returned to you, he knew that.
Even though he knew you couldn't see it, Max smiled as he let the exhaustion take over; deep, heavy breaths turning soft and shallow as his muscles went limp and he relaxed into the way you threw your arm over him, clinging onto the back of his jacket as if it were the only thing keeping you tethered to the earth.
You were starting to think he was actually there, that he wasn't gone for good as you felt his hair tickle the underside of your neck, soft and warm brown strands brushing against sensitive flesh. You could feel his breathing, the way that it was ever so slightly uneven.
Max's breathing was always slightly uneven. His body was pressed so firmly to yours, you wanted to believe that he was really there, that he had not gone anywhere at all.
Max lazily opened one eye when he felt you snuggle into him. "I always come back."
You smiled, for the first time since you had come up with your foolish plan that had nearly gotten him killed, you actually smiled; your heart had been returned to you, at last, and you could rest easy knowing that Max was there.
You threw your leg over him, almost wrapped around him as you sighed. "We're really gonna sleep in the sand, huh?"
Max grumbled. There were worse places to fall asleep.

"Max, I'm here," Eleven whispered again, her thumb gently caressing the girl's hand. "I'm so sorry for leaving after what happened at the mall. I shouldn't have left you behind, but I had no choice. Joyce couldn't bear to stay here after everything that happened, and I-" She shook her head. "I should have written to you more often, I'm sorry." She squeezed Max's hand gently.
"I think— I just didn't want you to think that I— I didn't want to lie to you like I did to Mike, saying that Angela was my friend and everything was okay." Eleven felt tears burning in her eyes but didn't mind letting them roll down. "I didn't know things were so bad for you, Max, I'm sorry."
Sobs and tears broke through Eleven's body with the same intensity as the day Max died, and she allowed herself to cry, holding onto her friend's hand tightly until she calmed down.
This is just a snippet of something I'm working on

2 Days Later: Somewhere in The Wastelands
It had been over two days since Max helped Akia and her family get farther away from the area of Red Hill Town. What made everyone feel more nervous was that there were no signs of Abner’s whereabouts after they had left Max’s hideout. However, it made everyone feel somewhat relieved that they lost sight of him. At least, mostly, they still know that Abner will still follow them, no matter how far they drive into the endless empty orange desert. Akia’s group has gotten along well with Max except for Elijah ever since the incident that happened to them on the first day. He still felt unsure about Max for one bit not since for what he did to Akia. And from that day, he became more overly protective of her and he had been by her side whenever they would stop to take a quick break.
While Ethan helped Max fill up the vehicle on the second day, Akia and Alex wandered off towards what looked like another curious-looking canyon. But this time, they didn’t go as far away as Akia did before finding Max and his hideout. She knew already that if she got deeper inside the large rocks, she might encounter some other crazy person who could be more dangerous than Max. While Akia and Alex were busy climbing and jumping off of big rock boulders, Akia then threw some small rock pedals here and there, but then in front of her, she caught sight of what looked like a small group of kangaroos. One of them what she can tell was probably a female and while another one looked to be a male. And the others were probably their babies, some were fully grown adults while the others were still babies. She and Alex tiptoed closer to them, hoping they didn’t scare them off. Alex saw this and made his way next to Akia.
“Alex, be quiet. Let’s try not to scare them off,” Akia whispered. Alex nodded his head in response.
As they both got closer and closer to the small pack, one of the baby kangaroos noticed them, but the creature itself got curious as well. Akia and Alex stopped for a moment or so, but the baby then hopped its way towards their direction. Akia now with a stretched-out hand, the little creature slowly and steadily sniffing her hand. And for a moment or so, the baby then placed its small head against her hand, making Akia gasp and smile at Alex, which he then petted the little fur ball.
“She is such a beautiful thing, isn’t she Akia? I’ve never in my life ever thought of petting a kangaroo this close,” Alex said, while they both now sat on their knees, giving more pets here and there to the little one.
“Me either Alex. I thought kangaroos have been long gone after The Fall but I guess I was wrong,” Akia said as she was scratching behind the baby’s ears.
While they spend a pleasant moment or so with the small kangaroo, Max witnesses the sight as he made his way behind the truck. At that moment, he had a flashback of himself and his wife Jessie, from whatever was left of his memories of his old life. He remembered the time he went to the zoo with her, and they would see many exotic animals and they got also the chance to feed some giraffes. She as well was pregnant with his first and only child he will ever be able to hold for a short time. Jessie would have that wonderful and gracious smile Max would always melt so much that he felt so lucky to have a woman like her in his life. Just looking at the way Akia smiled made Max see his wife again and how he sometimes wished he could go back in time and hug Jessie once more. But that was such an impossible thought, Max knew it will never come true. He also noticed something about Akia that made him feel something deep inside of his soul that he hadn’t felt in so long until now. He found Akia to be an exquisite and attractive woman. In the long run, he never and it was rare for Max to have these feelings again towards anybody, not since he lost Jessie. He always kept to himself and also deep down the felt afraid to open up his heart again to anyone again, especially women. He, mostly, has been alone, but ever since he met and helped Furiosa and The Five Wives, he gained back some of his feelings again. But love was the only thing that made him feel uneasy and scared to fall in love all over again.
“Hey Max, you alright? We should hit the road we don’t want to lose anymore time,” Ethan said while closing the double doors of the truck, making Max come back to reality.
Max then just grunted while nodding his head in reply, while he then made his way to the front of the truck.
“Akia, Alex, let’s get a move on, we’re leaving now,” yelled out Terra while Akia and Alex petted the little kangaroo for one last time.
“I’m sorry, little one, but we must go. Goodbye little baby,” Akia said as she stood up on her feet as Alex did so the same.
As Alex and Akia walked their way back to the truck, Akia looked back at the little herd of kangaroos watching them hop their way in the other direction they came from. This made Akia think about her family again, wishing that they would be here with them in person. She could only pray that her little brother somehow is still alive out there. Hopefully, he didn’t get caught in The Fall. But she really didn’t still want to accept the fact that he might have been long dead since the day they both got into that fight.
“Hey, umm,… we should get going, everyone is waiting for you,” Max said making Akia turned around facing him now.
“Oh yes, I... I’m sorry, just me and Alex got sidetracked. It’s just... it’s been a long time not seeing normal animals around these parts, not sense we got taken as prisoners,” Akia said which Max grunted in reply understanding what she meant.
“I know what you mean. Believe me, it’s really rare to not see animals from the old world. That was actually the first time in a while seeing kangaroos around here.”
“Oh really? Since when was the last time you saw them?” Akia asked which Max just looked away from Akia’s eyes, which made him remember Jessie again.
“I,... I can’t really remem-”
“Akia, what are you waiting for? We need to keep fucking moving. We don’t know if that crazy bastard could anywhere around here,” Elijah said, making both Akia and Max look in his direction.
“I know Elijah. Sorry, we’ll be right there.”
“No, it’s right now. Come on, please,” Elijah said, gently grabbing her by the left arm. As they walked their way back to the truck, Elijah gave a quick death stare back to Max.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Max tried his best to keep a long distance away from Akia, not wanting anybody to grow suspicious about the two talking to each other. Knowing that Elijah specifically, will be furious and would might want to beat the crap out of Max if he ever laid a hand on her. But every time he tried to do so, she would be the first person to come up to him, trying to have at least a small conversation with him. When she tried to talk to him on the first night, when they stayed somewhere hidden and out of the road. Max would ignore her presence and would make his way inside the truck, avoiding her at all costs. Akia though found this annoying for which she really wanted to get to this man better, but she as well knows that her family and, of course, Elijah. Wouldn’t want to see her talk with him alone, because some still didn’t trust Max being around with her.
As it was getting close to nighttime now, Ethan has been driving for what felt like another 4 hours, hoping Zinnia Town was not too far away from where they were. Max said they are at least now a day away from here, which while on the desert rode, on the corner of his right eye, he saw what looked to be a deserted little town. Which he has never remembered seeing this town before when he passed by here a while back. Ethan as well noticed this, which he then suggested that they should rest there for the night.
“We should try to rest here, but once the sun is up first thing in the morning, we will leave immediately,” Ethan said, which Max wasn’t so sure about staying there for the night.
Before Max could say anything, Ethan then made a right turned towards the lonely town, which when they got closer they were surprised to see how some of the few buildings were still up but damaged since The Fall. A tall metal windmill still functioned but had a creaky sound whenever the wind blew through it. It was as if the town came out of an old western movie but in a modern way and yet it had a creepy feeling about it. As Ethan slowed the vehicle to a complete stop, he turned off the engine, both him and Max were unsure if they should be there.
“Alright, everyone, listen up. We are going to stay here for tonight. Me and Max are going to check around the area first and once it is clear, we will call out for you, got it?” Ethan said as everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
“Wait, I’ll come along with you two. If you like, I’ll check the buildings on the left side while you check the others. I promise I’ll be careful,” Milo said as he loaded some bullets on a shotgun.
“I should come along with brother,” Noa said, but Milo just told him to stay put, and he did as he was told.
“Look, I think we should make a sense out of this but, we all should check. I think we all can agree with that, don’t you think Ethan?” Terra said, which everyone then gazes their eyes towards Ethan, including Max.
“Alright fine, Terra has a point, so now here’s the plan. Me, Max, Alex, and Terra will check on the left side of town, while the rest of you check on the right side. Once everything seems like the coast is clear, we all come back here, understood?” Ethan said while everyone said ‘yes’ in unison.
As everyone loaded some guns that they brought, Akia then armed herself with a small handkerchief, knife, and also black recurve crossbow with a couple of bolts that she took from Max’s hideout. Once she got out of the truck, she then saw Max loading what looked to be a Rugger gun. While he placed two more bullets inside the magazine, once he attached it back onto the gun, he then looked up at Akia. She then looked the other way.
Max, at that moment, wanted to say something to her, but again he avoided her no matter how badly. Deep down, he wanted to speak to her. As he got out of the truck while locking up the double doors, Akia then walked towards him, not regretting it for one bit.
“Max, hey, I... I was going to ask if you might show me how to use the gun you have there. I never handle one properly. I just maybe thought you might teach me if not. It’s alright,” Akia said and Max’s body tensed up a bit at what she just asked him.
All that Max could think and do about at that moment was walk away from Akia or even if he won’t like it could show her how to handle the gun. He just then looked over his left shoulder, as everyone else was busy getting their weapons ready. He then looked back at Akia, to which he then let out a small sigh and then took the gun out.
“Alright, come here,” he said as they both walked on the other side of the truck away from everyone else while Max continued to talk to Akia.
“See this right here? This is your magazine where the bullets go in. This right here in the middle. You slide this back when you are ready to pull the trigger. You place your hands here on the grip, one above the other, OK? Here you try it,” he said as he released the magazine out of the gun.
Akia then did everything that Max showed her, but had a hard time adjusting her hands on the grip of the gun. Max noticed for and, without saying a word, he then placed his hands above hers, making Akia feel goosebumps all over her body while blushing hard on her face. She could feel his rough, yet strong, hands on top of hers. She then could feel half of his body right next to her right side, again she felt so unsettled about how close he was to her.
“Now lift it straight up and point it up to that window you see there,” he said with a finger pointing straight ahead, which Akia did what she was told.
Once Max felt she could handle the gun with a little of the training he could give her, Akia handed the gun back to him, which he refused to take.
“No, take it. Just remember something, keep your head up, and. No matter who you encounter out there, and no matter if they look like they’re not good or bad news, don’t be afraid to shoot them, ok?” Max said as he finished putting the magazine back on the gun.
Akia then grabbed the grip of the gun as she nodded her head back to him.
“Watch yourself out there, and by the way, thank you,” she said, while putting the gun behind her back.
“Here, you can have my holster. You don’t mind if I buckle it for you?” Max asked which Akia felt shy but she insisted.
“No, not at all go for it.”
Max just grunted in reply as he wrapped the belt around her waist while Akia felt her face blush red. As Max reached the front of the material, he tried his best to not make eye contact with the woman in front of her. But they were so close to each other that they both can feel their bodies touching each other. As Max was finishing buttoning up the front of the belt, Akia then just looked up at his face and gave a small yet shy smile. Max just look away in a swift move, as he made his way back to the other group members feeling really awkward leaving Akia alone. She as well tried her best to not feel weirded out at what went on between the two. But once she got herself together for a moment, she then walked back with the others, pretending to not think about what happened a moment ago.
“Alright, we’re ready. Now everyone watches your backs out there. We’ll meet here again. Now let’s get a move on,” Ethan said, making his way to the building, which, from the looks of it, used to be a school.
Max then looked back at Akia, which she now followed along behind Elijah, worried that something bad might happen to her. Deep down in his gut, he felt he should go with her and at least keep her safe and monitor her. But, he didn’t want everyone to gro concerned about him and Akia. Which he then told himself that is not worth the risk and just shook that thought away from his mind and then followed his group.
Alex, Max, Terra, and Alex followed along, walking silently inside the building, which was silent. Only they could hear the creaking of wood underneath their feet. They then got deeper inside the building, noticing some familiar things from the old world while walking down a run-down hallway. There were rays of the now sundown sky above the damaged roof, and they took out some small dim flashlights that their batteries still worked. As everyone scattered around the building on their own, Max then entered inside one of the of rooms, which used to be a classroom. As he wandered around the dusted and dead area, he found many papers, books, and other materials everywhere on the floor. He then heard some voices and whispers inside of his head, which he then shut his eyes closed, trying to shrug the voices out.
"Max,..., Max, come on... you should leave this place, it is not safe.”
Max couldn’t control the many whispers and echoes coming through his head. But once he opened his eyes again, in front of him appeared Glory, who was sitting on a chair while dangling her legs back and forth. Max’s breathing became increasingly fast while the little girl echoed ‘get out’, making Max shut his eyes while covering his ears once, trying to ignore the ghost child from his mind. As everything became complete silence, Max then open his eyes slowly, and saw that the little girl was gone from the chair. As he then looked around inside the dusty room, he then made his way out of the room, startled at what just he encountered. Once he felt like himself again, he searched and walk down the hallway again, not realizing that outside of the empty town, there was a group lurking about waiting for the right moment to attack.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
On the other side of town, Akia, Elijah, Noa, and Milo walked past small buildings that used to look like warehouses, and also some burned and semi-damaged houses that still had some roofs attached to them. Akia couldn’t believe how these places were still standing after The Fall, knowing that era was not so long ago feeling like it happened yesterday. As she kept her pace up with the others, Milo and Noa entered one of the small houses that still showed some chipped colored on it, while Elijah and Akia made their way into a warehouse. Which, from the looks of the building, might have been used for butchering animals and on the side of it, must have been its own little store. As they made their way inside, many rotten tools welcomed them on the floor, the smell of expired oils, rotten flesh that made both Akia and Elijah cover their mouths and noses with their brown scarf around their necks. As they got deeper inside, they then walked apart from each other, while Akia then took out the gun that Max gave her gripping it with both of her hands. She noticed that some copper stairs led up to another floor of the building and she then walked towards them.
“Akia, don’t get far, I have a bad feeling about this really, something about creepy fucking place doesn’t feel right,” Elijah called out while he had his gun raised up ready to shoot and kill anything that would pop out.
“I will be alright, I have a bad feeling about all f this too,” Akia said as she strolled up the creaky stairs.
Once Akia made her way up the top of the stairs, there was nothing more but hooks with chains hanging above her head and rotten oils on the ground, and she then caught sight of clear white drapes covered in dry blood and mud. She slowly made her way towards it, not liking where this was going, and while she had her gun raised with one hand, she then extended her other arm towards the closed drapes. Once she got inside, she then was surprised to see in the middle of the area a lantern, a desk, rotten papers scattered on top, a machine cutter, and also disturbingly enough decapitated animal heads that you could imagine. Akia’s eyes grew wide while her breathing and heart increased, knowing that it was her sign to get the hell out of there. But little does she know that a mysterious person, with a black ruined suit, with a rope strap in hand, and on top of his head he was wearing a skinned-out pig’s head and using it as a mask.
As he slowly and quietly approached up behind her, the stranger than wrapped the material around her neck, making her drop the gun on the floor. She then choked out for air while she grab a hold of the strap with both of her hands. But without waiting another moment, she then stepped on the person’s right foot, making him squirm and groan out in pain. She then hit him in the stomach with her right elbow, making him release his grip around her neck. As the person recovered his balance again, he then took out a sharp knife and sliced in midair, while Akia dodged his every move. As she was finding an opportunity to take the knife away from the pig-headed person, she then grabbed his hand in midair, and placed a hard uppercut on the face, making him drop the knife, and in doing so she then him on the stomach, and fell to the floor. She then picked the gun up from the floor, but was then pinned down to the floor, as the pig man now twirled her around, now putting punches on her face. Akia groaned after every punch, but she then choked him while she looked back at the gun on her left side, while the pig man choked her once again. As she felt the strong grip hands, she then reached out for the gun and once she felt her hand, grab the grip of the gun, she then hit hard on the person’s face landing on his back, and without a second going by she then placed three bullets right into the face of the pig. As the echoes of the bullets faded in silence, she could only hear her own breathing going in and out. She then heard footsteps approaching from the stairs, knowing that it was Elijah coming her way.
“Fucking hell, Akia are you alright?” he said and from the looks of his appearance, he had some small blood splatters across his face. His bottom lip chipped open, and a bruise was shown on his right cheek.
Akia as well looked like shit, her right cheek was bruised up, some blood coming out of her nose, while some marks were left around her neck, feeling as well terrified and shocked. Elijah then looked down at the now dead masked person, and he just hugged her tightly in his arms.
“Shit Akia, I thought they fired those bullets on you, glad that it wasn’t you,” he said while she felt still like a statue processing in what happened in front of her.
They then heard more footsteps coming from behind them, which were Milo and Noa catching their breaths while they ran their way in Elijah’s and Akia’s direction.
“What the fuck, you guys got attacked as well? Jesus fuck, we should warn the others right now. Everything went by in a flash for us, while we noticed we got attacked by these crazy lunatics. I think this place is a trap for anyone to set foot. We need to warn the others. I hope they as well didn’t get ambushed. Come on, guys, let’s move!!” Milo said. Everyone now made their way back to the others.
Everyone ran their way out of the building. It was now nighttime and as they ran their way back to the vehicle, hoping that everyone else was alright. While they were running for cover, bullets fired their way, then dodged them. They finally made it for cover behind the rectangular prism of the truck, they then fired back while being covered by the truck. As they were already getting low on bullets, Max, Ethan, and Terra then fired from on the second floor of the school building, while they took cover from the other bullets on the other side. As other mysterious shooters got shot one after the other, Max, Ethan, Alex, and Terra made their way down the building. They made their way towards Akia and the others, they then made their way inside the back of the truck. While they fired more bullets, Ethan, without a second to lose, started the car. As everyone got inside the truck, they then headed out of the town, getting back on the road once again now. As Terra and Noa close the double doors while the truck was in motion, they then heard what sounded like motorbikes coming their way. Now, trying to get as far away from this town as they could, Ethan sped up the car faster, making everyone stumble a bit.
As they got back into the desert road again, Max then sat on the passenger seat next to Ethan, while reloading his gun.
“Terra, Noa, Milo, Elijah, get your guns ready. They are on our tail now. Don’t stop shooting at these bastards no matter what,” Ethan said over his shoulder, while in the rearview mirror on his side saw more motorbikes gaining behind them.
The bikers were gaining on them, while the rest of the group were preparing their guns with bullets. They then heard bullets being shot outside of the rectangular prism. Then, out of nowhere, in a flash, a metal copper arrow was fired straight inside the truck. Which got stuck into one backpack that they brought on their journey. It left a scratch opening across Akia’s left cheek. A bit of blood spilled out from it now..
“Fuck!!” Akia cursed out, while Elijah and the others started to firing from the small hopper windows.
Max and Ethan fired some bullets in the truck's front, which Max blasted one of the motorbike rides. In the back now, Akia fired as well, trying to kill as many as they could. One motorbike, along with one sitting behind him, which was a man in a black suit, and wearing a very creepy and bloodied goat's skull, got himself on the truck, grabbing one of the bar handles attached to the prism. As he slowly waked sideways to the front trying not to slip, the goat man then made it to the front now. Max was busy firing at the other bikers on his side, and then, in a swift movement, the masked man wrapped an arm around Max’s neck, choking him now. Akia from the back of the prism saw this and, with her handkerchief in hand, she quickly made her way to Max’s rescue. She then stabbed the guy hard on the neck, blood gushing on her now bloody hand. But the bastard had another trick up his sleeve, which grabbed a handful of Akia’s hair and dragged her hard out of the car. Akia was now in midair, grabbing onto the door’s handle, but the door then opened immediately and in fright, the door now dangled along with her. Now she was holding onto the door for dear life. The beating of her heart increased terribly fast.
“Akia!!!” yelled out Max, while he tried his best to reach out for her, but she was far away from where she was.
Ethan saw this happening and called out for Elijah to help Max out, and so he came to Max’s side. He then tried to pull up the dangling door with his two firm hands, grunting while Max helped him out. While this was going on, out of the color of Max’s eye, he saw another biker approaching. He had a very disturbing scarecrow mask with big bloody antler horns on the top of the head. Everything went slow motion for Max at that very moment, for then the biker then took out a long sniper gun while he balanced himself on the bike. And as the bullet went off from the gun, it went straight to Akia, and landed on her the left side of her stomach, making her scream in pain.
“NO, AKIA!!!” Elijah yelled out, as Max then screamed in anger and jumped on top of the biker.
Akia felt the painful and yet agonizing pain on her side, while she tried her best to hold on to the door, which at this point it was about to let loose. Max punched the masked man with so much anger that he knocked him out cold. There were so many bikers roaming around the truck that everyone’s bullets were running out at that precise moment. Everyone was feeling at the brink of losing hope, not knowing if they will make it out of alive during this total chaos. But out of just at the right time, another group appeared as one of them fired arrows at the masked group. Ethan saw this happening, not knowing if they should fire them, but as he saw one of the last motorbikes saw their doom, he then caught sight of the new and unknown group.
There were two rusted black cars with dazzling headlights while the others were in Ethan’s surprise, riding on horses. One horse was a black stallion, and another was a light brown horse from what Ethan can see since it was nighttime. As Ethan made the vehicle come to a complete stop, Max also stopped the motorbike, having a steady balance on Akia in his arms.
“Akia, hey, it’s alright I got you,” he said while she winced and moaned in pain at the sharp wound on the side of her stomach.
Max put as much pressure on her wound with his right hand, knowing that she was losing so much blood right now. It made him feel so panicked on the inside. The two mysterious black cars stopped from behind while the other riders on horseback came to a halt, too. Man squinted his eyes from the lights of the cars, but he then saw the mysterious people approaching them, and quickly recognized who they were. It was the people of Zinnia Town, which Max felt of relief knowing that they were near the town.
“Ethan, it’s alright, they are the people from Zinnia Town, their The Desert Strikers,” Max called out to him, while he looked back at group members walking their way towards them.
Their eyes were covered by black goggles, with light brown scarves covering their mouths, while they wore black long sleeve shirts, grey cargo trousers, and a long dark brown hooded cloak was covered over their bodies. Ethan signaled to everyone else that they were safe now, knowing that they will arrive at Zinnia Town soon. Max kept more pressure on Akia’s stomach but he knew that if they wasted more time, she will probably pass out or worst die from losing too much blood.
“Max, here, cover her wound with this,” said one of the Desert Strikers, handing his brown cloak while Max wrapped it around Akia’s stomach.
Max immediately recognized the voice from the man that gave his cloak. It was Mathew who he then removed his black goggles from above his head, as he also removed his scarf down from his mouth.
“Mathew, it’s good to see you again.”
“Its good to see you too, my dear friend, but we should not waste time anymore. We have to quickly get her back to town so we can stop the bleeding. Get you friend in the truck and try to keep pressure on the wound. I’ll drive the motorbike, go,” Mathew said, which Max did what he was told.
He carefully carried Akira back into the truck, which Milo and Terra opened the double doors for them, while the rest of The Strikers got back to their cars and horses. Akia winced and whimpered again while Max climbed up the prism, feeling guilty that he was hurting her more. As they got inside, Alex and Noa closed the doors as Ethan then started the vehicle once again, while The Desert Strikers lead the way towards Zinnia Town. Max then placed Akia onto a medium size bed as Akia groaned once again.
“Alex, get that kit box out from my backpack now hurry,” Max commanded as Alex went for the kit.
“Akia, you're going to be alright, just hold on a little longer, we're almost to Zinnia Town,” Elijah said while he hold on to Akia’s bloody right hand.
“She’s going to be alright, don’t worry,” Max reassured Elijah, but his blood was boiling from the inside that he then gripped a hard hand on Max’s neck.
“That fucking bullet should have penetrated through you, NOT HER!!! This is all your fault that you let her get the bullet, you fucking bastard,” Elijah said while Noa and Milo restrained him away from Max.
“Elijah enough!!! It is nobody’s fault alright. Look at me, Akia is going to be fine, but this is no time to point fingers at anybody. Now let Max get her fixed up and enough with this nonsense,” Milo said while he tried to put some sense into him as the other twin had a hand on his shoulder to relax him.
Alex then came back with the kit Max asked for, and he then took out a bottle of alcohol and some white cotton gauzes while he then slowly removed the brown cloak away from Akia’s stomach. He then carefully lifts her now bloody brown shirt up while he saw the gushing blood coming out of the bullet wound.
“I need to take the bullet out of her. Alex, bring me a white towel from my backpack, Milo, I need you to hold her down while I take out the bullet,” he said as Alex then came back with a small white towel, as Milo now gently hold on to Akia’s upper body. Elijah then grabbed onto her left hand. His eyes were forming tears, trying his best to keep it together, but was very difficult. Max then took out a carmalt forceps from the kit as he then handed the white towel to Milo. Which he then dabbed and wipe some sweat away from Akia’s forehead, as Max now was in position to remove the bullet from her.
“Akia, I am so sorry, this is going to hurt. I’ll do this as quick as I can,” Max said to Akia as they both locked into each other’s eyes.
“Its alright M-Max, just,… do what you need,… to do,… I trust you,” Akia said
Max then nodded his head in reply and then he looked back at Milo, who he as well nodded his head in a “ready” gesture. Max then breathe in for a moment as he then tugged the forceps inside her wound, making her grunt and scream in pain. Milo tried his best to keep Akia as steady as he could, while Terra and Alex watched in pain and worry just hearing her painful screams.
“FUCK,…. FUCK!!!” Akia whimpered while tears now stream down her eyes, feeling the pain from the touch of the forceps.
A moment later Max then found the short long bullet, while he then covered her wound with one of the cotton gauzes. He then opened the bottle of alcohol and gently poured the liquid on her wound, making her hiss in pain. Akia’s vision from her eyes blurred and saw black spots, feeling like she was about to pass out, while she could hear her soft and slow breathings. She caught sight of Max for a moment, seeing those blue eyes of his that were beautiful in Akia’s eyes.
“Akia,… stay with us, you are alright now ok?” Max said he wrapped the cotton gauge around her stomach, which Akia couldn’t hear what he just said.
She tried her best to keep her eyes awake, but suddenly she saw black visions, and then her eyes closed. Elijah saw this and, in a panic, he then cupped her face with both of his hands, calling out her name.
“Akia, Akia, no,… no, no, not you too please,” he said, his voice sounding more in distress and in the prink of a heart attack.
Max placed two fingers on the side of her neck. He could feel a light pulse, but it wasn’t a strong one. He then made his way to the front of the truck, and in the far distance they were approaching another looking canyon, but this time it had tall mountains expanding from left and right. Max then grabbed a cylinder of oxygen tank with a string mask attached to it. He then wrapped the stringed mask around Akia’s mouth and then turned the tank, making a hiss sound. While everyone worried if Akia would not wake up, not knowing if it was already too late to save her life. Max felt more agitated on the inside, while watching Akia’s now unconscious body praying that she was staying strong from the inside. He really didn’t want to go through the same thing when he also almost lost Furiosa, and he will not let that happen to anyone, especially Akia.
Please don’t go away Akia, please… not yet.

Max Mayfield x fem!reader (fluff) where they have a dance party to madonna in her room! I got this thought in my head last night and can't get it out 😭 thank you <33.
-💌 anon.<3 (I'm backkk ❤)
OMG! I was worried about you!
Max Mayfield x Reader
Lyrics of Madonna's new song was playing in the background as you swayed with the love of your life. Max Mayfield.
'Wheres the party, I want to lose control. Where's the party, I want to free my soul. Where's the party, I want to lose control. Couldn't wait to get older.'
You smiled as you both danced along to the lyrics. This was a typical date night. A tradition. You would both listen to Madonna, Kate bush, Bowie, among other artists and hand out every week.
Max bumped her hips into yours and grabbed your wrists to make them sway to the music even more. Her smile was bigger then it had ever been with lucas. They were still friends. Mainly because of the party.
You usually invited El. But, it was date night and Max said she wanted to spend quality time with her girlfriend. Lucas was still mad that you stole his girl. The only consistent girl in the party, stole the only other consistent girl in the party.
'Slow down you move to fast. Gonna make the good times last. Gonna let my hair hand down. I'm ready now.'
You thought of all the good times you both had together. Dancing in your bedroom, riding bikes to watch the sunset, the time you bribed Steve to be your ride to watch the starts together.
There were two many to count. Your favorite ones were like this. Smiling and laughing with your girlfriend.
You smiled as you quickly kissed Max. She stopped dancing for a brief moment before swaying her hips again and then returning the favor. The kiss also left you frozen for a moment.
You smiled. This was your favorite thing. ever. Seeing max smiling was better then all the ice cream you both got from stev.
She flopped on the bad laughing as the song came to an end. Hearing one last verse before you both would call it a night for dancing and stay up until you fell asleep reading comics.
'We can make you dance, we can make a partyast all night.'
You flop on the bed next to her as the radio continues. The way you got away with so many sleepovers was that you two were 'bestfriends'. It might sound kinda dumb, but your parents bought it.
Steve hadnt. He had known instantly, before you two were even dating. He said I'm the last few weeks of her dating Lucas, he saw her happier with you.
It did make you feel bad for lucas. It wasn't his fault. Max had always been a little more into girls, just to afraid to act on it. Trying to conform to the 'normal'.
That was until she dumped Lucas one summer and when she told you... you had kissed her. That was the time Lucas got dumped; for good.
"You know I love you," Max says with a smile as she presses another kiss to your lips. She does it in the way that makes you both smile and hearts flutter.
"You know I love you more," you say and kiss her nose. She pouts until you press a kiss to her lips.
This was pure bliss. Listening to Madonna with the love of your life, star in the dark sky's, max mayfield.

I am AU obsessed. Most, if not all, my fics are alternative realities, and here goes another one.
Mando Mad Max
Tumblr media
In a galaxy far, far away...
Chapter One: Mando Prey
Out of all the planets she could have crashed landed on, why did it have to be Jakku? Meira didn’t really mind sand. She had visited Tatooine enough times to become accustomed to it. But what she didn’t like was that this planet was practically uninhabited. There would be no one to call to for help.
As she struggled to open the hatch of the stolen TIE fighter, she heard the sky rip open above her. Glancing up, dread washed over her as she saw it was the ship that had shot her down. It was the ship of a Mando called Mad Max.
She had heard of him and knew that the nickname had been given to him by his own kind, the Mandalorians. Why he had been given such a name was unknown to her. However, she could at least surmise that anyone called “Mad” was not a person to be trifled with.
Falling onto the hot, red sand of the planet, she struggled upright and searched for her DH-17 blaster pistol that had fallen out with her. She found it just as the other ship landed. Then, she ran.
No way in hell was she going to attempt to go up against a Mandalorian. She was just a young woman from Naboo who had joined the rebel alliance. And just four days ago, the Empire had fallen due to the help of a young Jedi, the name she had heard was Skywalker.
She had been overjoyed, along with the rest of her rebellious friends. But now, she had a new problem. Instead of the Empire chasing her, it was a bounty hunter.
She would have thought that something as big as an evil, oppressive regime finally coming to an end would have caused anyone to call off work for a few days. But not this Mando, he seemed very focused on completing this job.
She spotted a boulder cluster not far from where she had crashed. She made her way quickly to the protective ring of rock, then dropped down behind a boulder. It was a matter of seconds when she heard him land just outside the cluster. She heard his jetpack turn off and the sand shifting as he walked towards her hiding place.
There was a brief pause before she heard him speak. Of course he was wearing his helmet and his voice sounded mechanical as he spoke. “I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold, you decide.”
“That’s a bit extreme considering my parents probably want me back alive,” she shouted at him from behind the boulder.
Meira’s parents were nobles on Naboo. They had expected Meira to marry a politician who she didn’t like. He had been in favor of the Empire, and that disgusted her. So, one night, two years ago, she fled Naboo and sought out the rebel forces. She guessed her parents were eager for her return since the cause of the rebels had been fulfilled.
“Meira Yinnala, I suggest you do not test my patience,” Mad Max grunted as he entered the rock cluster. She switched her blaster to stun and stood up to shoot. But she missed as he sensed her and dodged the shot. With reflexes only a trained fighter would have, he shot back and hit her in the chest.
------------
Meira groggily opened her eyes. She looked around and discovered that she was on a ship, tied to one of the passenger chairs. “What the fuck?” she said, trying to pull at her restraints. The rattling of her chair triggered the pilot to turn around and point at her, “Don’t.”
She blinked upon seeing the Mandalorian’s face. Mad Max was…well, he was very attractive. His face was tan, the contrast enhancing his brilliant blue eyes. His lips were full, albeit slightly chapped and his overall features were very pleasant to look at. Though he was handsome, his face was set in such a stern manner that it allowed her to refocus on the fact that she was being kidnapped.
“Let me go!” she shouted, struggling against her bonds. Suddenly, a shot of pain from her chest made her gasp and she tensed up in the chair.
Max growled and leaned forward flipping a few switches on his control panel. Then he stood and lumbering back to where she was tied up. He glared down at her and said in a low voice, “Stop struggling, or you’ll hurt yourself.”
“Hurt myself? I think someone set his blaster to maximum tase, and that’s why I feel like shit,” she said, accusatorily.
“Yes, I did. And I’ll do it again if you don’t stop whining,” he said and walked over to a locked steel box mounted in the back of the cockpit.
“Whining? I have every right to complain! You don’t get it. My parents want me to marry a terrible person! I can’t go back there. Whatever they are paying you, I’ll double it!” Meira said, desperately.
“They are paying me 4 million credits,” Max said. “Where will you get 8 million credits, hmmm?” Meira bit her lower lip. It would have been impossible to even get 1 million credits let alone 8 million. “Well, what else can I give you? I can’t go back,” she pleaded.
Max had unlocked the steel box and extracted a drink from it. He opened it and drank it as he returned to the pilot seat. Meira looked at the drink thirstily, she felt parched. “Hey, at least give me some water?”
The Mando didn’t move, instead he just looked forward out the window, into the darkness that was space.
“Uh? Hello? Mr…uh, Max? Mad Max?” she said, hesitantly. Still he didn’t move, as if he were listening to something else.
“Oie! Mando! I want some water!” she finally shouted. That seemed to pull him from whatever trance he was in and he turned around. “Did you hear that?” he asked, sounding on edge.
Meira frowned, the only thing she had heard was her own voice shouting for water. She tilted her head to the side, “So, that’s why they call you Mad Max, because you’re crazy?”
Max turned fully around and glared at her. “What?” he said, venomously.
“There isn’t any sound, just me, wanting water,” Meira protested.
After she had said this, all the alert systems in the ship went off. The sound was almost deafening as the cockpit was filled with flashing red light.
“Dank farrik,” Max seethed as he worked the control panel, taking the ship out of autopilot to manual. “What is it?” Meira asked, as Max pulled the ship upwards. “I don’t know. I thought I heard something enter the airspace around us, but there was a delay in detecting them. I think they are imperial fighters.”
“Imperial fighters? Why though, the empire is gone!” Meira said, holding on to her chair tightly, almost glad she was tied to it for safety purposes. Max was maneuvering the ship rather aggressively as bright green lasers whizzed past them.
“Stop asking me questions!” Max shouted as he jerked the yoke of the ship, moving it to the right abruptly. Suddenly, they felt the impact of a laser hitting them from behind. The force pushed them forward in their seats.
Max began pushing several buttons and flipping switches up. “We are going to crash,” he said, typing something into the dashboard.
“Not again,” Meira said, bracing herself. “What’s the nearest planet?”
“Hoth,” Max replied and began to navigate towards the planet. Max dodged another shot from the enemy ship as he guided his own towards Hoth.
As they entered the atmosphere the imperial fighters diverted away from the planet. Max held tight to the handles of the yoke, trying his best to level the ship before impact. Every warning siren was going off, and Meira closed her eyes tight.
The ship was losing altitude quickly, “Brace for impact!” Max shouted as he used all his strength to keep the ship level. They hit the ground hard, jerking them from side to side, the ship burying itself into the snow that covered the entirety of Hoth. When the ship finally came to a halt, Meira opened her eyes to see that Max was slumped over onto the control panel.

Angharad may not be as experienced as Toast, as adept as Capable, as intuitive as Dag, nor as kind-hearted as Cheedo, but the Immortan did not declare her Splendid for nothing. She hears the wails of the Wretched and the jeering of the War Boys. She sees how the Sons flock to the Immortan like loyal dogs, how he wears his armor and badges in arrogant denial.
There has been a rage simmering inside Angharad for as long as she can remember. It had made her a vicious Pup, but she had tried to put it aside along with her white paint years ago. She knew it would be of no use here, would do little more than drive her mad.
But she feels it bursting fully to life now and welcomes it.”
