Vivienne Meyrink at the Met Gala 2023
Oh dear. Madam Vivi decided that she’d just steal a birds nest and place it on her head and call it fashion and while, I guess it kinda hits the theme, it looks like a nightmare I had in middle school. The only saving grace for this outfit is that the dress isn’t AWFUL and honestly, that’s giving more credit than she deserves. Vivi’s never been scared to push the envelope but maybe she should start being afraid of it because this is truly nightmare fuel.

one piece characters that i desperately need more of
buckle up. this is a long post because i’m gonna pick one from almost every arc i’ve seen so far. i’m an absolute fiend for characters with little to no screen time, so this is my way of showing love to some of the minor characters from one piece !!
koby
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i know he shows up from time to time, but i would really like more of him. he’s so sweet and cute and i’m a kobylu truther and i need him to give up being a tool of the state so he can sail the seas with his boyfriend and his boyfriend and his boyfriend and-
vivi
Tumblr media
i know she eventually shows up again, but i so badly wish she joined the straw hats. this list is kinda becoming “characters i wish were straw hats/that i ship with straw hats,” but i promise a lot of the characters are here for other reasons besides those two !! but yes, namivivi is so real it hurts. i remember virtually mourning the loss of vivi when she didn’t join the strawhats, even though i knew it was coming. i will rep namivivi til the day i die.
wyper
Tumblr media
wyper is the reason i made this list. he means everything to me. he is the best native rep i have seen in anime and it hurts me how under loved he is in the fandom. people call him annoying or too violent but he perfectly captures the rage that builds when people have had to live under colonization for generations. he is so close to my heart and i’m slowly starting a collection for him so i can make a wyper ita bag !! i just want to see more of him, whether he show up to say hi to the strawhats every hundred eps or so, or if they cut back to skypeia to show how they’re doing, i just miss him so much. anyone who says to skip skypiea is at best stupid and at worst a racist freak that hates native people.
kiwi & mozu
Tumblr media
these literal queens are the other reason i made this list. i love them so much and they’re just so funny. they’re amazing sisters and i wish we could see more of them !!
cindry
Tumblr media
she is adorable and so so tragic. i don’t necessarily wish she continued showing up in the series, i just wish we had more of her in thriller bark. they don’t really explain the whole “her body remembers who she was even though her soul is gone” thing and i wish they explored that more. she’s also absolutely hilarious and i wish she was more loved in the fandom, despite how small a character she is (though i know she does have a few die hards).
shakky
Tumblr media
she’s just literally so cool. she’s gorgeous and her relationship with rayleigh is amazing. they love each other so much but they both give each other enough space to do pretty much whatever they want !! their relationship seems to be somewhat canonically open since she flirts with brooke and i just think she’s a really cool character. also she used to be queen of amazon lily ?!?? how fucking cool is that !!
queen iva
Tumblr media
i know her legal name, but most of her friends call her iva so i will too. she is a star, and i absolutely love her. i want more of her so bad, i want her to be a reoccurring character and I WANT IT NOW. not much else to say, she just slays so hard.
madam shyarley
Tumblr media
why was she such a minor character ? she had such a cool character design, is the sister (i’m not sure if by blood or by adoption/found family) of arlong, and has fortune telling powers, for what ?!?? three episodes ?!?? a tragedy. she deserved better.
aaaand now we’re all caught up !! i haven’t finished punk hazard yet so i’m going to finish here !! i’ll try to remember to do another one of these once i’m caught up !!

Hi Vivi! I love your HP analysis and how objective you can be despite having strong opinion and feeling for some characters. That's why i wanted to ask you something about Marietta's scars. In HBP, the St. Mungo's healers manage to save AND completely heal both Katy Bell and Ron, which kind of confuses me: if they're able to do that, why didn't they cure Marietta? Personally I think, at the very least, Madame Pomfrey, Snape and Dumbledore (if not the majority of Hogwarts' staff) should have been able to identify and free her of that nasty curse. What are your thoughts on this?
Ha, I wouldn't call myself objective... I've gotten more and more flippant when it comes to Harry and Hermione as the years go by. Having Ron's feelings be constantly ignored by like 99% of fandom even among people who call themselves his fans will do that.
In HBP, the St. Mungo's healers manage to save AND completely heal both Katy Bell and Ron, which kind of confuses me: if they're able to do that, why didn't they cure Marietta?
That is the million Galleon question, isn't it?
How come Madam Pomfrey can mend broken bones, make Hermione's teeth nice and straight, and heal injuries that would take a normal human months if not years to recover from?
The reason is because Plot, of course, as is usually the case with anything Potter, but... there's another explanation.
And that explanation is Mad-Eye Moody.
In a world where you can regrow bones and brew miracle cures for everything, Mad-Eye Moody is an oddity, as he needs a prosthetic leg and a magical eye.
Why is that?
Mrs Weasley had staunched his bleeding now, and by the lamplight Harry saw a clean, gaping hole where George’s ear had been. ‘How is he?’ Mrs Weasley looked round and said, ‘I can’t make it grow back, not when it’s been removed by Dark Magic. But it could have been so much worse… he’s alive.’ - Deathly Hallows
... Dark magic. When your wounds are inflicted by Dark magic... they leave traces.
Harry was a baby when Voldemort tried to kill him with Dark magic and it left a trace.
Mad-Eye Moody was an Auror and tangled with Dark wizards and it left traces.
And Marietta... Marietta pissed off Hermione Granger... and it left traces.
The only possible conclusion... is that the spell Hermione put on the parchment was Dark magic, and given that Hermione explicitly states she took inspiration from Voldemort's Dark Mark to create the DA Galleons... well, who's to say she didn't get inspired by more than that?

Vivienne getting pimped out as a young adult to be the mistress of a much older rich white man is complete nightmare fuel, and I feel so bad for her and what she’s lived through and the person she’s had to become to be able to survive it.
But, like, you know when you feel your pity is condescending? Like you know she’d rather rather die and rather kill you (and not only you) than be anyone else? Do you think about how, if she hadn’t been abducted as a child, if she’d grown up where her parents were originally from, she’d likely have been possessed by a spirit as part of Rivaini mage tradition? Do you think of how afraid she is of spirits? Do you think about how she’ll defend her own abduction to the last breath bc she’s so afraid of the person (or people) that she could have been? You know how you can’t let that stand, no matter how bad you feel for her?
You know how, even if as Inquisitor you act in opposition to Vivienne’s principles, Trespasser reveals that even just letting her into the Inquisition gives her a foothold to expand the Chantry Loyalist political reach? The only reason I accepted Vivienne’s induction into the Inquisition in the first place was because I was playing a video game, and I wanted to experience all the characters and all the content. No, I do not think my Tal Vashoth apostate mage would have liked another pro-Orlais, pro-Circle person in their party, especially when she wears those allegiances on her sleeve during their very first meeting. Next time I play, I think I will politely decline her offer of aid. Do you think about how the thing Vivienne is most afraid of in the world is her own irrelevance? I condemn her to fates worse than death.
I don’t hate Vivienne, but I feel pretty sure that she’d rather I hate her than the actual way I feel about her. I’m pretty sure, if she had any reason to take notice of me to begin with, she’d go out of her way to curry my dislike rather than my pity. It doesn’t make either of us look good. It makes me feel ugly and slimy. Knowing, if all the cards were down, I’d ultimately fight against Vivienne, surrounded by ugly and slimy people who’d call her unfeeling and vilify her for being ambitious and unapologetic and a black woman - that makes me feel extra ugly and slimy.
I’ve tried to write fic about Vivienne several times, but I always stop. It makes me feel too slimy.

(n) A burning lust.
Ciel Phantomhive has just started his second year of training at the renowned London Ballet Company. Although being talented enough, he tends to dwell on self-depreciation, comparing himself to his colleagues. Alois Trancy stands out in this comparison, seeming to have all the abilities Ciel lacks. As the auditions for the new season begin, the young dancer believes that Alois will receive the best role. However, he gets shocked to discover he was chosen instead. Alois, who had never given much attention to Ciel, starts bullying him after the results. His self-image issues worsen and he falls into Claude Faustus clutches, who takes advantage of his vulnerability to seduce him. Ciel, in turn, starts rehearsing with Sebastian Michaelis. At first, the boy felt a great aversion towards him. But gradually melts the sour attitude, realizing his anger was a result of a giant will to be like the dancer and to possess him. Sebastian, however, felt a strong attraction for Ciel since the first time he saw him dance. The older primarily tries to get the boy to submit to his dominance. But the more he learns about that little bird, who is so beautiful and delicate, the more smitten he gets.

actually for steren and vivienne's fic i kinda wanna entirely rewrite the thieves guild questline where, despite brynjolf thinking vivienne is a good option for the guild (he roped vivi into pickpocketing when steren was busy), mercer refuses to let them join saying its useless. brynjolf keeps pushing so mercer instead sends them to take care of golden glow
only when they come back (only vivienne is welcome in the cistern after steren goes off on him) mercer is disappointed but happy to see there is a clue at who is behind their guild falling. before he then says he'll only continue to let vivienne join if vivi kills steren
he makes up a good excuse. steren clearly has ties to another crime syndicate based on his behavior and the fact sapphire managed to see his tattoo showing he was the grandmaster of house hlaalu, sketched it, and sent it to the guild who verified one mark on it mentioned the cammona tong. mercer says for all they know, steren planted this evidence or is working with the same person to undermine them. vivienne denies it and several others of the guild oppose it saying the cammona tong has basically been dissolved after the red year and argonian invasion, but mercer doesn't relent. he can either kill steren or leave because he's siding with an unaffiliated crime syndicate.
once again, other guild members oppose this. they are thieves, not assassins, but mercer says desperate times call for desperate measures. he's the leader after gallus died 5 years ago (im cutting it down to 5. this is skyrim not morrowind okay nords dont live that long 25 years is a long ass time) but vivienne leaves, furious and crying
steren says they aren't missing much. they can do smth else important, like visit the college to look for the elder scroll. only on their way there they're approached by karliah who reveals mercer has actually put out a hit on vivienne and steren with the dark brotherhood (to explain assassins coming after them) and that she wants their help to take him down. they'd all benefit from his death after all. and thus karliah is met without the other quests that i think wouldnt work and are a little too contrived for my tastes anyways
mercer is dealt with, eyes of the falmer stolen, and steren gets nauseous being around them (im using @wellthebardsdead's idea for the eyes being the eyes of lorkhan in wyrm's fic. they arent fusing with steren but steren has been exposed to the heart of lorkhan and feels physically ill being around them due to the remnants of the heart's influence). they then finally go back to the college for the elder scroll information (steren doubted they'd have that particular one they're looking for but goes along with it anyways bc its their only lead)
after talking to the crazy guy for the dwemer cube enthir stops them on their way out of town when they stay for the evening to say that he's gotten word from a guild contact that shipment of disguised morag tong guild members are looking for someone with steren's description which sets him off. steren thinks it obviously must have been one of the old customers or the brothel madam herself so he's on edge

Evalien: *steps into ravenrock and hackles immediately raising as she spots temple guards in the centre of town and a dunmer in robes belonging to house Dres* Vivi, Wyrm, behind me.
Wyrm: *grabs Vivienne’s arm and pulls him behind her as told* danger.
Vivienne: *face paling behind his mask recognising the dunmer* I-I know…
Evalien: *approaches with extreme caution as the guards and dunmer approach the group* how can I help you? *pauses taking in his robes* Councillor.
Sen Dres: Councillor Sen Dres, of the great house Dres. I am here on the heels of a fugitive I believe you’re harbouring. *looks behind her to the smaller elves hiding*
Evalien: *glances back* My sons? Neither of them are criminals. And if you’re referring to my companions, the only two I’m certain to have set foot anywhere near morrowind are Xelzaz and Teldryn.
Sen Dres: Then you won’t mind us seeing their faces to be certain-
Evalien: I would in fact. They are masked for their safety, only those who have my confidence are permitted to see their faces.
Sen Dres: And just why is that?
Evalien: *steam billowing out of the locks of her animated dragon priest mask as it opens up, revealing her face* Have you ever met a Dwemer before?
Sen Dres: *mouth agape in shock staring up at her as her eyes dilate with the light hitting them, pin like pupils surrounded by artherium blue burrowing holes into his soul* I- I- f-forgive me my lady, I was misinformed- these- two are your sons?? *assuming they’re both dwemer as well and vivienne isn’t one of them*
Evalien: Yes. *closes her mask again* As the dragonborn and a deep elf their identities are masked for their safety whilst around me. If there is nothing else, kindly leave.
Bass: *steps forward, helm opening revealing his face as an extremely pissed off hulking dwemer*
Sen Dres: *assuming he’s her husband and not wanting to be impaled by the massive drill attached to his power armour* y-yes madam- *bows and quickly hurries off with the guards*
Evalien: *watches him go* …Fucking cunt… Vivi, Breathe.
Vivienne: *gasps for air letting out a breath he didn’t realise he was holding* y-you lied t-to protect me? Why?
Evalien: I didn’t lie. I just didn’t tell the truth. *smiles and pats his head*

Vivienne Meyrink at the Golden Awards
Classic and beautiful. Madam Vivi truly understood the assignment with this look that is perfection from head to toe. The fabric could have come off as cheap but on Vivi’s frame its draped flatteringly and the accessories truly bring the look together.

Once upon a time in a fairytale
"I'm sorry, but this is some kind of mistake, Lady Eckart! There's no way I can be the missing daughter of the Eckart family!"
"Why not?"
"All my life that I can remember, I have lived here - in this small village. I've never been to the capital, and… look at me! I don't look like you at all!"
The Duchess raised her right eyebrow skeptically, not even knowing what to say to such a loud comment. There was an awkward silence.
"Lady Penelope is not the duke's own daughter…" a servant whispered behind the guest.
The young woman blushed to the ears, realizing what nonsense she had just said.
"I'm sorry--"
"You really are a copy of your cheeky brother," grinning, Penelope waved her hand, beckoning the servants. "Wash her. We are going to the capital tomorrow."
Vivi is a country girl from a small village located near one of the main trading cities of the empire. She didn't remember herself until she was seven, she didn't have a name, she didn't know where she came from, and almost all her life it remained a mystery, although many orphaned children told her to forget and not to remember the past, convincing her that it certainly wasn't as happy as she imagines. Unable to find her parents, the girl was sent to an orphanage. Vivi quickly adapted to her new home and behaved openly and friendly with everyone, which is why others quickly became attached to her and did not allow anyone to offend her. As a teenager, Vivi started helping adults take care of other children and run the household. Thanks to the help of the nanny and the townspeople, as well as the gossip that the children spread, Vivi got a job at the Town Hall.
But no one canceled hard work. Vivi had to combine work in the village and the town hall with a shelter. Sometimes, she couldn't feel her legs from fatigue and barely reached her room.
One day, an abandoned mine is reopened and prepared for operation. Workers from the village are recruited there, which was joyfully celebrated in the pub for getting a new job. She came to help the hostess with cleaning the rooms that she rented out for the night to travelers or small traders.
After taking a short break, she stood against the wall and listened to the rumors. As it turned out, the mine was bought by a very rich and noble lady. The men burst out laughing, saying if this young lady was crazy enough to buy a dilapidated mine that had ruined its previous owner, or if she was so stupid in pursuit of money that she even bought this.
"Hey, Vivi, be careful when that woman comes here! They say that aristocrats, seeing a beautiful commoner, can severely punish her because of envy!" one of them exclaimed waving a mug.
"Don't pay attention, Vivi, these fools, as always, talk the first thing that comes to their mind" After hearing the loud laughter of the company. "You'd better behave as usual when she arrives. If you curry favor with her well, she can pay you well and you will finally buy yourself that pink dress from Madame Du".
That evening, when Vivi returned home, she collapsed on the bed. She imagined how she would walk around the village in her new pink dress and go to the festival in it.
After falling asleep, Vivi could not even imagine what her meeting with Lady Eckart would turn out to be.

Radiator Springs/Rusteze-Dinoco Racing Center/Fireball Beach/Thunder Hollow/Thomasville/Florida International Speedway (Cars)
Takes place after Cars 3.
It isn’t combat based. Missions include keeping up with McQueen’s top speed by racing down Radiator Springs’ main street, learning how to turn right to go left at Willy’s Butte, keeping up with Cruz’s top speed on Fireball Beach, avoiding pushy competitors with the Thunder Hollow challengers, and practicing with Cruz at Thomasville, culminating in the Piston Cup race at Florida International Speedway, where the objective is to win against Jackson Storm.
Sora enters the world as a custom-made sports coupe mixing a few real-life sports car models before visits to Luigi’s Casa Della Tires and Ramone’s House of Body Art end with him modified into a next-gen race car sponsored by Dinoco (with Tex’s blessing) and with Cruz’s number.
It’s set during Cruz’s first Piston Cup racing season, so McQueen still has Doc’s colors and spends the Florida race as Sora’s crew chief.
As Sora finishes his story, Mater is certainly unhappy with Xehanort’s actions forcing Sora’s hand. “That dad-gum Xehanort”, he says angrily. Extra points if Sora doesn’t get to the part where Xehanort is dead, then Sarge gets in his face and demands him to teach Xehanort a lesson when he gets back in a militaristic manner. “Is that understood,” Sarge yells. Then Sora tries to correct him, but gets cut off and asked again, “Is that understood,” and has to respond, “Sir, yes, sir!”
Of course, during the top speed races, Luigi is the one to signal the race to begin.
In the Radiator Springs race, Sora’s top speed is tracked by Sheriff’s speed radar, and on Fireball Beach, it’s via Cruz’s personal assistant, Hamilton.
If you fail the “Turn Right to go Left” mission, Sora goes flying into the bed of cacti, and Mater fishes him out.
I know I’ll get hate for this, but Cars 2 elements are here. Heck, maybe Mater can’t be present most for the training because he’s busy with Finn and Holley. After all, does he still owe Holley a first date?
I wanted the player character in this world to be Kairi just so Storm can feel the embarrassment of losing to not one, but two “costume girls”.
The Piston Cup race is announced as a 500-lap race, but no game developer is that malicious to force the player to race 500 laps around an oval, so they’d take after the first Cars game and make it twelve laps with the sun slowly lowering throughout the race.

Chapter 5 (English): Alabasta Here We Are, The Meeting
Zeff finally set foot in Alabasta 2 days later. The past two days had been incredibly awkward and the little group took Yan to the doctor almost immediately. His situation hadn't worsened but it also didn't improve.
The chef was followed by Patty and Carne who decided to stay with him for the time being while the rest of the crew had started to wander around. They were at Nanohana right now and according to Kehos, who still dared to speak to him, the doctor he told him about was living there.
From what he could see, Nanohana was a port town, which meant he would probably be able to find a navigator willing to come with him.
Zeff knew the Strawhat Pirates had helped Alabasta. They talked about how a marine named Smoker had apparently saved the country from the warlord Crocodile but he also knew that Monkey D. Luffy had been there and Zeff knew better than to trust the Marine's propaganda. He was quite sure Luffy had been the one to help them all, it was who he was, he did as he wanted, and the rumor of Princess Vivi being their friend was enough for him to be certain of that.
And if Luffy was the real savior, then that meant the people would probably help him if he said his son was part of Luffy's crew.
However he didn't take that for granted.
“It's freaking hot here. How are we supposed to survive ?!” Patty said with sweat rolling from his forehead.
“I don't know, maybe because they are locals ? Use your brain for a second.” Zeff replied with a grunt.
“It must be the heat frying his brain cells.” Carne while grinning.
“Oh for God's sake shut up.”
When they reached the city centre, they were surrounded by all the noises, colors and smells coming from the shops, the clients and life itself. Zeff had no idea how to find the man he was looking for. He never took this path when he sailed the Grand Line the first time. He had no other choice than to ask people if they knew where to find him.
Apparently, Carne had the same idea and went to a stall where a woman, probably in her twenties, was selling spices.
“Excuse me Madam, would you know where we could find a man named Koil? He's a doctor.”
“I don't know him but you should ask there.” She showed him a stall held by a man and his wife. “They are known as the hypochondriac couple. They think they have every disease that exists and they went to many different doctors. They might help you.”
He thanked her and this time, Zeff went first. The man seemed to be fifty-something and so was his. They both looked anxious when they approached and took a step back.
“If you want to buy something, do it quickly.” The wife said while crossing her arms.
“Do you know a doctor named Koil?” Zeff asked.
“Why do you want to see that liar? He's good for nothing, I have no idea how he became a doctor. He's not even able to tell us what we got!” The man started to spew on the doctor.
“Sir, we just want to know where to find him.” Patty added, clearly tired of his nonsense.
“Oh, easy. You go up the street and it's the worst house you'll see. How dare he call himself a doctor…I swear this man….”
Zeff, Patty and Carne didn't hear the end of their speech, they had left the moment they had told them where to go.
“What the hell was that. People just can't take what changes have happened to them now.” Patty said.
“Patty, you know it's not easy for them, right? It's a paranoïa, and even more, it's something regarding mental health, just like other more known problems like anxiety. It's something that IS a sort of disease but not the kind they think they have.” Zeff explained while looking around to see if the house was here.
“I don't understand how this works.” Carne said.
“You don't have to understand a problem to be able to have empathy. I thought you knew better not to judge someone different from you.”
Zeff ended the conversation on this bittersweet note. He had to say, he was frustrated by their reaction. Yes it was tiring and the couple hadn't been kind with them, but still.
Everyone had problems and everyone had a different reaction to said problems. Maybe he should do more mental health awareness on his ship, he had a kid who probably had anxiety after all.
They arrived in an area where there were less people and more houses. They had left the market area and now were in the living part of the city. Carne saw a kid running around with a ball and went to talk to him.
“Hey kiddo, do you perhaps know a man named Koil?”
“Uncle Koil?” The kid asked while taking the ball in his hands.
“I don't know? Is he a doctor?”
“Yeah! Uncle Koil heals everyone here! He's the best!”
“I see well, we'd like to see him, could you lead us?”
“Follow me!”
The three men glanced at each other, nodded and followed the little kid. He was still playing with the ball and humming while taking them to the doctor's house. But from what the kid had said, if the man was an important person, the chances for him to  go with them were low.
The kid stopped right in front of a big house with a plate near the door.
“It's here!”
“Thank you kiddo, you're a good little one.”
“My mom always says that!” The kid giggled with a big smile on his face.
“And she's right. Now we have to go inside, thank you again.” Zeff said and couldn't stop the wave of nostalgia this kid brought with him.
They entered and were immediately faced with a huge entrance hall. Children's drawings were hanging everywhere and a lot of furniture, chairs, tables, shelves, everywhere.
Patty took the lead and went to the door on their right and opened it. Inside there was a bed with a desk and medical supplies. It was probably where he worked.
They closed the door, turned around and were faced with a small man, with grey hair and a beard, wearing glasses and clearly not happy to see them.
“What do you want? Why are you rummaging?”
“You must be Koil, right?” Patty asked.
“No I'm the king you fool.” The man answered with a poker face.
“Really funny old man.” Carne said.
“Enough you too. We didn't know where to find you and a little kid showed us the way. Can we talk to you?”
“Tss..follow me.”
They went upstairs and entered what was the man's office.
“Well, what do you want from me. I don't heal people for free.”
“We are searching for a doctor to set sail with us. Would you join us?” Patty finally said.
“Ah! Pirates I see. I won't.”
“We're not pirates..we're a restaurant crossing the Grand Line.” Carne mumbled.
“As if I'd believe you.” Koil crossed his arms and glared at Carne.
“A man recommended you to me and said you'd understand if I told you about the situation.”
“Which man? I know plenty of them.”
“Kehos. Him and his friends sailed with us from Whiskey Peak to Nanohana.”
Koil raised an eyebrow and seemed more interested.
“Kehos, the man who looks like a puppy?”
“Yeah him.”
“Ah I see.”
The doctor sighed and sat down. Patty and Carne seemed to be uncomfortable and they were fidgeting with a scowl on their face. Zeff wondered who taught them social manners because they clearly lacked here and he had been a pirate.
The chef sat down and was soon followed by his staff.
“Why do you need me?”
“You see, I'm sailing the Grand Line but we don't have a doctor and a navigator. I plan on finding a navigator here too but for now a doctor is our priority.”
“In what world did you think it was a good idea to do what you're doing?” Koil scoffed.
“In a world in which my son is in danger.”
By the look Zeff's answer created on the other man's face, it was a good explanation.
“Your son?”
“Yes, my son. He's part of the Strawhat Pirates and I'm sure you've read the newspaper.”
“Ah. The one getting married… I have kids too, they grow up and have their own lives now.”
“Don't even dare thinking that my son is willing to get married for his birth family.”
The air around them was tense and everything was about to snap when the little kid entered with four people they knew oh so well.
“Uncle Koil! Uncle Koil! They're back!”
“I can see that. Great timing you four.”
“Don't tell me…” Yan, finally on his two feet, said.
“I see you've met the chef.” Tara added.
Now, the situation was even worse. It was almost as if a spark would ignite the room. It was Kehos who broke the silence.
“So they told you about their problem?”
“Of course. And you thought I'd follow them.”
“Well…yes?” Kehos said hopefully.
“My boy, you're too naive.”
“But you saved us! You can save them too!” Kehos replied.
“You four were kids left alone in the desert!”
“Well their friend is in danger! It's just like for us!”
“No it's not!” Koil almost screamed.
Kehos gasped and took a step back. Yan looked at him and squeezed his shoulder before exchanging a look with Tara and then he started to speak.
“Old man, as much as I dislike them, they saved me.”
“What do you mean?”
“I…I had an allergic reaction on their boat to something I had never tasted before, no one knew and that man over here saved me. We just came back from the doctor and because I had been taken care of, my condition easily improved.”
“I didn't know he could talk that much without being hostile.” Patty whispered to  Carne.
“Shut up you too let them speak.” Zeff told them.
Yan seemed to be embarrassed by the whole situation. His cheeks were two shades darker and he kept bouncing from a leg to another. Eri had been silent the whole time but if eyes could kill, they would all be dead.
“Uncle Koil, please follow them. They saved Yan like you saved us and as much as I'm wary of them, I can't deny they did help us and that the allergic reaction wasn't entirely their fault..” Tara said.
“I still think this is a bad idea.” Eri mumbled.
“You think everything is a bad idea Eri.” Kehos replied.
Koil watched them intently before he closed his eyes. Silence came back and now they were all waiting for the man's reaction.
After what seemed hours, Koil opened his eyes and looked at Zeff with a resigned face.
“Fine, I'll go with you. But don't expect me to be kind with your crew. I'm merely doing it because the kids asked me so nicely.” The sarcasm in his voice could be easily heard.
“Then it's settled. Our boat looks like a giant fish.” Zeff said while standing up.
“A fish…how ridiculous.” Koil rolled his eyes. “I have to prepare everything for my departure, get out of my house.”
“Thank you uncle Koil!” Kehos happily added and seemed to be seconds away from jumping on the man to hug him.
“Yeah yeah, you owe me a favor, kids.”
“As always…” Eri ended the conversation by leaving the office.
“We'll leave when the Log Pose is set. You can do everything you need in this span.” Zeff told Koil.
“Near the port you should be able to find a navigator. They're all too willing to leave this place.” Koil grumbled.
“That we'll do.”
They all left the office without looking back. At least, it was one good thing for them.
