Danny dislikes Christmas normally but being allowed to dress up as the Grinch in a mall in Gotham city when he got a holiday job at least made things interesting that year.

Getting to beat up a rouge as the Grinch in character was just the icing on the cake, at least he made one of the bats laugh.

SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH THE BOYS | F1 GRID

lando enjoys the holidays for many reasons, and one of the main ones is how happy you always are. you take everything involving christmas very serious and he tries to help you as much as he can, but it’s lando, he can’t help but go up to santa at the mall, asking for what he wants for christmas as if he’s five years old, embarrassing you so much you don’t think you will ever be showing your face again. lando is awful at wrapping presents, but you take your time teaching him between giggles and kisses that taste like hot cocoa. and after a very stressful but fun day of shopping and wrapping presents, you end your day cuddle up in front the fireplace with hot drinks and a christmas movie.

charles knows you love christmas, so you don’t even need to ask for him to know that as soon as the season starts, you want to go and see the christmas lights around the neighborhood. so he drives you for hours, heart melting at your happy face and tears in your eyes. you decorate the tree together while christmas songs play in the background, that soon turns into a karaoke fight. charles’ favorite part of decorating the house is definitely when he has to lift you up so you can hang up the ones that you can’t reach by your own. of course you have stairs that could easily help you do it, he just doesn’t tell you.

oscar loves you so, so much because if that weren’t the case, he definitely wouldn’t be wearing the matching sweaters you gifted him a few christmas ago. much less while shopping where everyone can recognize him. but really, oscar doesn’t care if a picture of him wearing an ugly bright-green grinch sweater goes viral as long as you keep smiling at him every time you turn around to show him something. and it all pays off when you arrive home, after a day full of activities, and he feels your arms wrapping around him as you tell him how grateful you are between kisses.

max goes all out to make every christmas special and makes sure to have the days leading up to christmas free so you can go shopping together. what max loves the most is how you slip your hand inside his coat’s pocket so you can still hold hands. and when he sees all the ingredients to make a gingerbread house, of course he has to buy it. so when he comes home with a big smile you don’t hesitate to clean the kitchen and sit down to put it together. and it chaos, neither of you had done it before and it ends up being anything but a gingerbread house, but you love it, you made it together so it has a special place on the countertop where everyone can see it.

every year since you and alex have together he takes you to an ice rink. you both have learn a lot of tricks that, of course, end up with you bumping into people and falling. it’s your favorite night in december where you can just be kids together. the night ends up with you two walking down the christmas fair, sharing candy canes and hot cocoa while arguing about what movie to watch that night. and if you find yourselves under a mistletoe making out, well, nobody needs to know that.

daniel loves christmas in australia because he can be with you for a full month and scape the cold, too. all his family gets together on christmas eve and every year you are a bundle of nerves. they love you, you know that and daniel makes sure you remember, he also makes you forget all about nerves dragging you to the kitchen where the little ones are setting out all the snacks for santa and his reindeers. you finish with only half the cookies and carrots because daniel can’t help himself. after that all the adults gather in the living room to drink and chat. it’s a little different tradition, but you love it.

mick loves to do a mini photoshoot on christmas day with your matching pajamas because you two look so pretty in them, and needs it for his collection. then, sitting by the fireplace to exchange gifts before going your separate ways to spend christmas with your families. he always has that big and bright smile on his face that you love so much when it’s your turn to open your presents. you say your goodbyes outside in the snow, kissing and getting wet but not caring at all. you promise to see each other the next day to snuggle up in the couch and see your favorite holiday movies together.

• it was natural for the bots aboard to be interested in human customs ,, having lived in a war most their life . death and violence were something they were quite used to experiencing ,, never really having the time to experience anything outside of the horrors of war itself .

• swerve was one of the few main bots that pestered you often about human holidays . cybertronians didn't celebrate much ,, unless they were a group of autobots who just gave some decepticons a what-for .

• then again ,, swerve usually asked many questions regarding things on earth and what humans do . sometimes you humored him ,, sometimes you told little lies ,, like if you clapped three times in a mall it would be a sign that a tiger was loose . it was quite fun to put silly nonsense in that processor of his at times .

• though when it came to christmas he would not leave you alone . whether you celebrated it or not ,, you still explained the custom in general to him . how old saint nicholas would mosey on down the chimney ,, eat the cookies and drink the milk left out for him ,, and leave presents under the tree lit well and adorned with ornaments .

• you even pulled up the santa tracker for swerve ,, showing him where santa would go and be ,, how on christmas eve he would be flying around with his reindeer and leave presents

• hearing all of this intrigued chromedome and rewind ,, as well as tailgate and whirl . cyclonus didn't understand the hype and belief of having an old random man leave gifts in your house and eat your food even if left out specifically him . tailgate was thrilled though ,, a funny little old man leaving him gifts seemed so heavenly to him . chromedome and rewind ,, however ,, had different opinions . rewind was interested in this human holiday ,, whilst chromedome shared the same opinion as cyclonus . how were you sure this 'santa' guy wasnt gonna rob you ? and when you were sleeping nonetheless .

• rodimus already knew of this tradition ,, as did ratchet and ultra magnus . rodimus was quite ecstatic at the idea of having a christmas party ,, watching christmas movies and sipping on energon . maybe he could even have you sit on his lap ,, all cozy in those soft blankets and sippin on your own mug of hot chocolate .

• ratchet couldnt care less ,, grumbling something about how 'you humans and your holidays and customs' . though he definitely didnt deny the offer of going to this christmas party ,, it was nice to spend some time that didn't involve life threatening situations for once .

• ultra magnus ,, on the other hand ,, was quite picky about how the christmas party should be set up . he even tried to ban home alone ,, saying he didnt want rodimus to get any ideas from the traps in the movie . the last thing he needed was to end up in one the next day . though ,, the many outweigh the few ,, and so home alone was allowed in the movie marathon .

• now when you told him about the grinch ,, he wasnt sure if you were mocking him by saying it was an actual movie or if he should be concerned for what this dr.seuss guy was drawing . i mean ,, have you seen how hairy the grinch is ? or how the whos in whoville are shaped ? pointy noses and all ,, it was quite new to magnus .

• megatron ,, who overheard everything ,, already knew he wasnt going to be wanted at the party . it made sense ,, his past and everything he's done to earth and its people . though when you asked him to come ,, that you personally wanted him there ,, he swore he felt his spark stop for a second . he only gave a nod ,, whilst ravage bickered to him that night in his habsuite .

• whirl ,, to say the least ,, was prepared to fight santa . he was watching the santa tracker ,, waiting for the jolly fellow to pop up so whirl could fly down and bring out the big guns ( that brainstorm recently made ,, not yet tested out or put through a test trial so lord knows what may go wrong) . magnus almost had to throw him in the brig if he couldnt contain his sudden rage and fury for the old man .

• first aid was somewhat interested ,, never having celebrated a holiday before . it would be nice ,, getting together and doing nothing but watching movies all day . he hadnt seen movies from earth that much either ,, besides a few fast n furious ones here and there . needless to say ,, he was somewhat concerned for humans need to trash cars . he cringed a little on the inside ,, watching those perfectly good cars blow up . it was like a horror movie but for cybertronians .

• during the movie marathon ,, whirl tried to sneak violent night and black christmas in ,, saying they were also christmas movies and that they should watch them . magnus ended up throwing them out ,, saying no one really felt like seeing dying people during this one time of peace .

• drift enjoyed the nightmare before christmas ,, the claymation alone was enough to captivate him . then the designs of the characters ,, the music and songs ,, even jack's childlike wonder for christmas matched his own (in a few ways) . during that movie you sat with him ,, sharing a few facts about the movie itself . how long it took to make and how hard it is to do claymation movies .

• during the polar express you stayed with rewind and chromedome ,, snuggling in between the two and sippin on your hot chocolate . rewind enjoyed watching the train on the ice whilst chromedome puffed about how he coulda easily done that himself and saved everyone . you only rolled your eyes ,, muttering out a sure as you fought back a smile .

• during a break in between the movies you noticed megatron ,, standing awkwardly in the corner with his own cube of fools energon in servo . you smiled at the bot ,, walking up to him and having a small conversation with him . you didnt honestly think he’d show up ,, but youre glad he did . he let you sit with him during one of the movies ,, bonding well with the giant bot .

• he was quite warm ,, heat coming from off his body as you huddled close to him . he tucked his servo around you ,, worried you may fall off . for a few moments during the movie you swore you saw him smile at some of the corniest parts ,, or chuckle softly at some of the dumbest jokes .

• you took turns ,, switching between bots during different movies . you would sit in their laps ,, explain little things you liked about the movie playing and share a few things of your own childhood during this time of the year .

• it was nice ,, to say the least . having time to the bots ,, doing things that reminded you of home . it wasnt the same ,, but it was the thought that counted . spending time with them peacefully was more than enough for you ,, and definitely more than you could ask for this christmas .

Hi, I am currently slowly writing a story about Danny Fenton being a mall Grinch in gotham and later fighting a Batman rouge (think mall Santa only the Grinch instead). I got a few chapters up and some art.

Do you got any advice on writing? I would love to hear it.

Thank you for reading all my random dabbles. I really enjoy seeing people react to them. And no worries, I'm used to people hating. My HP and HP blog fics have been getting a lot of messages. Some people just have a lot of free time.

As for advice,

I always pick a character and write their POVS because I like exploring a character's narrative compared to what the audience knows.

You must know the character's mindset to write how they react to things. Know their backgrounds, likes, dislikes, habits, pet peeves, and favorite foods.

Knowing what the character would "see" first is also important. Like when describing settings. Most people (not all I know) do not spend three hours counting the grass stands or how many buildings are on the street, but they will usually spot one thing first - maybe the sunset looks really nice? A group of kids is playing, and screaming to the side? maybe they smell something good?- and their mind launches on to that before noticing other details.

Sprinkle into how they interact with the world makes them see real and more three-dimensional. Show not tell is one of my favorite methods to get that across.

For Example Tim,

He grew up wealthy but neglected. He is externally book smart and even has a good grasp of street smart, but emotionally intelligent, he's not the best.

To tell would be something like:

"Tim is a great CEO. Despite being young he can run a business great, can keep up with the Batman and can even find the time to date."

To show would be something like:

"Tim prides himself in organizing his schedule for a well balance work and private life. His duties as CEO were easier to manage due to his training as Drake Heir. He knew how to smile, charm, and persuade the upper crust of Gotham long before he was running on roofs with Bruce."

Both work well for any situation but showing lets people know why the character is the way they are without making it sound like a list of facts.

stop, thinking of teddys first holidays. she’s still a little new to being earthside. like her first halloween you dress her up in an animal onesie or something, and she’s barely old enough to stay awake for longer than an hour for thanksgiving so everyone’s cooing over how blue her eyes are and how much heartburn you had because of how dark and curly her hair is. and for christmas you get to start your new family traditions, and how carms like “this is more for mama, then you” and she is just sucking on her paci looking at the new lights on the tree

oh i have to elaborate on these i'm sorry this is so cute ahhhhh!!! having an idea that you make a little calendar of teddy or maybe document each milestone with a cutesy type photo shoot??? i think carmen would sob.

thinking about teddy's first halloween. you ordered a little bear costume for her to surprise carmen and it's WAYYYYY too big lol. she ends up in a little pumpkin onesie instead, but carmen thinks the costume is adorable. how big she is in it. then next year, she fits in it and he's stupidly emotional. like beyond emo about it. she can sorta toddle and walk and babble and it's still a little big, but by her third halloween she fits in it. it became a running joke that you'd keep trying until she fit. you'd send a picture every year to your friends and family saying something like "closer this time! maybe next year!"

when it does finally fit, you snap a picture and put it on your instagram.

her first thanksgiving, she's about three months pushing four (i hc she's an august leo baby... she gives leo energy and you know she does). you had so much heartburn. next to carmy's pepto was your tums bc it was so bad. the old wives tale lived up bc she came out with a full head of hair. a true berzatto trait, you decided.

carmen's favorite holiday was thanksgiving. especially with you and his "chosen family" he likes being able to cook and it's not chaos like his usual family. he holds teddy while you eat, you'll spoon him bite fulls of his own meal but he's content being showered with compliments about how good the food is. boosts his ego.

you give teddy a little bit of gravy, off your pinky, everyone at the table laughing when she smacked her lips, eyes opening at the taste. carmen beamed. he'd never been so happy.

carmen and richie are taking a smoke break outside, so you take the chance to snap a photo. teddy all bundled up in a bear onesie (a gift from tina ofc) and you lay her in a pile of leaves.

carmen feels his phone buzz, looking down to see you tagged him in a photo on instagram. he's grinning ear to fucking ear.

first thanksgiving and first leaf pile. big day for teddy bear! thankful for my baby teddy and my baby daddy @/chefberzatto

by christmas, teddy is enamored with the lights. she loves watching the tree, just gawking at it and all it's shiny ornaments. carmen spends a good portion of his time holding her, bouncing her gently in his arms and showing her the many different sparkling trinkets on it.

carmen is doing his best to try and create new traditions, happy traditions that would let teddy grow up loving and looking forward to the holidays. not dreading them and wishing they'd be over soon like carmen grew up with. love and caring instead of chaos.

you'd taken teddy to see santa, which she'd sobbed the whole time about. carmen had to sit next to the mall worker, holding teddy so she'd be halfway calm, but even then she'd refused to smile- only giving a pitiful, pouting lip jut that had you melting and cooing at her.

carmen had insisted on making holiday cookies. gingerbread cookies (more for you and him than teddy) but he said it gave him time to perfect it by the time she could enjoy them. he'd make a batch, a homemade hot chocolate (your powdered and hot water made him gag) sitting down to watch the grinch with you and teddy. you in his arms, teddy cuddled to your chest in her little christmas footy pajamas.

carmen was at work the next day when marcus laughed, calling him over to see what you'd posted.

Regulus Arcturus Black is many things.

He is not, however, a convicted murderer. Yet. Because as soon as he gets his hands on Barty Crouch Jr., Regulus is going to jail for homicide. Except, any plans of murder will have to take a backseat because—

“Hi, welcome to Magical Winter Wonderland! Are you ready for your visit with Santa?” Regulus asks, voice imbued with as much false cheer as he can possibly manage. He resists the urge to yank off the scratchy green hat he’s wearing, or the fake pointy ears. “You can just go ahead and tell Santa what you’d like for Christmas.”

He winks at the little girl tucked behind her mother’s legs and motions for her to walk over to Santa, suppressing a sigh.

When Barty had begged Regulus to fill in for his temp job last minute, Regulus had been filled with an uncharacteristic sense of holiday spirit and said yes. Like an idiot. Because now he is spending his Sunday at the local mall, wearing a pointy hat and striped green stockings.

He has heard All I Want For Christmas approximately 500 times today alone, which is approximately 499 too many (with love and respect to Mariah Carey). The smell of peppermint is becoming slightly nauseating, and Regulus had never thought himself to be a Grinch, but he is starting to reconsider.

Around the third hour, the urge to tell everyone Santa is actually an old man named Slughorn wearing a rented suit and a fake beard kicked in, but so far, he has managed to resist it. His resolve might weaken within the next fifteen minutes though.

When the bright flash indicates that the little girl in the pigtails has had her picture taken, Regulus turns to the next person in line.

“Hi there!” Regulus calls out, eyes glued to the clock next to the gigantic Christmas tree. “I’m Santa’s helper, Regulus, and you are?”

“James,” a nice voice says. Low and smooth. Regulus looks away from the clock at that. The man, James, smiles when Regulus makes eye contact with him. Then, with a nod toward the little boy clutching his coat in a tiny fist, “And Harry.”

Harry waves at Regulus, his other hand still firmly holding on to James’ coat like his life depends on it.

“Welcome,” Regulus says warmly. He doesn’t even have to pretend too hard to sound nice this time around. “Looks like you’ve been nice this year! I can always tell.” Harry nods his head furiously and Regulus shoots James a conspiratorial look, who simply raises an eyebrow at him in return.

“Go on, Harry," James says, nudging his son, "tell Santa what you want for Christmas.”

Harry turns to face Santa, his jaw set in determination, a little frown on his forehead. He nods once before marching up to the big plush seat. James’ eyes are fond as he looks at his son, lips twitching with a barely suppressed smile.

James turns to look at Regulus, still smiling, eyes flitting up to the pointy hat. In the meantime, Regulus’ eyes are cataloging James’ features. His brown eyes and dimpled smile. The horn-rimmed glasses that are slipping down his nose a little.

“Oh, wait, you have a—” James says, hand reaching for Regulus’ hair. He moves slowly enough that Regulus could move away if he wanted to.

He doesn't want to.

James’ hand lingers, fingers brushing against dark curls and Regulus suppresses a shiver.

“Sorry,” James says eventually, “fake snow.”

Regulus clears his throat, not trusting his voice to come out steady. “Thanks.”

“Sure thing. Hey, uh,” James glances over at Harry, carefully perched on Santa’s lap. “Not sure what Santa’s working hours are like, but maybe I can take you for a drink when you’re done?”

“I’m off at six.” The words tumble from his mouth unbidden, making him sound almost as eager as he’s feeling.

James smiles, bright and winning, when he says, “It’s a date.”

But before Regulus can reply, the flash goes off and James turns to retrieve Harry.

Bryce wouldn’t have tried to conceal his amusement, normally, but because it was the holidays, he tried... and failed.

Kaycee turned to him from the passenger seat. “I thought you were agnostic?”

“Well, Mr. Sarcastic-ism, can you try to avoid potholes? If my head hits this damn roof one more time, you’ll be responsible for the bills for my brain injury.”

“Brain injury?” he sassed, stopping what he was going to say when Kaycee clenched his hand with a stern glare.  

“Bryce... be nice.”

“But... but... Ah! You’re no fun since you started dating Ethan,” he protested. “I liked you better when you were all pent up and feisty.”

“Yeah, well, she sure ain’t pent up anymore,” Elijah laughed as Jackie gagged.

“Must we?”

“We mustn’t,” Bryce replied, “but apparently, Ethan and Kaycee must.”

“I knew I should have taken the bus!” Jackie groused.

Kaycee turned to her friend with a conciliatory grin. “Jackie, it’s an 18-minute walk to the mall from the bus stop... and it’s 24 degrees outside.”

“Right about now, enduring frostbite seems like a small price to avoid this ride.”

“That’s it,” Sienna smiled. “I know who will be the Grinch in our roomies holiday card.”

“Was that ever in doubt?” Bryce asked.

“LOOK! A SPOT!” Jackie hollered. “Please park so I can get out of this tin can.”

“I’m so excited to start shopping!” Sienna beamed. “I just love this time of year! The decorations, the music, Santa!”

“Be honest, Si,” Bryce asked with a twinkle in his eye. “You didn’t come to shop... you just want your picture taken with the big guy in the red suit, don’t you?”

“I plead the fifth!”

“Speaking of shopping, we’re splitting up inside, right?” Kaycee inquired. “I can’t buy gifts for any of you if you’re with me.”

“That’s so sweet,” Elijah declared. “But you could have just had my new Maserati delivered to me at the apartment.”

“On a resident’s budget? You’re lucky you get a Matchbox replica of a Maserati.”

“Kaycee, I don’t know why you subject yourself to this,” Jackie griped. “You have a rich boyfriend with a nice, expensive car. Why didn’t you just go shopping with him? You could have avoided these clowns and wouldn’t have to worry about run-in factor.”

“I’d have to worry about a different run-in factor,” Kaycee reminded. “Remember, we’re trying to keep the fact that we’re dating lowkey until I finish my residency. Something about us strolling through the mall together for Christmas shopping might tip some people off.”

“Yeah, especially since you get that doe-eyed look whenever he’s around,” Sienna teased.

“And Ethan gets that slightly less disgusted with the world look,” Elijah added. “I see Kaycee’s point. It would be a dead giveaway.”

“Really?” Kaycee laughed. “If we’re done mocking me... what do you say? Meet up at the food court in two hours?”

“Sounds good!” Sienna said, pulling the others away.

Kaycee had to admit that Sienna was right. It was impossible not to catch the holiday spirit as the scent of the pine tree decorations and the sounds of the season filled the air. Even the bustling crowds couldn't get her down. Being a resident unable to return home for the holidays was tough. Still, it was made much easier with her found family surrounding her, and this year, she also had Ethan. It was amazing how far they had come. Last year at this time, she was secretly pining for him. Overanalyzing every word, every glance in a desperate attempt to determine if he felt the same way about her or if she was losing her mind. This year was a different story. Sure, only their closest friends knew they were together, but they were together. That's what mattered.

“And all it took was me nearly dying,” she chuckled out loud.

“I’m sorry?” An elf handing out discount flyers inquired.

“Oh, nothing,” Kaycee blushed as she rushed away. Enough daydreaming; she had shopping to do!

An hour later, she was loaded down with bags overflowing with gifts for family and friends. But she had one gift left to buy. But what do you get the man who has everything he wants – which now even included her? His taste in Scotch exceeded the limits of her budget, and he refused to give her a gift list. “I know what a resident makes, and I don’t want you wasting your money on me.” As if she wasn’t going to buy him something. A sweater? Boring. A tie? He had dozens of those. Frustrated, she put the quest for Ethan’s gift off for another day and headed to Macy’s to buy some things she needed for herself.

She checked her watch after waiting in a long line to purchase a few pairs of sensible briefs for work. She had just enough time to get back to the food court to meet her friends. She was almost out of the intimate apparel department when something stopped her in her tracks.

“This is perfect!” she whispered as her fingers caressed the butter-soft red silk hanging before her. It wasn’t your standard, tacky holiday teddy... this was exquisite! Silk trimmed with scalloped red lace and a decadent velvet sash... “It’s perfect!” she muttered again. It didn’t matter what gift she was giving him, as long as she gave it to him wearing this he'd be elated!

Her hopes were momentarily dashed when she saw the price tag, but they were lifted again when she saw the 50% off sticker! SOLD! Sure, she’d have to wait in that long line again, but she imagined herself wearing this... and imagined Ethan’s reaction to her in it. Well, some things were simply worth being late for!

She rushed to get in the queue again, humming Santa Baby softly when a voice calling out made her blood go cold.

“Kaycee! Is that you?”

Please don’t let it be him! Please don’t let it be him! Please don’t let it be him! She said, turning slowly... it’s him!

“Naveen! Fancy meeting you here!”

“At the mall at Christmastime?” Naveen chuckled. “I find that I run into half of Boston here! At least half of Edenbrook.”

“Yes...” Kaycee squirmed “Bu... bu... but...”

“But?” He asked when she couldn’t get the words out.

“I just didn’t expect to see you in the women’s intimate apparel section of Macy’s?”

“Oh,” Naveen laughed, lifting up a bag. “I got Sarah in the hospital grab bag! She asked for fuzzy slippers, and they have the best ones here!”

“Oh, I... I see,” Kaycee stated, attempting to hide her sexy little garment when Naveen’s eyes fell upon it.

“Oh,” Naveen choked, turning as red as the teddy.

“It’s uhm... it’s a gift!” Kaycee sputtered, not telling a lie. After all, it was about to be Ethan’s favorite gift this year.

“It’s OK,” Naveen answered nervously. “I don’t need to know...”

“For my mother!” She blurted as Naveen’s brows shot to his hairline.

“Your... your mother?”

“Yes! No! I mean....Yes! She is going to a Christmas-themed... uh, Christmas-themed bridal shower! Yes! That’s it! She’s going to a Christmas-themed bridal shower .... for my cousin... Caroline! But she’s too shy to buy something like this herself, so, uh... I told her I’d get it.”

Naveen gave Kaycee the side eye.  He had spent a good deal of time with Rose MacClennan while Kaycee was hospitalized after the attack, and he didn’t have her pegged as the type of person who would be too embarrassed to buy a teddy, but then again, those were strange days. In any case, he wanted nothing more than to put Kaycee... and himself... out of their shared misery. So he politely ended the conversation and took his leave.

With the red teddy safely concealed in tissue paper and tucked in a pretty bag, Kaycee relayed her encounter to her friends.

“Oh my God, YOUR MOTHER!” Bryce laughed. “The best you could come up with was your MOTHER!?”

“Thanks for the support, Bryce!”

“Take it easy, MacClennan,” Jackie tried to reassure. “It’s a teddy, for fucks sake. It’s not like you were purchasing his and her sex toys!”

“JACKIE!”

“What!? Am I wrong?”

“No... I know it’s not the end of the world,” Kaycee started. “But Naveen is like Ethan’s second father... and would you want to run into your boyfriend's father while you’re buying a sexy red teddy?”

“OK, we see your point!” Elijah laughed.

“We see your point, but we haven’t seen the teddy!” Sienna winked. “Let’s see it!”

“Here? In the middle of the food court?”

“I think we should weigh in on your decision,” Bryce teased.

“Fine,” Kaycee blushed, pulling the item from the bag to her friend’s wolf-whistles.

“It’s beautiful! I approve!” Sienna grinned.

Bryce nodded. “And I’m confident Ethan will approve as well. Just ask Naveen!"

"Bryce!" Kaycee squealed, smacking her friend's arm. "Let me put this away before....”

“Kaycee? Is that you?”

earlier, you got a call since there was nobody available to be santa at the mall since they all either canceled or backed out. so you thought, why not have ur grumpy ass, foul-mouthed boyfriend be santa.

he stop abruptly and turns around, growling in annoyance. ”no means no” he said before walking towards the fridge, searching for something. you whine as you slump onto the kitchen counter.

“katsuki pleasee, maybe it’ll be fun” he scoffs as he takes out a beer and walks back towards the living room as you follow right behind.

“the hell is so fun about having a bunch of bratty kids to sit on my lap and take pictures that end up with the shittest quality?”

you hum, realizing he has a point but don’t give in. he nods in a sassy way as if saying “exactly” you groan, “katsuki just—please.” you think before perking up with a smirk.

“i’ll take you to that new restaurant down the street, i heard they have some spicy food down there..”

he sighs loudly before looking up at you with a knowing look.

here he is, at the mall. with a knock off santa outfit and a white beard on his face. he repeatedly scratches at the itchy fabric in annoyance. the line was already filled with excited kids and exhausted parents.

but within the first few minutes, he was regretting giving into your pleading and he was glaring at the kids because they kept giving him weird looks. “hah? the hell you staring at you fucking gremlin?!” he would rather put up with deku’s rambling for eternity then do this mall santa shit.

the cameramen has to continuously remind him to keep his foul language down because it could discourage customers but yk katsuki, stubborn as ever. “i don’t give a flying fuck, just tell them to fuck off if they don’t like my so called “inappropriate language”

he eventually got banned from being mall santa after he heard one of the kids say, “ mommy, is santa always that angry looking?” he heard another kid hum in agreement from the line, “right? are u sure he’s not the grinch disguised as santa mommy?” security literally had to drag him by his damn neck from lunging at the poor kids.

alright let's be fr under normal circumstances ghost would never have to do last-minute christmas shopping

he's simply too prepared for that

like he's coming up with lists in october, buying gifts in november, and has them wrapped early december

but for the sake of story let's just say that he has some last minute shopping to do for whatever reason

maybe all his gifts got blown up and he has amnesia so he can't remember anything

jk idk just pretend he's been busy or something

anyways

ghost always has a good idea of what he wants to get people for christmas

so the problem is rarely what to buy but where to buy it

usually he'll go to a plaza that has a bunch of shops so he can just visit each one and see if they have it

another nice thing about ghost is that his sheer size and signature death glare makes it so that he never has to fight with another person to get a gift

he's definitely traumatized more than a few shoppers who tried to grab the same thing as him

somehow though he manages to get everything on his list

even if it takes him all day to find it

alright so let's be real pretty much all of soap's christmas shopping is done last minute

he's a procrastinator what can i say

however after years of last minute panic soap has mastered how to get all his shopping done last minute

a few days before christmas he'll wake up early and then head to the mall

and pretty much just methodically work his way through each store until he finds something good for everyone

after he always rewards himself with a soft pretzel and gelato

it's a weird combo he knows but it's what he always bought at the mall as a kid and it brings him back

now soap doesn't necessarily have the intimidation powers of soap but he makes up for it by being ready to throw hands over gifts

besides it's not really like he has a backup plan

so because of this soap's gifts usually end up being those useful knick knacks that you always need but never remember to get

like can openers

he got everyone can openers one year

alright so if gaz has to go last minute shopping it's usually only for small things

like extra stocking stuffers, wrapping paper, tape, etc.

so thankfully there's usually not much riding on it so it's less stressful

gaz actually really enjoys shopping because he can pop in his earbuds, turn up his music, and just unwind for a bit as he walks through the aisles

off topic but he's definitely the guy to just wander around a target listening to music

he'll usually just make the trips as he needs to

but they're usually just to walmart or target so he can stock up on candy and supplies

he also likes getting some of those fancy ghirardelli chocolates to snack on while he wraps gifts

his parents raised him to be polite so if he does end up reaching for the same thing as another person he always lets them grab it

but if it's the last item in stock he definitely gets secretly annoyed at them for it

alright so in a weird way i feel like price is sorta like the grinch

not in a "i hate christmas" sorta way but an "i don't want to go into town" kinda way

he likes to spend his christmases in his cabin/on base and he doesn't like dealing with the rush of customers doing last minute shopping

but of course there comes times where he has no choice but to run to the store to get another gift or restock on wrapping paper

and during then price is on a mission to get in and out of there as fast as possible

mainly because one year he got stuck in line behind a total karen

and his ten minute trip turned into an hour long ordeal

so now to reduce the chances of that happening he tries to speedrun his shopping trips

that being said he is a gentleman at heart so if someone grabs the same item as him he'll let them have it

even though he'll secretly be annoyed at them because then he has to stay even longer to find another gift

alright so honestly i feel like alejandro is like ghost in that he tries not to get stuck doing last minute christmas shopping

he just doesn't like all the crowds and the lines

i mean he's not the most patient man in the world so it makes sense

he usually tries to keep his last minute gift buying to a minimum but if he does need to buy stuff he'll usually go to one store and get everyone things from there

think like home depot/a hardware store or maybe like a bath and body works

(they have a surprising amount of men's stuff okay)

that being said he usually knows what he wants to get each person from those stores

so if he comes to a point where him and someone else are reaching for the same thing he can sometimes get confrontational

it just depends tho

bc on one hand the gentleman in him is saying to let them have it but on the other hand he wants to get his friends a good gift

usually though he'll end up giving it up if it's like a woman or child

but with men he'll usually try to fight for it if it's really getting heated

i think he probably got a lot of his stuff done early but he wanted some extra things because he was worried his gifts weren't good enough

i feel like rudy's the kinda guy who goes really last minute and so a lot of things are going out of stock quickly

and so he is super duper stressed

mans is biting his nails and everything

definitely is racing throughout the stores to try and find everything he needs

and he simply will not be in a situation where someone grabs the same thing as him because if he sees someone in the same aisle as him he is sprinting and grabbing that thing asap

he really doesn't want to have to fight with someone else over it

especially before he knows he'd end up giving it to them

“Only If I can share your cabin.” Harry shuffled about, tucking the duvet between his legs, sweeping his hair up into a bun and securing it in a band. “I’m not being an accessory to murder and then still having to share with them two, no fucking way.”
