note: this is just precious mama nat who holds a special place in my heart
-⧗-
"Got your six, Natasha. Approach when ready." Nat heard the crackle over her intercom and readied her gun, her elbows locked as she pressed herself against the wall.
Never did she think she'd be back in this place. The one place she vowed never to come back to. But here she was. The coldness of the stone wall was seeping through her tactical suit, which wasn't adapted to support her through Russia's freezing temperatures.
But that was the last thing Natasha was thinking about. There were girls inside. Girls that needed help. Natasha knew all too well how they felt, and she wanted to put a stop to it.
Yelena was on the opposite side of the courtyard, double ponytails swishing back and forth as she kept checking her surroundings. The sisters made eye contact and nodded, Natasha taking that as her cue to move.
Silent as the dead of night, the redheaded assassin crept through the open door, sticking to the shadows like this very place had taught her. She didn't make a sound, taking down guards with a single slice to the throat, clean and precise. Fires shot in the distance and she knew she didn't have long.
But this place was once her home. She knew it like the back of her hand, as much as she hated to admit it. She knew who she wanted to meet for the final time, but a faint rumbling told her that that plan was gone.
"черт возьми." She muttered under her breath as her once careful footing now broke into a sprint. The team had estimated about 30 minutes for extraction, but that had been cut down to 10. There were more guards than the trio expected, but they powered through.
"I'm hitting the training rooms. Nat cover the wings and Yelena-"
"Doors, yes I know. Don't need to tell me солдат."
"Buck, you know she hates being bossed around." Natasha whispered as she climbed the stairs. She heard gunshots through Bucky's comm, but carried on. They could look after themselves.
The sight of the dorm corridor made Nat sick to her stomach. But she hauled herself together and ran along the hallway, checking the rooms. They were empty.
The sight of the tiny beds empty was a relief to her. Maybe they had stopped taking so many young children.
"I've got 15 in here Nat." Bucky called over the comm.
"Take them to the jet. I've got none so far." She checked all the dorm rooms, but there wasn't a trace of life. She thought the place was deserted until a faint whimper was heard, followed by desperate attempts to console.
It sounded like a baby's cry, so Nat placed her gun in her hostler. She didn't need to have her weapons out right now. The widow bites on her wrists would do enough for now to keep her protected.
There were 5 single cells along the back wall, and only one of them was dimly lit. Nat stepped into the light so she wouldn't shock anyone who was living in there. It seemed empty at first, but upon closer inspection Nat could see a young girl curled up in the corner.
Her blue eyes were locked on Nat, muscles tense as she pressed herself into the wall.
"Я ничего не делал, клянусь!" (i didn't do anything I swear). There were bruises on her temples and a hastily tied bandage on her arm and Nat just smiled softly.
"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." She crouched down outside the rails and offered her hand out slowly, like you would to a frightened puppy. But the girl just stared at Nat, her eyes narrowing.
"You are Black Widow." Her english was broken and laced with a heavy Russian accent. "You disgrace him."
Nat frowned at her words but shook her head. "No, I'm here to save you. I'm gonna get you out."
"Nobody take us anywhere." As she spoke, her arms loosened to show the tiny baby wrapped in a blanket in her arms. It couldn't have been more than 2 months old, but yet the girl only looked around 15. Natasha felt sick to her stomach. What kind of sick programme had they created?
"Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. How old are you?"
The girl stared at Nat for a few minutes before answering. "16."
"Блядь. (fuck)". Natasha sat back on her heels,
contemplating her next move. "And the baby? Ваш ребенок? (your baby?)". The girl nodded.
"Y/n." Nat raised an eyebrow. "меня зовут Y/n."
"That's a beautiful name. You want to get out of here?" The girl shook her head slowly, and Nat didn't blame here. This was all she knew. To her, it was home, as sick and twisted as it was. "You will be safe."
"Safe? You safe?"
Natasha nodded. "You're safe with me. You both are. But we need to go." As if on cue, the whole building began to shake and pieces of rubble fell from the ceiling. The girl screamed and buried her face in her daughter's blanket, holding her tightly. "Y/n, we need to go!" Nat blasted the padlock and the door swung open. "Now!"
"Can't!" The teenager gestured to her leg, which was openly bleeding. A gunshot wound was clean through her calf, and looked fairly fresh, meaning the girl struggled to walk. Nat registered it and brought her hand up to her comms, slowly to not startle the girl.
"Bucky I need backup. Quickly." After a grunt in reply, she quickly looked around the room to find something to help. But it was bare except for a bed and a sink.
Another vibration shook the building and Nat had no other option. She rushed over to the girl and helped her stand, taking the baby in her arm after reassuring the anxious teenager that she would be safe. The girl could hardly walk, but Nat couldn't carry her. Not with the baby too.
As a pair, they hobbled out onto what once was the hallway, now half broken in the middle and filled with rocks. Y/n was heavily leaning on Nat, pain shooting up her leg with every step.
A voice came yelling down the hallway, and through the dust broke Bucky, racing along trying to fit his gun back in it's holster. "What-"
"No questions. Move. Talk later. You need to carry her." Nat was clear and concise with her orders and she gestured to Y/n's leg, which was all Bucky needed.
But Y/n was wary of the new person and she grabbed Nat's arm in front of her. But the redhead turned to face her.
"Hey, it's okay. He is going to help you be safe." She looked into the girl's blue eyes, knowing they had very little time left to get out of here.
"Natasha, I don't know where you are but you better get out of here because this place is gonna blow!" Yelena yelled into her mic, cursing in Russian as she shot down guards.
"Y/n? Please?"
"если ты делаешь больно, детка, я делаю тебе больно! (If you hurt baby, I hurt you!)". Natasha nodded and carefully settled the baby in her arm. Y/n didn't take her eyes off the infant until Bucky picked her up and she felt the pain shoot through her leg. He mumbled an apology as they. began to run, dodging explosions and gunfires.
They broke through a gap in the wall and Y/n squeezed her eyes shut, not used to the blinding light of the sun on the snow.
Yelena was stood at the base of the Quinjet they had stolen from Stark, and as she saw her sister approaching she ran inside to start the engines. They lifted off the ground just as Nat managed to throw herself into a seat, the baby still safely in her arms.
They'd taken a bigger jet than the Avengers usually used, so the widow's Bucky had taken from the training room were in a separate area where they could sit comfortably together. But Nat had brought Y/n up to where she was sitting so she could look at her gunshot wound.
"мой ребенок! (my baby!)" Y/n cried out as soon as she was sitting, but Nat was already on it. She soothed the distressed girl and gently placed the baby in her outstretched arms.
The young girl may only have been 16, but she was a good mother. She calmed her child and an old Russian lullaby and gently stroked her head, kissing it softly. As she sat opposite, Nat couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when looking at the mother and daughter. As wrong as it was, she never had that opportunity, and she hated herself for it every day.
"Can I look at your leg?" The young girl nodded and stretched her leg out, wincing slightly. The bullet had gone straight through which made Nat's job easier. "Okay it just needs a few stitches. May I? This will hurt."
Y/n shrugged and pulled down the bandage on her arm. Bucky had to turn away at the sight of the DIY stitches that were 'holding' the wound closed. Nat took a sharp inhale of breath but kept her calm. That could be sorted out back at the compound.
Y/n didn't flinch once as the stitches were being put in. She kept her eyes glued to the baby, stroking her face softly as she hummed once more.
"Why don't you get some sleep?" Nat passed the girl a blanket and stepped back to give her some space. "I'll go check on the others." She said to Bucky, who nodded and went to sit at the controls with Yelena.
Y/n was exhausted but tried to keep her guard up. Her eyes darted around the small room, but it wasn't long before she couldn't fight sleep and her eyes began to close.
~~~
"Hey hey woah! It's okay! She's here. She's right here." Natasha was trying to defend herself against Y/n fists as the panicked teenager attacked her. Nat knew the baby wasn't safe just laying on the bed as the teenager slept, so she moved her to a makeshift cot. But Y/n woke up and freaked out.
"You touched her without my permission!" She screamed, swinging a fist at Nat who caught it just in time.
"Y/n, I was looking after her. You needed the rest." Nat held the struggling girl's fists in her hands and stood still, watching as she breathed hard. "It's okay. She's okay."
With a huff, Y/n pulled her hands away and scooped up her baby, cradling her close to her chest. "She needs feeding," she said bluntly.
"Okay. We don't have anything here but why don't you and I go out today and we can buy some supplies, including a cot for our room?" Natasha asked this more as a peace offering and the girl eyed her suspiciously before nodding.
"The other girls. Where are they?"
"Fury- our director has got new homes for them. Don't worry."
"And me? New home for me?"
Nat paused, thinking about her answer. The truth was, she didn't want to see Y/n leave. Not just yet. Something about the girl had reached out to her, and the slight possibility of having a daughter raced through her mind. Maybe this girl was her second chance, a chance to do something good again. "Well, we wanted to keep an eye on you and the baby. Seeing as she's so young."
Y/n just hummed in response before disappearing towards her room with a slight limp.
"You've got a feisty one there." Came a voice from behind Nat. She turned around to find Wanda snacking on a bowl of cereal, spoon halfway to her mouth.
"Yeah." Her reply was half hearted as she stared at where Y/n was last seen.
"Nat?" She turned to face Wanda once more. "I can hear your thoughts; they're really loud. And I'm gonna say go for it, but be careful. You know what you were like when you first came out. She's not much different than you, you know. Give her time."
Natasha smiled at her friend before grabbing a banana. "Thanks Wands."
~~~
Nat really listened to Wanda's words, which is why she called up the store before they left and asked to hire it out for the day. Stark had more than enough money to make that happen, and Nat wanted Y/n to be as comfortable as possible.
They entered through the back door, and only 2 members of staff were on each level of the huge department store. The bright lights and colourful items were enough to overwhelm Y/n anyway, as she held her baby close to her chest, still wrapped in the filthy blanket.
"You can pick whatever you want, okay?" Nat informed the teenager as they entered, but she didn't respond.
She wandered around, face stoic and eyes wide. Natasha could see the outline of a glock tucked into her jeans, but she didn't comment. Where she got it from was unclear, but it brought the girl a sense of comfort and Nat trusted her not to use it inappropriately.
Nat pointed a couple of bottles and baby clothes out, to which Y/n either shrugged or nodded. She was uncomfortable, but this trip was necessary.
"Okay, how about we look at cribs?"
"Our room?"
"Yeah if you want. But there's a nursery we can set up?"
Y/n thought for a minute. "But- no. Close to me."
"She will be close to you." Y/n looked skeptical. "Okay, how about this. We can get one for our room and one for hers, yeah?"
"Okay. But you don't leave no? No moving rooms?"
Natasha couldn't help but smile. "Honey, I'm not leaving. We can get you your own room if you want? For space?"
"No."
"Okay then."
They walked over to the cribs section and looked at the options. Y/n had relaxed a bit more as she considered the options, reaching her hand out to feel the wood. She'd never had the opportunity to make her own decisions before, and it felt foreign.
But within her focussed task, Natasha failed to notice the shop assistant approaching them, until a bright and cheery "Hi there! Can i help you?" broke through their thoughts.
Y/n immediately jumped behind Nat. Her hand would have reached for her gun if it wasn't so busy holding her baby and newly found protector.
"отойди! (stay back!)" Y/n yelled from behind Natasha, who held an arm in front of her. The assistant looked startled and held her hands up in surrender, taking a few steps back.
"Sorry. Could you give us a minute?" Nat apologised quickly and then turned to Y/n. "Hey, stop struggling." The girl unclenched her fist and placed it on her child's back. "That woman is not going to hurt you. Or your baby. You're safe."
"She stay away!" Y/n grunted through gritted teeth, chest heaving. Nat knew there was no winning this, so she placed her arm around the girl, who didn't flinch like she usually did.
"We don't need any assistance right now, thank you." The now shaken woman nodded and scurried away, not wanting to spend another moment around the assassins.
"We go? Now." Y/n stood her ground, staring Natasha directly in the eye.
"30 minutes. Then we go."
"Fine."
Nat rushed around the rest of the store, grabbing baby formula, clothes, cribs, clothes and tethers. She found a bouncer and play mat, even though the infant wasn't even sitting up yet. She grabbed some clothes for Y/n, some of which the teenager picked out, others that Nat knew she needed. The small girl was currently wearing one of Wanda's sweatshirts and a pair of jeans, both of which were too big. All of the items were sent directly to the compound, so they didn't have to carry anything home. And Natasha made sure to heftily tip the woman who had approached them before, as an apology.
Stark had restricted everyone's access except Nat and Wanda to the areas where Y/n was residing. The girl didn't trust men at all, and even with Wanda she was slightly wary.
But after the intense shopping trip, Y/N was exhausted. And her baby was restless, crying even after being fed and changed. The teenager was frustrated and tired, but she refused to hand the baby over to Nat, who offered many times.
But Natasha had another plan. She turned on a movie on the TV and let Y/n sit on the bed, shushing her child desperately.
"Why don't we try her new crib? Maybe she'll settle in there?"
Y/n looked over with heavy eyelids and reluctantly stood up. Her legs buckled slightly but she continued walking to place the baby in the crib. Nat handed her a pacifier but the teenager stared at her blankly, confused at the item she was holding.
"May I?" Nat asked, gesturing to the child.
"Careful." Y/n hissed.
Nat approached the infant and slotted the pacifier into her mouth, smiling at how her cried were instantly silenced.
"ведьма (witch)." Y/n mumbled, watching as her daughter fell asleep within the minute.
"Спасибо, дорогая. (Thank you darling.)" Nat quipped with a smirk as she watched the teenager climb back onto her bed. "Why don't you come onto mine? We can watch a movie?"
Y/N's eyes filled with fear. "Not Snow White. Please no."
Natasha pushed painful memories down and she shook her head. "Definitely not. I still can't watch it."
Y/n shrugged and hesitantly climbed onto Natasha's bed, sticking close to the edge nearest the crib. But Nat didn't comment. She was too busy trying to suppress her excitement over the improvements Y/n had made in such a short amount of time.
She put an episode of Friends on, knowing it was lighthearted and not likely to trigger any fresh memories that Y/n still had.
But she didn't need to worry. Within 10 minutes the teenager was fast asleep, her head resting on Nat's shoulder ever so slightly. The redhead didn't move. She couldn't. This girl was trusting her more and more. The improvement that had been made in a week was beyond anything Nat had ever expected. She paused the movie and switched off the main light, wrapping her arm gently around Y/n's shoulders.
~~~
(5 months later)
Y/n shot up in bed, chest heaving as she broke out of her nightmare. Her eyes automatically darted to the crib beside her bed... but it was empty.
"Mama! Mama! где мой малыш! (Where is my baby!)" She leaped out of bed and raced out of the room, looking everywhere as she ran to the corridor.
She kept yelling for Natasha, calls becoming more and more frantic the longer it went on. But Nat heard her and called back, summoning her into the kitchen.
"I can't find Talia! Someone must have taken h-" The teenager stopped in her tracks, not expecting what she saw infront of her.
Her 7 month old daughter, Talia, was sat in her high chair, eating yoghurt from the spoon that Nat was feeding her. There were berries scattered across the countertop and with every spoonful of yoghurt came a wipe to the mouth from Nat.
"Little miss over her was extra fussy this morning so I made breakfast. Thought you might want to sleep in a bit more."
Y/n breathed out a sigh of relief and leaned against the doorway for a second to catch her breath. "I thought she'd been taken!"
"Well, she just gets more Natty time, don't you little one?" Talia cooed in response, her tiny fists smushing a blackberry on her tray. "Oh you're a messy girl."
"Here Mama, I can clean her."
"Ah ah! I know what I'm doing." Wanda was sat on the other side of the counter eating a plate of pancakes, but she burst out laughing as Talia squished another berry and it squirted onto Nat's white shirt.
"Talia! No baby. Don't play with food." Y/n said, grabbing another wipe for Nat, who accepted it gracefully.
"Good morning Maximoff, Romanoff, Mini-Romanoff and.... Mini-Mini Romanoff." Tony made himself known as he entered the kitchen, Pepper not far behind him.
Over the last 5 months, Y/n had become more comfortable with the rest of the team, especially Tony who spoilt her rotten. He was forever ordering random items or adding updates to her room with Natasha, even without being asked.
"Good morning Stark." Y/n acknowledged him with a smile.
"Nice moves Grandma!" Tony teased as Nat danced around, wiggling her hips, causing her to pause. She grabbed Talia's soggy rabbit plushie that she had been chewing and hurled it at his head, which he only just managed to duck to avoid.
Talia giggled at the sight of her bunny flying through the air and everyone froze.
"Was that her first laugh?" Wanda asked, and Y/n grinned.
"My clever girl! Mama loves her clever girl!"Y/n picked her up from her high chair and held her up, peppering her face in kisses. Talia giggled even more, kicking her legs at the funny feeling.
Nat sank down onto a chair next to Wanda and watched her new daughter and granddaughter laughing together. Tony had given the child her bunny back, and was having fun playing peek-a-boo with her as Y/n held her.
"They've both done so well." Wanda commented as she watched the scene unfold.
"I'm so proud of her. I'm going to ask Fury for adoption papers today." Nat smiled as she felt Wanda's eyes on the side of her face.
"Really?" Wanda's voice was laced with excitement. "You're going to make it official?"
Nat nodded. "She will officially be Y/n Romanoff. My Y/n Romanoff."
Lost memory
Tumblr media
Y/N: 4 years old ——————————————————
NO ONE'S POV "Please, auntie Wanda, I want to see mommy" Y/N begs, hugging Wanda's legs tightly and looking up at her with the best puppy eyes she can do.
Y/N's been begging every single Avenger, one by one, to take her see her mommy. Natasha's last mission didn't go as planned and she got badly hurt. She even was in coma for the entire 3 weeks, but thankfully she's much better now.
Though there is one problem… Unfortunately, Natasha doesn't remember the last years of her life… more specifically, the last memory she has is from more than ten years ago when she escaped the Red room.
Y/N's been begging and crying everyday, wanting to see her mommy. She knows Natasha's here on the compound as she saw how Steve carried her mama to Bruce after the mission.
"Y/N/N" Wanda sighs, lifting Y/N up and sitting her on her hip. "Honey, I know you do, but your mommy needs to rest" She kisses the little girl's head, receiving a whine as Y/N buries her head into Wanda's neck.
"I want mommy" Y/N cries out into Wanda's neck, making Wanda sigh once again.
"I know, bubs, I know"
———
It took a few hours of begging, but Bruce and Doctor Cho agreed that they can't go on like this for much longer. Because the only one Natasha briefly remembers is Clint, he agreed that he'd be the one who tells the redhead about Y/N.
"How are you feeling?" Clint smiles at his best friend, sitting down on the bed.
"I'm fine, I don't know why I still have to be here" Natasha sighs, crossing her arms over chest. "Why are you here?"
"Can't I just come to see how's my friend doing?" Cling teases on which Natasha raises an eyebrow. "But yeah, I'm here to tell you something" He looks at the redhead, preparing himself to tell her about Y/N.
"Why are you looking at me like that? What is it? I feel like nothing can be worse than that I forgot the past 14 years of my life" Natasha sighs, waiting for Clint to speak.
"… We haven't really told you everything, Nat. There's something we left out, but we can't keep that from you anymore" Clint starts. "… You saved a little girl on a mission 3 years ago… She's spent here for about… 2 months and you decided to adopt her. She's 4 now and she's been begging us to take her to you. I know it's-"
"Wait. Wait. I adopted a child? Me?" Natasha asks shocked, not believing anything from what Clint has just said.
"Yeah, I-"
"Mama! Mama!" Y/N bursts into the room, Wanda running after her.
"I'm sorry, I turned around for 2 seconds and she was gone" Wanda explains with a sigh.
"Mama, I missed you!" The tiny girl says, attempting to climb the bed. "Mama" A whine escapes Y/N's lips after another failed attempt of climbing the bed as it's too high for her, holding her arms up for Natasha who's just staring at her shocked.
Wanda's quick to lift Y/N up, sitting her on her hip and holding her tightly as Y/N's trying to wiggle out of her arms and reaching her tiny arms for Natasha.
"N-no, no, I can't" Natasha panics, shaking her head.
"Calm down, Nat" Clint moves closer, trying to comfort his best friend. "Take her out, Wanda" He orders, Wanda nodding immediately.
"Want mommy! Mama!" Y/N cries loudly, kicking her legs and trying to wiggle out of Wanda's arms while the witch is carrying her out of the room again.
———
A few days have passed since Natasha found out about Y/N and she still doesn't know how to feel about that. And now when she's finally allowed to leave the bed and get back to normal life, it seems even scarier.
Y/N, on the other hand, has been crying nonstop through the days. She just wants her mommy and everyone's been keeping her away again.
"Mama!" Y/N grins once she sees Natasha step into the kitchen, immediately jumping off of the chair and running to the redhead, crashing her little body into Natasha's legs.
"Oh, hi" Natasha says akwardly, carefully peeling the little girl off of herself.
It's not like she wouldn't want a child, but she just doesn't know how to take care of one. After all, she's never taken care of a child before… well, she doesn't remember it… so it's understandable that she's scared of it.
"Mama, I drew you lots of pictures. I'm gonna show you" Y/N informs, already running away for her drawings which makes Natasha let out a sigh of relief and she quickly makes herself something for breakfast.
"Hey, hm. You're Wanda, right?" Natasha asks, sitting down opposite the brunette who smiles and nods in response, so Natasha takes a deep breath before speaking again. "Clint told me you were the one who mostly took care of Y/N. I just… I just wanted to ask you if you could maybe take care of her for a bit more? At least a few more days please?" She asks, hoping to get a yes from the witch.
"Oh, of course. Y/N's such a sweetheart. If you need any help with her, I'll be happy to help you" Wanda smiles warmly on which Natasha lets out a sigh of relief, though the tiny footsteps that are approaching stress her out immediately.
"Look, mama! I have so many pictures for you!" Y/N informs, crawling on Natasha's lap which only makes Natasha panic. She has no idea how to hold the little girl, scared that if she wrapped her arms around her, her hold could be too strong and she'd hurt her. "This is you and me playing soccer, mama!" Y/N grins, pointing at the two figures on her picture before looking up at Natasha who only hums in response and gives the tiny girl an akward smile. "And this is us building a snowman!"
Of course Wanda senses Natasha's discomfort and calls her little niece to come sit back to her and to finish her breakfast which she's been eating before Natasha came in. Natasha mouths a 'thank you', shooting Wanda a smile before quickly finishing her own breakfast, disappearing into the gym without Y/N noticing.
"Where did mommy go, auntie Wanda?" Y/N asks after a while, looking around to find her mother.
"She needs to rest a lot, honey. We should leave her alone for a little bit" Wanda says with a sigh, already knowing this won't satisfy the tiny one.
Y/N pouts, jumping off of her chair, taking her drawings and running away, ignoring Wanda who's calling after her. She hasn't seen her mommy for weeks, she just wants to be with her. Why nobody understands?
The little girl enters Natasha's bedroom only to find it empty. There are ony two more places on the compound Natasha could be, so Y/N decides to check.
After not finding her mother in her office, Y/N ends up in the gym, smiling when she sees Natasha there.
"Mommy, you forgot the pictures!" Y/N informs, running to Natasha with her arms up. "Up! Mama! Up! Please!" The tiny girl pleads, jumping up and down in front of the redhead.
"Y/N, I… just put those drawings on the bench over there. I'll take them later, yeah?" Natasha says, trying her best to not hurt the little one's feelings.
Y/N nods, running away to put her drawings on the bench like Natasha wanted and then running back to her mama.
"Mommy, up please" Y/N requests, pulling out her best puppy eyes in hope to get some cuddles from the redhead.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't" Natasha nearly whispers, hoping the little girl would just go away.
"But mama please. I want some cuddles" Y/N repeats again, tears filling her little eyes.
"Y/N, I said no. Please go away" Natasha sighs, slowly losing her patience as the little child is still standing in front of her with her arms up.
"Mama, please" Y/N pleads.
"What is so hard to understand? I said no. Go away" Natasha orders sternly, her voice raised a little bit which makes Y/N run away and cry loudly.
Natasha lets out a sigh after Y/N's cries die down, squeezing her eyes shut. She didn't want to make Y/N cry.
About an hour later Natasha leaves the gym, picking up the drawings from Y/N on the way. She throws them on her bed as soon as she enters her room, deciding to look at them after a shower. She really feels bad for making the tiny one cry.
Fresh out of the shower Natasha sits on her bed, taking all of the papers Y/N gave her and looking at all of them. She can't help the smile that forms on her face while looking at those drawings.
She spots a few more pictures hanging her closet, so she stands up and goes to look. She hasn't noticed them before as Clint only showed her where her room is this morning.
Now feeling even worse Natasha walks around the compound with hope to find the little girl somewhere. And after what feels like stepping into 100 different rooms Natasha finally finds the tiny girl in what seems to be her bedroom, laying on her bed and cuddling to her teddy bear while sobbing.
"Hi there" Natasha says quietly, sitting down on the bed on which Y/N just turns around and buries her head into her pillow. "Can we talk?" "Hm-hm" Y/N shakes her head.
"… Are you mad at me?" Natasha asks, gently placing her hand on Y/N's back and giving it a rub.
"Yes, because you're being mean and don't want to give me cuddles" Y/N mumbles out with a pout, finally looking at her mother with her puffy eyes.
"Y/N, I… I'm sorry, okay? I didn't want to be mean to you, but I just don't remember you" Natasha sighs, tears forming in Y/N's eyes again at the not very nice tone Natasha used. "No, please don't cry. I'm sorry"
"But I want you to give me lots of cuddles and be nice to me, because you're my mama" Y/N cries out, burying her head into her pillow again which makes Natasha think about whether should she leave or not. She's never been in a situation like this. What should she do?
"I'm sorry, please just stop crying" Deciding to stay, Natasha desperately tries to calm down the little girl somehow, but rubbing her back just doesn't seem to be enough.
Though Y/N's tears don't stop. She just wants more comfort from her mommy, so she crawls over to Natasha, sitting on her lap, wrapping her tiny arms around her and burying her face into her mother's chest.
"I… okay" Natasha carefully wraps her arms around the tiny girl which finally makes Y/N calm down and the redhead smile as Y/N's hug brings her this really nice feeling she doesn't remember feeling before.
"Mama?" Y/N questions, lifting her head to look at Natasha who hums in response, smiling a little bit. "Did you look at my pictures?" She continues, finally being in her mommy's arms making her forget everything that happened just a few minutes ago on which Natasha lets out a chuckle.
"I did, they're very pretty, sweetheart" Natasha tells the tiny one, receiving a huge smile from the little girl before she cuddles up to her, making Natasha smile.
It will surely take a while until Natasha learns how to take care of Y/N and it will surely be hard, but now the redhead knows she wants to try and be a mother to the tiny girl. And there was only one thing that made her realize… a hug from her little girl.
WandaNat x adoptive!daughter!reader; Natasha Romanoff x Wanda Maximoff; Avengers x teen!f!reader
Request: And I do have something to request if you feel comfy doing it. Mom!Wanda and Mama!Nat with the reader as their daughter. Reader gets sick and tries to hide it and push through it but they end up fainting or something like that, cue to mama bears mothering her to health. (Idk if fainting can be considered a trigger but if it's for you, I'd gladly read the fic with whatever you have in mind.). [Request by @darkstar225]
Summary: You're sick but you have to hid it from your moms because you want to go in mission, unfortunatly for you and Sam everything don't go well.
Type: Fluff
Warning: maybe 'fucked up' use three time
--------
You awoke with a headache; it was unusual for you to become ill since gaining your powers. You didn't know if it was a bad thing, but you had to hide it; the next week, you'll go on a mission, but first you have to get your moms' approval. They said they would think about it if you managed to survive your training session. Easy, no? The rest of the day, your state was getting worse, but because you successfully hid it from an ex-assassin and a witch who could read your mind (even if she didn't do it without your consent), you could handle it a little longer.
The next day, otherwise, at the time you woke up, you thought you could die; if it was a cold, it was the worst you ever had. But you didn't really have the time to think about it; you checked your clock: 9 a.m., which meant you had one hour before the start of your training session. You decided to take a hot shower; it was helpful for the next 40 minutes. Today you were paired with Sam to upgrade your hand-to-hand combat skill. At first it was like usual, but suddenly your breath hurt your lungs. You stopped and tried to process what was happening, but Sam punched you in the face. It wasn't a strong punch; he restrained himself, but due to your poor condition, you fell on the training ground with your eyes closed; you were knocked out. When your body hit the ground, everyone in the room froze. There was silence until Sam kneeled next to you and asked, "Y/n? Y/n, are you all right?"
Obviously not, but you didn't mind that he couldn't think clearly. To be honest, no one could; the Falcon picked you up from the floor and ran to the med bay, followed by all the rest of the team.
"You're fucked up, Sam." Bucky said,
"I didn't do anything; we were training, and I just tried to punch her. "Usually, she'd dodge and hit me back," he defended himself.
"But now she's knocked out, and the only person with her was you. FRIDAY, could you please call doctor Cho?" Steve asked the A.I.
"It's done, Mr. Roger," the IA confirmed, but the hero couldn't respond before FRIDAY spoke again. "Mrs. Romanoff and Mrs. Maximoff are back."
There; he was fucked up. On their way to the kitchen, the two redheads found Helene, who was in a hurry and bumped into the shorter woman. "Sorry Natasha, I didn’t look where I was walking,” she apologized, and the Russian nodded.
“It’s okay, don’t worry, but you seem in a hurry, so we will not restrain you more.” She said and stepped aside to let the doctor resume her course. Wanda just had the time to put the bags on the counter when FRIDAY spoke.
“Mrs. Maximoff, Mrs. Romanoff, the doctor needs you in the infirmary right now.” The two women exchange a confused look before heading to where they were called. In front of the room, the witch felt a wave of fear and sadness, and she started to worry. Of course, Nat noticed and grabbed her hand before they walked into the room.
Their eyes widened when they saw you in the bed; they rushed to you before any of them could say anything Sam explained what’s happened. “How couldn’t you notice she was not like usual?” the Russian yelled at him, and nobody found the courage to defend him.
Wanda approached you and cupped your cheek. "Don't worry, dragă (darling), she's fine," the Sokovian assured her, and Helen spoke up.
"Don’t worry, Natasha I just got the results from the test, and it seems she just has a cold.” The doctor reassured her, and the ex-assassin seemed to be more calm. “She just needs to rest for a week. I’ll give you some medicine in case she needs it after she wakes up.” Everyone except your mothers left you after your mothers nodded.
After two hours, you awoke. You were surrounded by two worried redheads. “Hey, you.” you said softly.
“Hey, you.” Wanda said, and Natasha gave you a soft smile. “How are you feeling?” the witch asked you.
“Like I collided with a bus, but he was moving. But I think I'm okay," you said, looking around and raising your brows. "Where am I?" you inquired.
“In the infirmary,” the Black Widow said this time, “we were really worried about you when Sam told us what’s happened.”
You sighed “I’m sorry,” you said quietly.
“Since when?” Wanda asked, and her wife looked at her confused. “Since when have you been like this?” she added.
“Yesterday.” You admitted it shyly.
“Yesterday!?” the older woman loudly repeated, and you nodded. “Why did you hide it from us?” She inquired, a little concerned about her failure to notice it earlier.
You played with your fingers to try to erase your anxiety, “because you said you’d let me go with you if I finished the training session. And I wanted to make you proud of me, and show you I was ready. So, I forced myself to not let you know and not think about it when I was near Mama.” You paused a moment, saying, "I'm sorry if it makes you worry," and some tears found their way into the corner of your eyes.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Nat cupped your cheek and brushed your tears with her thumb. “It’s okay; we’re a little worried, but it’s okay; we’re not mad or anything. You don’t have to cry, malyshka (baby girl)” their eyes were wet too.
You were about to speak again when a red whip lifted you. The scarlet magic tickled you “We can’t stay here, and you have to rest.” The witch said, and you laughed, “What is so funny?” She gave you a falsely curious look.
“It-haha…it’s tickling me.” You barely said and before you could notice she lend you on your bed. ‘Thank you,” you said, and they gave you a kiss on both cheeks before heading to the door. “Where are you going?’ you asked.
“We must cook you something. We’ll not let you like that.” Wanda said before they left the room. In the kitchen, everybody was waiting for the two women to give an update.
“How is our little fireball?” Tony asked.
“Much better,” Wanda replied, “she just needs rest. We put her in her bed, and we’ll cook something, so she’ll eat before sleeping again.” She explained, and after that, Natasha hit Sam’s head.
“What was that for?” he asked, a little scared.
“You hit our baby girl.” the Russian replied; “you’re lucky Wanda didn’t throw you away earlier,” she added, and the atmosphere changed. “And for the mission, I think we will let you go. We will stay with Y/n. I’ll text Fury.” She explained, nobody found any reason to argue; they know how much they love you, so it's obvious they’ll never let you alone in this condition.
You spent the next week in your bedroom, surrounded by your moms’ love; you couldn’t leave your bed without one of them following and making sure you were okay. Sam was not allowed to approach you for a month. It was pretty funny, and after that, he spent two months making sure you forgave him, even if you assured him it was not his fault.
This little incident proved how much they loved you, and of course you were glad even if you already knew that. You adored them just as much as they do.The world knew how scary the Black Widow and the Scarlet Witch were, and Sam could approve. But the world didn’t know how lovely and careful they could be, between them, of course, but twice as much with you.
The air seemed to still once you entered your home, your legs sore and beaten as well as your hair tangled and ratty. You make a feeble attempt to smooth your hair down in the mirror by the front door, anyone who knows you however could tell you were shaken. Your arms were scratched all the up to your elbows from when you shielded your face. Mama Nat always suggested that she teach you basic combat to which Mother Wanda always declined. They both wanted to give you a normal household, keeping their abilities to a minimum to ensure regular development. In hindsight as Wanda begins to feel your overwhelming emotions, she starts to doubt her decisions.
Quietly sitting in your room, changed into a shirt with long sleeves and pj shorts, you try to process everything. Why has it always been so hard? Why was it always you? What was wrong with you? When would you stop feeling like this? Would you stop feeling like this?
“Of course you will love.” That sweet voice that had always been there when the monsters felt too real, or when you fell and hurt your shins. Her red hair came into view and the smell of vanilla and everything sweet filled your senses. You’re old enough to know about their enhancements without babbling on to everyone. Of course sometimes you hated the mind reading, but when you couldn’t face up to reality like now, it was a godsend.
“Just mean kids, a bad day, long walk home… I’m okay.” Lying right in front of Wanda was a stupid decision for anyone who dared. So when her hands grabbed your wrist and pulled your sleeve back you simply trembled. No argument or excuses to be made once her eyes zeroed in on the damage done to her precious baby.
“Who the fuck layed hands on you?” A voice you grew to both fear and respect rang like alarms in your ears. Your eyes catching on Nat’s fierce emerald pair, dread filling your stomach.
“I fell on my shortcut thr-“
“Through the creek.”
“Through the creek.”
Clearly they were tired of you defending your assaulters, it was common now. You believed that if you stopped caring they’d pick on someone who would give a reaction. Now being halfway through the school year your Moms have decided otherwise.
“Is that why you cry after getting phone calls? Are they bothering you at home now?”
“I don’t know who makes the-“
“You know the group who’s capable, that’s enough for me.” Nat took a seat behind you, cleaning off the thin scratches with a warm damp towel. Wanda sat in silence, hearing your mind race a thousand miles an hour. Her fingers brushed over your legs as she began to notice bruises, both old and some still forming.
“Tell us what happened, you know I don’t like forcing this information out of you.”
“It’s really not that big of a deal.”
“I either hack into the accounts that contact you and find their addresses, Wanda reads your mind, or you can tell us what happened.” Nat’s voice was stern, you could hear it falter as she tried to remain gentle but she succumbed to her instincts.
“It was a group of people from my art class, the teacher really likes my art so everyone calls me a teacher's pet. It only got worse when they found out I’m adopted. Today was just out of nowhere, I didn’t know they were following me. They kicked at my legs and shoved me into the bushes. That's why there’s… so much.” You ended with a hushed voice, gesturing to the visible marks.
“Those children are just that, children. They’re far less intelligent than you, emotionally and intellectually, you are different and they don’t like that.” Wanda brushed hair out of your face in order to lock eyes with you, cementing every syllable that came out of her mouth.
“So don’t let them work you up this much kid, in a few years you’ll laugh at them because they’re stuck working in fast food places.” Nat rested her hand on your shoulder while offering you a kind smile. You loved these moments, relished in them to be exact. You felt safe within their presence because you knew they’d do anything to maintain your happiness.
“You’re right, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it like that before.”
“Sometimes you just get caught up in the moment, just know that we’re always here for you- and! We love you, always.”
“Always.” Nat added as she kissed your forehead before standing and heading towards the door.
“Now I made some really good cookies that should be ravished while they’re still warm.” The three of you smiled as you followed Nat into the kitchen, the evening following as normal. A snack, tv shows, dinner and a movie. Tonight however Natasha and Wanda spent a few minutes finding the parents of these kids to make sure you’d never have to deal with them again.
I know it’s really short however I thought it best to keep this as like a drabble/scenario. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this cute little work, I am hopeing to produce better pieces in the very near future! In the meantime please do not be afraid to send requests and look through my masterlist!
Relationship: MamaNat x 21 yr old Reader
Summary: Y/n's relationship isn't going as well as she planned. But just as she's going to talk to her mama about it, Nat goes on a mission, leaving Y/n to figure out what to do herself.
Word Count: 5417
Y/n's POV:
Although I didn't have the greatest of starts to life, I really got lucky in my teenage years. You see, I was sold by my parents to Hydra when I was a baby. I then spent 14 years of my life being experimented on. Unlike others in the programme, I wasn't treated as one of their own. Although I spent nearly my entire life there, I was very much treated like a prisoner. I was too valuable to them to lose.
Through my time in Hydra, I was given the power to manipulate the elements. I hated it. I struggled for control as the power was so strong. It would physically hurt in my younger years to even try and blow a gust of wind with it. I despised everything about them. My aim in life was to get to a point that I could get rid of them, never having to harm another person against my will again.
This became a possible reality when the Avengers stormed the base I was held in when I was 15. They never saw me as a monster and helped to train me properly to control my powers. I grew close to Nat and Bruce. Nat was very protective of me and became like a mother figure to me in the early days. I aspired to be just like her, being able to do good for the world. When I turned 16, she asked if she could adopt me, and we could be a family together.
It was the best day of my life. Tony helped to get it all done and I soon became Y/n Romanoff. When she adopted me, Nat was only 28 but it didn't matter. She treated me like a normal kid, helped me with schoolwork and was quick to scold me when I had my rebellious moments. Being her daughter is my greatest honour.
With Bruce, I loved spending time with him in his lab. I loved science and he was happy to teach me. I got to hang out and do so many cool things with him and Tony in the lab. It was great fun, and I couldn't believe that this was the life I now had. After all those years locked away, I had this amazing life. I had a family.
It was Bruce that I first talked to about wishing I could get rid of my powers. Unbeknownst to me, he started work the very next day to find out if it would be possible for me to live a life without them. It wasn't until I was 18 that he found a solution. It was a risky procedure but would guarantee that I would never have to live life feeling like a monster anymore.
Mama really wasn't happy at the thought of me going through such a risky procedure. She fought me on it, and we had a huge blow out from it. But when we calmed down and I explained to her exactly why I wanted to do it, she reluctantly agreed. Not that she really had a say as I was 18 and didn't need parental consent anymore.
Luckily, it all went perfectly, my powers were gone. It was weird at first, but I soon got used to it. I was never happier. That was until a year ago. When Mama and Wanda officially got together. I had never seen mama happier than when she was with Wanda. They were each other's missing piece and they fit perfectly together. I loved watching their relationship flourish. I teased mama a lot in the beginning. The usually unflappable black widow was stumbling over her words and blushing at the slightest compliment from Wanda.
Eventually, she got her shit together and asked her out on a date and they never looked back. The love the two of them have, is something you can only aspire to get yourself. It's pure and unconditional. Sure, they have their moments. They argue and disagree. But they always come back to each other stronger than ever.
That's why it was so hard when my own relationship turned sour. I met Aaron six months ago and he was the most sweet and loving man. At 21 he was my first proper boyfriend. It had been near impossible to date before. All the team had a view and were extremely protective.
I met Aaron at a local coffee shop. I had just had an argument with mama about a mission that Tony had asked me to go on. Since I gave up my powers, mama has always been worried about me going on missions. Even though she has trained me to be almost as good as she is. I was so frustrated, I stormed out and spent the afternoon in my favourite coffee shop.
Aaron saw me on my own and teary eyed. He asked to join me, and we talked for hours. It was really funny and caring too. We exchanged numbers and started to go on dates. He really swept me off my feet. I quickly found myself falling for him and decided to bring him home with me for my birthday meal.
I remember the moment he saw who my family was and the look in his eye. It was mixed with terror and awe. With each of them being fiercely protective, he had very intimidating handshakes and quiet threats about my safety. All of which he nodded to and promised he only ever planned to protect me and care for me.
Although most of the team ended up really liking him, mama and Wanda seemed harder to convince. "I just want what's best for my baby." Mama said to me after she had spent an hour grilling Aaron on everything and anything. Weirdly, Wanda was almost more protective. Her eyes would constantly be glowing red as she looked at him. At first, I thought she was reading his mind, but she promised she would never do that unless it was absolutely necessary. She confirmed that she was just making sure that he knew what he was dealing with if he fucked up.
Turns out, that regardless of earth's mightiest heroes threatening him, it didn't discourage Aaron from fucking up!
After my birthday, he started to change. At first it was the odd outburst. He would then profusely apologise for yelling at me and would be so sweet. It actually angers me how long I allowed this behaviour to go on for. Each time I would be fed up and promise I wouldn't take it anymore. But then the sweet and caring man that I had fallen in love with, would come back and treat me how he always had. It was like that side of him had a lock on me and I couldn't shake it.
Unfortunately, that man I loved become harder to find. The outbursts became worse until one day he hit me. The look of terror on his face as he did it, still sits with me. He regretted it with every fibre of his being. For weeks afterwards, he was the man I had remembered, and I genuinely thought that this was the turning points for him. That it was the shock he needed to realise what he was doing.
But once again, I was wrong. He was nicest when we were at the compound. It was like he needed to prove what an amazing guy he was. At first, I loved it, because I was with the sweet and caring guy again. But I soon realised that it was front. When we were at his place, he was slowly turning into a mentally abusive monster. So, I tried to keep him at the compound as often as I could. Not that he was always happy with that as we never had sex there. Something he'd always make up for when I was over at his.
The final straw for me was when he hit me for a second time. He was apologetic once again, but I stormed out. I had enough and I had to get out of this relationship. But I knew I needed help. I may be 22 but I need my mama. I rushed from Aaron's straight home to the compound, rushing through the building to find the person I needed most.
"Mama!" I shout as I see her leaving one of the meeting rooms. "Hi love. What's up?" She asks, still walking towards the elevator. "I really need your help and I wonder if we could talk?" I ask, my heart almost thumping out of my chest. There was a part of me that is terrified at how she's going to react. She didn't raise me to be weak like this. But here I am, allowing myself to be treated like shit by a guy I thought I loved.
"I'm so sorry honey, but I have to leave for a mission. But when I get back, how about we have a mama/daughter day. Just the two of us and we can talk about everything." She suggests. I sigh, hoping to have got this sorted today, but ultimately agree. "Ok mama. How long's the mission?" I ask, joining her in the elevator. "Should only be a week. Then you've got me all to yourself." She replies, pulling me into a hug. "Please be safe." I mumble into her neck, and she lets out a small chuckle. "Aren't I always?" She asks with a raised eyebrow. I quickly pull away and give her a 'you can't be serious' face. "Ok, but I've always come back to you." She adjusts her statement.
I stay with her whilst she gets ready and then join Wanda to see her off on the quinjet. Once the jet has left, Wanda wraps her arm around me and leads me back inside. "Want to watch a movie with me? Or does that boy of yours have your attention today?" She asks as we walk into the common room. I cringe a little at the mention of Aaron, but quickly shake it off. "Yeah, that would be nice."
We decide to watch one in hers and mama's room, raiding the kitchen of all the snack that we want. Whenever mama goes away on a mission without her, Wanda always struggles on the first day. She always worries that something is going to happen to her. Most of the time, we end up spending it together, helping each other with the worry that we have.
Wanda has quickly been becoming a second parental figure to me. She has always made the effort to engage with me, understanding that I'm the baggage that comes with mama. I love Wanda. Not just because she is perfect for Mama, but also because she genuinely cares for me too. I just wish I had the two of them in my life when I was a kid. I can just imagine the three of us living in a house out of the city, maybe them giving me a sibling.
Whilst we're watching the movie, my mind keeps wandering to Aaron and how I'm going to get out of this situation. I had hoped that mama would help me. Though I had planned to omit the physical stuff. She would kill him if she knew, and that's something I don't need. I just need to get out. But I only have to wait a week and she'll be back. I just need to avoid him until then.
"Are you ok sweetie?" Wanda questions, pulling me from my thoughts. I look at her and see a concerned look in her eyes. "Yeah, sorry. Just a little lost in thought on Mama's mission." I lie, not wanting Wanda to know what's going on. She frowns at me a little and I pray that she doesn't question it further. After a moment, she scootches closer to me and wraps me in a hug. "She'll be fine. She always is." She reassures me. And that's how we spend the rest of the evening. Cuddled up in her bed, watching movies and sitcoms.
Over the next few days, Aaron is frantically trying to get a hold of me. His texts and voicemails are apologetic, promising it'll never happen again. But I'm done now. I know that it's a lie and I can't stay in the relationship anymore. But the mistake I do make, is thinking that he will be in an agreeable mood to talk. I text him and tell him I'm on my way to his to talk. It's time that I end this.
"Y/n! Wait." Wanda calls after me as I get out of the elevator. "What's up Wands?" I reply and I notice her eyebrows furrowed. "Is everything ok? You've seemed a little off these last couple of days." She states, and I feel my heart rate increase, my head screaming that I should tell her what is happening. But I'm too embarrassed. "I'm ok. Just missing mama." I partially lie. I can tell she's not buying it so I start to move towards the door. "I'm heading over to Aaron's. But do you want to hang out when I'm back?" I ask, hoping the promise of a hang out will help to ease her own nerves. She nods and gives me a hug, then allows me to leave.
As soon as I walk through Aaron's door, he's pulling me into a hug, repeatedly apologising for what he had done. "Enough." I state firmly, wanting to show him that I'm strong. "I promise, I will never do it again. I will change. I will be the person you deserve." He begs, his hands still clinging to mine. "You promised me that the first time Aaron. But it did happen again. I just don't trust you." I tell him, seeing a flash of anger in his eyes. "Then let me earn that trust back. I can't lose you." His hands grip on mine tightens to a point it almost hurts. "Aaron. Please let go. You're hurting me." I request softly but he shakes his head. "Not until you promise that you won't leave me."
I try to pull my hands away, but he doesn't allow it. "Aaron. I'm not staying in this relationship. I genuinely am scared of where it is going. You've hit me twice and your attitude towards me has changed. You're no longer the caring man I met in the coffee shop." I gain confidence, knowing that I want nothing more than for this relationship to end.
"Well, why do you think that is. You've made me into this man Y/n. Maybe if you had been a better girlfriend, I would act like I do." At his words, I aggressively snatch my hands from his grip. "No. I am not at fault here for you hitting me. You're just proving my point. This is over Aaron. We are over." I state firmly, turning to leave as quickly as I can. But as soon as I reach the door, his hand slams it shut. "You're not going anywhere."
Nat's POV:
Something is definitely wrong with Y/n. The whole journey on the quinjet, I'm regretting not staying behind and talking with her. It seemed urgent and she was flustered. Add that to the fact she's been withdrawing over the last few weeks, my concern is growing rapidly. Just the other night whilst I was led with Wanda, I shared my fears.
We had just finished another episode of the Dick Van Dyke show, but I was distracted as my hand mindlessly stroked through Wanda's hair. "Your mind is elsewhere tonight Detka." Wanda observes, switching off the TV and turning to look at me. "I'm worried about Y/n." I share easily. I see Wanda's face flash with worry. "What's wrong with her?" She asks quickly and I smile for a moment at the love that she has for my daughter.
I love their relationship. It's been growing so much over the last few months. Wanda is desperate to become Y/n's second mom, even though she's only 10 years older than her. I genuinely can't wait for that to happen so we can be a proper family together. "I don't know. But haven't you noticed that she's more withdrawn lately? She's not got her usual confidence." I reply and watch for Wanda's response. "Now you say it, she isn't as happy as she has been. Do you think it's to do with Aaron?" She asks, a hint of distaste at the name.
We both have had our reservations about him, but neither of us can put a finger on why. All the times we've met him, he's been so lovely. He is very caring of Y/n and makes the effort with us all when he's in the compound. But there is just this nagging feeling that he's not all he seems. "I don't know. Maybe. I just don't like the idea of her needing help but being afraid to ask for it." I share my fears. I've always tried to be the mother that Y/n deserves. Someone she can talk to regardless of what's going on. I want her to feel safe and unjudged whilst she's with me. But something seems to be stopping her.
"Do you want me to go in her mind?" Wanda asks, but I quickly shake my head. "No! She would never forgive you and your relationship is one of the good things at the moment." I quickly shut down the idea. "Then we just have to be there for her." She comforts me.
But now, I'm on the quinjet, realising that I wasn't there for her when she needed me. She actually came to talk to me and I still came on this mission. Worried about my daughter I decide to message Wanda.
Nat: Hey, I hate that I left like I did. Y/n wanted to talk but I didn't have time. Please can you keep an eye on her over the next few days? I'll try and get this mission done as quickly as possible to come home to her.
Wanda: Of course detka. We're currently watching a movie together. Focus on your mission and I'll be here for Y/n.
I sigh in relief, knowing that she's already comforting Y/n. I know they always hang out when I first leave for a mission without them. But today, it gives me a bit more relief knowing that Y/n isn't alone.
After a few days, the mission is going well. I'll hopefully be home two days early, Clint, Steve and I just need to get this sorted and then I can be back home with my family.
Whilst having breakfast, my phone rings and I see Wanda's name appear. I smile and answer it. "Hi babe." I greet her but her concerned voice floods me with worry. "Nat, how quickly can you get home?" I don't respond straight away, panic rushing through me at what could be wrong. "Uh, I can try and leave now. What's up?" I ask, moving to the next room where Steve and Clint are. They both look at me but their smiles drop when they see my demeanour.
"This is going to sound strange, but I need you to trust me." She prefixes her next sentence. I quickly put my phone on speaker so the others can hear and save me explaining why I need to leave so rapidly. "Something is wrong with Y/n. More so than usual. She was really deflated this morning and her aura is just completely dark. I think something is wrong with Aaron and I'm about to go over there." She shares and I feel like my heart stops for a moment.
If Wanda feels that something is wrong, then it is. I've never known her to be wrong with something like  this. "I can be home in two hours. Don't go on your own." I tell her, looking at Steve and Clint who both nod. They know not to come between Y/n and I. "Quicker if I can override the quinjet's restrictions." I'm now running around grabbing my things whilst finishing up my conversation with Wanda.
"We've got this. Just focus on Y/n." Steve reassures me with a hand to my shoulder. I rush off and jump in the quinjet and set a course for home. Within 15 minutes I'm able to override the restrictions on the jet and my journey time is cut down to an hour. Though it might as well be 10 with the speed it feels like it's going. My anxiety is growing with every second. I should never have left her.
The moment the quinjet touches down I run out to greet Wanda who is ready and waiting to leave. We jump in my corvette and drive straight to Aaron's. "She's going to be fine." Wanda tries to comfort me, but I can tell by her own voice she doesn't believe it herself.
The car has barely stopped before Wanda is jumping out and running up the stairs to Aaron's apartment. I'm quickly behind her and I don't hesitate to kick the door down when I hear a cry of pain. The minute I see the scene in front of me, my whole body just freezes. My daughter is on the floor, barely conscious with the man that promised he only ever wanted to love her, beating her.
I completely fail her as I freeze. If I haven't failed her before this. How could I not see this? I'm a fucking spy! A deeper cry of pain pulls me out of my trance. I see Aaron in a heap on the floor, Wanda's red whisps dissipating. I rush over to Y/n, falling to my knees to cup her battered face in my hands. "Oh, my sweet baby." I whisper. "Stay awake for me ok. We're going to get you help." I plead with her as I can see her eyes struggling to stay open.
"I'll call Tony to get the medical wing ready and get Fury to send someone over to deal with that asshole." Wanda takes control of the situation, though I can see fear in her own face. "I'm so sorry baby. I should never have left for that mission." I fight back tears. I'm shocked when I see Y/n smile at me. "It's not your fault mama. I hid this from you for too long." She chokes out. "It hurts." She complains as a coughing fit takes over her body.
My heart stops when I see blood, indicating that she has a punctured lung. Her breathing starts to get laboured, and I look to Wanda with a pained look in my eyes. "Tony is on the way to take her back to the compound. Cho and Banner will be waiting." Wanda informs me, kneeling down next to me. She places a hand on my back and then one on Y/n's bruised cheek. "I should never have let you go." She mumbles.
Y/n tries to talk, but it's becoming too much. "It's ok. You don't need to say anything. Just stay awake with us until we can get you help." I plead with her. I can see the pain in her eyes, and it breaks my heart even further. Though that is soon replaced by anger when I hear grunting from behind us. The asshole has woken.
I quickly stand up and march my way over to him, pulling him to his feet and pinning him to the wall. "You're a fucking asshole. I told you to never hurt her." I shout at him before I punch him square in the nose. Anger takes over me and I start to throw punch after punch, wanting him to feel the same pain that Y/n is. "Nat, stop!" Wanda shouts, pulling me away from him and into her arms. "Y/n needs you and he is not worth it." She whispers in my ear.
I'm breathing heavily as I stare down the piece of shit in front of me. "He deserves to pay." I growl. "I know and he will. But go and be with our daughter." She instructs. My head snaps to her when I hear the words she just used. Our daughter. I slowly make my way over to Y/n and take her hand in mine again. Though my gaze wanders to Wanda as she picks Aaron up with her powers. "You are lucky that we have a semblance of control. Unlike you it seems. There is nothing I want more than to help my girlfriend in beating you to a pulp, but we are better than you. It doesn't mean that you're getting away with it. We'll still make sure your life is hell for what you've done. I promised you that you would pay if you hurt my daughter. I don't break my promises." Her words are laced with venom, and I can see the pure fear in Aaron's eyes.
But we don't have long to relish in at as the door slams open to Tony and Bucky rushing in. They both stop in their tracks as they see me bent over the beaten body of my daughter. She means so much to everyone in the team, seeing her like this is going to hurt them almost as much as it does me. "The jet's in the field opposite. Let's take her home. The Shield agents are outside to deal with that asshole." Tony lets us know, moving towards Y/n to assess her injuries. "You're ok baby spider. We're going to get you home now." He speaks gently to her, and I see her smile as she still tries to fight to stay awake.
The whole way home, I'm clinging to her hand. She lost consciousness within a few minutes of taking off, but Tony assured me she was in safe hands, and they would get her fixed up in no time. They rolled her straight to the medical centre when we landed, Wanda and I hot on their tails.
We waited outside, watching on through the window as the three of them worked on Y/n. Wanda held me as I broke down when we saw the extent of her injuries when they removed her shirt. What animal could do that to a person? It was hours before Bruce came out to talk to us. My heart was in my mouth as I waited to hear the damage. "How is she?" I rush out as he takes a seat opposite us. "She's lucky. She has four broken ribs. One of which punctured her lung, which we have managed to fix up. Her left collarbone is shattered, and she has a fracture to her left radius. We've controlled the mass internal bleeding but had to remove part of her spleen. She also has a fractured eye socket and broken nose as well as a small bleed on the brain. But we're confident that it will heal with medication and rest." He lists off her injuries.
I feel Wanda's grip tighten around me with every new injury. "Will she be, ok?" I ask, hoping that she's going to make a full recovery. "Over time, yes. She'll be in the medical wing for a week or two so we can monitor her head and internal injuries. If all goes well, it'll be physio for her broken bones." He answers and I let out a sigh of relief. "Can we see her?" Wanda asks almost desperately. "Of course. She's going to need all the support she can get." He says, moving to show us to her.
As soon as I'm in the room with her, I rush to her side and take the seat to her right. I take her hand in mine and place a kiss against it. "Oh, my sweet baby. I'm so sorry." I mumble through a cry. "This is torture seeing her like this. I just want to protect her with everything that I have." Wanda says, making me smile at the love she has for her. But I quickly remember that we're here because of me. "I should have stayed here Wands. I was already worried something was wrong and then she asked to talk with me." I ramble, getting lost in the pain of allowing this to happen to my daughter. "No. You're not in the wrong here Nat. You weren't to know. You were just doing your job." She quickly sets me straight. Not that I believe it.
"If anyone is to blame it's me. I knew something was wrong when she left for Aaron's, yet I let her go. If I had stopped her or at least gone with her, then I could have stopped this. She wouldn't be led in this bed." Wanda cries. I hate seeing her blame herself. "Neither of you are to blame." I scratchy voice puts us straight. Both Wanda and I's head shoot up to see Y/n smiling at us both. "Oh sweetheart. Thank God you're ok." I place a gentle kiss against her forehead as Wanda grabs a cup of water and a straw.
She holds it out and helps Y/n to drink it. "Thanks mom." She says, making Wanda short circuit. A wide smile grows on my face as a few tears escape Wanda's eye. "I should have called you that earlier, but I guess I was too scared." Y/n admits, which makes Wanda quickly lean down to wrap her in a careful hug. "Oh Y/n. I have seen you as my daughter for so long now. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you see me like a mom." She shares through tears.
"How are you feeling love?" I ask after they've had their moment. "A bit sore but just grateful the two of you go to me in time." She responds. "I'll go and grab Bruce so he can give you some pain meds." Wanda stands to leave, but Y/n stops her. "Please stay. I just want to be with you two for now." She pleads. Wanda nods and retakes her seat. "We're so sorry. Y/n. We should have done more." I say, hoping that she'll forgive us.
Turns out we don't need it. "It's not either of your fault. I mean that. I was too scared to admit what was happening and I never would have asked you to stay behind from a mission for me. The only person to blame is Aaron." She tells us both sternly, with no room for us to argue. "I just want to move on from this." She adds. "What can we do to help?" Wanda asks whilst my thumb is slowly rubbing circles over her bloodied knuckles, showing she put up a fight.
Y/n has a smirk on her face as she looks between us. "Get married." She states and it makes both Wanda and I choke on air. Y/n is looking very proud of herself as I meet Wanda's eyes. "I-I had hoped it would uh, be more romantic." I stumble over my words as Wanda's cheeks blush. "What's better than it happening in front of our daughter." Wanda gains some confidence as she speaks.
Y/n gives my hand a tug and nods her head to encourage me. "Ok. Wanda, will you marry me?" I ask shyly. Wanda stands up and comes to the other side of Y/n's bed. "I will always say yes." She responds, leaning down to capture my lips. It doesn't last though when we pull away quickly after hearing a squeal followed by a grunt of pain from Y/n. "What's wrong sweetheart?!" Wanda asks worriedly, looking over Y/n. "I'm ok. I just got a little too excited." She admits timidly.
We both laugh. "I'm getting Bruce this time." Wanda says firmly, earning a pout from both Y/n and I. "I'll be right back my loves." She smiles, giving me a peck and them placing a kiss on Y/n's forehead. We both watch her leave and then Y/n takes my hand. "I am so happy for you mama." She says with a bright smile. Though my heart constricts when I taken in the swollen eyes and bruises. "I gently run my finger over her cheek, and she winces slightly. "I'm ok Mama. I've got the best family behind me." She says, the optimistic girl I know and love returning. I am just so happy I could give her the family she deserves.
I saw you were talking about Wanda x daughter!reader ideas, and I just can’t get this out of my head.
What if reader is actually Nat’s daughter and Nat and Wanda start dating. Like just imagine all the super cute moments of them bonding…
-Wanda really likes her new girlfriend, but is a bit nervous getting to know her daughter.
-Wanda eventually asks them both on a date.
-Maybe Wanda even asks Nat if it would be ok to take R on a “date” one on one.
-Wanda becoming R’s best friend.
-R asking Nat when they can see Wanda.
-R wanting to be Wanda’s partner on game night.
-R getting super excited when Wanda picks her up from school one day.
-Wanda tucking R into bed.
-R asks Wanda to kiss an “owie” like Mama does.
-Wanda falling absolutely in love with this little girl.
-R wanting Wanda to move in so they can all be together.
-Of course there will be a misunderstandings and arguments because kids (and adults) have big feelings and people make mistakes, BUT there is always a teary conversation after where they apologize and listen to each other. Wanda always wanting R to know her feelings matter, and they are even closer by then end.
-The “I’m Sorry” ice cream date after a fight is always a plus too.
-Wanda helping R with homework.
-R wanting Wanda when she has a nightmare or feels sick.
-Wanda telling Nat that she loves R, possibly even more than she loves Nat.
-The first time R says “I love you” to Wanda.
-R asks Wanda to a “Mommy and Me” party/event.
-Wanda proposing to R when she proposes to Nat.
-R is Wanda’s maid of honor in the wedding.
-The first time R calls Wanda Mom or Mommy.
- The only thing on her letter to Santa is to be adopted by Wanda.
-R giving Wanda the best Mother’s Day presents.
-R getting upset when a bully tries to say she can’t have two moms.
-R going to Wanda with those awkward mom/daughter questions as she’s growing up.
-Wanda being the middle ground between R and Nat during teenage rebellion.
-Eventually when Y/n is all grown up(maybe even a new or soon-to-be mom herself), Wanda tells her the best decision she ever made was to be Reader’s mom.
… just… the possibilities are endless.
…and like obviously Nat is reader’s mom and they love each other SOOO much, but there is just something special about the bond R and Wanda share, and tbh Nat wouldn’t have it any other way
Ps sorry that ended up being super long 🤦🏻‍♀️ hope it sounds as good as it does in my head 😂
I love all these cute little ideas!!!
Imma keep these in mind when I sit down to work out the little AU xx
Blow out the Candles - Blackhill x Daughter!Reader
Hii! Could you write about teen who is nats kid, nat and maria have been together for some time and now maria wants to like adopt nats kid.
I hope you understand what I mean 😅 have a nice day ❣️
Also a post made:
I need a fic where Nat and Maria are together and teen reader is nats daughter and for her bday Maria wants to adopt her
Readers Age: 11 Years Old
Requests: Open
Summary: Maria, your mama’s girlfriend, doesn’t come to your birthday party due to work, the day after you hear a conversation between her and your mama that you don’t fully understand. Two days later you receive an envelope as your birthday present. And you couldn’t be happier.
@tynix I hope this is ok!
Tumblr media
You first met Maria Hill before the fall of SHIELD when you were around seven.
She was a nice woman, she was stern and strict, but she was nice.
She was your Mama's commander. And she was surprisingly great with kids, something that the majority of the SHIELD agents and officials couldn't wrap their heads around. Tony Stark's jaw dropped to the ground when he had seen her interacting with you and four of Clint Barton's children, Kate, Lila, Cooper and Nathaniel.
You never understood the 'Hardass Hill' nickname she was given.
When SHIELD fell and after your Mama had avoided prosecution for the files she had leaked life changed, but not for the worst, well not really.
It was hard to get used to. Instead of your mom having her own apartment she took Tony up on his offer to move to the tower. That was the best part.
You were introduced to so many new people, all of your mama's team mates became your uncles, even. You loved it at Avengers tower.
The original six Avengers weren't the only occupants of the tower, of course. There was Helen Cho, Nick Fury, Pepper Potts and most importantly Maria Hill.
You didn't know what it was about Maria that made you like her so much, you supposed it was just because she was so damn cool.
You would even argue that she was just as cool as your Mama. Which you would never say to her face, of course.
A few times a week while you were watching TV in the common room Maria would come in and sit down on the couch with you along with a bowl of pop corn. She would place it in between the two of you. Now looking back it was clearly an act to win you over, and it worked.
It was an unspoken tradition by this time. You supposed that you were both friends. That made you happy. You liked being friends with Maria.
After two or three months of that, your mama started to join in, she would sit in between the two of you with the popcorn on her lap. This made the two of you sit closer to her.
When you were all in the middle of the movie 'Up' you noticed they were both holding hands. You looked up at your Mama, and then over to Maria, and go gave them both the traditional Romanoff smirk. It seemed your Mama like Maria even more than you did.
It didn't take long for Maria and Natasha to finally tell you they were dating, and you couldn't have been happier.
Today was the day you turned eleven, and you wanted to spend the day with both your Mama and your Masha, but there was one problem.
Maria wasn't there.
You woke up bright an early, which sent Natasha's plans to make you breakfast in bed out the window.
"Mama?” You spoke softly as Natasha placed your blueberry pancakes in front of you on the kitchen island.
"Detka?" She replied as she took a seat beside you, placing her hand soothingly on your back as she did so.
"Where's Masha?"
"Masha feels bad she couldn't be here this morning, malysh. She had some really important work to do for Fury"
You nodded. "Will she be back for my party?"
Natasha spooned nutella onto your pancakes. "| don't know, but what I do know is that she'll definitely try"
You accepted that. "You're staying here, though. No working today? Since it's my birthday"
She leaned in and placed a kiss on your crown. "Not even if the battle of New York was to repeat itself this very second would I ever think of leaving you today"
You wrapped her arms around her neck and she pulled you onto her lap, you may be eleven but you would never be too old for moments like these.
 ︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Somehow your Mama had been convinced to allow Tony to plan your party (which was a surprise up until yesterday when Tony had excitedly let it slip)
It was a fun party (how could it not be Tony Stark had thrown it, he never spared expense on anything) an everyone had a great time, including yourself.
But there was just one thing missing, one thing Tony had failed to get but something he couldn't buy.
Masha.
You had kept telling yourself that she would show up, despite knowing that there was a possibility she wouldn't.
And it hurt a bit. But you were a big girl. You were 11.
You slept in your mama's bed with her that night. It had been early morning when she dragged you upstairs from the party when your eyes started to droop, you got dressed and hopped straight into her bed.
It wasn't unusual for the two of you to sleep in the same bed.
It was around six am when Maria arrived back to the apartment. She seemed exhausted, also.
But she tried not to wake you and your Mama as she got herself into sleep clothes.
But you were awake anyway. Some sort of hurt in your chest.
Maria got into bed on the other side of you, your back was to her, your hand was holding Natasha's.
She placed a firm kiss on the back of your head, afterwards going to pull your 'sleeping' form closer to her in what would have been a cuddle, but that was the last thing you wanted from her right now, she hadn't even wished you a happy birthday yesterday, hadn't asked Mama to pass on a messege and/or hadn't even left a card or anything.
You slowly slid away to escape her reach and wrapped yourself around your Mama, who pulled you closer to her, not understanding what was going on and wrapped her arms tightly around you.
You didn't see Maria's face, but for some reason you felt guilty and hoped that hadn't hurt her feelings too bad, you just wanted to prove a point
 ︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
The next morning when you woke up they were both gone, but the blanket had been pulled tightly over you.
You slowly got up, shivering as your feet touched the cold floor.
You walked quietly into the kitchen, with the thin blanket Natasha kept at the end of her bed around you.
"I really just don't understand why they keep fighting us on this! All they have to do is sign some stupid papers."
"I know but it's not simple, she's your daughter, Nat."
"I know but Y/N never wants to go to back Russia again. You know what happened to us there."
That perked your interest, they didn't seem to notice you at the door, so you hid behind it and listened.
"It's not that simple, she was born and... raised... in that country and she's still a minor. They still have a bit of control"
"Raised." Nat scoffed.
"Either way, very soon we'll get the turnout we want and her guardianship will be granted, and then we can have our own little family"
You put the pieces together in your mind because of that one sentence. Maria's words hitting far too close to home. You seemed to be misunderstanding.
"I think we could get a better trainer, too. She needs to know these things if-"
You stood at the door, eyes filling with tears and shaking slightly.
It was then Natasha noticed you.
"How's my eleven-year-old doi-"
"You're sending me back?!"
Natasha looked at Maria wide eyed and then back to you.
"What?"
"You're getting rid of me! You're sending me back to Russia! You're sending me back there! You don't want me anymore!" You cried.
Natasha almost jumped off her chair and raced in front of you.
"Y/N no no no no no!"
"You don't want me! Now that I'm older! They want me back there!!!!" You were breathing faster now, not really thinking clearly.
"Y/N stop it, we're having a miscommunication!"
Maria was making her way over to the two of you.
"No! You said you wanted to start your own little family! I heard you!" You cried, stepping back from the two women who were kneeling down to you, Natasha had her arms out. "You don't need me anymore! You don't want me anymore!"
“Sweetheart come here! Let me hug you, we all need to calm down!"
"No! You said that the guardianship would be granted! And you nodded! You're giving me back to Russia!"
"Bambina that's not what I meant." Maria said softly, "And even if it was, that's not how it works."
Natasha went to move closer to you. "Baby-"
“Now that you have your new life you don't want anything that reminds you of your old one, of there! That means you don't want me." You were spiralling now, your chest was closing in, it felt harder and harder to breath.
Natasha gasped, as if the very thought appalled her, but you didn't buy it, you weren't in the right state of mind.
"Y/N, you're the reason I got through all that! If it wasn't for you-"
"You're lying!"
"No, sweet pea, l'm not." Natasha put two hands on your shoulders, causing you to sob.
"Please don't send me back there Mama!"
Natasha's heart broke. "I don't wanna go back, they were bad."
It was Masha who picked you up and placed you on her lap.
The three of you sat on the floor of the kitchen at 10AM, and there was already a child who was hyperventilating uncontrollably and two adults who were both shook after the events.
Maria rubbed your back. Turning so you couldn't see the tears on Natasha's cheeks.
"I'm sorry I scared you" Maria murmured. "I could've worded that better."
You hiccuped and nodded. "t's ok, just don't send me back."
Maria gave you a squeeze. "Never."
 ︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
You were still startled an hour later. Natasha sat you on her lap while she sat in on the couch, you both watched Harry Potter.
You were both quiet.
"You're the best part of my life." Natasha told you. "Even the thought of not seeing you everyday, not having you with me, not having you safe and protected, it makes me sick, physically sick."
You nodded. "Я люблю вас."
Natasha smiled. "я тоже тебя люблю."
 ︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Two days later you sat at the kitchen island eating your cheerios, what happened a few days ago still fresh in your mind, neither Nat or Maria spoke about it, which you were thankful for.
Maria entered the kitchen with files in her had, a usual thing considering what she did for a living.
She sat across from you, pulling out the box of cornflakes.
"I'm sorry I was so busy, bubs."
You nodded. "It's ok. I get it."
"It's not ok. I didn't get you a card or even a present."
"That doesn't matter, Masha." You insisted.
Maria smiled at you knowingly and waved the envelope she entered with. "So I guess you don't want this?"
You went to say something but quickly shut your mouth, making Maria have to suppress a laugh.
You didn't want to make it too obvious. But boy you wanted that envelope.
"I wouldn't mind. You already got it which I'm thankful for."
Maria snorted. "Here."
You tried not to be too quick in grabbing the envelope, but you were almost positive you failed.
You ripped it open and pulled out the letter inside.
Although your eyes darted to Maria once they scanned the document.
"What does this mean?" You didn't know wether to believe this or not, it seemed to be too good to be true.
*It means that me, you and your mama will be a real, legal, little family. Just the three of us. But only if you want this."
You stared at Maria for a good thirty seconds, although you could feel her getting more and more nervous the more you stayed quiet.
"Is this what you were talking bout with Mama the other morning?"
Masha nodded. "it is, Bubba."
"So... when you said that you and Mama could have your own little family. You meant the three of us. Not just you and Mama."
"Exactly, sweetheart."
"So you don't wanna send me back?"
"Never in a million years."
You smiled. "Can I call you Mumma now, Masha?"
Maria grinned wildly. "Of course you can, my birthday girl.
The Family Grows
Natasha Romanoff x Female Reader
You and Natasha have been fostering two children. You have an important conversation with the oldest one
Note: It’s soft mama Nat. Enjoy!
Natasha Romanoff Masterlist 1, Natasha Romanoff Masterlist 2, Main Masterlist
“You just have to be the hottest mom at the park, huh?” You ask your wife as she stands and rocks your small daughter in her arms.
“I don’t try to be.” Natasha smirks at you and continues to rock Taylor until she falls asleep.
You and Natasha have a five year old daughter and also recently started fostering a twelve year old boy and his little baby sister. You hadn’t planned on fostering two children at once, but the opportunity arose and you and Nat jumped on it.
Your son told you he wanted to play soccer and you obliged easily.
“Let’s go Jack!” You cheer for your son as he runs across the field and kicks the ball into the goal.
“Yes!” Natasha cheers. “I taught him that move.”
“You’re the best, baby,” you tell her.
You watch with a smile as Jack celebrates with his teammates and also shoots a smile to the family. The final seconds tick on the clock and the team wins the finals.
Jack runs over to you and you give him a hug.
“Good job, bud! We’re so proud of you!” You tell him.
“Thanks! Did you see my goal?”
“Of course we did. I even got it on video,” Yelena pipes in like the proud aunt she is. You had forgotten she was at the park since she taken Ali to play on the swings.
“I did the move, Nat,” Jack boasts and Natasha gives him a proud hug.
His teammates call for him and he runs away to them.
“God, I love that kid,” Nat says as she watches him happily.
“I do too,” you admit.
You and Nat agreed before the kids arrived not to let yourselves get too attached in case you wouldn’t get the chance to adopt them. But the moment you laid eyes on the kids, you knew that would be impossible. You fell in love with them the very first day.
Jack comes running back to you and you can tell he’s about to ask you a question. You love how you’ve learned to read his facial expressions during the last few months.
“Can you come take a photo with me? They asked for parents,” Jack asks. You both nod happily.
Natasha hands Taylor to Yelena and you two go to take a photo with Jack.
“We’ll definitely have to put this one on the fridge,” Nat says when she sees the photo.
“Really?”
“Oh yeah. Front and center,” you say. Jack smiles at you and your heart swells.
You spend the rest of the day letting the kids run around outside at home as you and Natasha watch from the kitchen windows.
You tuck the little ones into bed early and make it to Jack’s room last. He’s admiring the MVP trophy he got today when you and Nat knock on his doorframe.
“Hey bud,” you greet him. “You ready for bed?”
He shrugs, but walks to his bed. Natasha walks to the bed and sits down at the end next to Jack.
“Are you okay?” She asks him.
“Yeah,” he replies.
“You know you can talk to us about anything, Jack. We’re here for you,” you jump in. You sit on the other side of him.
“It’s just- I’m scared of how much I love it here,” Jack admits.
“Oh baby,” you say.
“We love having you here,” Nat says. “Really. Jack, we care about you so much.”
“I know. And it just feels new and scary,” he admits.
“Yeah it can feel really scary to feel someone love you. Trust me I know what that’s like,” Natasha explains. You share a soft look with her. “But you deserve so much love and care. And I promise you we are going to do everything to keep you in our lives, Jack.”
“Can I call you guys Mom and Mama?”
“Of course. We’d love that, Jack,” you say.
“Let’s get you tucked in,” Natasha stands.
Jack shifts back and lays under the covers. You pull the covers up over him and each of you kiss his head.
“Goodnight Jack. We love you,” Natasha says.
“I love you, Mama. And you too, Mom,” he says with a smile.
“Love you, kiddo,” you say.
You two turn off his light and go to the living room to enjoy a movie. You rest against Natasha and she drops soft kisses to your neck and cheeks.
You’re certain at least one of your children will be back awake before the movie is over. But you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You set your bag down in one of the multiple seats, sitting in the seat beside it, right across from Natasha
"Hi mama" You say and she looks up from her paperwork briefly and gave you a quick smile
You look around the room, noticing she had been writing something on the glass walls that surrounded the both of you
"How was your day??" You ask curiously
"uh, good." She said trying not to lose her place on the file she was reading
"Nice, today at lunch this kid got in a fight with another kid and the first kid full on punched the-"
"Mhm." Natasha hummed loudly as she continued to read the file
You pout to yourself, usually your mom always would want to hear about your day at school, especially if it involved destructive physical contact
She suddenly stands, still reading the piece of paper and taking an Expo marker in her left hand, she goes to write something on glass wall
You looked around the room "hey mom?" "What" She says bringing her hand down from the glass
"What are you doing?" "I'm trying to work, Y/n. Don't you have homework or something you need to go and do?" She said turning around for a brief second
You shake your head "I finished it all in class, and I was wanting to hang out with you today, so I didn't ask anyone to come over."
"I can't. Not today, I have a lot of work, Y/n/n. I could use some peace and quiet actually, I'll see you at dinner, ok baby?" I nod and she immediately continues her work, not noticing how sad you really you
"Ok." You huff, grabbing your bag and go, not wanting to give her a hug right now, you walk out, but stop in the doorway and look back at her for a moment, taking a breath and then leave for your room
-----
Dinner
Everyone sat at the table, talking, and laughing, as you ate your food in peace, Wanda sitting on your right and a chattering Steve to your left
You ate waiting for your mother to come in and tell them to be quiet, scolding them as if they were children
They sure acted like it.
She never came in, and after you finish dinner, Wanda came to your side
"Where's Nat?"
"Probably working, yelled at me earlier about needing peace and quiet so I left."
Wanda looked at you and put an arm around your shoulder, "She'll come around,"
"I guess.." You commented quietly, looking at the ground
"She is probably stressed with all the work we have had." She gives you a side hug and goes off saying she'll see you in the morning
You thanked Wanda internally and went to find your mom
----
"Momm!" You almost yelled down the hall, the silence slowly getting to you, before it can you hear the sound of a chair backing out and faint footsteps
Mom
You run down the hall, slowing down near her office door and walk in the doorway
Natasha is standing scribbling something on the glass
"Mom?"
She pauses for a split second before continuing to write
You wait for her to finish, and as she sits back down you take a few steps closer
"Mom?"
"What." Her voice is harsh and you immediately tense up, especially when she shifts her gaze up towards you with anger and annoyance in her expression
You look down to calm your breathing
"I was just gonna sa- say that dinner is being put up and I thought you were gonna be at dinner, so if you want food while it's hot, it's out right now,"
You wipe the tears away with a harsh hand and keep your gaze away from her
"Not right now. I have to finish working." She goes back to making some piles of papers
"I know, I just wanted to tell you, cause then you'll get upset at me if I don't and, n-" You take a deep breath "now you don't have to get mad at me for trying to tell you dinner is ready so if you want some, and I'm not mad at you anymore, but Wanda was telling me yo-
"Y/N!" She could barely get your name out, her face was the same color as her hair and her furrowed brows, the sharp look in her eyes and the slight frown she had on was only making you more willing to let your tears go
You stood back, waiting for if there was gonna be more
"I need to do my work without you running your mouth, some quiet for once, maybe?!" She yelled at you, standing up
Your breathing quickened and your throat became dry, as you blinked, letting yourself be sad for once, you just turned, walking out of the room and crying to yourself till you got back to your bedroom's hallway
You pasted Steve's, Thor's, Y/n's and Sam's rooms before walking into your moms room, wrapping up in her covers, smelling her scent and quietly crying yourself to sleep
-----
[2:34 a.m.]
Natasha had finally finished her work, and got up satisfied with what she had accomplished, finally looked at the clocked and decided to go to bed immediately, after a cup of water
Her walk to the Kitchen was quiet, but the Kitchen itself was more lively than expected at 2:30 in the morning
Wanda sat at the table reading and Bucky was eating leftovers on the other end
"Wha are you doin up?" Bucky says with a bite in his mouth
"Likewise." Natasha walks over towards the cabinets, as Wanda closes her book from the counter
"You know, she just wants you to apologize.." Wanda sets her book on the cold marble and watches Natasha move to the sink
"What do you mean?" Wanda scuffs loudly and Natasha gives her a look, Wanda, bravely, challenges her with a look of her own
"What do you mean, how have you not come to your sense already??"
"I don't know what your talking about, Wanda." She took a sip of her drink looking at Wanda confused
"Y/n, she told me you needed quiet time, and she was upset about it, during dinner, she would constantly look to see if you were coming to make a plate, and she told me, you yelled her." Wanda searches your mother's eyes and finds nothing, nothing she can see anyway, Natasha was good at hiding her emotions
"I don't know if she is awake or not," Natasha sets the cup down abruptly and leaves, walking behind Bucky to get to the hall
-----
She passes your closed door, quickly, still holding a hand full of agent files, wanting to drop them off in her room.
She walks in, a night light stuck out from the wall, by her bed, snapping her eyes sharply towards her covers, noticing a lump in the middle.
Setting her files down on the desk near the door and putting her hair behind her ears she walks over, pulling the covers back, just enough to see you sleeping peacefully
She smiled at her little girl..
Leaning in to kiss your cheek, she can hear your slowed breathing, her guilt all of a sudden sets back in, as she notices her throat is dry and in need of water.
The bathroom sink will have to do.
She turns the light back out and its pitch black for a couple of seconds before her eyes adjust and sees the covers moving more than usual
"momm..." You whisper half asleep
Natasha walks over to the bed and you feel the right side dip under her weight, moving to get to her, you immediately become fully awake
"Hey," Natasha opens her arms and gets in next to you "hi." You say in a small voice
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you and ignore you, I promise bubs." She kisses your head for a long moment
You fall into her side "Your here now, momma.." You hug her, feeling sleep try to take over you again and it wins
"nighty night.." You say drifting off
"Good night, baby.."
Mission Gone Right (Request)
Warnings: A brief mention of the Red Room. Anymore let me know
Age: 12
Beth: 14
Word Count: 1,146
Requests: Closed
Summary: You and your older sister Beth are chosen to go on a mission with Steve and Natasha
Requested by: Wattpad user
Date: 11/08/2022
A/N: thank you so much for the request. I hope you like it :)
---⧗---
Natasha and Steve never thought that they would ever become parents. Because of Natasha's surgery or the fact that they're always working they just didn't have time for kids nor did they ever really want them but that all changed when they were assigned a very special mission.
Fury called Steve and told them that he has a mission for him and Natasha and they had to meet at SHIELD headquarters for final instructions
---⧗---
After Steve and Natasha were welcomed Fury took them into his office to tell them about the mission.
"For this mission, two young girls will be joining you so you will need to pretend that you are a loving family." Fury informed them
He handed them two files that contain information and a picture of both the girls. As Natasha studied the pictures it became clear to her that they were familiar to her
"I remember these two they were rescued from the Red Room." Natasha pointed out.
Suddenly the door opened and in walked Maria Hill followed by the same two girls that were in the picture.
Fury stood up and walked over to them. "This is Beth." Fury pointed to the older girl of the two. Beth had sandy hair and was taller and was appearing as very timid looking "And this is Y/N." He pointed at the other girl. Y/N was the complete opposite of her sister. She had brown hair and looked quite small despite her age and was appearing a lot more confident.
Just by looking at Y/N, Natasha could tell that she had spent if not all of her life stuck in the Red Room just by the way that she is standing and awaiting orders like nothing phased her anymore whereas Beth got to experience a life before it and still couldn't process all the horrors that she had seen.
After Fury had explained the mission it was time to go.
You and Beth followed Steve, Natasha and two other agents out to the QuinJet to begin your journey to France.
---⧗---
During the journey, you and Beth sat far away from Steve and Natasha as possible
"I can't believe that we were paired with them for the mission." You said to Beth in your native language which was Russian.
Beth sighed "How many times do I need to remind you Y/N you need to speak English and what's wrong with them any way they've been nothing but nice to us since we met them."
"The amount of bad stories I've heard about them says otherwise."
"Exactly Y/N you've heard stories just give them a chance."
"Fine." You mumbled under your breath.
The rest of the trip there was spent in uncomfortable silence.
---⧗---
When the four of you got to the hotel and finished unpacking Beth asked if everyone could go to the swimming pool which Steve and Natasha agreed too
it didn't take you long to really open up to them and start having fun.
Natasha was sitting on one of the sunbeds reading and when she looked up she couldn't help but smile at the sight
Steve held you in his arm and started gently rocking "Are you ready? Three, two, one." Then he threw you in the water.
When you swam back to the surface you couldn't stop laughing. "Again, again." You said swimming over to Steve then he picked you up and threw you into the water again.
Natasha checked her watch and it had just past 6 pm. "The first one out of the pool gets to decide where we get dinner." As soon as she said it she got the pleasure of watching the three of you wrestle each other on who would be the first one out.
---⧗---
You had won and you picked a small restaurant where the Eiffel tower could be seen from right outside the window.
Natasha listened to your and Beth's laughter and saw both your smiles and started thinking that maybe she did want a family after all so she made a silent promise to herself to make the most of the little time that she had left with you and Beth while she still can.
After dinner the four of you went for a stroll and they got you and Beth ice creams.
The walk got suddenly interrupted by a rain shower. Steve and Natasha grabbed your and Beth's hands and the four of you ran back to the hotel. luckily it wasn't far.
After everyone got changed into warm and dry pyjamas Steve started making hot chocolate for you and Beth and tea for Natasha.
While the hot drinks were getting made you found a pack of cards in one of the bedside table drawers.
After many card games were played and the hot drinks were drunk you started to get tired and laid down on the bed resting your head on Natasha's lap.
After Steve, Natasha and Beth quietly played a few more games together Natasha saw Beth yawn and took that as a sign that it was time for bed.
Beth cleaned up all the cards and Steve gently picked you up and placed you in the double bed that was in the other room.
Natasha pulled back the covers and Beth climbed inside
"Night, honey," Natasha said then she kissed her forehead and made sure that she was tucked in nice and tight.
Natasha then walked over to the other side and did the same with you. "Night sweetheart." She whispered.
"Night mom." You mumbled so quietly that Natasha only heard it because she was right beside you. A wide smile grew on her face and didn't leave all night. Even though she knew that it probably didn't mean anything but she couldn't stop thinking about it
---⧗---
The mission had come to an end and you and Beth were back at SHIELD housing accommodation. You both thought that it was the last that you were going to see of Steve and Natasha but you were wrong.
It started as them taking you and Beth out for activities now and then. They took you both out for meals, to the movies, bowling, zoos, museums, amusement parks, and tours around New York City none of which you've ever done till now.
---⧗---
It was Christmas day Steve and Natasha invited you and Beth to join them. One of the gifts that they gave you was an envelope that had yours and Beth's names on it. Beth let you be the one who opened it
Inside the envelope was the best gift that you and Beth, you especially, had ever received: adoption papers.
After being orphans for a long time you and Beth were more than grateful to have parents who love you so much and will do everything possible to keep you both safe.
Slipping Through My Fingers
Happy Mother’s Day! In honor of all of the amazing moms out there, I’m posting a fic with Natasha, who we all know would’ve been a great mom if she was given the chance! Love you, moms!
Warnings: all Russian words are from google translate, mentions of parties, slight cursing, sneaking out, mentions of robot attacks, hospitalization, mentioned car accidents, adopted reader (not said but implied cause of everything that happened to Nat), mentions of fighting, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x daughter reader
*not my gif*
Summary: Growing up is hard, especially when seen through the mothers prospective
A/N: I think this might have been my favorite thing that I’ve written so far- it was so much fun to make
Inspired by: Slipping Through My Fingers by the mamma mia cast
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
School bag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
“Mama! Mama!” Five year old you chanted as you ran around the SHIELD safe house that you and your adopted mother were currently living in.
Natasha walked out of the kitchen with a smile, bending down to your height, “What is it, Младенец?”
(Baby)
You looked up at her with a wide grin, “I’m going to school today!”
The older woman chuckled before scooping you up into her arms and walking back to the kitchen, “I know, Маленький человек, I’m the one who signed you up.”
(Little one)
Your mouth dropped into an ‘oh’ shape as you looked up at her with wide eyes, “You’re amazing!”
She smiled softly, booping your nose, “No, Младенец, that’s you.”
(Baby)
Natasha gently put you down on the counter and went to the fridge to grab your lunch box that had flowers printed on it, “Here you go. This is for your lunch.”
You nodded excitedly, quickly grabbing it from your mothers hands and hopped off the counter, “I’m going to get my backpack!” You called, running and exiting the room.
She chuckled again, watching her five year old leave with an adoring smile.
Waving goodbye with an absent minded smile
“Y/n!” Natasha called up the stairs, “He’s here!”
The sound of your tiny feet thudding on the ground and practically hurtling down the stairs were heard, causing the two people in the living room to chuckle.
“Uncle Steve!” You squealed, barreling yourself at the blond super soldier and hugging him.
He laughed lightly, not even a little phased by the force of the seven year old and quickly hugged you back, “Hey there.”
Nat smiled at the scene in front of her before clearing her throat slightly, “Okay, Малыш, it’s time for me to go.”
(Kiddo)
You gave her a small smile and wave, already diving into a conversation with your uncle about your most recent piece of art that you brought home, a small house with the sun in a corner.
The red headed lady smiled again before carefully and quietly slipping out of the door to go to work.
I watch her go with a surge of that well known sadness
“Are you sure you have everything?” Your mother asked you for the thousandth time.
“Да, мама, да.” You said with a slightly annoyed sigh.
(Yes, mom, yes)
She huffed slightly, “I’m just making sure.”
You sighed again, “I know, mama, I’m sorry.” You pulled her into an unexpected, but not unwelcomed, hug.
She hugged you back tightly, holding you until you loosened your grip slightly, letting her know that you were going to let go.
She held you at arms length and looked you in the eyes, “You remember what I taught you?”
You groaned, pushing her hands off your shoulders lightly, “Mom, I’m not going to need to fight anybody.”
Natasha put her hands up in surrender, “I'm just saying, you never know.” But the thought made her extremely nervous and feel sick to her stomach.
Now you looked her straight in the eye, “Mom, I'm going on an overnight school field trip with other thirteen year olds. It’s not like going to hang out with Uncle Tony for the weekend and get attacked by robots again.”
That was the main reason you weren’t allowed to be left alone with one of your uncles anymore.
She rolled her eyes childishly and crossed her arms with the same amount of energy, “I know that.”
You sighed yet again, bringing her back into a hug, “I’ll be back soon, mama.”
Natasha suddenly got a sense of deja vu, because she used to say the exact same thing to you whenever she would go on missions when you were younger.
With that, you turned on your heel and met up with your friends, climbing onto the bus that would bring you to your field trip destination.
The older woman felt a pang of sadness as she watched you walk away, back facing her.
And I have to sit down for a while
Natasha sat on a chair in a white room with her head in her hands, painfully aware of the colorless atmosphere.
The steady beeping coming from the machine next to her was the only thing keeping her sane in that moment, it was the only thing letting her know that you were still alive.
You were only fourteen, this shouldn’t be happening to you. You should be out at the mall with your friends right now, spending more money than your mother told you to and eating way too much junk food.
You should not be in a hospital bed, barely hanging onto life.
“Mama?”
Natasha had lost track of how long she had been there, two-three- six-days?
However long it was, she hadn’t gotten a single wink of sleep in that full time.
Your voice was hoarse and scratchy from the lack of use.
Her head snapped up and she was immediately by your side, kissing your face and bringing you into a gentle hug, “О, дорогая,” She rushed once she pulled away, “I’m so sorry.”
(Oh, honey)
“Why?” You asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
A single tear ran down her face, “I should never have let you get into that car. I should’ve known that someone would hit you-“
“Mama.” You cut her off as sternly as you could in your current state, “You could never have known. It’s not your fault.”
And with that, you fell back asleep and Natasha collapsed back into her chair.
The feeling that I’m losing her forever
Natasha let out another frustrated breath, checking her phone for what felt like the thousandth time in the last two minutes.
She had been about to go to bed and decided to go check on you like she would every once and a while.
When she had gotten into your room though, you were nowhere to be seen, and your window that was always locked, was unlocked, indicating that you had snuck out and left it open so you could hopefully climb back inside soundlessly.
After leaving at least one hundred voice mails and even more text messages, she was finally getting to the point where she was about to call the team, but then you climbed right back through your window just as the thought was crossing her mind.
Your eyes widened seeing your mother pacing your room, clearly not having been expecting her to be there.
You had turned your phone off, so you hadn’t seen or gotten any of her many, many messages.
You had snuck out a few times already, every fifteen year old does it, and each time you got in and out without her noticing.
You watched as she stopped pacing as soon as her eyes landed on you, and tried to mentally prepare yourself for what was to come.
“Where the hell have you been?” She seethed, marching up to you with the most deadly look you had ever seen her wear.
You rolled your eyes, “Out.”
You brushed right past her, ignoring the appalled look on her face.
“Out?” She hissed, “I have tried to contact you a thousand times, and all you have to say is, ‘out’?”
You shrugged, beginning to discard of your shoes, “Yeah, I guess.”
Your mother shook her head in disbelief, “Well you better have been saving an old lady’s cat from a tree because ‘out’ is not going to cut it.”
“What is the big deal?” You exploded, twisting around to face her, “Everybody does it!”
“I don’t care what everybody does!” She screamed back, “I only care what you do!”
You rolled your eyes and scoffed, “Whatever.” And then sulked out of the room, slamming your door behind you.
Natasha continued to stare at the spot you had just been seconds.
Where had she gone wrong?
And without really entering her world
Your mother reached up her hand and gently knocked on your door, waiting a couple of seconds before entering when she heard no shout of protest.
Her eyes landed on you, hunched over your desk, doing what she could only assume to be homework.
“Hey, Милая.” She greeted, after a moment's hesitation.
(Sweetie)
She watched as you scowled, not looking up as you continued to write on your paper, and sighed.
“Listen, n/n, maybe we should talk.” The redhead tried, leaning against the doorframe.
You slammed your hands on your desk, whipping around in your chair to glare harshly at her, “About what? The fact that you grounded me for sneaking out? For wanting to actually have fun with my life? Do you even blame me?”
Natasha stayed silent through your little rant, lips pursed together tightly, “I just didn’t know where you were. If you had just asked me-“
You cut her off, standing up abruptly, “You would have what? Actually let me go?” You scoffed, “We both know that you would never have let me go to that party.” When she didn’t respond you rolled your eyes and let out a humorless laugh, “Typical.”
And with that, you stormed out of your room just as you had done two days prior.
I’m glad whenever I can share her laughter
“Oh, come on.” Natasha groaned, handing over her nine of diamonds.
You grinned, accepting the card, “Why does it always seem like I win at this game?” You paused for a moment, pretending to think, before smiling again, “Oh, yeah! It’s because I always do!”
Your mother rolled her eyes and playfully mumbled, “Потому что ты маленький мошенник.”
(Because you’re a little cheater)
You fake gasped, placing a hand over your chest, “How dare you accuse your own daughter of cheating! I would never!”
“You used to cheat all the time!” Your mother insisted in amusement.
“Yeah well, I’m a mature sixteen year old.” You struck a silly pose, “Besides, I think I hear some jealousy in your voice.” You teased.
“Oh please,” she put her cards face found and leaned back, crossing her arms, “As if I’m jealous of my daughter cheating at a silly children’s game such as go fish.”
“Jealousy.” You said in a sing-song voice, laughing as you dodged the pillow your mother had thrown at you.
And pretty soon, the sound of your laughter was met with your mothers own as well.
That funny little girl
“Mama!” You called from the kitchen.
“Hmm?” She hummed back from the living room.
You giggled a little, trying to silence your laughter, “Come here!”
“Why?” She asked in slight suspicion.
“Please!” You begged like someone who was most definitely not sixteen.
She huffed, rolling her eyes slightly and making her way to the room that you were in.
“What is it-“ She cut herself off and came to a sudden halt when she caught a look at the sight in front of her.
You were up on the counter, doing a split handstand and a stack of pancakes stacked on each of your feet.
Your giggles finally slipped out and you tried not to let them throw you off balance.
Natasha gaped at you for a moment, “What are you- how did- huh?”
“I’m doing a pancake handstand!” You said between laughs as your mother continued looking at you in a mixture of expressions.
Slipping through my fingers all the time
“Okay,” you announced, entering the room with arms full of all sorts of stuff, “I have the treasure.”
Natasha looked up at you in amusement, “I told you, I’m fine.”
You shook your head stubbornly, “You are most certainly not fine! You broke your arm, mom.”
“I’ve broken it before, it’s okay.” She insisted, gesturing to her unnecessary- in her mind- sling.
You shushed her, “Just let it happen.”
You quickly plopped down next to her on the couch, handing her pillows and blankets, as well as all sorts of junk food.
Using the remote, you quickly flipped to the show that the two of you had begun watching together a couple weeks ago and pressed play.
After a couple of episodes, you were resting your head against your mothers uninjured arm with your eyelids drooping.
She looked down at you with soft features, kissing the crown of your head, “Thank you for this, sweetie.”
You hummed in return, before falling into a peaceful slumber.
I try to capture every minute, the feeling in it
“-and then she told me that she actually didn’t buy it at all!” You finished dramatically.
Natasha gasped, “She didn’t?”
You shook your head and Natasha breathed out in disbelief at the drama her daughter had just provided to her about what’s going on in the seventeen year olds school right now.
You both took a sip of your coffees as you looked around the small cafe that the two of you were sitting in.
It had been a half day for you and Natasha wasn’t away on a mission at the moment so she could be there with you and decided that the two of you would have a mother-daughter afternoon together.
“Come here.” She said, quickly reaching and taking her phone out, wrapping her arm around you and bringing you closer to her as she snapped a selfie of the two of you, both with huge, genuine grins upon your faces.
“Oh! Guess what else!” You immediately dove right back in to talk about who lied to who and all Natasha could do was look at you with a smile.
She wished she could freeze this moment in time forever.
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Your eyes were dropping with your head resting in your hand.
Your head rocked up and down, and back and forth, gently until your hand finally gave away and your head smacked right onto your kitchen table.
Natasha came sprinting into the room at the sudden loud sound, ready to fight off anyone who dared come near you, only to find you groaning and holding your nose.
She chuckled a little, “Still tired from studying all last night?” You nodded, groaning again. “Come on, honey.”
She walked over to you and gently grabbed your arm and began to lead you up the stairs, allowing you to lean on her for support.
Walking into your room, she quickly flicked on the lights and allowed you to lay down on your bed, tucking the covers around you as your eyes were already closed.
Just before she was going to walk out of the room, you mumbled, “Я люблю тебя, мама.”
(I love you, mama)
“I love you too, baby girl.”
And with that, she flicked off the lights and quietly exited your room.
Do I really see what’s in her mind, each time I think I’m close to knowing
“Why do you do this to me?” Natasha asked with a groan.
You shrugged, sporting a large grin on your face, “I thought you liked surprises.”
She glared at you, “You know that I don’t.”
You pretended to stop and think, “Really? After the thousands of times that you told me, I thought you were joking.”
She rolled her eyes, “Haha, very funny.”
The grin never left your face, “I think so.”
“Come on.” The older woman whined childishly, “Where are we going?”
Finally fed up with your mothers pestering, you let out a huff of annoyance and rolled your eyes, “You’ll see when we get there.”
Now that you were finally able to drive, you had wanted one of the first things that you did was take your mother to a surprise location, but of course you didn’t take into account, or just didn’t care, that the ex assassin did not like surprises.
Finally, you pulled into your destination, your grin magically reappearing as your mother looked the unknown area around in confusion, “What is this?” She turned to you, “Are you going to kill me now?” She asked, only half joking.
You shrugged, getting out of the car and beginning to walk away before you disappeared around a corner.
Natasha furrowed her eyebrows and quickly got out and jogged after you.
As soon as she rounded the corner, a chorus of voices yelled out, “Surprise!”
The woman jumped, getting into a fighting stance quickly before scanning her surroundings and realized that it was her team and daughter standing in a park next to ‘Happy Birthday’ balloons and a table with cake.
Natasha’s mouth dropped open in shock as you quickly rushed over and gave her a huge hug once her hands released their tight fists, “С днем рождения, мама.”
(Happy birthday, mama)
“Wh-how did-“ Nat stuttered, she didn’t think that anyone had remembered her birthday because she hated making a big deal out of it.
“Y/n organized all of this.” Bruce answered her unasked question.
She looked down at you in surprise, “You did?”
You nodded a little, looking up at her with a grin and she kissed the top of your head.
“Thank you, Мед.” She said softly so only you could hear.
(Honey)
“Okay,” Tony interrupted your moment, rubbing his hands together, “Cut the chit chat and let’s eat cake.”
Everyone laughed.
She keeps on growing
With a deep breath, Natasha stepped out of the car, following what you had done just seconds ago, and joined you on the sidewalk.
She watched as you looked over at all of the people and buildings with fear in your eyes.
“Hey,” She said in a soft voice, nudging you gently, “You finally made it.”
You looked over at her with tears in your eyes, “О, мама.” You sobbed, leaping into your mothers arms.
(Oh mama)
She shushed you softly, stroking your hair like she did when you were little, “It’s okay, you’re okay.” Though it seemed like she was trying to convince you of that, she was really just trying to convince herself of it.
“I-I can’t-“
“Yes,” She cut off your self doubt, “Ты можешь это сделать. I have so much faith in you, Малыш один.”
(You can do this) (Little one)
“But it’s college, I’m- I’m not ready for college!” You exclaimed, still holding your mother tightly.
She pulled away holding you at arms length with a small, ready smile on her face, “Yes, yes you are. You are ready for this.”
You hiccuped, “How do you know?”
“Because I know you.” She shook your arms a little, “And I know how amazing you are and how you can do anything that you set your mind to.”
You pulled away, smiling slightly, “Спасибо, мама.”
(Thank you, mom)
She barely managed a nod as she watched you pick up your bags and take a deep breath, sparing one more long glance at your mother, before walking away.
She watched you go with tears in her eyes.
. . .
monday started with a sore throat, but you ignored it thinking it would disappear on its own.
tuesday ended with a pounding headache and a bottle of tylenol by your bedside.
wednesday hit you with on and off waves of nausea, the night ending with you curled in a ball with your arms tucked into your side.
thursday you could hardly move out of your bed, but you trudged through it not wanting to worry about the consequences of not getting up.
the urge to fall in your mothers arms grew stronger every second you were awake. you'd been so stressed lately and she could tell. natasha tried to help in small ways as much as she could, but it only went so far when you were crammed day in and day out with work and school.
you had almost no time for yourself, let alone any time to spend with friends or hang around the house with your mom. it was no surprise natasha had no idea you were sick when you'd been leaving the house before she got up and coming home to her already asleep on the couch, clearly trying to stay up for your arrival.
friday though, was different.
natasha was up before you with breakfast ready on the kitchen table, something you typically didn't have time for before school.
"good morning." she greeted you with a warm smile on her face.
her red hair was tied back into a messy bun and you watched her for a quick second as she finished cleaning up her mess.
"morning." natasha was quick to raise her eyebrow at the sound of your voice.
"you okay?"
"mhm." you nodded, closing your eyes as you took a seat at the table. all you had to do was get through the next two days. that's it.
"you don't sound okay."
"i'm okay mom, promise." you mumbled, forcing yourself to take a bite of the food on your plate.
normally you'd be ecstatic that your mom made breakfast because she always made it well, but you didn't have the energy or the appetite to enjoy her cooking.
natasha watched as you shoved the food around on your plate and frowned. "i think you should stay home, you don't look too good sweetheart."
you were quick to shake your head in protest, "no mom i can't. i have school today and work after. i just have to wait until sunday and then i can rest."
"it won't kill you to call in, you know. i'm sure they'll understand. and you can always catch up on school, i'll help out with what i can." she tried to push.
"i said no." you snapped, despite that being the only thing you wanted to do.
"watch your tone," she warned. "and i'm not asking anymore, give me your keys."
"seriously? i have school-"
"and i'll call them and tell them you're absent."
"and work?" you huffed.
"it's a thursday night at a local craft store, they'll be fine. now hand me your keys."
"this is so stupid. i'm going to get behind and it's going to be all your fault." you rolled your eyes, shoving the keys in her direction before angrily getting up.
you didn't mean what you said to her. you were just so overwhelmed and tired, you couldn't control yourself when you snapped at her.
the next few hours were spent in your room. your muscles ached, your head was pounding and you felt like you were going to throw up any minute.
your only saving grace was the fact that your boss understood your situation and gave you the next couple of days off. now your mind was primarily focused on school and the work you were going to miss. it was only one day, but with AP classes it felt more like three days worth of work to catch up on.
natasha knocked on your door a little past noon with a bowl of soup. "here, it'll help your throat."
you didn't answer her out of guilt from earlier in the day, but when she left you didn't hesitate to turn over and try to provide some relief on your throat. plus it was good, natasha knew just the right seasonings to use that wouldn't bother your throat.
when you finished you tip-toed your way down the wooden floors of your hallway, careful not to make too much noise when you set the empty bowl in the sink.
before you could go back to your room you stopped to see your mom sitting on the couch, blanket wrapped around her body while she watched tv. she looked cozy, safe even.
it was because of that you went over to her, sneaking your way under the blanket and resting your head on her shoulder.
"i'm sorry mama." natasha snaked her arm around your back, gently guiding your body down so that you were laying on her stomach. her fingers found their way in your hair and began massaging the crown of your head in hopes of easing the headache she already knew you had.
"it's okay baby, i know you're sick." she reassured.
"i'm so stressed and i don't know what to do. and i'm so exhausted from everything, i barely have time for myself and i miss you and i can't-"
"hey, hey, shhh slow down. you're okay. take a deep breath for me." she rubbed her thumb over your cheek. "there you go sweetheart, you've got it."
when you managed to calm down a bit more natasha brought up the topic again.
"do you think dropping out of AP classes would help?"
"but what about college?" you mumbled softly. "i don't want to be a failure."
"you're anything but a failure, little lady. and most colleges don't care about AP classes anyway."
you sniffled, "they don't?"
"nope. it's mostly just a thing snobby kids use to boast about on their applications. you're only doing more work than necessary when it's not towards any kind of college credits." your mother confirmed.
"what about work?" natasha tilted her head, "can't you always adjust your availability? you don't have to work every single day of the week, especially not when you're still in high school. i don't like it when you're out so late every night anyway."
you nodded, "i missed spending time with you more than anything. i hate feeling this way."
natasha gave you a small squeeze, "i'm always here. we've got all the time in the world. now lets get you feeling better before we do anything else, okay? c'mon, i'll carry you to my room and we can watch a movie."
"mom i'm 17, you can't pick me up," you giggled as you hopped off the couch.
"you seem to forget that i have a serum running through my veins." she kissed the top of your head before picking you up and bringing you into her room.
you snuggled into her side, the feeling of sickness already starting to become less miserable.
everything would be okay as long as you had your mom around.
With the right person | Natasha Romanoff x Reader | Part 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Summary: Natasha and you had been dating a little over a year when she asked you to come with her to spend the weekend at the Barton’s. Seeing you with Clint’s kids, makes her want to talk to you about having kids.
Word count: 1.746
Warnings: nausea, pregnancy (r). Mostly just fluff.
A/n: I got carried away, I think this is the most words for a chapter I have ever done haha. Also for anyone looking through my search history it now probably looks like I'm pregnant... One more thing thank you to @yellowvxbes for giving me the idea to write a future part for this story and also giving me a little imagine to start me of with <3
Part 1 | Part 2
* Two years later *
You look at your wedding ring as you think back to the doctor’s appointment you had five days ago. You and Natasha wanted to have another child, a year and a half ago you had adopted your little Emily. You’re trying for your second child through IUI. Before you started the process your doctor had mentioned that the first few tries were most likely not going to result in you getting pregnant, that on average the third or fourth time were the most successful. Five days ago you had your third appointment, so you were very anxiously waiting until you could take a pregnancy test.
“Darling, can you come here? Emily had a bad dream” You hear you wife call out from you daughter’s bedroom. You run into the room and see Natasha holding your crying three year old. “Same one?” Natasha nods “Tony is lucky he’s out of town.”
A week ago you had celebrated Emily’s birthday at the compound. Cooper and Lila were talking about the Battle of New York and Emily wanted to know what that was. Tony offered to enlighten her. At the mention of aliens Emily’s eyes widened in fear. “Tony” Natasha snapped. “Oh, uhm right she’s just a kid” Tony mumbled before saying “don’t worry kid, the aliens aren’t here anymore. They’re hidden away.” After seeing the expression on Natasha’s face, Tony had quickly left the room.
Emily had nightmares about aliens hiding in her room ever since.
“Mommy?” Emily cries out. “Yes sweetheart, mommy’s here” you say while taking her from Natasha’s arms to hug her tight. You take her to your bedroom while Natasha investigates the room like she promised Emily. “All clear honey, no monsters hiding in your room” Nat says as she comes into your bedroom and kisses Emily’s forehead. “do you want me to check in here?” your wife asks as she sees Emily look at the walk in closet. With a small nod, Nat goes in full spy mode looking around the room and clearing spaces.
When she’s done you softly start singing “I’ve got the magic in me, every time I touch that track it turn into gold. Now everybody knows I’ve got the magic in me” while stroking the young girls hair. When she finally fell into a soft, peaceful sleep, you lay her down on the bed. Natasha tugs her in and kisses her forehead softly.
“You really do have the magic in you, I love you” Natasha says laying a hand on your side. “I love you too Nat, good night” You intertwine your fingers as you snuggle closer to Natasha, with little Emily in between you.
The next morning you are woken up by giggles. As you open your eyes you see little Emily trying to climb out of the bed. “Good morning sweetheart” you say as you pull her closer and hug her tight. You look over to your wife, who is still fast asleep next to you “how about we go make some breakfast for mama?”
About ten minutes later Natasha walks into the kitchen and stops to admire you from the doorway. She smiles at the sight of you and your daughter making pancake batter and giggling in your pajama’s. “Mama!” Emily squeals while running into her arms “good morning honey. It smells so good in here, what are you making?” she asked while kissing her forehead. “Pancakes” Emily says with a big smile.
“Good morning love” she greets you with a kiss on your cheek as you flip the first pancake.
The three of you have breakfast and then get ready for the day. You both had to go to work and since both of you worked at the Avengers compound Emily got to go with you. They added a little daycare for all personnel with kids.
Since you adopted Emily you decided to stop doing field work, instead you’re now one of the combat trainers. Natasha is still an Avenger, but she stopped doing missions where she had to be away from home for more than a week.
A couple hours into work you got a text from Natasha saying that she had to go on a mission later that day, but that she would come say bye before she left. Another few hours passed before Nat showed up at the training facility on the other side of the compound. “Hey babe, we’re about to take off” she says as she pulls you in for a hug. “I should be back on Sunday, I’ll meet you at the Barton’s?” she questions. You planned to spend the weekend at the Barton farm.
“Yes I’ll meet you there” you say as you kiss her goodbye “be safe, I love you Nat”. “Always and I love you too” and with another kiss she’s off.
When you’re done with work you go pick up your daughter. “What do you want for dinner?” you always let her choose what she wanted to eat the day Nat left on a mission. “uhm.. mac and cheese!” you smile at her excitement. “Okay kiddo, let’s go to the store and get some.”
The next morning you wake up feeling sick. You slowly get up but immediately feel the urge to puke, so you ran to the bathroom. You brushed your teeth and went to Ems room to take her downstairs for breakfast. You decide on some cereal, easy and simple. But after a few bites you stand up and ran over to the bathroom again. The feeling of nausea didn’t seem to be leaving, so you texted Yelena.
y/n: Can you come over? I need your help with Em.
Yelena: I’ll be there in ten. Wanda is coming too.
Shortly after you hear the front door unlock and you feel the tension in your shoulders leave, knowing there is someone to look after Emily.
In the living room Yelena is met with a worried looking Emily. “Hey kiddo, where’s mommy?” she asks as she lifts her up in her arms. “Auntie Lena, mommy’s sick” she points in your direction. “Okay, I’m going to help mommy, how about you go play with Auntie Wanda for a little.”
The girl loved playing with her little Avengers figures and loved it even more when Wanda made them fly for her. So that’s exactly what Wanda did.
Yelena finds you sitting on the floor next to the toilet. “Thank you for coming over Yel” you say with a small smile you managed to give. “Of course y/n, now tell me what’s going on. Can I do anything to help?”
“I just feel so nauseous and at the same time I have this weird craving for cheeseburgers at 9am” you say with a confused look on your face. Yelena looks you up and down “do you think you might be-“ before she can finish her sentence you grab her arm with your eyes wide “do you?”
“Only one way to find out right. I can get you some tests from the store if you want?”
---
Half an hour later you’re sitting on the couch with Wanda on your left and Yelena on the right with Emily in her lap. On the table in front of you the pregnancy test lays facing away from you. In your hand your phone is counting down the minutes until the test is done. You hold both Yelena’s and Wanda’s hands as you’re nervously awaiting the results.
Then the timer goes off, but you’re afraid to look, so you ask Wanda too. She leans forward and grabs the test. The outcome still faced away from you. Your eyes are locked on Wanda. A smile creeps up her face when she tells you the test is positive. Happy tears stream down your face as you slump back into Yelena, releasing all the tension you were holding.
Yelena hugged you tight while congratulation you. After Wanda gave you a hug as well, you turned to your daughter. “Remember when mama and I were telling you about maybe getting a little brother or sister? It’s going to take some time, but here in mommy’s tummy a little sibling is growing.” Emily places a hand on your stomach “in here?” she says while looking at stomach.
“Do you guys have plans this tonight or tomorrow? We’re going to the Barton’s and I want to tell Nat the news there and would love for you to be there.”
---
The four of you arrive at the Barton’s, when you’re done saying your hello’s you ask Laura if the two of you can have a moment while Yelena and Wanda hang out with the kids.
In the kitchen you start “I was wondering if you could make Emily a t-shirt, one like you made for Nathaniel to reveal his name.” Laura gets some juice boxes from the fridge “yeah of course, I still have all the stuff I would need upstairs. What you want it to say?”
“So I would like it to say Big sister” Laura’s jaw drops and she runs over to you. “are you serious? Oh I’m so happy for you! Does Nat know?” she says full of excitement while she’s hugging you.
“I found out this morning, so she doesn’t know yet. I was hoping you could make the shirt and Emily and I could tell her here tomorrow.”
You walk out to hand the kids the juice boxes while Laura goes to make the t-shirt. When Laura gets done she helps Emily put it on to see how it looks.
When she did you heard jet engines coming closer. You quickly grab Emily her jacket and put it on, zipping it up. In case it’s Nat and Clint coming back early.
It was, you hugged Natasha tight while greeting her. Emily runs in for a hug as well, when Natasha puts her down again she asks “Mama can you help take my jacket off?” just like you practiced.
Natasha kneels down to unzips the jacket and takes it off Emily, who is puffing out her chest to make sure her mama would see the shirt. Natasha reads the shirt and looks up at you. You nod with tears in your eyes. Natasha gets up and runs into your arms. You stay like that until both your faces are covered with tears. You put your foreheads together “I can’t believe in nine months Emily won’t be the baby anymore.” Natasha whispers.
Meeting The Family
Natasha Romanoff x Daughter!reader
Word Count: 1,113
Requested By: Anonymous
Pls pls pls do something for alexei, mileena, and yelena meeting nattys daughter
A/N: I love mom!nat and romanoff!reader! Please send in more stuff for them. Reader is about 12/13
Warnings: CONTAINS BLACK WIDOW SPOILERS
Tumblr media
It wasn’t Natasha’s first choice to leave you while she went to Budapest but she figured it was the safest option. Even with Secretary Ross looking all over for you two she’d rather have you stay in hiding than get caught because of her. She left you with Rick, her friend who had set up the safe house in Norway. Because you were left with him, you helped him get everything your mom had asked for.
One of the things she had asked for was a jet and while Rick had gotten something that had wings and a propeller, you weren’t sure if it would do the trick, “Can that thing even fly?” you asked him as he helped you into the ‘jet.’
“Yes I’m sure it can fly Y/n,” he said, handing you a headset, “Now come on, let’s not keep your mother waiting,” he motioned for you to sit in the passenger seat and you did, making sure the buckle was secure before you shot him a thumbs up. He took that as his signal to start up the engine and take off.
~~~~~
You touched down in a large, empty field. Apparently this is where your mom was meeting up with you two, along with someone she said could help take down the Red Room. You didn’t know the Red Room was still in operation. She always told you that she took care of it and no one there could hurt you. You never asked too many questions about that part of her life. Natasha wasn’t one to keep secrets from you about that part which is why she told you that you came from there. Right after Drekov was killed, she found you as a baby, and took you in. Since it was right after she turned to SHIELD, they let her keep you.
After waiting for a while, you heard footsteps coming through the woods and voices getting closer and closer. You stood up from your spot in the plane and went to the doorway. You watched your mom appear from the trees with another woman. She looked younger and had blonde hair. They seemed to be talking to each other, maybe even bickering but you couldn’t really hear what they were saying.
“Mama?” you called out. She stopped talking to the other woman and turned to you, a smile crept onto her face.
“Y/n,” she said.
“Who’s that?” the woman whispered to Natasha.
She turned to the other woman and whispered back, “She’s technically my kid. Adopted,” she explained.
By that time, you had reached both women and your mom pulled you into a hug. Even though it hadn’t been long since she last saw you, she still hated leaving you, “I have someone I want you to meet,” she said to you. You nodded as Natasha motioned to the blonde woman, “Y/n this is Yelena, my sister. You remember me telling you about her right?”
You nodded. Your mom had told you many stories about her childhood and they included Yelena a lot. You had always wanted to meet her but anytime you brought up the subject, your mom would brush it off, “Hi,” you said excitedly, going over to Yelena and hugging her.
Yelena seemed a bit taken aback by the sudden contact but she relaxed after a second and patted you on the top of the head gently, “She’s a hugger I see,” she said to your mom.
“Yeah she is,” your mom replied, “You get used to it.”
~~~~~
After the three of you reduced Alexei from prison, you were the one lucky enough to sit across from him in the back. You’ve heard your mom grumble about him here or there and if she didn’t like him, then neither would you.
“So how did a little thing like you wind up here?” he asked you through the headsets. You ignored him, deciding the landscape below was more interesting. You saw your mom in your peripheral vision look over at you before looking forward again.
Alexei seemed to notice this as well, “Oh I see,” he said. You and your mom both looked at him and shot him a confused look, “What? You think I can’t see the look a mother gives her child,” now he turned straight towards Natasha, “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about her. She’s just like you.”
“You do realize that she’s adopted right?” Yelena asked him, “Cause you know, the whole not having a uterus kind of makes it difficult to have a baby,” she said.
“Oh, well,” he turned to you, “That doesn’t matter. I have a granddaughter now,” he went to reach out for you but you turned and smacked his hand away.
“Don’t touch me,” you snapped.
“Okay,” Natasha said as she stood up from her seat, “Y/n,” she pulled you up from your seat gently and gave you hers so you wouldn’t have to be near him. She could sense he was just getting on your nerves and wanted to prevent you from blowing up at him. Last time something similar happened, it wasn’t pretty for the other guy.
Natasha took your place across from Alexei, “Where is the Red Room,” she asked him.
“I don’t know,” he responded.
Yelena scoffed before uttering a small “bullshit,” to herself.
“But I do know someone who does know,” Alexei added, “She’s outside of St. Petersburg.”
~~~~~
After what felt like days of walking, all thanks to Alexei and his thinking that you’d make it St. Petersburg, you finally reached a small house with pens out in front. Natasha kept you close to her but that wasn’t surprising. It was a habit of hers, always keeping you within arms reach.
The four of you were met with another woman, one who lowered her gun when she saw you all. She let you all inside but not without shooting you a curious glance.
The table was set and you all took your seats. Alexei was at the head of the table with your mom to his left and Melina, the woman from before, across from her. You were sitting next to Natasha and Yelena was across from you. Melina kept shooting glances at you until she finally put her fork down and looked at you, “I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name,” she said.
Before you had the chance to answer, Alexei spoke up through a mouthful of food, “Her name is Y/n. She’s our granddaughter.”
“Granddaughter?” Melina looked between you and Natasha, “But I thought-”
“Adopted,” you, Nat, and Yelena said at the same time.
“Right,” she replied, “Welcome to the family Y/n.”

If your requests are open, could you write a Wanda x Nat and Yelena x Reader? Maybe Nat and Yelena are taking their girlfriends to meet her parents?
Red Guardian (Yelena x Fem!Rogers!Reader; Wanda x Natasha)
Tumblr media
Wanda watches the movie, a popcorn bowl resting in her lap.
The witch’s eyes light up at a familiar knock on the door to the floor she shared with her girlfriend Natasha, her little sister Yelena, and Yelena’s girlfriend (Y/n).
(Y/n) leads the way through the doro, Yelena and Natasha bickering good-naturedly.
(Y/n) flops onto the couch beside Wanda.
“I suppose they’ve been like this the entire time?” Wanda asks knowingly.
Natasha and Yelena fix their eyes on both Wanda and (Y/n) as (Y/n) replies, “Was there ever any doubt?”
“Hey!” the two Black Widows shout, even though they didn’t look angry, but amused.
“Whatcha watchin’?” (Y/n) asks, stealing a handful of popcorn from Wanda’s bowl.
. . .
“Mama!” Yelena falls, leading (Y/n) into the house, Wanda and Natasha just behind them.
“Ahh Yelena, Natasha!” a voice booms and (Y/n) stops in her tracks, Wanda walking into her.
“Dad!” Yelena hugs her adopted father warmly.
But then, Alexi’s eyes fall on (Y/n). “The daughter of Captain America!” Alexi booms.
“Um, hi,” (Y/n) waves, looking slightly embarrassed.
“Alexi, leave the poor girl alone,” scolds an older woman.
But Alexi ignores his wife. “He talks about me, yes?” Alexi asks.
Yelena and Natasha exchange worried glances, but (Y/n) seemingly pulls from her embarrassed state, smiles charmingly, and replies, “Of course. You are the Red Guardian, after all.”
Alexi grins, fixing his gaze on Yelena. “Yelena, I like her. She’s a keeper.” Yelena grins, taking (Y/n)’s hand and entangling their fingers.
“Hello, Wanda,” hugs the redheaded witch, and then (Y/n) by way of greeting.
