MANAS ZYA
The repelling emotion was strong. It made each step difficult, as if the path to the shoreline had lengthened since yesterday. Still, something was different now. In the past, this emotion would have been final, freezing the limbs and branding Go Back into the mind, but now it was not so.
Maybe it was because of the Error.
Do not. Do not continue. The gravel of the path crunched and popped beneath the feet of the Matoran unit...of this unit...of me. My feet. Beneath my feet. The path rose over the last ridge, and beyond there was the sea. I could hear it. This too was different. Me, my, these new words. This sense of...self.
Do not. Do not look. Do not look upon the Error.
The Matoran unit trudged on. This unit trudged on. I trudged on, toward the place where the Error was.
The Error was Matoran. The odd one, whose name could not now be spoken. The one that had not joined in the labor. Six days or more, it seemed. That one--no...you...You had not joined in the labor, our labor. You had sat and looked out at the sea. Six days or more. Your eyes were different. Maybe they always had been.
Yesterday was when it happened. The Elder came down the hill to look upon the Kini Kofo, by the sea. The work was near complete, and the Elder had looked upon the work with a Good Face, had measured the angles with her staff.
Then the Elder looked up the shore and saw the odd Matoran--saw you--sitting, looking out at the sea with your different eyes. She looked upon you with a Bad Face, and the other units...we...We knew that it was time.
The Elder had spoken the words: Manas zya. Address the Error, Target the Error. Had spoken them not to anyone, but to the empty air. The Elder was the Elder, and the Elder’s words meant more than those of a Matoran. The air heard the words, and they went up and up and then He heard them, and He would know.
Would know to come fix things.
Go back. Do not look. The repelling emotion came again as I...as this unit...as the Matoran unit crested the rise. The Matoran unit wavered. It looked back down the path, back toward the village, where the others had retired at the end of the day. Go back. Go. Back.
The word for Error is Manas. Errors must be fixed. Soon it will happen, and it will be over. Soon. Go back, Matoran unit.
But...but the Matoran unit...but this unit...but...but I had known the Error. The odd Matoran. You. I had known you, though now I cannot say your name. You spoke to me in the evenings, when the clouds fell beneath the horizon and the stars burned into red night above the Silver Sea. You with your different eyes. You spoke with these new words, and they went into my ears and down into my mind, and now I...I was different too.
The repelling emotion stirred in me at this thought. The repelling emotion...Fear. If you were Error, then so was I. Your new words were fearful, for they were so new and so many, but it was a different kind of fear. A fear that thrilled and intrigued, and...and...and Do not
...and Do not look.
Do not look upon the Error.
At the top of rise, I turned and looked.
You sat by the sea, on the rock you had chosen. You were waiting, alone. You saw me, and your face showed the...the declining emotion. Sadness, you had called it. The Fear was still strong on me, but the Sadness was somehow stronger. I did not have to obey the Fear right now, not as before.
I went to you, quietly. It was almost night, and we talked together and shared the Sadness.
“Why did you not join in the labor? Six days or more. It was too much.”
“I don’t really know. I have these...feelings, bigger than I am, bigger than the labor, maybe. I am...I am an Error, I guess. I am...a Monster.”
“Monster?”
“It’s a new word.”
“I do not understand.”
“Neither do I. But it’s as the Elder said. Errors have to be fixed.”
“Yes, and the Elder’s words mean more than our words. Even your new words.”
“Yes they do. So it must be so.”
“I am...sad.”
“So am I.”
Then you looked upon me with a Good Face:
“But now I am less sad than before,” you said. “You have to go now. You must not remain. I am an Error. I am a Monster, and soon I’ll be gone. It must be so.”
“It must be so. Good...goodbye.”
“Goodbye?”
“A new word, I think.”
“It’s a good word. Please tell it to the others...for me.”
I turned and walked back up the path and left you alone by the sea. As I walked, the Fear did not rise--only the Sadness. When I reached the top of the hill, I stopped...this...this unit stopped. The Matoran unit stopped.
Do not.
Do not look.
Do not look upon the Error.
I looked back once more...
....And now you were not alone.
The great Thing squatted over you, framed against the sea, huge and black. Its treads scored the earth on either side, and the shape of its mighty claws was limned with evening light. I saw it only for a moment, standing above you, dripping with seawater. You, the Error. Its two eyes, white specks, flicked toward me for an instant, and the Fear came upon me like a tidal wave.
And I knew, as I stumbled down the hill into the darkness of the village and I knew as I staggered against the wooden fence and fell headlong in the gravel and I knew as I dragged myself away, away, away, away into the dark, into the dark hut into the darkness with the others, away away away, into the dark with the others where they hid, where they huddled, in the dark, in the safe place away from That.
I knew...that if Errors were Monsters, then the Error...the Manas...was not Matoran.
It was That Thing.
And I would tell it to the others.
For you.

Asteroids Related to the Mind, Body, and Soul - A Different Perspective of Your Self in Your Birth Chart
We all know the placements of our major planets and points and what aspects they make. But there are a few asteroids that may reflect your being in a way you hadn't seen before. Maybe you felt there was a layer missing from your astrological profile. Add these asteroids to see…
13954, 55555, 11051, 3349, 16, 2815, 23437, 390, 37452, 1488
Tumblr media
Born 13954
Named after Max Born, a German-Jewish physicist and mathematician
Can be read as born, as in birth
Could give context to where and how you were born, circumstances around your birth
I have mine conjunct North Node in Libra in the 3rd house. I have a feeling this is not so much about my own birth as it is about me having children. I think this only because there are a lot of other markers in my chart related to children and marriage.
DNA 55555
Named after DNA, our genetic instructions
Astrologically, could refer to your family, genetic traits, or anything that is passed down from one generation to the next
I have mine conjunct the Arabic lot for grandparents [ASC+Jupiter-House 2nd] in Sagittarius in 4th House. My grandmother’s Sun sign is in Sagittarius, and even though we don't know my grandfather's exact birthdate, it is either in Sagittarius or Capricorn. The 4th house has to do with the home, family, mother, etc., which matches since they are my maternal grandparents.
Racine 11051
Named after Jean Racine, a French author from the 1600s
Racine means root or origin in French
Could refer to genealogical roots, your home, ethnic origins, or anything that gives you feel a sense of familiarity
Mine is trine Patria 1347 (and Jupiter) and semi-sextile Saturn. Patria means native country or homeland. Saturn typically refers to male authority figures and fathers. I have always been interested in my family history and I ask my dad about it ALL THE TIME.
Tumblr media
[Your First and/or Last Name asteroid]
My last name asteroid is conjunct Nobel 6032. I wish! haha
Manas 3349
Named after Epic of Manas, a Kyrgyz epic poem
Can be read as manas meaning the mind that makes us different from animals in Sanskrit
Mine is quintile Soma 2815 (further down). An interesting connection between mind and body…It is also trine my Mercury and Uranus, planets associated with the mind, thought, and intellect.
Psyche 16
Named after Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul
Psyche refers to the human soul, mind, or spirit
Mine is trine Moon (Aquarius), sextile Venus (Aries), sextile POF (Leo), sextile Aura (Aries). These are mostly feminine planets, but all my feminine planets are in masculine signs. A mix between feminine and masculine ways of being? I'm overall a very feminine person, but emotionally, I process things in a more traditionally masculine way.
Tumblr media
Soma 2815
Named after Soma cube, a puzzle invented by Piet Hein, which in turn was named after the drug called soma featured in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Soma is also a word meaning the body of an organism
Mine is conjunct Alma 390 in Pisces in the 8th House. Although I am very Aquarian, I do have my Aquarius Sun very close to Pisces and my Mars is also in Pisces. These two planets are prominent and strong in my natal chart. Even if I am very Aquarian, I can see an underlying Pisces nature in me, supported by this Soma-Alma conjunction.
Sima 23437
Unknown name origin; discovered by Czech astronomer, Antonín Mrkos
Could have been named after Josef Šíma, a Czech modernist painter, but this is just my own guess. Please don’t quote me on this.
Sima means face and implies a beautiful face in Iranian and Turkish languages.
The only one out of the lot to aspect my ascendant but it’s a minor aspect (semi-square). 😕 Hopefully, this means something good about my face lol 😏
Tumblr media
Alma 390
Named after the Alma River in the Crimean Mountains
Alma is a popular name meaning apple in Crimean Tatar and in many other languages
But can also be read as alma meaning spirit and soul in Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, and kindness in Latin
As mentioned earlier, conjunct Soma.
Spirit 37452
Named after Spirit, the Mars Exploration Rover
Can be read as spirit meaning our soul and the intangible parts of ourselves
My Spirit is in Scorpio in the 3rd house trine Sun and Mars, both of which are prominent in my chart. Also, square Mercury, Uranus, and Neptune, another prominent configuration in my chart.
Aura 1488
Named after Aura River in Finland
Can be read as aura meaning the energy we give off and that surrounds us
Conjunct Venus in Aries 8th house, square Jupiter, quintile Neptune, and trine POF. Glad these planets are seen as fortunate and/or expansive. 😮‍💨 Do I give off a more happy-go-lucky vibe in person? 🤔
Tumblr media
NOTE: These asteroids can be interpreted in many different ways just like planets. If it doesn’t “make sense” to you, maybe the asteroid is supposed to be interpreted in a different way in your chart.
If one or more of these asteroids are prominent in your natal chart, it can affect synastry with another person too. For example, I have Alma conjunct Soma conjunct my Saturn in Pisces in the 8th House. Someone else with their personal planets in Pisces (especially in the same degree) might leave a greater impression on me or affect me deeply. Anything touching my Saturn will most likely also touch my Alma-Soma conjunction.
Real-life example: I just discovered an artist that I REALLY like. Been listening to their music on repeat every day, no breaks. It's getting insane 🥲😂 He has so many personal planets in Pisces and conjunct my Alma-Soma conjunction too. Not to mention there's also an Eros trine Psyche synastric aspect.
Tumblr media
Let me know what aspects and placements you guys find with these asteroids ☄️

~ All Hope Is Lost ~
"Get me the next ones!"
Montgomery Scott's heart almost jumped out of his chest when he heard the words. He knew that it would mean the end for many members of the crew. And perhaps for him too.
When the Enterprise had been attacked, crashed on the enemy planet and its crew captured by Krall and his henchmen, no one had realized just how bad it would end for them.
They had been locked up and one by one some of them had been taken away.
To where? None of them knew. They only knew that none of them ever came back. The last thing they heard from their comrades were pain-filled screams.
"No, let go of me! Please let go of me!"
The desperate shriek of one of his female engineers caught Scotty's attention.
Ensign Maria Stanson. A brilliant young lady in whom he had always had high hopes.
A big alien guy was pulling her roughly by the hair. When she tried to fight back, he slapped her hard across the face.
"Oi! Get yer filthy hands off her!"
Scotty couldn't and wouldn't hold back. He just wanted to beat up these monsters.
The alien's eyes met his and only a moment later Stanson was free and the cell in which the Scotsman was sitting was opened.
He took his chance immediately and lunged at the guy, who was probably far too strong, punching him in the face.
These bastards had friends of his on their conscience. What's more, they had destroyed his beautiful ship. If he could harm even one of these creatures, he would gladly do so.
Even if it wasn't good for his own health.
His counterpart grabbed his wrist as Scotty tried to strike again and only a second later a terrible cracking sound announced that the bones were broken.
The chief engineer gritted his teeth and tried his best not to scream out loud. He would not show any weakness now!
"Mr. Scott!"
He saw how a lot of the crew members stared at him with wide eyes in shock before the alien pulled him along.
"Keep fighting those bastards! Don't let them get ye down! Wait for the captain!"
If it was the last time he saw the crew, he wanted to give them hope at least once more. They would make it. At least some of them would.
He thought of Keenser. He hoped so much that the wee man would survive. He had always been such a good friend to him, even though they had often clashed.
He thought of Sulu and Uhura. They had been captured too, but he hadn't seen them for days. He just hoped they were all right.
Spock and the captain and Chekov. They had all escaped somehow, hadn't been captured. And Scotty believed that they were working on a plan to rescue the crew at this very moment. A Vulcan, a strong-willed young man and a Wunderkind - what could possibly go wrong?
Especially when they were supported by the most wonderful and intelligent doctor in the entire fleet.
Yes, Dr. McCoy had not been captured either. He was still out there somewhere and would try to save everyone.
Scotty swallowed hard at the thought of the doctor. He just wanted to see him again, wanted to have a drink with him and talk to him for hours.
Why had he never told him how he felt? Why had he never told the doctor how much he appreciated him and how much he wished there was more between them than friendship?
No. He would tell him. He would get his chance. For sure.
His captor took him to a strange room where two other crew members were standing.
Scotty's eyes widened. It was Lt. Hendorff and Nurse Chapel. Both were tied up with lots of cables and wires connected to a strange looking machine.
Scotty wheeled around when he heard the voice of the man responsible for all this.
Krall. That was the name he had used to introduce himself to his prisoners.
He was talking to his partner in a language the Scotsman didn't understand. Judging by the expression on his face, he was probably annoyed that it had taken a little longer.
"Lt. Commander Scott."
Scotty narrowed his eyes in irritation when Krall switched languages and addressed him directly.
He stretched his back and looked defiantly at Krall.
"Aye. That's me."
Even if he had no idea how his counterpart knew that.
"You know the ship best. So where is it? Where is the artifact?"
For a moment, Scotty had no idea what Krall was talking about, but then he remembered the Enterprise's last mission.
The strange object that Jim had brought with him. But... what was so special about it?
"I haven't the faintest idea. But I can tell ye one thing, even if I did know, I certainly wouldn't tell ye."
Scotty put all the hatred he felt at that moment into his gaze. He wanted Krall to know how much he loathed him.
For a while they just stared at each other, before Krall nodded and gestured to the cables.
His partner pushed Scotty forward roughly and only a short time later the engineer was as bound as Hendorff and Chapel. Both made unintelligible noises, gagged by the cables.
"The captain will come. He'll get us out of here."
Krall's cool laugh caused Scotty's gaze to wander back to him. The man who had just been whispering with his partner stood close in front of him, gripping some cables with his hand.
"Too late, Scott. My subjects have found him and the rest of your friends. They've just informed me of this. It's over."
Scotty's eyes widened and he shook his head.
No... no. That was... impossible. Jim was too clever. He would never let himself be caught. And neither would the others.
Krall put the cables around Scotty's mouth and gagged him in the same fashion as the others.
But the Scotsman didn't give up. He moved back and forth, trying to free himself somehow.
He would not give up. He would never surrender!
But one look into Krall's eyes told him that it was over. He was helpless. There was nothing he could do.
Then he heard voices approaching. They came closer and closer. And suddenly they were standing there.
Spock, Chekov, Kirk... and McCoy.
Tears filled Scotty's eyes at the sight of his friends. His family.
So it really was true. It was... over. They had lost.
"What the- let them go! Let my people go. Right now!"
It didn't matter what the captain said. Krall wouldn't listen to him.
"Where's the artifact, Kirk?"
Scotty knew. He knew Jim had hidden it. He knew Jim would protect it.
But the Scotsman would never hear the man's answer.
When Krall activated the machine and he felt all the life being sucked out of him, his eyes were fixed on McCoy, who watched in shock as his friends slowly and agonizingly died.
He would tell him the truth. In another life. For sure.

For the Manas and Mana-Ko, which Makuta do you think created them? Being an absolute brute force machine sounds very Icarax, but their obedience to their masters also reminds me of Antroz...
This is a great question! I haven't gotten one for quite some time, so thank you for such a fun puzzler to think over!
I'm actually going to have to credit their creation either to Kojol or to an unknown Makuta based on what little we know about them.
Manas
>Amphibious
>Powered up by heat
>Super Strong
>Love violence, even against each other
>Worked for the Makuta and Karzahni
Mana Ko
>Incredibly intelligent for a rahi, able to create mental shields
>Powerful, destructive, hair-trigger for anything that moves
>Secretly trained by The Order to work for them
While you're right that some of their traits point to Icarax or Antrox, its three traits that really get me thinking that these guys were made by an unknown Makuta very early in the Mata Nui universe's timeline.
>Amphibious (able to live on water or land) is the trait that has me thinking Makuto Kojol had a hand in this. Kojol was the marine rahi expert after all.
>Worked for the Makuta and Karzahni. This is the biggie for me. Karzahni closed his kingdom off pretty early on in the timeline and cannonically had no freaking clue what had gone one outside his land while he was away. If he had Manas as guards in his realm, he got them pretty much at the start of the universe.
This argument works really well for Kojol since he was the Makuta of Artakha. If he knew where that island was, he probably knew where Karzahni was too.
However, there were a lot more Makuta before Teridax's purge. And before everyone who knew where Artakha was located, were murdered. So we really can't rule out any of the early unknown Brotherhood members.
>The Order being able to train these things into being loyal spies. This is honestly the most glaring thing to me. In no way can you tell me these guys magically rounded these things up, trained them to be loyal, and to mentally shield themselves, all without the Makuta noticing. No freaking way.
Unless one of the Makuta wanted them to be able to do that. Perhaps one of the 5 Makuta that ultimately sided with Miserix, or another unnamed good-aligned Makuta knew what the others could become and wanted them watched. This whole thing screams of a backdoor deal with The Order to make sure there was a means to watch and strike at the Brotherhood from the inside.
That's my take on it, but I'd love to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks again @cantankerouscanuck for the cool ask!

Crusaders Sighting Jerusalem by Edwin Austin Abbey (1897)
When you follow the teaching of the Templars, there at the heart of it is a kind of reverence for something of a feminine nature. This femininity was known as the Divine Sophia, the Heavenly Wisdom. Manas is the fifth principle, the spiritual self of man that must be developed, for which a temple must be built. And, just as the pentagon at the entrance to Solomon's Temple characterises the fivefold human being, this female principle similarly typifies the wisdom of the Middle Ages.
—Rudolf Steiner, The Temple Legend
The souls of the Templars had however at the same time achieved something else. Through this intense inward penetration into the Mystery of Golgotha, they had gained the power actually to attain Christian initiation by means of the historical event. Christian initiation may be attained in the manner described in our books, but in this case it was attained in the following way. Their external deeds and the enthusiasm that lived in these deeds drew forth the souls of the Templars, so that these souls, apart from the body, outside the body, lived with the spiritual progress of humanity and penetrated in soul and spirit the secrets of the Mystery of Golgotha. Many and deep experiences were then undergone, and not for the individual soul alone but for all humanity.  ... Had things not gone in this way, had the stream of materialism not been allowed to spread so far and wide, neither could, on the other hand, our connection with the spiritual world have become so deep and intimate. For indeed, what the Templars had accomplished by entering in a living spiritual sense into the Mystery of Golgotha was not lost. It lived on. And the souls of the Templars — after their terrible experiences on the rack, fifty-four of them were put to death — the souls of the Templars who had, under these circumstances, passed through the portal of death, were now able to send down from the spiritual world streams of spiritual life for those who lived in the succeeding centuries.
Fifty-four Templars were burned at the stake in 1314. Fifty-four souls went up into the spiritual worlds. And from that time on, supersensibly and invisibly, without its being outwardly perceptible to the facts of history, there began in European humanity a spiritual development that owed its origin to the fact that individual souls were continually being inspired from the spiritual world with what these fifty-four souls carried through the gate of death into the spiritual world.
—Rudolf Steiner, The Templars (GA 171 - additional lecture)

Moon, Mind & Law quotes from The Great Cosmic Mother by Monica Shoo & Barbara Mor
1…women were the first observers of lunar cycles. As first agriculturalists, women related moon phases to planting and reaping times. It is women who live the lunar cycle in our bodies. Becoming and changing are the lunar order of things. The moon exerts an identical influence on the magnetic serpent current of the earth, the tides of the sea and women’s menstrual flow. The lunar body is mirrored in nature, and it synchronises with the flow of menstrual blood. (P142/143)
2.Women originally went into menstrual huts in order to get gather the dark moon power, to focus it and study it, in solitude. In both group and solitary meditation, moon power became mind power.
3.In most languages there is a common root word for “moon” and “menstruation”. Our own word for menstruation comes from menses, the Latin word for”month”, which was measured originally by the moon. And both words are related, through Indo-European roots to the Old English, mona (moon), deriving from me, which meant both”mind” and “measurement”.
4.All are cognates-moon, mind, measurement, month, menstruation- since it is the moon that establishes measurement, including calendars.
5.Menstruation also means “moon-change”, also mind-change. P151
6.Light is a potent trigger of biological rhythms. (Lunaception.)
7.Human life begins with birth. …the female’s experience of surviving pregnancy and bearing children and keeping them alive. From: Monica Shoo & Barbara Mor The great cosmic mother P145
8.There is a resemblance between Moon Mothers everywhere. In this form the Great Goddess is always the law-giver, the orderer of time, the judge of the dead, and the eternal source of wisdom and ecstasy.p155
9.The Hindu Moon Mother Kali sits in her lotus posture, breathing the rise and fall of our earthly tides.155
Birth Death Rebirth
10.The moon is the Goddess who dies and rises again. The fruit that produces itself out of itself, with the power of life over death. The moon dies and then conquers darkness to rise again as the new moon, small at first but with energy within to recreate herself. These are all the original, ancient, and matriarchal ideas of cyclic birth-death-and-resurrection…
11.The cup of soma is also the mind (mens:mind:moon). It is mental perception and knowledge conveying the psychic-cosmic inspiration of the moon when the understanding, of its own motion, forms ideas within itself, it then comes to be called mind. Soma is distilled from the primordial waters, and is the dark fruit of the moon tree. Soma is the mind-fruit of the spine-tree.
12.Women were everywhere the original mantics-the shamans, the ecstatic oracular prophets, the visionary poets. Mantism is the natural art of prophesying, divining, receiving, and channeling psychic-biological energy from the earth and moon. This is woman’s original and organic province.
13.The moon fruit is the highest transformation form of the Earth-seed, the discipline designed to help the group channel and direct the real power of the universe, radiating into and from all of us.
14.Women were the first bearers of this technique, since it emanates from our own bodies and psychic processes.
15.Women are tied directly to the mantic moon by both a mental and blood cord.
16.And what were those children like who were born with the blessings of both the Moon Mother and their human mothers? Were their psyches wide open, communicating easily with the greater Self? Was the psychic/astral/lunar body more vibrant and aware? Were they able to communicate and resonate with the animals and plants, the stones and whole earth, and also tune into cosmic vibrations of the moon, sun and stars? What were moon minds like? (p152-3)
17.Goddess was the judge and giver of law. Crimes, challenges, problems were investigated by the women by moonlight. Bright nights were spent sitting around the fire thinking, contemplating, envisioning. This is why words that have to do with mental activity are, in most languages, cognate with names for the moon, e.g., mens, mental, measure, month, mind.
18.“They call the the moon the mother of the universe”, having both female and male powers and reproducing herself alone. (p152-3)

Yes, Greece still exists, we didn't all die 2000 years ago. Yes, people speak Greek. You people are so fucking stupid for real. So many of you claim to love ancient shit but can't even acknowledge the actual living culture of the people whose mythology and classics you romanticize. You keep leaving annoying comments about how you just forget Greek people still exist, thinking you're being quirky because you love ancient stuff soooo much that you forgot about the people it came from. You think about it so little you don't even realize that an actual Greek person has to read this shit, making it clear how little you actually care about the culture beyond the romanticized (and westernized) mythology. Don't claim you love Greece, don't use our mythology anymore if you can't acknowledge that we're still around without making it about how little you think about us. It's mind boggling that you'd think a Greek person would read this and think you're anything but obnoxious. Explode.
