Do you read manhwas ?? If so then which one?

Yeah, I read webtoon/manhwa and manga a lot.

I am not really fan of manhua but there are exceptions for that one too, for example; 'Your Dream is Delicious' was one of my exceptions for me because i love characters. I love it.

I dont have specific genre to read one because you can never know which story has good characters and well written plotline but i generally prefer to read;

Yaoi- But i cant enjoy the story, if sex is only thing or main focus.

Romance- The reason i love romance because i love series that focus on relationships the most, though i hate when 'romance is the only focus' or when lovers act like they only care about each others but still, at least, story explores the interaction between characters.

Fantasy- I dont mind slice of life but sometimes its fun to explore supernatural or fantasy world.

Psychological- What can i say, psychology is my favorite thing because i dont enjoy shallow-typical characters, i want to know more about them, thats how i can get into story and enjoy from it. Though, its hard to find well written one.

Horror- i think every story needs a little/small horror element.

Shounen ai- Unlike yaoi, slowburn romance when characters get to know each others first works better because two strangers having sex and magiclaly falling in love is so unrealistic to me. Not to mention, most of them are romanticized toxic relationships without consent, i hate it.

Shoujo ai- I mean, there is no difference for me between shoujo ai and shounen ai, if its well written. Though, its hard to find good yuri too.

This doesnt mean i dont read other genres but i usually read those ones the most. I read reencarnation stories too but most of the mare cliche, its hard to find good one.

The thing is; Its been years since i start reading manhwa, I dont remember which ones i read because i read a lot and i still read.

But i have a few favorites, unfortunately i dont remember everything i read so just a few faves of mine.

Bastard;

Genre; Crime, mystery, psychological, horror.

I enjoy this story a lot.

A Joyful Life;

Genre; Slice of life, shoujo ai, romance, drama

I love main characters and the interaction between them.

Stagtown;

Genre; Horror, mystery, supernatural.

Recently, it has finished, i really enjoyed the horror elements of the story.

Pyramid Game;

Genre; Psychology

Both story and characters are good. Another 'win the game/war' type of story but its about more mental struggle than psychical one. If you love stories with tension, you might like this.

King's Maker;

Genre; Shounen ai, yaoi, history.

Main focus isnt romance. Its about changing the kingdom they live in.

The Best Smell;

Genre; Shounen ai.

Just adding here, cute shounen ai story, though art c/should've been better. Not necessarely my fave but i am just adding here because i dont remember other stories i read.

Her Shimchang;

Genre; Shoujo ai, romance, history, supernatural.

I keep rec.ing shoujo ai, even though i hardly read one, (i usually read yaoi/shounen ai). I often end up hating most the things i read so its rare to find a story i love from beginning to the ending and this one is one of them.

Hooky;

Genre; Fantasy, adventure.

It has very cute art, and storyline. I love when characters go to adventure, discover the world around them, interact with others. Though i didnt enjoy the second part os tory, still worh it though and i love the twins and their relationship the most.

I Love Amy;

This one isnt necessarely my fave because story is new to me but i find the story, characters and art interesting enough to mention it. Its about yandere girl who fall in love with the girl she considered love rival, lol. I love the fact that they actually give yandere girl a character and story and allow her to learn true love.

I read so many good stories, especially romance, yaoi but these ones are the ones i remember right now.

Bonus; I also read Dr Frost, The Guy Upstairs, Like You Maybe, Sugar & Spice, High Class Homos, Fictional Skin, Tower of God etc on webtoon app. Others i read on random websites, there are too many to write it here so for now, thats it.

Story time at the Palace

For @eloise175 who asked me about how Callisto screwed up his children’s perceptions on dating and romance via story time. These are El’s bedtime stories.

One day, Callisto will look back on these moments with a sense of fondness and no small amount of regret and horror after the dust had settled and each and every one of his children had followed the ill thought advices on romance he’d given them. Every single one of his precious little treasures had their first child out of wedlock like some vengeance from the Gods, though his beloved wife claimed that it was all his fault for putting the ideas into their heads.

For now though, Callisto was happily enjoying this moment with his family. The favourite kinds of moments that he, and Penelope, would always keep in their hearts. All of them were laying on a single bed with the children in the middle. And even if he’d been a bit irritated for a brief moment when he’d been interrupted in his seduction, all of it flew away the moment he saw those innocent adorable faces of their little angels looking imploringly up at him. He ushered the children into bed, lifting Rigel up when their baby failed to make it up the high bed on his own.

“Servant Emperor, tell us a story.” Judy demanded. His first born, the Empire’s brightest light whose conception and birth had turned him into the man he now was. (A sap as his wife so often says, senile and soft his children agree despite the fact that he wasn’t even forty).

“Hmm, what story shall I tell you?” He asked as he stroked Eden’s hair.

“How did you and mom meet?” Kaden asked. By any standards, that would have been a good story to tell. He glanced at Penelope who raised a brow and gave him a grin as if to say ‘Go on, how do you spin this?’

“I bet it was romantic.” Eden said, her twin made gagging noises. “Stop it, Dante!”

Well, he could do romantic.

“You want to know how your mother and I met? Well our first meeting was just the customary greeting during the homecoming banquet. But the first time we spoke was on my evil half brother’s birthday. I stormed into the banquet with an assassin in my clutches, fury burning through me and I wanted nothing more than to destroy his moment. Your mother was there too, she’d seen me briefly as I’ve just mentioned, during my homecoming.”

He looked at each and every one of their precious little faces and smiled at how enraptured they look. “As I stormed out of the banquet having ‘discarded’ the assassins, my anger still hadn’t subsided. Your mother, sweet woman that she was, followed me out to to the maze in an attempt to comfort me and to see if I was hurt. I’ll admit, I was a bit presumptuous and paranoid and I’d raised my sword at her and demanded to know why she followed me out.”

He paused for dramatic effect. Watched as they waited with baited breath. “Her words struck me, she said she had fallen for me at first sight during the banquet and that she merely came to check up on me and to confess her feelings but understood if they were a burden to me and quite overstepping. Her words stayed with me and I was enchanted from that moment on, I couldn’t get her out of my mind and I wanted to see her all the time. I tried my best and after some hard work, here we are.” He waved his hands around to gesture at them.

Stories always have a lesson in them, right? Then he should add in one as well. “In short, a good death threat gets a good love confession.” From where he lay, he could see Penelope glare at him for the last part, her finger making a violent motion as she threatened in him behind the children’s back. Did he do something wrong?

Dante took his Father’s words to heart and received a love confession from his future wife after his own bout of death threats and Callisto couldn’t be prouder of his son. Not so proud when he discovered that his son had his own little bundle of joy with the woman before they had even gotten engaged. But that was a story for next time.

My gently raised beast 

Length: 93 chapters + 13 side stories Art: good, one of the best ones Genre: supernatural characters (beast), fantasy, European themed (duke, emperor, princess etc) Recommendation: swoon worthy, good plot and backstory would recommend Notes: initially it can get a little disinteresting as for 30 something chapters the ML and the FL are just young children however the build up is worth it

The tainted half

Length: 40 chapters Art: absolutely beautiful Genre: ancient Korean or Chinese themed, concubines, kings, some supernatural phenomenons, fantasy, contains sexual themes Recommendation: definitely recommend, very unique plot different from typical historical manhwas, also it’s short and easy to follow  Notes: the ML and the antagonist are twin brothers hence they essentially have the same facial features however the hair, plot, direction and dialogue makes them distinct. The ML is also extremely swoon worthy and one the best long haired ones in a while (don’t worry even though they’re twins the antagonist is nothing in comparison)

The double agent 

Length: 73 chapters + 3 side stories  Art: definitely pretty, we love platinum hair MLs Genre: modern historical manhwa, detectives, spies etc. European themed, tragic themes, contains sexual themes  Recommendation: if you enjoy plots with tragedy some action and vague romance, would recommend  Notes: can be disturbing initially, but the conclusion from the MLs pov is beautiful, does contain toxic themes but we love little bit of that, it’s kinda like trust the process but not quite 

Beware the villainess 

Length: 92 chapters + 36 side stories  Art: extremely beautiful, the outfits are amazing and the ML is the best long blue haired in all of manhwas Genre: European themed, transmigration, fantasy, supernatural (wolves?) Recommendation: would recommend for the romance since it’s expressed little but it’s swoon worthy. May become lengthy after a stretch however there is a strong plot that is followed  Notes: one of the reasons I didn’t drop this manhwa was bc it was already completes including the side stories. The only thing motivating me to continue was to see more romance between the ML and FL and also the ML is stunning and down bad. Also there are very few mahwas about wolves or animal transformations so I kept reading this one.  I really wanted some more skin ship but felt like it was too little and expressed too and late.

Love advice from the great Duke of hell

Length: 131 chapters + epilogue + afterwords Art: wasn’t impressed at first but honestly it’s pretty neat for being sketch like and adds to the humour and aesthetic  Genre: the true definition of supernatural meets romance meets comedy. And this shit is funny. Like funny funny. I’ve had to suppress my laughter funny. The plot is unpredictable af.  Recommendation: Highly recommended for all readers. It’s just simply peak in its game. I believe all readers that like action, supernatural (devil, duke, occult etc.) romance and humour will enjoy this  Notes: the only manhwa that I wish I had been following along as the chapters were released usually I like to binge the whole manhwa but this one was honestly a ride with all the cliffhangers strategically put to make to continue scrolling. Also one of the best ending I’ve read extremely unpredictable. One of my most highly recommended manhwas even to new readers. The laughs are amazing.

Him & him & him 

Length: prologue + 16 chapters + 6 side stories Art: it’s good the MLs are cute  Genre: it’s smut, heavily sexual themes, sex partners, threesomes etc. the FL leads a typical office life, reverse harem  Recommendation: if you want some smut with a vague plot, or if you prefer short smut stories Notes: I wanted a better ending, although it remains harem. The smut had a potential to be way more kinky (since I’ve read many more creative ones). Two of the MLs are twins and the other one is their uncle which may sound weird but with the hot art and smut it’s not.

Mythical errand 

Length: prologue + 83 chapters Art: I love it. It’s pretty distinct and unique, the blushes are too cute, and the MLs blushes are 😩 Genre: historical (Korean era), mythical, college students, mythical beings, modern setting, comedic elements and romance  Recommendation: It’s really funny and entertaining, for a person new to webtoons and mythical creatures it’s a fun experience. But if you’re looking for harem ending then I have to reveal that it’s not one. Notes: the first season was amazing I had been obsessed, however it went downhill from then onwards. It’s alright to pick a ML from the two however the ending for the second ML was not satisfactory and it felt rushed and forced. Also the moments with the ML were not enough. In fact I had been thinking of way more creative continuations as I had been waiting for daily pass.  My dear cold blooded king

Length: chapter 0 + 161 chapters + afterword  Art: stunning, the MLs are hot Genre: historical, some action, romance obviously, certain mature themes Recommendation: yes, one of the og emperor trope manhwas. There’s a ML and a second ML and fortunately she ends up with whom I wanted her to. Nota damsel in distress FL  Notes: it’s been too long since I read this, one of the first manhwas I ever read. Was already concluded when I read it so was fun binging though the less interesting chapters quickly 

Rewriting the villainess

Length: 62 chapters + afterword

Art: pretty, the characters are too cute, the only green(?) haired FL manhwa that I know as of now

Genre: Korean school setting, also a little medieval, body switching typa isekai I’m not sure, the FL like switches with a character of the manhwa she wrote, so it’s supernatural, romance and fantasy 

Recommendation: I do recommend reading if you enjoy an average looking FL

Notes: A little different from the plot lines of other villainess manhwas but not too crazy, it’s short, although I didn’t expect how long the manhwa would actually run for as I had been following it (catched up again after skipping a few weeks). I wish they explored the other lead and his attachment to Liza.

Lullaby 

Length: 48 chapters + afterword 

Art: pretty, the FL could have been prettier, her hair seemed almost grey in certain panels, the FL is extremely hot, his facial features are like the typical back haired FL in manhwas (which is one reason why I began reading this) and that panel of him in the traditional Korean clothes is hawt hot (the second reason)

Genre: fantasy, demons, supernatural, ceo, employee, office, romance 

Recommendation: for binge reading some fantasy, could get a little stretchy or rushed at times

Notes: you could totally just binge read the chapters where the ML and FL interact or just scroll to the outfits that I was talking about earlier.

Romantic flow 

Length: 50 chapters

Art: good, very professional, the ML is really fucking hot

Genre: romance, office romance, misunderstandings, ceo, lawyer, contains sexual references

Recommendation: short, easy to follow, recommended if you want some plot with hot ML, or if you like dark straight haired FLs

Notes: I personally only read this for the kissing panels and sexual panels and otherwise just skimmed through the rest

There must be happy endings

Length: 109 chapters + 3 side stories

Art: very beautiful, almost too pretty

Genre: time rewind, married, ceo, company stuff, angst, domestic abuse(only referred)

Recommendation: classic for a time rewind manhwa or if you like pretty art or you if want to read about married leads

Notes: initially began reading this having no idea that it’s a time rewind, I just thought the that the characters were too pretty to be ignored. I especially loved the concept of the möbius strip.

Dahae’s Dream

Length: 34 chapters + authors note

Art: Stunning, the FL could be prettier, but all the MLs are stunning

Genre: (don’t worry there’s one endgame if you’re not into harem), there isn’t an actual reverse harem, she does not sleep with multiple men at once, but she does sleep with them consequently. Its obviously smut, it’s obvious but I didn’t see the genital visuals closely, you know, like the other manhwas. Is a little supernatural. Office romance, there’s also a cafe trope, director trope and celebrity trope.

Recommendation: definitely, it’s super hot and sexy and it’s short, but I feel like the story could have more, like it’s not over yet, we didn’t get enough of the endgame.

Notes: I wish the drawings were more explicit, bc the characters are hot af and it would be better if they had a more defined ending. And of course it’s too short. Like I just binged this in half a day and to immediately write down its review. Other manhwas that ill review in the future are the ones that I read like almost 2 years ago.

I like to think that when aethernitas reincarnated, Lucas greeted him first, just like what lucas promised him in the past. Aethy worked to be accepted as a court mage in the palace, and Lucas knew it was him when he saw the application. I like to think that both of them became friends after Lucas decided to take aethy under his wings and taught him things (which aethy regretted cuz lucas sucks at teaching lol but he survived). When athy found out that aethy is back, she was a bit suspicious at first but lets it go when he saw lucas having fun. So then athy and aethy became friends too

There were situations where Haejoon was too young when other adults doubted or treated him unkindly because of the stigma surrounding him. But in those situations his mother would always be there for him and stand up for him no matter what which changed that "all adults are twisted" view for him.

The title of "mad dog" didn't originate from his temper . He just somehow tried to endure it, until he decided to give the same treatment to his bullies as well.

How do I write a rape scene from the POV of the rapist, who intensely regrets what he did while intoxicated, without making it seem like rape can be overlooked of the rapist feels bad about it?

The character in question absolutely would not have done it if he had been sober, but he wasn't sober, so he did something horrible. When he wakes up sober, he's horrified to remember what he did. Complicating matters is that there was a spell that prevents him from confessing to the victim, who was passed out from drinking an entire bottle of soju, while the rape happened.

It is also deliberately ambiguous as to how many rapists there were

Storytime at the Palace Part 3

Welcome to the currently last part of El’s bedtime stories because @eloise175 finally and quite literally fell asleep in the middle of this which was the point so I consider it a success.

Callisto watched the children with a fond smile. They were in the Library today. The children having tracked them down after their classes to where he and Penelope had retired for a break before dinner.

“When did you know that Mother was the one?” Eden asked, her wide red eyes looked up at him with that twinkle in her eyes. His heart melted at the sight. He was never one to really deny their children anything that wasn’t dangerous to them. And there was no harm in telling stories. (There was but he didn’t know it yet.)

“When did I know your mother was the one, you ask?” He paused as he thought it through. His mind going to every event from the early days of his acquaintance with the Princess to the one that truly changed things and engraved her within his heart, if she wasn’t there already. “There was an incident on an island that has now ceased to exist because of your mother. And this is the story of how it came to pass.”

His wife groaned as she immediately realized which story it was. He fetched an old map and brought it out, pointing to the one island that they immediately realized hadn’t been on any of the old ones. “Your mother was out with Marquis Verdandi distributing bread because she’s a charitable and kind woman. While the Marquis was distracted she decided to watch over the village children who were all mana wielders. During a moment of distraction, the children were kidnapped by the cultists and your mother fought valiantly to try and save them. When that failed, she and the Marquis went off in pursuit and traced them all the way to Soleil where they became separated.”

Dante leaned in closer, his eyes showing both curiosity at the possibility of his Mother fighting, and worry at the thought of his beloved Mother fighting. “Though fearful, your Mother rose to the occasion and fought the monsters that appeared. Coincidentally, I was at a meeting about an invasion of Soleil when I realized that your mother was there and rushed out to try and protect her.” He remembered Cedric drawing attention to that red dot that was the Princess, the two seconds it took him to realize what it was, or rather who it was, and the mad dash as he rushed to the mages, threatening them to take him to Soleil. It was a miracle he had been able to get to her so fast. But he could never forget the way his heart pounded, the painful squeeze of worry and fear.

“I got there just as your mother was faced with the largest and most fierce monster she’d yet to fight and slew it for her. At that point, we encountered the Marquis and decided to head off together in search of the children.” In hindsight, it was clear that Winston was Marquis Verdandi. There was a stamp of jealousy in his heart when he realized that the Princess was there with another man, not to mention the anger he felt at the man who’d brought someone as sheltered as her to such a dangerous place. Because she may have magic, powerful magic at that, but she was also clearly unused to using magic. The doubts in her head, the fear of rejection and the worry that he’d be suspicious of her and doubt her as the foolish Marquis so clearly had, it was all there for him to see.

“We came upon a most horrific sight, the Leila was devouring the essence of the mages with a single kiss.” He laughed as he saw his children gasp in shock and disgust. His Darling Wife chided him softly about keeping that part in and traumatizing them.

“When she had recouped her strength, she had then brought out the shards of the mirror of truth.”

Judy whispers softly from where she sat. “I destroyed that when I was really little, like three or something.” Callisto nodded with a smile. That damned mirror that showed him all of Penelope’s deaths, that had tried to take her away from them for the last time before she managed to kill her other body to seal her fate here.

“The Imperial Mage Raon, who was still very much a child at that time, was on the verge of being brainwashed when the Marquis attacked, revealing himself. I couldn’t let him face them alone and while we fought, your Mother moved to sneak around and take him while everyone was distracted. Unfortunately, the Leila was still able to notice her using its vile demonic ways. And they unleashed a truly terrifying monster.”

Just like before, the children clung to one another in worry as they looked towards their Mother to reassure themselves that she was alright. Strange that it was always their Mother they worried over and never him, but then again, he worried about them all constantly as well. “Your Mother used magic to destroy it as well, causing irreparable destruction to the island’s surface. Before she could deliver the final blow however, the Leila fled in fear. And we were left on a sinking island. I had the Marquis take the rest of the children while I stayed behind to get to where your Mother had been trapped.”

Then he remembered the feeling of seeing her unleash that blast of magic, the heat that flooded him seeing her so cocky as she taunted the remainder of the cultists with her false bravado. She was so enticing and had things not been pressing, he couldn’t guarantee that he would’ve stopped at a kiss if he’d had the chance. “But I remember thinking in that moment that there was no woman more perfect for me then she was.” He told them, voice a bit distant and wistful.

He snapped out of it. “Anyway, together, we fled for our lives, Raon on my shoulder as your Mother tried desperately to remember the teleportation spell. Luckily, the little mage woke and managed to get us out of the island but he thrust us into the heart of the sea. Your Mother’s clothing weighing her down made it hard for her to get to the surface so I held on to her and gave her a kiss to give her some air.” He coughed as he remembered that moment, their first kiss was Penelope either unconscious or on her way there.

“And I was greatly relieved when she woke a little shaken and wet but no worse for wear. When it was time to return to the Palace, we said our farewells and she begged me to get my arm checked from the injury a monster had dealt me. I rewarded her with a kiss and the way she looked under the moonlight, blushing and surprised, was so beautiful that I knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.” He remembered the way she looked under the moonlight, her dress wet and hair let loose. Wide eyes filled with worry that was conveyed in her words as she begged him to get someone to take a look at his wounds. It was music to his ears and he’d turned back and given in, kissing her once again before he disappeared. Relishing the flustered, wide eyed look, illuminated by the golden light of the magic and the silver of the moon. She looked so pretty and cute like a bunny.

“I couldn’t stop thinking about her from that moment, when she used to enter my mind once an hour it became an occurrence that happened every moment waking or sleeping. Every little thing reminded me of her.” That was why he’d spoiled her with presents, why he gave that proposal that even he had to admit was awful. All of them were in hindsight. A marriage of convenience, trying to trick her into a wedding, the garbage area, even the one in the cave because Penelope was in no fit state to have been wandering around and going through those attacks while pregnant. But regardless, he knew then that he wanted to be with her, that she was the one. Even if he denied her feelings.

He decided that this was a good end to the story and finished it with his customary life advice. “So the moral of the lesson here is, if you want a kiss some pyromania and public destruction or full on island sinking is the way to go.”

Judith’s first kiss happens when she’s eighteen, an island sinking behind her. Eden’s happens after she sets fire to an effigy to her Father’s step mother. Both girls also took one other advice from their father to heart. The very same one that he immediately back tracked on. “You could make like your mother, get drunk at a party and get touchy, actually no, forget about that part.” Both daughters do get pregnant under the influence of alcohol and neither regret it. Callisto ends up wallowing in misery even if he admits to himself that he wouldn’t have done anything differently when it came to having Judith then, in fact, if he could go back in time, he’d probably try to have her during the hunting festival.

This has nothing to do with wmmap but how did you find Spoon's Youtube channel? I have tried to find the Youtube channel of other artists such as a stepmother's marchen or how to get my husband on my side and I cannot find it, I have even searched for it with its Korean name and I have checked all its social networks (Instagram and twitter ) and I couldn't find anything at all, but you managed to find Spoon's, How did you do that?

Hello Anon! Oh, well, maybe not all of them have YouTube channels in the first place? I think most manhwa artists tend to be private people.

How did I find Spoon's channel... It was such a long time ago that I really can't remember. I guess I either saw it linked on the WMMAP Wiki or @lithi (hi <3) posted about it.

Now, I don't follow other manhwa artists as closely as Spoon, but I remember seeing SAM (Your Throne) doing a video interview, and SUOL (Penelope manhwa) did a Twitch stream. Perhaps the artists you are interested in have done promotional videos like those, even if they don't have a YouTube channel of their own. Those are usually on the YouTube channels of their publishing houses or the korean platforms for their manhwas. But again, it's not the norm for all artists to have a channel, most of them are pretty private (smart decision, to be honest).
