mint
pairing: mike schmidt x blackfem!reader summary: you’re abby’s mint chocolate-loving babysitter. mike takes notice. wc: 1.3k tags: suggestiveness, swearing, fluff. *minor movie spoiler that isn’t a spoiler fr but kind of is* a/n: oi. this is my first official piece of fanfic on tumblr and i'm excited but also super nervous. i never knew what characters i wanted to write for as most of my fandoms are obsolete tbh (teen wolf and maze runner, i'm looking at you 💔) but after watching the fnaf movie and falling in love with j hutch like i'm 14 again, i wanted to try to write for mike!  i'm sorry if this story sucks tbh. i wrote it pretty quickly, did not edit it in any way (watch for grammar and spelling errors!) and i'm still trying to establish characters and plot and do all this silly billy worldbuilding, but i'll get better! i'm also taking requests for both fluff and smut, so if y'all would like to send anything for me to write, i'll def accept! like i said in my last post, i think i'm gonna redo my tumblr layout so i can feel like a true fanfic/misc blog lmao so ignore its under construction phase ((: i hope y'all enjoy this though bc i've been thinking ab mike schmidt all night
i have sooo many ideas, but between last night and this morning, i’ve been thinking of abby’s babysitter!reader (bc fuck max).
you’ve been channel surfing in the living room since you put abby down, working with her to lock down a nightly routine. ideally, she’d bathe, eat dinner (god willingly), brush her teeth, and then you’d be able to get her to lay in bed and doze off. some nights, this required dessert.
“you just brushed your teeth though. it’s gonna taste gross.”
“not if it’s one of those mint chocolate things you always have.” you straighten up, eyes squinted at the child before you; she meant the small, sometimes melted, squares of Andes mint chocolate you always kept. they’d always been your favorite, a guilty pleasure in this fucked up world.
you hadn’t been babysitting abby for long, and you didn’t realize that she'd been watching you crush the chocolates like it was light work. they were easy to eat, and once you had one, you found out how easy it was to eat another one, and then another one, and then another one until there was a mountain of crinkled foil next to your phone and chocolate smeared on your face.
"please, y/n. just one," you didn't exactly know if it was a lie. abby was convincing, able to break you down with her eyes, pleading and puppy-dog like. "please."
you cave, leaning down to brush her hair back from her forehead and place a gentle kiss on the skin. with pursed lips, you whisper, "fine, but tomorrow night. i have to get some more."
abby does nothing but smile, eyes fluttering closed. you stay with her for a bit like you always do--watching the way her chest rises and falls, and how her features twitched with slumber. features scarily similar to mike's.
of course she'd look like mike. they were siblings, no shit, but the resemblance occupied your brain. there was sweet abby, with her colorful clothes and scribbled drawings and persuasive aura, and then there was mike.
you shake your head, giving abby another kiss before exiting her room. you didn't need to think about mike. he wasn't what you were here for. you'd come to abby's school as an aide and after she'd privately confided in you about her home life, you knew you had to help her. you would do anything for her, even if that meant taking care of her while suppressing the overwhelming school girl crush you had on her older brother.
mike was a bit older than you, which didn't scare you at all. guys in their early 20s were rarely mature, doing anything they could just to fuck; but guys in their late 20s, mike specifically, had only ever shown you couth, surprisingly.
for nearly two months, five mornings a week, the sound of the door being unlocked would ring out. you'd turn to see sunshine pouring into the living room, enveloping mike's brooding figure in a radiant golden glow.
he'd hang his coat on the wall hooks, drop his bag down to his feet, and give you a small but warm smile. you'd try to not to embarrass yourself as you two made small talk, packing up your things.
you always left unscathed, but recently it'd been hard. you were always thinking about him, dreaming about him even; how his hair would feel between your fingers, how his hands would feel on your face, how his face would feel between your thighs.
the thought is washed away, drowned out by the sound effects of a loud infomercial when the door opens, and you're turning and squinting against the wash of pale yellow on your face. mike steps forward with a, "hey, y/n" and you meekly raise your hand to wave.
he hangs his hoodie up to reveal his shoulder blades flexing under an uncharacteristically tight navy blue sweater. you can't help but stare.
"just wake up?" his voice is raspy, but he's still facing the wall, rummaging in his bag for something.
"um...yeah. brain's still turning on," you lie, tossing the thick blue blanket off your body. you didn't sleep at all, kept up with your thoughts and the last of your Andes mints (though you loved her, you couldn't give abby your last ones).
"hm," he mutters, finally turning to you but keeping his hands behind his back. something crinkles in them and you raise your eyebrow at the tired yet amused expression he takes with you. it's enough to make your body hot and you awkwardly pull at the collar of your shirt, fanning yourself off.
"hot?" the gravelly tone sends you into a giggling fit, shaking your head as you shoot to your feet. you have to leave before you do or say something you regret.
"uh, yeah, it was s-super hot under that...um...blanket. i shouldn't have worn sweatpants to s-sleep," you stutter, nodding your head along with mike as he steps closer to you. this couldn't be the moment something happens, right? it'd been so casual between you too, very friendly, and he'd never shown any signs of trying to do anything with you before. why would he choose right now, so spontaneously?
he stands before you, the slightest bit taller than you. you're able to see every pore, every freckle, every microscopic detail in his eyes and lips.
you open your mouth, hoping your heart doesn't fall out, to ask what's happening, when he reveals a bag of Andes mints, one bigger than you've ever seen.
your mouth stays open in surprise. "wh-"
"abby's been talking about them. i wondered where she found out about them but--" he nudges his head towards the coffee table, where a small mound of green wrappers lay. you swear under your breath, cursing yourself for not throwing them away like you usually do.
"i'm sorry," you whisper, blushing beyond measure as you begin to frantically pack your things. "i should be more careful with that stuff."
"god, y/n, you're saying it like it's coke," mike chuckles. he sets the bag down on the couch and reaches out to you, placing his hand on yours as you shove things into your tote. "hey."
his voice forces you to stop and look up. you melt under his stare just like you do with abby. the puppy-dog thing must run in the family.
"i feel bad about not being able to pay you yet, and i really appreciate all you're doing. abby told me that you loved those mints, so..."
"thank you, mike," you say over the sound of your pounding heart. you didn't care about the money, you didn't need it. being appreciated by someone who made your heartbeat resonate throughout your body was payment enough. "this is really sweet."
"thank you, y/n. you don't know how much this means to me." You scoff, throwing your tote over your shoulder and looking down at your feet.
"i'm always happy to help." you and mike stand facing each other for what feels like hours, the air as thick as molasses between you. his eyes were squinted, low and dark and intriguing.
you wished you could read his mind. what was he thinking? did his heart do the same thing as yours, wacking against his ribcage with no end in sight? did he stay up thinking about you when he was supposed to be sleeping, imagining how you felt, what you sounded like, how you tasted---
"see you later tonight?" his voice rocks you out of your trance. he's not thinking about you. he's tired, wondering when you'll leave so he can fall into his bed and doze off.
"yeah. tell abby i said i'll see her tonight." your smile is tight as you exit the house, cursing at yourself as you get into your car.
you didn't know how long you could go on like this.
ya, i know this sucks and it isn't really anything but we're gonna work our way through these fics and blurbs to really develop a cute relationship (,: i will still be writing other fics for mike, and possibly using another babysitter!reader in a different universe, but as for now, we're gonna be rocking with these two (: (thinking that we’ll label her as 🌱🍫!reader)  all notes are appreciated (: thanks for reading!

Tips On how to Participate in Slots: Regulations, Functions & Tips
With a great number of attributes, shiny lights and transferring components, it’s no wonder Increasingly more players need to know how to Perform slots. Absolutely sure, you are able to spin and go. But the amount of do you truly know about the computer software beneath your favourite slot?
With this guide, you’ll discover The fundamental policies of on line slots, how they pay out out And the way the most well-liked slot capabilities do the job.
How to play slots in 5 actions Should you’ve never ever performed a slot in your life and you’ve bought 10 seconds to space, here’s all you actually need to learn about the way to Engage in slots on the net.
5 Actions Regarding how to Play A Slot What exactly are slot machines? A slot machine is a gambling video game which utilizes reels and symbols. They get their name simply because early slots in Dwell casinos ended up performed by placing a coin in the slot. Players inserted their coin or token, pulled a lever and spun the reels. When the symbols on the center line matched, they won a prize.
The earliest slots made use of only 3 or 4 symbols and every one had a different price. Modern-day movie slots now use ten or even more symbols, that makes them each visually interesting and offers a bigger selection of payouts much too.
Slot Machine Options Why are slots so popular? Slots are the most popular kind of on line gambling and in Vegas, more people Engage in slots than almost every other desk recreation. For the uninitiated, They appear repetitive, and their Appears can travel you mad. But a lot of gamblers around the globe like to Participate in slots for quite a few reasons:
youtube
Amazing amount of alternative Participating graphics and layout Modest stakes but huge prizes Slots might have existed since the turn from the 20th century and they became a staple in British isles pubs for decades. But due to developments in technology, they’re now in a completely various league. You have only to Enjoy game titles like Guns n’ Roses to find out how significantly slots have come.
What is it possible to gain? For the many snazzy graphics and gameplay, slots gamers treatment most regarding the payout probable as well as the ingenious path to income prizes.
On line slots Have got a optimum multiplier per image, and since you'll be able to hit greater than 1 payline earn on the same spin, a optimum whole get per game also. This range is commonly set because of the On line casino, so they can regulate their liabilities.
With over 2,000 slots from which to choose at PlayOJO, you’ll obtain an exceptionally wide selection of payouts. Older vintage slots typically have fairly low utmost wins. Rainbow Riches features a utmost acquire per payline of just 500x, but it really stays considered one of the most popular slots of all time, in order that modest prize Obviously will it no hurt in the slightest degree!
The conventional For brand spanking new slots in recent times is the five,000x best payout the thing is with online games like Wolf Gold and E book of Lifeless.
At the very best of end of the payout spectrum you’ll find game titles like Starburst by using a 50,000x max gain per line, and jackpot slots with countless kilos up for grabs.
The paytable
If you would like know very well what prizes you may win and the way to acquire them, the paytable will be the destination to go. Some paytables provide you with the prizes in coins, while some use a hard cash figure dependant on the coin value you’ve preferred.
This paytable in the legendary Gonzo’s Quest slot demonstrates us how many coins you’ll gain in case you match 3 or even more symbols with a payline.
Paytable from Gonzo’s Quest But knowing Whatever you can acquire when you strike 5 cherries is just one piece of the puzzle. Although a slot includes a 5,000x symbol get along with a £250,000 highest payout, the way in which prizes are awarded has extra to do with software configurations named RTP, volatility and hit frequency. To know how a slot decides who wins, how frequently and the amount of, You must go underneath the hood…
How slots get the job done – design satisfies math engine Slots are a fusion of fine seems to be and clever computer code. It0 would be the seems to be that attract the punters in, nonetheless it’s the software that generates the secret of the massive wins.
There are lots of different types of slots player that casinos will need different slots encounters to match. Some are like lotteries, which has a tiny prospect of life-transforming wins. Many others produce non-stop motion even so the trade-off is the small prize quantities.
To some players, the home edge is The main factor in selecting a slot. Slots usually have a house fringe of 4-five%, Despite the fact that from the slots earth, gamers look at RTP. The RTP is definitely the reverse of the home edge. If your home keeps five%, the Return To Participant is 95%.
How a slots RTP functions isn't that diverse for the payout model for on the web roulette. The developers make a list of regulations which deliver a series of random wins of various measurements, all of which add as much as below just what the slot player has staked.
Most slots have an RTP of all around 96% which places them on the par with roulette and card games like Caribbean Stud. Because of this if you stake $one hundred,000 about an incredibly large variety of spins, you ought to expect to have $ninety six,000 again. In other words, you’d shed about $4,000 in a very video game that has a 4% home edge.
Essential Slots Conditions A further component is strike frequency, an element that affects the quantity of spins it will require on regular before you strike a profitable mixture or reward.
Except for RTP, slots players are most interested in how risky a slot plays. If You mostly aspiration huge and possess your eye over a jackpot prize, you won’t get much pleasure from enjoying a match that is not pretty unstable.
Applying every one of these levers, developers give Each individual slot match its personal gameplay experience or ‘payout temperament’ as I contact it. It’s important to think about these components When selecting which slots to play.
How am i able to enhance my possibilities of profitable on slot machines? That’s the million-dollar concern, but there’s no million-dollar answer. By and enormous, on line slots are pure luck, so there’s no in-match approach You should use to idea the odds within your favour (even so firmly or rapidly you strike the buttons in your pub fruit device).
But by deciding on video games with larger hit fees and reduce volatility, and making certain you will get the best deal any time you Participate in, you can put oneself able to play more time, guess sensibly and improve your odds of dealing with a gain.
There are many myths all around how to alter your odds of profitable on old-fashion pub fruit devices (and I’ve under no circumstances found one that was genuine!). But there aren't any silver bullets to transform your odds once you Participate in slots on-line.
You'll be able to improve the chance of hitting a successful spin throughout your next session by pretty much actively playing much more spins, because additional spins equal extra odds to win.
But that doesn’t improve your odds winning on any one spin, nor does it provide you with a much better potential for a bigger earn. And much more importantly, it will eventually cost you extra money.
I wouldn't advise participating in a lot more spins or Altering your stake, simply because they gained’t make a different and it’s not smart gambling. The only real way you are able to Individually have any influence on any possible returns is to select game titles with higher RTPs.
You may still not see the impression of that over a small sample measurement, but not less than by choosing a slot using a ninety seven% RTP in lieu of ninety five%, you’ll have far better maths on the facet.
Choosing the right slot in your case With thousands to pick from, you may surprise how on the planet you could find a slot which provides the kind of excitement and Perform expertise you get pleasure from most.
You will be a admirer of a specific recreation studio (I’m a Thunderkick person) or simply a topic like Irish or Asian slots. But Otherwise, listed here’s yet another way to tackle it.
Request oneself these queries and use the responses to choose which slots match your player profile.

Worldheart - Chapter 12
Start reading at Chapter 1
The halls were bathed in red light and the constant blare of the siren added to Jaz’s anxiety. Green Arrow and Black Canary followed her through the halls as she retraced the steps back to the elevators, thankful she was quick enough on her feet to make herself memorize the way. They’d encounter no Raptors most of the way, but that luck ran out when Jaz peeked down the hall leading to the elevators. There were four guards, two thugs, one Raptor, and another bigger Raptor with a gatling gun mounted on its shoulder. Canary moved to fight them, but Arrow held his arm up to stop her. He smiled and winked at them both before he began to fix his uniform, cleared his throat, and limber up by bouncing in place and mock stretching. Jaz glanced at Canary who just rolled her eyes.
Green Arrow rushed out from behind the wall holding his hands up and yelling, “Don’t shoot!” The men looked startled. They aimed their guns at him but didn’t attack, instead looking to each other confused. “There’s a giant wolf man back there! He completely destroyed the laboratory!” He pointed in the opposite direction. “You have to do something!” Arrow turned around backing up towards them as if he were more scared of what he was just running from than them. It worked. The men nodded to each other before training their guns on the hallway opposite ours waiting for this mystery foe.  They stepped forward moving to pass Green Arrow when he twisted, landing a punch to ones throat and an elbow in the others gut before following it up with another punch to his face knocking him out. He was close enough to side step behind the smaller Raptor using it as a shield while the Gatling gun unloaded into it. It shot a torrent of bullets into the chest of the smaller Raptor quickly piercing through its chest armour and tearing through the electronics within. Quick on his feet, Arrow faced the wall running himself up it, vaulting over the heads of both Raptors. He grabbed hold of the shock tail before it could strike him stabbing it between the gatling gun and the big Raptors shoulder. Its entire body became electrified but it could still move. It slammed Arrow into the wall pinning him and transferring some of the shock to him in the process. Jaz moved to help but Canary held her back. “Let him handle this.” Arrow reached up ripping the gatling gun off its shoulder by using both of his feet to kick it away. The second his feet hit the ground Arrow dropped low, lunging forward underneath its tail as it tried to whip him to position the gun in the crook of its neck. The bullets easily pierced through the thin, scale-like armour there, destroying its core. Both machines fell to the floor in a smoking heap, the light in their eyes turning off before they’d hit the ground. “Impressive.” Black Canary said, stepping over the two unconscious men to join Green Arrow.
“Spar me when we get back on the Watchtower and I can show you a thing or two,” Green Arrow joked, kicking the pile of metal Raptors aside just in time for the elevator to show up. Jaz hit the button to Maxmellius’s office, as well as the button to the floor just below it.
She explained the layout of the walkway. “There’s no way down to Hero’s cage from Max’s office, so I’m going to stop one floor early and try to find it myself. I think I’d spotted the way from the walkway anyways. You two can meet me there once you find what you need in his office.”
“We shouldn’t split up.” Green Arrow shook his head. “We’ll head to the office first, find out where the rest of the heroes are being kept, then we’ll get your friend.” He placed his hand on Jaz, she could tell he was trying to be reassuring again, but she had no intention of taking no for an answer this time. Another explosion ripped through the facility knocking Jaz off balance into Arrow’s chest. The elevators went pitch black and the emergency breaks sent everyone into the ceiling, before crashing back down.
“Damn! The emergency power is out now.” Green Arrow spoke as he helped Jaz to her feet. He pried open the doors pulling them halfway open. The Elevator was between floors, the top half of the doors opened to the lower floor where Jaz wanted to go.
“I think I can squeeze through. You two try and get to Max’s office while I help Hero out. I’m just going to slow you down if you ask me to climb an elevator shaft.” Jaz hopped up, grabbing onto the ledge. Using her foot against the wall as leverage she pulled herself over the ledge and out of the elevator. “Meet me at Hero’s cage, if you keep going straight from Max’s office you’ll be right there!”
“Kid, wait!” Green Arrow couldn’t react in time before she dashed down the hall. He turned to Black Canary, “Why didn’t you stop her?”
“I trust she knows what she’s doing,” Canary replied from the hatch she’d found on the roof. She was already out of it and on top of the elevator. By the time Arrow squeezed through the hatch she was already halfway up the wall.
Arrow climbed up after Black Canary, sparing a final glance after the girl. “I just hope she isn’t some hot shot kid who’s in over her head.”
Meanwhile, Jaz picked her way through the empty halls, peeking around every corner she came across just in case. She was no longer jogging confidently like she had when she had them with her, instead tip toeing around trying to make as little noise as possible. She knew she last saw Hero on the factory floor where they’d gotten captured and when she’d been up on the glass walkway she’d spotted another door on the other side of it that seemed to be in the right spot. She tried to remember the mantra she’d been repeating days prior, but the rumbling that kept rocking through the base and the fact that she was alone made it hard to concentrate. She stopped, pressing her back against a wall. “I can do this. I can do this. Jaz, just keep your head high, focus… What would Superman do in this situation.” A nervous laugh burst from her lips. “Superman wouldn’t be this scared trying to find his friends.” She took another deep breath, slowly letting it out before she started on her way again. Calmer now, she was able to pick her way through the halls until met with the same metal cylindrical doors that had opened for her previously. They were closed now, and it looked like they had no power to them anyways. She tried to pry one open, but aside from breaking a nail nothing happened.
Frustrated, Jaz looked around for what to do. How would they solve this problem in the comics? They would solve it with their powers... Ok, what about Batman though. He had no powers. Jaz ran her fingers through her hair, looking up in exasperation. Right above her was a ceiling vent. “Oh yeah.”
Jaz struggled longer than she’d wanted to trying to reach the vent. The code to the laboratory worked on the doors down the hall but she still had to push them open manually, which was a feat and a half on its own for her. Once inside she wheeled a chair to the vent and struggled to pull herself up through the tiny hole. The ordeal didn’t end once inside either. Her heart was pounding and it was hard to breath in the cramped space. It was so tight she was unable to turn around and that idea alone was sending her into a panic. Biting her lip, she pushed herself forward. The thought of Hero weakly staring up at her from that glass cage was enough to trump the fear she was feeling now. Every ten feet was another vent opening she could use to peer down and check her progress. The first one she came across she was already on the other side of ten fancy doors he’d had installed in the place.
Why the villain never thought to secure the filtration systems always dumbfounded her. Jaz was well past the doors when the vent took a sharp turn upwards travelling perpendicular to the curved walls lining the factory floor. At the end of the line, she finally had to leave the safety of the vents and drop down on the factory floor. She winced as she hit the ground at an angle, flopping over. Sharp stabs of pain radiated up her legs. Black Canary and Arrow had made dropping ten feet look so easy to do gracefully but Jaz had nearly twisted her ankle just there.
The factory floor was currently unmanned, and the recent power surge had stopped all the machines mid assembly. There were five conveyor belts feeding parts to the assembly bays with four giant machine arms sprouting from the floor for each one. Jaz crept through the room, dashing between machines and trying to use them as cover all while scanning the room between bursts for any signs enemies. She’d nearly made it to the other side where the small hallway was hidden when two thugs appeared in the door forcing Jaz to scramble behind cover again.
One was cursing and jogging past while the other yelled after him, “Come on Gary, we’re supposed to guard the room!”
Gary cursed back, “I’m not risking my life for some creepy old man with a dog fetish.”
“Think of the money, Gary!” His friend spoke as if he wanted to stay, but he quickly glanced behind his shoulder as if he was expecting something to jump out at him before he rushed to join his friend.
“What money? We ain’t getting paid, and now some fucking werewolf is coming right for us! I’m out, if you wanna die in this place suit yourself but I’m going back to Taboo. At least they’ll pay us on time.” They continued to argue all the way across the factory floor, completely oblivious to Jaz who hadn’t hidden herself well. They passed right by.
The room they’d left was full of cells that used the same force field-like technology as she’d faced in her room. There was a total of eight, but only six were in use. There was a small office to one side where it looked like the guards rested and watched their charges, inside it had several chests and what appeared to be Green Arrow’s bow resting against the wall.
At the back of the room was another hall leading further in where Jaz paused. Everything inside her wanted to move forward and find Hero, but she couldn’t just leave these men here. Especially after hearing that Brin could be headed this way. She let out a frustrated sigh, turning back towards the cells. Beside each one was a keypad just like her old cell and she knew by one look at each one they all used different codes. Some showed no signs of regular use except one.
“Icon?” Jaz’s voice was barely a whisper but even so the man stirred. “Oh! You’re awake. Just sit tight I’m gonna try and figure out a way to get you out.” The man struggled to pull himself up before slumping down. Kneeling in front of the keypad she could see some greasy stains on three numbers, but she had no clue how long the code was or which order they’d be in.
Her ears pricked. Glancing around she realized Icon was trying to say something. “What was that?”
“Notepad.” She stared into his dull eyes for a moment before she realized.
“Oh! They keep the passcodes on a notepad?” She didn’t wait to see him nod, springing back across the room towards the office. It was square, lined with desks and surrounded on all walls with thick glass; and it was locked. She cursed under her breath, this was the one door that didn’t need a passcode, it needed a key. She peered through the glass instead, spotting the notepad immediately. Pressing herself into the window, Jaz was able to make out the codes on the first page attached with which cell number they went to. The moment the shielding fell she rushed to his side. “Are you ok?”
“I’ll be fine, child. Go see that the others are ok.” His voice was barely a whisper, and his lips were chapped, his dark skin sunken in. They’d at least allowed him to stay dressed in his uniform, though all his gadgets were taken from him. She helped him up, carrying him to the center of the room before she went to work on the other cells. The sheet she’d read from only had three of the six passcodes she’d need.

Jojen Reed (Game of Thrones) Appearance Guide
Played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster
This list is relating to the HBO Max, US layout. This list contains Game of Thrones Spoilers since most of the episodes have descriptions. I may do a non-spoiler list in the future.
If I have missed any episodes, please comment below and I’ll add the episode. This does not include manga, books, video games, or movies. This also does not include mentions. Only appearances.
Tumblr media
Season 3
S3E2 - The first appearance of Jojen. Jojen appears in front of Bran in a dream of Bran’s while he was trying to shot a crow with an arrow. Jojen then appears again later in the episode, in real life, when Bran and Osha were resting. Jojen quiets Summer when the wolf was continually growling at him, and his sister Meera, by simply letting Summer sniff his hand and looking him the eyes. Again, later in the show, Jojen is walking with Bran and the rest of them on a road. Jojen talks about the three eyed raven with Bran, and how Bran can get into Summers head while he’s dreaming. Jojen then says he will get better with practice, and tells him he’s a wrag. They also talk about Jojen and Meera’s father, and how their father told Bran about the rebellion, as well as saved Ned Stark during it.
S3E4 - Jojen helps Bran in his dream while he’s trying to get the three eyed crow. After the dream ends, he’s by the fire watching Bran wake up.
S3E6 - While Jojen is sleeping, he starts having a seizure, so Meera coaxs him through it, and explains to everyone that this happens when Jojen has visions. When he waked up, Jojen tells Bran he saw John Snow on the wrong side of the wall with enemies.
S3E7 - Osha gets mad at Jojen for telling Bran about what is happening to him, him having warg abilities, and for only sitting around talking with Bran instead of helping Osha and the others.
S3E9 - He’s sitting in the old windmill with the rest of the Bran “squad” XD. Just talking. Then, they see a bunch of riders (wildlings) on horses near the windmill. If only they knew, the wildlings are with Bran’s brother John Snow. Jojen instructs Bran how to use his warg powers like he just did by accident to keep Hodor quiet. Later in the episode, Jojen and the rest of Bran’s “squad” are still in the old windmill. Jojen explains to Bran that his warg powers are special, and that he shouldn’t be able to get into a person mind, but he did.
A/N - This episode makes me cry, and it has nothing to do with Jojen as to why 😭⬆️
S3E10 - Jojen, Hodor, and Meera listen to Bran’s horrific story about a man that served his guest the guests own son to eat (by making him into a pie). And how that man, the one that murdered his guests son, was cursed afterwards. Later in the episode, Jojen meets Sam and Gilly. Sam tried to convince Bran to come to Castle Black, but Jojen tells them he knows about the white walkers, and getting Bran north of the wall is too important to be afraid of the dangers north of the wall. Again, later, Jojen is there when Sam explains to everyone what the dragon glass is for.
Season 4
S4E2 - After Bran wakes up from being inside Summers body/mind, Jojen explains to him it’s not good to stay in Summers head for to long. Since he’ll forget everyone and everything he knows about being human. Then, they all walk until they find a tree with red leaves and a faces carved on it. One of the sacred trees.
S4E4 - While resting for the night, Jojen and the rest of them hear a baby cry. The baby that’s supposed to be a sacrifice for the white walkers. Jojen is starting to look very sick during this episode. To help save Summer and John Snow’s wolf Ghost, they all go to the camp that’s now over run by ex night watchers. While sneaking around, they get caught when Meera decided she doesn’t want to a part of the rescue and begins to leave. Jojen begins to have a vision seizure while one of the ex night watch are interrogating them.
S4E5 - While they are all tied up, Jojen tells Bran he can’t give up. He sees a vision of a special tree behind Bran, and says it’s waiting for him - that, “this isn’t the end.” A little later, the ex nights watch chain Meera up in chins while standing up. To try and save his sister, Jojen tells the men he can help him with his “sight.” But then, one man threatens Jojen with what they are going to do to his sister Meera. A little pissed by the threat, Jojen tells him he saw his bones after his death. They all think they’re getting saved by the nights watch, but instead one of the men is taking Bran. Luckily, that doesn’t happen since Bran uses his warg abilities on Hodor. Jojen then convinced Bran to not let John Snow know he’s there, so they can continue to go to the three eyed raven.
S4E10 - They all get to the three eyed raven’s tree. While walking to the cave that meets with the tree, a skeleton grabs onto Jojen’s leg, pulling him halfway into the ice. Meera tries to help, but as she gets the skeletons hold off of him, more skeletons come out of the ice. Meera, Jojen, and Hodor who’s being controlled by Bran, are fighting off the skeletons. At one point, while Jojen is on the ground, a skeleton repeatedly stabs him in the stomach. This is where he says his finale goodbyes to Meera, and she cuts his throat for a quick death. This is the last “living” scene of Jojen Reed.

So me and my friend have been playing The Quarry (the spirital sequel to Until Dawn) and I just wanted to ramble about some thoughts/story changes I would've wanted. Spoilers under the read more.
As a general note this is the status of all the characters in our first and currently only finished playthrough: Conselors: Laura (Alive but imprisoned), Max (Killed by Caleb in Chp. 10), Abigail (Killed by Nick in Chp. 6), Kaitlyn (Killed by Caleb in Chp. 10), Nick (Alive but infected), Emma (Killed by Max in Chp. 4), Ryan (Died by bleeding out in Chp. 9), Dylan (Killed by Caleb in Chp. 10), Jacob (Alive) Other Characters: Chris (Killed by Ryan in Chp. 9), Travis (Alive), Jedediah (Alive), Bobby (Alive), Constance (Killed by Laura in Chp. 9), Caleb (Alive), The White Wolf (Alive and literally not mentioned in the playthrough until the who is alive/dead montage)
Ending: 9/10 Evidence pieces found (Attack Photo was missing). Remaining Hackett Family members arrested for the murder of the two missing hikers.
I think the map is a really cool feature, it helps to actually know the layout of the place we're spending time, even if I don't think the travel time between characters ever comes up.
Max being playable really feels tacked on so they can say 9 playable characters. His choice of 50/50 dead/alive feels cheap, especially when he's had nothing prior to do in game. They could've very easily given him a scene or two in the police station, or given him a chase sequence so his death could at least feel justified and not a random chance.
Harum Scarum feels really weird for a circus that was meant to be happening in 2015. Like I had assumed the circus plotline was meant to be at least a couple of decades back, like the miners in Until Dawn or the prologue storylines of Man of Medan and Little Hope. Like it felt really strange for a circus with such an old aesthetic to be so modern. I admit, I don't frequent circuses so maybe I'm missing something but I just thought it was out of place.
Sticking to the same topic, the tarot system is interesting. I like the aesthetic and having to choose which premonition you want to see adds a little more thinking onto the system, but that makes it really frustrating that some of the premonitions are just really bad. Now, the other games also have some bad premonitions a lot of them, but in the other games you can view all the premonitions so you can't miss a very useful one simply because you picked up a not useful one. This, combined with the fact that we couldn't find any way to make the premonition viewed bigger like in the previous game just made then feel a lot less useful. We literally got two that were events that were guaranteed to happen with the Chariot (which always happens, and therefore seems a bit odd of a premonition in the first place) and the Sun showed us Jacob alive, our final scene with Jacob put him in no danger. Also, while we didn't collect it The Hierophant is a really cool scene, I wish you could always get it and that it didn't come at the cost of one of the other premonitions. Also a kinda funny side note is my friend who I was playing with actually reads tarots and seeing their expressions at Eliza's reading of each card was a highlight.
Final problem related to the tarot, collecting them feels very annoying. The idea of them being in the camera angles and not physically being collected by the characters is cool, but it makes them really easy to miss because the camera angle will only switch at very specific points. A very clear example of this is the prologue where there's two paths around the area where the Fool is for seemingly no reason but making it possible to miss the card. Obviously the cards should be missable, but having to walk through every possible path of giant open areas to try and find them when they don't even have the advance of the other collectable of being highlighted when close to them, felt a little frustrating.
Some of the paths seem a little miss leading or don't really lead to anything, but that might be lessened with later playthroughs.
Lastly, we experienced a couple of glitches throughout the game. Most of them were visual issues, with clues and evidence only loading in as we interacted with them, or Abigail's hair shaking rapidly up and down during her talk with Nick in the pool house. Then there was some audio bugs where dialogue would restart or repeat as it had started before the visuals weren't ready, or the lines had continued into the pause screen. However, we also had a glitch where, I assume from shooting too close to the end of the timer, we had Abi shoot Nick, but then the game not register that and Nick killing her anyway. The tiles didn't get shoot of the walk either so I don't think we missed the shot. It was just a bit confusing.
Overall, I do really like the game. Don't take my ramblings as the game being bad, I just like the ramble about my thoughts and if I disliked the game I would not be spending so much time thinking about it. If you want a fun slasher experience and liked Until Dawn, you'll like the Quarry. And I can't wait for The Devil in Me to come out for more horror experience (this time, hopefully, Jigsaw style).

Lost in Space Part 10: Ch 5
Previous
Summary: Significant changes have occurred while she was unconscious. One of them includes the imprisonment of Syco. Part 10 deals with the unnamed Space Explorer’s reconciliation.
Lost in Space on Tumblr
Lost in Space on ao3
Shiitakee and I came barging back into the ship’s command center panting and sweating from cutting what was supposed to take fifteen minutes from the basement to the center by walking to a forth by running. My running companion is gripping the door frame as he tries to catch his breath. Between breaths, he mumbles how he needs to cut back on smoking as I include myself into the meeting at hand, which continues to proceed even with our unexpected, loud arrival. I take my position at Saamuki’s right. She and several Tauvoxes, high-ranking ones, including the lieutenant, of course, are looking down at the large holographic three-dimensional layout of what I can only guess is Commander Knox’s spaceship. One of the rooms, a big one, is missing. So, there’s a giant hole in the middle of the illustration. I don’t get the chance to guess what it is because when Saamuki points at it, she figures it out for me.
“That must be where the ship’s crystal is, but why isn’t its room showing up?”
One of the Tauvoxes, who I’ve only seen one other time, which was when Syco carried the three of us back on the ship, speaks up after saluting her. “Pardon me, Commander Saamuki, but is it really wise to stage an assault on Commander Knox? They outnumber us one to ten million and most of them are our own.”
I only caught a glimpse of him the last time I saw him. Now that he’s standing to my left, I can see his brown fur has sprinkles of white and grey. His body type is similar to the others in that he is muscular and about double either mine or Saamuki’s heights, but he’s wider. His stomach is protruding. There’s a scar over his left eye, and a small metal pole has replaced the bottom half of his right leg. The captain, as I soon learn his rank, truly fits the physical description of a pirate.
“Captain, if it comes to that, we just have to give it our all. That being said, our best option should be having a small group sneaking onto the ship and assassinating Knox while he’s busy conquering that planet. Rescue the others as well, but finding Shiitakee should be our priority.”
“Then, I volunteer to go, Commander Saamuki,” the lieutenant offered. He saluted when Saamuki made eye contact with him.
“No. We can’t afford to bring any Tauvox with us. This mission requires stealth. Besides, you’ve proven you can keep this entire ship from blowing up.”
“That would put you at four hours if Commander Knox defeats Commander Zel in the time I calculated, which my calculations are never wrong.” This Tauvox standing right across from Saamuki would look like any other Tauvox, but his fur is longer than the rest. He tied the ones on his head into a ponytail, which looks like a wolf’s tail because of its aged appearance. He gets out a screen and tosses it towards us. Once it’s right above the replica of the enemy ship, it changes into three shapes. One is a large ball and the second is a dot slowly inching towards the larger shape. The third is a clock that shows how much time we have left. We’re at eleven hours, twenty minutes, and thirty seconds. “With such limited time, Commander Saamuki, if none of us can join you in such an imperative mission, one that will decide the fate of the entire Universe, who could possibly qualify then?”
All these men had their eyes on her. As someone who was once a sex worker and one who still looks like one, even with her conservative outfit, the look of these men isn’t of lust. They are hungry, yes, but not for a taste of Saamuki. Instead, those eyes hungered for answers and hope, hope for their commander to make the right decision.
The fate of quadrillions is in the hands of us—a snake possessed by some nonbinary ghost, a mushroom with a smoking addiction, and a human with a magical crown. They flew towards Commander Knox’s spaceship using Saamuki’s much smaller spaceship. Her Tauvoxes are following not too far away. Commander Knox had apparently defeated Commander Zel an hour earlier than predicted, which got a rise out of the ponytailed Tauvox. While the three of us didn’t show how anxious we are, I could feel it in the room. Shiitakee and I stayed silent. While piloting her ship Saamuki mentioned how we’re finally getting the others back, but I didn’t vocalize my excitement.
I didn’t vocalize anything because I was far from excited, even if I’ve been longing for this moment. I just sat and watched the stars fly past us, looking like lines because of how fast this tiny ship was going, with the outfit I copied from my dream using my crown. I did look at Saamuki, though. Without words, we shared something, and that was acknowledging our contingency plan. If we failed, then one of us would need to stay behind while the others escaped. The one that does would have to detonate Knox’s crystal. That would instantly kill everyone in a hundred-mile radius. Not even an overpowered Watcher could survive such an explosion, which would mean the one that would stay behind wouldn’t either. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen. I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen.
Quadrant Eighty-Five. The planet is called Vecta. It’s the same as I remember it. Its moons light up the night sky, this rocky landscape, and its light glints around the edges of those ahead, on the other side of this boulder. I can see Tauvoxes, Virmuses, and other alien species fighting on Knox’s side. No signs of Skeema, Ashley, Mikrovos, or even Khavas. They clash against the Talten’s blazing weapons and the weapons of the other figures. I spot a red-painted symbol, which is glowing, on one of the wrists of the Talten’s allies. Not only may Licata be part of the fight but Sakhra too. Saamuki doesn’t know who she is, of course, but I can see she realizes the same thing I do in the case of her long-time rock friend. She turns to us with fiery blue eyes. “We have a mission. We can worry about the fight later. Come on you two while everyone is busy fighting each other.”
Saamuki, with a blaster far more superior than the ones we used in the beginning, is the one in front leading us to Knox’s ship that’s about a yard away. I’m in the middle with my dagger in one hand and my own blaster in the other. It’s just as strong as the one in her grip. Before we separated from her Tauvoxes, I watched her test them. They went through five walls of what’s been her ship for about two days now. It nearly took off an inch of the Tauvox in one of the rooms she shot through. Luckily he dodged just in time, or he would’ve joined Apulsion in the afterlife. Shiitakee is last in case he needs to omit one of his gases and is empty-handed. What he can do with that cap compensates for his lack of weaponry.
With every step we took to bring us closer to the spaceship ahead, the louder the battle to our left became even though they continued to be well far away from us. Screams are heard as well as curses to Knox’s followers. Hundreds of blasters are going off, probably from the Virmuses, but only a Talten is heard collapsing from the shots. Horns, those from Tauvoxes, rip through flesh, and screams follow suit, but Knox’s side isn’t in complete control of the battle. I smelt flesh being burned. Some of the Taltens set a few Tauvoxes, which howled to the night sky, on fire. Sakhra’s group is pulling their weight in the fight, hitting the opposing side with their symbols.
In the corner of my eye, Sakhra’s group slaughters hundreds on Knox’s side. I can’t even imagine how many have been killed. The battlefield must be covered in bodies, blood, and whatever insects are on this planet. While over here, it sounds brutal enough; the fight taking place above our heads doesn’t seem too merciless either. Several factions of Space Pirates are shooting at each other. Thousands are probably fighting outside of their ships, fighting out in space. There must be hundreds of corpses floating out in outer space now.
One of the ships catches my eyes. Banners stretch over their sides. Those long strips of cloth have the symbol of the Lords, which means one of the battalions has joined the fight. This must be their last stand against Commander Knox, but Saamuki’s Tauvoxes aren’t taking part in it. Knox would know we’re here if they were, but the lieutenant is in command of the ship if they’re spotted.
Saamuki activated her screen, which has the layout of the ship. She took a moment to study it, and then she motions for it to vanish. “Shiitakee, this will take a bit. Watch out backs and,” she turns to me then continues with, “Make sure both of your weapons are at the ready in case there’s someone on the other side.” With that, she held down her blaster’s trigger, causing it to become a blowtorch. Sparks flew, and the metal groaned as its being forced to tear. I held my weapons even tighter as she got closer to finishing. When the piece finally gave way, we were thankfully not greeted by someone pointing their blaster at our heads but instead a four-sided hole the right size for each of us to easily slide into and enter a dimly lit room with flickering lights and some crates. The room must be for storage. Our leader’s eyes are fully engulfed in blue. Then, as quickly as they swallowed the rest of her eyes, they went back to just filling her pupils.
“I didn’t see anyone in the room. So, let’s go.”
We stepped inside. The room is far more expansive than what it looked like on the outside. It’s about the size of the library, but a lot colder. Someone set the air conditioner to the max, it seems. I’m shivering even with this armor. Shiitakee is too, but not Saamuki. She has her supernatural powers to thank for that.
For such a big room, there isn’t much in here. We walk past a few crates as tall as Shiitakee. “Those boxes are giving me the creeps. Please, can we walk a bit faster? They’re weirding me out and I’ve been friends with Syco for years.”
Saamuki jokingly remarks, “I’ve known Cabelo all my life and I have to tell you Syco has nothing on Cabelo.”
“Cabelo? That guy that owns that whole sex hotel? That Cabelo?” She nods. “I knew you looked familiar, but I wasn’t sure since you’re you know wearing that whole get up. Never heard that you had the whole blue thing going on until, well, we met, but it’s really cool. I wish I could do what you can. I would’ve shot Syco a long time ago.”
She giggles. “I haven’t always been able to shoot fire out of my hands. My powers are recent. It has some ups and downs too.” She shrugs.
“You got to tell me the story behind it, especially how you and her met. A human. Wow. I mean Syco already told me a long time ago, but I’d still love to hear it from you two. Also, about your friends that are on this ship. Who’s Mikrovos? Syco complained about him plenty.”
I felt the tension emanating from Saamuki. She is facing away from me, but I just know the mention of Mikrovos made her uncomfortable. Her vibe is making me uncomfortable, but Shiitakee hasn’t noticed. Our backstories must’ve distracted him from his worries, but I get a terrible feeling. So, I slide the dagger underneath my breastplate, grab Saamuki’s hand, and bolt towards the door. Shiitakee follows suit but asks what’s happening while he’s trying to catch up with us. Saamuki is questioning too. Both are answered when a hand to my left smashes through its wooden container. We’ve run past it, and I try not to look back around, but it’s Shiitakee’s cursing that gets me then Saamuki to glance back. An oozy, hairless, and eyeless body goes splat onto the metal floor. Their mouth opens, or what is supposed to be one does, as strands of skin have stuck parts of their lips together. They struggle to make a noise. They muster out a groan and begin crawling towards us. Their slime spreads around them and trails behind them as they slither closer to us. When we’re right about to exit through the door, they reach their hand towards us. I turn back around and force myself, with Saamuki still holding onto me, to sprint the distance left. Once the two of us then Shiitakee finally escape, I get out my blaster and shoot the door’s control panel. Whatever it is won’t be reaching us anytime soon.
As the three of us try catching out breaths, Shiitakee comments, “Thanks for almost leaving me back there. A little warning next time, don’t you think, but what the hell was even that? Saamuki, I thought you said you didn’t see anyone in that room?”
“I-I didn’t. It must not have a soul.” I’m hit with another sense. I look away from them. My grip on Saamuki tightens. I’m standing stiff. “What’s wrong,” she asked me.
I respond to her, “Her.” On the other side of the hallway is a red-headed figure. Unlike the last time I saw her, she’s been fitted with gauntlets that stretch to her elbows. Like before, her eyes are dead.
“Who’s she?” Shiitakee finally looks to where Saamuki and I are looking.
“Ashely,” I told him.

I Travel Troubled Oceans: Chapter 10 - In Which Jack Hosts A Fashion Show
Jack is finally ready for his first runway show, after months of work and agonizing over every small detail and making sure he keeps up appearances as a flighty party boy with enough money that he doesn't need to have talent or ambition.
But he's honestly quite proud of how everything has turned out. He's tailored the runway fashions for the trendy, upscale gallery that's hosting the show, of course, so everything is very modern and very stark. There are a lot of geometric shapes, structured collars, plunging triangular necklines and sideslits, things like that. Lots of metallic black fabrics.
It's all very cyberpunk dystopia - but chic. Because the upper echelons of society will commodify and romanticize everything, including the surveillance state.
It does appear to be a successful strategy, however. Mary has been taking pictures of his work throughout the process. Pictures that are framed to hint, to tantalize, but not to actually reveal anything. And there's been significant hype building around the show. Some of the backstage photos from the runway rehearsal have even appeared in the society sections of various newspapers. Which nobody really reads anymore, but Jack's Instagram account has simultaneously blown up, so that's probably a better indication that he's on the right track with this designer nonsense.
And he's had no trouble filling seats at the show itself. Since it's all rich assholes in attendance, they'd never do anything so gauche as to charge admission, but there's an understanding that everyone who attends the event will provide a hefty (and tax deductible, after some creative accounting) donation to both the art gallery and Jack's little design company. And Kaylen has used her extensive network of snooty art acquaintances to make sure there are plenty of critics in the audience, which should help get his name out there in the fashion world so he can start broadening their field of influence.
So the last thing that remains to be done is to personally invite the Councilor to the show. Not only because Jack is trying to develop a deeper friendship with him (and thereby cement his influence over any and all planning decisions) but also because Max wants to form another sort of relationship with Councilor Featherstone. Ie. she wants one of her girls to start “dating” the esteemed Councilor and whispering sweet nothings about their competitors into his ear instead of pillow talk. Which is also why Jack's throwing an after party at his house where the invitees can mingle with the models, get to know them a little better.
Jack had initially been rather uncomfortable with this plan. Mostly because he doesn't like people in his house messing up his things. But also because this feels just slightly skeevy in a way he hasn't been before. He's a con and a killer and a dealer, but he's not a pimp.
But when he'd talked to the girls about this plan, they'd seemed surprised at his reservations. One girl - Jackie – had even asked if the Councilor was, quote, wicked and seemed disappointed when Jack told her he had the sexual charisma of a bowl of lukewarm oatmeal. And Jack supposes it's their job, so they know what they're getting themselves into.
So he finds himself at the office building downtown (a pricey piece of real estate if Jack's ever seen one) to personally extend the glossy black invitation to both fashion show and after party to Councilor Featherstone. Who apparently has not yet grasped e-vites as a concept. And anyway, it's the personal touch that leaves a lasting impression.
And Charles has elected to accompany Jack, for whatever reason. He seems familiar with desk security and the building layout at least. Which is, perhaps, suspicious. As are the wary glances Councilor Featherstone's second in command – a man who's doing much what Max wants them to do in terms of filtering exactly what proposals actually reach the Councilor's desk, although his criteria for acceptance is more in line with being rich and titled and not a dirty foreigner - keeps giving Charles through Featherstone's glass door.
Charles's self satisfied smirk is not particularly encouraging either.
But he'd rather have any potential adversaries cowed as apposed to actively antagonistic. And Counselor Featherstone is more than happy to receive an invitation to his good friend Jack's debut fashion show. With front row seats to ensure that he gets a good look at all the models as they parade past on the catwalk. And Max's second sitting next to him - because Featherstone doesn't seem like the sort to approach a woman of his own volition and they'll need some indication of who to throw at him later tonight.
Jack's stupid fashion show is giving Anne a bitch of a headache. He's running around backstage in a fucking tizzy, because someone's makeup isn't quite right or they're wearing the wrong style of jewelry or a dozen other fucking things. And Anne's supposed to be coordinating this mess – as if that's fucking possible.
At least she's good at glaring and rude hand gestures. That appears to be all that's required to get the DJs – some poor fucks Max has by the balls – to get their shit set up and now there's some pumping electronic shit going as all the rich fucks mingle and drink cocktails, waiting for the show to start.
Fortunately, Eme'd been the one to recommend the caterers and other than pointing towards the kitchen and telling them when the show starts, she hasn't had to deal with them. And Mary's running around taking pictures of all the models and dresses and shit but she spares Anne a quick smile whenever they cross paths. So it could be worse.
And then Anne's pressed into lining up all the models in order and cuing when they're supposed to go out, so she's too busy to hear Jack's little speech at the start of the show. But by the polite applause he gets, it's a pretty good one – always been silver tongued, Jack has, and that ain't changed any with this new venture.
And it turns out he's pretty good at the whole designer thing too, which had been a surprise. Anne doesn't think much of the outfits – completely impracticable and all ugly weird dresses - but all these posh idiots are eating this shit up, if you take into account the fact that rich people excitement is a lot less loud than normal people excitement. The after party is sure to loosen them up, at least.
Jack slumps against the wall, absolutely exhausted. The fashion show had gone well, with several of the critics and many of the various high society invitees coming up to congratulate him afterwards. He's the darling of the upper crust for a night.
And in order to cement that for the future, he's in the process of throwing the mother of all parties – champagne, blow, stupid finger foods with gold leaf on them. The sort of club music that keeps coked up partiers on the dancefloor all night. And it's all getting to be a bit much.
Anne and Mary have already disappeared upstairs to bed, and Jack dearly wishes he could join them. Or at least meander in their general direction – he doubts they want him in their bed. Particularly because they're probably not even attempting to sleep what with all the noise downstairs.
And Jack doesn't really feel like laying awake for hours in his empty bed while Anne and Mary fuck down the hall, even if he wasn't bound by his persona to stay until the party ended or the sun rose. And it's starting to look like sunup will be the earlier of the two conditions, so it's just as well he's a jobless layabout who can sleep all day tomorrow.
At least Counselor Featherstone looks to be having fun with Idelle, all tucked into a sort of quiet corner with her and staring shamelessly at her tits. Which are quite noticeable in the dress she's wearing, to be fair. But Jack doesn't particularly want to spend his night thinking about that either.
So he turns on his heel and weaves through the crowd until he's reached the French doors leading to the little patio out back. He needs a minute – just one minute – of quiet and calm. Just a minute to catch his breath before he heads back into the heaving throng.
He walks out to the edge of the lawn and lets out a long sigh, head tipped towards the heavens.
“Get sick of the party, Jack?”
Charles emerges from the dark, only the glowing cherry of his cigar lighting his face, making his eyes gleam in a way that would be terrifying if Jack didn't know him so well.
But he does know Charles, so he just turns toward him, slumps against him in exhaustion. “I'll admit, it's a little harder to make it through these things without enough blow to keep an entire 80's office building supplied.”
Charles grins. “Or you're just getting old.”
“And what does that say about you, Chaz?” Jack leans back to look him in the eye. “You're the one out here in the dark all by yourself. Maybe you're the one getting too old for this shit.”
Charles eyes the house and all the guests making a disgusting mess all over Jack's fancy furniture. It's unbelievable, and he's spent his whole life, minus the last few months, living on the streets or in derelict drug dens.
“Don't know that I was ever young enough for this particular shit. Want to pretend to be desperate for a fuck and go hide upstairs?”
Jack considers it for a long moment, torn between responsibility to Max and his desire to escape the party. But fear of Max wins out – she can make is life awfully difficult. And that's without Anne giving him unimpressed looks on her behalf.
“Want to pretend to make out on the dancefloor instead?”
Charles grins. “Ok, but don't get pissy at me for grabbing your ass.” And he proceeds to steer Jack into the house and out into the middle of the dancefloor by doing just that, to the cheers and wolf whistles of everyone close enough to understand what he's doing.
Which is a fair number, because Charles is not exactly known for being subtle. And then he sticks his tongue down Jack's throat.
“I hope you know this means I'm spending tomorrow braiding your hair in retaliation,” Jack growls at him, when he's finally let up for air. “And I will give you pigtails.”
Charles just laughs, so apparently it's not a enough of a threat. Jack will find something truly menacing at some point. He swears.

Thornak
Bugbear Path of the Totem Warrior Barbarian
Game Info
Abilities
For ability scores the top three that would be focused are Strength, Dexterity, & Constitution, in that order. While others might put CON before DEX, having a high Dex will play well with Thornak’s playstyle and use of stealth.
Race
Using the info in Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Bugbears have +2 STR & +1 DEX, they’re Medium size, have a base speed of 30ft, Darkvision up to 60ft, count as Large when determining carrying capacity & weight they can manipulate, and are proficient in Stealth. Other traits of note for Bugbears are Long-Limbed & Surprise Attack.
With the trait Long-Limbed, when making a melee attack on their turn the reach of bugbears are 5ft greater than normal, allowing Thornak to make melee attacks at creatures within 10ft of him. With the trait Surprise Attack, if Thornak surprises a creature & hits it with an attack on his first turn in combat, the attack deals an extra 2d6 damage, usable once per combat.
As for languages known, bugbears typically know Common & Goblin, and while I could’ve used “Customize Your Origin” from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything since it’d make more sense for Thornak to know Elvish, this can be remedied via Background.
Background
For Background I’d go with Outlander due to Thornak’s upbringing away from settlements & his time among the tribes. With this Background Thornak gains proficiency with Athletics & Survival, one type of musical instrument, and one language of choice (which is obviously Elvish). For the musical instrument I’d go with a lute or lyre, something I could’ve seen him playing while being raised by the elves and I also enjoy the thought of a big bugbear plucking at strings with his claws.
With Outlander Thornak also has the Wanderer feature, giving him excellent memory for maps & geography, he can always recall the general layout of terrain & settlements & other features around him. In addition he can find food & fresh water for himself & up to five other people each day, provided the land can provide such things.
Class
I won’t go into every feature of the Barbarian class, but I will touch on the ones I find important for Thornak and his Primal Path, the Path of the Totem Warrior.
With the Barbarian class Thornak’s Hit Dice is a d12, he’s proficient in light & medium armor as well as shields, in addition to simple & medium weapons. He’s proficient in STR & CON saving throws, and from the list of potential skill proficiencies I’d go with Nature & Perception.
Three features Thornak would get relatively early on as a Barbarian that’d serve him well are Unarmored Defense at Lv. 1, Danger Sense at Lv. 2, & Feral Instinct at Lv. 7. With Unarmored Defense Thornak’s Armor Class equals 10 + his DEX modifier + his CON modifier when he isn’t wearing armor, but he can still use a shield with this feature, which plays well with how Thornak doesn’t wear armor. With Danger Sense Thornak has advantage on DEX saving throws against effects that he can see, including traps & spells, so Thornak’s high DEX works well. And finally with Feral Instinct Thornak has advantage on Initiative rolls, which make good use with attacking from Stealth, and if he’s surprised at the beginning of combat & not incapacitated he can act normally on his first turn, but only if he Rages before doing anything else.
Thornak doesn’t get his Primal Path until Level 3, with in-character reasoning for this being that up until this point he’s still proving himself to his Wolf totem spirit. The Primal Path chosen is Path of the Totem Warrior, which gives him access to three spells over the course of reaching Lv. 10, but more noteworthy are the features Totem Spirit, Aspect of the Beast, and Totemic Attunement, for which all three choices will be Wolf.
With Totem Spirit at Lv. 3, Thornak’s allies have advantage on melee attacks rolls against any creature within 5ft of Thornak while he is raging and the creature is hostile to him. With Aspect of the Beast at Lv. 6 Thornak’s able to track other creatures while traveling at a fast pace & he’s able to move stealthily while traveling at a normal pace. And finally with Totemic Attunement at Lv. 14 while raging Thornak can use a bonus action on his turn to knock a Large or smaller creature prone when he hits it with a melee weapon attack.
Feats
In total Thornak could possibly take 5 feats over the course of reaching Lv. 20, at Levels 4, 8, 12, 16, & 19. Below are the feats I would choose to best accentuate Thornak’s playstyle.
At Lv. 4 would be the Well-Rested feat from Expanded Racial Feats. With it Thornak can increase his STR or DEX by 1, whenever he spends one or more Hit Dice during a Short Rest he can regain an extra 1d6 hit points, and at the end of a Long Rest he gains Inspiration.
At Lv. 8 would be the Crusher feat from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. With it Thornak can increase his STR or CON by 1, once per turn when he hits a creature with an attack that deals bludgeoning damage (such his warhammer) he can move it 5ft to an unoccupied space if said creature is no bigger than Large, and when he scores a critical hit dealing bludgeoning damage to a creature attack rolls against that creature are made with advantage until the start of Thornak’s next turn.
At Lv. 12 would be the Shield Master feat from the Player’s Handbook. With it when Thornak makes an Attack on his turn he can use his bonus action to try & shove a creature within 5 ft. of him with his shield, when he’s not incapacitated he can add his shield’s AC bonus to any DEX saving throw he makes against a spell or harmful effect targeting only him (which he already gets Advantage on with Danger Sense), and finally if there’s an effect that allows him to make a DEX saving throw to take only half damage, he can use his reaction to take no damage after succeeding on the saving throw by putting his shield between him and the source of the effect.
At Lv. 16 would be the Durable feat from the Player’s Handbook. With it Thornak’s CON increases by 1, and whenever he rolls a Hit Die to regain hit points the minimum number he can regain from the roll is equal to twice his CON modifier.
And finally at Lv. 19 would be the Tough feat from the Player’s Handbook. With it Thornak’s max hit points automatically increase by 38 hit points (twice his level), and if he later reaches Lv. 20 his HP max would increase by an additional 2 hp.
