30. Hmm, that’s a tough one. I’d have to say either N or Lillie. N is interesting from a conceptual point of view—imagining a child growing up first with pokemon, and then in such a controlled environment to mold his entire wordview is really fascinating idea. Also the way he went through all that and only emerged as somewhat off-putting is amazing. He maybe ranks just a tiiiny bit below Lillie, specifically her character in the first version of SuMo. I found it really inspiring that, despite how overbearing and frightening Lusamine could be, this fairly sheltered girl could get the courage to do what she felt was right and leave to save Nebby. Really loved seeing how she slowly became more confident through the game, and how she eventually had the strength to tell her mom how she really felt about her and her actions (another reason I got mad at the remakes lol—that whole speech was very important for both characters) 

34. I think it would be fun if drifloon had another form! Given how they seem to get a bit more attention than the average pokemon, I’m a bit surprised they haven’t got another form so far. I’ve seen a lot of cool ideas where it’s more of a paper-lantern themed ghost, but I was thinking maybe swapping flying with water type could be fun too! Had an idea of an alternate drifloon where the main body is a bubble, and the details are maybe made up of seaweed or trash from the ocean. Could keep the ghost typing and have it try to drag swimmers to the depths, although I think that overlaps with frillish a bit lol.

pokemon teams is in big air quotes because theese aren't full teams amd ass I made theese I thought about more potential pokemon options so I'll make a note of what pokemon they have and what pokemon I'm thinking about adding to fill out there teams

Scout

Scout has a scorbunny and jolteon because those were the only pokemon I could think of for him (I think theese cod be added to tho!) As far as alternatives I saw someone mentioned exelgore which could work. I did at one point have an intrusive thought of giving him one of the sus pokemon (specifically, lopunny or vaporeon) but decided against it :Di was also just now thinking about it, maybe he could have a cyclizard

Medic :

Up front i should mention that Medic's pokemon were partially chosen based on how messed up there pokedex was or also vibes

Pokemon drifloon(loose nurse joy assosciation + steals children) , essspur ,pidove (arcimedis), yamask (let's be real here if medic could keep a human soul as a pet he probably would), and litwick (later chadellure ) (again messed up pokedex, kidnaps children and drags them to the afterlife, feeds of life force of humans).

Other options were wigglytuff (most messed up main nurse joy pokemon to me, once you start petting it you physically cannot stop, it can also expand to over 20× its soze whichis terifying ) or mimikyu (only not here bc he was givin to pyro)

Speaking of which

Pyro

Pyro has a rapidash, sylveon, fuecoco and mimikyu (idk if I gotta justify any of theese other than masked eldrich horror is mimikyu's whole thing and also fits pyros vibes good)

Other options were centiscoch, cyndiquill , magmortar, galarian rapidash

Spy

Spy and medic have the most fleshed out teams

Spy has a intellion, ditto, zoroark ,leopard, and indede

Some suggestions for spy other pokemon were froufrou and ... idk I forgot whelst writing this

sniper has a nictowland a Sandler ( it was supposed to be a krokorok but I couldn't get the intended effect of the image with that one.

Im also thinking sniperhas some silly/cute lil guys as poekemon, like munchlax, slow poke, spoink, or pinchirchin (snom? Maybe?)

Engi has a magnazone and a rottom.

I got more guys, part 2 of my previous pokemon take:

I feel like the hockey bros (wayne and raj) would have either a rowlet or noctowl on their team since it would be their team pokemon, either way they're pokemon teams would be ice types, but diffrent pokemon on each to separate them, like Wayne having a abomasnow and Raj having a beartic

Bowie would do his own thing, having pokemon he finds strong or just likes, either way he would have a gallade and slowking (the is there because, slowking is because he mentioned winning prom queen and kind that one time, and he just seems like he would have one)

Adding to the previous one, I would like to imagine Bowie getting a rowlet or Noctowl like the hockeybros since Raj probably gave him one since he trusted him enough, which I realized as of typing this could as be used as another reason why Bowie felt so guilty for cheating, since the pokemon was a sign of trust between them, especially if he had to use them for one of the mission things

Scott's team would be farm animals + houndoom, since he grew and worked on a farm and the extra is to make him a threat like he was to his team and because his team needs a bit of flavor. I was originally going to say garchomp until i remembered they technically count as a land shark, so houndoom it is. His team would probably have Tauros, oinkolonge, dubwool, miltank, etc. Because garchomp counts as a landshark, it's going to be the pokemon fang, aka that mutated shark with legs

Noah's team would mainly be psychic types or normal types. A mutual of mine (@/criminalcinnamon) suggested that he would have a espeon, and I'm just accepting that as cannon now. He would probably have a hypno, pidgeot, zigzagoon (not the galarian one), etc

Dawns team would be psychic types, which is kinda obvious, but I feel like she would also have bug types too. Her team would have an esper, inkay, ribombee, and snom, probably. Either way, she doesn't really care about battles and chooses pokemon she's just close to

Heather would either have fire or dragon types. Why? Because it just feels like she would. Anyway, she would mainly choose pokemon that would probably scare children in some type of way because of course she would. Her team would probably have Garchomp, Noivren, Kommo-o, Arcanine, Salazzle, and maybe an Incineroar? espite all her pokemon being somewhat dangerous, she has a huge soft spot for all of them, often spoiling them with treats, toys, or something similar in private like how most people do with dogs.

I've been told I should in fact flame Pokémon characters for PPE violations, so let's go.

Specifically I'll stick to the professors and use their appearance from the main game they first appeared in, because I've played almost all of those. Most if not all of them are implied to be biologists or bio-adjacent. I've done my time in academia on top of my current job still being in bio labwork so I know how this is supposed to go.

As for criteria, let's say basic bench science PPE standards (close-toed shoes, long pants, and no long dangling hair or accessories), and in the interest of fairness I'll only go after people who are at least attempting to dress for lab by wearing a lab coat or other obvious PPE item. I also won't worry about things that can be fixed up in a minute or two before going into the lab itself, like buttoning up the lab coat, putting on gloves, etc. Honestly wearing a lab coat outside the lab isn't really supposed to happen, but it's not the end of the world and also if I stuck to that I'd have to cancel everyone.

(Am I being a horrible pedant? Maybe, but I've also never had to fill out lab accident paperwork, so I think I'm still winning.)

This is normal except for his shoes looking alarmingly like slippers. I suspect that's an issue with this specific piece of art though, since later versions do clearly show normal shoes. Do not wear slippers in lab.

Elm

Really short labcoat, possibly just a weird art choice? Also more or less normal. Looks amusingly like my cell bio professor if you squint a little.

Birch

If this is supposed to be for lab you need long pants, and something that isn't sandals/flip flops. If this is supposed to be for the field, better shoes and pants are probably still a good idea, and the lab coat is useless - it can't protect you from basically anything out there, and if you're worried about contaminating the environment it's also woefully inadequate. To be honest though, the fact that he couldn't deal with a level 2 Zigzagoon makes me think he isn't a field biologist at all. I've met those people at conferences and they'll casually do things like run back towards a probable tornado when their data or equipment is on the line. I heard two (2) angry jaguar stories at the same dinner and in both cases the reaction was basically "If I die, I die". In conclusion I think this is a really bad lab outfit and not a kind of suspect fieldwork outfit, and the only thing I can say in its defense is that I did in fact see someone try to do cell culture while wearing shorts back when I was in SoCal. More accurately, I heard him getting busted by the lab manager from the other side of the lab.

Not dressed for lab at all, so no comment. Looks like a math professor.

Juniper

The miniskirt is very bad. Credit where credit is due though, good job on the comfortable nonslip footwear - you'd be surprised how easy it is to go flying if someone's gotten a bit of water on the floor. I've also decided at this point that I'm not going to worry about interesting style/art choices on the lab coats themselves, like whatever is up with that collar.

Sycamore

Roll down your coat sleeves before you go in and this is fine. On a real person I'd say that length of hair likely needs to be secured somehow, but if we assume it stays in position via anime physics instead of falling into things we can ignore that.

Kukui

No shirt, short pants, open shoes, no science. +1 for safety glasses -1000 for everything else. EH&S is coming for your ass.

Magnolia

Some places are okay with a long skirt or dress instead of pants, given that the main idea there is to not have exposed skin that can either get hit by a chemical spill/dropped object or shed contaminants. The dress, shoes, and no socks combo here is... maybe not the greatest? However if I remember right she's basically retired when we see her in game, so it may not be an issue if she's not doing lab work anymore.

Turo

I hate to say it, but technically this passes. The only immediate issue I see is that in the rare case that you do spill something bad on yourself you need to yeet both your coat and any affected item of clothing as fast as you can, which might be challenging with the space onesie. If it's impermeable to whatever got spilled that's theoretically okay, but I've seen the chemical compatibility charts. Nothing is immune to all possible spills even if you stay away from the nasty shit the chemists have.

I've read a study once about animals like Zigzagoon Zebstrika and Blitzle taking on dark and light line-patterns on their fur to confuse predators as they escape or even work together to scare away the predator.

it inspired partially a type of camouflage that uses parallel lines like those in order to confuse others how far or near an object really is.

This is why I called this guy Razzle (but also because it ate all my razz berries once while i was trying to catch a shiny rookidee on Galar.)

But all this does make it's shiny form a curious case, because the bright red fur is... more eye-catching than the monotonous black-white, but maybe it serves as an attempt to ward off possible threats?

By taking similar coloration to some poison-type or fire-type pokémon?

This would not be too far fetched as it's common for shiny water-type pokémon to take colors akin to poison-types, which ensures the survival of the pokémon in the wild.

Though the shiny attribute still seems to be recessive or at the very least a weak feature in the overall genotype of the pokémon that experiences being shiny

But I suppose even then, the attribute is still passed down into other pokémon, there's still so much to learn about shiny pokémon

My love for pokemon has been ignited again recently, so let’s crossover it with another thing i like (Obeyme :D). What pokemon’s type the casts specialized in? Here’s my take:

Lucifer is probably dark or fire type (cuz it fits his aesthetics)

Mammon would be electric or dark type

Levi is obiviously water type

Satan probably psychic/grass? (Or he doesn’t specialized in any types at all, just cats)

Asmo is bug/fairy (i’m leaning onto bug types more cuz bugs are fashionable cuz y’know there’re plenty of clothes are based of bugs’ patterns?)

Beel: fighting type

Belphie: normal or ghost

Thirteen is definitely poison

raphael just gives me massive steel type

Diavolo would be dark/fire/ghost??? (Not sure)

And i think Solomon would be a professor (cuz i can’t think of a type that fits this old man lol). And i really struggle with the remaining characters tho (my imagination has really gone dry)

Okay, let's see, I've seen some speculation about what kinds of Pokemon the characters would have, but I haven't considered it myself. Mostly because I know that if I tried to create teams for all the characters I would go down a rabbit hole the likes of which no one has ever seen. I would spend days, possibly weeks, maybe even months, hyper fixating on it.

I think there are a lot of Pokemon that fit the characters but most of my ideas involve mixed type teams.

But if they were like gym leaders and had only one specific type that they specialized in? I think I can manage that?

These are just my general thoughts, kind of off the top of my head, but it's all subject to change at a moment's notice lol.

I agree with Lucifer being Dark. I can just see him having a Houndoom, Zoroark, possibly an Umbreon.

I can't help but think that Mammon would be Normal because there is no way that guy doesn't have a Meowth. Also wouldn't it be cute if he had a lil Eevee?? I also see him with a Zigzagoon.

Levi is definitely Water. Gyarados, Lapras, maybe a Greninja? Yeah that feels right.

Satan would absolutely just be cats. Though I do believe I saw someone say Mimikyu would be a good one for him, too, and I agreed with that argument! But if I had to choose a type for him, I think Psychic is a good choice. Since he tends to be more focused on knowledge and the mind, I think it could work. Plus can you imagine him with a Galarian Ponyta? And of course he'd have a Meowstic!

I tend to lean more toward Fairy for Asmo just because I'm pretty sure he doesn't like bugs lol. But I think if I was gonna choose something for Asmo, it'd be Grass. I know, but hear me out. How many Grass type Pokemon are straight up beautiful flowers? Give him a Bellossom or a Sunflora or a Roselia.

Then I would give Bug type to Beel lol. Though I absolutely feel like Fighting would work, too ('cause like omg Beel with a Machamp). I just think it goes with the whole fly situation, you know? Plus how cute would it be for him to have a Butterfree? I mean yeah okay he can have a Scyther too and like a Joltik but also give that guy a Cutiefly you know what I'm saying?

Belphie definitely gives me Ghost vibes for some reason. I can't explain it, but I just see him definitely having a Drifloon. Also a Gengar. And a Pumpkaboo just because that feels right too lol. I have no idea why.

I think Diavolo would be the Dragon type. That feels right to me. Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, maybe a Drampa or Goodra. I dunno, just feels like the right type for him.

I really can't decide on a single type for Barbatos. I think he'd like a Ghost type like Sinistea or a Fairy type like Comfey. But he's got the Little Ds, right?? They're close enough! Demon type lol.

Now I could totally see Solomon being one of those absolutely unhinged professor types lol. But I could also see him having Flying or Ice type. Or Psychic or Fairy. I think he could have any of those. Like give that grandpa an Alakazam or an Altaria or a Glaceon or a Clefable. Okay see this is what I mean when I start being unable to choose a specific type lol.

I could also see Simeon having Flying type. Again with a Swablu or Altaria, but also a Togekiss or Swanna.

Luke would be Fairy type. Especially considering how many Fairy type Pokemon are also desserts. Give that kid an Alcremie, a Slurpuff, and of course a Fidough! Also a Togepi to match Simeon's Togekiss.

I agree that Thirteen would be Poison. That feels accurate! Give her a Seviper and a Croagunk! Oh and a Salazzle.

I think Raphael could be Steel, Ground, or Rock lol. Or even Fighting I think would work too. I don't think there's a spear like Steel type, but there is the swords Aegislash. But I think I could see him with an Onix or like a Solrock too.

Mephisto completely baffles me. Maybe Poison also? Or Fire? I could see him with a Ninetails.

Well, these are just basic ideas, and I agree with multiple types for each character. It's too hard for me to give a single type to each! For instance, I also think Mammon would have a Gimmighoul and that's a Ghost type. I didn't even give anyone Electric in the end, but I could see him having a Pikachu, too lol.

Anyway, that was fun to think about, but you can see that if I got serious about it, I'd end up getting way too into it lol. I'm always open to hear other people's thoughts and ideas on this, too! I know others have discussed it before! (For instance, I recommend checking out @/another-lost-mc because I know Jes has a Pokemon AU!)

Whoa, so interesting for her to be remembered, I made her years ago... (2019 mayb?) She wasn't as developed as some other concepts of mine, I never settled on a name proper, but I think of her as named something kind of severe. Like 'Clarity'... in contrast with her very sick, hazy mind.

She's genuinely just a vvvvery very ill, disordered individual, I imagined her very troubled when developing as a baby, put-off and violent towards any littermates or parent figure. She's not very old... young adolescent? And her diet is 'improper', as shaymin aren't meant to predate on other pokes, so she is underweight as her body isn't absorbing nutrients properly. Though I think unlike our world, pokemon are magical, enough that there is some wiggle room, esp as a pseudo-legendary... so her diet won't kill her, just hobble her, maybe further her unwellness. It's not exactly a hunger like a normal predator, it is something possessing her to do this, I would say almost like a delusion (that this is her 'destiny' in some manner, that's why it 'feels so good'.)

Eventually she was slated to have a mate that was a very overweight vaporeon my wife developed, one that got really good at hunting in its own habitat ww... I knew my wife was thinking about her being drowned, pulled into the lake by him.

As for OCs, I have several, many were made during a particular winter in 2017 where me and my wife sat down to design several pkmn to pair with one another. :3 Most of them compiled here & most didn't get a name. I think only the zigzagoon had one, 'Dart'... His mate, the persian with a blue gem, is named Lapis. I remember their narrative was one where her owner desperately wishes to breed her for her rare color mutation, but she is so persnickety and will not deign any proposed sires... The owner isn't cruel so doesn't force anything into her. But then she becomes charmed by a dirty little stray zigzagoon and instead obsessively wants to groom, cuddle, mate with him lol, and the owner just has to be like sigh, if this is what she wants....

I believe the chinchou was paired with a goreabyss that was very saturated (from her successful diet, much bloodsucking done ww), they meet oneday and she decides to not... kill him, for now. (?) The shuppet paired with a swirlix that is repulsed by sweets, thus suffers from a poor diet also. When the swirlix is unwell, the shuppet is able to feed on her negative emotions, and when the swirlix gets nursed back to health by shuppet, then it is his turn to become lethargic and unwell (no longer able to feed from her.)

Butterfree, electrike etc. were all just design pitches, not developed.

Since I really like the 'chu line, I had various sonas of them also. I had a 'set' of 2 pichu which were 'composite sonas' to represent myself, born from the same egg but instead of recognizing one another as siblings, saw each other as halves of the same whole. Technically they have defects effecting their development, improper tails and one has lop ears (cartilage issue?) Their egg was abandoned, so they have no troupe, and they're unable to be kind to one another actually... so they're sort of doomed to die if no one takes care of them. There's alternate timelines where, if they're somehow very lucky, they are able to evolve into pikachu/raichu... but then just become absolute monsters like that. Like I mean flat out going to become rapists kfkfkf

The pikachu, Muka, was an exploration of if those pichu weren't born separately, instead combining into 1 being. In this case, the lop-eared one would be melanistic (which I sometimes think of 'shadow' pokemon as being that in this world) ; the result is Muka is very visibly a chimera. He is still abandoned as an egg, and development was very difficult, but he has a 'more complete mind', less fractured.

One of my most recent sonas was Hondew, I made him like, early ~2021 or something... another chimera. (This concept stuck w/ me for a sec...) I have a write-up of him still:

"As a trapinch (and vibrava) he was a very simple minded creature, highly food motivated. would overeat if he could. but he was just getting by in the desert and could only do so much. Surviving to his final evolution was good fortune. The resulting intelligence and stats boost... are used all towards his high food drive. but now he also has the ability to enjoy playing with his food, and devise ways to hurt things.

his moveset is focused on paralysis (mean look, thunder fang) to slow things down and avoid giving chase(or being chased). he's not a fast flier, nor can he fly very high. as he gets fatter and less mobile, it means he problem solves how to work around these things. enabling him further..

he delights in eating baby pokemon and eggs, there's a sick enjoyment in doing so. and he clears the area of unwanted competition by making an inhospitable environment where there's a dirty rotten baby eater on the loose ! :(

He'll never pick a fight directly with a pokemon as high leveled as him. he has patience and tenacity on his side. he will play the long con of harassing you, tormenting you, and evading you with a tricky moveset. and most pokemon just would rather live elsewhere, where the competition is more manageable and there isn't a huge jerk nipping at your heels every second.

he likes to manipulate things in his hands, and the frequent use makes them more dextrous than most flygons. he can often be seen holding something. meticulously running his claws over it. in the case of avvy's shinx, he loves to touch her fur and carries her around everywhere. she's very novel, as shinx are not native to his deserts. he keeps her on a whim, but grows very attached to her over time"

Aside from him I think my most recent exploits were these other unnamed ones, a salandit and a togekiss. The togekiss is there to love and fuss and chuff over the little archen that nips at it, and the salandit is endlessly consuming cutiefly. I have a liepard and nidorino in the works, but they're indistinct in my mind still...

(Often I suppose naming the pokemon doesn't always come to mind bc they are equivalent to wild animals & sometimes it just doesn't really feel important or cross the mind.)

My only other OCs I belieeeve are in PMD verse, compiled here. Their narratives are not very different from the plot of their respective games. I think only the PMD sky set of phanpy (Vvyrd) and vulpix (Vivi) deviate, as Vivi evolves and her nature changes as a ninetales, she eventually steals Vvyrd away into the mountains to live in isolation. The skitty/mudkip were only from playing the demo fr DX so I don't think they had proper names... The super team was of a bulbasaur (Periwinkle) and fennekin (Wish) !

Idk if Al could have a pokemon verse or if Piers could have a hazbin verse but either way - both love music, both love strange creatures, I hope they'll get on, it'd be great. Also I would love to see Alastor get absolutely ambushed by Piers' gaggle of Zigzagoons (or whatever small animals are verse appropriate).

I did not know you had Angel Dust on your muse list but I badly want to give him Kagari to deal with. They would be a total chaos duo I'm sure of it. Yes Kagari's on his own blog now but he still counts for this list XD

Y’all knew this was coming, because I told you it was

A few years ago, I actually made a Pokémon AU for the Bardlings, and I will be using the same teams now, just with a few additions.

Not every character will be included, because there’s just so much I can do, but if you have any ideas for teams of a character who wasn’t included here, then feel free to share! Same goes if you have any other suggestions for the teams I made

They’re all grouped into the people they travel with, because the idea of them all traveling alone makes me sad. The gym leaders will be at the end of the post, and they will all have full teams but like they’d be changed around depending on what order they actually are in.

Also, I do not know who the champion is. Maybe it’s Manwë, maybe it’s Lobelia Sackville-Baggins.

Frodo Baggins, Traveler - Umbreon, Joltik, Kecleon, Sableye, Honedge, Bagon

The nephew/adopted son of the gym leader of Shire City, the Step-Nephew(?) of the gym leader of Erebor City, and the brother/cousin of the gym leaders of Dale City, Frodo lives under constant pressure. Growing up in Shire City, there was a certain expectation that he would one day become a gym leader himself like the rest of his family, or at least a great battler. Frodo is not. He’s too soft to be a battler, he doesn’t like to see his Pokémon hurt, he’s forgetful of moves, he’s just not that good at it. The reason he’s traveling is less because he has a goal, and more because he wants to avoid people (He’s like his uncle in many ways).

Samwise Gamgee, Cook in training - Espeon, Mudsdale, Lycanroc Dusk Form, Floette, Greedent, Diglett

Born and raised in Shire city, has been the best friend with Frodo since they were three, and has been in love with Frodo since they were four. He understands Frodo’s plight with his family, and he does anything to help and support him in any way he can. Travels both to help his bro, but also to see the world and learn about new and exotic plants. He’s very curious about both botany and cuisine, so he takes in as much as he can.

Merry Brandybuck, Pokémon Coordinator - Gogoat, Pancham, Thievul, Bibarel, Galarian Zigzagoon, Minun

A boy of Shire city, Merry is a clever but very stupid lad. Thing is, Merry likes battling. He’s not bad either. But he also just really fucking likes showing off, and cool move effects and big explosions. Contests give you all of that. Man’s a brilliant battler, with a lot of good strategies and ways to combine his Pokémon’s moves to make for some beautiful creations, but the place he falls is just that he has no fucking idea on what is good against what. It’s not just the type charts, but also simple stuff like stats. He usually helps his mate Pippin in any way he can with his battling, as he would never be able to make it in an actual battle.

Pippin Took, Pokémon trainer - Breloom, Spinda, Sudowoodo, Swinub, Zigzagoon, Plusle

This Shire City boy may be dumb af, but by god he is trying alright? He’s attempting to be a trainer, but he can be a bit “uncreative” when it comes to strategies. The angel/devil on his shoulder Merry is the only reason he’s getting anywhere. At least he’s very caring about his lil guys.

Aragorn Eveningstar, Pokémon ranger in training - Empoleon, Aegislash, Sceptile, Scizor, Marowak, Galarian Farfetch’d

The adopted son of the Rivendell City gym leader. Fricking stacked trainer, honestly, with a strong and relatively balanced team. He’s always been more interested in Pokémon rangers though, with their goal to preserve nature and protect rare Pokémon. He’s had a few (rather strange) run ins with legendary and mythical Pokémon before as well. He’s still a bit away from applying to be a ranger though, mostly because he still has a lot he wants to see and do. Rather cliche, but he wants to find himself.

Legolas Greenleaf, aspiring gym leader - Decidueye, Leafeon, Hisuian Lilligant, Formantis, Serperior, Abomasnow

Guess three times what his favorite typing is. The Mirkwood city gym has been in his family for many generations, and he’s determined to be the next one in line. He enjoys the free spirited nature and wildness of grass types, the way they can survive in any climate through adaptation. He’s absolutely smitten with Aragorn, partly just because he wants to protect nature and partly because, have you fricking seen Aragorn

Gimli Gloinson, Pokémon trainer - Tinkaton, Kleavor, Golett, Alolan Golem, Emboar, Froslass

Gimli is a trainer from Erebor city, but he has family all over the fricking region. Wherever they travel, he will have a relative there, even in this remote ass village in the woods, or this strange house atop a mountain. He's a big fan of Pokémon who look really bulky and tough, even though they sometimes aren't. Froslass was an accident, he meant to evolve her into a Glalie, but she accidentally came in contact with a dawn stone, but she's his baby. He may not look it, but he spoils his Pokemon absolutely rotten.

Boromir Minas-Tirith, Pokémon trainer - Bisharp, Aegislash, Samurott, Litwick, Luxray, Weavile

The older brother of the Gondor city gym leader, though he was set to inherit the gym after his father. He'd wanted to be a traveling pokémon trainer since he was young though, so he entrusted it to the person he trusts the most. He traveled alone for a long time, occasionally meeting and battling his friendly rival Aragorn, but then a short but hot headed girl started following him around, so you know there's that. He travels home a lot to watch his little brother battle and cheer him on more often than not.

Tilda Dragon, Pokémon Trainer - Sawsbuck, Flareon, Braixen, Shiny Dartrix, Phantump, Druddigon

A girl from Dale City, Tilda is less traveling and battling in an attempt to actually take on the champion, Lobelia Sackville-Baggins, and more to just get out there. Sometimes just skips the middle man when battling Pokémon, and just starts punching them herself. She’s a hazard to people and Pokémon alike, but mostly she’s a hazard to herself. A weird friendship with Boromir, but they make it work somewhat.

Bain Dragon, Pokémon Trainer - Mudsdale, Vaporeon, Shiny Liepard, Lycanroc, Sobble, Crobat

Bain is from Dale City, and he lost his eyes to a Sableye when he was young. Having always dreamt of becoming a Pokémon trainer, Bain’s dreams were crushed as without his eyesight, he could no longer see the battling before him. At least that’s what you’d think. But Bain learnt to fight without his eyes, going off his other senses instead, mainly hearing and feeling. He’s known throughout the Middle Earth region, and is an inspiration to many young trainers with disabilities.

(Also he travels with his partners Vivian and Kamarind (OCs), but I’m not bothering with giving both of them full teams. Kami does have a lot of water Pokémon tho, and Vivi has a Smeargle)

Sigrid Dragon, traveling nurse - Jolteon, Stoutland, Blissey, Noctowl, Milotic, Alcreime

Sigrid is the oldest of the ‘dragon children’, and has always been a very maternal to her siblings since the death of their mother. Because of Tilda’s habit of straight up fist fighting Pokémon, and Bain’s wounded eyes, she had to pick up the healers skill that is mostly reserved for the Joy family. She studied under Dale City’s Nurse Joy so she could help her siblings, but once they both left on their journeys, she became kinda lost. Until she realized, that while most people know a lot about how to heal a Pokémon (and even if not, there’s a Pokémon center in every city, town, and village), human healing is a less honed craft. So she travels across the region, helping out and educating as many people as she can. She knows absolutely nothing about how to heal Pokémon though, her Blissey is better at that.

(Sigrid also travels with Tauriel, but her team hasn’t been made yet. I will gladly take suggestions tho)

Gandalf Gray, the disturber of peace - Shiny Delphox, Hisuian Braviary, Hatterene, Rabsca, Galarian Rapidash, Cosmog

No one knows what’s going on with this dude. He’s incredibly powerful, yet he almost never battles (apart from with his ex husband that is). He just sorta wanders around, giving unhelpful advice to people, and encourages people to go on a journey. Also, a lot of the older generation knew him when they themself were kids, and he looks he exact same, so he might just be immortal

And here comes the gym leaders. They are in no particular order, and they all have full teams what can be switched around and changed depending on what order you yourself choose to start in.

Thorin Oakenshield, Steel types - Perrserker, Skarmory, Aggron, Bronzong, Archaludon, Kingambit

The gym leader of Erebor city, who looks very intimidating and majestic, but is a huge family man. Erebor City gym has always had a…reputation, mainly cause his grandfather went mad running it, overtraining his Pokémon and refusing to give out badges to people who beat him, and it was abandoned by his father and taken over by a fire trainer named Smaug for man years, but Thorin is adamant in that he can run it. He struggles with holding back when people come to his gym first, so it’s usually recommended that his is one of the later ones, but he’s gotten better at it. Happily married to the Shire City gym leader, and sometimes his gym is closed for a few weeks just cause he wants to visit his husband. Never during league season though.

Bilbo Baggins, Normal types - Kangaskhan, Snorlax, Ursaring, Buneary, Cinccino, Furfrou

The gym leader of Shire city, who looks very sweet and kind, but is about as stubborn as they come. His mother was a very famous traveler and explorer, and while he did do some travel in his youth (it’s how he met his husband), but he never quite had his mother’s spirit. He likes normal types for the simplicity of them, sure sometimes more fantastical Pokémon can be nice and cool, but you know what to expect with a normal type. During off league season, he run a small bakery, mostly for the fun of it. Also his Buneary hates his guts and refuses to evolve.

Elrond Eveningstar, Water types - Milotic, Quaquaval, Starmie, Lapras, Kingdra, Lanturn

Elrond is not just the gym leader of Rivendell City, but also the ‘lord’ of it, unofficial title. Rivendell has always been seen as a very welcoming and comforting city, especially to travelers, and no one embodies this better than Elrond. Despite being a strong trainer, Elrond tends to go a little too easy on new trainers. If you’re an experienced one he will not go easy on you though. His twin sons work in the gym as gym trainers, and they’re both pretty good at putting up a challenge for newer trainers, so it evens out for the most part.

Galadriel Galadrhim, Flying types - Altaria, Masquerain, Togekiss, Swanna, Sensu Oricorio, Mandibuzz

Every single forum discussing the gym challenge has agreed on one thing about the Lothlórien City gym leader, DO NOT TAKE HER ON FIRST. Galadriel is fully capable to becoming the champion, defeating even the legendary Lobelia Sackville-Baggins, but has too much passion for her city and gym. But she is stupidly strong, never dare underestimate.

Thranduil Greenleaf, Fairy types - Grimmsnarl, Shiinotic, Florges, Mawile, Sylveon, Alolan Ninetails

Mirkwood city gym isthe oldest still standing gym in all the region, and it’s been in the same family for that entire time. Thranduil has a lot of pride for his heritage, which can make him a bit of an intimidating person. He seems to be this regal, opposing figure, but in reality he’s just a very sassy drama queen. He has a throne in his gym that he sprawls out on between battles, dressing dramatically to match with his Pokémon, man wears a crown for Arceus sake. Absolutely adores his scraggy ass husband as well.

Faramir Minas-Tirith, Fighting types - Bewear, Falinks, Primape, Tauros blaze breed, Medicham, Scrafty

The extremely surprising gym leader of Gondor, as it was believed that his older brother would take over the gym. He struggles a lot with being the unexpected choice and the newest gym leader, and while his brother supports him as much as he can he is gone for the most part, out on a journey. He likes fighting types because they’re strong and resilient, despite all the hardships they face. All of his team are softies for him (Even Primape and Tauros, two naturally aggressive Pokémon), and Falinks especially has taken him in as their seventh member.

Sauroman White, Ghost types - Mismagius, Dusknoir Hisuian Zoroark, Sinistcha, Spiritomb, Gourgeist

Isengard city’s gym leader is known for two things. One, he is incredibly old fashioned in his battling style, refusing to ever change up his tactics and strategies. He frowns upon the new “Tera Types”, and “dynamax forms”, and all that. Back in the day, your Pokémon remained normal sized and normal typed, and we liked it! Two, he managed to fumble the region’s most iconic and famous person. Big L.

Fíli and Kíli Oakenshield, Duo trainers - Amped Toxtricity, Shiny Flapple, Armarouge (Fíli) Low Key Toxtricity, Shiny Appletun, Ceruledge (Kíli)

After former Dale city gym leader, Bard Dragon, retired, the two nephews of the neighboring city’s gym leader took over. Fíli and Kíli are two peas in a pod, fully inseparable. Their battling is so in sync it’s almost scary to witness, and many people struggle when facing them because of it. Outside of battle they are very boyish and loud, finding jokes in anything then witness. They enjoy teasing their brother/cousin, but when it comes down to it they’d protect him with their heart and soul.

some possible pokemon for scary's team.... i had some other ideas but i kept changing my mind!! rambles about choices and other potential ideas for her under the cut-

was thinking in the realm of dark, poison, ghost, and psychic pokemon for her. possibly fairy to allude to her pre scary TERRY vibes

ghastly's a classic edgy pokemon lol. and im biased because i like that line :3 ghost/poison type, fits perfectly i think!

froslass's pokedex entries are all about freezing people and eating souls. stuff i think scary would find metal as hell lol

morpeko. literally just bc the full belly mode reminds me of her terry vibes and hangry mode represents scary vibes. something something duality idk

also originally i was gonna give her something like lycanroc midnight form. another HARDCORE EDGY Lookin one that i do still like for her! the pokedex entries talk about it being more of a loner and stuff, but then i started to think that maybe the rockruff lines would fit lark and sparrow more. lycanroc midnight does seem to be more about how intense it is in battle which gives me lark vibes lol. but also where is the rule that says they cant both have a cool wolf 😌

gothorita / that whole line. just cuz goth vibes lol. gothorita is also the "manipulate pokemon" and scary is a LIAR and a SCHEMER so, it fits!!

i considered the galarian zigzagoon line for her, again mostly bc aesthetics. but! then i started to think that one fit glenn or nick better. the aesthetic might be cool for her but it's more glamrock and the pokedex entry sounds more of like an energetic chaos being and it didnt really fit scary's "i dont care" exterior

i really want her to have something from pre-scary era. like cuter happier pokemon. morpeko kinda fits that, but i also think she could have like galarian ponyta lol. that fits the psychic theme i was going with, and i could see her having been a HORSE GIRL. she loves pink and i think it's a very pre-scary terry vibe lol. something that would totally clash with her current aesthetic and vibe.

I REALLY WANT STEP DAD TERRY JR TO GIVE HER EITHER A POKEMON OR AN EVOLUTION ITEM 😭 like something to try and bond with her. maybe a pokemon she struggles to accept onto her team, OR maybe an evolution stone for Some Pokemon she has, and for a really really long time she Does Not Use It bc shes being DEFIANT!!!!!! i do not have specifics here. yet. but i really like the concept of her and terry jr having Some Sort of tangible symbolic thing. idk SOMETHING could be done here, ill chew on it a while lol

✧ North was quick to break from her silence, she looked suddenly very confused.

North: Huh-? Wha, Wisteria? Wisteria Isn't my Pokemon? She's a wild Pokemon! Besides, I don't even think she wants to be my Pokemon??

North: Then again... I've never really asked her? It'd be weird to just randomly ask your best friend to willingly be stuck in a tiny Pokeball forever. North: Is that weird? Is it weird... that I kind of do want her to be my Pokemon, so I can make sure she's safe all the time. I don't want her to get hurt... But, that's such a weird thing to ask someone...?

North: How would I even ask that? "...Oh, Steria, can you please get into the Pokeball so I can keep you confined forever and ever and never let you go!" That'd be so embarrassing!! I don't catch Pokemon without their permission, and Wisteria definitely has not said I could. North: Maybe I'll ask when we're older... Yeah! Then it won't be super weird when I do eventually ask.

North: Hehe, yeah... Even so! I've never really caught an actual Pokemon before, Dad said I need to learn how to throw a Pokeball better! I tried to throw one at a Zigzagoon once! But I hit the tree behind it... Mom wasn't happy when it got mad and chased her. I think all the Pokemon I have already had a Pokeball before I got them.

✧ North seemed to finally notice she was rambling once again.

North: Oh yeahhh! I was introducing them, wasn't I? I only have three that are actually mine! There's Silas... Finn and Thistle! My dad caught Thistle, he also caught Smoke. He always makes me carry smoke around or else I'm super duper grounded from going outside alone! North: Speaking of introducing Pokemon...
