Summary:Despite Newt's interest in you, you try and prove what getting close would do to him

Everyone likes Newt. It's almost impossible to feel anything negative towards the sweet blonde boy, and I see why. He's responsible, kind hearted, and caring. So I definitely understand why you could be attached to him.

That's why I stay away from him. I am the opposite, rebellious, loud, and sarcastic, and had a temper. I decided that means I should just avoid him. I already know he wouldn't want anything to do with me. It's probably the one logical decision I've stuck to.

Then, a day came that I never expected. He walked up to me to have a regular conversation. I found an excuse and walked off. I don't know why he suddenly decided he should talk to me, but it wasn't a very bright decision. He knows I've been put in the pit several times, and there's a reason most Glader's don't hang out with me. Why would he try and be around me?

The question whirled around in my head the entire day and only irritated me. Hadn't it been obvious I'm trying to stay away from people, especially him, to look out for them? Apparently, not.

Acting on impulse I stomped over to where he was with his friends. He looked up at me and smiled.

"What's wrong with you?"I asked, not knowing how to start the conversation.

"What do you mean?"He asked, completely unaffected.

For some reason him not reacting in some negative way was making this worse.

"You just waltz on up like I haven't been avoiding you the entire time here? Why in the world would you do something like that?"I asked. He suddenly looked nervous. "See? This is exactly why you stay away from me,"I stated, walking off.

"Yeah. Because I avoid you, and I wouldn't scare you. I'd hurt your feelings without meaning to so it's a great idea if we keep this thing of not talking to each other up."

"What if I think you're a good person?"He questioned.

"Then, you're blind,"I shrugged, walking into the Deadheads in hopes he would leave. Instead, he walked right alongside me.

"If you were a bad person you wouldn't keep trying to avoid people."

"Why do you care?"I snapped, walking further in and looking at all the trees so I didn't have to look him in the eyes.

"Maybe I want to be close to you."

I looked at him and raised an eyebrow before stepping closer to him. He seemed just as unaffected.

"Oh, you sweet, gullible, blonde. I will never be someone you want to know. Just when you think you can tolerate me I'll end up tearing you down without even realizing,"I warned.

"You think I'm sweet?"He asked, ignoring my words.

"Stop that,"I demanded.

"Stop what?"He asked, not having a clue.

"Stop thinking you can get close to me."

"Do you really believe that?"I asked, now inches away from his face.

"Of course I do."

"Fine then. I'll be close to you,"I whispered in his ear. I could tell there were clear goosebumps on his skin. "That's one effect I have on people,"I whispered, pulling away.

"What's the other one?"

I didn't answer with words. Instead, I showed him by placing a soft kiss to his lips. He seemed to freeze until I pulled away.

"That one. Now you've been close to me. Don't ask again love,"I whispered, leaving him standing there. This time he didn't bother to follow me. Why would he? I had just shown exactly what mind games I could play.

If only I had realized I had only pulled him in more.

minally ficlet (or ramble) that came to me randomly after rewatching tdc:

minho turned and found gally laying with his back to him. for once, minho had been the big spoon the night prior to this morning.

minho smiled to himself, kissing the back of gally’s neck gently, careful not to wake the taller boy.

he paused, suddenly, feeling a strange scar at the base of gally’s skull. he’d never seen this one before, partially because minho is a good four inches shorter than gally and because he’s not usually the one spooning him.

gally stirred as minho ran his finger over the still puffy scar, carefully, so he doesn’t hurt him.

“what’re you doing, shank?”, gally muttered, half asleep.

“where’d you get this one from? i know my spear didn’t hit you this high”, minho whispered, pressing a small kiss to the scar so gally knew what he was talking about.

“..oh”, gally then turned to face minho, grazing his lips over minho’s forehead. minho closed his eyes, embracing the gentle kiss.

“when we were in the last city, rescuing you.. teresa took our trackers out that wckd placed into us”, minho froze, suddenly tensing up. gally wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him closer.

“min, talk to me”, minho nodded, leaning into gally’s chest. gally hugged him tightly, grounding him.

“it’s just.. i didn’t know we had trackers”, gally frowned, kissing the top of minho’s head. the puzzle pieces then clicked together.

minho never got his tracker removed.

“you still have yours.. don’t you?”, though gally feared he already knew the answer. minho nodded, feeling the back of his neck where the tracker was on gally.

gally reached a hand up and touched the back of minho’s neck, feeling the small lump where the tracker was buried.

“oh.. we can take care of it.. you know?”, gally moved his hand back down, tilting minho’s head up so he was looking at him.

“mm, i guess.. i’m scared they can still track me, they could come back and find us, gal”, minho closed his eyes, leaning into gally’s hand.

“min.. wckd is gone, remember? they won’t ever hurt you again”, gally ran a hand up and down minho’s scar covered arms, still feeling every puncture wound, cut, and any other mark wckd created on minho’s body.

“i know, i know. it just.. still feels like they’re going to come back, finish what they started or something”, gally’s heart broke for his boyfriend, knowing that he’s done everything in his power to stop minho from feeling like this. though, it still happens. sometimes minho doesn’t even think gally is real, he’s a hallucination. it shatters gally every single time.

“we’ll take care of it, together. i promise”, minho nodded, snuggling back into his safe space, which happened to be gally’s chest, tracing the scar that sits right above his lung. gally makes a mental note to take him to the medjacks later and get the tracker removed.
