Tumblr media
Ellie is all too excited as she eats her breakfast, wiggling with glee, as she tells you about how good she was for your girlfriend during church and how she was so surprised to see her father with you at the coffee shop.
You do your best to remain present with everything that your daughter is saying, but that’s proving to be hard when the ten minutes that Melissa requested for were up and she wasn’t knocking at your door. She was almost never late when she told you she would be to your apartment in a given amount of time. It’s also particularly hard to keep your focus on your daughter when your abdomen is absolutely on fire. You choose your eyes are a particularly bad cramp tears its way through your body, and when you open them Ellie is watching you curiously.
“Are you okay, Momma?”
You nod and smile at her with as much sincerity as you can muster up at this given time. “I’m okay, baby. Just bad cramps. You know how sometimes they like to sneak up on me.”
Your little girl nods in understanding, and you quietly pray that she isn’t also cursed with terrible PMS like you are. “Should I get Miss Mel?”
“It’s okay, hun,” you chuckle. “Momma can handle herself.”
“Cuddles will help?” Ellie suggests.
You roll your eyes at her suggestion. “Of course they will. Ellie girl cuddles always fix everything.”
“I know, Momma!” Your daughter’s eyes light up and she beams at you as though she had just figured out how to make pigs fly. She pulls you to the couch and forces you to recline back before she curls into your hold.
“Oh wait!” she pops back up and heads into the back hallway for a few seconds before you see her coming back out with your heating pad. She hands it to you with a shy smile.
You kiss her head softly, eyes welling with tears at her thoughtful consideration. “Thank you, sweet girl.”
You plug it in and press it to your stomach before she settles herself next to you again.
“I love you, Momma,” she whispers.
“I love you too, little girl,” you tell her. “I will always love you, no matter what. My sweet, strong girl.”
She grins at you toothily. “I know I telled Daddy Mel was my favoritest person in the world… but I think I lied.”
“Oh?” you look down at her.
“It’s you,” she says softly as she snuggles into your side before reaching for the remote and turning on the television.
“You’re my favoritest person in the whole world too, my little love bug,” you promise her with a kiss to her beautifully braided hair (thanks to Melissa).
Only once you’ve relaxed just a bit with the warmth from both the heating pad and your daughter does your body’s fight or flight response quit and you realize just how much it took out of you to confront your ex-husband. After only a few minutes of watching the Disney movie Ellie chose to watch, you end up dozing.
Dozing is a phrase to be used lightly, because when you wake up again, your little girl is no longer in your embrace, the heating pad has been switched out for a hot water bottle, and an entirely different Disney movie plays on your television than the one you had fallen asleep to.
You blearily open your eyes, and you can smell something on the stovetop that can only be a product of your girlfriend. Groaning as you stand and keeping the hot water bottle in your clutch, you make your way to the kitchen where Melissa has Ellie on her hip as she stirs whatever contents are in the pot.
You watch the two of them with soft and loving eyes for a few seconds before pulling out one of the barstools and making your presence known.
The redhead turns around at the sound. “Hey. When I came in you were asleep, and I knew El would be getting hungry soon.”
“I’m helping Mel make chicken noodle soup!” your daughter squeals from your girlfriend’s hip.
“You are,” Melissa kisses Ellie’s cheek before setting her down. “Why don’t you go grab the celery from my apartment, little miss?”
The little girl nods excitedly before racing off.
The woman shakes out her arm and cracks her hip. “I think I need to pull up a chair for her next time… she’s getting a little too big for me to cook and hold her at the same time.”
You chuckle softly at her. “Yeah. She’s growing up before my eyes.”
“How’re you feeling?” the redhead asks as she makes her way over to you.
“Like I’m being stabbed repeatedly in the uterus,” you tell her. “Thank you for the hot water bottle, by the way.”
She frowns. “You felt okay enough to go meet your husband though.”
“Ex-husband,” you correct.
“You still met him,” your girlfriend reminds you.
You sigh. “I did.”
“You lied to me,” she says dully, and you can hear the way that she’s trying to hide her hurt feelings.
“I didn’t lie to you, Mel,” you tell her. “I really don’t feel great.”
“Why didn’t you tell me you decided to respond? That you were meeting with him?” she asks, and you can tell she’s trying to keep her temper at bay.
You bite your lip. “Because I knew you would get all protective, and I can handle myself when it comes to him. Besides, I didn’t think that he would be such an ass… I was kind of hoping he would just hand me a check for the child support he owes me and we would go our separate ways.”
“Did he?”
You huff. “No. I told him that if I didn’t have the money in hand by the end of the month that I would get a lawyer. I was going to storm out when I ran into you two.”
Melissa just nods thoughtfully before Ellie comes running back into your apartment with the requested vegetable in hand. “Thank you, sweetheart,” your girlfriend smiles. “Great job. I think I have it from here because it’s just chopping up the celery and letting everything simmer, so why don’t you go play in your room while I take care of your momma?”
Your daughter beams at the praise and nods before raising her arms. Of course, your girlfriend obliges and lifts her onto her hip. Ellie presses a quick kiss to the redhead’s cheek and squeezes her gently before wiggling to get down again. She then comes to you and carefully winds her arms around you. And then she’s off giggling to herself about whatever make-believe game she was planning on playing.
Melissa chops and dices the celery quietly and deep in thought before throwing it into the pot.
You finally break the tension. “Mel, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you.”
She turns to you at that. She just shrugs. “Whatever.”
“Honey,” you sigh as you shuffle off of the barstool. You stumble slightly.
“Hey,” she catches you quickly. “Take it easy.”
“I’m sorry,” you whisper as you wrap an arm around her waist. “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to lie to you. I didn’t mean to make you so angry at me that you needed time to yourself to calm down after we got home.”
She takes a deep breath as she guides you back to your chair. “Hun, I’m not gonna lie… I wasn’t pleased to see you out and about, especially with him.”
“I know,” you mumble.
“But I get why you did what you did,” Melissa tells you gently. “And I ain’t mad… not anymore.”
You sigh a breath of relief.
“I told you I needed ten minutes, and that ten turned into twenty while I found the ingredients to make you soup,” she lets you know. “I still came over, I’m still taking care of you because it’s clear you really aren’t feeling well… don’t think I didn’t miss the way you nearly doubled over in pain at the shop.”
You smile at her gently. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”
She just rolls her eyes and kisses you softly. Then she tells you, “If you need a lawyer to get the child support, I know a guy. Just let me know, babe.”
The next time Jared messages you, you tell Melissa immediately. You tell her so immediately in fact, that you accidentally interrupt her science lesson with the kids.
“Miss Y/N?” she raises a brow. “I am in the middle of teaching.”
“I know, I know,” you apologize. “But just…” you hand her your phone.
She glances at it before closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose. “We’ll deal with this later, okay?”
You nod. “Sorry. Continue on with your lesson.”
At lunch, you settle down in the staff room while she heats up your lunches.
“So, what are you going to do?”
“I guess take Ellie to the park today?” you shrug. “But come with me?”
She taps at her phone before groaning. “I have a meeting with Tyrone’s parents, but I’ll meet you there after?”
You end up walking down to the park with your daughter as she tells you all about the different things she had done today in first grade.
“I’m so glad you’re loving first grade, baby,” you smile down at her as she swings your hand with hers.
“I do,” she nods seriously. “But I do miss Mrs. Howard.”
“You still see Mrs. Howard all the time when she hangs out with Mel.”
‘Sn’t the same,” Ellie shrugs. And then when the two of you approach the park, she breaks out into the biggest grin at the sight of Jared.
“Daddy!” She drops your hand and runs for him. He lifts her up immediately with that sparkling smiles of his, and you catch up a few seconds later.
“Thanks for letting me have this one, babe,” he smirks at you.
You glare at him. “Don’t call me that.”
“Yeah,” Ellie pipes up. “Only Mel gets to call Momma that now.”
Jared looks to your daughter. “Oh?”
“Well, they are dating,” your daughter shrugs. Then she focuses her attention on the swings. “Push me on the swings?”
He takes her over immediately and gives her a big push on the playground equipment. Ellie giggles with glee the entire time. Then she runs off to go play with a few of the other kids that have made their way to the park after school, and you and your ex-husband find a bench to sit on while you watch her.
“So,” he looks you up and down.
You huff. “Screw off. I’m only doing this for my daughter.”
“Ours,” he corrects.
You fire out, “I’m still waiting for my child support check.”
“About that,” he rubs the back of his neck.
“Jared, I wasn’t kidding when I told you that if I didn’t have the money in hand by the end of the month I would sue your sorry ass.”
He raises his hands in surrender. “Okay, damn. Where was this fire when we were married? It makes you way hotter.”
“Oh, eat my shit.” You turn your attention to where your daughter is running around playing tag. You can tell she’s tiring herself out- at least she’ll sleep well tonight.
You don’t bother to speak to Jared again until Ellie comes running over to you. She immediately climbs into your lap and snuggles up against you.
“Momma, I’m hungry.”
“Okay, baby,” you brush a few of the flyaways away from her face. “We’ll start heading home so Momma can cook dinner then.”
“Can Daddy come?”
As much as you want to tell your little girl that he is not welcome in your new living space, the hopeful look that she’s giving you is too much. “If he wants to come, he can.”
Ellie grins up at you tiredly, and you stand with her in your arms. You start to make the trek back to your apartment complex with as much gusto as you can, but your daughter is getting heavy, and the Midol you took earlier in the day is starting to wear off. The severity of your cramps are getting stronger again, and you have to fight to keep the pain out of your face.
“Here,” Jared says softly. “Let me take her.” He lifts Ellie off of you and continues to carry her the rest of the way to your apartment.
During your walk, you text Melissa that your time at the park got cut short because Ellie was hungry and to just meet you at your apartment- that Jared would be there, and you expect her to play nice.
She of course texts you back that she just got out of her meeting, that she makes no promises, and asks if he handed you the child support money yet. You reply with a thumbs down, and she tells you that she’ll get into contact with her guy on the way home.
You unlock your door and have him set a now sleeping Ellie on the couch before making your way into the kitchen to start dinner. Instinctively, he picks up a knife and helps you to start cutting up the vegetables you’ll need to make dinner.
It takes you back to when the two of you were married and cooking dinner together was considered your sacred time together. You wipe a tear away as you finish cutting up the tomato.
“Hey, are you really in that much pain right now?” Jared asks you, softly… tenderly.
You just nod. He doesn’t need to know that you’re in just as much emotional pain right now as you are in physical pain.
Your ex-husband takes you by the shoulder and guides you to one of the chairs at the table. He grabs the heating pad that you had left on the counter earlier that day and plugs it in before pressing it to your abdomen.
Just as he’s going to pull away, you hear the front door open again. You know it’s Melissa. And as she rounds the corner, Jared kisses you for her to see.

Her Girl (Melissa Schemmenti x f!Reader)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Sometimes you have to calm Melissa down, and sometimes you get more than you bargained for when you do.
Words: 1.6k
Warnings: anger, gross men, mentioned violence
“And so all I had to say to him was glitter was for special occasions. To which he told me anything could be a special occasion which really made me reevaluate some things,” you said to the camera crew, brushing some of the green glitter off your hands, “an ordinary day could be a special occasion and maybe we should celebrate-”
A teacher rushed past you, throwing a scared glance back over their shoulder. You watched them go before you began to hear the shouting that was coming from down the hall. One voice, in particular, was very familiar.
“Would you excuse me for a moment?” you said to the camera crew, before following the sounds of conflict.
Bursting into the staff room you found most of the teachers pushed to the outer edges, looking inwards at the centre of the room. Melissa had the neck of a poor teacher’s shirt clutched in her fist, the other brandishing a plastic knife close enough to his eye to cause concern. The murder in her own eyes was also a concern. He was trying to cower away from her but her grip was strong and her anger unstoppable.
“What’s going on?” you whispered to Janine.
“I think he said something she didn’t like,” she whispered back, “she keeps calling him a pig.”
“Are you going to intervene?” Gregory asked, leaning over to you.
At some point in the last three years you’d been teaching at Abbott you’d become the designated person to calm Melissa down. It had started with small things like noticing when the vein beginning to throb in her temple or the way her gaze turned sharp when Janine began to talk. You would usher from the room or distract her until that anger was forgotten. Now, whenever it looked like she was going to kill someone, you were sought out to stop it on school property.
And no one knew why you were the only one that could calm her down. Yourself included.
“You’re pathetic,” Melissa shouted, “you can’t say shit like that. Not about her.”
“I suppose I have to, don’t I?” you sighed.
You stepped into the no man’s land left from the teachers trying to keep out of the way of Melissa’s rage while still watching the fight. There was a sharp intake of breath from behind. You ignored it, pausing at your friend’s shoulder.
“Hey Mel,” you said, keeping your voice light, letting her know you were there without sneaking up on her, “what’s going on?”
“This piece of shit has been running his mouth,” she replied, the knife coming dangerously close to his eye.
“And you’re planning on stabbing him in the eye?” you asked.
“I’m planning on teaching him he can’t say shit like that,” she said.
You eased your way around her until you were able to see her face. You reached up, curling your fingers around her wrist, the one holding the knife, holding it in case a sudden move took his eye out. His gaze flicked down to you then back to the knife, turning cross eyed as he tried to keep it in sight.
“I’m not sure this is the best way of doing that,” you said to her.
She looked to you, those green eyes flashing with an anger that was far beyond what you were used to. If anyone but Melissa had looked at you like that you would have flinched back, but you knew Melissa. You trusted Melissa. She would never hurt you.
“Tell her what you said,” she demanded of the man.
You looked to him, still held in a death grip. He whimpered at the knife wavering in front of his face.
“I was just voicing my admiration for you-“
“Don’t you dare lie right to my face,” Melissa growled before looking back to you, “he said that he’s fantasised about bending you over your desk and that your mouth looks perfect for blowjobs.”
“Ew,” you said looking back at him, sweeping your eyes over his trembling body, “gross.”
“And so I have to take his tongue so he never says it again” she said.
He whimpered again. You sighed, leaning towards Melissa, lowering your voice.
“There are witnesses. Ava is filming. Think this through, Mel. There’s enough evidence for them to take you down if you do anything right now.”
She huffed, eyes finding your face. She allowed her hand to be lowered by the hold you still had on her wrist. You were soft as you plucked the knife out of her hand. She shoved the man back before releasing him, watching him trip over his own feet to sprawl on the ground. You didn’t even bother sparing him a glance before stepping in front of Melissa properly.
“Come on,” you said, keeping your voice low enough that she was the only one who’d hear, “he’s not worth criminal charges.”
The growl low in her throat shouldn’t have done something to you but an angry Melissa had an appeal that was hard to understand. She was staring at you, clearly thinking it over. Your thumb brushed against her pulse point, feeling it beating hard under your touch. She jerked out of your hold.
“Fine,” she ground out.
“Now let’s leave that creep to…” You glanced over your shoulder at him, nose wrinkling at the spreading wet patch, “find new trousers.”
She strode out of the room, other teachers scattering to give her a clear walkway. You followed in her wake, ignoring the whispers that sprung up behind you. Half running, you trailed her into her classroom, watching her hands clenching into fists.
“Mel…”
“Don’t.” She spun on you, “he was outta line.”
“Sure, but he’s hardly the first guy who’s said something gross about me and he’s not going to be last. At least he didn’t come up to me and say it to my face expecting me to jump into bed with him like it’s some kind of compliment,” you said, “c’mon Mel, you know what guys are like.”
“He has no right to say that stuff about you,” she growled.
A slow smile began to stretch over your face. Her scowl deepened.
“Were you defending my honour?” you asked.
She mumbled something under her breath.
“Melissa Schemmenti, you were totally defending my honour,” you laughed.
“He doesn’t get to talk about you like that,” she said.
“Mel, it’s fine,” you reassured.
“No it’s not,” she snapped.
“Why not?” you asked.
“Because you’re my girl.”
Her outburst wasn’t expected by either of you. She blinked, taking a step back as your mouth fell open, watching her. Your heart thudded against your ribs and for the first time with her uncertainty filled your veins.
“What?” Your voice came out in a whisper.
She sighed, looking less than pleased at the situation she’d found herself in.
“Look, everyone here knows your my girl. They know not to talk about you like that,” she said.
“Okay can we cycle back to the bit about me being your girl,” you said, “what?”
She rolled her eyes before both of her hands cupped your cheeks and pulled you in. Lips pressed together, stealing your breath, making your skin tingle with electricity. Your hands found a home on her hips, pulling her closer as she nipped at your bottom lip. Her fingers slid into your hair as she drew back.
“Sweetheart, you’re the only one who didn’t know you were my girl,” she said, “why do you think I let you talk me out of most of my revenge plans? It’s not because I don’t wanna do them.”
“Have I been your girlfriend this entire time without knowing it?” you asked.
“Course not, hon,” she said, “but you will be.”
“I’m so confused,” you said, “can we got back to the bit where you kiss me again?”
She chuckled, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, fingers lingering on your jaw. The anger had been replaced with something softer, the kind of look that you were more used to seeing directed your way from her. You melted under her touch.
“Look, I had a plan that involved inviting you over and cooking. That human skid mark ruined it but he should have known better. I’m the only one who gets to think those things about you,” she said.
“You think those things about me?” you asked.
Her eyes darted to the side.
“Sometimes.”
“What sort of things do you think?” you asked, tugging on her hips until she was flush against you.
“I might have thought about pinning you to my kitchen counter and eating something…” Her gaze swept down your body, making heat bloom within you, “sweet.”
“You better be planning on following through with those thoughts,” you murmured, “otherwise I’ll be very disappointed.”
“I don’t want to disappoint you,” she whispered, lips pulling up into a smile.
“Then I guess I am your girl.”
You kissed her, deep and longing. Her tongue swept in, sending your thoughts spiralling until there was nothing but her. She seemed to delight in the way you moaned into her mouth, fingers tightening in your hair.
“Alright,” she mumbled against your lips, “tonight. My place. Now get outta here before I do something stupid like bending you over my desk.”
“Now who’s outta line,” you laughed.
She swatted at your ass as you walked out of her classroom. You threw a smile over your shoulder at her, only to find a soft smile already on hers. Your heart fluttered at the sight, your dreams seeming to have come true on a random Thursday.

i'm asking nicely: give me what i want (melissa schemmenti x fem!teacher!reader)
summary: you and your girlfriend make a bet about who can last the longest without sex.
warnings: nsfw themes but no smut (yet), sorta humiliation, praise, mentions of overstim and bondage and punishment, explicit language. you and melissa are gay idiots
notes: a little something for your kinktober tastes! sorry it's not the fluffiest story—i'm like mostly aromantic, so i can't write love very well. this is my first time writing with the whole abbott gang, so let me know how i did! this one goes out to the girls who love teasing, light bickering, and sexy dialogue.
Tumblr media
it all started with a bet.
you and melissa had been dating for just under a month (publicly for two weeks), and it was pure bliss. every time she looked at you with that playful sparkle in her eyes, you wanted to melt. she cared for you in a way that never failed to warm your heart.
she was passionate, too. her touch was magic. she could just lightly graze your thigh with her fingers, and you'd be putty in her hands. and she made you feel desirable. every time you were intimate, you could tell she was hungry for you. it turned you on beyond belief.
although things were wonderful between you two, you both loved a fight. you both realized this early on, and you'd take turns starting silly arguments for the fun of it. you could never resist pushing each other's buttons.
at worst, it would end with one of you pouting and the other apologizing. at best, it would end with you bent over melissa's lap as she took her frustrations out on you, or with you between her legs making up for being mean, or with her whispering soft apologies in your ear as she bounced you on her fingers...
tonight she had you pinned against her kitchen counter, kissing her way down your neck and relishing in your high-pitched sounds of need. she had been teasing you all day, working you up into a frenzy, and you did nothing but whine about how unfair it was. you would have let it go, but that was before she said...
"you're so easy, hon." she laughed into the crook of our neck, responding to your helpless whimpers. you pulled back and looked at her with wide eyes.
"mel... i am not," you said with a pout. she stared back at you, an amused smirk playing on her lips. god, she looked beautiful like this: her red hair slightly out of place, her full chest heaving, her eyes heavy with want.
"sure you're not," she teased. "that's why your legs are trembling 'n you can barely hold yourself up after a little bit of kissing."
she kissed the tip of your nose and you blushed, knowing she was right. she pressed you harder against the counter, holding your hips with both hands. she gently pinched the skin there, silently asking if she could continue. you shook your head resolutely.
"let's make this more interesting," you said, with mischief written on your face. melissa perked up. she loved bets. "no sex until one of us gives in and asks for it."
"alright, but don't ask me to put money on it. you know i quit gamblin' after i bet ava that jacob couldn't do a backflip."
"he is surprisingly agile," you giggled at the memory. "how about... if i win, you buy me that white lingerie set we saw at the store the other day."
melissa shuddered internally at the thought of her beautiful, innocent angel in such a heavenly set. the image gave her an idea of her own.
"deal," she leaned in close, ghosting her lips over the shell of your ear. "but if i win... i get to tie your arms and legs to the bedposts and make you come over and over until you sob."
you forgot how to breathe for a moment, and your knees nearly buckled underneath you. you contemplated folding right then, but you wanted to see where this little game would lead.
"you're on, schemmenti." you shook her hand, and melissa chuckled at your attempt at a firm handshake. even her laugh got you flustered and needy. you were a goner.
---
you knew melissa would come up with some plot to make you lose the game, but you didn't expect it to happen so soon. the next morning, you and melissa were sitting at your usual table in the workroom, sipping coffee and chatting with everyone. that's when her antics started.
"hey, doll, would you mind grabbin' me another cup of coffee?" melissa asked, handing you her 'tucci on' mug and flashing that irresistibly charming smile. you took the mug from her hands and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before heading to the coffee maker.
you could feel her eyes on you as you stood up, straightening out your skirt that had ridden up a bit too far to be appropriate for school. she continued to stare you down as you poured the coffee and brought it to her. you felt breathless from the intensity of her full attention.
"that's my good girl, thank you," she practically purred when you handed her the coffee, looking up at you smugly through her glasses. you nearly dropped the mug from shock, shooting her a look. how could she be so bold in front of your coworkers? it made you blush furiously.
gregory was the first to catch on, giving an awkward side eye to the cameras at melissa's words. melissa was undeterred, taking a sip of her coffee and making an exaggerated sound of pleasure, causing you to hide your face in your hands.
"god, that hits the spot," melissa said lowly, smirking at her own innuendo. jacob and janine looked between the two of you and each other, trading curious looks.
"oh hon, your necklace is all tangled in the back," melissa said, standing up and positioning herself behind you. "let me fix it for ya."
the older woman leaned down and caressed up your arms, leaving goosebumps in her wake. her fingers then crawled from your collarbones to the back of your neck, where she knew you were sensitive. she pretended to adjust your necklace while her fingers drew lazy patterns there. that, combined with the feeling of her warmth on you after the previous night's denial, had you weak. she sat back down in her chair with a satisfied huff.
at melissa's odd behavior and your pitiful reaction, your friends put it together that something was going on. even barbara gave melissa a questioning look. still, nobody said anything. until ava entered the room. the principal took one look at your flushed face and broke the silence.
"damn schemmenti, what'd you do to this one? i figured you were into some kinky shit, but..." she trailed off.
"AVA!" janine, barbara, and melissa scolded at once. "not appropriate!" barbara added.
"fine, but y'all know i'm right," ava said. she turned to you and melissa. "you better be at happy hour tonight. this looks juicy, and i'm gonna need some entertainment besides janine's dance moves."
you tuned out janine's offended "hey!", remembering the plans for that night. happy hour. fuck. you needed a plan, and a good one.
---
you never thought you'd willingly ask for ava's help on anything, but here you were. you sat in her office with your arms folded, embarrassed to be sharing this with your boss of all people. then again, ava was the probably the only person who knew how to get the job done.
"you really think that'll work?" you asked, mulling over ava's idea.
"obviously. you gotta use that body, girl. i'm talkin' playboy bunny sexy," she scrolled on her phone as she talked, keeping up her usual disinterested demeanor.
"but... what if she's put off by it?" you wondered aloud. ava looked up from her phone and raised an eyebrow at you.
"i don't know if you've noticed, but your girlfriend's a total perv," she deadpanned. your jaw dropped and you stared at her, incredulous. "what, it's true! i see her lookin' up your skirt and down your shirt every damn day. y'all nasty."
she was right, of course. you didn't always catch it, but whenever you bent over in front of melissa, she looked ready to eat you alive. you gave in and started to plot tonight's outfit in your head.
"thanks, ava! next time i need help coming up with a scheme, i'll come to you," you said, bouncing out of the room excitedly.
"run, little lesbian bunny! go get your girl!" ava laughed to herself and went back to her phone.
---
melissa's eyes were dark and narrow, fixed on you in your special outfit. you couldn't tell if she was angry or turned on. probably both.
your clothing was tasteful, yet tantalizing: a strawberry pink crop top with a generous v-neck and white mini skirt (the one that drove mel crazy). a sheer pink slip was draped over your shoulders, giving your body a distinct glow under the bar lights. you had even dolled yourself up with makeup—soft lip gloss and glittery eyeshadow, plus classic eyeliner and mascara—and worn your favorite white heels to match. you looked out of place in the bar, like an angel wandering the earth.
you pointedly ignored melissa as she stared daggers at you. you played with your hair with one hand and held your drink with the other, dancing and talking with jacob and ava. you made sure to run your hands up and down your body while you moved to the music. jacob droned on to you about the color pink and how it's so powerful for women to reclaim it. barbara stood next to melissa, the pair leaning against the wall and trading hushed remarks.
while jacob continued to talk, you made your move. you gave ava a nudge and she nodded, then "accidentally" knocked your water out of your hand—completely soaking your shirt and a bit of your skirt. you stood up in faux shock and finally made eye contact with melissa as you palmed at your clothes (and body).
"oh godddd," you whined, dragging out the sound. two could play at that game. you walked over to melissa. "baby, can you clean me up? i know you keep napkins in your purse."
melissa was salivating. she shamelessly drank in the sight of your body all wet, your tits glistening with droplets of water. the water was icy cold, so the outlines of your nipples were visible underneath your shirt. she was almost too focused on the view to process your request, and scrambled to find the napkins in her purse once she caught up.
"uhmmm yeah, yeah, i gotcha, honey," melissa said in a rare moment of weakness.
when a napkin inevitably got lost in the shuffle and fell to the ground, you knew you had won. you bent over slowly, wiggling your ass subtly as you picked it up. you stumbled backwards as you stood back up, deliberately brushing up against her front.
"i'm so cold, mel..." you turned around, leaned even closer into her, and grabbed hold of her shirt, tracing lazy patterns on her chest to tease her. "i've got goosebumps, feel!"
you took her hand in yours and then placed it at the top of your left breast, where your heart was. the soft skin was indeed covered in goosebumps, and even more emerged when melissa started lightly massaging. she couldn't help herself. you both felt your heartbeat quicken at her touch and shared a look of understanding.
"guess we should get ya home then, huh?" melissa smiled, wrapping her arm around your waist. you nodded, nuzzling into her.
you two said goodbye to your friends before leaving the bar. ava gave you a wink and a lewd gesture as you walked out the door, making you roll your eyes. barbara rose her wine glass and nodded at melissa, giving her a silent "cheers."
---
as soon as the car door shut, melissa grabbed your thigh to get your full attention.
"i quit," she smiled. "and i'll be happy to buy you that lingerie, especially after seein' you in this pretty little number."
you beamed with pride. you had won a competition against melissa schemmenti! and you couldn't wait to enjoy your prize. seeing your face, mel's face broke into a mischievous grin.
"don't get all excited yet, sweetheart. you were pretty bratty tonight, flittin' around and makin' a fool of me in front of all our friends. i really should teach you a lesson, don't ya think?"
your breath caught in your throat as you remembered what she'd promised to do if she won. she had never punished you before. your core throbbed at the idea.
"i guess it's only fair that you get a... consolation prize," you replied sheepishly, grinning from ear to ear as you watched her face light up.

a/n: hiii everyone!! this is my first little story, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it, if you want to see more of my writing feel free to send me a request!! Enjoy! ;) words: 1.9k
warnings: tiny bit of swearing, I wrote this with a fem reader, kinda jealous Melissa
When you walk into the staff room in the morning, the first person you notice is your beautiful girlfriend, sitting at her usual table, sipping her coffee with her work wife, Barb, right next to her. At first, she doesn’t notice you, being way too preoccupied by whatever story Barbara is telling. But when she does turn to you, with a frown still on her face from the conversation that was happening prior, her gaze softens and she gives you a soft smile only you can recognize as an “I love you”.
“There she is!” you hear Jacob saying from across the room “Where were you? How come you didn’t get here at the same time as Melissa? Oh no, did you guys fight?” He nervously says as he quickly makes his way over to you.
“Nooo!! No no, I was just running a little bit late so I told Mel to leave without me, thank you for your concern tho!” you laugh.
Everyone at Abbott knew you and Melissa were together, infact, they were the ones who had gotten you two together in the first place, six months ago and they were the biggest fans too. If anything ever happened between you two, your colleagues would probably be more crushed than you and your own girlfriend.
You hear the teacher’s lounge door open and turn around to see who it might be. Suddenly, one of your very close friends and fellow teacher at Abbott, Lauryn, bursts into the room with her usual smile plastered on her face. When she sees you waving, she makes her way over to you.
“Hey girl!! Such a nice day today huh?” she says.
“It is! Oh my god I love your dress!!” you exclaim as you look up and down at her outfit. She is wearing the most beautiful flower patterned dress. You make a mental note to look online for a similar one when you get home tonight.
“Thank you so much!! You know, I bet it would make that perfect ass of yours stand out, you should get one.” She says and proceeds to lick her lips.
You blush out of embarrassment. Did she forget you are with someone? Even worse, that Melissa is literally sitting not even 2 meters from where this very awkward interaction just took place and heard it? You quickly try and look at Jacob, trying to see if he heard the same thing, but unfortunately, he has already left and is talking to Gregory. You quickly glance over at your girlfriend who you can tell very well, has her fists clenched so hard and is fuming right now.
“Uh, thanks!” you try to say as normally as possible, trying to hide the confusion in your face.  “Um anyways, I really have to go, the kids are going to get here soon.” You quickly say and wave goodbye, smiling at her. You rush out of the room, wanting to get away from this whole situation as fast as possible. However, Melissa notices this weird behavior, as she is getting up to come check on you Barb sits her back down.
“Melissa, you heard what she said, the kids will be getting here soon, she probably just wants to prepare everything.” she says “And besides i'm not done with my story yet, so sit back down.” she adds, while tugging at her sleeve to bring her back down.
When you get to your classroom, you start writing everything you need down on the board, such as the date and the kids schedule that they can rely on during the day. While you’re writing with your favouite purple dry erase marker, your mind starts to wander off. You start to think about how everyone has been telling you for weeks now that Lauryn might be in love with you, but you’ve just been denying it and shrugging it off. But now, you’re starting to wonder if it’s actually true. It’s not like you’re into Lauryn or anything, you have the best girlfriend in the world! Infact, Lauryn’s flirty comments are starting to make you feel uncomfortable, you thought she knew that you were dating Melissa…maybe she forgot?
Before you know it, the bell rings and your little kiddos are running in and hugging you like they normally do every morning. You snap out of your thoughts and start your lesson, you’ll deal with the issue eventually, but for now, all that matters is your students.
After lunch was your free period while your students were in gym class. Today, you preferred to avoid everyone and stay in your classroom to do some grading on the most recent test.
Just as you put a sticker on the last copy, you hear a soft knock at the door, you turn arround expecting to see Melissa but you’re met with Lauryn’s grin, holding her cellphone.
“Hey! Am I bothering you?” She asks, peeking into your classroom to see if anyone else is there.
“Nope, I just finished grading these papers.” You reply, gesturing to the stack of documents on the corner of your desk.
“Ahhh alright well, I need to show you this video, it’s so us!” She says excitedly and comes to stand next to where you’re sitting down.
You start to watch the video but quickly realise it’s dedicated to couples… you stop paying attention and focus more on the reflection of the glass of the phone, when you see Lauryn, she’s not.. looking at the video? You try to see what she’s looking at and realize that she is staring directly at your cleavage, practically drooling too. You get red. You get uncomfortable. You start to pray for her to leave or someone to wal-
Someone knocks at the door, again.
“Am I interrupting something?” You look up, recognizing the voice.
Melissa is standing at the door, hands on her hips.
“Oh hey Melissa!” says Lauryn “You aren’t interrupting anything, I was just showing Y/N this video.” She goes to show Mel the clip.
Your girlfriend clearly also realizes the video is meant for couples and clears her throat, crossing her arms. This makes you look up at her. You can see that she’s jealous, she is part of the group of people that think Lauryn is in love with you and she is also not having it right now.
“Well, I’ll leave you two lovebirds to it!” Says Lauryn, she waves goodbye at the two of you and walks out of your classroom. Clearly she knows that you and Mel are together, so what is this all about?
You and your girlfriend stare at eachother for what feels like forever, until you decide to speak up first.
“Look I d-” You start.
“What the hell was that?” Your girlfriend cuts you off.
“Listen Melissa, I have no idea she just, ugh!” You say, being exhausted from this whole situation “Please don’t be mad, I don’t feel like fighting, I’ll talk to her later.” You finish.
“Hon,I'm not mad, heck if anything I'm jealous!” she says, uncrossing her arms and slowly walking towards you “She’s always making these comments and remarks about your body and undressing you with her eyes! I’m the only one who gets to do that here. And the worst part is, I can tell you hate it, it makes you extremely uncomfortable.” She continues, bending down infront of you and resting her hands on the armrests of your chair. You blush, she knows you perfectly.
“It does.” You say, getting more and more red. You quickly look down at her lips, unknowingly licking your own. The redhead in front of you notices.
“I know it does” she answers, bending her face down to yours, your mouths are inches away from each other “And no, i’ll be the one to do something about it.”
You smile before kissing her softly, she kisses you back with just as much softness. After a moment, the kiss starts to turn more and more hungry. She places her hand on the back of your neck, pulling you closer. You smile into the kiss. The school bell suddenly rings, signaling that you have to go get your kids from the gym.
You groan as you pull away from her mouth
“Fuck, I have to go get my kids at the gym! I’m so sorry Mel, I'll talk to you later!” You quickly peck her lips before exiting your class.
Melissa stays there for a moment, smiling to herself, thinking about how much she loves you.
It’s the end of the day, you students have alrea dy gone home and all that’s left to do is go down to the teacher’s lounge to collect your things that you had left there.
When you get there, you’re greeted by all your friends who are also gathering their things.
“Hey girl, did you have a good day? I didn’t see you around much?” Asks Janine, with a small frown, her face slightly coated in worry.
“Yes I had a good day, I just had a lot of grading to do and preferred to do it in my own space.” You reply reassuringly.
“Oh okay!” She smiles at you.
“Hey, uh, Y/N?” You recognize the voice, it’s Lauryn “Do you think maybe.. you’d wanna um, get drinks or something tonight?” She asks nervously.
“Uh, um” you have no idea what to say “I uh..”
Melissa, who was talking to Barb as per usual, notices you and Lauryn right away and decides that this is her time to shine, this is where this little Lauryn thing stops.
“Hey, Lauryn?” Melissa says while approaching you from behind “Have you ever noticed in the last six months that, I don’t know, me and Y/N are dating? Or did you just think we were joking?”
“Oh! Well..” The girl in front of you says
“Save it glasses, and save up that money for a new pair because this one isn’t working” Mel says “Now back the fuck off before I throw you down the stairs and the only drinks you’ll be getting are jello cups from the hospital” She finishes, before quickly turning around to grab her things and you by the arm and dragging you out the door.
“Oh, bye guys!!” She loudly says to everyone else in the room to make sure everyone heard.
“Bye Melissa!” Janine awkwardly says and makes her way towards Lauryn to check on her, not to comfort her, just to make sure no one ends up hating her in the future.
When you get to Melissa’s car, you can’t help but smile at her, and then well, laugh. You had no idea she was going to do this right then and there but she did. She joins the laughing fit after a few seconds.
“Oh how I love you!” You kiss her passionately before turning to your own car “I’ll see you at home sweetheart!” You yell at her before shutting your car door and starting your engine.
“I love you more hon, i’ll cook you your favorite pasta for dinner!” She yells back before shutting her car door as well.
With that, you both drive away to where was originally only Melissa’s house, but is now yours too, and you plan on it being for a very long time. Plus, you get to look for that new dress you want!

Stiles Stillinski: The Best friend
Stiles stillinski x fem!reader
Summary:
Stiles and stiles are the best friends.
Also just to be clear I know that the true meaning behind this song is, I just heard that one clip and got an idea.
Tumblr media
(Stiles in a backwards cap>>>)
I’m just the best friend in Hollywood movies, who only exist to continue the story.
The pack had made plans to go bowling, and didn’t think to tell stiles and y/n who were sitting at home trying to solve one of their most recent supernatural problems. Y/n sighed “where the hell is Scott?” She asked impatiently. The pair had been waiting on him for about 45 minutes. Stiles shrugged and asked “should I call him again?”. Y/n shook her head “no, we’re gonna go over to his house and see what the hell is up” she said standing up. Stiles didn’t object following close behind her. when they arrived at Scott’s, stiles rang the door bell. Not 10 seconds later the door opened to show an out of breath Melissa. “Stiles, y/n? What are you doing here why aren’t you with the others?” She asked. The pair looked at each other then back at her in confusion “what do you mean Scott was supposed to meet us an hour ago to talk about the recent “drama”” stiles said. Melissa seemed taken aback “guys, the others are at the movies” she said. y/n looked at stiles shocked while he just stared at Melissa in seemingly stunned. “Okay, thanks” y/n said grabbing stiles and dragging him to the Jeep. Tears stung at y/ns eyes and stiles looked like he had just been betrayed. Y/n grabbed his hand making him look at her. She put a smile on as tears ran down her face “I’m sure it was a mistake” she said the words trying to cheer the boy up but not even believing them herself.
The girl gets the guy while I’m standing off screen
Y/n and stiles watched all of their friends fall in and out of love wondering if they’d ever find that kind of connection, They both found comfort in each other since in the same situation. It was especially bad when they both lost their crushes to people that weren’t them. They sat broken, crying together and eventually healed together.
So, ill wait for my cue to be comedic relief
“I don’t know how to help you to help me tell you something that would help you if I don’t know it” stiles said to Scott’s dad who was holding him and y/n hostage at this point. He looked to y/n “you seem to be the more sensible one here, help me out would ya?” Scotts dad asked. Y/n looked at stiles who just shrugged and back at the tall man in front of her “see I would help you but… I don’t know how to help you to help me tell you something that would help you if I don’t know it” she said making the man huff in anger, discreetly high giving stiles who had a proud look on his face.
Can’t be too loud
“SHHHHH” echoed across the room while everyone looked at stiles and y/n who were just goofing around during the game.
Can’t be too busy, if I don’t answer now are they still gonna need me?
Y/n had gotten a call from Allison who had asked if she and stiles could help find the new werewolf that they had discovered to which y/n politely declined for te=he first time ever as stiles had asked her on a date. After that it took a week and a half for either of them to be contacted
———
“Hey stiles” y/n spoke up from her place on his chest. She felt his hum vibrate through his body. “Do you think our friends would care if something were to happen to either of us?” She asked. Stiles stiffened as if caught off guard by the question. “Honestly I’m not sure, I think they’d fight to find or save us but not as hard as they would for each other.” He said sounding sad.
Not too long after that conversation void happened, Scott fought his hardest to get stiles back while y/n had sat with boiling anger towards the boy who had only just started caring for his “best friends” again.

Never Changed
Another song-spo fic. Been feeling Knoxville heavy these past few days. Saw an edit by someone of tik tok of him during the Gumball Rally with this song…brain rot occurred.
WC 1.2K
Warnings: angst, flirting, semi-established on and off relationship, smoking, drinking, making out, groping etc. 18+
Song: Change (In the House of Flies) by the Deftones
I tried my best making the reader as body neutral as possible, still working on improving!
pabtsblueliving © 2023
You and Knox had been on and off for years.
It was cat and mouse for as long as you could remember.
You were a well known model, walking for Versace, Gucci, and Mugler since 2004. You somehow got roped into the Jackass crew when you had went to the first premier of the movie which was a backyard BBQ with celebrities left and right, playboy models and hustler girls walking around everywhere you looked.
Youd shown up with friends, Knoxville stealing you to say hi right after youd grabbed a drink.
“Big fan” He smiled, god that smile
“Likewise” you spoke, shaking his hand.
I watched you change, into a fly
I looked away, you were on fire.
It was breaking up and making up, every few months. Youd fuck, youd fight, youd see him in the tabloids with a new blonde the next day. Then after your declaration of finally being “done with him”...He’d show up backstage of your latest runway show.
I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings
Now, you feel so alive, I've watched you change
Bam Margera had invited your best friend to come to the bar the Jackass Crew and himself were at in New York City. You knew he would be there, and you told yourself no…don't feel into his ego…don't show him, he still had you wrapped around his finger.
“Come on, Y/N, seriously…for me? You know ive been into Bam lately…And you know all those guys anyways! Who cares if Johnny will be there” Your friend, Melissa, had a big grin, batting her lashes at you.
You looked at her and let your head fall back as you sighed,
“Fine…Mel, alright I'll come. For. An. Hour” You pointed in her face, walking to your suitcase to pick out something to wear.
She landed a big kiss on your cheek, and you laughed.
“Y/N, holy shit I love you, I will totally owe you a drink at the bar!” She gleaned, running to put her shoes on.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, fluffing your hair. You'd thrown on your outfit Finishing the look with your harness motorcycle boots, and that one final…accessory.
His belt
God, you'd stolen that belt from him two years ago and he hasn't asked about it back since. The jewelry around your neckline and wrists clanged together as you reached for it.
It was black, some studs, and his old red Waylon Jennings belt buckle on it. You were wearing it, you had to. Mess with him a little, tease a little, maybe piss him off…who knows what wearing this belt would do to you.
I took you home, Set you on the glass
I pulled off your wings, Then I laughed
You and Melissa walked into the dive bar in Brooklyn. You had looked around, spotting Wee-man hand standing on the bar while also funneling a beer.
You and Melissa couldn't help but to groan while laughing, what the hell did we get ourselves into.
“Well, well, I knew you’d be here.” You hear a familiar, Pennsylvanian accent slur.
Melissa turned around, and smiled, giving him a hug. You still had no idea if he had said that to you, or his date who’d finally arrived.
Bam smiled and hugged Melissa, then looked up at you in their embrace, and spoke
“Yeah, I'm talking to you.” He laughed, and Melissa pulled away. “Good luck” He said, accent prominent, and pulling Melissa on his arm towards the other guys.
Melissa looked back and cringed, mouthing ‘Sorry’ as she continued to walk with Bam. A few minutes later, youre standing at the end of the bar, chin in your hand, waiting for your much needed gin and tonic.
“...So that’s where my belt has been, huh.” You heard that voice, his voice, shit, compose yourself a bit, dont turn around yet.
You kept yourself facing the bartender, feeling Johnny’s looming figure just inches behind you.
“Yeah, well…” You turned around, straw in your lips.
“I always thought it looked better on me, no?” You tossed your hair over your shoulder, taking another sip.
I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings
Now, you feel so alive, I've watched you change
He looked down at you, and tilted his sunglasses down.
“I take it back…you look quite lovely tonight, Rabbit.” He said softly, taking off his sunglasses fully.
That nickname, he's playing a dangerous game, but he's playing it just right
“Starting already, Knox?” You couldn't help but to smile, you two were like magnets whenever you were five feet within the same space together.
“Whaaat, Y/N…you’re being mean tonight…are you breaking up with me?” He joked, smiling after his last few words.
“Don’t you wanna catch up?” His arms slapped against his thighs, grabbing his beer from the bar and taking a sip.
“What to hear about the next blonde youre seeing?” You rolled your eyes, “Dont think im too interested, Knox.
I look at the cross, then I look away
“Hey…come on now, that's over with…” He stepped closer, you're now trapped between him and the bar. “Come have a smoke with me…” He grinned, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his shirt pocket.
I'm in for it, and now I'm crossing a path that's near impossible to turn around on.
He lit your stick, then his. You had your back against the brick wall, him leaning on the wall on his side, on arm holding him up above his head.
You both took a drag, making eye contact, not breaking with the other. He exhaled his smoke, stepping closer, his hand with the cigarette stroking the side of your face, thumb going over your lip.
“I always forget how gorgeous you are, rabbit…” he pulled up your chin as you took another drag
“How do we,” You exhaled the smoke, “always end up like this, huh, John?”
Your mind was fuzzy, you had a buzz, desire.
“Maybe this is just…meant to be.” He took your cigarette and put it out, grabbing your waist and pulling you in for a smoldering kiss.
You gasped, usually you're able to fend him off for at least another hour. But, the inevitable is going to happen.
You pulled him in by his belt buckle, whining into the kiss. The feeling of his tongue shooting straight to your core. He tasted like beer and cigarettes, your favorite.
Give you the gun Blow me away
I watched a change in you It's like you never had wings
His right hand sneaked down, and grabbed a handful of your ass slowly, and he groaned. You took this opportunity to stick your tongue between his lips and grab a handful of his hair.
“PJ” You whined…taking a breath
“Baby, come on, baby, if you call me that you know this will be a long night…” He grabbed you by the chin.
You held his belt buckle, teasing the trail of hair leading down under his dickies.
“So let be long, Knox…” You smiled.

I had a nightmare I picked the queen card and was chased and killed by the girls, nat and I were daying and she held me while I was dying in her arms 😭 I’m traumatized
Tumblr media
your inevitable
pairings. post!crash natalie x reader
warnings. mentions of blood/knives and death
i’m sorry about your nightmare BUT also thank you for the writing inspiration! this is just pure sadness i have no other words..
-
it had all moved so fast. from the moment you plucked the card from the stack in misty’s grasp, and almost instantly accepted your fate. you knew how this went, it was routine to the group by now, there was no way around it.
no returns.
the practically burning cold belonging to shauna’s blade pressed tightly against your throat, as a crowd of eyes stared you down, emotionless, yet glazed over with an almost enjoyment, like some twisted entertainment act.
in what felt like a split second, the force trapping you in place from behind was ripped away from you, and thrown to the ground, making you freeze and your ears ring. a blur of utter chaos erupted around you, and a warm hand clasped around yours, dragging you outside, and away from the cabin, refusing to slow or let up through any stumble you took.
the others clocked on within seconds, mirroring your tracks with a statement of how the wilderness had selected you to run, and for them to hunt. howls and screams followed you, echoing and bouncing off of the trees almost mockingly, the drags of their now finely crafted handmade weapons against the snow behind them.
you had never been the fastest runner on the team, and you knew in the pit of your stomach that all of this was simply the delaying of your inevitable. that’s all it was. that was how this ended. you’d seen it countless times. still, you allowed yourself to be pulled forwards, attempting to keep up with the person.
“come on, it’s okay, we’re gonna be okay, i know a place, just keep moving. i’ve got you”
natalie. of course it was her.
in the beginning of your relationship the pair of you had endless discussions about each of your fears and what you needed to help with these. of course, in all of that you had never once imagined that not only would your anxieties about everyone you love turning and ganging up on you be true, but your best friends would be physically hunting you instead, and it wasn’t some silly thought that natalie could help ease.
the same way you couldn’t reassure her that you weren’t going anywhere and that you weren’t going to leave her. because out in the wilderness, your own existence was no longer something that you had any power over. however, the silent tears slipping down her cheeks told you louder than any words could that she knew exactly what was going to happen, and that she was just doing the same as you. desperately pushing back the inevitable.
you fell to the ground and into natalie’s arms, uncontrollably sobbing and heaving as you stumbled into the space that javi had previously hidden out in. the same one that he had been trying to show her when he died. when he was chosen.
“i-i’m so scared. i don’t want to d-die. pl-please” her arms scrambled to wrap around you, as an unspoken knowing that this was the last time they would fell between the pair of you. there was no promise or reassurance she could give you that wouldn’t be entirely empty. the snow would snitch, the imprints of your previous footsteps trailing your hunters right to you.
you whimpered as she was torn away from you, as if on cue, and launched against a ‘wall’, held there by mari, misty and melissa, who’s eyes were never once not on your body, even through all of natalie’s fighting, as you were viciously hauled up and onto your feet.
van held you up, sternly, as shauna resumed her previous position behind you, and that cold feeling against your neck returned, with a significant increase in force. a refusal to allow you to escape once more.
this time there was no pause. not an ounce of hesitation from the once reserved, shy girl who you had known since you were in diapers.
the girl who cried because she’d accidentally taken your block from you when you were five, now taking your life as if it was a casual, everyday doing.
which it now was.
the wilderness wanted you. so it got you.
the last sound you heard was your girlfriend’s screams as you felt the pressure shift, flush against you, a sudden, violent warmth flooding down your neck before you slumped to the ground like a rag doll, the snapping of sticks below you eerily filling the sudden silence that overcame.
“no no no no no”
natalie fell towards you, the hold on her having been released, wailing hysterically as she cradled you, pulling you close into her and blocking out the chants of “the wilderness chose” surrounding her. she wiped away what had been your last tears and pressed a shaky kiss to your forehead as you remained motionless.
“it’s okay, you go. i love you. i’ll love you forever. i’ll never forget you. i’m so sorry baby. i’m so so sorry.” she weeped as she brushed the hair away from your face, and watched the life fade from your eyes.
she remained in that position, holding you and almost rocking you, her screams not letting up for hours until she couldn’t fight off the others from taking you away.
natalie scatorccio had never been certain about anything in her life. not really. but the one thing that she had been certain of, into adulthood, and even in her own death, decades later, when the hunts still remained, was that her love for you was the best thing she’d ever had.
and she never got over that.
not really.

Mothers best friend with Schemmenti I beg you!!!
Watch me
Pairing: Mbf! Melissa Schemmenti x Fem!Reader
Warning: homophobic mum, tattoos, cursing, bitch mum, hot Melissa, tramp stamps, arguing, let me know if I’ve left anything out
Word count: 887
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Melissa walked hand in hand downtown as you glanced at the shops you passed. A tattoo shop that was still lit up caught your attention, halting suddenly Melissa looked at you confused before you pointed.
"You want a tattoo?" She asked, they had always enticed you but you had always been too scared to get one in case you had regretted it. You nodded biting your bottom lip with a toothy grin "You wouldn't dare" she laughed "Too much of a good girl, what would your mommy say?" She teased.
She had a point, you lived to please your mother and her judgmental ways almost begging her to love you. Melissa had been her best friend since you had turned eighteen, she had even been invited to the party.
You squinted your eyes a bit before she added "What would you even get Tesoro?" Melissa added softly. "That exactly!" You smiled with a small giddy gasp "What?" She knitted her brows together confused "Tesoro".
"Naughty girl" she laughed leaning into you "getting the nickname that only I call you" brushing her nose under your ear.
That night you had saved their number on your phone and called once Melissa had left your apartment.
The following Wednesday you went in and got not only one but two tattoos both with meaning you knew you wouldn't regret.
Saturday was the next time you had seen the redhead at your family dinner "Tesoro, can you be a dear and please get me another beer?" She pouted. "Don't you dare!" Your Aunt Tony laughed "You told me to piss off and get my own!" She gasped.
"Fine. I'll get you one too" you chuckled with a little shake of your head as you wandered off into the kitchen. Once you had left your mother turned to the woman, wine in hand as she asked "Why do you call her Tesoro?".
Melissa only shrugged "Tesoro means treasure so it only makes sense cause she's golden, Y'know that" she spoke with an airy voice. "She's almost twenty-five and still isn't married let alone dating. I was married to her father and already had her by her age. There ain't nothing golden about that girl".
The redhead licked her teeth trying to tone down some of her arising rage "It was different back then Joanne, you and I both know it". Your mother only scoffed before ranting on about how kids these days were too sensitive "Boys are fawning over her at the church but she just brushes them off".
Joanne leant in "I'm scared she might be one of those lesbians" She nodded her head as if it was a disgrace. "And I'm not having my only daughter- my only child being one of them" and that was enough for Aunt Tony to excuse herself to go see what's taking you so long.
"Tesoro?" She teased running her fingers along the bottom of your back where your shirt had risen. Quickly you snapped up from the bottom of the fridge "Is that what the kids are doing these days? Getting tramp stamps of names given by their parent's best friends?" Tony chuckled.
"Maybe" you spoke holding your head high "Don't worry, I got one for your Aunt Jess too. It's normal that people to get tattoos for their partners, I don't judge baby" the woman placed a gentle hand on your upper arm.
Your mother had always believed the two had just been "good friends" Tony was your dad's sister. Jess had been a nurse in the nineties when she meet your Aunt after an ugly bar fight.
"There's another tattoo, Mel hasn't seen them yet- she doesn't know that I got it done" you mumbled. You can hear the yells of both unsupervised women before Melissa storms into the kitchen gripping your wrist and dragging you out of the house.
Stopping at the front door she turned back around "And if you ever do try that, and I mean ever. You best believe I'll shove my foot so far up your bitchy prestigious ass that you'll be tasting the leather of my heeled boots for months. Y/n is a grown fucking woman who I'm sure is capable of picking her own choice of lover, not some boy just learning about boobs!"
You had zoned out after that, focusing on Melissa's face as she defended you- how hot she looked doing it. The heat pooled in the pit of your stomach as your breathing got heavy "I think you should get going" Tony nodded to the door.
Melissa huffed before taking her leave, grip still tight on your wrist as she led you to the car. "God that was hot" you breathed out as she slammed your front door, pushing her against it as she pulled your shirt off.
Melissa stilled bringing her hand up softly to caress the area above your left breast, two lipstick mark tattoos. More specifically they were Melissa's lipstick marks that she had left you with that morning before she rushed to work. "Forever and always" she mumbles reading the line underneath leaving goosebumps in her wake.
"Wait till you see the treasure in the back" you winked turning to walk to your bedroom, Melissa's breath hitched "You naughty girl" she smirked before running after you.

note: this was my first ever request which was super cool <3 very honored to be trusted with y’all’s brainrot. i hope i did this justice and thank u so much for asking
Tumblr media
giorgia schemmenti was a tough nut to crack. the first two years you were with melissa, you were close to panic before every family dinner, sure your girlfriend’s mother hated you. melissa had probably spent a collective hundred hours convincing you her mother didn’t hate you, she’s just italian baby. it wasn’t until giorgia schemmenti herself gave you first pick at the famous homemade cannolis over cousin vinny did you know you were part of the schemmenti family. five years and countless family dinners later, and she was still hovering the tray in front of you first. the greatest change? that was when she started greeting you at the door with a mio bambino! and kisses to each cheek, the same way she did for melissa and kristin marie.
and this dinner was just the same, except for the extra kiss on the cheek for bringing the ‘good chianti.’ carmine, tony, and vinny left early to catch the end of a soccer game. kristin marie left promptly dessert, as she always did. it was always down to you and melissa, always staying to clean the dishes and kitchen together. giorgia would discuss the latest gossip about people at the church melissa went to as a child.
“oh! melissa you won’t believe this, that girl… qual è il suo nome… the one who used to have that awful nose ring?” giorgia blurts out, then glares at the both of you for giggling at her nose ring comment.
“elena mancini?” melissa answers through a laugh.
“yes, yes, elena. she just got married last week, isn’t that wonderful?” melissa just nods and hums in agreement, letting her mother continue, “they’re leaving for their honeymoon and he apparently won’t tell her where they’re going, è una sorpresa!”
“that’s sweet,” you say as you wipe down the counter.
melissa weighs in, “sounds a little serial killer-y to me. mystery vacation? hell no.” you laugh at her comment, giorgia on the other hand, does not. instead, she turns in her chair to directly face melissa, staring at her intently.
“you don’t get to make fun of other people’s honeymoons until you finally marry this one,” giorgia points a well manicured finger at you, “and go on your own.”
“ma!” melissa rolls her eyes and mutters, “like i’d ever do that again. worked out real well the first time.”
you can hear your heart shatter inside your rib cage at her words. melissa didn’t want to marry you. she’d said so many things over the last five years that made you so sure she wanted forever with you, the same you wanted with her. but apparently, you were wrong. fine.
you decide to not react as much as you can. you place the last of the dishes in the cupboard while melissa and her mother bicker, but you’re hardly listening. it all sounded like white noise, buzzing behind the high pitch heart break you felt.
for the first time, you were glad to be leaving giorgia’s home. you numbly pressed a kiss to her cheek with a ciao, before walking out the door to the car, not waiting for melissa. when melissa had gotten in the car, she grabbed your hand as she always does. she frowns when you don’t immediately bring it to your lips and kiss her knuckles a few times. the car ride home is silent. the only noise is the low volume of the radio and wind passing the car.
you slip your shoes off at the door and hang your jacket before wordlessly walking upstairs. you head to the bathroom to wash your face, hoping the cold water would soothe your pain. walking into the bedroom, you see melissa sitting on the bed with an indifferent look on her face. you just walk to the closet and pull out sleep shorts and a long sleeve, changing facing away from her still.
“tesoro?” melissa breaks the silence. you only hum in response. “are you okay? you’re being very quiet.”
“i’m fine, melissa,” you answer.
she stands up, “bull. you never call me melissa, unless we’re at work. what’s going through your head right now?”
you feel her arms wrap around your middle, her chin sitting on your shoulder. it’s so gentle, so loving. she’s so soft with you, it’s a side of no one else gets or sees. it’s so loving in fact, it makes you realize she didn’t know her words hurt you, that they were dissecting your heart while hers beat steadily against your back.
pulling out from her touch, you turn and look at her now frowning face, “do you even want this?” you gesture between the two of you.
her eyebrows turned upwards, “what do you mean baby?”
“what you said at your mothers,” she looks a little lost, “like you’d ever do that again? cause it worked so well the first time? that’s what you have to say about the very thought of marrying me?”
melissa’s face drops from a concerned frown, to a defensive, stern look. she crosses her arms as she starts, “i didn’t say it was about marrying you.”
your brow tenses, “who else would you marry, melissa? if you’ve had an expiration date of our relationship in mind, you coulda fucking shared it!”
she steps closer to you, “there is no expiration date! all i said was i didn’t want to get god damn married, that’s all!”
you pinch the bridge of your nose, “i’m not demanding marriage! but is the idea of us being married so off putting?”
“you know i love you, you know that,” she needs you to know.
“that’s not an answer, melissa,” your eyes were welling with tears, and it was taking all your strength to not let them fall.
“it wasn’t about marrying you,” she repeats, you can tell she wants to say more, but she doesn’t.
“melissa, your mother was specifically talking about you marrying me,” you’re exasperated at this point. melissa’s face dropped. she ran the conversation with her mother over in her head. giorgia had said until you finally marry this one and pointed straight at your perfect face. and melissa said that.
she watches you walk past her, the second she registers you’ve left the room, she immediately follows. a oversized grey zip up is already covering you, your shorts just barely peaking out the bottom. you’re angrily shoving your feet into your sneakers, not taking the time to tie them. the jingling of your keys masks her heart beating rapidly.
“i love you, melissa. with every cell in my body, down to the last atom. i don’t need a legal document or a big wedding to prove that,” you can nearly look at her, not with the big tears welling in her eyes, “take some time to think about how i might also have thoughts about our relationship, not just you. i’m going to gregory’s, i’ll see you at work tomorrow.”
with that, you’re out the front door and walking to your car. she watches your pull out of your driveway. melissa stands there for a while before moving to on the couch. she stares at the black screen of the tv in hopes she’ll eventually falls asleep.
you arrive at gregory’s apartment building, and sit in the parking lot before texting him that you’re about to come up and you’ll explain later. grabbing your bag of spare work clothes from the trunk, you head in. when the elevator opens, gregory is already there, ready and waiting to give you a tight hug.
barbara howard is a very smart woman. so when she sees your car in the parking lot, and not just melissa’s, she knows something this wrong. in the break room, barbara is greeted by gregory while you stay quiet next to him, stirring your coffee with a blank look on your face. gregory only gives her a small shake of the head, deterring her from asking you about your mood.
your eyes move to the clock above the door, melissa would be here soon. you usually drove and walked in together, hand in hand. with a deep breath, you get up and walk to your classroom to prep in solitude. barbara noticed the time and your actions, and may the good lord have mercy on melissa when she finally gets her hands on her.
except when melissa arrived, she was in a similar state to you, withdrawn and quiet. everyone keeps an extra few inches of distance between them and the red head, nearly sighing in relief when she leaves to her own classroom with fast steps and no goodbye.
when melissa’s kids are off at gym, she stops outside your classroom. she watches you interact with the kids, helping them with the science project posters. you had pieces of tape hanging from your fingers and a frog sticker on your cheek, it made melissa’s heart ache. you’d been so excited to teach the fourth graders about adaptions in animals, practically skipping to the art store for poster board and glitter glue. now your smile wasn’t even reaching your eyes. melissa knew she was to blame.
melissa turns to leave and is immediately greeted with the gregory staring her down in the hall. he mouths talk before backing into janine’s classroom. she was at least glad that gregory wouldn’t spread this information like beads on linoleum, it would already be on the news if were janine.
at lunch, she’s dragged by the elbow by none other than barbara howard. “what did you do?” barbara asks as she shuts the door to her classroom.
“who said i did anything?” melissa says too quickly.
“your face! the fact that your little admirer can’t even look at you! what happened, melissa ann? i want the truth,” business barbara was in session.
melissa sighs and admits defeat, “i fucked up so bad, barb. ma was talking about this chick’s surprise honeymoon, i said it sounded like a death wish and ma told i can’t make fun until the two of us got married and went on our own.”
barbara can already feel what’s coming, “and what did you say, melissa?”
“might’ve said ‘like i’d ever do that again, didn’t work the last time.’ somethin’ like that,” melissa looks at her hands the entire time she speaks, not able to meet barbara’s eyes.
good thing too, because barbara howard was in what can only be known as utter disappointment. she knew melissa wanted nothing more than a life with you, but she also knew why she had restraints. but in the decades she’d known her best friend, barbara had never seen her happier than when she was with you. melissa’s words shocked barbara to the core.
“i know you’re scared and hurt from your marriage with joe, melissa. but do you honestly think that little sweetheart down the hall doesn’t know that either?”
melissa keeps playing with her hands, “no…”
“or that maybe, just maybe, you want that future just as much and that’s what’s scaring you?” barbara asks, despite knowing that’s exactly what’s going on, even if melissa didn’t know it yet.
melissa blinks rapidly as she takes in barbara’s words. marrying you didn’t sound all that bad. the idea of being introduced as your wife made butterflies dance in her stomach. to have matching rings and to see one on your hand, knowing she placed it there with a promise to love you until the last star burned out. she wanted that, she knew that now.
“fuck…” melissa sighs, her hands covering her face with shame. barbara says nothing else, just wraps melissa in a comforting hug.
by the end of the school day, your ability to keep a pleasant facade was deteriorating. you were stone faced while sweeping your classroom in silence, a ridiculous amount of glitter and strips of paper littered the floor. if you’d been wearing your earbuds like you usually do, you wouldn’t have heard footsteps approaching your classroom. but you did, and you knew who it was. your classroom door shut and you turned to melissa.
“can we talk?” she says, unsure.
leaning the broom then yourself again one of the tables, you nod and gesture for her to continue.
“i’m so sorry, tesoro. i shouldn’t have said what i did, i wasn’t thinking of your feelings about it, only my own,” she started, hoping you’d let her in.
you purse your lips, “and your feelings are…?”
she steps towards you, placing shaking hands on your shoulders, “i’m terrified. last time it was so incredibly painful and i’m scared of that happening again,” her hands cup your face, “but i’m not scared that it would happen with you. god, forever with you sounds like heaven.”
your hands come up to her wrists, resting them there, “i don’t want to rush you, melissa. and i don’t need a crazy ass wedding. hell, i’d go to city hall in sweatpants and a grateful dead shirt if that’s what you wanted.”
“what if… what if down the road you realize this was a mistake? that you want someone else?” melissa’s voice is so small it almost hurts.
you grip on her arm tightens slightly, “there’s never been anyone else i’ve wanted as much as you, and there will never be anyone else. you’re it for me schemmenti, capiche?”
your eyes looking into hers, your voice, the grip on her arms, it’s all too much for melissa to handle. she pulls you forward, kissing you with all the love she has in her. your hands drop from her arms to her hips, holding onto her for dear life. when her tongue moves to trace your bottom lip, you reluctantly pull away, realizing you’re still in the school.
“i love you,” melissa says quietly, “and i want nothing more than to marry you.”
melissa watches your face turn into a big, goofy smile. her heart jumps, having barely seen as a raised brow from you all day. your grip on her hips tightens as you pull her a little closer, “yeah?”
she smiles, “yeah. but no sweats in city hall though, and no big, fat wedding that’ll blow our eardrums with the combined power of my family and yours.”
it’s your turn to press a kiss to her lips, quick and sweet. “as long as you’re the one saying ‘i do,’ i couldn’t care less where we are or who’s there,” another kiss to her lips, a bit longer this time.
her thumbs stroke the apples of your cheeks gently. god, she loved you. and by some miracle, you loved her just as much. even when she was bullheaded and stuck in her own head, you loved her so much you wanted to marry her. it had taken this whole ordeal to realize the two of you were married in every way except literally. anniversaries, flowers on random days, split bills, kisses good morning, kisses good night, ‘our house,’ ‘my mel.’ she should’ve seen it earlier, but she saw it now.
as if you can sense her thoughts, you press a kiss to her temple, “let’s go home.”
the night ended with an empty bottle of wine and melissa asleep on top of you on the couch. one of your rings on her left hand and one of her on yours, acting as make shift engagement rings, promising your heart to hers and hers to yours.
as always, feedback is appreciated and i hope y’all liked this. love ya
title comes from the ‘they love me, they love me not’ thing where you pick off flower petals, in case anyone was curious

“With—” You blink slowly as your wife’s words sink in. “With Barbara Howard?!”
“She’s the safest place and you know it. They’ll never think she knows anything because she doesn’t. Hell, she asked me if we were committin’ fraud, Y/N. I only told her the truth; we aren’t and it’s an extra copy of the financials and they were gonna take the originals from the salon. They did, didn’t they?”
“Of course they did, they took everything that wasn’t nailed down. But Barbara? If she finds out the truth, Mel—”
“She won’t.”
“If she does,” You barrel on over your wife speaking. “You and I both know she’ll turn it over to the Feds. And…we’ll probably lose her in both our lives- the girls’ lives… It won’t matter how much she loves you or me or the girls. Barb is all about the right thing no matter what.”
Melissa’s hand runs through her hair, pushing it away from her face. “That won’t happen, alright? We just have to get through this. Eventually they’re gonna realize there’s nothin’ here, and they’re gonna fuck off. Then I’ll take the ledgers back from Babs and everything will go back to normal.”
You sink back into the couch cushions, sighing heavily. You want to believe your wife. You want to think that’s true. Except the amount of pressure from the Feds just the last two days is more than you’ve ever had to deal with. You might have Sammy representing you, who is just as confident as your wife that they won’t find anything at all, except you can’t help but think they will.
Every day this drags on, every bit of extra pressure put on, it’s beginning to wear at you. You grip Mel’s hand lightly, inspecting the newly wrapped injury all over again though you don’t undo your own work. Your thumb lightly strokes her knuckles before bringing the bandaged hand up to your lips in an effort to comfort her and you both. You’ll never give up Mel or your girls. You won’t endanger them.
Still, a part of you wonders if it would be safer for them if you gave up yourself. You could go back down to the station, request Agent Danik and Shaw, return to that godforsaken gray interrogation room and tell them everything. You wouldn’t cop to killing Bobby, because you didn’t, but you could come clean about the salon if it means it would get them away from Mel and your twins…it would be worth it, wouldn’t it?
Melissa’s arms wrap around you as she curls into your side. Her head rests on your shoulder. “You barely got any sleep last night and after today…I won’t say no to a nap. Ma called me to let me know she’s getting the girls…we could rest awhile and head over there for dinner.”
Instantly, thoughts of giving yourself up shift into fighting for yourself instead. With your wife curled against you, and thoughts of dinner with your mother-in-law and your girls. You wouldn’t give up for the world this little life of yours.
You turn your head to kiss Melissa’s hair, gently easing the both of you to lay on your couch as you return her embrace. “Best idea you’ve had our whole marriage.” You tease, already half asleep.
It earns you a light slap to your arm. “Yeah, right. We both know the best idea of our marriage was the girls.”
“Yeah,” You mumble, your fingers lazily carding through red locks. “You’re right.”
“I usually am, amore, I thought you knew that already.”
You can’t even bring yourself to argue or call her over confident. You only smile, warming over with your affection for your wife like it’s the first time all over again. You never get tired of that feeling.
After a nap that perhaps was a bit too long for your liking, you blink your eyes awake to see that wonderful woman you get to call your wife scrolling on her phone as she continues to lay on you.
“How’s your hand feeling, mo ghrá?” you ask her gently as you kiss her temple softly.
“Hurts like a bitch,” Melissa sighs. “But I’ll be okay. You know I always am.”
“I know, I know,” you chuckle lowly. It didn’t happen often, but when she first opened her restaurant, the nicks and cuts to her fingers and knuckles were more frequent because she was always flying around trying to handle everything all at once. The number of times it's happened since she settled into her role and the business took off dwindled, but each time it happened you were always there to wrap her hands and nurse them back to health.
“What time is it?” you ask as you stretch just slightly, but you can’t with her still on top of you.
“5:30,” she replies. “Ma has the girls eating dinner right now I’m sure.”
“I suppose we should go be mothers to our children,” you sigh softly as your hand settles on her forearm and rubs it soothingly.
Melissa puts down her phone, and when you think she’s going to slide off of you, she only curls further into you.
“Ten more minutes,” the woman requests quietly. Her grip tightens on you. “Just ten minutes of the two of us... I don’t know how much longer we have.”
There it is- as much as she tried to convince you that you were going to be fine with your church friend holding onto the books, she’s terrified- terrified of losing you for an uncertain amount of time, maybe forever if things take a turn for the worst and your fate turns out to be the same as Bobby’s.
You oblige her request, pressing yet another soft kiss to her temple before holding her tightly against you. The two of you together silently pray that everything works out in your favor, you’re able to evade the feds over this debacle, and continue on with life. You contemplate how you can get yourself out of the mob, how she can get herself out of the mafia, and you can leave this dark world that you know. Unfortunately you know that the only logistical way out of this all is death- or to fake your deaths. But you still hope and pray that you can find a way out- if only for your daughters. They don’t deserve to grow up with two parents always putting them at risk and then to have to take on your debts once you are no longer walking this earth with them. You want them to have a chance to go to Heaven, because if Heaven and Hell are real and true... you and your wife are almost certainly going to Hell.
Those ten minutes pass by almost silently, aside from your breathing, and then you sigh, “We really should go over to your ma’s and spend some time with the girls.”
“We should,” Melissa smiles softly as she lifts her head from the crook of your neck. She kisses you gently. “Ti amo, mi amore.”
“Tá mé i ngrá leat,” you reply just as softly, mumbled against her lips.
She’s up and off of you a few seconds later, offering you a hand to help you off the couch. The two of you quietly make your way out to the car and drive off in the direction of the matriarch of the family and your girls.
“Mam!” Rosie runs as fast her little legs will take her towards you. You scoop her up in a hug and press a million little kisses to her still chubby cheeks.
“Mommy!” Cat echoes as she runs for Melissa. Your wife crouches down with open arms and is nearly taken to the ground at the force of your oldest twin daughter.
“Gentle, my love,” the redhead says softly as she sweeps your little girl off her feet and props her on her hip- the right hip as opposed to the left that Cat usually sits on.
Ever the observant, the little girl crinkles her nose just slightly in a way that screams Melissa. “Why am I on this side?” she asks.
“Mommy can’t hold both of you for a bit again,” you say softly. “She cut up her fingers again at the restaurant.”
“Silly Mommy,” Rosie chirps from your own hip. She leans over in your hold to press a kiss to Melissa’s cheek while Cat sloppily kisses your own.
“Girls! I told you to say hello to your mothers and then come back to finish your meals!” You can hear Melissa’s mother from the dining room. Both girls make faces that clearly say, ‘Oops!’ before giggling.
You and your wife carry the girls back into the room with all of the food and set them down in their chairs before leaning down to kiss Melissa’s mother’s cheeks before sliding into your own chairs.
“Oi, Lissa,” the older woman groans. “Cut yourself again, did you?”
“It was an accident, Ma!” the redhead groans.
“You need to stop flying around that restaurant of yours,” her mother scolds lightly as she scoops out rather large portions of the ribollita. “Everything will get done in time, and you need to take care of yourself!”
Dinner is loud, as it always is, and then you find yourself holding both of your girls on the couch while Melissa and her mother clean up dinner and prepare to bring dessert into the living room. Both girls chatter on about how their days at school went, and it’s quite hard to keep up with who is saying what, but you do your best to keep their stories straight.
Once you’ve all had your share of dessert, you stand, both girls on your hips. “I think it’s about time we get the girls home and to bed... I promised a story last night, and while I couldn’t keep it yesterday, I’m here tonight.”
Both girls yawn against you as Melissa slings both of their book bags over her shoulder before you all bid her mother a goodnight.
You're tucking the girls securely into their car seats in the back when you hear a shout. “Oi! Youse left your bag, Lissa!”
You glance over your shoulder to see your mother-in-law leaning out the door with your wife's large purse. She's always carried too big of one since the day you met. You glance back to Melissa in the passenger seat. She looks exhausted but is about to open her door to get back out of the car.
“I got it.” You say, stopping her short. You smile at her question if you're sure. You lean between the front seats enough to kiss her. “Anything for you.” You whisper. “You know that.”
You turn and jog back up the sidewalk from the driveway to the front door. Your fingers curling around the handle next to Melissa’s mothers. “Thanks, Ma. You know she'd be lost without her bottomless bag.”
She smiles at you, though her fingers do not release her daughter's bag. She uses the handle to gently tug you closer.
“I'm hearing whispers, Y/N.” She says lowly. “Ya know things ain't good when the gossip starts reaching the old folk like me.”
“You're not old.” You reflexively say. It earns you a smile that mirrors your wife's from the older woman.
“I said it the day you married Lissa. I'll say it again today. Take care of my girl, Y/N. She chose you. Don't turn that into a mistake. You know I hate cleaning up mistakes.”
You answer exactly the same as you did on your wedding day. With a smile and, “Always, Mrs. Schemmenti. Takin’ care of your daughter is the only thing I care about.” You lean forward to kiss both her cheeks in goodbye. “And now your granddaughters.” You add softly before making your way back to the car.
“What’d she say?” Melissa asks as soon as you slip into the driver’s seat. You gently set her bag in her lap.
“Nothin’.” You answer swiftly as you back the car down the driveway and out onto the street.
Melissa scoffs next to you. “Yea. she said somethin’, what was it?” Your wife presses as she reaches for your hand resting on the gear shift.
You tangle your fingers with hers, kissing her knuckles. “Only what she’s said to me since the first time she met me.” You assure softly.
“Take care of my daughter.” Melissa says in time with you repeating her mother’s words. You nod, pressing an extra kiss to her hand before you lower it slightly to simply hold it in your own.
“Y’know she loves you more than anythin’.” You murmur, squeezing her hand lightly.
“Hm.” Melissa hums, her eyes on the street lamps passing as you drive your little family home. “Maybe not more than Mickey. He is the baby of the family and all.”
“How much longer till he’s out? It’s gettin’ close ain’t it?”
“Early next year, I think. I’ll double check next time we go up for a visit. Those damn letters take too long.”
“You’ll make sure you tell him I said hi, huh?”
Melissa rolls her eyes at your request. They slide away from street lamps, to the ceiling of your car, to land on you. “Y’know, I always do. He loves you almost as much as I love you.”
“Uh huh, my backup Schemmenti.” You tease with a smile. Yours and Melissa’s brother’s inside joke. He always said if she was dumb enough to divorce you, he’d propose so you could keep the last name and still come to family dinners.
“Yea, yea, backup Schemmenti that you ain’t ever gonna need.” Melissa mutters. A moment later her hand is pulling away from yours when you slow the car for the red light. Her fingers lightly gripping your jaw to get your head to turn to kiss you properly for a drawn out moment. She pulls away when the light turns green again. “Mickey ain’t ever gettin’ to do that. Not even over my dead body.” She huffs.
“You’re cute when you’re jealous.”
“Shut up and get me home. I’m tired.”
You do end up getting all four of you home in one piece, and for that, Melissa is grateful. She grabs her bag and slings it over her shoulder before carefully removing Rosie from her carseat. You do the same with Cat. If you can get the two of them into bed without them waking up, life will be so much easier.
By some miracle, you do get them into the house and in their rooms without them waking up. You then take your wife’s hand and lead her into the bedroom, only to see that your room is still flipped upside down from when the police had raided.
You groan. You really don’t feel like lifting the heavy safe off your bed and attempting to get it back into the floorboard. You do so though, before crawling into bed yourself. Melissa slides in next to you, turning on her side so that she can get as close to you as possible, resting her head on your chest.
“When do you think this is all going to be over?” she whispers to you.
You look down to see her face being lit by the moonlight and the one street light that flickers outside of the window overtop your bed.
You shrug and kiss her temple. “Níl a fhios agam,” you sigh. “Níl a fhios agam.”
She hates that you don’t know. She hates that she doesn’t know either.
Both of you are usually so in control of everything that happens around you. The last time that you weren’t in control and your worlds were turned upside down is the day that the doctor told you you were carrying twins- and even that level of uncontrollable circumstances stemmed from a choice you had deliberately made.
Melissa remembers the day that she had broken down in tears, consumed by her worry for you. She was absolutely terrified that there would be complications in the pregnancy because carrying multiples was almost always more dangerous than just a single baby. She was absolutely paranoid that somebody from either family would get you caught up in their own business, and that something would happen to you and the two unborn babies inside of you. The next day, she went to Thursday morning mass and prayed with Barbara for your safety and well-being. The day that you had safely delivered those two beautiful girls of yours and all three of you were healthy was a relief to her. But even then, thoughts of fear lingered.
Melissa also remembers the day when your belly had popped, and it made you a hormonal mess to see that you were actually carrying now. You had cried to her your own fears and doubts of your safety, their safety, that you weren’t quite sure if you were ever meant to be a mother. She remembers the way that you had clung to her in a moment of weakness as you choked out that while having children and becoming a mother was all you had ever wanted since you were little, you couldn’t believe that you were bringing two little ones into this cruel world. She recalls holding you that whole day, assuring you that not a hair on your head would be touched, that your unborn children were going to be safe and more loved than any other children, and that you were absolutely going to be the best mam to your babies. Those thoughts never quite dissipated throughout the months of your pregnancy. But once you had laid your eyes on those little girls squirming and crying on your chest, you knew that she was right- that you were all safe, at least for the time being, and Caterina Ann and Rosalina Marie were going to grow up with more love than they knew what to do with.
But this? The feds were on you for something that you had no part in, and if they continue to dig it’s only a matter of time until you get caught as part of the mafia and the mob. There are too many moving pieces for either of you to say with certainty what’s to happen in the future. There is no safety net or light at the end of the tunnel that you can see. These circumstances were absolutely, one-hundred percent, out of your control. And that? That horrifies Melissa.
You hold your wife tightly to your chest, your hand tracing mindless patterns across her spine to provide what comfort you can. Eventually, you hear her breathing even out into deep and slow breaths as she slips off to sleep.
Your own eyes trail over the ceiling of your bedroom. What can you do? You're turning the entirety of the situation over in your mind repeatedly, trying to find the answer. You search for even something little to grasp, to control- even if it's just enough to provide some sense of stability and comfort to your wife. You don't really care if you get any; you'll deal with the fears and worries if it means Melissa is content and happy.
You don't know when you do finally fall asleep. It feels like five minutes is as long as you've slept when you're startling back awake.
“What the fuck?” Melissa is grumbling as she pulls away from your side.
It takes another moment of you blinking sleep from your eyes to process. There's another round of banging at your front door, which must have been what woke you. Your bedroom is still dark, the only light seeping through being the light that radiates off the moon. Miraculously, the banging on the door hasn't woken up the girls, and you thank God for that. If they wake, you truly don’t know what you’d tell them.
It takes a heap of effort but you pull yourself from your bed to trail after your wife. You're just making it to the end of the hall to the living room when she's yanking open the front door in the midst of more knocking.
“Che cazzo fai?” Melissa spits as soon as the door is open. “It's not even five in the fuckin’ mornin’ and I got two kids sleepin’, what's wrong with you? Vai ai cacare!”
“Mrs. Schemmenti.”
You want to groan and bang your head into the wall when you hear Agent Shaw's voice. You're so tired. Somehow Agent Shaw sounds like he's had a full night of perfect rest. You can feel both you and your wife wearing thin. You know it's exactly what they want- to push you to the limit, force a mistake.
You trudge across the floor to stand behind Melissa. By now, your wife has deteriorated to rapid-fire Italian that you know is definitely only anger and insults. Agent Shaw is holding a packet of papers out that she hasn't taken in order to also be speaking with her hands. Usually, you would find her bigger than life and fiery personality and gestures adorable, but now you wish she would just take the papers. You reach past Melissa to take the papers from the agent who has blessed you with a home visit at 4:45 in the morning.
You sigh as you skim read the papers. You want to put your forehead to Melissa's shoulder even if it would jostle you with her gestures. It's a search warrant for her restaurant. You want to but you don't. You don't want Agent Shaw to see you in any more of a weaker state than you’re already showing him, half awake and absolutely exhausted after taking care of your girls. It’s not only a search warrant for Melissa's restaurant, but they're executing on a Friday- one of the busiest days for the business.
You put a hand on Melissa's shoulder in hopes of calming her down, even just slightly. With the amount that she’s cursing and shouting at this man, you’re afraid she’ll either pass out or wake up your girls. Neither option seems like a great one. But she's run out of words to spit at the agent still on your doorstep. The redhead takes a deep breath at the feel of your hand.
“Go,” you say, gathering by now that they need her to let them into the restaurant. “I'll call Sammy and tell him to meet you there. I'll make sure the girls get to school, okay?” you say softly.
Your hand squeezes her shoulder. You make sure you kiss each of her cheeks before you kiss her lips properly. You hope the affection takes her anger down a notch or two, mostly for Agent Shaw's sake, truly.
Reluctantly, Melissa is shoving on shoes and pulling a coat over her outfit from yesterday. You'd both been so tired you hadn't even bothered changing before all but crawling into bed. She grumbles about the fashion faux pas as she stomps down your porch to follow Agent Shaw to the car.
You shut the front door only once you see the black car pull out of your driveway and down the street. Your forehead presses to the wood. “Fuck,” you whisper to no one but yourself. You force yourself to pull away from the front door and lock it once more.
It takes you a minute to track down where you left your phone. You struggle to remember little things of the last couple days. You rub your forehead as you listen to the ringing. Just as it's about to go to voice-mail you hear Sammy's groggy voice answer.
“They're searching Mel’s restaurant,” You sigh in place of pleasantries. “She just left with one of the agents to let them in.”
You don't even get the chance to ask Sammy to meet them there. He's saying he will before he hangs up without saying goodbye. If you were awake you'd have rolled your eyes at him. Except right now, you just appreciate his swift action and hope he can manage your wife and protect her for a few hours until you can get there after you drop the girls off.
You move back down the hall, barely able to lift your feet up from the carpet. You slip into the girls’ room, gently lifting them both from their beds. They don't wake up but curl into each of your shoulders. You carry them back to yours and Melissa's bed, curling up with your little twins like Melissa had the first night you'd been stuck at the station. Except you at least have the blessing of knowledge of where she is and what is wrong. Your eyes are so heavy though, you can't fight sleep even with the worry still filling you.

Lesser-Known BNHA Character Details
A list of things from the light novels, spin-offs, and such that I think more people should know about because they’re fun •w•
For reference on my personal canon hierarchy, with the exception of spoofs (SMASH, I’m looking at you) I consider the main manga and anime the top, and accept everything else that doesn’t contradict the information provided there—for example, I’ll accept Tsuyu’s ghost encounter as canon, but I personally believe she was with a cousin at the time since we know she doesn’t have an older sister.
Yaomomo’s mother is a very sweet person who goes out of her way to make her daughter’s friends feel welcome, adores Jirou, and has been nicknamed Yaomama. She is also a terrible cook and has the critical thinking skills of a sea cucumber (source: light novels, specifically volumes 2 and 3)
There is a pro hero named Odd-Eye who basically embodies Middle Schooler Syndrome. His Quirk is forcing people to reveal their embarrassing secrets (source: Team Up Missions volume 2)
Izuku likes zombie movies, or at the very least has seen enough of them to know their common tropes (source: Training of the Dead OVA)
Aizawa became a teacher out of peer pressure, mostly from Midnight (source: Vigilantes)
Izuku becomes a “bloodthirsty quiz demon” during trivia games. Most people are terrified by this, but Eri thinks it’s cool (source: light novels volume 4)
The large scar on Izuku’s right arm is from Dabi, not Muscular. When the boys land in the clearing, Dabi’s fire is seen brushing his arm exactly where he later has the scar (source: main story, training camp arc)
Kendo doesn’t feel fully comfortable being called a woman, noting that the word feels like “a burden” and she prefers to be defined on her own terms (source: light novels volume 4)
Rody’s younger siblings are baby weebs (source: Team Up Missions volume 3)
After the events of Two Heroes, the Shields are no longer living on I-Island, which is likely why Melissa is able to travel freely (source: Team Up Missions volume 1)
Shouto’s listed blood type of O is impossible, as Endeavor’s blood type is listed as AB. My best explanation for this is that Shouto has a mutation that results in his blood genotype being A and phenotype being O, meaning his actual blood type is A (source: Ultra Analysis and my 10th-grade biology class)
Hagakure knows how to make booby traps, and likely does so regularly (source: Team Up Missions volume 2)
Shinsou can read lips (source: Team Up Missions volume 3)
Kouda can’t actually understand animals, only control them (source: light novels volume 3)
Shouto spent a good part of move-in day running around campus helping Hatsume. Recovery Girl gave him the tatami mats, which he specifically wanted because he didn’t like how the floor felt on his feet (source: light novels volume 3)
Hagakure and Tsunotori liked the same anime as kids (source: light novels volume 3)
If Ochako could have any of the boys’ Quirks, she would want Bakugo’s, specifically so she could go wild in a fight (source: light novels volume 2)
Bakugo has never gotten Valentine’s chocolate (source: light novels volume 6)
Shouto has stated he’s “not looking for that kind of action” while in conversation with the grape, which to me implies that he’s not interested in girls (source: light novels volume 6)
Aizawa is supposed to tell Mic if he’s going drinking (source: light novels volume 3)
There’s plenty more of these, but I’m out of time for now! Let me know if you want a part 2 •w•

Abbott Elementary quickly became your safe haven. After landing a job as a third grade teacher, you’ve gone from just another face to part of the family. Particularly, with Melissa Schemmenti. Your job opening was actually because of Melissa. Her meshed second and third grade classes proved to be too much for even Melissa and an aid, and somehow the driven teacher found money through the district to hire you.
Both you and Melissa felt indebted to each other, her basically giving you the job, and you saving her from the worst year of teaching yet. At least, that’s what the two of you kept telling yourselves. I’m just returning the favor.
That’s why Melissa offered to show you how to cook, why you invited her over to show her some cult classic movies, why the two of you became…close, to say the least. Even though the two of you shared some intimate moments, you never shared many intimate details. It wasn’t until your partner of three years started coming to your work that you realized you had never shared that part of your life with Melissa.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to tell Melissa more about your life, you wanted to badly. But, you were afraid. The relationship between you and your partner was less than, in your eyes. Of course at the beginning it was all roses and smiles and kisses and whispers, but slowly the facade dropped, and you slowly began to meet the person you had dedicated way too much of your personal life to.
You knew the only reason Heather, your girlfriend, was coming by to work was because she didn’t have enough control. She noticed how much happier you were, how you were thriving. And since it wasn’t coming from Heather herself, she needed that to change.
The first time she came by, it was unannounced. You sat in the break room, in your usual spot a little too close to Melissa, the two of you working on a crossword together. Your thoughts of the clues were interrupted by a familiar voice that made your blood run cold. “Hey baby, happy to see me?” Heather announced herself to the room. You blinked a few times to ensure you weren’t dreaming, missing Melissa throw Heather the nastiest glare she could.
“Oh my god, what are you doing here?” You asked Heather with a small smile, although you were secretly worried about her true intentions. She decided to make herself comfortable and pull up a chair next to you. Everyone else in the break room simply stared, worried for the girl who was unknowingly digging a deeper and deeper hole with the Italian teacher sitting a foot away from her.
“I missed you, wanted to bring you lunch. You didn’t eat breakfast this morning, or grab the coffee I made you. I woke up early for that, y’know,” she said to you, plopping the bag of food in front of you. To an outsider, it might’ve seemed like light teasing between a comfortable couple. But you knew that tone. The tone that meant she was going to bring this up later, start a fight, and then make it up to you before you could change your mind about finally leaving.
You muttered a quiet “thanks,” and took the food in your hand. “Why don’t I show you my classroom?” Before Heather could respond, you were out of your seat and guiding the two of you to the door.
“Who was that?” Barbara asked the room, although she gave pointed eyes to Melissa, knowing the two of you had grown close rather quickly. Melissa on the other hand, was angrily staring at the crossword in front of her. How dare this stranger come and interrupt the time she treasured with you, taking you away and-
Then she remembered the pet name, the mention of breakfast and coffee, and the dots connected. You had a girlfriend. A girlfriend Melissa knew absolutely nothing about. She didn’t even know you liked women. Sure, she had her suspicions, after all you weren’t very subtle about it. But you never opened up to Melissa about it, the loving of women or the girl you had already loved, and that made Melissa’s heart shatter more than she felt she could physically handle.
The redhead abruptly stood up from her seat and started gathering her things. She could not be around others right now, not in this emotional state. Melissa knew she had a crush on you, she just didn’t think it was this bad. To the point of making the usual hard-shelled woman fall to pieces at the sight of you with somebody else. In her haste exit, Melissa missed the many friends she had calling out to her, she couldn’t hear anything other than the thousands of thoughts in her head.
“Fuck,” Melissa muttered to herself, leaning against the wall in the hallway. She covered her face in her hands, hoping it would stop the tears from leaving her green eyes. She did her best to quickly pull herself together before anyone saw, and made the walk back to her classroom. Of course, she had to pass your room to get to her own. The sight of your classroom door made Melissa’s stomach turn. Usually it was because of butterflies, and now dread. She felt sick.
As she got closer, she could hear voices coming from inside. Melissa stood still for a moment, debating whether or not she truly wanted to know what was being said in there. Against her brain telling her to do otherwise, Melissa creeped towards your door, trying her best to listen for conversation.
“I make you coffee and you don’t drink it, I bring you lunch and you don’t eat it, what the fuck is your problem? Do you have no appreciation for those around you? Are you that fucked up?” The voice from earlier could be heard through the door. Melissa was shocked, angry, jealous, all rolled up into one storm. Which would explain why she swung open your door before she could tell herself no.
“Who are you? We’re having a conversation.” Heather spat at Melissa immediately. Before answering, Melissa glanced towards you. She had never seen you in such a fragile state. Sitting in your desk chair, in the dark, with so much fear in your eyes somebody might think your life was being threatened. “It’s a need to know basis kid, and you don’t need to know. Could I steal my friend for a minute?” Melissa asked, even though she was already taking your hand in hers and walking out the door with you.
She didn’t stop once she left your classroom either, not until she made it to the steps outside of the building. Melissa looked into your eyes for something, anything at this point. But you just sighed and looked away. “Please don’t yell at me, Mel,” you said quietly. You were ready for your friend to tear you apart for hiding your girlfriend and for letting her speak to you that way. “Yell at you? Honey…” Melissa said. She pulled you back close to her and wrapped her arms tightly around your body.
Quietly, you cried into her. You couldn’t help it, Melissa made you feel safe, and that wasn’t a luxury you could frequently afford. “She just…” You started, trying to explain everything to the woman who was trying to take care of you. “I can’t do it anymore Melissa. I’m sorry I never told you about her, or the fact I like women. It’s not that I didn’t want to, please don’t think that I just–” You stopped, lifting your head from Melissa’s shoulder to finally meet her gaze again. “I didn’t want you to see how small she makes me feel. I know I shouldn’t be with her, I just don’t know anything else. Not unless I’m with you but, I don’t know. I don’t know anything anymore,” you finally finished with a heavy sigh.
Melissa took a moment to respond, gently rubbing your back and taking a second to absorb everything you had just told her and everything she heard. “I know its easier said than done, but you and I both know you deserve better than that crazy ass bitch back in that classroom,” She gestured with her head to the door. You noticed the venom in her voice as she referred to your girlfriend once again, and if her eyes weren't the most beautiful shade of green, they would be red with anger. “I don’t know Mel…” you trailed off.
She scoffed, tightening her grip around your waist, and you tried your best to ignore the warmth growing in your chest. “Well I know. I know you should be with somebody who actually cares about you, who notices all the stupid cute habits you do all day and loves them, you deserve somebody who will give you that,” Melissa said honestly, more honest than she would have liked to be. You couldn't help the smile that formed on your face, touched by the woman’s words. “Maybe I’ll find them one day,” You said, starting to walk back inside with Melissa. “But I don’t think I’ll find anybody who loves me quite like you do Mel.” Melissa’s heart jumped at that. “I don’t think you will either, sweetheart.”
———
The weeks following that first incident were strange to say the least. The air between you and Melissa became tense, like both of you had something to say but just couldn’t. Or rather, wouldn’t. The few times Heather popped by again, Melissa would always leave without a word. No goodbye to you or the others, and you quickly learned that for whatever reason, she had a hard time coming back to life after seeing Heather. You blamed it on her protective nature, simple explanation.
It wasn't until Heather had actually stopped coming around that Melissa spoke of the girlfriend without being prompted. The two of you sat alone in her classroom, grading papers before the weekend. “So, are things going any better with…y’know? Haven't seen her around much,” Melissa said without looking up from her papers. “Actually, she moved out. Last weekend. I was going to tell you I just, needed time, I guess,” You answered, looking up at Melissa, trying to read her mind through her eyes.
At first, they lit up, before Melissa could pull herself back together. “Well its about time you kicked her sorry ass to the curb. Nobody treats cuore mia like that,” She said, watching in real time how you melted at her words. “I- What?” you giggled out of confusion. Melissa returned to her gaze to her papers and quietly said, “my heart.” Your cheeks grew hot and you found your breath quickening, both at Melissa calling you such a sweet name, and the Italian she spoke it in. It was this moment that the puzzle pieces started fitting together in your head. Why Melissa was so angry and upset with Heather, and why you always preferred Melissa’s company anyways. The two of you were practically in love.
“If you want to call me pet names, at least do it in English so I know what you’re saying,” You lied to her. You couldn’t have her speaking in Italian to you, but not because it bothered you. In fact it had quite the opposite effect. “What, you don’t like when I speak Italian? Besides, you’ll learn soon enough dolcezza mia,” Melissa cooed, leaning over the edge of her desk to get closer to your face. If you could, you would kiss her right then and there.
So you did. Before you could talk yourself out of it, you cupped Melissa’s cheek and pulled her lips onto yours. Both of you were surprised at the sudden move, but neither pulled away. It was gentle, Melissa stroked the back of your head as she pulled you into her as well. She ran her fingers through your hair and used her position to lightly pull you away from her. “I’m sorry.” You both said at the same time before giggling like children. “Why are you sorry?” Melissa asked. “For kissing you, without asking. Why are you sorry?” You simultaneously answered and questioned her. “For kissing you back, I don’t want to take advantage of you,” Melissa said quietly, suddenly deflating.
You took her hand in yours, gently rubbing her knuckles with your thumb. “Melissa, you’re a very intelligent woman, but you’re acting like an idiot,” You laughed as Melissa furrowed her brows at you. “I kissed you, Mel. I wanted to kiss you I want to kiss you all the time, I didn’t realize until after you started helping me with…you know who,” Both of you grimaced at the mention of your ex. “Everything she should’ve been making me feel, is how you make me feel every day. And I’m sorry it took me so long to realize that,” You told Melissa truthfully. The grip on your hand tightened as she took in your words. “God, come here you,” Melissa said as she smiled, and tugged on your hand for another kiss.

Not Quite A Walk In The Park
The asks in my inbox are coming, I swear! A few of them have just tottered off plan like unruly toddlers for the moment...and while working on wrangling them back on track, I got a little distracted and couldn't quite leave this one alone. Can be read as a stand alone, but in my head it follows on the day after I Only Have Eyes For You
~*~
You’re rarely on time for anything, never mind early, but here you are waiting for Melissa at your agreed meeting spot twenty minutes ahead of time.  You’re a walking cliché of a girl in love but you can’t bring yourself to care.  This is your second date with Melissa Schemmenti, the woman you’ve been pining after for months, so you figure you’re allowed to be a little excited.
As familiar red hair catches the sun, you can’t help but smile.  As she approaches, you take advantage of the fact that you’re now allowed to look without care of being caught.  You want her to know you find her stunning.
“Hey you!” you grin as she draws level with you, leaning in to press a kiss to her cheek.
“Hey,” she mumbles in reply, her cheeks blushing prettily.
Offering her an arm, you nod in the direction of the café.  “Shall we?”
She looks at you for a moment before linking her arm with yours.  You think perhaps it’s just that you’re not used to walking so closely with her, but she feels stiff next to you.  The further you walk, however, the more concerned you become when not only are her steps stilted, but her words.
Passing a bench, you bring you both to a halt, sitting and bringing her with you thanks to your linked arms.  You stare at her intently, but she keeps her eyes firmly on her feet.  “Okay, I’m not usually one for confrontation but what the hell is going on?  Last night you were all ‘I don’t want you to leave’ and today you can barely look at me.”
“I had the night to think.”
So few words and yet they knock the breath from you.  It takes you a few attempts to get any words to leave your mouth, despair and anger fighting to be heard first.  “So what?  You regret last night already?”
She shakes her head, letting out a sigh, looking small and defeated.  “No.  No, that’s not it.  I just don’t wanna make you have regrets.”
You frown, not understanding.  “What?”
She extricates her arm from yours, wringing her fingers together in her lap.  “I never thought I had a shot with you.  I’m literally old enough to be your mom and you’re going to want things I can’t give you.  You should be out living your life, not walking an old geriatric like me around the park on a Sunday.”
Oh.  That you weren’t expecting.  You’re so used to Melissa being her bold, beautiful self that this flash of insecurity takes you quite by surprise.  You had hoped you had made it clear the evening before that when you looked at her you saw her exactly as she was and saw exactly what you wanted.  “What things?” you ask, finally.
“What about kids?” she mumbles.
“What about kids?” you repeat incredulously.  “I kiss you once and I want kids?  I’ve never wanted kids.”
Her eyes fly up to meet yours.  “What?  But you’re-“
“So good with them?” you cut her off.  “You have no idea how many times I’ve heard that.  I love what I do in teaching, but I don’t want kids of my own, Melissa.  I never have.  Is this really what you were so hung up on?”
“It’s a big thing,” she replies defensively.
You nod.  “It is, yeah.  Do you…is that a deal breaker for you?” you ask hesitantly, half terrified to hear her answer.
She shakes her head, her hair falling across her shoulder to hide her face.  “Joe…he made me think I did.  That being a ‘proper’ family was what we needed.”  She pauses, and a long moment passes before she speaks again.  “It ended up in a miscarriage.”  She lets out a shuddering breath.  “In a way it was the best thing that could have happened, what with the way things turned out.”
Your heart breaks for the woman sitting next to you, and you reach out, covering her trembling hands with her own.  “I’m so sorry that happened to you.”
“I survived,” she says with a shrug of false bravado.
“You’re amazing, you know that?” you say quietly, reaching to tuck her hair back over her shoulder so you can see her face.  Her lip trembles and her eyes are glassy with unshed tears.
She lets out a wet laugh.  “You know flattery won’t get you any further than it already has, right?”
You smile back at her, please she feels she can tease you again.  “I’m not saying it to get anything.  I mean it.  I think you’re amazing, Melissa.”
She sniffs, wiping at her eyes.  “I just don’t wanna hold you back from the life you should be living.  You’re young and-“
You’ve tried words.  This time you cut her off with a kiss.  Pulling back, you lean your forehead against hers.  “I never thought I had a shot with you either, Melissa, but now I do, I don’t want it all to go to hell because we’re on different pages in different books.  How about next time you invent some weird life I’m apparently missing out on you run it by me, huh?  Because from where I’m sitting, I hit the jackpot.”
She blushes.  “I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to ruin today.  I just got all up in my head.”
You nod, pulling back so you can look at her.  “I know this is all new and scary, but please believe me when I say I want to be here, with you.  It’s all I’ve wanted for months.  Just ask Ava,” you laugh, only to quickly think the better of your words.  The woman knows too much.  Has heard you drunkenly confess your love for the red head.  “In fact no, don’t ask Ava.  Definitely don’t ask Ava!”
Melissa raises an eyebrow, intrigued at your sudden outburst.
You stand from the bench, offering your hand.  “Lunch?”
“Don’t think I don’t see you changing the subject,” smirks the red head.  “I think I might quite like to hear what Ava has to say.”  She reaches out, taking your hand, but doesn’t move.  “You really wanna do this?”
You take a step forward, dropping her hand in favour of cupping her cheeks, your thumbs stroking over prominent cheek bones.  “I told you before, I’m not playing games here, Melissa. I want this.  I want you.”
Those brilliant green eyes look up at you for a long time.  You do your best not to flinch under the scrutiny, hoping she sees whatever she needs to see in your face.  Finally, a smile begins to tug at the corners of her lips.  “I want this too.”
You lean down to press a gentle kiss to her lips, lingering over the contact.  “Good, because I skipped breakfast for this.  I’m starving.  Sit still much longer and I’ll eat you!”

Round 1 of preliminaries, group 5
Tumblr media
The first two places get a place on the bracket
Little reminder: there will be 2 more rounds of preliminaries, the losing blorbos of this poll still have 2 chances of getting in the official bracket
Propaganda under the cut
Melissa Chase (Milo Murphy’s Law)
"Her self worth is entirely based on her grade point average and getting straight As. She can’t remember anything, ever (specific examples include forgetting her maths book regularly, her student pass for the subway, and how many days are in February). However, she CAN remember the blood type of every president. She is terrible at throwing She gets visually upset when she realises that a plan was changed last minute, and that an academic event she expected to do well in was combined with a sporting event, giving no time to prepare for the new event She freaks OUT when she thinks she’s going to disappoint her headteacher- she doesn’t seem to expect to be given any actual punishment, just that the headteacher will be disappointed and think that she’s irresponsible She has a whole conspiracy room in her house dedicated to researching her best friend’s medical condition- Murphy’s Law being an interest that she is clearly very passionate about and interested in. she does all of that and still can’t remember her maths book. relatable queen her ambition in life is to be a “journalist, and queen of the universe” "
Candace Flynn (Phineas and Ferb)
"A ball of stress and anxiety. She's always angry because nobody listens to her, cares about her feelings, or believes her about anything, which tbh is like the quintessential teenage girl experience. Secretly just wants her parents to recognise and appreciate her."
V-Flower (Vocaloid)
"they believe that people only care about them when they are in pain"
Ciaphas Cain (Warhammer 40k)
"Don't let the sharp jawline and the mutton-chops fool you: Ciaphas Cain has no idea what he's fucking doing and would very much like to not be here right now. He is a high-ranking Commissar, essentially a walking morale boost for Imperial Guard soldiers and one of the only symbols of hope in the grimdark Warhammer 40k universe. He also has no idea how he got the job or how to get the hell out. Commissar Cain spends all his time accidentally doing magnificent bastard things while trying to run away from danger and dying inside. Over the course of his books, he's named Hero of the Imperium, has a hot mommy inquisitor fall in love with him, and saves hundreds of planets per panic attack he has. His cowardice and impostor syndrome are second only to my own, and that's why he's just like me fr."
Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson series)
"he's got big no thoughts head empty energy! he loves his friends and girlfriends SO much (more most YA characters, i think; he would have no qualms about sacrificing the world to save the people he loves, which goes against the typical hero). he is almost always ready to fight a bitch. he has adhd and accidentally says things he shouldnt all the time (but this has made him good at problem-solving, bc he creates a LOT of problems for himself)"
MK (Lego Monkie Kid)
"Oooooh boy where do I begin. MK the Monkie Kid is the protagonist of the story but he has *so many issues*. He wants to be a good person but has a whole lot of impostor syndrome and is convinced he will only hurt people the more he tries to save them. He is convinced that every major villain in the show is his fault, even as far as misremembering/changing up some events to put blame onto himself He also has an absent mentor figure that was supposed to help him but guess what he had to figure out all his powers on his own so abandonment issues go brrrr. He has so much anger toward his mentor Wukong but he just *bottles it all up* (common theme) Also he is so trans and adhd coded. First, MK is a nickname. We don’t know his real name, but it is v much implied he used to go by something else. He and his friends also puts a lot of emphasis on manly stuff like ‘I’m a big boy!’/‘he’s a Monkie *Man*!!!’/‘im the smartie boy, the plan man!’ He also has trouble focusing and listening to other people, is sometimes blunt and he is VERY interested in Sun Wukong and the journey to the west (Chinese classical novel that the show is based on) and just in general always needs constant reassurance and support from his friends. He is often compartmentalizing his feelings and internalizes a lot of fear and blame is also suppressing a part of himself that scares him. (Which, same) He loves his friends so much and tries so hard to keep them all safe, even hiding his own problems and worries from them as an attempt to protect them. He wants to go back to season 1, back when each episode was a villain-of-the-week kinda story, with no world-destroying threats. But nope, he saw the horrors, and he can never go back to the bubbly Monkie Kid from the beginning. Also he is terrified of spiders :>"

Hey, I like you! -tells you about all of my personal Melissa headcanons-
I love Melissa with all my heart, she's my favorite background character ever. However (to me personally, don't come at me with the black dagger), I don't count "Hey Melissa!" canon in my personal universe. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a murderous woman with a blazer, but I don't like the idea of Melissa being a murderer in EVERY universe 😭 breaks my heart. SO. HERE ARE ALL OF MY MELISSA HEADCANONS!
Name: Melissa Riley-Faith
Pronouns: She/Her
Gender: Cisgender female
Sexuality: Unlabeled
Mental illness: Depression
Family: Shitty mom she doesn't talk to named Alison, and her cat Cassie
Height: 5'6
Age: 31
- Melissa loves doing photography, mostly of nature
- She's been best friends with Charlotte for 15 long years, because I refuse to think they aren't close friends
- She has a lot of candles. I can just see it-
- Melissa doesn't drive, so she walks to work with Charlotte. Even when she's not going to work, she mostly walks everywhere. She loves going for walks
- Passive Aggressive Mel my beloved
- As a little nod to "Hey Melissa!", She makes a lot of dark jokes, just has a dark sense of humor
- She isn't exactly a light weight, but don't give her too much to drink either unless you wanna deal with either a very emotional Melissa or a very energetic Melissa
- She has two different colored eyes, mostly because when I first saw her I couldn't tell if her eyes were green or brown. SO SHE HAS BOTH (you can see it in my artwork actually)
- 100% listens to Lady Gaga, prove me wrong I dare you
(TW for the next few HCs, talking about depression, abuse, and self harm)
- Melissa has self harm scars from her past, and she isn't afraid to show them off
- Her father died when she was 14, and because of this she was mentally abused by her mother. She moved out when she was almost 20 years old, and hasn't really spoken with her mom since
- Melissa tends to go through depressive episodes, having times where she can't even get out of bed. Charlotte has known about this for a long time, and is always looking out for her
- She used to be friends with Sam, but after seeing how he treats Charlotte, she despises him
- Call me crazy for this, but I can see her and Mr. Davidson having a father daughter relationship. It's the same with Bill and Mel, but it's more commonly seen with Mr. Davidson
- She used to have a crush on Paul (much like in canon), but when she learned that he loved Emma, she eventually lost feelings, and now they're all friends
- Melissa, Emma, Charlotte, Piper (OC), Alexa (OC),Harper (OC), and Sawyer (OC) are all a girl group because it's funny to me and my bestie
- She doesn't have a strong opinion on coffee, but she normally has a lot of milk in it
- While she isn't BIG on musicals, one of her favorites is RENT
- Melissa is pretty expressive, like if you tell her the most out of pocket shit you can tell she's shocked
- She loves talking to her cat, Cassie, as if she were an actual person. She does this with all of Charlotte's cats too (Charlotte has cats. If you disagree, fight me [I'm kidding please don't.])
- She has a lot of videos saved on her phone, and most of them is just chaos happening around the office
- While we don't see her on screen long enough to see how she got infected in TGWDLM, I do have an idea: She was originally going to escape with Charlotte, Bill, and Ted, but she was found by Mr. Davidson before she could get away
- Shocked I haven't mentioned this one, but she has an upsidedown heart shaped birthmark on her thigh
- Melissa is 100% ambidextrous, and I refuse to think otherwise
