1987/2003 TMNT Crossover Bit

@brightlotusmoon Need to work on this again some more…here’s some pieces of a crossover I started a while ago and really wanna get started on again. Incomplete as of now and fractured but thought I’d share it.

2003 Universe

The running across rooftops in pursuit was something Mikey had done dozens upon dozens of times. However, something was off. The smoke from that smoke bomb maybe? It had smelled odd, different from what the Foot normally threw but his brothers had been on the other side of the roof when they threw it. They hadn’t smelled any thing so he couldn’t exactly ask them… Mike’s knees trembled a bit as they landed on the next roof and his vision was starting to become woozy, shifting back and forth, like he was crying but he sure wasn’t. All the same, it was getting impossible to see straight. His muscles started to feel like jelly. This was wrong, this was wrong… He could barely make out the red coloring in the brother in front of him and called, “Raph…” He caught a faint shift as his brother turned but his vision was already seeping into black oblivion by that point. He didn’t even hear Raph scream his name and hitting the rooftop in a dead fall was beyond his senses. “Mikey!!” Leo and Donnie had abandoned their pursuit as soon as they heard Raph’s cry and by the time they reached the strongest of them, he was knelt on the ground, his youngest brother cradled in his arms. Mike was pale, much paler green than he usually was and his body flopped like a rag doll’s when Raphael shook him, “Mikey! Mikey! This ain’t funny! Wake up, knucklehead!” Nothing, not a laugh, not a chuckle, no change at all. Donnie knelt, looking their sibling over with critical eyes. He took hold of the younger’s wrist and his heart raced. “His pulse is slow. It shouldn’t be this slow. This is like…just woke up in the morning slow…” Leo frowned, reached out and gave a firm rub to the center of their sibling’s chest, right over the sternum. Nothing. The dead silence that passed over the three siblings could have froze water. A sternum rub was not something you could fake. If you were conscious, it was extremely painful and Leo was very particular about making it hard and firm. If Mikey didn’t respond, it was because he couldn’t. “Donnie?” Leo asked simply. “Insufficient data, Boss.” the purple banded brother replied. “Raph can you carry him? I need to get him home…” The tallest of them had already stood, his youngest brother cradled against his chest. His arms draped, dead and Raph was having to support his head. He looked…dead. No, not dead. Don’t think that… “Way ahead of you, Brainac” was all Raph said before jumping off the roof for the ground.

You don’t have Dokku plants here?’ Donnie blinked once then twice at the dimensional twin of his youngest sibling, “I’ve heard of a lot of different plants,” he admitted, still not taking his eyes off his youngest brother, lying dead still (no, not dead, use another word, Donnie!) on the cot in his lab. The entire group had somehow crammed into the small space and Michelangelo and Leonardo were looking over his still sibling. “But not that one.” “Not surprised.” Donatello tried to reassure him. He pointed to the computer screen where he had been hacking into every database possible. “It doesn’t look like it exists.” Raph snapped “What the shell is a Dokku plant?” Leonardo looked up, “It’s a rare plant even in our world. Only exists in the Eastern Hemisphere now.” Michelangelo spoke up “It’s the pollen that’s lethal Dudes. And your Mike totally got a huge whiff of it.” Raphael locked eyes with his bigger self “How long ago did your Mikey conk out?” Raph narrowed his eyes “Why?” Michelangelo snapped “Do you not understand the word ‘lethal’ Dude?!” He stood up and addressed his alternate dimensional family “This stuff KILLS! It’s poison. It slows and then stops the heart by keeping the mitochondria in the heart cells from firing. And if your bro hasn’t succumbed yet then he still has time and we needa know how much! So, think you could jump off your high horse long enough to help?!” The entire room went dead silent. Leonardo reached out and lay a hand on his brother’s shoulder “Michelangelo…” “No, I’m fine, Leonardo,” he replied, shrugging his leader’s hand off. “I know our world’s are mondo different but poison is STILL poison and poison KILLS. I KNEW something was totally off and I didn’t drag us here to watch Other-Me die.” Raph had paled, went quiet “I…I thought that your world…” he trailed off. What could he say? He thought there was no danger in their world? No threat? No death? No way to say that without sounding insulting. This other Michelangelo’s sharp passion had silenced his tongue. Leonardo responded, “In our world, poison is still poison.” He lay a wet cloth on the unconscious Mikey’s forehead. Raphael added, folding his arms “And death is still death.” Leo, who had been quiet for a long time, finally spoke, “We brought him home about two hours ago. It took us…maybe a half hour to get home, Donnie?” The genius nodded “Something like that.” He felt useless… Michelangelo eyed Leonardo “So…what? 10 hours, maybe?” Leonardo nodded, his eyes focused “Donatello, can you you reconfigure that portal to take us to Japan?” Donatello gave a half smile “Do turtles have shells?” He took out his wrench and quickly approached the small portal stick laying on the table. Leonardo turned to his other self “Just like there’s Dokku plants in our world, there’s also the counteragent, the Gazi leaves. If it’s been 2 hours since your brother collapsed, we have ten hours to get ahold of the cure and administer it.” Raph blinked, surprised “You’re gonna help us?” Michelangelo stood, his eyes narrowed “Of course. What kinda question is that?” He gave a faint smile to the stronger turtle, “We’re not gonna let your Mikey die Dude.” Leo smiled faintly “Your optimism is encouraging…” “Not optimism,” Michelangelo corrected “A promise.” Donnie watched his counterpart work and he worked quickly before kneeling next to his ill brother “You hear that, Mikey? You’re gonna be okay. Bi…Big brothers are gonna get you the medicine you need and you’re going to be fine.” He lay a small kiss to his sibling’s hot forehead “So you don’t stop fighting on me…

Headcanon #8

Leo is great at languages.

He knows Spanish in canon, all the turtles (and April too) probably know Japanese. They're all definitely fluent in ASL (Turtle Edition(TM))

I also think that the turtles have their own sign language (TSL) that is more similar to charades, they don't have signs that mean certain letters, but they have signs that mean certain things.

Anyway, Leo knows all of those, plus Latin, Japanese Sign Language, most Sign Languages used in Spanish-speaking countries, Swedish, French, Russian, Greek, Mandarin, Italian, Polish, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, Dutch, Norwegian, Indonesian, etc.

The funniest part? None of the others know he knows those languages.

It's not even that he's hiding it, they just didn't realize. At least, not for the first few years.

Once we get to canon, they start to realize he speaks Spanish.

Then they slowly start to find out he knows more.

Mikey learns Leo speaks Latin when he translates a mystic recipe for him.

Raph learns Leo speaks French when he helps him find some really nice fabric in France (They portaled there).

Donnie learns Leo speaks Norwegian when they end up stuck in Norway (Draxum got Rat-Flu and sent them there in delirium when Leo didn't have his swords) and Leo manages to get them a ride home.

April learns Leo speaks Korean when she's in her room with music on full volume and an upbeat K-Pop song starts playing. Leo comes for a surprise visit, but full on freezes when he hears the music. April asks if he's okay, but he then hugs April and starts telling her that if she needs help she has all of them, and talking about mental health (cough-hypocrite-cough). April stops him and asks him what he's talking about. April learns the song she was listening to was about suicide.

They all learn just how many languages Leo speaks when they're in the Hidden City and a Yokai calls April a slur. Leo starts yelling at the Yokai in every language he knows. At first they think he's just yelling gibberish, until Donnie pulls up a translator and it turns out Leo was speaking over 27 languages in rapid-fire.

The Glass Pawn Update + (another) Ch. 10 Sneak Peek

Managed to crank out 7,000 words the last two days, and I’m now starting on the final chapter!!

This fic might actually end up with 13 chapters now lol with the last three being on the shorter side between 4-6k words. I wanna finish this last chapter first to solidify how I want to split up the pacing before I officially update the total count, but it’ll probably end up being 13 because editing 8k chapters is tedious af, and Ch 10 is already well over 8k ,:D

All at once, half a dozen chains blazed to life around Mikey. They rocketed away from him in a starburst of orange, and the ends wrapped around whatever they came into contact with first: a tree, a bench, a park railing, a light post. As quickly as they came into existence, the chains fell perfectly still, and so did the rest of the clearing. Though no call had been made, a silent ceasefire seemed to travel through the ranks of the EPF. At the center of it all, Mikey took hold of the chains. Clark saw the small turtle’s chest rise and fall in a deep breath. Then he yanked, and the chains clinked, going taut. At first, nothing happened. Clark heard the agents and soldiers across the clearing begin muttering. However, their voices were soon swallowed by a visceral groaning, cracking, tearing rrrrRRIIIIIP!

I want to make angst for 1987 Mikey fanfic wise but I can't think of any good moments in the show that would work other than Maybe the ep were he has to seduce a plant into liking him which makes him uncomfy. Do you have any suggestions from the show I could use that you remember?

What about the episode "What's Michelangelo Good For?"? It's literally an episode that focuses on his usefulness to the team.

Ages ago, a friend here and I collaborated on a bunch of fun 1987 mini fics on Tumblr, and you can find them if you look for tags like "empath Mikey" and Mikey is a bamf" and the 1987 tag. I can see about just finding them all in a collection.

What with our creepy new anon stalker sending death threats over how we explore canon moments like the Lead Pipe Incident, the Grudge Match teasing, etc etc, I'm going to be slightly cautious about this. Other authors don't need the grief.

Headcanon #7

Leo is a master thief.

As tots, the turtles would 'train' for hero-ing by making one of them be a 'robber' and the others be 'guards' guarding a 'gem' (One of their toys).

Leo was banned from being the 'robber' because he was too good st stealing.

After he got his portaling powers Leo would portal around the world and steal expensive art from museums for a day before putting it back, without using his portals. He did this for fun. He wouldn't steal anything in the US because he didn't want his family to find out he did this.

One day after Mikey ranted about how "There's so much art everybody will never see because thieves stole it!" Leo decided to start stealing back stolen art and returning it to museums. Later Mikey was exitedly talking about the "Mysterious Reverse Art Thief".

After the invasion, the family made it their mission to hunt down any mystic relics that could be dangerous. They found out that Big Mama had something incredibly dangerous that was in a mystic blocking building.

Everyone was trying to figure out how they were going to get it when Leo just went "I've got this" and portaled away.

Everybody freaked out thinking he was going to make some self-sacrificing deal with Big Mama, Donnie pulled up the feed for the camera he hid on Leo and hacked the security cameras.

They all watched in amazement as Leo easily passed every defense without setting anything off. When Leo got back they forced him to confess he art thieving.

Mikey gasped and dramatically yelled "IT WAS YOU!?"

TMNT Fandom Issues

I think I've already mentioned this before, but I've been seeing it happen more and more lately, and it's infuriated me enough to make another post about it. Can people please stop dragging other turtles and other 'verses in where they have no relevance?

I was watching some Donnie vids on TikTok and, without fail, almost every video had someone in the comments going, "Oh, but Mikey solos", "Oh, but Leo solos", etc, etc.

No one cares. Genuinely, wholeheartedly, someone making a post showing cool clips of Donnie fighting or being angry, is not inviting a bunch of people to come whining in the comments about how much cooler their fave is.

I see this the most with Mikey fans who refuse to shut up about The Last Ronin or Rise!Mikey and will shove them into everything, even posts that they have absolutely no connection to.

I was mostly watching videos of 12!Donnie, and whenever I looked in the comments, there'd be someone mentioning how one of the other turtles solo. And whenever anyone would be like, "well, Mikey doesn't actually solo', The Last Ronin would be wheeled out as an argument.

The Last Ronin has no bearing on any other iterations. Just because Mikey is the last one standing, and is incredibly strong, in that version does not mean that he's the strongest in every version. If any other turtle was the last one standing, they'd probably end up just as strong as The Last Ronin. Even so, stop drawing Last Ronin into conversations that aren't about him. If I'm discussing 03!Donnie for example, I do not want to hear about how amazing Last Ronin supposedly is. The character and plot do not interest me at all, and every time it's thrust into my view by someone clumsily trying to take attention away from another character or 'verse, it makes me even less inclined to ever give it a go.

And before anyone comes at me with the whole "Mikey has the most potential canonically", I would like to highlight that having the most potential and being the strongest are not the same thing. If he put more effort in, sure, maybe he'd be the strongest in every 'verse. But as it stands, the strongest is usually Raph, and the best fighter is usually Leo and/or Raph. (No, I am not counting Rise!Mikey as the strongest turtle to ever exist because most of his physical strength is reliant on his mystic powers. The Bayverse boys can straight up yeet storage containers with no powers).

Also, just because Donnie is usually one of the weaker fighters (I would argue that he is one of the strongest in 87 and Rise, though Rise weirdly tries to nerf him after the Draxum fight), doesn't mean that he can't keep up with his brothers. He is not weak. They all work with heavy machinery, train daily, and are great with strategy for the most part.

Deliberately going onto posts/vids/fics only to diss the character that they are about and try to shove your own fave down people's throats is not going to win you any friends. It's insufferable. Why don't I start going on any posts about Mikey or Leo and say how dumb they are compared to Donnie? It would be an unfair comparison as Donnie is made to be the smart one, but that's what Leo and Mikey stans keep doing to Donnie content. Donnie isn't meant to be the strongest or the best fighter, which I've accepted, but that doesn't mean he isn't a BAMF in his own right, with some pretty cool fight scenes.

If content does not contain your fave character, do not shoehorn them in, and/or degrade the character it's actually about. It's rude, annoying, and it's part of the reason that certain parts of the fandom (*cough* Rise *cough*), get such a bad reputation. All you are doing is making people hate your favourite characters and series, which means less chance of getting content including them.

Also, Rise!Fans, stop trying to make Mayhem posts about Risem I saw a video saying that the fight scenes in Mayhem are awesome (which they are, the animation I'd beautiful and the flow of the fights scenes is handled incredibly well), and one of the first comments was about how "I've not watched the movie yet, bit I doubt that they can beat the Rise first scenes." Firstly, if you havent watched the movie, shut up. You cant compare something you haven't seen with something that you already watched. Secondly, it is entirely possible to say that the fight scenes in both are great. Here, I'll do out right now, I think every iteration of TMNT have some great fight scenes, and Rise and Mayhem bitj definitely have something beautifully animated and choreographed scenes.

Honestly, the fandom has started making me hate most versions of Mikey on principle because they constantly force incorrect characterisations of him down my throat (he's the strongest/wisest/best at feelings, but he's also a sweet abuse little uwu bean that can do no wrong. He's incredibly smart but also mega innocent. He's amazing at reading people, but he also.just wants to believe the best of everyone. It's all so contradictory, and pretty much none of it ever actually fits Mikey).

It's the same with Rise Leo. Most of the fandom seems to make him into someone he's not, siphoning personality traits from other characters and iterations (like making him team medic, making him the one that likes to dance and sing, or the one that gets on my nerves the most, making him as smart as Donnie. That isn't his role, and none of the turtles are ever as smart as Donnie. Don't even try and fight me on that. Leos may be more strategic, but in outright booksmart intelligence, every Donnie takes the cake).

I feel like I'm probably going to get a lot of complaints about this seeing how popular Mikey and Rise!Leo are, but I am just so sick of trying to enjoy content for Donnie when every other comment section is being flooded by people dragging him to try and make their fave appear superior. If you want to gush about Mikey or Leo, go to content made about them where your input will be appreciated, rather than deliberately pissing other people off.

This may possible be my longest rant yet 😅 Congratulations to anyone who made it this far down!!

 Mayhem: Agent 64 knows that their mission is over. That the council would want them back to continue their work elsewhere. So, they gave themselves a new mission: to spy and report on human activity.

Cassandra Jones: Cassandra Jones had loved the Foot Clan, the Clan just hadn’t loved her back.

Senor Hueso: The hidden city was aware of the invasion but didn’t know how it ended. Senor Hueso finds out when the turtles come to eat.

Big Mama: Leo is trapped with Raph by Big Mama (Whump)

Kimono: Ralph wears a kimono; it feels strangely right.

Pizza: Mikey tries to make pizza from scratch. It... doesn't really work out.

April O’Neil: It’s hard to believe that April is human sometimes, even she sometimes questions it. (BAMF April)

Cassy Jr.: Cassy Jr has a panic attack. Raph helps. (Angst)

 Cannonball: Cannonball Day ends with Mikey having his arm in a cast. (Hurt/Comfort, Broken Bones)

 Purple Dragons: Donnie was not happy that the Purple Dragons had made him almost destroy his brothers. But they were fine in the end, so no harm, no foul. That didn't mean they weren’t still on thin ice with him, then they decided to do the incredibly stupid thing of risking his son’s AI’s life. They weren't going to know what hit them.

Invention: Donnie has never been the safest in his lab. He regrets that now more than ever, as his newest invention begins to malfunction.

Hidden City: The Hidden City is a weird place. so, when something weirder comes along they notice it. And rumors are a thing no matter where you live.

Warren Stone: Warren Stone is not the most intimidating figure, but he'll be damned if the relaxing date he had planned for him and his boyfriend was to be interrupted by anything.

Lou Jitsu: Splinter finds an old Lou Jitsu Movie, and he takes it home. He never meant for his boys to find it. (Fluff, Angst, Tots)

Snow Day: Mikey isn't the best at dealing with low temperatures. His brothers must deal with the aftermath. (Hurt/Comfort, Whump)

Sleepover: Everyone needs some comfort after the invasion, and since Leo can't be moved from the Med Bay, they'll have to make do. (Hurt/Comfort)

Mrs. Cuddles: How did Raph become afraid of Mrs. Cuddles?

Hypno: It turns out that Leo and Hypno have a lot in common. So, when they're not trying to beat the living daylights out of each other, they have a lot to talk about.

Turtle Tots: Turtle brothers have always been trouble magnets, which hadn't been great when they were younger. There was a reason Donnie invented his battle shell.

Rise: The Hamato children remember what it was like when they awoke their Ninpo.

Oh wow, I had forgotten about that. But yes! That's me indeed! Don't worry, being asked about a fic even I had forgotten about makes me oddly happy.

Well, a summary of most of the things I remember having planned for it is;

The fight in Valhalla goes differently as Takemitchy manipulates some members of the gang into turning on each other. This turns the tide in the fight, and prevents Baji from interacting with Kisaki.

The gang is defeated, absorbed into Toman, and Baji demoted to lowest class for the betrayal.

Baji decides to go to Takemitchy for help, who shrugs and says that he can't since he isn't part of the gang at all. So, Baji is left seething but still invades his home to Izana's displeasure.

Izana takes up a part-time job at an animal clinic, which turns out to be on Black Dragon territory.

This creates a problem when Takemitchy and Hina go to see how he's holding up, only to be accosted by Taiju himself.

Izana ends up jumping to their rescue, knocking Taiju out cold before leading the two away.

The news spread, and Mikey hears of it, and he briefly feels jealousy at the fact his two love interests were with another man.

Obviously, Takemitchy, Hinata and Mikey would have ended up dating.

I don't remember much after that, but I know there was the plot point of Takemichi (the past one) mocking Kisaki after he foiled all his plans, saying there is not a singular timeline where Hina nor Mikey would chose him over Takemichi before he let's himself fall off a building knowing he would survive, framing Kisaki in a situation where only HIS testimony would free him from jail. A jail cell where he ends up beaten to death by old friends of Izana.

Oh, Takemichi also ends up switching carrier and becomes a baker.
