Thinking about how every crewmate aside from Jimbei joined because Luffy saved them from something… but Jimbei was always the one saving Luffy. They share scars and he’s the only one on the crew with the same blood type. Every crewmate shares this deep bond of friendship and admiration but Jimbei shares a bond of blood and battle and viscera.

i love. all powerful whumpers. i know i talk about this a lot but i just really absolutely love when a whumper controls every aspect of whumpee's life. not even as a human, but more as a god. a being so far above whumpee that they genuinely have no chance of fighting back.

maybe whumper literally created whumpee, and is now playing with them like a puppet. and whumpee is forced to bump into the invisible walls of their confined world over and over again, realising again and again that they can only ever go as far as whumper allows.

and maybe... sometimes... whumpee thinks they have outwitted whumper. they find a little loophole, a glitch in the matrix, a tear in the fabric of their artificial reality. they take the opportunity immediately, thinking they're about to be free... only to end up as a pawn in whumper's game yet again. the opening was put there on purpose, specifically for whumpee to find. and where it led was entirely controlled. and whumper enjoyed every second of this delightful little show of whumpee feeling some hope, only for it to be violently ripped away.

in the throy saga odysseus says "deep down i would trade the world to see my son and wife", deep down he already knew that he'd choose penelope and telemachus over anyone else. later on that song zeus makes him choose: end the baby's life or spare him and watch him kill penelope when he grows up.

in thunder bringer, zeus returns to give him the choice between the life of his crew or his own, and although he is no longer just a man, although he is now the monster, he still has the same priority as in the first saga: go back to his wife.

i think that ody is still just a man who's trying to go home, but has been forced to become a monster so he could stop feeling remorse LIKE ALL THE FCKIN PEOPLE WHO FACED HIM HAD BEEN TRYING TO MAKE HIM LEARN.

I'll never understand why Futari Pinocchio is the most popular harmoe song on spotify by a landslide. It's definitely their weakest main single release IMO. The fact that Queen/literally the entire impress album only has a fraction of streams is so confusing to me, I love every single song on that album. so bizarreeee to me when businesses don't make certain information easily accessible to its clientele???

like, for a small music store such as (but not limited to) music&arts centers, whyyyy would you not have a clearly stated inclement weather policy on their websites with regard to private lessons?

if your business, say, a restaurant, has to shut down for several weeks renovations or something, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY would you not stick a sign on the door that says so? WHYYYYY would you not make a quick lil social media post explaining why you're closed and how soon you expect to re-open?? literally howwww much fucking sense does it make to just turn out the lights and shut the door without a single word to any of the people who patronize your business???

are there legit reasons why so many places are content to just leave their customers in the dark like that and make them have to go out of their way to contact the owners/managers/etc and ask wtf is going on, if they care enough to ask?

Watched the first season of house of chocolate (chocolate guy's Netflix pastry/chocolatiering competition show) and highkey obsessed with the producers and the editors doing the absolute most to squeeze as much drama as possible out of these eight very professional and serious pastry chefs over eight episodes like I think some people would be understandably put off by the fabricated tensions and the blatant framing of pettiness among a group of highstrung but very talented and Just Trying to Do Their Best individuals but I for one think it's fucking hilarious

Like amaury chocolate guy guichon is out here trying his damnedest to teach and support these chefs and give helpful advice and step in whenever something goes wrong, not sending anyone home and instead giving private one on one instruction to the people who need it, and then every scene is undercut with your typical dramatic cooking competition music and editing in close ups of people looking pissed and salty when they were probably just thinking about nice it'll be to go to bed because they've been filming 14 hour challenges all week

Like I don't think these chefs have nearly as much beef with each other as it seems like from the editing but I do find the narrative being created delightfully compelling like they are trying to tell a STORY here and I respect it. Mellisa and Thiago talking shit at the sink. The dramatic solo shots of all of them in casual clothes brooding angstily on rooftops and in parking lots. Chef amaury deciding two people in two different teams were tied for best in class one episode and making the rest of the teams vote to "break the tie" and then when they all inevitably voted for their own teammates forced the two people to VOTE FOR THEMSELVES (not even to mention that one of them voted for the other with a clip of a post filming interview from him like "I've never been selfish" IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE OTHER VOTING FOR HERSELF). Mellisa picking tyricia to work with specifically so she could win best in class ONLY FOR CHEF AMAURY TO PICK TYRICIA OVER HER. Chef Amaury making the two winners of the pastry challenge one episode PICK THE PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T GET TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEXT ROUND. IN FRONT OF GOD AND EVERYONE! They didn't have to do any of this but it took me the fuck out every time 10/10 reality TV entertainment thank u Netflix
