actually obsessed with the dubai trio’s dynamic this episode. the sleeping beauty of it all. armand and louis’ little speeches to daniel as gifts or blessing, portents for his future.
armand, as a kind of devil on daniel’s shoulder, predicting the monotony and failure of the coming days and wiping away the desire to live forever with the warm release of death. you are not so fascinating. but of course he is, and he’s been watching him in scorned bafflement ever since.
and then louis, who pulls daniel from that gentle death and says, no. yes you will live a long life, yes there will be regret and guilt and failure, but. but. there is something in you that will carry you to greater things. there is something in you that will keep your head above water. and i will be with you.
and he was right. and he was. and daniel never stopped being a journalist. and he never stopped wanting to hear louis’ story. even then you were nimble-minded. it was you. i want this, to remember.

I need everyone to know that I have a whole MDZS Pokémon au. That I’ve have drawn pictures for, which I will share with you over a few posts.
(‘Drawn’ is a strong word I think, because I did just trace over the official artwork and just make them ‘Pokémon-y’ lol)
A couple of things about my au- 1) Everyone has a team of three Pokémon, because giving them a full six is exhausting to keep straight. 2) their starter Pokémon are the ones with names, and the names are the sword names. If they have a named second weapon, such as the flute or the guqin, then the corresponding Pokémon is named with that name. This has created a kinda funny happening where WWX and LWG have two out of three Pokémon named, but the third one just gets to be the Pokémon name. Isn’t that a little sad?
First up, because as far as I have right now they are mostly irrelevant because they are post-plot, are the Juniors!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tried to give a lot of Lans ‘bunny’ Pokémon. So LSZ and LJY share Plusel and Minon, since they are a pair! The two are very good at double battles.
LSZ tells people that his Scorbunny is his started, and he does kinda think that’s true to his memory. I gave him that because ‘bunny’ and I gave Wens a lot of fire type Pokémon, so I felt that it fit. His actual first start is his Phantump, which started following him as a very small child. It’s Pokédex entry states that, according to legend, they are stumps possessed by the spirits of children, so I thought that fit him lol. His backstory isn’t as sad here, and Yiling is simply the graveyard town that many Pokémon regions have. I’m still debating how bad the Wens fate is, so we’ll come back to this.
LJY has an Alolan Vulpix because its something I gave to many Lans. It was supposed to be his starter because many Lan children start with them, but he ended up finding a Magikarp in the cold pond first. He begged to keep it, and so that became his starter. It only knows tackle. (So LJY claims, as the tackle in question looks a lot like the move splash, and only hits the opponent some of the time. If it’s not 100% accurate then it’s only 50% accurate lol)
Why did I give him a Magikarp? Because the thought of LJY with a Gyarados is hilarious.
Tumblr media
And then there’s Jin Ling!
I had to think very hard about his Pokémon. I tried to give the Jin’s Pokémon that have the red dot on their forehead, and that includes Persian for a few. So I thought if it would be funny if Jin Ling had the Alolan version, since Meowth looks so sassy but Persian would look so dumb.
His Herdier is Fairy. I was really debating what dog Pokémon to give him here, and honestly, I just really like that line of Pokémon. It’s strong, and useful. I’ve used them on many gen 5 teams. And of course, this Pokémon was given to him by JGY, so he needs a Pokémon from his other uncle! Mareep was given to him as an egg from JC.
Most trainers in this universe get one Pokémon as a starter, and then slowly over their journey get two more that they carefully chose, since the teams are so small and they are more like life companions. Jin Ling over here got all his Pokémon within a month, between the classic Jin starter (Meowth) and the presents from his uncles. Because of this, and other factors, he comes off incredibly spoiled and disconnected from everyone else.
Not pictured here is the Pokémon he ‘inherited’ from his father. It will be shown when we get to that character profile, but it’s so high level, that it won’t listen to Jin Ling no matter what. JZX wanted Jing Ling to be safe, but his Pokémon tends to get knocked out doing stupid shit more often than not lol
Sidenote here, but while I don’t love the outfits I gave the Lan babies, I really do like Jin Ling’s design. I think he looks the most like a Pokémon protagonist!
I do also want to SVSSS au like this, but I don’t have good traceable images like this lol. Maybe one day.

Transformers Cyberverse: Megatron is My Hero Review (Patreon Review for Brotoman.exe)
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy autobots. If you've been missing my look at more than meets the eye, don't worry as we're back with some robots in disguise. Transformers ONE is here and it is incredible and while i'll gladly review it next week for now we're looking at something related, another look at Megatron as he broke bad, the Transformers Cyberverse episode, Megatron is My Hero.
Transformers Cyberverse is a series I tried but could not get into. I loved animated, tried prime but fell behind on it, and fresh off getting into MTMTE I very much wanted more Transformers. I tried the first ep.. but it's just bumblbee using the radio gimmick and Windblade being the straight man.
Cyberse's problems, as I expected and tv tropes helpfully confirmed come from executive mandates: exceutive swanted Bumblbeee to have his car gimmick from the movies, which dosen't work nearly as well when you can't lisence songs or car commericals for it, the heavy flashbacks. These were ditched with season 2 and apparently the show picke dup from there so i'm more than happy to give it a full look at some point, as it does seem to get genuinely better and has an arc focusing on my boy hot rod. That alone is enough.
For now we're looking at an early episode under the cut as Bumblbee makes friends, gets throat crushed and otherwise is kind of an accesory in his own memories
We begein with Bumblebee is in his mind palace , which I suspect was a way to let bee talk normally before doing away with the voice box gimmick the second they could in season 2. He's reliving his past memories of Megatron and opens with Bee in the past chilling with Shockwave of all bots as they watch Megatron easily win as a gladiator.
Megatron as a gladiator happens in way more continuties than I realized which I found out thanks to reddit, starting wtih the UK G1 comics and continuing into both IDW continuties , the alligned continuity and more. I mostly associate it with IDW where he went from miner to gladiator hero. It's a backstory I like, that he was a hero of the people.. but in a way that still kept him down as like gladiators of old he has little choice
Here it's santized slightly being more like pro wrestling, though Megatron still beats the crap out of his opponent, gladly working the crowd. Bumblbee also high fives Shockwave, an image I will never forget and will treasure forever.
So Bumblebee declares Megaton is his Hero and this annoys his mind palace roomate Windblade. Windblade is a recent addition to the franchise, being added in the idw comics but quickly appearing in cyberverse and elsewhere. She's a cityspeaker, who can talk to city sized transformers and is generally pretty goo din the comics. In this season she's more an overprotective big sister and gets mad at an amnesiac for not remembering his greatest foe sucks dirty ass in thunderstorms. So she gestures him to a ... memory of Megatron holding a rally.
Rather than talking about his good friend hanniballectertron, Megatron is a good politican with an actual point: that cybertron needs to be better and optimus and co are all behind him.. literally and figuratively.
So to help the next memory... abrubtly skips to Megatron being awful.
Tumblr media
Yeah this is what happen when you DEMAND the writers make every episode self contained yet also part of a larger story.. in 11 minutes. Hasbro.. thought none of this through and as such the crew kinda had to speed run his origin, which means the key pieces that make Megatrons origins in IDW and One so intresting.. are missing. We don't know WHY he went from a beloved politican to having his minons torture people and a tense conversation with optimus. Marc Thompson does a good job as Megs, easily.. but he dosen't really get filled out. He just goes from seeming genuine and helpful to
Tumblr media
He COULD have been faking, true.. but we never get that. Or any sense at least in this episode WHY he's like this. I get it's from Bee's perspective, but we know Bee looked up to him, genuinely idolzied him and we could've gotten some insight into who megs is and why he became the monster he did thorugh how he handled bumblbee's disllusionment. Instead by the time we catch up Bee's already mildly scared of the guy. We miss a whole chapter of Megs life that explains why shit is this bad for him just in his villian later chilling and vaugely threatning optimus and bee.
That said the crew still did their best and the final scene.. is genuinely chilling. It's also one Windblade is TRYING to keep from Bee, wanting him to stop digging as she apparently just realized "Shit he'll probably relive the worst moment of his life" as it involves megatron.. and thus Bee directly looks for it.l
Bee was on a mission for the autobots early in the war when , despite his best efforts he was captured and taken directly to Megatron. Megatron is at his best all episode here: he offers bee a choice, making a case for how the strong must rule and all that jazz. Well okay maybe not that Jazz he's on the Autobots but Megatron is working on him. Bee refuses.. and Megatron shifts, revealing his evil plan and i'ts chilling: to make EVERY cybertronian a decepticon wether they want it or not. Peace through Tyranny. It works well.. and it makes what he does next chilling.. so Bee dosen't tell anyone.. he crushes his throat. And while we don't SEE most of it, we hear it and it.. is chilling
Bee takes it in stride, restored in who megatron was.. and okay with it. He can talk in his brain at least.. and talk and talk and.. maybe shut up now please?
Megatron is my hero is .. okay. That last scene does most of the lifting, but i'ts a hint at what the show COULD be and apparently is after this point. It's very much a one sccene an done high five episode but at 11 minutes it wasn't painful either. It was just kinda there. Still it does have me curious about the rest of the series at least so that's.. something. Thanks for reading

I’ve been working on a comprehensive list of all films with references or allusions to in the vampire chronicles books, films, show, and related promotional materials, along with films that anne rice and rolin jones have listed as inspirations!
Here’s some highlights:
Louis’ favorite films during the Tale of The Body Thief era:
The Company of Wolves (1984) (directed by neil jordan who also made interview with the vampire 1994)
Beauty and the Beast (1946) (i just know he was kinning Belle to a sickening degree)
The Dead (1987)
Armand’s favorite films during the devil’s minon era:
Bladerunner (1982)
Time Bandits (1981)
The film Anne Rice has credited with heavily informing her views on vampirism:
Dracula’s Daughter (1936)
AR: "I always saw vampires as romantic and abstract. In Dracula they’re presented as closer to animals—feral, hairy, foul-smelling. But I always saw them as angels going in another direction—not toward goodness necessarily, but they had become finely tuned imitations of human beings imbued with this evil spirit. Since the spirit is not material, what actually happens is that they become refined and abstract rather than animalistic and materialistic. This idea probably stuck with me from childhood, when I saw the movie
Dracula’s Daughter. I loved the tragic figure of Dracula’s daughter—the
regretful creature who didn’t want to kill but was driven to it. It had that tragic dimension. The vampire myth is at its fullest, most eloquent, and most articulate in this movie because the vampire herself was articulate and eloquent. I never forgot that film. It has the best seduction scenes I’ve ever seen—very subtle. You don’t see her come into contact. She lifts the ring and hypnotizes the victim." (Ramsland, Katherine. “Let the Flesh Instruct the Mind A QUADRANT INTERVIEW WITH ANNE RICE .” The Anne Rice Reader, 1997. )
This is also notable because of the film’s queerness and overt lesbian subtext. As the Countess Marya Zaleska struggles with her vampire nature it functions as an oblique metaphor for lesbian sexuality, and she also seduces a young woman named Lili. (crazy louis parallels over here)
Tumblr media
some of the promotional posters for season 2 took clear inspiration from the poster for the 1944 film Gaslight (shout out armand):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
episode 2x03 makes major visual allusions to the noir film The Third Man (1949):
for more about this read @dorianbluee ‘s great meta: link
Tumblr media
I have longer list with citations and quotes linked at the top of this post on letterboxd if anyone wants to check it out! also let me know if i’m missing anything major over there!

Thanks for the reblog on the Lila post!
Also seeing as Lila & Heroes Dy came up, I had a theory regarding that for Queens Second Chance. Obviously your story but its a thought. (Also I may blur over to 12 Kwami/Altered Butterfly lore a bit, apologies its habit XD)
So, LB & Chat know the gist of what went down in the future & that a big event is coming up on Heroes Day. What is the plan once QB spills all the tea?
Cos some part of them would just like to have Ladybug on hand to either deal with illusions or give a public statement to calm panic.
But this is also the only time Hawk Moth leaves his home base before 'whatever' he did in QB's original timeline that fucked them all up.
This is too good of a chance to waste!
Stage 1: Recruitment!
QB wants to recruit all the other heroes, Fu is strenuously against it, feeling that the original timelines bad end proves his point. However, he is compelled to at leas give them a test.
Kim doesn't, not just cos of himself though Luka probably can't/won't be picked for now cos Sass may be semi out of commission & regardless Fu wants Sass far away from HK. Max has a fifty fifty chance of being recruits given the powers of Voyage but he may be deemed a bit to "In his own head". Kagami is recruits as she already has combat skills & can & will fight even when lacking in powers.
Stage 2: Remove or ambush key Akuma.
The most important Akuma to Hawk Moth's plan or the most dangerous that will still show up are:
Nadja, integral for spreading panic Kim, because he can make more Akuma Volpina, the entire plan relies on her after all Sandboy, like fuck any of them want to deal with that again Minon, not integral to the plan but if she has dolls of them, they're screwed.
Minon is easy just swing by her house the night before & grab the dolls, promise her they'll come play with her later. Sandboy is harder, but maybe his family suddenly found themselves winning a deluxe holiday or basically any other reason to GTFO of Paris.
Kim could be handled by telling him the truth but there's fear HK won't show himself if things don't go too well, same for Nadja & Volpina. So rather than take them out before hand or right away the plan is to basically wait in ambush.
IE, Ladybug, Rena & Carapace will stealth up on Nadja to both drop her Akuma and make a public announcement on her camera to keep Paris calm.
Queen Bee, Chat & Kagami will be stalking Kim's flight path in order to ambush him the second Hawk Moth shows his face as Kim stayed in hiding to surprise Akumatize people.
This let's them reassure Paris, keep Kim calmed down so there's no new Akuma and catch HK flat footed. his army might be an issue but that is also what Kagami is for.
IE, she goes all Wind Dragon and blasts them away to clear a path to Hawk Moth. Then Carapace either needs to trap him or all of them in a shield so they can curbstomp his ass.
3: The Wheels come off
As fun as it'd be for this go succeed and end in a rousing round of Gabriel stomping. Gabriel is, for all his issues commanding an army, a good schemer. He will notice something is off either before this goes into motion or right when everything starts going to hell.
He's too proud to quit just like that though and does still have his army and so hopes to brute force it. Still, he almost certainly calls Lila in to act as his shadow and body double if shit goes south.
If its like canon, Nathalie may also make for the Peacock right away even if it means a big risk to her life.
Or Gabriel's survival instincts kick in & he starts manifesting a Familiar. early.
Whatever the case, with a combo of Lila & outsider intervention, he escapes.
Chloe likely destroys the nearest objects in a rage, cos yeah at this point HK almost certainly knows some kind of prophecy, time travel shenanigan's have happened.
This means he can blame all his failures on that rather than him sucking or his foes being perfect and is further enraged because it means he had won and they took it from him.
Cue a trip to Shanghai.
Note: also if Max was taken on he'd be on hand either for evacuation, or to help with scattering the villains, or the ambushes.
That's just my take though.
Fantastic plan!

Here are my thoughts on the Disney movies just announced
Frozen 3: I really don't care for Frozen. It's a mediocre movie that I feel like didn't deserve the money it made. (Give that money to Tangled or Encanto). If there's anything I feel like is comparable to Illumination and the Minons, it's Disney and Frozen, so obviously Frozen 3 is just made for money. I suppose of all the announcements made though, Frozen 3 may be the one we were all expecting. Plus there's a whole video Schafrillis Productions made on how Frozen 2 had no plan, and it's troubled production history where Disney just wanted to release it for a marketable season, so we see where Disney's priorities are
Toy Story 5: This is the one I'm most heated about. First off, DO WE REALLY NEED A FIFTH TOY STORY? I really don't like 4. I felt the third was the end to a perfect trilogy, so they had to ruin that with a 4th one. Buzz and Woody are separated what else are they gonna do for a fifth? I bet it's another "sell more toys" ploy, thats what I felt the fourth was made for (one toy voiced by Keanu Reeves). I assume Forky will replace Woody, but he was honestly made for the 4th to be a joke/sell toys. (And while I shouldn't care since they're obviously rigged, but I'm still salty the fourth one won the Oscar over Klaus)
Zootopia 2: If I was forced to choose between the three which to watch, I'd pick this one. I'm cautiously optimistic, it could be amazing, could be mediocre. But we don't know. That may be the scary part, not knowing. But I'm gonna keep an open mind. It's in a kinda similar genre as Zootopia, mystery, but I bet no one expected Enola Holmes to get a sequel and I still liked both movies.

Quick notes on two Sunday dramas:
1) The End of the World, With You, episode 7: we’re almost at the finish line, Ritsu had a few revelations, he showed off an INSANE EIGHT-PACK, DID I COUNT CORRECTLY, Masumi and Ritsu are back together. I really liked the middle episodes of this series, but for some reason, TEOTWWY isn’t carrying me through to the end. I just don’t know why this show didn’t gel for me. That being said: I was moved by the ending of this episode, of Masumi seeing Madoka’s altar, and watching the notion of death become a reality in that instant.
Okay, I take a little of this back: I WAS also moved by the river scene, of Masumi admitting he would have never done anything like that before, taking a river bath in the middle of the day. And seeing Ritsu so moved by Masumi’s admission -- and seeing the flashbacks of what Ritsu felt towards Masumi after college. (Although I thought the post-breakup scenes of Masumi were overblown.)
I might be missing this series for what it has to offer simply by reading too much into it. I’m going to watch the final episode next week and take it down a notch by just WATCHING IT, rather than looking for the hallmarks of what I’ve seen from Miki Koichiro in the past.
2) UMG, episode 1: I’m watching this for Nanon and Milk (let’s see...Manon? Minon? Nilk?) Two 10-year old kids, Mew (Nanon) and Erng (Milk) are best friends, with Mew in love with Erng. Erng disappears mysteriously in a forest and is assumed dead. Ten years later, Mew joins a college club that investigates paranormal activity, and inadvertently joins the investigation of the missing Erng. The show has Namtan Tipnaree, who I don’t know yet, but is DARLING in her role as a gal who’s interested in aliens and wants to help Mew in his search for Erng. She cute.
I’d be watching Midnight Museum instead, but I don’t do ghosts and related scary shit. I’m also committed to trying to mix up my shows from QL-land (especially as I’m on the Old GMMTV Challenge journey -- my head needs a break from the historical watches). UMG is only 10 episodes, so this will hopefully be an easy watch, and I’m absolutely loving a) the way it’s filmed -- it’s giving a little Jojo/Dirty Laundry at the moment, and b) Drake as Mew’s friend has me cracking the hell up. Luv you, Korn. It’s cute, light, whatever -- we’ll see about it!

Anon, these weird people who are creepily invested in hating 2 women they have never even met, have predicted Jensen's and Danneel's (or Jared's and Gen's) divorces for like a decade now. Hell, they predicted them breaking up before they even got married. Any day now, they'll divorce, they'll tell you, because they possess these super special magical bullshit powers of reading too much into things and interpreting body language and twisting everything to fit their hateful worldview. Their track record with their predictions tells you all you need to know about them.
The reason you see more Danneel hate is because hating on Jensen (and anything/anyone associated with him) is fashionable in some circles right now. And the people who hate Jared (hellers, minions) usually just ignore Gen's existence in my experience. However, I do still see a few Gen hating blogs around, but they don't post as frequently and as much as the weirdos obsessed with Danneel.
Yeah, the only part of this I don't entirely agree with is IME the minons/hellers/AAs do pay attention to and hate on Gen - when she's the most convenient excuse/vehicle for hating on Jared. And, as I said before, right at this particular moment in time Gen is not doing anything in particular likely to bring the constant low simmer of resentment up to a boil for haters of any stripe.
I've said this before, but I just really don't get caring about the wives that much in either direction. Like trying to paint them as the worst most evil people on the planet for ... just existing in the vicinity of either J? Or stanning them super hard as if they're the most amazing people on the planet for ... also just existing in the vicinity of either J? So much projection on to two women who are incredibly easy to completely ignore the vast majority of the time.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

wait is the Living Abyss guild battle hard for people????
my level 30 Dark Cacao has been carrying me so that I can beat the first 6 stages with ease, which is pretty good considering I barely have any lvl 50 cookies. and also I've one of 2 people in my guild. and my old one was basically inactive.
it all works because after the little goopy minon things start spawning, DC does extra damage to the abyss itself because of linked health. so you get enough of those fuckers lined up it's a one or two shot kill. the only limit is the 1 minute time. if it was longer I could take on much more.

Fuck i hate playing bot with a buring passion.
I either get an amazing support that usefull or the worthless supp that abandons lane in the first 5 mins and goes and feeds the other lanes insted and then gets all toxic about it. Theres no inbetween.
So what do i do when the Support abandons lane? It becomes a free lane for the enemys. I no longer care about winning or even really trying, ill stand under turret and try to kill the minons but if they dive im out. All i want now is to either ff and move on to the next game or one of you snowballs so hard they ff.
I dont do that 1 v 2 shit. Dont be mad at me for your choice of leaving me alone in bot and then being suprised i lost.
And if you get toxic ill take it up to a full 100% and put your toxicity to shame and laugh the whole time at how pathetic you are being in a fucking videogame.
Rank means nothing. You will never be or play in leuages esports. And if by some fucked up pin of fate you do, you will awalys lose, eveyone on your team will secretly hate you and your team will be knowen as the worst most toxic team to exist.
Attack me please, prove my point. Make me laugh.

5 RAISONS POUR LESQUELLES DIEU INTERDIT LES IMAGES ET TOUTE AUTRE CHOSE POUR LE REPRÉSENTER DANS L'ADORATION
