So are you saying obesity is wonderful?
Yes, I am.
All bodies deserve to be celebrated. ALL FUCKING BODIES.
Also, fuck the term "obesity". It's a made-up faux medical word created to other and pathologize a normal part of human life. Just like "overweight". Over what weight? The random number that was chosen with the creation of the BMI as the magic good number in 1985 or the one that it randomly changed to literally overnight in 1998, magically making 29 million more Americans "overweight" and thus eligible for insurance funded medical interventions that neither work nor are needed.
If you aren't just being a troll, check out Yes Virginia, BMI is BS – Dances With Fat Ragen explains it better than I can.

Hey, everysinner!
Got a quick message to tell everyone.
Apparently, according to Amelia-Rose, there’s gonna be some awful souls trying to send some people, specifically blogs like mine, (roleplay blogs and various other fandoms, like the ‘Mouthwashing’ fandom, for example) really graphic gore. Me personally, I’m not bothered by gore. I’m the King of Hell, I’m used to it by now.
But Amelia-Rose said I should warn all of you guys about it, just in case you’re not prepared.
In all seriousness though everyone, please keep your asks closed at least until the 26th, just in case. You might not be affected, but I worry about my moots and the community on here.

I tagged this off topic, but it truly isn't.
Some people are fat and happy. Their activism would include allowing them to live in their body without shame.
Some people are fat and unhappy. Their activism would include not denying their feelings, not telling them they must love themselves. Just existing is a fat body is radical.
Some women are conditioned to be fragile and weak, and to believe that it's a sin to outperform a man. Her feminism would involve allowing women to be strong.
Some women are expected to be strong at times when they can't. Her feminism would involve reassuring her that it's okay to not be strong.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're too stupid to ever amount to anything. Their disability activism would involve reassuring them that they're capable.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're smart and gifted, and are expected to live up to impossible standards. Their disability activism would involve allowing them to fail, make mistakes, be stupid, etc.
Some children are constantly reminded "you're the child, I'm the adult" in order to deny their autonomy. Their youth rights activism would involve treating them like an adult at times when they feel ready for it.
Some children are treated like adults in order to justify increased expectations or to downplay abuse against them. Their youth rights activism would involve allowing them to be a child.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person's experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.

I don't have any screenshots because there's nothing really to be shared. I've seen this accusation against vaspider before (no actual receipts either time) and couldn't find anything damning one way or another. I DO remember that vaspider was a popular target back in the pro/anti-shipping days. I honestly think people will just target vaspider with whatever current divider there is on tumblr because vaspider is a big, popular queer, disabled jewish blogger that has been a voice and presence on tumblr for a long, long time and people always go after the big bloggers with whatever current controversy/discourse they can leverage because we're all desperate for a voice and attacking a popular blogger seems like a good way to get heard. And I think people with the best of intentions might not realize that getting caught up in these directives to cancel certain bloggers, especially on vague terms or on misleading discourse, isn't doing some greater good, and instead bloggers that tend to get targeted tend to be...well queer disabled people of color, and maybe silencing them isn't reaching the goal you've been led to believe you're supporting? Speaking as someone who stopped following vaspider back in the pro/anti shipping discourse days and has since learned and grown a lot regarding the propaganda I regrettably fell for.
This is the final ask we are going to answer about vaspider. We did our due diligence and see no reason to cancel, block, or otherwise speak against them.
Please do not come into our space, calling us names, or attacking others.
We will not answer anymore asks about this subject.
Thank you for respecting our wishes.

“Hello and good morning, Mr Morningstar. I’m Cass from PentiCrime, Pentagram City’s best True Crime podcast. What’s your comment on the theories that Radio Demon Alastor is taking his daddy issues out on you?”

It sounds like the most accurate thing I’ve heard about him.

I’ve been having a problem lately, I’ve been scared to wear nice clothes, or cute outfits out in public. I had one bad experience a long time ago where i saw someone not-so-inconspicuously take photos of me and I’ve just been really scared to dress cute again for fear of ending up on “people of Walmart” or some other related forum where they point and laugh at fat people having the audacity to think they might deserve to feel cute or pretty or even just exist in public. I guess I’m looking for some sort of reassurance that it’ll be ok, thank you.
First, I want to validate your feelings! The people of Walmart website is such bullshit. Taking photos of people without their permission is bullshit. Doing it in order to mock and deride them is even more bullshit.
Second, you deserve to wear clothes that help you feel good! Whether that means cute clothes, kickass clothes, sexy clothes, swimwear, lingerie, or anything else! Wear them! Do it for yourself. You deserve it.
Lastly, even if someone acts like a piece of shit and makes fun, that is a reflection of who they are as a person and not of you. You are a lovely human being living your life with joy and kindness!
One last thing, if nothing else, do it for spite. Fuck the people who would mock or hate us for our sizes. They are tiny and petty and don't deserve your time or worry.

Lucifer: what do you think of your various ships?
Mod: what’s your favorite romantic ship? Doesn’t have to be with Lucifer.
The majority of them are disgusting and I regret ever going on the internet. I need to go find Niffty so I can put some of her bleach on my eyes…
Tumblr media
My favourite ship? If we’re just going by Hazbin Hotel, I’d probably say either Huskerdust or Radioapple.
‘But Alastor is asexual, respect that’ For all the people who might come for me, Vivzie said to feel free to ship Alastor with anyone you want. And secondly, asexual people can be in relationships as well. This isn’t directed at you it’s just for people who might say that… sorry for the long rant, lol

There's always hope. Hope is hard. Hope is painful. Sometimes, hope is enough.
on endlings, and despair
Hey, y'all. It's...been a rough couple of weeks. So, I thought--better to light a single candle, right?
If you're familiar with wildlife conservation success stories, then you're likely also familiar with their exact polar opposite. The Northern White Rhino. Conservation's poster child for despair. Our greatest and most high-profile utter failure. We slaughtered them for wealth and status, and applied the brakes too slow. Changed course too late.
We poured everything we had into trying to save them, and we failed.
We lost them. They died. The last surviving male was named Sudan. He died in 2018, elderly and sick. His genetic material is preserved, along with frozen semen from other long-dead males, but only as an exercise in futility. Only two females survive--a mother and daughter, Najin and Fatu.
Both of them are infertile. They still live; but the Northern White Rhinoceros is extinct. Gone forever.
In 2023, an experimental procedure was attempted, a hail-mary desperation play to extract healthy eggs from the surviving females.
It worked.
The extracted eggs were flown to a genetics lab, and artificially fertilized using the sperm of lost Northern males. The frozen semen that we kept, all this time, even after we knew that the only living females were incapable of becoming pregnant.
It worked.
Thirty northern white rhino embryos were created and cryogenically preserved, but with no ability to do anything with them, it was a thin hope at best. In 2024, for the first time, an extremely experimental IVF treatment was attempted on a SOUTHERN white rhino--a related subspecies.
It worked.
The embryo transplanted as part of the experiment had no northern blood--but the pregnancy took. The surgery was safe for the mother. The fetus was healthy. The procedure is viable. Surrogate Southern candidates have already been identified to carry the Northern embryos. Rhinoceros pregnancies are sixteen months long, and the implantation hasn't happened yet. It will take time, before we know. Despair is fast and loud. Hope is slower, softer. Stronger, in the end.
The first round may not take. We'll learn from it. It's what we do. We'll try again. Do better, the next time. Fail again, maybe. Learn more. Try harder.
This will not save the species. Not overnight. The numbers will be very low, with no genetic diversity to speak of. It's a holding action, nothing more.
Nothing less.
One generation won't save a species. But even a single calf will buy us time. Not quite gone, not yet. One more generation. One more endling. One more chance. And if we seize it, we might just get another after that. We're getting damn good at gene editing. At stem-cell research. In the length of a single rhino lifetime, we'll get even better.
For decades, we have been in a holding action with no hope in sight. Researchers, geneticists, environmentalists, wildlife rehabbers. Dedicated and heroic Kenyan rangers have kept the last surviving NWRs under 24/7 armed guard, line-of-sight, eyes-on, never resting, never relaxing their guard. Knowing, all the while, that their vigilance was for nothing. Would save nothing. This is a dead species--an elderly male, two females so closely related that their offspring couldn't interbreed even if they could produce any--and they can't.
Northern white rhino conservation was the most devastatingly hopeless cause in the world.
Two years from now, that dead species may welcome a whole new generation.
It's a holding action, just a holding action, but not "just". There is a monument, at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where the last white rhinos have lived and will die. It was created at the point where we knew--not believed, knew--that the species was past all hope. It memorializes, by name there were so few, the last of the northern white rhinos. Most of the markers have brief descriptions--where the endling rhino lived, how it was rescued, how it died.
One marker bears only these words: SUDAN | Last male Northern White Rhino.
If even a single surrogate someday bears a son, we have erased the writing on that plaque forever.
All we can manage is a holding action? Then we hold. We hold hard and fast and long, use our fingernails if we have to. But hold. Even and perhaps especially when we are past all hope.
We never know what miracle we might be buying time for.

Yes! Redirect the blame to the right place. An inaccessible space is not a personal failing, it is a poor design choice made by the company and people who designed it to be inaccessible. We are not too far, the space is too small and it (and the people who made it) is at fault.
As a wheelchair user I'm trying to reframe my language for "being in the way."
"I'm in the way," "I can't fit," and "I can't go there," is becoming "there's not enough space," "the walkway is too narrow," and "that place isn't accessible."
It's a small change, but to me it feels as if I'm redirecting blame from myself to the people that made these places inaccessible in the first place. I don't want people to just think that they're helping me, I want them to think that they're making up for someone else's wrongdoing. I want them to remember every time I've needed help as something someone else caused.

Making characters who are fat and happy is so important. One of my characters gains weight after cutting off her toxic family, because, for the first time, she's allowed to just LIVE. She's fat and finally loves life and gets to achieve her dreams.
I LOVE THIS! This is wonderful fat representation! Bodies change all the time. These changes should be celebrated! (Obviously, I'm not saying this applies in all cases, I know health concerns can affect body size, both up and down, and it can just feel like another bad thing on top of the actual health condition. But I feel this does apply for normal life.)
I'm happy for your character and hope she achieves all her dreams! And that you do as well!
