One day, the idea of crossing the uncrossable was born in my head: The Call of Duty and Winx. This joke dragged on so much that I reviewed the entire first season against the background while I was drawing guys in this specialist costumes. I wanted to draw Captain Price as a teacher from the Red Fountain, but by that time my strength had left me. Maybe I'll do it in the future.

Anyway, I like this idea too much to give up everything.

Well ... I was going to write just the one, but I can't pick between them, so have a stab at each? 💙 It was so tempting to write one of these as a canon AU but I felt like that would have been cheating. 😂

Fake Dating:

She knows she gives herself away as soon as the familiar manse looms into view, though she’s pretty sure Saul would have known even absent the reflexive tightening of her fingers on his arm with how long they’ve been friends, even if he gives no sign of the pain he must feel at her death-grip, just shifting so his shoulder knocks companionably against hers in silent acknowledgement and sympathy; when she loosens her hand once more he slips his arm free, and she thinks he’ll move away but he only slides it around her waist instead, palm curving warm and solid and reassuring over her hip, and her startle this time has nothing to do with memories of a life she’d gladly walked away from suddenly slamming into her with the weight of all of her years away.

“Alright?” he murmurs, voice near as warm as his touch, and some of the tension ratcheting through her eases as she is reminded of why she’d asked him to come with her, the easy comfort of his presence steadying her in a way no one else can — why, in a moment she does and does not regret already, she’d added and could you pretend to be my boyfriend?, when it meant he could not only accompany her for what promises to be an excruciating family reunion but stay close, just like this, through all that she knows awaits her.

There’s a world she’s not ready to face again behind that imposing front door, but she’s got him at her side, and they’re armed with a pretence she hopes will prevent at least some of the questions she wants to avoid, and so the smile she offers him is less forced than fond; with that, surely she can weather anything the day throws at her, and so she just threads her fingers into his belt loop and leans closer still to murmur an affirmative as they start up the stairs.

Fake Marriage:

“I don’t believe you,” he persists, and Farah rolls her eyes, surreptitiously searching for an exit as she does so; inconsiderately, none appears, and she damns again the distraction that left her backed into a literal corner by a man just drunk enough to belligerently call out the ring she wears to fend off most would-be partners when she just wants a relatively quiet night of drinking — a ring that has done her more harm than good this evening, when it’s been the cause of what is shaping up to be an ugly altercation.

A hand settles on his shoulder; a face dimly familiar looms in shadow behind him, and her frown clearly telegraphs enough because he turns, ready to protest further, only to be pushed out of the way. “Farah, love,” her unexpected saviour says as he extends his other hand her way, and she’s suddenly more grateful for the support of the wall at her back than his intervention as she recognises dark hair and pale eyes and that self-deprecating smile, properly registers the even more familiar voice, and a past long dead floods back, “I wondered where you’d gotten to.”

Ngl rainbow should start hiring Winx Club fans to design the girls outfits bc so many of the fan designs I’ve seen for the winx girls outfits have been 10x better at capturing the actual aesthetic/essence of Winx Club while still modernizing them to keep up with current fashion than the actual reboot designs.

Not sure if I'd ever write this, but recently my mind has been seized by a winx club fic idea in which Domino never falls. Who would Bloom be if she was raised as the second princess of Sparx? If Daphne never sent her earth in a desperate attempt to save something, anything, of her home world? If Bloom never had to wield the dragon flame, if her older sister bore that burden instead, what would her magic look like?

Even further, how would the magic dimension change in a reality in which the home of their God wasn't mercilessly wiped out? Given a chance to grow and to thrive, what would Domino become?

What would the winx club itself look without the fairy from earth, the lost princess of a dead world?

Headmistress and Headmaster’s love story (Inspired by 90’s movies)

Saul was the first-year popular athlete boy in Alfea school while Farah was the senior brightest girl in every class whose face was rarely seen in parties. It is still a mystery of how they become best friends. But it started like this… -He would annoy her by poking her cheek with a pen or distracting her by drumming the table. -Farah, in order to get her vengeance, would always recommend Saul’s name to any teacher when they want a volunteer to do something in front of the class.

But as much as they like to tease each another, they always have a high opinion towards the other secretly: She admires his sense of humor and courage to display his emotions freely while he respects Farah for her eloquence in words and excellency in academic field. And yes, he asked her to prom.

Saul: Will you come to prom with me? (Stressed and embarrassed) Farah: You’re such a nincompoop. I hate this event…but When will this prom thing start again?

When they became headmistress and headmaster, things don’t change. A lot of teasing still occur every now and then but with more caution and appropriateness.

In the classroom Saul (Talking about his wife made him sleep on the couch again) Student: How so? Saul: Because she said I talk too much about private life. Nonesense, I’m not a babbler, aren’t I? Student: You have talked ‘bout your wife since we started the first class. I wonder how she looks like? How come we never met her? Saul: What?!? You meet her every day, she’s downstairs, teaching Biology. Student: Holy shit! Your wife is headmistress Dowling? Saul: I always like the sound of Farah Silva but I agree with her that Saul Dowling would also be fitting. Oh god, did I just tell you guys too much? I’m afraid tonight I might not even have a place to sleep anymore.

As intrigued as I am by the genderswap path, I'm not sure — even with all the em-dashes and semicolons and the rest — whether I could wrangle that in the space of three sentences. So Silrah bookstore AU it is! (These are all such fun prompts though, Hillie, in all configurations, and I may end up playing with variations. Thank you for them! 💙)

He’s back again, for the third time in as many days, and she watches him as he crouches down by the children’s books, the same too-serious boy who's been with him throughout clinging to his fingertips as heads light and dark bend together for a conversation of murmured words and gestures — watches covertly while she tidies up around the register, not wanting to intrude but intrigued despite herself by the pair and all that she has begun to piece together: the boy’s silence coupled with a reluctance to allow much space between them, the sorrow in the man’s blue eyes shuttered again each time the boy looks up, the lack of familial resemblance. There’s a story there, but for a woman who’s lived her life surrounded by innumerable tales (whose life, her best friend would be quick to add, might almost be a fairy tale all on its own, wicked stepmother included), she’s never thought herself particularly imaginative, and so she contents herself with observing and gleaning what fragments she can; she knows, all too well, just how painful it can be for someone to pry, however well-intentioned.

But she is curious, more than she’s been about anyone in a long time, and it has her wondering — hoping, even — that they’ll return again tomorrow, and the day after that, and as many days as it takes her to figure out their entire tale.
