6 Common Skincare Mistakes We Should Not Be Doing in 2024

drying your face with a towel.

now before you all come and attack me just listen. this one is completely optional whether you want to or not, but if you know that you are not washing your towel every day, or not keeping it in a clean place, it can accumulate unwanted bacteria and germs leading to acne.

ALTERNATIVE: air dry, or use a cotton pad.

2. applying skincare in the wrong order

you have to apply your skincare in the correct order to maximize results. But, tons of videos online can help you find the correct order for skincare. If you don't apply it in the right order, it can lead to acne and skin problems.

3. you only need to apply sunscreen once daily.

you dont need to use tons of sunscreen every 2-3 hours. if you need to reapply sunscreen, you should use a sunscreen stick, so you don't have to use your fingers.

4. applying hyaluronic acid on dry skin.

guys. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS! all you are doing is damaging your skin, making it even more dry! When applying hyaluronic acid, you need to apply it on damp skin for perfect results.

ALTERNATIVE: apply ASAP after toner/essence or mist beforehand

5. scooping your products directly with your fingernails/fingers

im not saying you need to buy anything to stop doing this, but if you don't have a skincare scooper, be sure to wash your hands with soap & water before placing your fingers into your product. we touch a lot of stuff during the day, so those same germs that we touched, it should not go on our skin.

6. not washing your hands before skincare

not washing your hands before skincare is the worst thing you can do. there is no point in doing skincare if your going to apply dirty hands onto your skin. I'm pretty sure you should understand this one, but yea.

Back at the Kang house the next night, Cam’s mom and dad got ready to go out on a date. Paenji came downstairs wearing a nice ruffly dark brown dress and some fancy makeup* and jewelry and hugged Cam. “You look so pretty, Umma.” Cam said. “Thanks nooboo.” Paenji said, and she kissed Cam on the cheek. “Yeah, you look good P.” Iseul said, grinning at her sister-in-law. “Thanks.” Paenji said. “Would you mind looking after her?” She asked. “I don’t mind, I’ll watch Cammy.” Iseul answered her sister-in-law. Paenji grinned. “I meant Cam should keep an eye on you.” She joked. “Shut up.” Iseul said, but she laughed too along with Paenji and Cam.

“Also ma, I’m 17.” Cam reminded her mom. I don’t need to be watched or babysat.” Paenji smiled. “I know, Cammy.” She patted Cam’s cheek. “You’re growing up so fast. It seems like it was just yesterday when Min Jun and I brought you home from the hospital. Cece was 10 and so excited to have a baby sister, and even Iseul held you despite saying she was was scared she’d drop you.” She said fondly as Iseul grinned. “I remember that day too, you made a ‘who the heck is this?’ face at me and then made cooing noises and almost smiled.” Iseul added, smiling at Cam. Cam smiled too. “I knew you were cheesy from day one.” She joked, and Iseul laughed. “It’s funny, Is, because you don’t want kids which I totally understand, but your side of the family’s genes are so strong that Cammy and Cece look the most like you, except they have my eye color and nose.” Paenji said. Iseul grinned. “They really do.” She said, smiling at her niece.

Cam smiled to herself. "I wonder if my kids will look more like Pipes or me or both. Not that'd I care who they looked like but it would be so cute if they had Piper’s curly hair and eyes and my nose and smile." She admitted out loud. Her auntie Iseul's eyes widened and her mom raised her brows. "What?" She asked. Cam hastily added. "We're not pregnant, I mean in the future." Her mom shook her head, smiling. "You took a year off my lifespan, Cammy." She joked. "But that's great, nooboo. I remember you telling me you weren't sure about kids but with Piper you seem more sure." Cam smiled. "Yeah, I can imagine that with her, when we're in our late twenties." Paenji smiled. "Don't make me wait too long to be a grandma, though." She joked, and Cam groaned playfully. "But jokes aside, that's great Cammy. I'm glad you see that with Piper. Your dad was the same, you know, he told me after our first date he was already imagining how our kids would be like, and our wedding and where we'd live." She said. "You clearly get his sappiness." Iseul added teasingly, and Cam made a playful face at her before grinning.

Does the skin on your neck look grey and dull? Are you wondering what to use to get rid of this grey and dull look on your neck? Well, necks show the signs of aging, mainly because they lack sebaceous glands. Using a creamy cleanser on your neck can help. Just massage in the creamy cleanser, leave to dissolve dirt and then remove with cotton wool (cotton pads). Dull and grey skin also benefits from regular exfoliation (the removal of dead skin cells). Just scrub gently with a face cloth or rag. Then boost the softness on your neck by rubbing in a good moisturizer.

What can make your eyes really stand out? You can make your eyes really stand out by wearing an eye shadow that is the opposite of your eye shade (eye color). Peachy brown colors bring out blue eyes. Blue tints look great on both dark and light brown eyes. The darker your eye color, the darker the blue you should choose. Earthy tones like reddish-brown, look best with green eyes. Lavender and plum eye shadow shades make hazel eyes stand out.
