To what is almost certainly a child on tiktok who thinks Daima making Vegeta ‘simp’ for his wife is the worst thing to ever happen to his character -- Sorry you thought that was news, but Bulma being the biggest armor gap in his stubborn pride has been a running gag for 30 years

^ He made this face learning his wife and child aren't perma-dead

and then the next time Toriyama wrote a Dragon Ball Script, he decided to write a story in which Vegeta spends half of the movie trying to non-violently redirect a gods' wrath away from his wife's birthday party

Daima did not make Vegeta a simp for his wife. Bulma made him a simp for his wife. Toriyama's been saying this man is crazy about her since the 90s.

Bulma did not buy her breeding kink on amazon, friend.

But what's crazy is that the bathtime gag when she says 'if you put me through this shit again i'm over it' to her husband who got killed doing the same stupid stubborn shit barely six months prior was not even Vegeta simping. That was Vegeta stepping over the bar his wife left on the floor for his convenience. That was bare minimum green flag husband behavior.

Listen I'm sorry if you've grown up with another shounen series and an anime adaptation that writes everyone with the emotional intelligence of a 13-year-old but some of y'all need to remember this man is a husband and a father and it's not strange or out of character for him to prioritize his life accordingly, especially when he's nearing a full decade of practice.

love pondering what on earth's going on with menelaus in the odyssey. underdiscussed section imo.

The funeral-like recollections by Menelaus that follow the announcement of [Hermione's and Megapenthes'] double marriage is similarly impure. Here terms belonging to the discourse of sexuality and κλέος 'fame' genre of poetry are coupled with the language of lamentation. By using the verb τέρπομαι 'I delight' with γόῳ 'in lamentation' (4.102), Menelaus says, in effect, that he gains from mourning the pleasure produced by poetry or by 'golden Aphrodite'. The scene where Galinda gives Elphaba her iconic hat is so heartbreaking. Let's break it down,

NessaRose is grateful to Galinda and of course with Elphaba blaming herself for her sisters disability, she in turn is grateful but it isn't really until Galinda gives her a gift all her own, "from the goodness of [her] heart" that Elphie decides to go request she is in the seminar.

Why does Galinda give her the hat tho? We see from the scene just before that that Galinda thinks the hat is hideodus and "doesn't hate anyone that much" when Elphaba walks in her friends see her as the perfect candidate for the hat however it isn't until we get that shot of Elphaba's books that Galinda makes her decision.

Galinda gives her that hat out of jealousy. She sees Elphaba getting the things she wants and decides to exact some revenge in order to make herself feel better. She gives her the hat but Elphaba, thinking it truly was out of the goodness of her heart, goes straight to madam Morrible and gets her to let Galinda join the classes.

She wants to repay Galinda's kindness which was actually bitterness. Gosh that scene breaks my heart.
