FNV companions meet their Fo4 counterparts. What happens? (More specifically, What happens when Arcade finds out he’s replaced by a Ms. Nanny/Synth)
Hmm... I like it! I'm certainly no stranger to cross-game interactions, but 'F4 counterparts' is kind of subjective, given that 4 has vastly more companions. I hope my picks match up with yours!
Raul distrusts Hancock from the moment he's brazenly offered some Jet. From the get-go, Hancock is subjected to the most intense passive-aggressive abuelo act Raul is capable of- "Oh, sure, shoot up right in front of me. Not like you can mess up your brain any worse than the radiation did, hey, boss?" Hancock's anarchistic outlook, regardless of how well the self-appointed mayor-for-life actually adheres to it, makes Raul more than a little uncomfortable- but under all the sarcasm lies a wealth of genuine advice, if Hancock actually cares to look for it.
Boone is, of course, endlessly annoyed by MacCready at first. Snipers though they both may be, Boone is First Recon, NCR's finest- and MacCready is a penniless mercenary from a cave. MacCready sticks a little too close for comfort, always looking over Boone's shoulder, trying to pick up tricks of the trade... and always being stonewalled by Boone's well-practiced stoicism. It's only when MacCready lets the story of his wife and son slip that Boone begins to soften, grumbling less often at his presence and even giving him a few pointers... not that he ever says a word about the sudden change.
Veronica is leery, seeing Paladin Danse as a walking, talking, power-armored icon of precisely the kind of Brotherhood authoritarianism she's been chafing under her entire life. His hardline attitude towards synths, ghouls and mutants certainly doesn't help matters either, and if anything only fuels her distrust in the system. Still, it's not all bad- she manages to wring endless hours of fun out of the fact that he refuses to ever take his power armor off, much to his chagrin. Were she actually a member of his chapter, he'd go straight to Elder Maxson for disciplinary action... but as it is, he's forced to grin and bear it.
Cass and Cait manage to tear through the Dugout Inn's hard liquor supply between the two of them before even learning each others' names. It takes a drunken brawl, a hazy night spent ducking the city guards, and a bleary awakening in the same bed, but they're soon inseparable drinking buddies. Of course, Cait being utterly enthralled by Cass' many (slightly exaggerated) stories of hardscrabble caravan life in the Wastes doesn't hurt at all. Cass, on the other hand, gets to occasionally squeeze Cait's biceps, which is really all one can ask for.
Arcade and Curie are, unsurprisingly, fast friends. He doesn't feel 'replaced', per se, but her centuries of research experience compared to his thirty-something at times makes him feel like he's back in elementary school. Even so, he recognizes the immense value her wealth of knowledge represents, and the two find themselves chatting into the small hours time and time again. For her part, Curie is quick to realize that Arcade needs a friend who actually listens to him- not to mention a bit of optimism to break up all that self-deprecation. She's not really programmed for cheering up wayward Enclave doctors, but maybe she can give it a try all the same.
Lily finds Strong to be an "AGREEABLE YOUNG MAN" who perhaps reminds her a bit too much of Leo when he really gets going. Strong is thrown by her demeanor at first, reasoning that super mutants don't really have families... but who could turn down an offer of free cookies? It doesn't take long for him to warm up considerably, finding her a welcome change from the brutality of his Commonwealth 'brothers'. At the end of the day, Lily's just happy to have yet another grandkid- "AND SO TALL, TOO! THE LADIES WILL JUST EAT YOU UP, PUMPKIN."
Rex and Dogmeat spend much of the initial meeting sniffing at each other, each entirely unsure what to make of the other. Dogs are dogs, however, and before long they're wrestling over a stray teddy bear- Rex has the advantage, not that anyone from the Commonwealth would ever admit it.
ED-E and Codsworth have an instant, mutual animosity- Codsworth because ED-E is a creation of the wretched band of mustachioed charlatans at RobCo, and ED-E because Codsworth is a great deal too prim and proper for its liking. The two spend the bulk of their initial meeting exchanging rude stares from their respective photoreceptors, followed by ED-E wooshing away to go hang out with ADA instead. Some robot friendships just aren't meant to be...

Asks Compilation 30/05
Tumblr media
And they really do. It’s kind of a crime that they never grew up together, because that would have been the funniest shit ever.
Tumblr media
I’ll give them a look soon then! I’m planning on doing a few in-between things like that after the conclusion of Act 4.
Tumblr media
That’s four accidental references. I guess when your comic is already so reference-heavy, this becomes kind of a statistical inevitability.
I really gotta check out this game.
Tumblr media
That’s hilarious, but also - people do live reads on Twitch? That’s so fun! It wouldn’t be for me, but I’d love to watch some of those, once I’ve finished the comic. It’s such a novel way to do something like this.
Tumblr media
The Midnight Crew are duplicated across sessions, and I think it’s pretty likely that the same goes for all unique Carapaicians. I’m fairly confident that WV, PM and AR all exist in the troll session.
If he’s always predisposed to rebel, then he’s just another card Sburb can play. It’s like anon said - if the Reckoning is coming on a little too early, he attacks the Black King to delay it, so Players can get there on time.
But he can’t ever win, because the game decrees that Prospit can’t be spared. This is why I hope he isn’t scripted, because if he is, this whole thing gets really tragic really fast.
Tumblr media
Hah, I noticed after I posted it, but I didn’t bother to change it. It really captured the energy of those last few panels.
Tumblr media
Hell yeah! 😍 It’ll be cool to see how the design evolves as I learn what each of the trolls’ features actually mean and signify.
Tumblr media
They’re honestly a ton of fun to make. I haven’t done any sprite work in a long time, and it’s been really fun to get back into it!
Tumblr media
Damn it, this is what happens when you type your FAQ at 2am...
Tumblr media
Theory: The Guardians weren’t cloned from themselves. They were created from mutant TBH DNA, and the Striders are the least mutated of all.
Tumblr media
As a former security analyst, I am honor-bound to practice good infosec and not share my birthday online. But yeah, we’re in my season!
I never liked having a summer birthday - I much prefer winter weather, since I’m kinda photosensitive. I’m also the only one in my family with a summer birthday. In defiance to Gemini symbolism, I stand alone. >:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, yeah, I can for sure believe that people would still ship these kids post-Veil - lest we forget the perfect storm of discourse that was early Supernatural.
It’s probably a good thing that these kids were thirteen-year-old online friends, and not eighteen-year-old college roommates. That could have got really awkward, and I imagine (read: hope) that Sburb intercedes to make sure such situations don’t arise.
Again: My heartfelt thanks to all readers for not asking me about shipping pre-Veil. I don’t think I would have shipped RoseDave or JohnJade, but if I’d actually had reason to think about it at the time, you never know...
Tumblr media
Like, I know this stuff is probably just being alchemized, but I can’t get over the possibility that Players have ‘iconic accessories’ built into their DNA.
Tumblr media
Except the Striders. They just get big ol’ eyes.
Tumblr media
Love the idea that Battlefield Carapacians have their own distinct culture. Living in an eternal war zone would change you, no matter how deeply ingrained your Sburb programming was.
I like to think that when WV rose up, it was the war-weary Battlefield Carapacians who were the first to stand beside him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ Rex Duodecim is really good but it spoils some stuff later on. you should watch it after Act 5 fully ends... maybe even liveblog it? - Cat ]
Thanks a bunch, and get well soon! I’m glad that the liveblog is helping you through it!
So it’s a fanmade video that was confirmed as canon later on? Or is it more that the author likes it so much that they consider it canon? Either way, I’ll check it out when I can be sure it won’t spoil me on anything!
Tumblr media
Thank you! You can thank @beneath-these-bones for the initial design. It’s a fantastic base, and I plan to update it when I get round to drawing some alchemy gear.
Tumblr media
It works either way! Despite the fact that I never get assigned the Space Aspect, I still love all things astronomical.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. I love the star’s dopey face, but the planet does look a lot better. Initially I made the planet’s ring fully horizontal, but this is definitely an improvement.
Tumblr media
Chillingly plausible. Now that we know Rose’s Grimoire is the real deal, who knows what effect that thing was having on her, over the years? Plus, she’s been dreaming on Derse her whole life...

@churchyardgrim replied:
holy shit this sounds so wild 👀 👀 if you don’t mind infodumping, i’d love to hear more about the Azalin Rex and Lyssa von Zarovich plotline, bc i hardly ever see ppl use Lyssa in CoS and i’m so intrigued O:
;u; honestly they’re both underutilized and such interesting characters esp if you want to drag out the campaign beyond the adventure module. as a long term plan i want azalin to be a final big bad since a lich is just such an iconic villain. this is ofc after they deal with the dark powers in barovia and my amber temple replacement but i’m getting ahead of myself also to my players AVERT YOUR EYES.
a lot of this began with me needing ways to spice things up since the players were more inclined to be strahd’s friend in an attempt to break the curse rather than his enemy. as a tatyana reincarnation was among them, strahd was also less bloodthirsty as a result. i really want to play purely evil strahd one day, but strahd as a sort of frenemy of the party has been really hilarious not gonna lie. it also made losing tatyana sadder in the last session lmao anyway
all about azalin
it started as a running gag about azalin stealing strahd’s marble since the characters were like strahd why do you live in the dirt and i was like fuck it. azalin i guess
but that evolved into the idea of azalin actually resurrected our reborn character radu (and alek reincarnation) since that was left up to the dm to decide for the player. that snowballed into azalin pulling multiple strings behind the scenes because something that stood out to me in i, strahd: the war against azalin is just how much that lich hates strahd and wants barovia.
in my game now, azalin thinks strahd is unfit to rule because of his emotional attachment to tatyana. unable to expand his own magical prowess, azalin seeks power by taking over surrounding domains.
as he cannot leave darkon, he has been using sending spells/astral projection to set his plan in barovia in motion. over strahd’s depression nap, azalin was able to not only resurrect alek, but also recruit some allies within ravenloft who were unhappy with strahd’s moodswings.
he also rescued lyssa von zarovich from her medical coma, knowing she would be an ally he could count on.
he anticipated alek to be much more antagonistic against strahd, and was disappointed when radu eventually tried to become strahd’s best friend, so he decided to target tatyana instead to hurt strahd and push him back into his depression and allow azalin to plant his own puppets in ravenloft
with tatyana’s death, he has successfully taken over ravenloft via zoom essentially
everything lyssa von zarovich
according to the lore, lyssa is a talented necrologist and inventor of the vampiric mindflayer, so i brought mindflayer variants into barovia.
it was connected to a player’s backstory, who found out the reason his old gang turned on itself and killed many of its own was in exchange for psionic abilities, granted to them thanks to lyssa von zarovich who was able to induce a state of semi-ceremorphosis.
baldur’s gate 3 helped in terms of ideas in this regard lol but the deathlock bandits as they are now called are a part of lyssa’s growing army of mindflayer mutants and vampiric mindflayers which she has been making in the furthest regions of barovia, just outside of strahd’s reach
another player character’s yaya was nearly turned into a mindflayer, but van richten was able to stop the process.
lyssa is currently azalin’s proposed new ruler of barovia alongside some of strahd’s court (consorts in the original adventure) which has chosen to betray him
my plan is for lyssa to be the big boss at the end of a vicious dungeon crawl through the crypts of ravenloft as the gang needs to retake the castle and i am EXCITED to run this next section of the campaign

Iron Studios has produced a plethora of iconic statues that have left an indelible mark on the world of collectibles. These statues capture the essence of beloved characters and moments from pop culture, displaying a level of craftsmanship and artistry that resonates with fans and collectors. Here are a few of the most iconic Iron Studios statues:
1. Hulkbuster vs. Hulk Diorama: This massive diorama encapsulates the epic battle between the Hulkbuster armor and the rampaging Hulk, as seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The dynamic pose, intricate details, and sheer size of the statue make it a centerpiece for any collection, perfectly capturing the intensity of the clash between two titanic forces.
2. Darth Vader Legacy Replica: Iron Studios’ rendition of Darth Vader pays homage to one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history. The statue’s imposing presence, meticulously recreated armor, and flowing cape evoke the dark allure of the Sith Lord. It stands as a testament to Iron Studios’ ability to translate legendary characters into tangible art.
3. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Deluxe Art Scale: Based on Frank Miller’s seminal graphic novel, this statue immortalizes Batman in his iconic battle-ready pose, complete with his gritty armor and flowing cape. The weathered texture and intricate sculpting capture the essence of an older, more rugged Dark Knight, evoking the intensity of the source material.
4. X-Men vs. Sentinel Battle Diorama: This diorama brings together several X-Men characters locked in a desperate battle against a towering Sentinel. The intricately designed base, diverse cast of characters, and attention to detail create a dynamic scene that reflects the X-Men’s struggle against mutant-hunting robots.
5. Wonder Woman Deluxe Art Scale: Iron Studios’ representation of Wonder Woman showcases the Amazonian warrior in her iconic pose, capturing her strength and beauty. The statue’s intricate armor, flowing hair, and determined expression embody the essence of the character as a symbol of power and justice.
6. Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus Rex Deluxe Art Scale: Paying homage to Steven Spielberg’s classic film, this statue immortalizes the fearsome T. rex in all its glory. The detailed sculpting and lifelike textures make the statue feel like a living, breathing dinosaur frozen in time, appealing to both fans of the movie and paleontology enthusiasts.
7. Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin Battle Diorama: This dynamic diorama captures the intense rivalry between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. The intricate details, including Spidey’s dynamic pose and Goblin’s maniacal expression, bring the iconic comic book battle to life, making it a must-have for Spider-Man fans.
8. Aquaman Deluxe Art Scale: Drawing inspiration from Jason Momoa’s portrayal in the DC Extended Universe, this statue showcases Aquaman in a regal pose, wielding his trident. The flowing water effects and meticulously crafted costume capture the essence of the Atlantean hero, making it a standout piece.
In conclusion, These iconic Iron Studios statues are testaments to the studio’s dedication to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to bring fictional characters and moments to life. Each statue serves as a tangible tribute to the characters and stories that have left an indelible mark on pop culture, making them cherished additions to collectors’ showcases around the world.

TOP 12 WICKED QUEEN PORTRAYALS
Tumblr media
@sunlit-music @mademoiselle-princesse @princesssarisa @superkingofpriderock @metropolitan-mutant-of-ark @amalthea9 @theancientvaleofsoulmaking @astrangechoiceoffavourites @giuliettaluce
Alongside the Big Bad Wolf, Cinderella’s Stepmother, The Giant from Jack and The Beanstalk, The Witch from Hansel and Gretel and Bluebeard, The Wicked Queen from Snow White is one of the most iconic fairy tale villains of all time. A lot of people come to consider her the real protagonist of the fairy tale, since is her desire to be considered the Fairest of All and her actions to keep that title what puts the narrative in motion. And today, i will rank my favorite portrayals of this fascinatingly nasty foe.
12º Miranda Richardson as Queen Elspeth in Snow White: The Fairest of Them All (2001)
Talk about being typecast: before that turn as Snow White’s Evil Queen, Richardson had portrayed an Evil Sorceress Queen and Stepmother in Jim Henson’s The Storyteller (’The Three Ravens’ episode) and she was a wicked Sorceress Stepmother in Tim Burton’s Sleep Hollow. So it was neat for her to be called for the role of the most famous Evil Sorceress Queen and Stepmother in this Hallmark TV Movie. Elspeth is the sister of a strange, mysteryous creature known as the Granter of Wishes. Having been recently released from his freezing prison, the Granter of Wishes makes a spell to make her look beautifull for human standards, and marries her to the newly crowned and widowed King John. At first she looks content with the prospect, but as time passes, she grows more and more unsatisfied. Her source of joy is the Magic Mirror that praises her beauty, and casting spells to turn gnomes into garden statues. But when the Magic Mirror says that Snow White’s beauty surpasses hers, the unsatisfaction gets mixed with paranoia, and Elspeth slowly abuses her power in constantly harming other people, until there is no magic enough...
11º Herta Kravina in Schneewitchen (1971)
This german TV Movie is the most faithfull adaptation of the Grimm’s tale original edition, not only keeping the three murder attempts by ribbon/lace/corset, hair comb and apple, but also being the only one to show the Queen dancing to death with hot iron shoes in Snow White’s wedding. This is enough to make it worth a checkout. The other reason i find this version interesting is how the Queen comunicates with the Magic Mirror: they sing to each other. And Kravina has a really good voice (no wonder she was a voice actress for Peggy Lee in the first german/dutch dub of Disney’s Lady and The Tramp). Sometimes that is enough to get a spot in a ranking.
10º Mari Yokoo/Caterina Rochiara/Regina Reagan/Carol Jacobanis as Queen Crystal in The Legend of Snow White (1994)
From the outside, Queen Chrystal appears to be calm, regal, and sophisticated, but in reality, this collected and stately facade hides an extremely sadistic, hateful, cold and sinister person. She is ruthless, jealous and obsessive and wants nothing more than to be the fairest in the land. She also has an extreme vanity that made her utterly intolerant of rivals. Being solely focused on the idea of becoming the fairest of all, Queen Chrystal does not appear to be significantly involved in governing her husband's kingdom, though the skeletal remains of prisoners in her dungeon point to her being a villainous ruler. In the end, her mad vanity and jealousy of her stepdaughter Snow White drove her to murderous insanity. Later is revealed that Queen Chrystal is not unredeamably evil as everyone thins, but an actually kind and gentle person who is possessed by an Evil Spirit.
09º Diana Rigg as the Queen in Canon Movie Tales: Snow White (1987)
This lady is the personification of paranoia multiplied by the double. Why? Because the Magic Mirror didn’t needed to say that the little child Snow White was the fairest, this queen just feared so much that the princess’s beauty would outgrow hers that she ordered the huntsman to kill her. Basically: run, she is bad news.
08º Jeri Arredondo as Sly Fox in Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales For Every Child (1995)
Sly Fox... What a cunning diva. People try to counsel to not use alone a Magic Mirror that is a portal to the spirit world, but who says she listens? She is just there to hear the singing of her praises, and will try to eliminate anyone who gets on her way. She even goes so far as taking the appearance of the kind hearted nurse Sage Flower to lure her stepdaughter White Snow to eat the poisoned appled. What is not to love about that bastard?
07º Kazue Komiya/Arlene Banas as the Queen in Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics (1989)
Interestingly this encarnation starts naturally cold, calm and collected, ocasionally at the princess Snow White to see if she can ever grow more beautifull than her, and dismissing the girl with contempt. It is years later that she lets go of acting calm and collected, because after hearing some gossips in the palace, she asks Snow White if she thinks of herself as more beautifull than the Queen, and her stepdaughter reacts by exclaiming that the Queen is vain and cruel, and to her eyes that makes her ugly. So besides the desire of being considered the most beautifull, you get the feeling that this Queen pursues Snow White as a way to shut a person that dares to rebell against her, wich ads new interesting dimentions to their antagonism.
06º Dorothy Cumming as Queen Brangomar in Snow White (1916)
Brangomar was once a lady in waiting of the palace. But one day, she met the powerfull Witch Rex, who offered to give Brangomar anything she wanted. And what Brangomar wanted was to become a beautifull Queen. Wich was achieved by a faustian deal where Witch Rex would cast a spell that killed Imogene, the previous Queen, while in return Brangomar would have to find a way of getting Snow White’s heart for the Witch. Years have passed, and now Brangomar  must kill the princess to pay her debt, or else everything she got will be lost. Hey, here is a way of making a villain tragic, almost simpathetic and complex while keeping clear that she is still a villain!
05º Vanessa Redgrave as the Queen in Faerie Tale Theatre (1984)
The most loud and bombastic portrayal of the Wicked Queen ever put on screen. Bringing to television her sperience from stage, that allows some more over the top emotional reactions, Redgrave had the time of her life in that role, indulging in twirling, preening and screening as much as she could, and his Queen is all the most fun for it.
04º Gudrun Landgrebe as the Queen in Schneewittchen (1992)
What i live about Landgrebe’s Queen is her range: at first she acts all humble, discreet, cold and mysteryous. Then her husband leaves to fight in a Crusade, and she trows the white veil and gray clothing of humility to show a diva red hair and orange dress, as to say “Hey, the King leaved, i have all the power here now and you must do as i say”. Later, a knight comes, offering a magical crystal ball that connected to a mirror says all the truth, and the Queen takes posession of it to ask about her beauty. When Mirror says that the most beautifull woman in the kingdom is Snow White, she gets infuriated, than goes to carefully plan ways to eliminate the princess once and for all. The highlight is when she takes the disguise of a russian male doctor to offer the apple (where she injects poison into with her ring) to Snow White.
03º Maria Antonieta de Las Nieves in El Chapulin Colorado: Blancanieves y los Siete Churín Churín Fun Flais (1978)
This three part episode of the mexican comedy superheroe show is a loving parody of the Disney version, that stands out as an enjoyable retelling of the classic fairy tale in its own right. Interestingly, while most of the comedy in the episode is delivered in the form of over the top slapistick, de Las Nieves’s delivers a straight faced, contained performance. Wich makes her answers to the absurd situations in the story all the more funny.
02º Patricia Medina as the Queen in Snow White And The Three Stooges (1961)
This lady was a hell of a foe: she not only antagonizes Snow White for the title of the Most Beautifull, going so far as to lock the princess in a dungeon for no crime at all, but also, alongside her partner in crime Count Oga, ordered a murder attempt aggainst Prince Charming when he was a child, to prevent him from marrying Snow White, and this way she could become ruller of the kingdoms of Fortunia and Bravuria. Troughout the film, you think that she could win, since she has powerfull magic, spy and a mighty army at her comand, wich makes the viewer get all the more excited on the seat, that is how enjoyable Medina’s Queen is.
And my Number One Portrayal of the Wicked Queen is...
01º Lucille La Verne as the Queen in Disney’s Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (1937)
The first encarnation of the character that i ever saw in my childhood, and the one that still sends chills/shivers to my spine. As a young Queen, she rarely smiles, acting cold and calculating, intidimidating who is subordinate to her with the expression of her eyes and highbrows. And as a Crone, she lowdly indulges in her cruelty, offering the poisoned apple to her pet raven to scare him, and mocking the dead skeleton of a prisoner inside the castle’s dungeons. That balance between cold calculism and loud cruelty, where both are equally unsetling and scary, is something very hard to achieve, but i think this encarnation did a very good job in achieving that balance, that every other  portrayal that camed tried to draw influence from it ever since. And that’s why Disney’s Wicked Queen is my Number One portrayal.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Addi Adamets in Schneewittchen (1955), Marianne Christina Schiling in Schneewittchen (1961) and Sonja Kirchberger in Sechs Auf Einen Streich (2009)

SPG Kazooland Master Post
Kazooland is the alternate dimension in the Steam Powered Giraffe Universe.  This post contains various facts and tidbits mentioned by David and Bunny Bennett about it on tumblr and the official SPG websites over the years.  Please feel free to share more information in the reblogs!
Kazooland was named for the mentor of David Bennett, Bunny Bennett, Jon Sprague, Erin Burke, and Bryan Barbarin, Mr.Jerry Hager's mime persona: Kazoo the Mime
By 1897, Peter Walter had unlocked the power of Blue Matter and   subsequently, created an alternate reality he dubbed   Kazooland.
Excerpt from The Story of the Cavalcadium
The Cavalcadium tried to  make a permanent portal to Kazooland in their building, based on Peter Walter I’s studies.
The  Cavalcadium was wiped from existence in an instant, and it took Peter  a few months to realize it had simply vanished. Time and space itself  left a void to forget it ever was.
The  Cavalcadium building now exists in the seams of Kazooland, and acts  as a hub to many other parts of the dimension. A few doorways even exist on Earth.
Current link to the map of Kazooland: https://www.thecavalcadium.com/Kazooland.html
Tumblr media
Information available about Kazooland as late as 2014
Asininia*             The dark kingdom of Ignatius Becile. Long having taken refuge from Earth, the   black-handed Becile has built a giant city which is depleting Asininia of its   natural resources and precious rock candy veins. His aim is creating an   unstoppable army of candy-powered automatons to consume the universe.
*name is derived from “asinine”
The 8th Dimension of Absolute and Infinite Terror           The only persistent door to the  terrible 8th dimension. Its history is unclear but it is indeed locked and guarded by Jumbo, The Pink Whale With A Top  Hat.* The 8th dimension is notorious for being the place of fermenting  nightmares and evil Lovecraftian Beasts.
*Jumbo can be found in the album The Vice Quadrant, guarding Commander Cosmo and The Necrostar
Horroria
A jagged mountain range of ash and  death, which is primarily a refuge for monsters. A couple of human  settlements exist, but the majority of inhabitants of the continent  are Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, Zombies, Witches, Cultists,  Poltergeists, Man-Eating Hamburgers, and Hamburger-Eating Men.
Hypexion V
A presumed alien homeworld of the  Hypexions; thin bipedal humanoids with a sweet tooth.
Ironically Foreboding Shaped Islands
The Chaos Sea marks these bodies of  land as a legend, but time travelers and fortunate explorers speak of  adventurous sailors, pirates, and buried treasure. It is  believed the famous Captain Albert Alexander was the first to have  sailed the Chaos Sea, yet only stories remain.
Lola
The Hypexion Moon infested with the  diabolical Moon Worms. The Moon Worm Queen is held responsible for  eating a chunk of Hypexion V before she was destroyed, but a newly  born Moon Worm Queen is the talk among the stars. The   talking stars of course.
Lotsasand
An ancient dust land belonging to the  ancestors of the Kingdom of Set. Though primarily a land for the  outsourcing of dust and camels, the age old tales of Jackal Men,  Living Mummies, and Scarab People still invoke questions of mysticism  in even the most skeptical of skeptics.
Meh
An icy northern land of Snow Queens and  Mystical Creatures. Many a wise pipe smoking old bearded man tell  stories about this enchanted place, but few are listened to.
Merveille
Merveille is the remains of the once  great Circus Empire, which exploded eons ago and left a watercolored  land of saturated imagination. The inhabitants are mostly the  Speechless Ones, also known as Mimes. It is often described as a  tangible dream, and artists from all over the multiverse have tapped  into its presence for inspiration and escape.
Cities:                    Bip
The capital of  Merveille was named after its founder, and is a favorite spot for  vacation for Peter Walter VI. It was also in Bip that the Great War of 1823 was ended by a mysterious mime with a magical  kazoo.
New Pieland
Once a paradise of wilderness, pilgrims  from Old Pieland settled here declaring it New Pieland after their  former continent was completely devoured since it actually lived  up to its namesake. It was quite literally a giant land mass of flaky  crust with a warm gooey appley interior.
New Pieland is home to many American immigrants and many other multiverse settlers.  Humans, Robots, Clowns, Cat People, and Vleeds are just a few of the races you'll find in the melting pot which is New Pieland.
Cities:                    Biscuit Town
Biscuit Town is a famous small  mining town in the eastern part of New Pieland. It is home   primarily to clowns, wizards, and talking animals. Biscuit Town has   been run by Walter Robot The Jon until recently, and was the first  town in New Pieland to elect a robot for Mayor. Currently, in  the Jon's absence the Mayor's Assistant Boft is  struggling with the encroaching rogue nation of Asininia, a  resource-hungry super kingdom of mad scientists and candy-powered  androids.    Preferbia   This large sprawling landscape   of suburbia is a metropolis of 1950's ideals, where the  beautiful residents are protected from the ravages of time by a blue  matter rich force field over the city. Created by a visionary man  from Earth after slipping through an interdimensional rift, Howard  Lloyd saw the potential of the unstable rift and created what some  have called the 1950s utopia of mankind. Those who enter  the city rarely decide to leave the prospect of eternal youth, but  some do choose to escape Preferbia's roving gangs of fish mutants and  frequent attacks by the Hypexion Moon Worms.
Snornia
Snornia is the last remaining haven for  mystical beings. It is cut off from the rest of the world by a  vengeful Dragon God, but those who have seen it speak of a fantastical world of magic and danger, with princesses in towers,   dexterous elves making shoes, and six winged warlocks. Humans  who find ways to enter usually do so to train to become wizards or  dragons, but many are eaten by the Dragon God, and even more give up  and sail to Party Island.
South Adventurica
A largely unexplored tangle of   constantly transforming jungles, swamps, and plains unbound by  any mappable record of time. Adventurers have sought to unlock the   continent's mysteries for years, and its surprises still continue to   surprise avid surprise seekers. Dinosaurs, giant insects, carnivorous   plants, elementals, Forgotten Gods, Bobby Darin, and Santa Claus are   all said to live here, but the only proof of their existence are the   ravaged journals from explorers of the past...
And that captured dinosaur amusement  park off the coast.
Verk
A rainy settlement of time travelers  from the 1890s. It is separated from the world by an ethereal mist of  aether called "Henry's Breath," long believed to be   generated by the fat ghost of England's Henry the 8th.  Most settlers began traversing the aether via multidimensional  travel from when Colonel P. A. Walter I discovered Blue Matter in  1896, but all matter of being from the multiverse seems to have  leaked through to embrace knowledge, Victorian style, and to tinker with steampunk abominations.
Cities:                    Dandyton
The Capital of Verk is a bustling city  of inventors, scientists, airship pilots, alchemists, airship pilots,  ghosts, and airship pilots. It is home to the Verk Dandy Candy  Factory, many airships, and the Verkian Rift, a dimensional  hub to countless other realities.

The Temecula Rift
Prior to the 2013 Walter Robotics Expo, an accident occurred while 26 y/o Peter Walter VI accidentally sealed a Blue Matter Rift that he was trying to open for high speed inter-dimensional travel between Earth and Kazooland.  The result was an explosion that singularly hit Peter Walter VI in his face.  He now wears an iconic keyhole mask to hide whatever the results of the explosion may have been.

Alright, cool. I finally have a guaranteed length of time that should be long enough to go through all of these, so let’s do this. I know the plan was to have me address each ask one at a time but that didn’t work out lol so I’m just doing it all at once. I’m also turning it into a post so anyone who wants to can follow along with my journey.
I’m also gonna copy/paste the text of the other asks instead of screen capping them because copy/pasting is faster lol.
I’m gonna put a pic of each one here, give my thoughts, maybe a goofy rating (I dunno), and then pick my favorite. Just so y’all know.
* Tanawy's entry n.1 in the Dragon Quest monster showcase: the all-time classic Slime. When asked to design the Slime like the standard goop monster they usually were, Toriyama said "no" and a legend was born, now cute slimes are more popular than the disgusting goop depiction. Its cousins and variants are numerous and some are very different from one another so as a bonus here the criminally underutilized Mottle Slime and its evolution the Mottle King Slime.
See, I don’t even need to look this one up. Here it is:
Tumblr media
But let’s be real, you guys didn’t need to see an image of this dude either. I love this thing. I never went through a period where I thought of the grosser oldschool slimes. This thing has always been what’s come to my mind when I here the word in an RPG context. Which, considering my zero experience with DQ, really speaks to this thing’s popularity. I am actually going to remove this one from consideration, though, for that reason. I just have too much of a bias towards it. I know it too well, and all variations seem to be equally great. It’s a 10/10, though. Truly iconic.
Get the rest after the cut!
* Tanawy's entry n.2: Originally a boss monster, here is the Golem. While not the sharpest tool in the shed, these brick-made guys can be quite loyal, with a child-like personality, downright adorable (I will never forget you Goldirox) but their strenght in battle must not be underestimated. And since St. Valentinus is around the corner here a Chocolate Golem variant as a gift. Friendship chocolate mind you, from a dude to another 😄
Tumblr media
I like this guy. He reminds me of a couple oldschool Yugioh cards. They’re all bad cards, but I’m nostalgic for them so that help’s this guy’s chances. I don’t know that I buy him as a threatening boss, though. He seems more like he’d be your big stone pal.
The chocolate variant is absolutely adorable.
8.5/10 overall for both.
* Tanawy's entry n.3: Here are two members of the Machine Family, first the Killing Machine. These relentless hunters are merciless and they are constantly upgrading, so models with different modifications are plenty. They even come with garden sprinkles. Then there is the Mecha-mynah, who puts a different spin on the mechanical Cuckoo-bird motif. Careful these guys have razor-sharp wings and they selfdestruct when cornered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, not so much for the second one, but the Killing Machine also reminds me of, like, a half dozen Yugioh monsters. Did Kazuki Takahashi just like ripping this franchise off or something? Either way, these are both good designs, but they don’t really work for me that much. They’re a little...plain? I guess? I guess I like my machine creatures rougher and with more detail. 7/10.
* Tanawy's entry n.4: Next are my deepest fears (exaggeration) if they were real; the Waspion, half wasp half scorpion, and the Claw Hammer, Half hammerhead shark half metal scolopendra, all nightmare. Continuing with the caravan of creepiness, here is the Bona Constrictor, just get it away from me. This next one, when i saw it for the first time i yelled "WTF is That?!" here is the Ulcer, a walking awful pile of rotting flesh.
I am NOT a fan of the Ulcer. That thing’s ugly, and not even in a fun way. 0/10.
I like these other guys, though:
Tumblr media
The Waspion is literally just Gligar from Pokemon, but aside from that I like animal/creature mash-ups. And the Claw Hammer is a pretty unique one. 9/10 for the whole lot.
* Tanawy's entry n.5: Beef or chicken? Why choose when you can have both? Here is a heavyweight of the Bird Family the taurine Bullfinch. But dont forget your vegetables, or else they might turn into these Plant family monsters, the eggplant Woebergine, the bellpeppers Capsichum and the cucumber Cruelcumber. Also, meet the Peahooter, these guys pelts their targets with arrows taking advantage of their higher ground.
Tumblr media
Okay, we’ve got another mash-up creature here in the form of the Bullfinch, but I’m not feeling this one as much. It’s worth, like, a 6.5/10, maybe. The Woebergine and the Peahooter are both pretty interesting. The Peahooter is kinda cute in a weird way and the Woebergine is delightfully derpy. They both deserve approaching an 8/10. I’m not really feeling the Capsichum at all though. They get a 5 or a 6/10.
* Tanawy's entry n.6: Who doesn't like a good dog? Well maybe not these guys from the Beast family: the Chainine who will ensnare their preys with their collars, the Putrefido, who is no longer alive, the Abracadabrador, who will eat your bones, the Crocodog, a levitating (yes this thing floats in the air) dog-crocodile hybrid and finally the Jackal Ripper (long lost relative of Wolverine or just imitator? More at 11 on the news)
Hey now. That’s not really fair to the other entries. Every one of these dudes:
Tumblr media
Is a very GOOD BOI. I think I like the Abracadabrador the least. He’s a little too un-dog-like compared to the others. 6.5/10. The Chainine and the Putrfido are both the perfect blend of cute and weird. I like them a lot. They get 7.5/10. Jackal Ripper is a badass 8/10. He’d be cooler if he was wearing jeans. I LOVE the Crocodog, though. 10/10. Perfect. He just looks like a friend, but he also looks like he could kill my enemies. Which is what I like in a monster.
* Tanawy's entry n.7: Here is a taste of Japan with the Boppin’ badger, the most Tanuki-like monster you will ever meet; Then these guys don't need consent to give everyone within their reach a smooch, here is the Lips. Also, beware of these horses of the underworld, the Equinox where they probably hangout with these other lovely fellows, the Hellspawn. Speaking of which here is the demon Teeny Sanguini. Cute eh? Not when it evolves in the Bloody Manguini. Thankfully not everyone of them does that.
Tumblr media
Okay, you can’t fool me. That first one is just a regular animal.
Jokes aside, though, I’m not really feeling this bunch unfortunately. The Hellspawn just reminds me too much of mutant can Steven, the Lips is a little boring, and the Equinox, while I like the wordplay in its name, and while it’s cool in principal, is too busy. I’m just not feeling the designs of these guys overall. 4 or 5/10 for the whole lot. Though the Teeny Sanguini is closer to a 5 than a 4.
* Tanawy's entry n.8: There are two species of monsters, the Pips and their cousins the Conks, who constatly imitate the classic classes of the humans, like warriors or priests, but this time the little rascals have gone a little farther and here they are copying the DQ8 4 main heroes in the Trodainian Conklave, the DQ4 heroes in the Zenithian Conklave, the hero of DQ1 and the 3 heroes of DQ2 in the Alefgardian Conklave and the hero of DQ3 with 3 other companions in the Aliahanian Conklave. Cute.
Tumblr media
Okay, I love the idea of these things. They’re cute, they fit right in with the general aesthetic of the franchise, and they have a ton of personality. I’m not gonna post pics of all of them because there’re so many, but they deserve ~9/10 collectively. They’re very good.
* Tanawy's entry n.9: Not enough dragons? So here's three: what do you get mixing a T-rex, a dragon and a vicious axeman? An Hacksaurus that's what! Then the Drakulard. Don't be fooled by their mole these portly fellows mean business. Another chubby dragon, the Jargon: dragonic masters of the clay containers, these guys URNed their right to use jar puns and they will make sure you remenber it, even if they have to crack your pot.
Okay now these are more what I was thinking when I heard the title Dragon Quest.
Tumblr media
I like the Hacksaurus the best outta them. He just looks nice. They’re all good, though. They fit the art style perfectly, and resemble each other just enough that you buy them all being related creatures. 8/10 overall, though the Hacksaurus is a little above the others, with the Jargon being a barely at the bottom of the barrel. Or the jar I guess.
* Tanawy's entry n.10: The only story entry in this showcase, because just look at him, it's the only DQ big baddie (at least in english) to actually call themselves "the Demon Lord" It's Orgodemir, specifically it's true form which is the first photo you find in the gallery at almost end-page. Let me just tell you this, Orgodemir is a d*ck of the highest level. The brain it's actually an eyelid for a giant eye by the way. Happy Nightmares.
Tumblr media
HAHAHAHA. I know there are other forms for this guy, and this is probably not the reaction that anyone who played the game would have, but I just can’t take this guy seriously. He looks like Edward Cullen with bat wings. HAHAHA. 8/10 ‘cause it made me laugh.
* Tanawy's entry n.11: And lastly, in a category i like to call "I can't belive these are real", its the Funky Ferret; yes he and his cousins do exactly what the image shows. And the almost copyright-infinging Owlbear, yes they did not even try to distance themself from D&D with this one (ok they have a variant but is not saying much). There were others in the last category, but since they REALLY did not age gracefully to the modern standards of "acceptable" i prefered not show them.
Tumblr media
I love Owlbears, they’re just such iconic fantasy monsters at this point, so he gets a solid 8/10 rating by default. It’s a pretty original take, too, focusing on the cuteness potential of the creature over the badass potential. I like that.
The Funky Ferret, though...
Tumblr media
With a name like that this guy coulda been so cool. But he’s just a pretty generic design blended with a fart joke. What a bummer. 3/10.
And there we have it. Probably not exactly what you were thinking but I hope you like it. I don’t hate any of these guys. Some are more boring than others, but there’s something neat about each of them. I like the ones that take badass ideas and make them cute while remaining intimidating best out of all of them, and I think the Crocodog does this best with the Hacksaurus as the runner up. Crocodog is definitely my favorite of these, though. He gets the Best Good Boi award of Bestness.
Orgodemir gets an award, too, though, the “made AJ spit out his rum and Coke laughing” award. It’s not the most coveted, but it’s something.
I know this is a long one, and y’all may not want to reblog, but what do any of my followers think of these funky dudes? Leave a comment on this post or reblog with your answer in the tags!

The Power Rangers Episodes That Will Make You a Fan
https://ift.tt/2VR6eGr
So you’ve heard of Power Rangers. Maybe remember watching it as a kid. But recently you’ve noticed, “hey, wait a minute. This show is still on… How???” Well after over 900 episodes Power Rangers has attracted a huge fanbase. Across the 25 plus seasons there have been episodes that stood out from the rest. Episodes that sparked the imagination and turned viewers from casual watchers into hardcore fans.
Of course you might be a little busy to watch over 900 episodes to find those gems, so here’s a sampling to get you started.
It should be noted this is not a “best episodes” list nor is it an “essential viewing guide.” This is just a smattering of episodes that can show you what Power Rangers is, what it can be, and gave you some idea whether you want to dive deeper. Thus we’ve mostly stayed away from the big team-up episodes (like “Forever Red”) since those are more meant for hardcore fans who’ve been watching the show for longer periods of time.
(Note: This episode does contain some spoilers for these individual seasons and of course watching the episodes out of their intended running order will lessen their impact somewhat. But hey, if you like them? Go watch the rest of their seasons!)
Origins/First Episodes:
“Day of the Dumpster” Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Season 1 – Episode 1)
Where else to begin but the very first episode? With only twenty minutes this episode not only sets up everything you need to know about Power Rangers (teenagers with attitude, morphing, giant monsters, etc.), but it also introduces us to the five characters that would become the most iconic in the entire franchise. This one speaks for itself.
“From out of Nowhere Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 1 and 2)
After the Command Center destroying events of Power Rangers Turbo, the remaining Rangers flee into space and meet up with an unlikely new leader, Andros. This was a big shift in Power Rangers, the series heading into the realm of science fiction. If you’re a fan of Star Trek or Star Wars, this premiere will be right up your alley.
“Quasar Quest Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (Episode 1 and 2)
This is Power Rangers at a theatrical level. A space colony! Explosions on the moon! Jungle planet! Swords in the stone! Only in the world of Power Rangers can you have that kind of combination. Still in the same sci-fi vein as In Space, Lost Galaxy adds new fantasy elements into the series with the mythical Quasar Sabers. Genre mash ups like you’ve never seen before!
“Force from the Future Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers Time Force (Episode 1 and 2)
Starting off in the year 3000, a group of Rangers travel back to the past to stop an evil mutant from taking over present time. With the addition of a modern day civilian and some Matrix moves, Time Force starts off strong. This premiere also features a marriage proposal between two of the Rangers! Time travel+love+Matrix=Put these episodes in your life. It’s like the premiere of an old syndicated series from the ’90s with way more spandex.
“Day of the Dino Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers Dino Thunder (Episode 1 and 2)
A send up of the MMPR days of old, this premiere has a new set of teenagers with a very familiar looking mentor. That’s right, Tommy is back and he roundhouse kicks a T-Rex in the face. If all you remember of Power Rangers is Mighty Morphin, this is a great place to see the series updated for a new generation featuring characters with more depth than ever before. Plus early 2000s fashion if you’re into that!
“Beginnings Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers S.P.D. (Episode 1 and 2)
Under the helm of Hollywood veteran Greg Aronowitz, SPD not only utilizes science fiction once again but goes at in full force with a planet full of aliens and a police academy headed by an alien dog man. While that sounds silly, “Beginnings” plays it straight and opens up a whole new corner of the Power Rangers universe. With some of the best acting the show has seen in years, this is one of the best premieres for a reason.
“The Road To Corinth” Power Rangers RPM (Episode 1)
Power Rangers goes post-apocalyptic. No seriously, the first few minutes are the world being destroyed and the last remnants of humanity fleeing into the city of Corinth. Not exactly the first thing you think of when Power Rangers comes up in conversation, is it?

Power Rangers: The Unproduced Episodes
By Shamus Kelley
We follow Dillon, a loner living in the outlands trying to find Corinth where he meets up with comic relief, Ziggy. The two travel to Corinth together and the way they make into the city… Well I won’t spoil it. If you’re looking for something unlike any Power Rangers you’ve seen before, this one will surprise you.
All The Feels/Character Pieces:
“Missing Green” MMPR (Season 2 – Episode 14)
Early Power Rangers was not exactly well known for its three dimensional writing, but “Missing Green” is a surprising look into the guilt Jason has over Tommy losing his powers. Add that to the possibility of his friends suffering the same fate? You’ve got one powerhouse of a story.
“Rangers in the Outfield” Power Rangers Zeo (Episode 6)
A lot of kid’s entertainment is pretty bad with how it treats women. Power Rangers is certainly no exception but sometimes it hits it out of the park. When Tanya’s boyfriend sees her incredible skill on the baseball field he treats her like dirt. Tanya does not take it.
“Instrument of Destruction” Power Rangers Zeo (Episode 12)
Bulk and Skull are the comic relief of early Power Rangers, so to see one of its most emotional episodes centered on them seems like it could be a recipe for disaster. However, Power Rangers has a strange tendency to make you feel things for characters you wouldn’t expect. I won’t spoil anything about this one, but the end will leave you misty-eyed.
“A Ranger Among Thieves” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 7)
Power Rangers doesn’t shy away from moral lessons, it being a show for kids, but this one takes another angle. Andros, an alien, doesn’t quite understand human customs and is tricked into stealing by a group of thieves. It’s a solid “one and done” story that adds a neat little layer to our main character.
“The Wasp With a Heart” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 10)
What’s it like to just be a monster of the day? One who doesn’t want to fight… but the Rangers don’t know that. This episode shows how PR can mix a solid “moral” story while addressing lingering questions like “How do the Rangers know all these monsters are actually evil?”
“Always a Chance” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 25)
What happens after you leave the life of being a Power Ranger? We get the answer in this gripping half hour centered on former Black Ranger Adam. The simple answer? He misses it. He misses being able to help people and make a difference. Power Rangers has a long history of team ups but sometimes they’re more about the flash and spectacle and less about the quiet moments. This one is better for focusing on one character and seeing how he’s changed in the year since he left the series.
“Five of a Kind” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 34)
Well, the main feeling you’ll get from this, “okay, that was kind of awesome.” But dang it, that’s a feeling!
What do you do when you’re faced with an enemy that can predict your every move? Not only do you get a team of evil Rangers in this episode but also the best plan any Ranger in the show’s history has come up with. TJ is the greatest for a reason.
“Trial By Fire” Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Episode 3)
Hands down one of the best Power Rangers episodes ever, it takes the shows usual moral message and gives it real world significance. Instead of learning to be a better friend or treating others nicely, Carter learns that just because he’s a Ranger doesn’t mean he can always rush in blindly. He has to face the consequences of his choices and in this episode it involves a child getting badly hurt. Sean Cw Johnson as Carter gives a powerful performance here, one that makes it easy to see why he’s a fan favorite Red Ranger.
“Trip Takes a Stand” Power Rangers Time Force (Episode 19)
This episode, much like “Wasp With a Heart,” is ostensibly about speciesism. The Rangers fight monsters without questioning it. Here though the monster only wanted some food to eat. Thankfully the Rangers do have an alien on their own team, Trip, who takes a stand and gives a speech about tolerance that wouldn’t be out of place on an Aaron Sorkin show.
“Never Give Up!” Power Rangers Wild Force (Episode 4)
Friendship. When you’re fighting an endless horde of monsters, all you’ve got is your friends. This episode showcases one of the strongest bonds in PR history, that of Danny and Max. Max, eternally not wanting to be seen as a kid, tries to prove his worth while his best friend, Danny, is distracted by a girl. It’s a simple story but if you’ve ever had a best friend? It hits home.
“The Samurai’s Journey Parts 1 and 2” Power Rangers Ninja Storm (Episode 16 and 17)
These episodes involve ninjas, samurais, and a character meeting his mother and father before he’s born. Power Rangers is such a crazy mish mash of styles and it works beautifully here. I really won’t say anymore, just feel free to skip part 3, it’s not really connected to the first two.
“Idol” Power Rangers S.P.D. (Episode 9)
Another episode centered around friendship, but unlike “Never Give Up!,” “Idol” exemplifies how friendship can change and how friends can become enemies. The story and character work done here is a high water mark for Power Rangers, an episode that could easily stand aside anything from a franchise like Star Trek.
“Ranger Blue” Power Rangers RPM (Episode 10)
They actually address the explosions that go off behind the Rangers when they morph. Yes, you read that right. As fun as that is, the episode’s biggest accomplishment is what it does when it shows up the backstory of Flynn. Equal parts funny and moving, after this episode you’ll be screaming, “I’m Scottish!” over and over.
“Doctor K” Power Rangers RPM (Episode 11)
If any episode of Power Rangers will make you cry, or make you ponder your own humanity… this one will do that and so much more. The tragic tale of someone who “just wanted to go outside,” Power Rangers has never been this this emotional and heart-wrenching.
“The Matchmaker” Power Rangers Dino Fury (Episode 13)
This is a funny episode so it could have gone under the comedy section but the fact this gives us TV Power Rangers’ first canonical queer character is more than enough to justify it as “all the feels.” The mistakes Javi makes in trying to set Izzy up with a guy are genuinely sweet, if misguided, and it’s all worth it for that shot at the end where Izzy and Fern walk off hand in hand. It had been a long time coming but Power Rangers did queer fans right by this episode.
Comedy/Over The Top:
“An Oyster Stew” MMPR (Season 1 – Episode 60)
Tommy and Zack go on a double date where ’90s fashions are on full display, Zack buys earrings from a shady man in a trench coat, and the Rangers fight a monster named “Osterizer.” That’s just…only in Power Rangers.
“Another Song and Dance” Power Rangers Zeo (Episode 46)
Tanya and Tommy are put under a spell where they have to sing. Everything. Including the morph call. What else do you need to know? Go watch and laugh your ass off.
“Trouble by the Slice” Power Rangers Turbo (Episode 22)
“The evil pizzas were no match for a simple stop light!” That’s it. This episode contains the greatest line spoken in the history of Power Rangers. The Rangers’ cars are taken over by evil pizzas, they get baked in a giant pizza, and their robot traffic light friend has to save them. Perhaps the most Power Rangers episode of all time?
“The Mighty Mega Battles” Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Episode 26)
Joel wants to date the team’s scientific advisor, Ms. Fairweather, but it seems she’s got a boyfriend. What does he do? Drag fellow Ranger Chad along to try and impress her! It’s a totally zany outing but it perfectly nails the timing of all the jokes.
“I Love Lothor” Power Rangers Ninja Storm (Episode 20)
The main villain of the season wants to rule the world. How does he go about it? Creating a TV show starring himself and using a monster to make everyone in the city love it and him! It’s bizarre but it’s the kind of comedy that Power Rangers excels at.
“Go for the Green” Power Rangers RPM (Episode 4)
The team holds auditions for a new Ranger and we get one of the greatest first morphs of the franchise where a character exclaims, “I do not want to be a Power Ranger!” A character who’d normally be a wacky side character actually gets to become a Ranger!
“Nightmare in Amber Beach” Power Rangers Dino Super Charge (Episode 3)
It’s been years since this episode aired and I still find myself quoting it weekly. It’s got a pretty damn accurate portrayal of parents who are loved by everyone but their own kids and much of that is down to James Gaylyn, who plays Mr. Watkins. He’s fun charming, and an Ice Cream Baron. Let that sink in. He’s an Ice Cream Baron. He also gives a demonstration on how to make a burger and make money while doing it that is honestly astounding.
Oh I guess some Ranger stuff happens and also Shelby gets a great focus but come on, you gotta learn how to make four dollars profit! Read the full review here!
“Love At First Fight” Power Rangers Dino Super Charge (Episode 11)
This is without question one of the most tightly plotted single episodes of Power Rangers ever. It’s stuffed to the brim with content but never feels rushed or overburdened. It gives just enough time to have fun while also not forgetting the emotional component that makes the comedy land so well.
Chase is doing his best to be a good boyfriend but his life of a Ranger is making it hard to find time with his girlfriend. Especially when the monster of the day appears as a pretty girl and he has to flirt with her as part of the Rangers plan. Read our full review here!
“Rewriting History” Power Rangers Beast Morphers Season 1 Episode 19
Steel would die for Spot the Plant. The fact Beast Morphers can make you care about a plant in just a few minutes is a thing of majesty. The way Steel treats Spot makes this episode all the funnier yet the end might genuinely move you by what Steel does for it. Worth a watch solely to get a taste for Steel, one of the funniest Rangers ever. Read our review here!
Game Changers/Gravitas:
“Green With Evil” MMPR (Season 1 – Episodes 17-21)
The mini-series that proved that Power Rangers was more then just a silly little show about five teens working together and learning life lessons. “Green With Evil” introduced Tommy, the evil sixth Ranger. The status quo was shattered and the Rangers faced their greatest challenge from someone who could do everything they could, but better. There’s a reason many fans credit these episodes with making them fans of the show.
“The Wedding” MMPR (Season 2 – Episode 41-43)
Remember how I said Power Rangers would explore its villains? “The Wedding” is all about them, when Rita and Zedd actually get married! It’s about as zany as you can imagine and also includes the Rangers taking on a haunted house full of monsters.
“Changing of the Zords” MMPR (Season 3 – Episode 19-21)
The third season of Power Rangers was filled with twists and turns, the status quo being set up and quickly broken. “Changing of the Zords” is smack dab in the middle of that with Finster discovering an ancient fleet of Zords. Rita uses Kat to infiltrate the Rangers in order to steal Kimberly’s power coin. Kat sneaks aboard the Falconzord, the villains capture Ninjor, and Kimberly slowly starts to be killed. It’s non-stop!
“The Power of Gold” Power Rangers Zeo (Episode 27)
While “Green With Evil” is the most remembered set of episodes when it comes to sixth Rangers, I’d put solid money on the Gold Ranger’s introduction being more engaging, simply because you have no idea who the hell he is. Where did he come from? Why is he helping our team? With the voice of the legendary Brad Hawkins, the Gold Ranger makes quick work of the monster of the week and kicks off the “Who is the Gold Ranger?” mystery that would run throughout the season.
“Clash of the Megazords” Power Rangers Turbo (Episode 29)
The Rangers desperately search for the Phantom Ranger! They have to fight against their own Zords, previously stolen by Divatox! A giant Zord fight at sundown! It’s a non-stop action fest, hence all the exclamation points!
“Dark Specter’s Revenge” Power Rangers In Space (Episode 29 and 30)
A giant asteroid races to Earth and the Rangers have to try and stop it while not giving up Andros’ recently recovered sister. Another non-stop action piece that also features Zords trying to push an asteroid away from Earth. Seriously, where else can you see this kind of stuff on a weekly kids TV series?
“Journey’s End” Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (Episodes 43-45)
The greatest finale in Power Rangers is also its most epic series of episodes. A space colony crashing to a moon! Suicide bombers! Space battles! A last stand. A heroic turn. It’s the closest Power Rangers ever got to movie level action on the small screen.
“The Cobra Strikes” Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (Episode 16)
The culmination of Ryan’s (the Titanium Ranger) initial arc in Lightspeed. We not only get the Rangers pinned up against a wall but Ryan fighting for his life with a Cobra tattoo monster that’ll kill him if he morphs one more time. Only in this show would that be so dramatic and it’s amazing.
“Ransik Lives” Power Rangers Time Force (Episode 4)
Ever wanted to sympathize with the villains? Ransik, the main villain of Time Force, basically makes a terrorist speech on live television before laying out his whole back story. He was created from the remnants of human genetic engineering in the future, cast aside with no thought. It’s gripping stuff, aided by Mad Max veteran Vernon Wells’ superb acting.
“The Quantum Quest” Power Rangers Time Force (Episode 13)
In an effort to match his former best friend and gain respect, Eric steals a morpher and becomes the Quantum Ranger. That sounds simple enough, but the fight choreography is top notch and the scene where Eric first morphs is the perfect combination of music, sound design, and acting.
“The Master’s Last Stand” Power Rangers Wild Force (Episode 26)
In a season that isn’t exactly a fan favorite, “The Master’s Last Stand” focuses on the villain to its benefit. Master Org is a man torn apart by lost love and jealously, driven to kill and destroy the world. He openly admits to Red Ranger Cole that he murdered his parents in cold blood. Heavy stuff for a kids show.
“Source Code” Power Rangers Beast Morphers Season 2 Episode 21
Coming at the tail end of Beast Morphers’ run, this episode is a strong gut punch that works both because of its huge twist and what it does for the character of Nate. He blames himself for unleashing big bad Evox on the world and considers giving up until he gets help from a returning character. Written perfectly, this person helps Nate see that while, yes, he did make a mistake? The best way to try and solve it isn’t to give up. It’s to take the first step toward making things better.
Perfect character development mixed with a universe shattering twist makes this a must see. Read our review here!
