For some cursed reason I’ve ended up watching Once Upon a Time (still in season 4, Jesus this show won’t end) because I remember liking the first season when I was a teen and then never watching the later ones. Anyway, this show is good but so so bad at the same time, I’m just letting it run as background noise but ohmygod my brain is melting, the sheer drama.

ANYWAY now my brain is stuck with the terrible thought: “lmao what if Encanto came out while this show was a thing? Like how it treated Frozen?” Like, can you imagine?

We’d have live-action cast for the characters, and it’d be super angsty, and someone would probably have a villain arc. Someone would die and return four episodes later. For some reason I could see Bruno’s actor doing a great job, but some would be terrible. All the actors would be way too old to play teenagers, especially Camilo would be hit by this.

Isabela would be covered in very fake-looking flowers. Camilo’s Gift would have all the other actors have a moment of pretending to be teen Camilo being them and it’d be so cringe. Mirabel's skirt would end up looking very much not-handmade. So many bad CGI butterflies. Pepa would have a cool scene with lightning in the background though.

thinking about if pedro lived and alma died:

my personal hc for if pedro lived and not alma is that he would deal with the trauma differently to her. both are obviously struggling and neither is dealing with it in a healthy way but it’s different. We see in the movie almas way to deal with it is to serve others, serve others so she can shelve her grief even further and push her family to do the same. for pedro, I believe he wouldn’t have this approach, since he couldn’t stop alma from sacrificing herself I feel like pedro would be extremely overprotective. unlike alma he doesn’t want the madrigals to dedicate themselves to the town but he actually just wants them to be safe at all times. which results in a little bit of a helicopter parent. pedro is prioritizing his family but at the same time he’s clipping their wings (butterfly puns aha) he’s very strict on how often they use their gifts and constantly worries about them overdoing it (even if they did like 5 things max). so the family rarely use their gifts and feel like they can’t really be themselves because he’s always so worried. but that’s just how I would view it! I based this mostly on how protective we see he is in dos oruguitas!

I've made a powerful Encanto observation.

There are 42 weeks between Félix's and Dolores' birthdays. There are 42 weeks between Julieta and Isabela's birthdays.

"First babies are less likely to be “on time” at 39 weeks, and more likely to be a little late, between 41 and 43 weeks."

Both couples had very good birthday sex and it resulted in their firstborn.

Oooooooooooooooooo wait I like where this is going.

These castings fit really nicely! Wasn't quite sure about Amy at first, but it's growing on me the more I think about it. (You guys should know me by now. You should be aware my brain is planning for Sonamy here.)

And Tails as Antonio!!! With Sonic as Mirabel!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA MY HEART IS MELTING I LOVE THAT SO MUCH!!! Also Silver as Bruno is kinda genius. XD He's from the future! Of course he'd have knowledge of what's going to happen!

Now there's just a few things left to figure out. Why are these characters are being bound together? Who's playing the adults? Where did the 'gifts' come from in this AU? Does Sonic still have his speed and if he does, why isn't he considered to have a gift?
