Gale talks: Prayer
One thing I see wearily often is how prayer is often dismissed as something small or insignificant. How prayer is the bare minimum in any sort of event. Some saying it’s not even the bare minimum. To those that say that, to those that think that, I say you are incorrect.
The biggest problem is that people treat prayer like making a wish on a star. Expecting it to be exactly as requested. And when things don’t happen the exact way asked people get angry and mock it.
Prayer is powerful. When it is done correctly, giving all of yourself over to a higher power in order to pray. Prayer done in such a way is a force that can move mountains.
Prayer is so much more than people expect it to be.
It is a release, a flow of emotions, a focus on something with your essence. Steady prayer can alleviate and illuminate. It is an action that brings things into perspective, even if the prayer isn’t answered right away or in a way you want.
In truth, Prayer isn’t just about asking fo what you want, prayer is about putting everything that you know you can’t do outside of your control into the hands that can, and one will be amazed what happens.
Edit: I should mention that this is a broad more secular explanation of prayer, and having a specific belief on how prayer is handled depends on ones own views.

To the shawties asking me for more Euphoria smut fics... (And imma hold your hand when I say this, with love and care)
No✨😌
The reason I only wrote Fezco fics was because he was the only person depicted in the show as my age range (early 20's) and Angus Cloud (may he rest in peace) was fine as hell to me. I would and will never write smut about any other character in that show.
Also I have my own extremely different beliefs about death and on what you bring back though the intentions of your actions that are a mix of being Black Pentecostal and other things of spirituality/my personal work that I don't feel safe explaining here.
Those beliefs just stop me from writing Fezco fics in the way I've been doing due to Angus Death (same thing happen with T'Challa fics after Chadwick's death of you noticed that). I quite literally draw a mind blank when it comes to writing those characters in a certain way because I've been raised and still believe a certain way when it comes to thinking and portraying the recently dead or those of meaningful worth's to you's death.
Like yeah, I will write about those characters again one day (I still do character study pieces about them even) but it will be in a more detached manner and probably won't happen for a while due to my personal grief in losing those people who were meaningful too me (and I don't wanna hear it about how they were actors I never meet, that still provided meaning and connection to me with their great work and attitude they put out into the world)
If you like my smut writing, please just re-read what I've already posted. Just search for Master list or Playlist or Black Girl Reader on my blog and I promise you, you will find it. I also write stuff that isn't smut so you may request that as well!

the thing about "callout/cancel culture" that convinced me it's rotten to the core is the dehumanisation you face once you become the subject of a campaign like that. a lot of criticisms of callout/cancellation attempts appeal to the humanity of the subject, pointing out that it's unfair and unproductive to treat a person, a fellow human being, regardless of how much harm they've caused and how genuinely unlikable they are, like that. but unfortunately the reality of being the target of a mob mentality often means facing the very isolating and traumatising experience of realising that you've ceased to exist as a person in their eyes. you're a representation of your transgressions, an embodiment of harm that needs to be erased like a blemish, a spectacle for entertainment, a means of earning social approval by publicly condemning and humiliating you in what quickly becomes a competition to see who can strike the blow that knocks you down so you never get up again. nobody cares about who you are outside of what you did. people make mistakes and hurt one another, but there is always the capacity for change, for regret and reparations. you are an irredeemable monster. you can't change. the only way to make sure you can't cause harm ever again is to neutralise you entirely. to drive you off and hurt you so badly that you never consider coming back. and it often succeeds. but it doesn't make the world a better or safer place. it just tells everyone that certain behaviours will be punished, so you should conceal them, and harshly condemn them in others so that everyone knows where you stand; nobody will stand up for you if you're accused and brought out for judgement, so you shouldn't trust anyone, and always be on the lookout to take them down before they can do the same to you. you're not creating a safe, welcoming community. you're creating a panopticon built on fear and punishment.

i feel like people are sleeping on the occam's razor situation of how buckwild it is to outright accuse a guy of being a clone of your friend even if you DO have a lot of circumstantial evidence. there's other options is what im saying. they could just be like. a guy. that's a sensible deduction. you should explore that deduction. ignore my shirt that reads I <3 RED HERRINGS.
i still think odile has the correct theory on lock but she's smart enough to know it needs like... a real smoking gun to be able to bring it up without sounding insane.
anyway. (mirabelle voice) i know its rude to speculate but has anyone else noticed the grieving? they seem to be grieving. does anyone have any thoughts on the grieving? i have some thoughts on the grieving.

Saw your tags in the poll about Christianity, so you're not Christian anymore? What made you stop?
Yeah, I was raised Christian but am no longer. I started questioning things at like 10 and found out that what was being taught wasn't actually hardcore known facts. I had a question about Hell, can't remember what it was about, and I got the famous "the bible says" and I'm like...you don't know? That's when I found out that nobody actually knows, we're relying on a book 😅 a book written in a time period where people had nothing but time to make up stories (no shade to Christians) and didn't really have the best understanding of the world around them and God was an easy way to explain the unexplainable (at the time).
From there, I learned there were religions that came before Christianity, and it was just a down hill spiral after that. I got exposed to other cultures and ways of life and thought, 'all these other religions are claiming theirs is the true God so what makes Christianity any more legitimate than any of them?'
I also found Christianity to be really hateful, intolerant and toxic, forcing itself on others and damning those that refuse to conform to their world view, then of course I started discovering my own sexual orientation didn't align with Christian values, so yeah. I really saw no benefit to it. I am honestly far more kinder and compassionate (and happier) now than I was as a Christian. I had to unlearn a lot of intolerant world views, unnecessary shame and hate, and resistance to re-evaluating my stance on a lot of things when presented with facts/reason.
I probably sound atheist, lol, my family thinks I am but I'm not. I'm actually agnostic. I do not ascribe to any organized religion. I do not believe for one second any human or book on earth knows the truth.
Those are my personal beliefs :P

Please intentionally attempt to see the magic in everything. Everything is magic, even if you understand the "boring" reasons why things happen. Look at the magic in growing plants, the magic of your muscles flexing and retracting, the magic of your eyes and skull, the magic of a cat's purr.
It's all magic. Understanding the "why" is just understanding what makes things magical, it doesn't change that it's all significant and magic.

For work reasons I had to find a particular picture I took while playing Gotham Knights recently and...
Fun fact! The news that Tim is bi came out like... a WEEK? before complete lock.
So they scrambled to put in EVERY. LITTLE. TIDBIT. they could.
Including Dick supporting his bi brother with a mug.
I knew the timing was close but I didn’t realise it was that close!
Also that mug is hands down one of my fave details in the game — that and all the pictures of everyone’s friends around the Belfry. Particularly the one of Tim and Kon

Zionists want you to conflate Judaism and Zionism. Zionists want you to believe that Judaism cannot exist without Zionism and that all Jews are Zionists. Zionism would have Jews believe that a Jewish state is the only way that they can be safe from antisemitism and will point to any instance of antisemitism as proof that Zionism is the solution- so Zionism wants gentiles to be antisemitic in their support of Palestine. They want you to conflate all Jews with Zionism and the state of Israel, and they want you to treat all Jews regardless of political affiliation as the face of Israel. Antizionist Jews exist, and incidences of antisemitism ostensibly acting against Zionism will not help dismantle the forces propping Zionism up.
Don't do their work for them.

I personally don’t mind the reveal that Aegon the Conqueror was motivated by dragon dreams about tptwp/war for the dawn; I actually like it quite a lot. Mostly because I like how Aegon’s legacy basically becomes: the unification of the realm and its peoples (a wholly positive thing) AND the iron throne (which has become a symbol of war and destruction). Aegon brought the realm together, but he also created that stupid pointy chair. The irony is that this chair, made of swords from all over the realm thus being a representation of all the different peoples in Aegon’s new kingdom, is meant to be the symbol of peace and unity. But in the current story, it’s become the driving force of disunity. And now hundreds of years later, now that the real threat that Aegon dreamed of has actually arrived, the realm is much too focused on who gets to sit on the silly chair more than anything else. Which imo would fall in quite nicely with GRRM’s deconstruction of prophecy, how people interpret it, and the ripple effects from those actions.

wincest is so interesting because there are Endless points in their lives where the relationship could go from gen to full wincest and all of them feel equally true. weecest? valid. awkward coming of age? valid. right before stanford? makes perfect sense. pilot reunion? obviously. pre/post hell? Very valid. late season realization? sure. Literally Any Point during the entire run of the show? Yeah.
like that’s… such a unique ship dynamic. they’ve been so Like That for their entire lives that at any point you could slot in a little kiss or whatever and it wouldn’t feel strange. i don’t think it could feel strange. their love runs so much deeper that classic romance/ sexual behaviours just seem like a given

dp x dc prompt #58
danny and a couple rogues, maybe his friends from amity, or just by himself starts up a haunted house in gotham. the reviews are stellar and you can hear the screams from across town.
everything goes smoothly until the joker tries to escape through his building.
the bats get spooked, danny bullies batman, and the joker comes out at the end babbling nonsense about the ghost king trying to eat his soul.
