On Twitter, I did a poll about vampires, werewolves, mermaids, & other mythical humanoid creatures. Asking which one folks would rather be or what folks would be most attracted to. For some obvious reasons, Vampire won both polls. But then there was a 3rd poll about whether I should draw some art of mythics or not.

Testing the waters with a concept sketch first. If I find time to finish this, there would be some altercations.

Bats & pearls float around the two in the dead of night, as waves crash through the rocky shores.

previous posts here, but the short summary is a siren fic in my own little au setting i'm building from scratch. featuring nightmare and his crew, along with some other familiar additions ☀👀

“You’re a tempestarii.” The captain’s words are blunt and straight to the point. You shrink a bit at the accusatory tone, but nod your head. He grunts. Spits on the wooden planks just shy of your boots. “Should have known.”

Nothing about this storm is natural.

Your magic is struggling, sputtering weakly like a candle in the wind. You know storms; have studied the weather that rolls off the Panthalassa all your life—and you've never heard of anything like this.

Rain pelts your skin, falling so hard it leaves stinging welts behind. You can barely see, barely breathe against the deluge of water as you clutch your guide rope for dear life. Your mind rebels against its own suspicions; tries to explain away what your soul already knows. There's an aftertaste of magic on the air. The unfamiliar spark of a power that is not your own. You're forced to face the unthinkable truth:

The hurricane that appeared out of nowhere—the one that now threatens to capsize the ship—was conjured by someone.

Whoever it is, they're unimaginably powerful. It feels as though you're struggling against a giant; brushing up against the mind of something you can barely even comprehend.

You're suffering from the final stages of magical exhaustion. Your efforts to keep the ship afloat have drained the last of your reserves. Too much longer and you'll use up the very essence of your being. Your vision darkens, blurring at the edges as you struggle to stay conscious. You can feel yourself teetering on the edge of that deep, dark abyss. All you want is just a second to rest. The chance to let go and sleep.

Not much longer now.

The voice in your mind jerks you awake, centering your awareness on the pitch-black void that surrounds you. Gone is the wind, the rolling waves and the groaning of a ship about to break apart.

A single, great eye watches you from beyond the dark.

Give in.

Those words induce the opposite of their intended effect. Something deep in your belly churns with rage. What did you or your crewmates ever do to deserve this fate? Death and destruction doled out by a faceless being who sees you as nothing more than a temporary amusement.

Despite the fatigue leeching the color from the tips of your fingers, the pounding of your heart and your terror… you reach deep within yourself, to the depths of your soul. You gather up your most volatile emotions—all of your confusion, your hurt and your fury. You wreathe those feelings in the crackling lightning of your magic, and you hurl it right into that massive, slit pupil, screaming out at the effort.

A final defiance that takes everything you have.

The soaked wood of the ship is beneath your boots once more. You hear the howling wind stutter and break off in a puff of air, like something was exhaling gently on your face. You sway on your feet, head swimming against the drain of the void that has opened in your chest. The world tilts. You’re fainting, you realize distantly.

It's a small blessing that you can't feel it when your cheek impacts with the deck. That you never see the streaks of black that look an awful lot like tentacles sliding slowly over the ship's rail.

• So you've said in a previous ask if someone want to hurt pickle or he found out about their past partner was abusive ; he wouldn't hesitate to manifest karma as u say! so why didn't he do the same thing with Andrew? i bet he had saw the two filmed videos of him with darling in social media , especially when that latter was humiliated by the girl . plus the repulsive comments in the first one ... even in one audios he said to pickle that he did check on him from time to time.

• why did u choose precisely carfentanil 🧐 i mean it's a tranquilizer for elephants and large mammals 😅 and harmful to death for human health even a vampire is a half human !!!

Isaac wasn't as established as he was just after him and Andrew broke up. Because years have gone by and the flame between them has simmered, they aren't a part of each other's lives anymore. Although he would feel anger seeing what happened to Andrew, Isaac would feel like he had no right interfering. He does check in for his own curiosity, but it's highly unlikely he'd do anything further.

Carfentanil is absolutely harmful to humans, but not vampires even though they were previously mortal. Their bodies don't abide by the natural laws that are currently known: they heal exponentially, hunger for blood, their senses are almost outmatched, and they have abilities that are beyond science. Carfentanil is strong enough to debilitate mythics, and in higher doses it can incapacitate them completely.

I kinda miss doing tumblr ask blogs, so I've been playing around with an idea for a while. And since I learned I'm getting close to an even 50 How To Guides (wild!!!), it's come to mind each time I post a new one. So, for those of you who know/read my How To Guides for Mythical Creatures, please help me out with a little poll:

My idea is that people could submit asks for any characters\creatures that have made appearances in the Guides as they appear, although the Mythic Expert (M.E.) would be the "main character." I would probably start out by reblogging the Guides themselves in order of creation so people could ask about events like it's a slice-of-life show, and I'd share those that get turned into comics (which I hope to do to all of them eventually, but I'm not ready to commit to that big a project full-time). I think most of the replies would be in text form, but I'd like to draw some of them, too! I'm hoping this could be a fun way to further develop the silly little world in which the HTGfMC take place.

How would your characters react if they found out mythics were real? Would they be in disbelief? Enthralled?

The majority would be in disbelief, but characters like Elias, Matias, and Niall would be enthralled by it.
