I’m not gonna be that bitch to tell people they can’t read something. But honestly-…LET ME BE THAT BITCH TODAY TO TELL YOU WHY YOU SHOULDN’T
Tumblr media
Don’t read this story. Don’t give it kudos or hits or even bother commenting on it. If you’re a fic writer, let’s bury it. It shouldn’t be the first few fics you see when looking up Raya/Namaari.
It’s disgusting. I skimmed it because I TRULY wasn’t thinking it would be that bad- it is. I’ve seen some crazy tags on AO3 but this one actually means it. It’s triggering, it’s assault, it’s just awful.
Synopsis under the read more- I’m not going into detail but I feel the need to tell people if they are going to steer clear of it.
Again- I’m not saying you can’t read it. I’m saying you shouldn’t. This fandom has had plenty of spicy material that has done amazing. This specific work does not need the attention of the rayamaari fandom.
(TW- SA, R@pe)
Raya is SA by Namaari in front of everyone. It’s public humiliation. They make namaari have a g!p and use it to r@pe Raya. I’m disgusted the author wrote this as namaari being trans just to have her be violent and assault someone.
Edit- I 100% don’t support fics like these. You can write stories that have elements to bdsm or other spicy things without being what this fic is doing. I DO support the concept and ideas of trans characters in a manner that doesn’t villainize them and promote a harmful stereotype. Trans!namaari is not the problem, the writer making her a r@pist is.

Hot Take
I ship Raya and Sisu over Raya and Namaari. Here’s why!
Tumblr media
• The biggest reason. Sisu has an adorable, scrimblo human form that she can change into at will. Raya’s got the best of both worlds.
Tumblr media
•Sisu and Raya would be around each other much more often, depending on what you’d have Sisu doing after the events of the movie. In my headcanon, Sisu went right to Heart after helping relieve Kumandra, and effectively became Raya’s roommate. Namaari on the other hand is a princess of another land and having her own responsibilities, may not have as much time for Raya.
Tumblr media
• Sisu has nowhere near as much negative baggage as Namaari. Namaari is partially the reason why the Druun returned to Kumandra, and half of the reason why they were nearly screwed forever, with six years in between these two events of the two hating one another’s guts. Personally I’m not too sure what kind of romantic relationship could spawn out of those events. In Sisu’s case, Raya spent a quarter of her life trying to find her, and all her life fascinated and revering her. When she’s woken up, Sisu isn’t exactly what Raya had in mind, but she’s still the first positive social interaction Raya’s had in literal years.
Tumblr media
• Sisu’s presence in her life made Raya a better person. The other biggest reason for me is that Sisu simply completes Raya in a way I feel like Namaari doesn’t. In the movie Raya distrusts everyone around her to an almost absurd degree. While her worry is understandable, Sisu is able to get Raya to lighten up and give people a chance after she had previously stated that she’d completely lost her hope in humanity. Sisu’s positive influence eventually got Raya to find hope that her father’s dream could become a reality, and she ended up adopting Sisu’s more forgiving attitude, and let go of the hatred she had for Namaari and her people.
Tumblr media
•Losing Sisu sent Raya into a frenzy. While losing her father seemed to have traumatized her deeply, losing Sisu to that very preventable accident Namaari caused made Raya nearly kill for revenge. I think that says something about how deeply she felt about Sisu despite only knowing her for a few days at most.
Tumblr media
•Her own death and the consequences of being revived can serve as something Raya and Sisu can overcome as a couple. Some people were bothered by how Sisu dying and coming back didn’t seem to have any consequences. I agree with this sentiment, which is why in my headcanon, Sisu is not only severely traumatized by the event, but has a chronic pain in her heart where the arrow hit her. This in my headcanon is the catalyst for Raya and Sisu forming a much closer bond. Trauma is something Raya knows all too well, and her having to help Sisu overcome it like the dragon once did with her, I feel can not just be very wholesome, but lead to bigger things.
Tumblr media
•I just think Raya getting together with the titular “Last Dragon” is just a neat idea. Heroes falling in love with the things they’re sent to find on their quest is one of those tropes I really like, especially when that love is reciprocated, and Sisu is a character that very much represents the love that Raya loses and gains back over the course of the movie.
Tumblr media
So that’s that. Personally I’d love to see more Raya X Sisu arts, as well as an official ship name like Rayaari. I don’t have anything against Rayaari, on that note. Raya getting with Sisu is just my own preference, and there are plenty of reasons why Raya and Namaari can work.
So what shall we call this ship? Risu? Saya? Raysu? Siya? Definitely let me know what you think of this.

I didn't even watch "WISH" yet because in my country it will only be available at january, but people are saying it's a bad cliche so I probably won't watch at the cinema.
The thing is, even though I am a hopeless romantic, not everything has to have romance. There are princess who are perfectly fine without a prince, like Mirabel, Elsa, Merida, Moana and Raya(I do kinda like the idea of Raya with a girl, just not Namaari). But we were so robbed of seeing Asha and the star boy(he is literally a staR so I don't doubt Disney would call him StaN or something like that, so his name is Stan from now on, I am gonna call him like that, is easier than star boy). Asha and Stan had the potential to be the next Tianaveen and Rapunzel&Eugene (I don't know their ship name). The concept arts are the cutest thing I have ever seen. Also "At All Costs" (bop) would have been a love song between the two!!! Them singing it man. The pain I will feel when I don't see them passionately sing it, very "I see the light" coded, in the actual movie. Somehow, now is not feminist for a strong female character to have a male partner by her side. Like...This doesn't make sense! You can be a strong female character and have a man at the same time! Have y'all forgotten Mulan and Shang? Anna and Kristoff? Ariel and Eric? Jasmine and Aladdin? (There are more examples and I could go on all day, but you got what I meant already) I hate Disney for throwing good ideas at the trash and playing safe just for money(like Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk said "it's a metaphor for capitalism"). And as the guy looked blonde with blue/green eyes in the arts I have seen, and Asha is a black latina, they lost the opportunity of having a biracial couple ACTUALLY DONE RIGHT (Pocahontas and John Smith don't count, he is a collonizer with the most common name in the world, she deserves so much better). Like, if the thing is show how inclusive you are by having a black latina female protagonist for little girls to see and feel represented in a good way, you could have increased that feeling by making someone fall in love for her. Little girls would feel like they are beautiful and desired/desireable in a positive way and that they worthy of being loved and love and be with whoever they want to be with, even someone who has a different skin color.
I am also mad because we could have seen Disney's first evil villain COUPLE with King Magnifico and his wife, the queen(still don't know her name, sorry). Can't you guys imagine the HITS, THE FIRST PLACE OF BILLBOARD HOT 100 WORTHY songs, they would proportionate us? Even if only one song, it would be enough for me. But someone thought having a female villain would be anti-feminist and they discarded an original and authentic idea, which is what Disney built its empire on the first place. Come on Disney minorities don't want to be portrayed as those unrealistic superior beings, they want to be portrayed as real human beings with emotions, struggles, qualities and flaws. Having an iconic female villain like you guys always had(like Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, Ursula, Mother Gothel, Lady Tremaine, etc) and set her up with an iconic male villain(like Gaston, Doctor Facilier, Shan Yu, Jafar, Hans, etc) it would have been top notch, god tier. King Magnifico and the queen could have been like the Gomez and Morticia of evil. You could address so many topics by it. Like the kingdom being ruled by evil would have been a great social critic of some politicians out there, for example. And we could have had an iconic final boss battle between Asha and Stan VS Magnifico and the queen.
Anyway, what I mean by this is that if someone has fanarts or just ANY CONTENT, of Asha and Stan, tag me, reblog this or comment, I don't care, just warn me, because they are my new obsession. I will also write a fanfic about this movie with these ideas, but only after I have watched the movie so until them, please feed my hyperfixation in Stasha (Star boy/Stan×Asha), I'm begging y'all

Constructive criticism: Raya and Wish (2023)
Ah yes, Raya and the last Dragon and Wish... and a bonus
Raya and the last Dragon
Taking place in the fictional country of Kumandra, based on Southeast Asian culture, the movie follows the warrior princess Raya as she seek the fabled last dragon to save her father and the land of Kumandra from evil spirits that are known as Druun.
Critics gave the film positive reviews; some critics praised the imagery and depth but criticized the limited Southeast Asian representation.
The movie is very good on a technical level, Visually impressive, fun characters and the story is good... until the third act.
It`s message doesn`t really fit into it`s narrative. It tries to fit a square shaped peg into a round hole.
If I could wish upon a star that I could travel back in time and do some changes to the script I would like to make one small change.
Namaari giving her "This is just as much your fault" speech and Raya acting as if she`s right
The biggest downside in this scene is Raya`s reaction to what Namaari says, looking at her own reflection in her sword as if to say: "My god, what have I become?"
How I would do it: Raya and Namaari fight. Raya gets the upperhand, disarms Namaari and is about to strike the final blow... but then she looks at what`s happening around them, the city is falling apart, killing Namaari is not gonna solve this. She drops her sword.
Raya: "My original plan was to steal the gem. It was Sisu who convinced me to talk to you. She believed in you. And for a moment... so did I."
Then she leaves to save what still can be saved of the people of Fang.
Namaari looks at her own reflection in one of her twin swords and has a "My god, what have I become?" moment.
I guess I could stop here, but I want to change one more scene.
Raya giving her gem piece to Namaari
In the scene where they are all in the pit trying to fight the druuns with their gem pieces and Raya realizes that they have to put the pieces together, it would be better if Namaari gave her piece to Raya before she gives her piece to Namaari.
Namaari would then step backwards and let the Druun take her. The others would then give their pieces to Raya, stand next to Namaari and be turned to stone. Raya tries to put the gem back together, nothing happens, she places herself between Namaari and the others (Tong, Boun, Little Noi and the Ongis), puts a hand on Tong`s arm and a hand on Namaari`s shoulder as if to form a bridge between the two. (Symbolism!)
Then the dragongem starts working, everyone gets unstoned, the dragons return, Kumandra is united and everyone`s happy.
The end.
Yes, I know. Raya needed to learn how to trust, but Namaari needed to show that she could be trusted.
Wish (2023)
Disney (the company that owns your childhood) was turning 100 years old and decided to give itself a big pat on the back by making an animated movie that would celebrate it`s legacy.
The film received mixed reviews, with praise directed towards the vocal performances, the animation and references to the wider Disney canon, but criticism levelled at the plotting, songs, and screenplay.
People were disappointed in Wish because it was supposed to be a milestone, the movie made to celebrate that the Disney animation studio has been around for 100 years! It just couldn`t live up to the hype. But if you take all the hype and great expectations out of the equation and just view it, not as this BIG thing it was intended to be, but just as the movie it is, it`s... just OK.
Later when the art book of the movie came out and people saw what could have been, many youtubers decided to do what I have been doing since 2015, and do a little constructive criticism of their own. With so many rewrites of Wish popping up on the internet and my own history of playing script doctor, it only seems logical that I too throw my hat in the ring and submit my own Wish rewrite.
So... if I had a fairy godmother who could Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo me back in time to when this movie was written, this is what I would change.
People willingly giving their wishes to Magnifico
It would have been better if Magnifico took peoples wishes from them without their knowledge. It would have made him a better villain. He could take peoples wishes when they are asleep.
Asha
I`d dial down her quirkiness a little. Personalitywise she could be an ambitious overachiever, a mix between Hermoine and Tiana, with an adorkable side.
Valentino
Does everything he says have to be something comical? I like jokes but not all of them landed. It was like his funniness was mandated. Dial down the number of jokes.
Some of the songs
It`s not that the songs are bad per se, some of them just don`t fit into the scenes where they are used, like "At all cost".
They should either have :
A: Given Julia Michaels more time and let her be more involved in the production. (Howard Ashman was very involved in the making of The Little Mermaid.)
or
B: Hired people experienced in musicals. Maybe the people who wrote the songs for Wicked, Hadestown or Hazbin Hotel?
Magnifico needing a book to be evil
The biggest problem this movie has is that it couldn`t decide if Magnifico should be a redeemable, three dimensional antagonist or a classic Disney Villain, so it did both and the results were underwhelming.
I would have made him a twist villain, but instead of waiting for the third act I would reveal it near the end of the first. He would be a charismatic leader, great at fooling people that he has their best interests at heart. In the end, his paranoia would get the better of him.
To Starboy or not to Starboy, that is the question.
At first I wasn`t gonna bother with the whole Starboy thing since it`s not really an issue. The movie`s biggest problem lies in how they wrote King Magnifico. However, a while ago I saw a video on youtube by ColeyDoesThings who talked about what the movie could have been if they had gone the Starboy route, and she made some compelling arguments. So for this rewrite I`ve decided to go with the Starboy idea.
Starboy`s personality could be a lot like Aladdin, a little bit like Peter Pan with a pinch of Ariel. (Why Ariel? Because similar to her, he wants to be where the people are, he wants to see, wants to see 'em dancin'. You know, all that stuff.) He would be a bit of a contrast to Asha.
I did not change Star becase I thought it was necessary, but because I thought it sounded interesting.
I would also make Hal and Bazeema gay and have them kiss eachother in the end.
Plot
Asha prepares to interview for the job of Magnifico's apprentice on the day of her grandfather Sabino's 100th birthday.
When Asha is around, her mother and Saba put on a happy face for her, when she leaves they become a bit apathetic. This is something that many people in Rosas over the age of 18 (who have had their wishes taken) do.
She leads tourists through the town as she sings about what an amazing place it is and what an awesome king they have in "Welcome to Rosas". She rehearses for her job interview with her friends,
There are three wishes that the king refuses to grant:
Wishes about killing people.
Wishes about making someone fall in in love with someone else.
Wishes about bringing people back from the dead.
If you wish to become a magician you`ll have to become the king`s apprentice (and you don`t have to be 18.)
Queen Amaya shows up and takes Asha to Magnifico. At first it goes a little shaky because she`s nervous but then it goes well and Magnifico thinks she is worthy to be his apprentice.
They sing a duet, but not "At all cost". It is a song about optimism and ambition, about what a great student/mentor team they`ll make. The chorus could go:
Magnifico: "With you as my student!"
Asha: "With you as my guide!"
Both: "Great things will happen with you by my side!"
Something like that.
The interview is over and Asha leaves Magnifico`s study.
She is excited. She gets to work with the king! The most awesome king in the world! She does a dorky little victory dance. Valentino shows up, he snuck into the castle with her. Asha starts chasing him, she doesn`t want him to break something expensive, she really wants this job!
Valentino sneaks in through a door to a big (and probably forbidden) room and knocks down an ancient scroll. Asha picks up the scroll to put it back where it was, then she notices the title: How to remove someone`s wish.
Remove? The king grants wishes, he doesn`t take them!
She tries to convince herself not to read it, it`s not meant for her eyes, it`s classified, but her curiosity gets the better of her. She reads in the scroll that the spell should not be used on people under the age of 18. The individual who has had their wish removed becomes docile and free of aspirations, and in some rare cases, even lethargic (just like Simon). They will feel like something is missing from their life but are not able to put their finger on what.
She refuses to believe this. This can`t be true! Magnifico wouldn`t do something like this! He`s a good king!... Right? There are magical orbs of light floating in the ceiling, she takes a ladder and climbs up so that she can get a better look at them. One of the orbs shows a woman that wishes she could fly, another a woman who wishes to sail the seas, another a man who wishes to climb a muntain, and one of the orbs shows... her Saba! It is true, the king takes peoples wishes from them!
She climbs down, puts the scroll back and leaves the room quietly with Valentino under her arm.
She`s about to leave the castle through the main gate when Magnifico shows up. He tells her that there will be a wish-granting ceremony later that evening and he wants her to be present. Asha is nervous, but not a "OMG! I`m meeting my hero!" kind of nervous, but a "Hope he doesn`t figure out that I went into a forbidden room and saw things I shouldn`t have seen" kind of nervous. He seems not to notice, but at soon as Asha leaves the room we see that he did.
Later that evening there`s a wish-granting ceremony, a woman gets her wish granted, the people cheer for Magnifico and Asha sits there next to the queen, stiff and nervous.
Later that night: Asha tries to tell her family the truth about Magnifico, but they don`t believe her. Distraught, Asha runs away and makes her own wish on a star as she sings "This wish". (Not a bad song, but it could have used better lyrics in some places.)
Starboy appears and surprises Asha who smacks him with her sketch-book. (Meet-cute!)
Magnifico senses Starboy's arrival and sees it as a threat to his power.
Starboy doesn`t really grant wishes per se. He`s only as helpful as giving the means, but it’s up to the wishmaker to put the work in order to have their wish fulfilled.
Starboy's magic brings the forest to life, giving voices to the animals, plants and Valentino. They sing "I`m a star", but with better lyrics. (No "we're all shareholders" or "Get that through your system. Solar!") Asha, Valentino, and Starboy embark on a mission to recover Sabino's wish. She wants to save all the wishes, but if she can only save one she`ll have to focus on Sabino`s.
Tension rises in Rosas, Magnifico makes a public appearence and promises a great reward for any information relating to the strange light phenomenon. This makes Simon react. The residents of Rosas begin questioning his rule for the first time. Magnifico gets uncomfortable, leaves and sings "This is the thanks I get" (But sinister, not upbeat, and no "I let you live here fo free and I don't even charge you rent"). Asha and Starboy takes not only Sabino`s wish but a few other wishes as well and uses Starboy`s cape as a sack.
Asha returns Sabino's wish and he is overjoyed to have his memories back and sings "A wish worth making", playing his lute. They get ready to take the sack with the other wishes and return them to their rightful owners when King Magnifico bursts into the family's home. He has been informed by a mole that Asha was responsible for Starboy's arrival. He crushes Sakina's wish as punishment, rendering her overcome with grief. Starboy tries to defend her and is spotted by Magnifico, who vows to capture him. Asha and her family flee with Starboy. Sakina can barely stand after what Magnifico did to her wish, so Starboy uses his magic to give her the strength to walk. In all the chaos they unfortunately leave the other wishes in their home, Magnifico takes them as his own. Sabino and Sakima hide somewhere safe while Asha goes back to Rosas to free the rest of the wishes.
Later, in Magnifico`s study: Simon enters and feels bad for selling out his friend, King Magnifico tells him that what he did was necessary for the safety of the kingdom and that Asha won`t be hurt. He turns Simon into a knight, not in a public wish-granting ceremony though, but right there in his study.
Later, a brainwashed Simon is walking the streets with the company of other knights, searching for Asha and the rest of her friends. Asha sees him and looks for a place to hide. She finds her friends` hideout, not because of Valentino`s butt, but because of his sense of smell. She rallies the rest of her friends, Queen Amaya shows up and joins them.
Asha and her friends start making a plan.
Later, in King Magnifico`s secret lab: King Magnifico has made a staff, Amaya shows up and tells him what Asha and her friends are planning.
Gasp! Queen Amaya is a villain! (Dun dun dunn!)
She and Magnifico sing an evil duet villain song which is kinda similar to "With you by my side".
Asha`s friends infiltrate Magnifico's study to open up the ceiling and free the wishes while Asha plans to distract Magnifico. She and Starboy hides in the woods, she is nervous, Starboy tries to comfort her, so they talk a little. The talking leads to feelings being revealed which leads to singing. They sing "At all costs" and dance a romantic dance, first on the surface of a lake, then high up in the sky. (Thanks to Starboy`s magic.) Starboy gives Asha a magic wand to use as he leaves to help her friends, he then notices that he is getting weaker. Magnifico arrives, he and Asha fights. Magnifico turns out to be Simon disguised with an illusion and he breaks Asha`s wand, Asha finds a way to knock him out using the environment to her advantage.
Her friends almost free the wishes but are betrayed by Queen Amaya. Starboy tries to stop her but she pulls out a dagger and threatens to kill one of Asha`s friends, Magnifico shows up and zaps Starboy with magical chains that he can`t break free from.
Asha returns to the city, is caught by Magnifico, finds Starboy in magical chains and finds out that Queen Amaya was just a mole. Magnifico darkens the sky with clouds so that the people won`t be able to wish on stars.
Asha (to Magnifico): "I believed in you! I thought you were a good king!"
Magnifico: "I`m not a good king. I`m a GREAT king!"
All hope seems lost, Asha starts to sing the reprise to "This wish", her friends and the people of Rosas join her and their singing makes Starboy strong enough to break free from his chains. The breaking of the chains creates a shockwave that knocks Asha, Amaya and Magnifico off the tower. Starboy, still weakened, only has enough strength to save one of them, so he saves Asha.
With Magnifico defeated, his spell powers down as a new day dawns over the kingdom, with the citizens, Asha's mother included, are able to get their wishes back, afterwards, Asha is soon confronted by a regretful Simon, who understands if she doesn`t want to forgive him, but she does as she understands why he did it.
Starboy keeps getting weaker and has to go back, he gives Asha a new wand and the two of them say good bye. She wonders if she`ll ever see him again, he tells her that he`ll be the second star to the right.
With urging from her friends, Asha promises to help others earn their wishes as a Fairy Godmother, aiding everyone in making their dreams come true.
Post-credit scene: One year later: Asha is walking to the wishing tree in her fairy godmother outfit. She walks past a grave stone. Sabino is sitting in the tree playing "When you wish upon a star" on his lute. A tear rolls down Asha`s cheek. After Sabino has played the song he disappears as if he was a ghost. We see that the grave stone that Asha walked past earlier was Sabino`s. She wipes away her tear, looks up at the second star to the right, takes out her wand and teleports to some place where she might be needed.
And that`s how I would do it. Not great but hopefully not bad.
I cut "Knowing what I know now" because it was getting a little tight between songs. It would be hard to fit that song, Magnifico and Amaya`s villain song and "At all costs" so close to each other, while still maintaining a good narrative flow.
At first I wasn`t gonna turn Queen Amaya evil because I couldn`t come up with enough evil stuff for her to do (that I could fit into the plot without making it worse). But then I made her a villain because it would make things harder for Asha and her friends, which would make the movie more interesting.
But like I said before, the movie`s biggest problem is not that the Queen wasn`t evil, but that the writers couldn`t pick a lane when deciding if they wanted to make Magnifico a three-dimensional antagonist or a classic Disney Villain.
And now... a Bonus
One more thing about Frozen 2
Turning Kristoff`s Lost in the woods into a cheesy 1980s rock ballad musicvideo
I was gonna have this in my Frozen 2 CC but forgot and didn`t remember until after I published it. Since I don`t wanna go back and edit it I`ll write it here.
This scene is admittedly entertaining and if you don`t care about tone as long as it`s entertaining it`s fine.
But funny songs works better for funny characters and what Kristoff is singing about feels sincere, which clashes with how the song is executed.
The 1980s rock sound: Lose it.
The visuals: Have Kristoff walking around in the woods, seeing things that, to him, looks like Anna: a pile of rocks, a pile of leaves, a cloud in the sky. Stuff like that.
Probably an unpopular opinion.
It is of course very easy for me to write these because I have the luxury of hindsight. And unlike the filmmakers I didn`t have a movie studio full of corporate suits breathing down my neck, focus grouping the movie to death, forcing in unnecessary changes and pressuring me to get it made before a deadline.
Why do I write these?
For several reasons. I`m nitpicky. Sometimes the movies I criticize aren`t bad, I just like my own ideas better. Sometimes the movies I critize are bad. I care about good storytelling and it`s a fun excerize in creativity and script doctoring.
But also because I have a lot of of free time.
---------------------------------------------
Other movies on my Constructive Criticism list that you can look forward to
Supergirl (1984) Jonah Hex (2010) Dragonball evolution The Spirit (2008) The Dark Knight trilogy
And as usual: English is not my first language, so if my writing doesn`t seem to flow naturally, you know why.

It’s been eons since anyone has talked about an actors au BUT what if Sisu like switched Raya’s script out and gave her a fake bc she was tired of the obvious Rayaari pining:
Raya, acting out the scene where they get encompassed by Druun: then let me take the first step *puts the gem in Namaari’s hand*
Namaari: *looking at Raya with tears in her eyes*
Raya, internally hyping herself up: *okay, just a quick kiss scene! It’s only supposed to last a couple seconds! You’ve kissed people on and off screen before, shouldn’t be that different even though you feel completely weak in the knees*
Namaari: *fully expecting Raya to just step back into the shadows*
Raya: *uses both hands to cup Namaari’s face and kisses her*
Namaari: *very surprised but immediately kisses back, dropping the gem to wrap her arms around Raya*
Director: damn it, this is a really good shot. Really sucks that we can’t use it. CUT!
Raya, pulling away: hey what’s wrong with my kiss?!
Namaari: *is simply happy*
Director: Raya, I love the improv and it was a great scene, but this is a Disney movie! If we pull this shit the whole movie will get canceled. Remember the birdhouse? Remember?
Raya: okay one, it’s the Owl House and two, it was in the script!
Namaari, raising an eyebrow: our characters kissing isn’t in the script
Raya: yes it is
Namaari, grinning: if you wanted to kiss me so bad, you could have just asked
Raya, glaring with bright red cheeks: not everything’s about you undercut! It was in the script!
Namaari: oh? So you don’t want to kiss me?
Raya, huffing: I never said that. Look, I’ll prove it to you! *pulls out the script from her bag and shoved it at Namaari*
Namaari: huh. Yeah. Raya’s script looks normal accept a kiss scene is added between our characters. Hey Tong, Boun, your scripts didn’t have a kiss at any point did they?
Tong: nope!
Boun: nothing for me either!
Raya: that’s so weird. Because I remember Sisu- *realizes* excuse me for just one moment. I’m gonna run an errand
Tong, after Raya left: well at least you two finally got together! I’ve been putting you two on a boat for months!
Namaari: you mean shipping us?
Tong: I like the boat thing better
Namaari: well I’ve been putting us in a boat too
*Sisu’s apartment*
Sisu: *just watching TV because she didn’t have to film at all today*
Raya, who has a key: SISU IM GONNA KICK YOUR ASS
Sisu, not even looking away from the TV: so when are you and Namaari going on a date
Raya:…………this Sunday
Sisu: and what do we say when friends help you confess to the girl you like?
Raya:……….thank you. I’m still gonna kick your ass though
Sisu: fair enough *jumps up and runs away*

I grew up with the Harry Potter books so part of me couldn't help but imagine the RATLD characters in this world
Raya: In short, she is a Gryffindor
Namaari: Slytherin but I think it could be partly because of the family it comes from
Boun: he would be a Hufflepuff (plus his dorm is near the kitchen)
Tong: he was a Hogwarts student and a member of Gryffindor house
Noi: She's still a baby but I think she has characteristics that could be of a Ravenclaw
Pengu: he would be a Ravenclaw
Sisu: she has a Hufflepuff vibes
Jagan and Pranee: I feel like they would be Slytherin
Amba: she would probably be a Gryffindor
------------->
It's clear that Raya and Namaari would have the classic rivalry not only because of the houses they came from but also because they were quidditch players, although that doesn't mean they get along badly they are just very competitive
Sisu probably met them by chance when she tried to avoid a conflict between the two that in the end ended up with all three being punished
Boun despite being several grades younger got along well with Raya and Sisu as he asked them for help in locating some common areas and classrooms
Tong is the owner of a store in Hogsmeade, he met the group(Raya, Sisu and Namaari) when they went to his store out of curiosity
After telling them about his adventures involving magical creatures, the gang visits to his store became more regular
just to clarify, I don't agree with JK's comments, it's just that I recently watched one of the movies and felt a bit nostalgic

An honest review of Raya and The Last Dragon
Plot-wise, it was well done. Sure, there were some cliche tropes that my autistic pattern recognition skills could spot a mile away, but the plot flowed smoothly with no noticeable holes. Things did move very quickly, but it's a kids' movie. It's not supposed to drag on.
Character development? Well done. Each character had a very realistic personality and set of motivations.
Character design? Really good when it comes to human designs. It's the perfect blend of cartoonish and realistic. Also I like the outfits. The dragons on the other hand look like My Little Pony heads slapped onto very graceful dragon bodies. I had to laugh at the moment when Sisu roars at Namaari. That did not look one bit menacing.
Worldbuilding? Beautiful. I'm no expert on Southeast Asian culture and architecture by any means, so I'm not sure how much research the team actually did. And I am a little iffy about Disney creating yet another fictional world based on a conglomeration of several real cultures like they did with Moana instead of just having the movie take place in a real-world location, but hey, nothing about it seemed offensive on the surface. Southeast Asians, please elaborate for me in the comments: how was the worldbuilding?
Music? Same deal. See above. It did sound pretty, but again, I know nothing about the culture.

k so before i hop in the shower. with the new princesses of heart in kh, we have four confirmed:
kairi again
rapunzel
elsa
anna
now we can just like. ASSUME that they’ll add moana and make her a princess of heart. that’s like a 99.999999% chance. also she already had a medal and costume in ux so yeah that’s happening. that’s 5!
we can also assume they’re gonna add tiana. cause why the fuck would they not??? that’s 6
we still got mèrida as an official DP but i like. don’t think she fits the vibe?? i feel like she’d be more like ariel, in the lineup but not a princess of heart or w/e
so we’re still missing one. here’s my thoughts on who could be princess of heart #7 in order of how fucking hilarious it would be
Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas) – we’ve already seen her several times but now she has a promotion
Esmeralda (Hunchback of Notre Dame) – same reasoning as Sally
Kida Nedakh (Atlantis) – please
Giselle (Enchanted) – hyperrealistic amy adams
Mirabel Madrigal (Encanto) – she’s like “okay so like. i’m a special princess??” “yeah, i know it’s a lot to take in–” “and it’s NOT isabela?????” “...no?” “oh i am gonna rub this in her face forEVER”
alternate: it’s not mirabel OR isabela it’s luisa or dolores. just throw people off
Elena of Avalor – imagine them making a disney junior show canon
Raya (Raya and the Last Dragon) – she is literally the princess of a kingdom called Heart like come on
Sisu (Raya and the Last Dragon) – would track with the “pure of heart” thing ig. also imagine them just saying the comic relief is now the princess of heart
Namaari (Raya and the Last Dragon) – the princess of a kingdom that is NOT heart but also she has a big gay crush on the heart princess this would give her so many crises
Maid Marian (Robin Hood) – furry world
Roxanne – furry world AND we have to do an entire goofy movie plot
Naminé or Xion – would make me cry
Wendy (Peter Pan) – she’s finally one of the chosen ones
Jane (Peter Pan) – grabbed the wrong darling girl, hook, can you believe
Lilo or Nani (Lilo & Stitch) – whichever sister it would be it would be really funny to see how stressed nani gets over it
Kiara (The Lion King) – 1) from a direct-to-video sequel, 2) a fucking lion
Melody (The Little Mermaid) – ariel’s not a princess of heart but her daughter is
Gabriela (The Little Mermaid) – ariel’s not a princess of heart but this one-off breakout character from the tv show is
Boo (Monsters Inc) – she is literally two fucking years old
Penny (The Rescuers) – just this random baby from an obscure disney movie. jenny from oliver and company is also acceptable
Mei Lee (Turning Red) – the princesses of heart are all actual royalty except for this 13yo canadian girl from 2002 who can turn into a panda when she’s mad
Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron) – disney refuses to acknowledge this movie’s existence but then they put it in kingdom hearts and make it relevant to the story
Ortensia – imagine they finally get oswald into the main story and it’s bc his wife has magic heart powers and heartless wont leave them alone
Anastasia – disney finally delivers the killing blow on the “anastasia is not disney” crowd. sorry guys we bought 20th century fox she’s ours now lol
Sofia the First – come on. tell me it wouldnt be funny. come on
Jessica Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) – it would make so many people mad

Why Wish wound up the way it did; my opinion
I just feel like pointing something out. I really hope no one feels like I'm being accusatory. Because I understand that the woke movement and the left are very needed and they've accomplished great things and helped America come a long way. Personally, I'm glad they further normalized being gay. As an afro-latina bisexual woman, it means a lot to me. It's because of the woke movement that Disney decided to give us something like 'Wish'.
It goes all the way back to Frozen. I dunno how many of you were here when Frozen came out but people were angry that Anna and Elsa weren't people of color. When others said it was because it took place in Norway, leftists responded that this wasn't a good enough excuse. People also complained about the straight romance between Anna and Kristoff. Because the left was tired of straight romances in the media.
Now let's fast forward to 2021. We get Raya, who had no official love interest but very obviously has a LOT of sexual tension with Namaari. Who, for those of you who don't know, is a female character. After that came Strange World. The only 'romance' we get are Ethans straight parents and Disney's first openly gay main character; Ethan.
And now we get Wish. A movie that takes place in a fictional kingdom where, clearly, it was inspired by the look of a European country. BUT they still gave us a non-white main princess. Which, as I mentioned before, was exactly what the people complaining about Frozen were asking for. Some might argue that it should've taken place in Africa. But that's not what people were saying when Frozen was getting dunked on. The message was clearly "we want characters of color in white/European settings."
I've also heard people griping that the original script of Wish where Star was a Jack Frost-esque male character, meant to be Asha's love interest, sounded like a better story to them. But, ya'll, Disney was never going to let that story fly. Because according to the woke crowd; straight romances are out and gay ones are in. So ofc they scrapped the romance altogether.
I still liked Wish, the music especially. But I feel like we got what we got because Disney is trying as hard as they can to serve the woke crowd. Whether or not that's a bad thing is up to you to decide.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Raya and the Last Dragon Rating: Teen Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Namaari/Raya Characters: Raya, Sisu, Namaari Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Modern, Rock Climbing, Crack, is it enemies if only one of them thinks that? Summary: No matter what Sisu says, Raya is not interested. I mean, sure, she has eyes, anyone can see how hot Namaari is, and how unfair it is for her muscles to be able to lift her so easily up these walls, but she’s annoying and rude and no, nothing’s going to happen. Ever.
Note: this fic uses a variety of rock climbing jargon throughout, so I've made a glossary related to the terms for any non-climbers out there.
Raya frowns at the wall bearing the V5 that might be the end of it all. If she didn’t top this today what even was the point of climbing? Deep in her heart, she knows she’s being facetious, but this stupid problem felt like the death of her and any motivation.
It was a V5 for fuck’s sake. She could do it. She’d done four V6s! Though honestly this probably should have been graded as a V8. Or they could keep it as a V5 with a notice that you needed to be a certain height. Could they grade based on height?
She rolls her shoulders and tries to relax her sore muscles. She could not figure out a beta to push past the crux without completely destroying the feeling in her arms. Dyno-ing was out of the question, she had to keep tension with her other arm or she’d slide down the wall like a wet rag, and she did not want to end up with a tweaked ankle.
Stupid crux. Stupid wall. Stupid climbing.
“Still determined to top this one?”
“Yeah,” Raya nods at Sisu and sighs, “I know I can, and it’s the last week.”
Sisu nods, “You know, we aren’t meant to top every boulder.”
“Speak for yourself.”
Sisu rolls her eyes, “Raya.”
“I know,” Raya sighs, “But I know I can do this one. Believe me.”
Sisu nods and sits with Raya as she stares. Maybe a figure four? No, that wouldn’t work, the hold was not good enough and would that even give her the reach?
“What’s dripping, dep la?” A voice echoes from behind them and Raya jerks back, frowning.
“Namaari,” Raya grunts.
“This one giving you problems?” Namaari gestures towards the wall. “I thought you could do V6s.”
“It was mislabeled, it’s a V8.” Raya shoots back.
Namaari raises her eyebrows as Sisu sighs next to her.
“Hmmm,” Namaari looks at it. “You don’t mind if I try it?”
“Go ahead, the mat is cushy enough for your hard head.”
Namaari chalks up her hands and takes a position at the start. Her hands flex and then she lifts up.
It was a power boulder, not Raya’s favorite, focusing mostly on pure strength, and she can’t help but admire the way Namaari’s arms bulge as she completes the first two moves. She stills on the hold Raya was stuck on, and Raya bites her lip to keep from smiling too widely, ignoring the heat of Sisu’s disapproving glare.
Namaari’s head tilts down, as if another foothold would magically appear, and then, Raya can see her arms and back straining, Namaari sticks out her leg and smears her foot into the wall. Raya sucks in a breath as Namaari reaches and grabs the next hold.
Raya barely watches as Namaari finishes the last move, just blinking as Namaari lands heavily on the mat, face contorted into a smirk.
“Not sure why you think it’s a V8, I just flashed it.”
“You fucking binturi.”
“Do you think I’m not good enough to flash a V8?”
“I hate you.”
Sisu sighs heavily beside her and Raya releases the hold she has on her chalk bag. Namaari grins and waves as she walks away.
She hates that Namaari could just do it. Hates her stupid muscles that can pull her up so easily, her extra length that can reach the stupid hold, she hates how good Namaari looks with her muscles straining and the stupid smirk on her unfortunately beautiful face.
But mostly, she hates that Namaari smearing had given her an idea for a new beta. And she hates it even more when she tops the problem by the end of the day.
Fucking Namaari.
As she leaves the gym, she can’t help but notice that Namaari is struggling with a V5 of her own on the slab wall. Raya looks at it for a minute, only turning away when she thinks Namaari might see her staring, and huffs out to her car.
At least she sent it before they changed that wall.
Raya hasn’t been climbing for long. Relatively speaking.
When Sisu announced she was leaving her old yoga studio, Raya had been overjoyed. She’d been telling her to quit for months, ever since her old manager left and the new one was prone to such niceties as posting the schedule a couple hours before the first shifts would start or demanding you bring in a doctor’s note when you were calling out sick. The worst had been when they were two hours down the road on a long weekend trip and she had started calling Sisu incessantly because Sisu was “missing” her shift despite Sisu asking for it off weeks ago.
Raya had turned the car back, mostly because Sisu looked like she was going to cry and she didn’t want to add to her stress (even if they were not going to get a refund), but had sat down with her later and told her she would help her find a new studio. Sisu had eventually found one herself, a month later, and Raya had found herself across from her for celebratory drinks after Sisu gave her notice and babbled about her new job.
“And I’m excited because it’s not just yoga there’s a gym and all the climbing stuff too and they said they’ll teach me about it.”
“Wait, climbing stuff?” Raya placed down her drink.
“Yeah, it’s a climbing gym.”
Raya frowned as her brain struggled to compute, “Like for adults?”
Sisu shrugged, “I’m pretty sure kids go too, but not like on their own.”
“How many adults go there?” Raya frowned.
“I don’t know, but it was pretty busy when I interviewed.”
“Really? Climbing? Like jungle gyms and stuff? Are there competitive monkey bars I’ve never heard of?”
Sisu stared at her for a long moment and then burst out laughing, “Oh Raya, no! Rock climbing! Up walls and stuff.”
“Oh,” Raya mumbled as her cheeks burned red. At college there’d been a rock climbing wall attached to the school gym, which had been cool she supposed, she’d never tried it. “There's a whole gym just for that?”
“Yeah,” Sisu said, “Though they offer yoga classes and they have some exercise equipment. Mostly free weights but I’m pretty sure there were some treadmills and stuff.”
“Huh.”
“I’ll show you when you come, you’ll come to one of my classes right?”
“Of course!” Raya agreed easily. It was practically a tradition for Raya to come to her first class at a new studio.
“Awesome! And I’ll see if you can join me when they try to teach me to climb.”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” Sisu said, “I mean, I’d rather have someone else there without a clue. And in case I need the hospital after breaking my leg.”
“Thanks,” Raya bit back a laugh.
And the rest was, well not history, but Raya had joined her for the training session and found it more fun than she ever could have guessed.
It helped, Raya knew, that she was good at it. Sure, she didn’t (and still doesn’t) know all the techniques, but the first problems she felt like she was born to climb (and then her hands had started to hurt, the skin feeling tender and rough anytime she tried to grip a hold. The route setter who was teaching them had insisted that if she came back enough times that would soon fade and instead she’d be feeling the tendons in her hands instead of the skin. It hadn’t been as encouraging as she thought he meant it to be, but he’d been right).
The route setter hadn’t been impressed, they were only on the baby of baby difficulties, but he’d remarked that she was one of the fastest he’d seen catch on (and she hoped that didn’t just reflect his abilities as a teacher). She was only half sure that he wasn’t just flattering her.
She’d learned that the climbing version of gym bros mostly consisted of shirtless guys who half yelled as they made difficult moves and seemed to think the best way to get someone's attention was to climb a hard problem right in front of them and not say a word.
So, Raya found herself with a membership pass that really felt too expensive to justify, even with Sisu’s friends and family discount, and started heading to the gym half the days of the week after work. It was her first time as an adult regularly exercising (which she didn’t want to think too hard about) and the bonuses of seeing Sisu most of the time were as good as the muscle definition she was slowly gaining.
And, she’d made some sorta friends.
There was Noi, practically a baby who Raya wasn’t sure should be allowed to climb without a spotter, but was somehow better than all of them. Buon, a nice teenager who had kindly requested her to spot him on a bat-hang problem and they had been friendly ever since. Tong, an older man who grew up climbing outside, but now his “bones and joints were catching up with him” and he preferred to climb where there was easier access to medical attention. Not that Raya had ever seen him need it. And of course, there was Namaari.
Namaari and her had met at an Intro to Technique class around Raya’s fourth month climbing and Raya had thought that they would be great friends.
And it had been great, Raya was certain that she’d made a new friend (one of her first as a full blown adult), until Namaari cut in front of her and beta sprayed one of her projects. She’d even smiled at Raya, like she didn’t know exactly what she was doing. Raya had refused to climb that one again, even though it would have been her first V4.
She’d heard of beta spraying of course, it was part of the the lingo that Sisu’s route setting coworker had given them, but she hadn’t experienced it until Namaari stood behind her with arms crossed and a petulant frown, demanding, “What?”
They hadn’t gotten along ever since.
And since then, maybe Raya hadn’t been the most polite (but she’d only admit that under oath), but it wasn’t like Namaari was so nice either. And so what if she was here earlier than she normally would be working on the slab she’d seen Namaari on.
It was just fair game.
She estimates she has about 30 minutes before Namaari arrives. She loves slab, the balancing and flexibility challenges her (and she hopes improves her technique) and didn’t beat her down like the power boulders Namaari favored. She was strong, yes, but those ones seemed to constantly destroy every little muscle she did and didn’t know she had. It’s like they were there just to mock her and her muscles.
This one looked tricky, the crimps were terrible and pretty chalked up, and one foothold halfway up looked like a surefire way to bang a knee into the wall and walk away with a bruised ego and kneecap. She’d hopped on it a couple times the last two sessions when Namaari hadn’t been around, but Namaari had shown up not long after and she hadn’t really gotten anywhere as she scurried to find a problem in the opposite direction.
The start wasn’t so bad, and Raya brushes her hands into her chalk bag as she lets out a breath. She knew she should try to plan each move before hopping on the wall, but she didn’t have the patience (or in her opinion, the skill). Hell, she was still learning to not rush into a problem and actually take a moment to look at where all the holds were and guess at a basic path and what the crux was.
Raya takes a deep breath, rolling her shoulders as she steps up, grabs the starting holds, and begins.
Oh.
Gravity deposits her on her butt and she stares at the sneakily slippery footholds. So maybe she shouldn’t have assumed that the start was easy just because she’d managed it last time. With a huff and a quick glance to make sure no one was waiting for the problem, she stands back up and approaches the holds.
It takes her two more tries to get the starting move, and then she flows through, concentrating on driving power to her toes. She balances and releases a breath, before falling to the left to get to the next hold.
She grins as she catches herself, adjusting her feet as she clings to the crimp that she knows she’ll be feeling in her fingers all tomorrow. She switches her feet, hopping slightly and digging in as if they could suddenly find more surface area on the hold.
And then she’s sliding.
Down.
She’s flat on her back and staring at the ceiling, blinking while her breath escapes in uneven puffs as her heart hammers against her chest.
She’s okay.
Nothing is screaming and she lifts her head and lets out a relieved sigh when she doesn’t see anyone staring at her. She half crawls away, scooting until there’s plenty of room between her and the wall, and clutches at her chest as she takes deep, even breaths. She didn’t hit the wall on the way down, her ankles feel fine, and the only thing pulsing is her heart. She focuses on breathing as she watches a climber on a V1 about twenty feet down the wall.
It feels crazy that she was in the exact same position a year and a half ago. She resists yelling something encouraging as the girl stares at the hold that’s within reach but requires her to switch feet, leaving one dangling without a place to put it, and watches as the girl slowly climbs back down.
Raya had started fairly fearless, she figured there were nice mats all around, and it wasn’t like it could be that dangerous or the gym would have been sued to bankruptcy. And then, about a month into climbing, within a span of a week, she’d seen one person on the ground, their foot bent unnaturally and she’d jumped from the top of the wall and banged her knee against her chest and her whole body had freaked out a little.
She hadn’t been hurt, just gotten a bruise on her chest that wasn’t even big enough to show off. But the next week everytime she made it past halfway and didn’t feel absolutely secure, her heart had pounded and her hands had sweat and she’d bailed on problem after problem.
Sisu had been the one who convinced her to spend a whole day practicing falling. Climb a little higher each time and just let go. It had helped, even if Raya felt like an idiot the whole time.
She still got nervous at the top, and on a couple routes that had dicey moves on the last holds, she just decided that her top was the holds before. Climbing was just for fun, she wasn’t going to do something that could get her seriously injured just for what, a little pride?
Raya stands and rolls her shoulders, trying to get relaxed. She can get to the crux, and, glancing at the clock, she still had plenty of time to figure it out. She hopes.
She walks to the bottom and carefully starts the problem again. Flowing through the lower moves easily and she grins as she gets to the place she fell. With a loud exhale, she drives her hips towards the wall as she lets go to grab the next hold, and pulls up her next foot to a crimpy handhold. It gives her just enough stability to drive upwards and reach the next.
With a pounding heart, she scrambles up the last two holds and whoops as she clutches the top of the wall. Raya drops down and grins.
She’s got this.
She looks back over at the girl on the V1 and grins as the girl makes it past the hold she’d stopped on and reaches for the finishing hold, clutching it with a smile of her own. Raya flashes her a thumbs up as she drops down, a thrilled flush to her, and then turns back to the problem.
She’ll do this one more time just to make sure she’s got it, and then she’ll work on some others. She doesn’t want to try it in front of Namaari today, her fingers are already aching a bit and she does want to give the underhang V6 another go, but this week, she’ll show Namaari exactly how it’s done.
Namaari doesn’t need to know it wasn’t a flash.
Two days later, Raya is trying to not stare at the door. She’s finished her own warmups and is half-heartedly working on the overhang that’s still haunting her, but she’s not trying that hard, mostly solidifying the first couple moves to keep her fingers relatively fresh.
“Who are you looking for?”
Sisu appears out of nowhere and Raya clutches her heart, “Sisu! I could have fallen if I was on the wall.”
“But you weren’t.”
“Don’t scare me like that.”
Sisu rolls her eyes. “Your crush walked in five minutes ago.”
“Namaari isn’t my crush!”
Sisu raises one eyebrow. “And yet you knew I was talking about Namaari.”
She skitters away with a grin and Raya clenches her fists. That damn, fuck, why was she friends with her again? She looks back at the overhang and watches a shirtless guy fall off on the second move. Fucking Sisu. And fucking Namaari.
She makes one more attempt before looking around the gym and finds Namaari warming up. She climbs down from a V1 and immediately moves on to a V2, and once she finishes that a V3. Raya watches as she hops down from that and then makes her way over the slab wall, and Raya whips her head back to overhang when she sees Namaari’s face turn towards her.
Just be cool, Raya thinks to herself, be cool and go over there in a few minutes after she tries it again. You can do it and no one will know you practiced it. She takes a minute to gather her things, fumbling uselessly with her chalk bag before she takes a deep breath and stands.
She watches as Namaari starts on the problem, and saunters over. She’s ten feet away when Namaari’s foot slips out from under her on a tiny foothold about a third of the way up the wall.
“Ouch,” Raya says, trying not to notice how nice Namaari looks on the ground.
“Raya,” Namaari says shortly.
“What is this?” Raya asks, “A V2?”
“Ha ha.” Namaari says shortly, her eyes darting to the tag that clearly states V6. “If you think it’s so easy why don’t you do it?”
“It’d be my pleasure,” Raya grins and as she turns away from Namaari’s stupid, binturi face. She grimaces once her face is hidden. My pleasure? Why the fuck did she say that?
Namaari scoots out of the way, “By all means.”
Raya makes it a production, wiping her shoes and bathing her hands in chalk. With another deep breath, she carefully grabs the starting holds and lifts herself up.
For a second, her body tries to fall, and Raya bites her lip as she reminds herself that she can do this. She’s done it twice already.
She reaches for the first hold, keeping her hips tight to the wall, and as her fingers dig into the crimp, her body remembers. Reaching and driving and grabbing and pulling, and she’s at the top of the wall, clutching it with both hands.
She turns her head slightly, smirking at the gobsmacked face of Namaari, and she drops, not bothering to downclimb at all.
“Are you sure it wasn’t a V2?” Namaari’s sitting and Raya looks down at her, hands on her hips.
“What? How? Did?” Namaari can’t form a complete sentence and Raya kneels down so they are face to face.
“Slab really isn’t your speed is it?”
“I, two weeks! You!” Namaari sputters.
Raya grins before standing and walking away, waving as she calls out, “I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Eventually.”
She looks back one last time.
Namaari still hasn’t closed her mouth.
Raya plops down onto the mat, breathing heavily and her heart racing. She needs a break or she might tweak her wrist again. Or strain her tendons. She focuses on getting her breathing back to a manageable rate and gulps as she sees Namaari midway up a power boulder. Her body could be used in an anatomy class, each muscle proudly on display as Namaari shifted and reached.
Was it really fair for her to be wearing that tight of a tank top?
Raya pulls at her shirt, was it hot in here?
“You’re drooling.”
Raya slams her mouth closed and wipes fruitlessly at her chin, “Shut up Sisu.”
Sisu laughs beside her, “You checked!”
Raya huffs and crosses her arms, watching as Namaari locks herself into position.
God, she was thirsty.
Why didn’t she bring a water bottle? Raya fans herself and debates whether she should get up and drag herself to one of the water fountains.
“You know, if you asked I’m sure she’d top you!”
“Sisu!” Raya lets out a gasp of outrage, “I do not. I. That is not! Anything! NO!”
“Hmm your silence speaks volumes.”
“This isn’t silence! What part of that was silence?!”
Raya turns her head back to the wall just to see Namaari jumping down from the top. Fuck, she missed it.
“Raya, my dear friend, if you looked at me like that I would already be in your bed.” Sisu whispers into her ear.
“Sisu!” Raya yells and then hisses, “I do not want to fuck her!”
“So why don’t you ask her out?”
“Cause she’s a bitch!” Raya says, maybe a little too loud if the turned heads were any indication.
“That’s a lot of staring for disliking her. Besides you don’t need to like someone to fuck ‘em.”
“Just because Namaari is,” Raya waves her hand out.
“Hot.”
“An extremely capable climber.”
“Oh my god,” Sisu says, “Are you fucking with me?”
“What?!”
“You’re hopeless, okay? Just go over, get under her, away from here, and hopefully that will solve all your guys' weird tension.”
“We don’t have weird tension! I just don’t like her!”
Sisu just stares at her until she finally pats her on the shoulder, “Oh honey. Methinks this is too much protesting for the celibate.”
“I’m not celibate!” Raya hisses back, “It may have been a little while.”
“A little while,” Sisu mocks and Raya regrets ever telling Sisu anything about her (lack) of a sex life. “Come on, I’m sure she’s quite capable in things other than climbing.”
Raya pinches her nose, “Her skills aren’t even as good as mine.”
“Raya,” Sisu cackles, “You truly are a disaster lesbian.”
“Hey! That’s not! I meant climbing!”
Sisu just laughs.
“Shut up,” Raya stands. She’s rested enough.
“Oooh, Namaari started up again.”
Raya whips around so fast her hair smacks her in the face to see Namaari still sitting on the map, telegraphing moves as she stares up at the wall. Sisu’s bent over laughing and Raya storms off, flipping Sisu off behind her.
Raya struggles with the third move and drops to the mat with a sigh of frustration. She crawls, undignified, out of the way so other people could get on the wall and debates whether any of this was worth it.
She huffs as her eyes track Namaari, working on a problem across the gym that started with a tricky dyno. Raya swallows as Namaari’s back flexes and she wheels back and launches herself forward, flying through the air with slightly too much momentum as her hands grip at the hold and try to slow herself to no avail. She lands heavily onto the mat, a thump that she can hear from here.
Raya winces and stands, only to sit back down as Namaari sat up, clapping her hands in frustration. Tong helps her to her feet and nudges her shoulder that, from personal experience, Raya knows is always a little harder than he means it, and soon Namaari is chuckling at whatever he’s saying.
Raya just makes a note of the problem and turns back to her own.
So what if she’d been doing that these past three weeks. Making a special note of the boulder Namaari ended on and then figuring out how to do it in the time before Namaari arrived at the gym? And maybe leaving work early one day to have enough time on a really tricky V7 slab that had taken her a week to figure out (which had been only her second V7 that she’s ever topped)? And then finishing it right in front of Namaari’s face?
She would have stopped, if Namaari didn’t flash every power boulder that she was working on. And sure, Raya had seen Namaari top a V8 once, but she’d worked on that one basically since it was put up till the walls changed. So it wasn’t a surprise she could power through the V6’s that were the bane of her existence but it was still a V6 for fuck’s sake.
And she was the beta sprayer! It was only fair she had something to rub Namaari’s face into.
Last Friday, Raya watched as Namaari breezed through a V5 that Raya was pretty sure was impossible if you weren’t well over 6 feet.
It wasn’t like Raya was saying that she flashed the coordination problem that she’d seen Namaari try over and over again. She just wasn’t saying she hadn’t. It wasn’t her fault that Namaari assumed that she was.
Her eyes drift back to Namaari, pointing and talking through the holds with Tong, and it really was unfair how her arms looked just standing there. She wasn’t even flexing! Raya bit her lip and then dragged her eyes back to her own problem before Sisu could catch her.
Raya nods at Pengu as she checks in, looking around to try to find Sisu. She’d been here earlier during her usual time, but her manager had called about twenty minutes into the session and she’d had to go back to work. Sisu promised her drinks after her own shift ended, and after eating dinner, Raya had enough time that she figured she’d just fill the rest with a couple attempts of that stupid V7 while she waited for Sisu to get off.
Sisu is nowhere to be seen, so after she changes her shoes, she beelines to the V7 that was certainly going to make her lose her sanity.
“What the fuck?!”
Raya freezes as she sees Namaari halfway up, shaking out one of her arms as she looks up to the top of the wall. Namaari’s head whips around and her eyes widen as she sees her, and she drops down clumsily, face growing rapidly redder.
“Raya,” Her voice sounds weak and Raya marches right in front of her.
“You!” Raya points a finger at her, all the breath missing from her lungs.
“You’re here late,” Namaari says sheepishly.
“Were you working on my problem!” Raya demanded as she took a step closer. “When I wasn’t here?!”
“Um,” Namaari licks her lips, eyes darting everywhere but Raya’s face, “Yeah? But it’s not like you have ownership over the problems! Anyone can climb them!”
Raya shakes her head, “I know that! But what? You were going to pretend to flash it when I was here?”
“Uh,” Namaari’s voice stutters, “No?”
“That sounded like a question.”
Namaari lets out a heavy breath and closes her eyes. Raya stares at her for a moment, breathless for a different reason until Namaari opens her eyes again and shrugs, “Fine, maybe I was going to imply that, okay?”
“I can’t believe you,” Raya rears back and then pinches her nose, “Who do you think you are? Like what the hell?”
“Um.”
“That’s all you have to say?” Raya yells and turns away.
“I was just trying to keep up!” Namaari scrambles up and Raya hates her a little more as she is forced to minutely tilt her head up to look at her. “You kept flashing all of mine!”
“So what? You cheated and lied?!”
The room was silent and Raya suddenly felt the eyes of every single person in the climbing gym on them.
“Oh come on!” Sisu calls, “Raya you’ve been doing the exact same thing!”
Namaari’s eyebrows raise and Raya takes a step back. When had they gotten so close? “Sisu!”
Sisu stares at both of them with hands on her hips,  “You’re both frauds working on the other’s problems when they aren’t here and pretending to flash them. It’s the weirdest form of flirting I’ve ever seen.”
“We aren’t flirting!”
“That’s not flirting!”
Namaari and Raya yell at the same time.
Sisu rolls her eyes, “Whatever, please skip to the part where you guys realize you’re being ridiculous and just k-”
“OKAY!” Raya cuts her off.
Namaari frowns between them. “You really do that?”
Raya’s mouth flutters open and closed. She sighs, “Yeah.”
They stare at each other until Namaari starts to laugh.
“What’s so funny?”
Namaari could barely get the words out in between laughs, “We’re- so- stupid- doing- the- same thing!”
Raya finds herself joining Namaari’s contagious laughter, “I guess so.”
The few people around them give them a wide berth as they laugh. Raya wipes away a tear and shakes her head at Namaari, “You did it first!”
“Not on purpose!” Namaari held up her hands, “I had done that one earlier that day and I thought it would be funny. But then you kept flashing my projects and I wanted to keep up.”
“Oh,” Raya feels all the fight fall out of her, “Um. Well, then.”
They both avoided each other’s gaze. “I guess we could,” Raya says, “If you really wanted to. Climb together.”
“Um yeah,” Namaari rubs the back of her neck, “We could do that.”
“Great job lesbians,” Sisu said and Raya whips her head to find her still standing there looking much too amused, “I’m off in thirty!”
“I know!” Raya calls back and watches as she thankfully walks away.
Raya was prepared for an awkward climbing session after Sisu slinks off. Thirty minutes of them milling around together and trying to not smirk at the other’s mistakes and then they’d forget the whole thing had ever happened and maybe change their climbing schedules so they never saw each other again.
Instead, Namaari works on the V7 as Raya warms up and then takes a step back and allows Raya to climb and doesn't laugh when Raya can’t make it past the second move.
“Do you want advice?” Namaari hovers behind her after Raya has crawled away from the wall.
“No.” Raya grunts out.
Namaari nods and then makes her attempt, and Raya bites her tongue to keep from saying anything as Namaari goes double the distance and to what Raya was pretty sure is the crux. She hangs there, her arms bulging, and wow, it really was amazing close up, and Raya wishes she has her waterbottle and oh fuck, she’s looking back, she’s looking-
“Is my foot close to the foothold?”
Raya almost shakes herself, but squints behind the volume that blocks Namaari’s view and at her flailing foot about a whole foot under the next foothold.
“Not really, need to go about a foot up!”
Namaari grunts as she tries to bring her foot up, skipping it across the wall, and her knee hits the volume and her hips collapse and she falls.
“Ow,” Namaari grunts.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Namaari scoots away from the wall and shakes her limbs, “Just not as flexible as you are. I don’t think that is the right beta, not for me, but I figured I should try.”
Raya didn’t have anything to say to that.
And it continued, a comradery that she hadn’t truly had with anyone else. Tong was leagues above her technically, Boun focused on the few comp style boulders that Raya preferred to stay far away from, and Noi small and light enough that power basically meant nothing. She had forgotten how easy it was with Namaari, how they were both roughly the same skill level even if they liked different problems.
Though Raya could take or leave Namaari’s advice when she decided to hear it. There had been a memorable occasion where Namaari just shrugged and repeated, “Just grab it.” While Raya had almost torn her hair out.
Just grab it? Yeah, no shit she was trying to grab it.
And when Raya had snapped at her for beta-spraying she’d apologized and well, she didn’t need the kissy faces that Sisu made behind Namaari’s back, but it wasn’t like she was unaware of how fucking hot she was. It was a little unfair and made her feel drab in comparison. Especially since Namaari seemed blind to it all.
They were approaching friends now, a week and a half into this new arrangement, and Raya was trying to figure out how to ask her to hang out outside of climbing. Would Namaari think it was a date? Did she want it to be a date? Would their friendship work if they weren’t staring at holds and walls together? Would it be awkward? Would they actually have to change when they climbed because Raya was perfectly fine with staying just friends.
Even just climbing buddies would be okay.
Namaari was, well she was funny, Raya was annoyed to learn. She’d had glimpses of it before, but now she found herself laughing loud enough to scare Noi.
Raya was mostly regretting every life choice she was making, working on this problem (with its outward facing start), climbing with Namaari (had her tank tops gotten tighter? How was she supposed to think when all Raya could see were her arms?), Sisu’s wink she’d given her as she checked in when she informed her that Namaari was here early, did she mention this outward facing problem?
“You got this,” Namaari grins at her and flashes a thumbs up.
“Maybe if you turned around,” Raya grumbles.
“What?”
“Nothing!” Raya looks up and reaches for the first hold, as she contorts her body, slowly towards the wall. It’s tricky, and she’s too hot for this, already the chalk is almost purposeless on her hands as she leans to the left to get her foot on the sliver of a foothold.
The next move isn’t bad, almost a stabilizing one as she now faces the wall like normal, and she chances a glance down, back at Namaari.
Namaari’s grinning, and then her neck flexes and suddenly Raya is on her back and blinking up at the fluorescent gym lights.
“Raya!” Namaari crouches over her, “Are you alright?”
No, she isn’t, because Namaari is right above her and this was something out of a romance novel and- was it really hot in here?
“You’re all red,” Namaari leans closer.
Fuck it.
Raya leans up and kisses Namaari on the lips, hands tracing Namaari’s arms, and oh god, they are as hard as they look.
Her nerves are on fire. Her body shaking with an electric buzz underneath her skin. It’s a dream, it’s a promise her body cashed and her brain denied, and it’s happening right now. Namaari’s lips are soft on hers, and when she imagined this (not that she’d admit she did), she thought it would likely include one of them pinning each other to a wall.
Though she supposes the floor is a kind of wall.
Namaari breaks it, sitting up and looking down at her with deep, dark eyes that promise everything she tries to pretend she doesn’t want. “Hi,” she breathes out.
“Hi.” Raya stares at her, licking her lips.
“So you like me?” Namaari says.
“Um,” Raya’s brain is blank and the words swim in the air between them as her breath calms down and she tries to focus on something other than the delicious press of Namaari’s legs straddling her. When did that happen? “What?”
Namaari laughs and Raya blinks as it vibrates through her body. Has she ever heard Namaari laugh like that before? She could get addicted to the sound and she finds herself licking her lips again.
“I said, you like me?”
“Oh,” Raya breaks eye contact and feels her body flush even warmer, “Um, yeah, I guess you could say that.”
“You guess?” Namaari leans down so she’s whispering into her ear and Raya feels goosebumps break out all over her skin.
“Yeah,” Raya breathes out, “And I guess this means that you like me too.”
Namaari leans back, a wide smile on her face, “You could say that. I was flirting with you for so long that I was beginning to think that I missed my chance.”
“Wait,” Raya hits her on the shoulder, “Did you start doing my problems to get me to like you? Did you think that would work?”
“Well it did,” Namaari defends.
“It did not!”
Namaari lifts an eyebrow and stares at her and Raya has half a mind to bury her face in her hand.
“We can stop,” Namaari breathes out, “Pretend this never happened-”
“No,” Raya would hate the whine in her voice if she had the presence of mind.
Namaari presses another kiss to Raya’s lips. Like before, her brain goes empty as she focuses on the the taste, just a hint of salt and something earthy, the subtle press of lips that is driving her body wild, the-
“HEY! I’M HAPPY FOR YOU BUT YOU’RE IN PUBLIC.”
A chalk bag flies over them and Namaari jerks off of her while Raya covers her face in her hands.
“Sorry, Sisu!” Namaari calls.
“I’m not cleaning up after you fu-”
“SISU!” Raya screeches and sits up.
Sisu is grinning at them and then flashes a thumb’s up. Raya groans.
“Are you busy tonight?” Namaari whispers in her ear as she helps Raya stand.
Raya shakes her head, “My whole evenings wide open.”
“Me too,” she grins, “You want to figure out this problem? Or leave?”
Raya looks at the wall for a moment, but her brain is buzzing so loudly that she wasn’t even sure she could think about anything other than the woman beside her. She holds out a hand for Namaari to take, “Let’s go.”
“Yes, let’s go lesbians!”
“Shut up, Sisu!”

An alternate take on "Raya and the Last Dragon" (2021)
Tumblr media
I think the movie was good in concept, but the execution had me wanting more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take inspiration from different SEA countries for the 5 parts of Kumandra, but if you want to include more SEA inspiration, perhaps have certain cities between the countries that have a lot of cultural diversity, with Raya's home in Heart being one of those cities. Maybe Heart is Vietnam, Fang is Indonesia (with Malaysian and Bruneian influences; and since Raya is a Malay word, it would be a cool way of showing a connection between Heart and Fang), Spine is Myanmar, Talon is Thailand (with Cambodian and Laotian influences), and Tail is the Philippines. I'd probably also incorporate Fang's orange color into their fashion rather than the creme color--or just make red their color instead. And maybe make Spine's color blue and Heart's color an emerald green in order to differentiate them from each other more; I thought of making Heart the one with blue colors as an indication of Raya and Sisu's bond, but I felt like it was too much Main Character Syndrome, so I wanted to let other lands be special too. It's also noted that each land used their gem piece differently; Fang's cleverness allowed them to become culturally advanced (which includes their modern fashion/hairstyles after the time skip), Spine used it to gain strength to protect themselves and eventually conquer the other lands, Talon used it to boost their economy, becoming the source for many materials and products hard to come by in Kumandra; and Tail has developed immunity to harsh conditions, evolving their mercenary skills. Heart is the only one who's stayed more or less the same since they haven't really used the gem, fueling animosity towards them.
Tumblr media
2. Focus on one large city. I may be alone, but I'm not big on "travel stories" because you're only in each land for 10-15 minutes and you don't get to fully explore it. Having the film take place in a major city with all the leaders (and their gem pieces) together would allow you to flesh out the world and cultures a bit more without losing focus or rashly characterizing each land. It'd also allow us to know more about the chief leaders.
Tumblr media
3. Show Namaari's dedication to Fang being out of love rather than seemingly out of selfishness. At the beginning of the film, very few people can sympathize with Namaari for her betrayal, and giving her more development would be great.
Tumblr media
4. Make Raya more stoic and contemplative. If I recall correctly, they gave her swagger later on in development, and I feel like it undermines the trauma and distrust she has, especially since it feels like she doesn't express full anger with Namaari until after Sisu's death.
Tumblr media
5. Villain/Curropted Namaari. I like the idea that Namaari serves as an Azula-type villain who's much sneakier and manipulative. It's only when her mother is turned to stone halfway through the movie that she realizes she isn't ready to lead and questions the decisions made around her, particularly because the last dragon is following Raya. She doesn't immediately become a BFF to Raya; she now becomes a neutral figure, protecting Fang but not necessarily harming other lands, observing and following Raya to see if her cause is just and if she has a solution that will not ruin Namaari's empire in order to restore peace (I love her concept art--except for the bionic arm; too sci-fi/western vibes).
Tumblr media
6. Keep it serious and dark, with minimal comedy. The original film doesn't really feel as serious as it should be because Sisu and other characters are too humorous. Along with this, make Sisu more wise and sage-like, even if she's the youngest of her siblings.
Tumblr media
7. Make it a musical; either the characters themselves would sing, or SEA singers could sing to represent the characters' thought process, kind of like if you used "The Gift" soundtrack for "The Lion King." (Edit: I made a fanmade song list for this!)
Tumblr media
8. Give Sisu a more mystical design. Her concept art had the right idea--more of a naga-like appearance as most SEA countries have been Indianized rather than Sinicized like Vietnam (which I've heard was the inspiration behind Sisu's finished design). I'd also make her more of a mother figure to Raya given that her own mother isn't alive--or maybe she is; maybe she's from another tribe and left Benja when she realized he wasn't from the same land as her, abandoning Raya and seeing her as a mistake.
Tumblr media
9. Raya's aids--Since Raya isn't leaving Heart and the entire village isn't turned to stone, I like the idea that she builds camaraderie with two members who serve her. There's Cadeo, an intellectual who's much more even-tempered than Tong and Buon, and Hoa, a young woman who's optimistic and hopeful, a stark contrast to the sobered perspectives of Namaari and Raya. Given the story relies on Raya's cooperation with people of other Kumandran lands, Cadeo and Hoa are moreso supporting characters, but are still frequently present in the story to give Raya support.
Referring to #1, I wanted to provide a visual aid for the inspiration for the characters (since I can't draw):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've seen GORGEOUS art of the timeline of Vietnamese fashion by lilsuika on deviantart. I'm unsure if I'd want to take from post or pre-Sinicized Vietnam, though. Post-Sinicized Vietnam feels like it'd be the most familiar for the audience and kinda imply that self-righteous image the other tribes have for Heart (given how they're dressed like they run an empire), but Pre-S Vietnam flows better with the tribal culture of Kumandra.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Namaari, I was inspired by Shinonon's Heavenly Smile's art on Instagram of a Central Javanese woman, as well as modern Indonesian fashion I saw on Pinterest. Just add Namaari's haircut and make the fashion orange.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Tong, I like the idea that his design is an ode to Shan Yu, as well as being a bit more proportionate (his upper body is bigger than his lower body and feels almost cartoon-y; no offense to people built like that IRL). I also see John Gyi on ArtStation's art of a Burmese warrior as inspriation (albeit red instead of blue).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Boun, I took inspiration from the Mandaya tribe of the Philippines from Jme Faronda's art (albeit I'd make it yellow). IDK if Tail--or any of the other Kumandran lands--would represent one IRL tribe or ethnic group within their respective countries, though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IDK if kids Noi's age dressed like this in medieval Thailand, but I took inspo from traditional Thai clothing. Take your pick (and make it purple).
Bonus: Some people have criticized East Asian actors playing SEA roles. I personally don't fully understand, but as an alternate, I suggest Michelle Yeoh (Virana), Brenda Song (Namaari), Ali Wong (Sisu), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Benja) and Francois Chau or Dave Bautista (Tong). These are just a few examples, since I don't know many SEA actors off the top of my head.

My UPDATED version of my Kill La Kill spoof.
SYNOPSIS: The story you know and the characters you love gets a character-recasting makeover in a whole new way in an epic, thrilling remake/character-recasting spoof of Studio Trigger's original hit anime from 2013 of the same name that shook the streets of Honno City, Kill la Kill. Experience and relive the saga of Ryuko Matoi (Go Go Tamago/Lady (Devil May Cry)), a fierce, vagrant woman who crosses paths with the undisputed, iron-willed Student Council president and ruler of Honnoji Academy, Satsuki Kiryuin (Fa Mulan/Xu Xialing). While transferring to the academy and searching for the murderer with the Scissor Blade who killed her father, Ryuko demands answers from Satsuki, but she is chased away by the students equipped with Goku Uniforms that are infused with mysterious alien-like material called Life Fibers. Just when Ryuko was at her lowest and at wit's end, she awakens a living, sentient uniform called a Kamui that may be the key to humanity's future. Sensing Ryuko's anger toward everything, the wisecracking, larger-than-life Kamui bonded with her and the two became the most unexpected, lethal roadblock Honnoji Academy has ever seen (Like Venom).
But just as Ryuko and the Kamui she named Senketsu (Bruno (Marvel's Future Avengers)) form an unlikely, symbiotic bond, Satsuki has also awakened and bonded with a Kamui of her own as well -- Junketsu (Namaari (Raya and the Last Dragon)). Soon, Ryuko and Senketsu are dragged into an epic battle for Honnoji Academy and the fate of mankind that is ravaged with rebellion, action, drama and heart, ultimately resulting in Ryuko and Satsuki's rivalry, the shocking truth about their connected past, and the war against the Life Fibers.
With the help of their friends and allies, including the energetic, hyperactive Mako Mankanshoku (Sofia the First) and her family (Wreck-It Ralph, Adult Wendy Darling, Timothy Templeton, and Dante (Coco)); the Elite Four of Honnoji Academy's Student Council (Joshua Sumter (Me), Aladdin, Tony Stark, Vanellope Von Schweetz); and the anti-Life Fiber organization Nudist Beach led by undercover homeroom teacher Aikuro Mikisugi (Flynn Rider), Ryuko and Satsuki - with both their bonded Kamuis - will have to figure out how to put aside their differences...and reunite as long-lost siblings to stop and foil the plot of the sinister CEO of REVOCS and the director of Honnoji Academy herself -- their birth mother, Ragyo Kiryuin (Eris (Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas))

Top 10 Characters I want to see come to Disney Mirrorverse
I am a fan of Disney Mirrorverse. What impresses me the most about it is the story and most of all the character designs. However, there are a lot of other characters who I think have a lot of potential to come to Mirrorverse, and I'm gonna give you my top 10 characters that deserve to come to Mirrorverse. For each pick, I'll be going over what type of character they would be (Melee, Tank, Ranged, or Support), what they're playstyle could be, and maybe how some could be incorporated in the game. Now, this is my picks and not yours, and your picks can be completely different. Now, let's dive right in.
10. Goliath (Gargoyles)[Tank]
Tumblr media
Starting off with the protagonist of a 90s Disney tv show that helped define a lot of childhoods (along Ducktales and Talespin). Goliath is a warrior that has a lot of abilities, from gliding, super strength, his basic claw strikes to even a bit of magic, a healing factor, and a rage mode. I see him as a Tank character, given he also has super durability, given he's a stone statue by day and defender by night.
9. Namaari (Raya and the Last Dragon)[Melee]
Tumblr media
I had to add a villain to this, simply because we have a small number of villains than heroes in Mirrorverse, and I chose Namaari because not only would she be awesome in Mirrorverse, but it should make sense that she come to Mirrorverse since Raya is in the game. I see her Namaari as a Melee character having a playstyle and appearance of an Assassin, given her skills in martial arts and the use of two blades, but she could have an ability where she uses her crossbow for a ranged attack, and an ability where she calls on her big cat to attack enemies, or she can ride on it for some mounted attacks.
8. Robin Hood (Robin Hood)[Ranged]
Tumblr media
Even though we have an archer in Merida in Mirrorverse, I think the OG archer of the Mouse House should come into the game, heck, Merida and Robin Hood could have a friendly rivalry to see who the better archer is (old school archer vs new school archer). But seriously, he would obviously be a Ranged character were he could have the standard abilities of an archer character in any MOBA/RPG game, from volley shots, charged shots, shooting arrows in a cone, etc., but I can also see Robin have an ability where he tosses out three bags of money and if his allies collect one, the will be healed (think Cupid from SMITE and his ability Share the Love); also he could have an ability where when he attacks an enemy, he has a chance to steal health, items, and of course, currency.
7. Merlin (The Sword in the Stone)[Ranged]
Tumblr media
We all know that Merlin is one of the most amazing mentors not just in Disney history, but in all pop culture history. Being such an amazing and powerful sorcerer, he would be a Ranged character, easily harnessing Stellar Magic to give him access to many different spells, like taking inspiration from his counterpart in SMITE. I could even see him being a chief advisor of the Guardians, aiding some of them in training to giving them some helpful advice.
6. Wart aka Arthur Pendragon (The Sword in the Stone)[Melee]
Tumblr media
When Merlin comes to Mirrorverse, Arthur should definitely join him. Arthur does have Excalibur, and thanks to user s10127470, Arthur's Mirrorverse design could have him wear a magical suit of armor created by Merlin to enhance his physical abilities. Arthur's playstyle could possibly be similar to his SMITE counterpart, but given that Merlin is teaching him, Arthur could also be like a Spellblade or an Eldritch Knight, using a bit of magic to empower his sword fighting. While Arthur is still in training (you know, to be a warrior and a freaking king), he's got a lot of allies who have a lot of experience to help him.
5. Kidagakash "Kida" Nedakh (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)[Melee]
Tumblr media
Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a very underrated movie, and it shouldn't be, so having someone from the movie come to Mirrorverse would give it some representation, and while Milo Thatch would also be a good candidate, I had to go with Kida. Much like Merida, Raya, and Mulan, Kida is a warrior princess (in Kida's case, a warrior princess turned queen) with a lot of abilities, from using an Atlantean spear, martial arts, throwing knives, and using Atlantean magic, so her playstyle could go from her warrior side or her mystic side, but thinking about Freya, Maman Bridgitte, and Ao Kuang (SMITE), I think that Kida could be like how they play: having physical basic attacks, and having magic abilities. So, a Melee attacks like using Atlantean magic to power up basic attacks, shooting magical shots, place a shield around an ally, or heal them.
4. Tarzan (Tarzan)[Melee]
Tumblr media
Another warrior from Disney that needs to make it into Mirrorverse. He would clearly be a Melee character where he would use his spear for basic attacks, and even an ability were he throws it like a javelin toss, and taking some inspration from Nidalee (League of Legends) and drawing inspiration from a Totem Warrior from DnD, where he could summon a gorilla spirit to attack enemies, and he can also use his signature cry to raise the attack and critical hit stats of his allies. So yeah, this jungle daddy definitely deserves to make his mark in Mirrorverse.
3. Li Shang (Mulan)[Melee]
Tumblr media
I believe Shang could play similarly to Mulan, but with some creative differences. He would be a Melee character where he uses a sword, like Mulan, but he would also use a bo staff and bow and arrow, and his passive could reflect his lack of sense of pain where attacks from enemies that hit him take half the damage they would normally do. He could also use buffs to raise his allies stats like critical hit chance, focus, etc. He could be incorporated in an event where he oversee's the Guardian's training session and personally training certain Guardians.
2. Prince Naveen (The Princess and the Frog)[Support]
Tumblr media
Since Tiana is an alchemist in Mirrorverse, it only makes sense that Naveen to come to the game as a bard, given his love for music and his main instrument being a small guitar. Naveen would obviously be a Support character where his playstyle can take inspiration from characters like Apollo (SMITE) and Sona (League of Legends), using his music to heal, protect, and buff up his allies, while damaging and debuffing enemies.
Honorable Mentions
Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest)[Melee]
Shan Yu (Mulan)[Tank]
Captain Phoebus (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)[Melee]
Esmeralda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)[Support]
Pocahontas (Pocahontas)[Support or Ranged]
Darkwing Duck (Darkwing Duck)(Ranged)
The Headless Horseman (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad)[Melee]
Prince Eric (The Little Mermaid)[Melee]
Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty)[Melee]
Tumblr media
I had to put Prince Phillip on the top spot because he should've already been in the game when it first came out. I mean, the guy is one of the most proactive characters in the Mouse House and he clearly knows his way around a fight. He would be a Melee character utilizing his classic arsenal: the Sword of Truth and the Shield of Virtue, and possibly taking some inspiration from Lancelot (SMITE) and even Leona (League of Legends). Also, since Princess Aurora is coming to Mirrorverse, Prince Phillip needs to join her.
That's it, everyone, feel free to comment, but keep any and all shady comments to yourself, or be blocked. Thank you and God bless.

I’m not really a doll blog but I finished my painted dolls a couple weeks ago and I think I’m going to do a little photoshoot with them soon! They make me so happy :D
Below the cut are them all laid out for basic pictures, I’ll probably do the more ‘for show’ pictures later this week. The spot where I want to place them doesn’t have good lighting and it’s too dark now and I’ll be away for the next couple days.
Tumblr media
All of them together, plus a few small animal toys :)
Order of the smaller dolls (which is chronological from when their movies came out and in order of appearance) is as follows: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice, Wendy, Aurora, Eilonwy, Ariel (Jodi Benson), Belle, Jasmine, Olly the Octopus and Gabriella (attempt at human form) from the Little Mermaid tv show, Pocahontas/Matoaka, Esmeralda, Mulan, Melody (Little Mermaid II, attempted human form, see bottom of post for a context picture), Kida, Jane (Peter Pan II), Giselle, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Vanellope, Sofía, Amber (Sofía the First’s stepsister), Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, Elena, Moana, Raya, Namaari, Sisu, Mirabel, Dolores, Isabela, Luisa, Shuri, Ariel (Halle Bailey) and Asha!
Big dolls are Kit Kittredge in a Barbie dress, Big Raya and Big Ariel.
Tumblr media
These guys are just The Little Mermaid crew together. Left to right it’s Big Ariel, Ariel (Halle Bailey), Jariel (Jodi Benson), Melody, Olly and Gabriella. Here is a picture of Gabriella in case you didn’t recognize her. She wasn’t a huge character but she’s a favorite of mine, and has an interesting creation backstory.
Tumblr media
Below are close ups of the painted girls, in alphabetical order
Tumblr media
Alice, Ariel (Halle Bailey), Asha, Dolores, Eilonwy
Alice is an Elsa head (Young Elsa, Yelsa, in Blue dress with hair flattened to be not a braid) with Belle’s blue dress. Ariel was a Moana doll. Asha is a Moana doll with an Elsa body (final white outfit from Frozen II, Welsa) and a bag made of hot glue on the side. Dolores is a Kristoff head (for the ears) with a Tiana bun (see Tiana) and Belle’s yellow dress, with hot glue used to make her bow. And Eilonwy is a Kristoff head (luck of the draw) with hair added via hot glue strips and an Anna dress (green Queen dress from Frozen II, Granna).
Tumblr media
Esmeralda, Olly and Gabriella (since he is her sign language interpreter, he stays with her :D)
Esmeralda was an Ariel doll with her ribbon made from hot glue. Olly is play dough, hot glue, paint and a spray on gloss. Gabriella was a Snow White doll. I decided to give her a human body because I already had human bodies. She doesn’t have silver in her original outfit but I added it because I thought it looked nice. The other colors should match.
Tumblr media
Giselle, Isabela, Jane, Kida, Luisa
Giselle has an Anna head (Anna in her purple overcoat outfit from Frozen II, Panna) with an Aurora body. Isabela has a Welsa head with a Rapunzel body, and a nose arch added via hot glue. Jane is a Granna head with a Panna body. Kida is an Aurora head with a Moana body - the belt in the middle is made of hot glue. Luisa was a Cinderella doll but I added triceps (?) via hot glue.
Tumblr media
Melody, Mirabel, Raya, Shuri
The original Disney Princess dolls who had pants (Jasmine and Kristoff, arguably Pocahontas) were either rarer (J&P) or came with less desirable heads (K) so Melody did not get real pants. Instead, she was a Cinderella head and a Tiana body with her pants painted onto the dress’s skirt. Mirabel was a Belle doll (I cut off the midsection of her hair and attached the ends to the top, making it look curly) with glasses painted on. Namaari was a Jasmine doll with a belt and earring added via hot glue (had to cut a lot of her hair off. And Shuri was a Tiana head (See Tiana) and a Kristoff body. She’s probably my favorite to have worked on. You can’t really see it in this picture, but if you look at the picture with everyone, she has a purple heart (for the heart shaped herb) in one hand and is holding a blue bracelet (like the one Namor gave her, made from his magic vibranium plant) in the other.
Tumblr media
Sisu, Sofia, Tiana, Vanellope & Wendy
Sisu has a Rapunzel head and a Kristoff body. Sofia was a Belle doll. Tiana - see the below paragraph. Vanellope was an Anna head (the blue dress when she met Hans, Banna) with a Yelsa dress, the ponytail being made of hot glue. And Wendy was a Belle (from the Blue outfit) head and a Banna dress.
So there were occasional discrepancies with the official Disney Princess dolls (too much glitter, crowns when they never head crowns, often painted pink on spots where they never had pink) but for some reason they made Tiana wrong and gave her two buns! One on each since of her head. It was cute, but too inaccurate for me!
So I cut both off of my original Tiana, repasted one right behind her crown, and the other on Dolores’s head. And then when I decided to do Shuri (very last minute decision) i just cut off her buns and pasted them one behind the other in the middle of her head, to mirror the below hairstyle better. The curl was part of the face and looked cute so I kept it on both Tiana heads.
(Additionally I accidentally rubbed an eye off of Tiana’s face so the scullers is slightly repainted)
Tumblr media
So those are my dolls! If you look through my blog you’ll probably find some progress pictures. I actually took Asha and Kida with me to see Wish, because I was finished with them by then :).
