'As fans continue to dissect the latest episode of Doctor Who, Wild Blue Yonder, Russell T Davies has revealed some expository dialogue which was cut from the original script.

The dialogue in question would have taken place when The Doctor and Donna were looking out into empty space at the edge of the universe.

Davies explained the reason for the cut on Instagram, saying: "Okay, so I know the Doctor has been to the edge of the universe before, and further. The First Doctor went to Quinnis 'in the fourth universe'. The Fourth Doctor went to the Planet of Evil! And the 13th was on board Tecteun's ship in-between universes.

"So, this is the scene with the Doctor & Donna looking out at the nothingness, Draft 3, 17.04.22, where I acknowledged that. And then I cut it, because [snoring emoji]. But still, the Doctor was thinking it! True fact!"

The dialogue in question, which was posted on Instagram by Davies, saw the Doctor say: "We're so far out. Past the Condensate Reefs. Over the Realm of the Boltzmann Brains. Beyond matter. And light. And Life."

Donna would then ask whether the Doctor had been out that far before, to which he would say: "Oh I've straddled multiverses. But only inside magnificent Timeships. To stand here like this... Physically. Unprotected. Right on the edge. No, never. No one ever has. Until us. And this ship."

In the comments to Davies's post, former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat joked that he had "notes", before going on to jokingly request that all previous stories referenced are shown in flashbacks and that the story features more characters and a different setting.

Wild Blue Yonder mostly took place at the edge of the universe on a single spaceship, but also featured a surprise opening with Isaac Newton, played by Nathaniel Curtis, and a touching scene at the end including Bernard Cribbins's last performance.'

Nathaniel takes your advice but stores it in the back of his mind.

Verdel gets OFFENDED that you tell him to get a job. Even as a joke. 

He's seen enough new media to know how this human society treats others with no job or money.

And a nagging voice in his head yelling at him to barter for his rent.

His resume is nothing but lies. At the very least, vaguely formed sentences.

Scores as a lawyer. Since he's great at convincing people and well, he's from Hell.

Gets a lot of souls this way.

Probably the only one who can pass as human.

In high school English our project on The Scarlet Letter involved making a slideshow accompanied by a song to represent one of the main characters. I eventually settled on "Moonshadow" by Cat Stevens for Hester Prynne. In hindsight, had I chosen Dimmesdale or Chillingworth, I respectively would've gone with "Janine" by David Bowie or "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga.

La représentation LGBT dans ML (The lgbt representation in ML)

Avec Zoe qui a été confirmé comme perso lgbt pour la série. Certains doivent se demander pourquoi Julerose ou bien Marcaniel n'ont pas été confirmés en tant que couple officiel. Disons que l'envers du décor c'est compliqué, bien qu'on commence à voir des ships gays c'est souvent des perso très secondaires et pas souvent des perso principaux. Rare sont les romances lgbt soient mise en avant, il y a bien Korra x Asami dans la légende de Korra ou bien Steven Universe ou bien She Ra. Sauf que dans l'envers du décor, les créateurs ont dû se battre avec les producteurs pour pouvoir diffuser ça.

On a majoritairement des couples de femmes mis en avant mais peu de couples d'hommes dans les séries occidentales. On voudrait qu'il y a plus de représentation diversifié mais dans l'envers du décor c'est compliqué pour les créateurs qui aimeraient mettre des perso lgbt en avant mais ne peuvent pas pour x raison. Par exemple Julerose aurait pu être confirmé avant mais malheureusement certains n'accepteront pas que le couple soit canon. Et souvent ce sera soit les producteurs ou bien la chaîne qui les diffuse par exemple l'épisode où Marc se fait akumatisé à cause de Nathaniel, beaucoup voyaient dans ces deux là une romance gay. Et on sait que Thomas Astruc s'est inspiré d'un de ses amis pour créer le perso de Marc Anciel d'ailleurs si on enlève le M de Marc ça donne "Arc Anciel" probablement en référence avec le drapeau lgbt qui est un arc en ciel.

Et devinez quoi ? Cette épisode a apparemment été interdit de diffusion dans certains pays alors qu'à aucun moment Marc confesse ses sentiments envers Nathaniel et ainsi de suite. Pareil pour Julerose, où c'est vraiment du sous texte et dans le doublage français c'est assez évident que c'est un couple. Mais pas de baiser ou que ce soit pour le confirmer. Je pense que l'équipe aimerait confirmer ces deux couples mais malheureusement ceux au dessus d'eux ne sont pas du même avis. Ce qui est dommage en soi, car souvent les fans aiment voir des histoires gays. J'imagine que pour Zoe, ils ont dû aussi convaincre ceux d'en haut aussi que la chaîne pour les laisser diffuser cette épisode. Mais bon la représentation lgbt c'est compliqué même dans une série destiné à des enfants.

With Zoe confirmed as a lgbt character for the series. Some may wonder why Julerose or Marcaniel haven't been confirmed as an official couple. Let's just say that the other side of the coin is complicated: although we're starting to see gay ships, they're often very secondary characters and not often main characters. There's Korra x Asami in The Legend of Korra, Steven Universe or She Ra. Except that behind the scenes, the creators had to fight with the producers to get it on the air.

Most Western series feature female couples, but few male couples. We'd like to see more diverse representation, but behind the scenes, it's complicated for creators who'd like to feature lgbt characters but can't, for whatever reason. For example, Julerose could have been confirmed earlier, but unfortunately some people won't accept that the couple is canon. And often it's either the producers or the network that broadcasts them - for example, the episode where Marc gets akumatized because of Nathaniel, many saw in these two a gay romance. And we know that Thomas Astruc was inspired by one of his friends to create the character of Marc Anciel. In fact, if you remove the M from Marc, you get "Arc Anciel", probably in reference to the lgbt flag, which is a rainbow.

And guess what? This episode has apparently been banned from airing in certain countries, while at no point does Marc confess his feelings towards Nathaniel and so on. The same goes for Julerose, where it's really subtext and in the French dub it's pretty obvious that they're a couple. But there's no kiss or anything to confirm it. I think the team would like to confirm these two couples, but unfortunately those above them are not of the same opinion. Which is a shame in itself, because often fans like to see gay stories. I imagine that for Zoe, they also had to convince those above them as well as the network to let them air this episode. But lgbt representation is complicated, even in a show aimed at children.

Nathaniel fucking loves cell phones. Even more now than what he saw in the 90s.

Doesn’t really understand video games, but will try them out for light amusement.

Is very good at puzzle games like Tetris and Doctor Mario.

Verdel

At first, Verdel is very much an old man when it came to electronics.

He would figure out that he would need to tune down his natural magic as to not set anything off, especially alarms.

However, once he gets into the groove of how the majority of tech works, he’ll easily assimilate. 

Verdel doesn’t quite understand cars, considering his speed is unmatched. However, he enjoys car rides. 

Hates grocery stores. His high sense of smell cannot handle it. Would rather go to a farmer’s market, reminds him of bazaars. 

Really likes RPGs and MMOs where he can interact with other players. Yes, he will spill the beans on what he really is, no one believes him.

Remember how I said I'd talk about the guy who looted the UFO in my Dialtone lore post?

Let's talk about Nathaniel Robot.

Born in the early 19th century to middle classed immigrants, Nathaniel initially led a fairly standard life. Then at the age of 8, they left him behind on a family trip and were so caught up in frontier shit they failed to notice and get him back for two years.

A born entrepreneur, Nathaniel made his first break into business running a way station and general store. He quickly changed his surname to Robot, a set of random letters he got by asking strangers for their favorite letter, from his birth name of Murderface, fearing the effects it may have on business.

Nathaniel made his initial fortune, however, with a different business. He made his journey west, as was fashionable at the time, and he noticed a few things rather obvious nowadays.

1: People are happy to work for you if you treat them well, especially if other places won't.

2: There were a lot of women and minorities who wanted to get into various fields, but were unable to because this was the 19th century.

With this knowledge, he set about founding a variety of businesses with the fundamental principle of hiring and treating people solely off of the quality of their work. As you can guess, he was also staunchly pro-union. Because this is my fun lil oc world and I'm god, this worked great for him.

After some years of success and significantly moving the cultural norms leftward, he moved to Alaska in hopes of high yield snow farming. While there, he discovered an alien space ship which had crashed some years prior. Like any right thinking American, he investigated alone without telling anyone. Some time later, he ran into the nearest town raving of devices 'beyond comprehension' and scheduled a demonstration. Once the day came, he showed off a computer he's fixed up, powered by a solar panel he'd pried off the ship.

After he threw money at someone smart to reverse engineer the technology, he'd essentially thrown technology ahead over a century, furthering his business. Despite this, he made many of the patents public with the logic that if someone added a brilliant extra, he could hire them, or give a grant. He was less a brilliant businessman than lucky, and the type who's willing to throw money at anything vaguely interesting.

While technology was able to extend Robot's life significantly, he eventually passed away in the mid 20th century. However, he went out with a bang, mere weeks after announcements of his company creating the first autonomous computer, dubbed a robot in his honor.

Robot's was also a life-long supporter of civil rights movements, known for bragging about his 'anonymous' donations to whichever groups looked most likely to make an effective difference. These actions by someone with an enormous influence (just look at Edison [fuck Edison], or Carnegie for people who could approximate his status) resulted in much of that world achieving the closest to full equality and equity you're going to get in the late 20th century. A known bisexual, Robot's suspected relationship with gay activist Steven Mandater would likely have resulted in scandal if not for the public perception of him being batshit insane anyway.

Examples of what caused that view were his claim that seagulls only don't talk for fear of paying taxes, his claim to have invented calculus before Newton, and the fact that before anyone told him of motion picture technology he withdrew into his rooms for a week before returning with a full script for what would to a person from our world be recognizable as the original Star Wars trilogy.
