reasons why i thought nettyplays' skin was an owl for nearly a decade

BIG EYES her skin has them BIG OL EYES

her color palette. the greys and the whites remind me of owl feather coloration!

her nose looks a lot like a beak, especially if we're talking about beaks in minecraft design/terms

i never realized she had the pink toes on her feet AND hands i only ever noticed it on her feet so i thought those were her talons. like how you can only see the talons on an owl instead of the whole leg because of all their feathers

her being an owl just also makes sense for her general vibe

anyway nettyplays is the only owl hybrid ever and she is amazing and incredible

i know she doesn’t upload on youtube anymore, but god i love nettyplays. i always watched her growing up and now i always watch martyn which i think is funny, but lord imagine if she was in the life series!!!

Netty is a classic! If you've ever wanted to get into EVO one day, she's a great pick! And I& do agree it would be nice to have her as part of the Life series, maybe there could be an AU about it! Either way you'll definitely see a lot of familiar faces watching her videos, and the impact she left is extremely important, so please check her out! Maybe even watch some of her other series like Double Dare she did with Jimmy Solidarity where they had to silly little dare challenges every episode!

To say something on the topic, it's one thing to not like the Daemon and Nettles romantic relationship plotline. You have every right. It's another thing, however, to reduce Nettles to that plot line and want to take away her entire narrative arc and give it to someone else or remove it (that doesn't make sense).

Daemon is not her father. You know why?

Because Nettles is most likely not Valyrian and Daemon was in the Stepstones at that time.

Daemon is also not her father because she's an adult who's lived alone her entire life. She doesn't need one.

Nettles isn't Rhaena, Baela or a COTF. You know why?

Because she simply isn't. There is not one inclination in the books that she is and in the show the only reason it's popular in the fandom is because you think black character are interchangeable and don't value their stories as individuals. Rhaena is already set up as the dragon rider she is in the books. Baela is already fighting. The five white children of Rhaenyra are never interchanged, but these three girls (one with no relation) are?

That doesn't make sense.

Daemon and Nettles were most likely romantic or sexual. You know why?

Because Daemon has a repeated pattern of behaviour. Something he repeats with Rhaenyra, Mysaria, and Nettles (even Laena to an extent)

Because Daemon is a weird man, and it's Westeros where weird men thrive. One of the arguments with her is literally that she isn't as young as the girls he slept with before. His morality isn't up for question.

Daemon would because she's a young dragonrider.

Nettles isn't going to be written out. You know why?

She's important to the narrative. One of George's favourite characters that he parallels with Daenerys, lives on past Daemon and exists before him, is one of the most anticipated adaptations and is the question in the narrative of Targaryens and their control over dragons.

I'm not going to argue on these points or even push them anymore. At this point, if it hasn't stuck, you're writing fanon and want it to be canon. I'm not gonna deter you all. Just leave her alone and write fan fiction. Or at least pretend to care about her outside of him.

I've been thinking a lot about magic healing today.

Like I can't stop thinking about how much truly incredible medical knowledge (specifically what we now think of as folk medicine, or like... battlefield surgery) is rendered pretty much completely obsolete by the existence of people who can mend bones with a thought. About how rare it must be for someone to actually know about how a body functions, when among most adventuring types, there's... actually little practical use for such knowledge, with little motivation beyond curiosity to figure it out.

Like of course, I'm sure there are many settings in which those with magical talent are few and far between. I'm sure there are low-magic settings where having access to magical healing is rare, and/or comes at a prohibitively high price for most commoners. But I can't help but think that... in worlds where healing spells and broad-spectrum healing potions are found in the stock of pretty much every merchant and every thug's inventory, ready to be looted, the work of midwives, village wise-women, herbalists, field medics, surgeons, and a thousand other professions is made pretty much completely irrelevant to so many people, simply because clerics, paladins, druids and such, are able to just.... wave a hand, and eradicate diseases, mend bones, transfuse blood, restore limbs, and sometimes even raise the dead.

Being medically knowledgeable on top of being magically adept would probably not only be rare as hell (hello, Halsin), it'd also take a lot of dedication, and a lot of respect for the body and the natural way of things that... I don't know how many even among the best magical healers would actually have.

I'd imagine that many who usually have steady access to a healer don't actually know jack shit about their own health, and... maybe even those who rely on magic to heal, don't actually know what they're doing all that often.

Idk. I'm just rotating this thought in my head today.

Two very dangerous misadventures in this Astarion honor run: in the room just across from Withers's crypt, I detect and disarm all traps except the main one on the sarcophagus. I'm 99% sure it's fine, since I think that one just fires off grease, but not the fireball. All good; I'll just trigger the grease, we'll all fall prone, ha ha ha.

I am very mistaken.

Secondly, I know on Honor Mode the owlbear summons a mate, and I'm scared to death of fighting both of them as we're only level three. I persuade what's-his-name's siblings to come help us out, and even still it's the closest call of the run so far. The sister dies (fine with me), Karlach dies, Wyll goes down but stabilizes--and for the first time in any of my games, Gale dies before I find out about his orb, triggering the mirror image death-failsafe conversation and his body's necrotic aura.

There's a moment at the end of the fight where Astarion is the only one standing toe to toe with the owlbear father. He has twelve hitpoints. The owlbear father has three. (The brother is up a hill engaged with the owlbear cub and only has two hitpoints himself from the repeated Tiny Claws attacks.)

It's honor mode, so I have one shot at this. I can't get advantage (no allies in melee, deep water prevents moving away enough to hide, won't survive an opportunity attack). It's just a straight hit. Three hitpoints. We can do this.

Astarion misses. I used both bonus actions at the top of the round trying to get more advantageous position and can't even take a healing potion. He's still standing in Gale's necrotic aura at the end of his turn because I'm trapped by opportunity attacks and takes two damage. Down to 10 hp.

I'm hovering my mouse over "end task" on the Task Manager. It's honor mode; I have one save. If all four party members go down, that save is toast and the run is over. But...what if...?

One more round. Just in case. I'm feeling insane and lucky.

The owlbear father attacks--and misses. It rolled a three on the die.

Astarion lands the next blow. Owlbear father finally down, I'm pumping my fists, the owlbear cub de-aggros and starts eating mom, the brother cries over his sister getting mauled to death and Astarion tells him to find somewhere else to be. That cutscene ends--and I discover the whole time, Astarion's been taking a d4 of necrotic damage from Gale's STUPID AURA EVERY SIX SECONDS. He has two hit points left and my heart tries to jump out of my throat on a spring.

I manage to get out of the aura, down a bunch of potions, and get everyone up in time to do Gale's pouch puzzle (my first time! and wasn't THAT a new stressful experience on its own!). Not even the Anders fight was that difficult this go-round. Whew!

If they cut Nettles I’m done with the show. If they give Nettle’s storyline to someone else I’m done. If they downplay who Nettles was as a person I’m done. If they don’t include Nettles and Daemon’s relationship I’m done.

Memory’s of the Moon

Pearl: one of the latest addition to Evo, yet also one of the last to leave.

Pearl is a Moon Goddess or more accurately she was, however when she was brought to Evo the Watchers suppressed the memory’s of her past life and trapped her in a mortal body to ensure she couldn’t appose them.

In the past her mortal form is a moth hybrid, however in the present her mortal form is an avian.

Due to her undiscovered divinity she has a Goddess form that is unaffected by time and space, meaning she can vaguely remember the previous timeline after every reset.

The more resets that happen the more vividly she remembers and the more she risks prematurely discovering her true form.

Her dynamics are mostly the same as they are in the original timeline, when it comes to Mumbo however he knows he has to be careful around her. He is her friend In the future, but he can’t act like it too soon so he wont raise suspicion during the timelines where he try’s to hide the fact he’s from the future.

The main difference come in later timelines, when she starts to remember more clearly things that never happened. Salem is usually the first person to catch onto the fact Mumbo is hiding something, but this just gives her more reason to suspect something is wrong.

So in later timelines Pearl, Big B and Salem form a secret alliance to try and figure out what’s going on.

Gods and Goddess:

In this AU Gods/Goddesses are less like how most major religions see them and more like the Deity’s from Egyptian mythology or even Norse mythology. They aren’t all seeing all powerful entity’s, they are powerful of course but can still be killed/depowered, they are also less the rulers of a domain and more so the manifestation of their domain with their power and influence reflecting the state of their true selves (for example when the ocean dried up in empires, leading to Lizzie forgetting who she was)

Also in the past Pearls Goddess form is pale and blue to resemble a new moon, but when she rediscovered herself in the original timeline at the end of empires her Goddess form changed to resemble a harvest moon.

Also, also Salem is a Pegasus hybrid that idea was inspired by @fallow-foot Salem design go look at their art it’s great.

I just find it so amusing that if you kill Nettie, literally no one in the Grove cares. Not even Halsin, the bird she heals, the other druids, the tieflings, no one. It's never mentioned and it affects nothing.
