So as for how I see Elliott in my interpretations:

GENERAL

I personally see him being around 34, super neurodivergent (most likely undiagnosed), and having already lived life and a past stable job that wasn’t his cup of tea before realizing he’s getting up there in his years. This eventually would motivate him to take the leap of faith that’s moving to Pelican town and moving into the writers retreat. Of course you’re going to have to suspend your disbelief significantly about him making absolutely zero progress that is his novel in the year long span he’s in Pelican town, so I could only assume that either he worked on publishing shorter form stories and taking up commissions, or already started working on his novel long before the farmer arrives and is just asking for the assistance of a beta reader. Either way, while it’s hard to judge the cost of rent in Pelican Town with regards to staying in that cabin, let’s just assume that he had plenty of money saved in order to work without needing to worry about keeping the lights on.

BACKSTORY

We know absolutely nothing about Elliott's socioeconomic background so it’s hard to glean whether he grew up poor, middle class, or wealthy. Even with his expensive tastes he could fit in any of those categories. Whether he did develop his more gentlemanly qualities from being born with a silver spoon or just developing it in order to give off a certain impression to other people, I wouldn’t know. His lack of interest in divulging his backstory could mean that it’s the latter if it comes from shame, but I could also very much believe that he had a family that were old money and preferred Elliott to take up whatever family trade that they had or a respectable profession(trading firm, banking, business, etc.) To my point, he likely had a family given profession that they pressured him to take up that made him plenty of money, and he saved up enough money to keep him afloat before calling it quits. (And considering his expensive tastes as well as my headcanon being that he’s practically buff, I doubt he would neglect his personal health by ordering cheap foods. He would have the means to eat well.)

LIFESTYLE

On the topic of health! Listen, with Elliott mentioning his rugged physique and him basically being Stardew Fabio, it’s hard to see him as a stick. I think Elliott very much enjoyed sports in his college years such as fencing (albeit he likely wouldn’t be able to deal with fighting monsters whatsoever despite his claim), and maybe even horseback riding/polo. (That man’s a stallion! What wouldn’t be more fitting? Plus shoveling shit gets you fit.) He also likely fished prior to meeting Willy, and still would do it for fun. Much to the contrary of most fan headcanons I don’t think Elliott is much of a regular swimmer, mainly because neither seawater nor chlorine would bode well for his hair. If anything, it would be a leisurely activity as opposed to one related to fitness. The other thing that contributes to his general physical fitness is that Elliott for the most part hardly uses any electric appliances outside of necessities (such as a phone), partly due to the lack of sufficient sockets and amenities in his cabin but largely for the aesthetic. He’s very much unplugged and rarely uses social media. Because he hardly uses electric appliances, he is in charge of all the housework which includes chopping all of his firewood, handwashing, drying, and ironing all of his clothes, and occasionally crab potting his own lobster dinners if he’s lucky. This man is on top of his housework! He genuinely enjoys this meditative routine of housework he has as he mulls over thoughts on his novels.

Overall those are my general headcanons I have so far on Elliott, but if you every have specific prompts feel free to send them my way :D

- To get this out of this way, Dell loves you no matter what so don't be worried about being 'different' or whatever

- He's used to rambling about something you might not necessarily be interested in yourself, so he's more than happy to return the favour about your special interests !!

- It doesn't matter what your hyperfixation or special interest is, he will always ask about it :)

- He loves letting you just discuss anything and everything about whatever (he'd feel bad being the only one talking)

- He has a really good memory, especially with you, so don't be surprised when he starts talking back to you (not in a rude way) and recalling other things you've mentioned

- You know the 😍 emoji? Yeah that's him when you talk about your special interests and hyperfixations, no matter if he hasn't heard of them before nor has much interest in it himself

- Speaking of a good memory, he learns your personal boundaries pretty well and your body language

- He definitely had some notes as to what certain stims mean to you, but eventually he just knows it by heart :)

- He also remembers what textures you like and dislike and what to do when you have a sensory overload (since everyone has different techniques)

- In fact, sometimes he can even tell before you know that things are becoming too much

- But even in the start of your relationship, he's trying his absolute best to help you out, taking you to a room far from noises and asking you gently and slowly how he could help

- "Look at me, honeybee. Can you tell me what's wrong? How can I help you?"

- He's also perfectly comfortable explaining things you don't understand

- He's actually really good with social cues and understands less tangible concepts (even if it isn't particularly interesting to him)

- So he's a good choice to ask about certain social constructs you don't understand

Armand is 100% paying for Daniel’s top surgery, the fact that he canonically spoils his lovers (*cough* night island *cough*). He definitely would be over the top (positive) about taking care of Danny post surgery too. Armand also definitely wants to examine the drains and other medical stuff :)

yk how when you get top surgery, a lot of the time your nipples loose sensation? i am neurodivergent, suspected autism among other things (i’m not able to seek a diagnosis rn but i plan on seeking one when i can). im also having a lot of health issues recently. i’m not sure if it’s POTS, long COVID, fibromyalgia, or a combination of these things, or something different all together—either way, it’s been a pretty rough year for me. i’ve got pretty bad brain fog, chronic pain, fatigue, dizziness/presyncope, migraines, and i have bad episodes of almost passing out, heart palpitations, etc. idk what’s up but it’s been a journey lol :’)

I’ve heard it said that the manic pixie dream girl is just an undiagnosed neurodivergent (adhd/autisitc etc) bisexual.

And as a former manic pixie dream girl, current diagnosed ND bisexual, I think there’s truth to that.

When I was coming of age in the early oughts, Manic Pixie Dream Girl was a very common trope and I was like “YES! Some ppl are just inexplicably drawn to me while most others think i’m a weirdo!” so those characters resonated with me.

But I like manic pixie dream pirate as it’s more gender neutral.

And don’t you think that’s basically what Stede is? He’s like unapologetically doing his own thing and like “come on, let’s have fun with this! let’s go on an adventure!”

Okay ☝️ first we’re gonna start with my WOKE headcanons 😍

I hc Sebek as Uranic!!! (Simple but I like it :3)

I also HC him as Egyptian and Mexican!!!

He has Audhd (and a more recent hc of mine BPD and NPD)

😢😢 one thing about me is I have stim Hcs for my neurodivergent characters sooo yeah ummm I’m gonna share a few :3

Yelling and being loud is a stim but it’s also because he has bad impulse and volume control!

He grunts and coughs a lot and also grits his teeth

He has a lot of stims using his arms like clenching his fists, cracking knuckles, flapping his arms/hands (something he picked up from Malleus) and moving his arms a certain way

A lot of his stims include his mouth of arms/hands!

Most of his stims he keeps to himself, especially the ones that draw attention/are disruptive

He chews stuff A LOT. His pens are CHEWED UP. He finds it embarrassing but he can’t help it :(

He can get overstimulated easily, but sometimes it just depends.

When he’s overstimulated he tends to hit his head

He used to get overwhelmed and overstimulated somewhat easily and would start tearing up. When he entered NCR he decided he would stop doing that to be the best guard possible. He still tears up when overwhelmed and overstimulated but it’s rare and in like.. long extreme situations.

LOVES HUGGING AND SQUISHING/SQUEEZING. Gives bear hugs. Absolutely bone crushing hugs. His hugs could probably fix your back- or make it worse 😭

Has probably masked unknowingly, but it NEVER lasts.

Also has tics that tend to be triggered in cold weather. Occasionally warm weather.

Mostly motor tics like head jerking!

Normally tics then stims

Sebek is a very physical person. He LOVES hugging and doing anything with his body. He loves working out and moving and stimming because it keeps him happy. He just feels the need to be active or it feels like he’ll explode- he feels things very intensely and a lot of it stresses him out because his emotions are too strong and big to handle

Another thing is he’s terrified of kissing on the lips- Every time he tries to do it he gets scared and backs out- and if he does manages to kiss *insert person you ship him with* it doesn’t last- like. It only lasts 1 second and he immediately backs away because he just can’t take it 😭 not because he doesn’t enjoy it! It’s just he gets embarrassed and soemthing about it makes him really nervous

I think Sebek is half crocodile fae…so like… physically he’s a bit different… but not a lot compared to his mother or grandfather!! I think that he has teeth a bit similar to crocodile teeth! But because he’s still young they don’t look the same they do for his mom and stuff :3 (if that makes sense lol)

HE HYPERFIXATES ON ALL OF HIS FAVORITE PEOPLE/ CLOSE FRIENDS!!! I like to think he has hyperfixate on silver, Lilia, his mom, dad, grandpa,siblings etc. at points of his life.

On his parents when he was little, later Baal and when he met Lilia he hyperfixated on him, then silver. .. and basically it progresses like that.

Currently it’s malleus (obviously) but he is obsessed with other things, like culture and Lilia. But they’re not the biggest focus.

Oh he has loads of scars. Not only from him training and fighting, but because he loves running around! He has little scars and bruises on his legs and arms because of it :( accidentally hurting himself while having fun and running. A lot of times he wakes up with new ones too, it’s very confusing to him.

Sebek likes wearing funky weird little socks…. Like… I do think he wears formal white/black socks but he also has socks with patterns, matching ones, mismatched ones, colorful ones, ones with little patterns….

Eeek Sebek loves pink <3 and also likes yellows and reds but prefers pink he thinks the color is so cool and fascinating

OMG HE LOVESSSSS FLOWERS SO MUCH <33 he loves looking at them and collecting them! He has a secret book with a bunch of pressed flowers <3 he doesn’t know a lot about their meanings but he does really like them, and can identify some of them :3

His hair is wavy but also kind of nice to touch? He brushes it constantly so it ends up being somewhat soft

Whenever he loves someone or thinks someone is so super cool he will praise them so much <3 he is my hype man <3 he’s also very honest and pretty blunt so you can tell when he’s honest…

He likes making his own things :3 he loves doing hand crafted stuff….especially with like wood…. And plants…sometimes metal/iron. It’s kind of like a side hobby…..

He can’t handle too much spice- he can eat most spicy foods…

I can't tell you how much I love the vamptember series. Finally finally it is the start of the chase years!! I loved it. I loved the pain and the fear and yet Daniel's defiance to escape this life and into the next. I think no one else could have survived Armand that night were it not for Daniel. It was Daniel and how he functions and moves through life that intrigued Armand enough to let him run ( he even says so doesn't he when he tells Daniel to run...it is between the lines). I always ask like which came first with Daniel and what's frustrating as fuck (but really fun for fanworks) is that we know NOTHING about him. He's free real estate! But like I ask myself what type of person is this, who would respond this way?

Was he close with his family? Did they look for him? Was any love lost here?

Was he already prone to obsession? Is becoming obsessed with vampires just A THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE or did it affect him specifically this way because he was neurodivergent already?

On that same note, knowing what we know about him as a vampire: Were these patterns there already? Vampires are sort of neurodivergent anyway, but did it just exacerbate something that was there?

Like even when Marius says he was like this as a human, too, WAS HE REALLY? DOES THAT MEAN PRE- OR POST- ARMAND?

I don't see any real indication that he had an alcohol problem BEFORE he was traumatically stalked all over the world but again, free real estate! Nothing to suggest that he didn't, either.

And again, how much of addiction is innate and genetic? If he weren't genetically prone or predisposed to developing a drinking habit (and later a Blood habit), would he have dealt with this situation differently?

So like there's no right answer to these questions but it's stuff I've asked myself a LOT over the course of my fuckin, like, VC Fic Writing Career 😂

I have tried to have all these decisions made when I write, even if it's stuff that doesn't come up in a particular story, just so that *I* know the answer and so that I can try to characterize everyone as consistently as possible. Especially bc like it's been a challenge of mine to keep all my VC fics plausibly in the same universe. So for example, the Vamptember 1973s are absolutely the prequel to The Usher; this is Usher!Daniel and this informs how he will behave in the Usher fics. I had decided he was a lil estranged from his parents, had fucked up a little bit in college and it was causing tension with his dad, his big first loss was his best friend in Vietnam. These are things I hinted at in the Usher fics. And I'm having a lot of fun writing it all down now!!!!!!!!!!!

As for how the boys would react to a "crusty, weak Player" that you described so eloquently: yes, the boys would still love them. Honestly, someone like you wouldn't usually survive in Nevada for very long, so I think they're more endeared to your "weakness" than they realize. They'd also be concerned too, of course, and probably try to help you better your health and habits as much as possible, but it's from a place of care.

This means trying to fix your sleep schedule by having you actually go to bed at an appropriate time (maybe bribing you with cuddles, cause they think that might work) and distracting you from your phone. I can also see Doc looking into medication to help your anxiety (but that might take a while since he's hesitant to try any grunt-centered treatment options on a human), and he probably lectures you on your posture cause that's simply not good for your spine. Deimos would probably exploit your sense of humor by telling more bad "your mom" jokes around you just to hear you laugh, and I can definitely see Sanford coming up with some sort of meal plan to help you out on the nutrition side of things. (And maybe massages to help with your soreness? I feel as though he'd be able to do that).

Hank really doesn't know what to do here (a side effect of not caring about anyone else ever), so he'll settle on trying to mimic whatever the others do to the best capacity. He can't tell good jokes or cook, but he's very good at making sure you follow whatever the others are nudging you towards. (i.e. Pulling your shoulder back to make you sit up more, pulling your phone out of your hand and replacing it with his own, or just yanking you into his lap when he thinks you should get some sleep without any distraction.)

Overall, they try to be helpful if you allow them (provided you're fine with them being mother hens), but in any case, you being "crusty" and objectively weak wouldn't stop them from liking you. They're your vessels and you're their Player, their most favored and adored. Their love for you is unconditional, so you shouldn't have any doubts.

ok everyone, i have this very important event in my life in a few weeks

and i need the best possible tips or advice so that i dont end up like this and have an existential crisis in the middle of everyone enjoying themselves and what *i* could be doing incorrectly (because hey im a bit of an antisocial with no remaining friend groups ahahahahagwhah) OR if im not doing anything at all and its just the people around me who i cant get along with

to provide some context, im generally a very shy person who tends to keep to myself and waits for someone else to approach me so i can get in the groove and come out of my shell; approaching others in groups has ALWAYS been very awkward for me as i usually always feel out of place not knowing what to say, how to act or what to do, and from my personal experience i always seem to be brushed off to the side which leads to this exact screenshot lmao

watching my friends not struggle with this and trying to pick up on what theyre saying/doing is SO tiring(im not diagnosed but all signs point to me being heavily neurodivergent). maybe my pea brain just cant grasp the idea of a conversation with a group of people because this behavior is something spurred on by negative interactions from the past and that is exactly why i feel like i cant contribute to anything and that im REALLY overbearing which all holds me back from, yakno, interacting! with these people!😍 [edit: my aversion to interacting because of negative experiences in the past, some people at this event are those who i had those negative experiences with, thus the reason i feel i cant contribute anything because i always get shut down and i dont exactly plan to interact with them much. hopefully!]

Fauxlivia is still your protégé, right?🤭and fighting Helen Dale dont stop )... and for me it is extremely commendable and I admire you immensely for never stopping fighting and share Anna Torv!

Honestly, I am genuinely at a lost as to why some people get so mad and unforgiving over honest mistakes, especially when I mean it when I say I never meant any harm, and will listen and change my behavior if it's not appropriate. I have been in this fandom for a very long time, and I've always tried my best to be nice, and to do better when I can do better. And anyone who takes the time to actually get to know me at all, unlike those people who have honestly been very closed-off from the start, knows that I'm the opposite of an asshole, and that my life motto literally is 'let's be kind and show empathy'.

I swear twitter puts a negativity filter on everyone's brain, they expect the worst of everyone. The fact that they thought I'd sent people after them to 'harass' them, when I wasn't even aware of what was going on until my friend reached out to me to tell me about it, at which point said friend had already gotten involved, just baffles me. I'm a 36 year old adult with bad social anxiety, I live my life hoping to avoid drama or situations in which people will get angry at me in any way. The last thing I would ever think to do is have that kind of vindictive behavior, especially about something I knew I could have handled better. But you can't have conversations with the twitter crowd, you just can't. They will assume the worst of you and that's it.

I haven't been on twitter for a couple weeks now, except to post fic links for my followers who care about them, and honestly, I don't know if I'll be back, not when there are a few people who seem to enjoy scrutinizing the things I do or say.

I still want to do the Anna project because I want her to receive love from her fans, but my anxiety about this is too high at the moment, and my brain a bit too unkind.
