This really explains why so much of the acting during this era comes across as awkward and stilted, the scripts were often arriving so late that the actors had almost no prep time.

#doctor who #dw #by the sounds of it chibnall was just never on time with his scripts #which is why so many of them feel like first drafts because was literally writing them at the last minute #he even admitted that's what the S11 finale was #and I seriously doubt it was the only one #it is really ironic how he was hired partly because he had the experience of running a big tv production #so it was assumed he'd be a safe pair of hands #but it seems that his era had the most chaos behind the scenes #in a few years time we are probably going to get some really frank interviews about what really went on during the making of this era

i genuinely genuinely feel like such an uncreative and uninspired artist. i feel like im not really capable of creating anything. or at least not anything new or interesting. i worry all i make is a regurgitation of other things ive seen other people do better. i keep chasing some kind of Spark thats always missing and makes me always frustrated even if you could point out good drawings that ive made. i want to make something that's truly me i want to make something out of my ideas i want to make something meaningful. i want my art to be able to reasonate with others like others' art were able to reasonate with me. im always making piece after piece hoping to get somewhere but im always left unsatisfied. i dont really know what is it i want or what i should do

quick note - this blog is gonna be sparse again for at least this week. trying new medications and tbh initial side effects are not super pleasant + actual effects build up. as a result: currently as if unmedicated for mental health, with anxiety+ side effect, extra fatigue, dizziness, and fatigue. it's uh, sure something.

totally recognize that most of y'all know we're absent at times due to health things, just wanted to give a heads up that this one is at least anticipated.

#fun fact sometimes condensing meds just means poorer treatment of some conditions #this is a re-expansion + new thing #so that instead of poorly treating my mental health and using an unusually high dose SNRI for another (physical) condition #i will hopefully both be in less pain AND not depressed af AND also have an appetite again #i doubt i will be lucky and not have a fucked stomach due to meds but one can hope that an appetite will allow me to eat foods that upset #my stomach a lot less #my health is forever a massive balancing act #every time a medical thing is like 'so what meds do u take' i'm like here i wrote it down for u #and they're like 'oh. ooookay. let me just...' *five minutes of typing and clicking later*#'so! what did you come in for again? uhuh. you said you experience pain daily? with your chronic pain thing? hm. have you tried yoga?'#/gen #like. straight up every time i say 'i am in pain all the time due to fibromyalgia' they are like 'ooh studies say regular exercise helps'#and like. theoretically yes! but also. i would be lying if i said the fibromyalgia studies i've skimmed don't set off general 'bad science'#alarm bells in my brain #like... cool you performed a fibromyalgia study with... all male lab rats? mhmm? so are you aware fibromyalgia appears to occur #overwhelmingly in women? like. data seems to suggest between 70-85%?#(not that the data can't still indicate things but it certainly makes male rats a poor choice of model for tests on it)#also just... idk i've looked at some metaanalysis and been like 'okay cool theory and for all i know about human bio or bio in general that #sounds more or less correct BUT. you never discussed that one study on this subject that did NOT support your conclusion.#and that's 1) interesting when it was the most diverse group of subjects and the exceptions often teach just as much as the 'rule'#2) just shitty science. tell me how your theory is still credible when some evidence doesn't fit the model.#like... 'given that all other studies were primarily conducted on white american women in their 30s to 40s it is possible that this model #only explains (the early effects of fibro since that's a typical onset period) / (a possible genetic link primarily found in white women) /#(a possible sign of bias in diagnosis that demonstrates the possibility that there are different causes) / combinations of all of those #like... idk a paper that just throws out things that don't support it is a pretty big red flag #it doesn't mean the conclusion is entirely incorrect but it is often important to understand the context in which it applies #like... it's very easy to jump to an incorrect conclusion if you used something in the wrong context #ie: thumbs up is a good job / positive thing in a lot of western civilizations. teenage kee once went to china and discovered it to be #neutral to offensive in many areas outside of major tourist locations that were used to it #anyways i gotta sleep

When you know a character and their material like the back of your hand and you see someone say something about the character as if it’s a known trait of theirs but you’ve literally never seen that happen

#saw a review for an old first doctor novel that said that steven’s ‘capacity to fall for the wrong type of woman’ was ‘very much in place’#his… his what?#is this a thing that happened repeatedly in the novels for some reason and i’ve been blissfully unaware of it?#he literally never gets anything romantic in the show #you can see steven/sara if you squint like i did and apparently big finish did as well #but that’s it and that’s already a stretch #and at that sara is not the wrong kind of woman so it wouldn’t describe her anyway #is this about steven being attracted to the drahvin for a hot minute or something?#because it was literally about a minute. very quickly realized that they suck and then never looked at them like that the rest of the story.#but there’s nothing else to draw from lol #so i have to assume that either the novels kept doing this to him for some reason #or this person is just living in a dream world about who steven is lol #i’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it’s the novels because i know some very odd choices have been made in them #but still. what???#classic who #steven taylor

Wtf, even just browsing job sites / listings / descriptions is enough to make me nauseous with anxiety and depression. When, why, and how did I ever become such a useless and pathetic mess?

#panic attacks leave me feeling like shit for the rest of the day and that seems illegal #what do you mean i go through th worst feelings ever for a number of minutes and when it ends i still feel like absolute shit #the embarrassment of being seen as you lose all control of your body and emotions #and then your brain staying foggy and shitty all day #panic attacks should be a one time thing #i hate them!#kdfhgdfg #i was researching phsychiatrist yesterday because every day it's getting harder to deal with my brain hating me #but boy oh boy are they expensive!!! mental health doctors are never covered by my health inssurance and they're one of the most expensive #types of doctors out there and you can't just go once. it's a long term thing #so i very much doubt i'll be able to afford it #specially because my stupid work is not regular so maybe i can afford like 2 sessions and then never again for like 4 months...#i hate this so fucking much #and it's sort of a vicious cycle because i can't pay for therapy because i don't have regular work #and i can't find regular work because my anxiety paralyzes me most of the time...#but it's fine... could be worse #we still can afford food and pay for services so it's fine #i just wish my entire wasn't in other people's hands you know?#the people ruining this country the people who politely say ''thanks but you're not a good fit for our team'' etc etc #angel talks #personal #please ignore this post it's actually fine. i'm fine and not in danger of doing something stupid or whatever #it's all fine i'm just venting cause as i said my brain is foggy and putting things out there helps a bit
