30 days of Nevervember!
It’s November very soon and I was thinking about posting a list of NWN/NWN2-centric general prompts for each day in November! (Get it? Neverwinter + November? Never-vember?) It’s tricky to figure out since not everyone has played both of the games and all the campaigns in them, so something more general you could choose from to create seemed like the best idea.
You can write the prompt. You can draw the prompt. You can do a combination of both. Comics? Hell yeah. Everything is welcome!
If you decide to do these, please feel free to tag me in each one you do so that I can give you reblogs.
This challenge is not in the least bit binding and it is by no means an obligation or a contest - you can do few, you can do all, you can even do only one if you want. It’s entirely up to you!
Prompts listed below (take artistic license in interpretation if you need):
Day 1: your hero's home in their childhood days
Day 2: Your character meeting your (personal) favorite party member for the first time
Day 3: Your character meeting your (personal) LEAST favorite party member for the first time
Day 4: Your character and chosen party members lounging about at camp or in a tavern
Day 5: An embarrassing situation during an adventure
Day 6: your character's final (or most recent) positive memory from their childhood home
Day 7: Meanwhile, in ____... (this is your chance to write/draw the "other side" or the "b-plot" while your character is off doing something else!)
Day 8: The most impactful event your character went through
Day 9: A party member finding a way to cheer up your character
Day 10: The moment your character formed a (romantic OR friendship) crush
Day 11: Something little-known about your character revealed
Day 12: Your character or a party member is caught red-handed! (By whoever you like, doing anything)
Day 13: Your character saying something they end up regretting later during an argument
Day 14: Your character in a lesser-known location in the games (because some of those places need a little more love) (from the illustrious malgriff)
Day 15: Bridging the gap between campaigns if you keep your hero through any of them (even the lesser-known campaigns) (from the ultimate jorvach)
Day 16: Your hero or one of their party members in therapy (from the fantastical fable sage)
Day 17: Wrongly accused of something they didn't do (you can go with the obvious or not if you like!)
Day 18: Long-term consequences (of politics, society, inter-personal relationships, etc) (from the beauteous the-great-elwisty)
Day 19: Your character stuck with the most annoying party member
Day 20: Unexpected middle ground
Day 21: "Just in case we don't make it-"
Day 22: If Volo (or a newspaper like faerunian TMZ) did a news report on something your hero did (inspired by the wondrous malgriff, myrtleandrue, and lergahin)
Day 23: Uh-oh! Your hero (or party members or both!) suddenly got affected by a curse which turns them back into children for a day. How do they react or cope? Who looks after them? (from the stupendous songofmadness)
Day 24: Doubts
Day 25: A diary entry or scene described from a side character of your choice (inspired by the glorious myrtleandrue)
Day 26: In ruins
Day 27: How one of your party members views your own character
Day 28: What happens to the characters long after the game has concluded? Are they still in touch with one another/are the events still relevant to them/have they moved on? (from the mysterious the-great-elwisty)
Day 29: How the adventure should have really ended
Day 30: What's next in your character(s) adventures? (from the fabbu the-great-elwisty)

ANW Site Upgrades
Further upgrades will commence during the early part of December to continue optimisation improvements again we will try and keep this time to a minimal and aim to warn you before it happens.
Our favourite quote this month; " ...ANW became a big focus for us. It allowed us to actually get other perspectives and views, to learn more about the social naturist scene. We were looking to get more involved with other like minded individuals, and for us, it became what we now see as a major stepping stone into the outside naturist world. To be honest, for us, stuck at home, it was the single most positive aspect of our life at that time." - By RnR.

Until next time...

Poppa
Daily Writing Challenge 2021 Day 11: Moonlight/Watch
"C'mon, Toffee, I know you're hungry. You're always hungry. Look, I even took out the cores already, see?"
The moose, as he'd been doing for the last two days, didn't respond to the boy's whining. Lucien had been briefly hopeful when he saw Toffee's ear flick, but he figured out pretty quick that that was just because a fly had landed on it.
Okay, what would Terry do? ...Probably not have any trouble, since Toffee was only doing this because Terry wasn't here. That isn't the most helpful answer in the world, though, so... if I were Terry...
"Um. Hey," the skinny, barely-into-his-teens boy did his best impression of a 6-foot-tall brick wall of a man in his late 30s, which of course was terrible and he knew it. "Big...man? Big lad?"
Finally, Toffee moved, but only to turn his head so slowly that Lucien could swear his neck bones creaked like the door to a haunted house, and stare at him. Never in his life had Lucien seen an expression of pure, raw disdain like this before, certainly not on Terry's funny-looking ton-and-a-half puppy. It was like being laughed at, but worse, because the one laughing was about as smart as the apples Lucien had been trying to feed him.
Tumblr media
Really, he was just glad Praecormu hadn't been around to see this. He could feel his ears trying to catch fire, and the last thing he needed was a gigglefit from a whelpling to make it worse.
With a defeated sigh, Lucien picked up the bucket, said, "Okay, but at least give me some credit for trying," and went back inside. He needed to call the other lady on Terry's emergency list.
---
Vember had been busy for quite some time since the banshee queen chose to bring it all down with her. Val'sharah was not a quiet place when the balance of life and death was thrown completely sideways, especially not when her little brother had gone briefly missing from his barrow den after his first proper dreamwalk. He'd come back, of course, but it had been horrid waiting for news of his return and then his improving health.
Someday, Leon was going to be the death of her, she just knew it... bloody Ambroces. If they weren't so damned earnest she wouldn't put up with them like this, she was sure of it.
It was a common line of thought, tinged with exhausted affection, and one that circled around in her thoughts yet again when she'd taken delivery of the moose she hadn't seen since he was hip-height. Initially, she'd been thrilled that he'd been broken of his pouncing habits, but that had quickly been set aside once she'd recognized that he simply wasn't happy to see her. Or anyone, for that matter. The poor thing was utterly despondent, just like Shedwyn's eldest had warned her.
Well. She'd dealt with stubborn animals before; Toffee was no different. Just another thick Ambroce skull to get through.
The harvest witch wasn't completely heartless, of course, and she did try to simply convince the sulking beast to eat for a little while. Offers of the best feed the Dreamgrove had to offer, his favorite apples, his namesake toffees, the delightful little tea cakes one of the owlkin had made for her... Nothing. He'd just hunkered down and stared off into the horizon, clearly waiting, probably watching, for Poppa to come home. It was enough to break her heart; she knew exactly how he felt, sometimes. After all, she was Gilnean.
"But we mustn't let ourselves just waste away," she continued her thought aloud as she patiently brushed his pelt. "What good would that do, honestly? How miserable would he be to finally come home, like he always does mind you, and find you'd pouted yourself into nothing but bones?"
As always, nothing. For a little while, Vember had approached the notion that he'd gone mute, up till he gave a particularly sullen little 'gronk' when she'd inspected his wounded leg. The vet they'd taken him too had been capable, but clearly, he'd had no idea how to work with an elderhorn. Thankfully, Vember was used to entirely too many different kinds of animals and their mad variety of wounds, and there were still plenty of supplies on hand to counter the worst effects of void corruption. "Like it or not, luv, you're going to be right as rain before long."
Once she was done wrapping the leg, she gave Toffee's antlers a soft rap with her knuckles. "Best prepare yourself, I'm coming back and one way or the other, you're going to have food in your belly before nightfall." The moose just huffed at her, but she saw it as a victory anyway; it was, after all, an answer.
And, of course, she was much more capable of wrestling his head to the ground as a worgen.
"Don't sulk, you great lump," she rumbled affectionately through grinning fangs as she patted his snout. "I'll do this as many times as I must, and you know it."
Toffee somehow managed to make the act of chewing sound grumpy. Vember took her leave, though she came back a bit later to put him on a lead and try to encourage him to take a walk with her. He resisted that, too, but only as long as it took for her to let out a long-suffering sigh and reach for his antlers. Toffee wasn't the most brilliant creature alive, but he wasn't stupid, either. He recognized when he was going to lose, and took a tentative step forward.
"You really are your father's son, Toffee." As she had when he was little, she rewarded him with a bit of candy, and though he hesitated, he did eventually take it. The walk was rather pleasant, all things considered, but Toffee always returned to his spot by the fence line to watch the horizon as soon as she let him. That hurt, she couldn't heal on her own.
If Terry made a liar out of her, she was going to find him herself and drag him back to the grove by his bloody ear.

( I know it's Roe-vember, and imma get to that 'cause I really wanna gush about Eyri's family too, and I haven't really talked about Eyri period because I don't know how to be a functional blog
but I've had the BIGGEST want to talk about Eyri's Amaroutine self, so BUCKLE UP FOLKS THAT CARE ENOUGH TO READ MORE we're on a wild ride into chilo's subconscious
Euphrosyne is the name of the Greek goddess of joy, mirth, and good cheer. She's also one of the three Charities, sister-goddesses to fill the world with pleasant moments and good will. Likewise, my little Amaroutine is a bundle of cheer and, if I'm being honest, an Ancient copy of Eyri. The OG Eyrilona. The progenitor sunshine.
Except now I excuse her childishness 'cause she's much younger than her fragmented counterpart.
Tumblr media
While initially just looking for old Latin/Greek names that I liked (I'm picky, and I kept digging for something or someone with ties to the sea. For extra pickiness, I begged and pleaded there'd be one that started with an E, but I was amendable to ones that weren't. It was a busy day on Wikipedia), I found Euphrosyne to be a good match. I liked the name (my housemate suggested I shorten it to Euphie, because I'm Code Geass trash and he likes to hurt me), and Eyri's already a bundle of sunshine, it'll be funny to reference the goddess of literal joy, right?
Then, I started writing this post, and the rabbit hole went deeper once I did more than just skim the Wikipedia article.
Euphrosyne the goddess is the daughter of Zeus. Euphie of Amaurot is the daughter of @twotonedechoes' Hades. I'm already a big subscriber to Laha, Eli, and Emet being named after the Greek pantheon big three
Her mother is the Oceanid (or ocean nymph) Eurynome (a close second in the decision race tbh). Eyrilona's mother is a Sea Wolf to her grave, a woman of the sea and a Captain in the Lominsan Navy.
Eyri also has three siblings, and while only one sister, her eldest is a forgemaster at Naldiq & Vymelli's. Euphrosyne's half-brother is Hephaestus, the god of metallurgy, blacksmiths/armorers/craftsmen, etc.
Coincidence?! I think not!! (Except it totally is though, and i'm absolutely tickled at the irony.)
Anyway ONTO THE GIRL HERSELF!!
Tumblr media
Euphrosyne, nicknamed Euphie, was a child of Amaurot, and daughter of Hades. She was a budding scholar, a rallying force amidst her peers, an excitable and curious sort, always with a smile and kind word to offer those she encountered. Forever striving for a seat among the Convocation of Fourteen, she gave every project, every debate, every moment of her studies both material and magical her greatest efforts, and though perhaps not the most shining of examples, she truly went above and beyond to embrace the community of Amarout.
The Akademia was like a second home to her. An interest piqued could mean moons of study, or perhaps only a few hours, but it mattered not to Euphie if it meant she acquired new knowledge to tuck away for later.
Equal parts undeterred pest and dutiful student, she charmed and exasperated those around her. If allowed a moment, Euphie could prattle endlessly on the subjects of her current studies, could weave herself an endless web of questions and answers and theories and debate, and she could just as easily fall into utter and respectable silence, giving her peers and teachers and betters naught but her complete attention when it came their turn to speak.
She attended lectures and  debates and exhibits whenever possible, even when those around her insisted the subject at hand was far too advanced for her to comprehend. This often proved to be true, of course; she was still practically a child. However, daunting concepts were but challenges to be faced and overcome, and Euphie always gave it her all in trying to do so.
But she was not selfish in her learning. If she found a peer struggling with their own work, she would offer to assist them in whatever capacity they might require. Whether they simply needed a rallying word or a second mind to pick for ideas, she was always to throw herself into the work just as easily as she would one of her own projects.
It was never to gloat, never to primp and preen over what she had learned. While, yes, she may glow beneath any praise given to her, Euphie loved to see those around her succeed and learn and progress.
This readiness to help and her insatiable thirst for knowledge was obviously not without its consequences. Euphie was notorious for overexerting herself: collapsing while trying to weave magic beyond her limits, staying awake for days burrowed in her notes and the work of others, only to doze off in the middle of it all, or in the middle of a lesson, nearly without warning each time.
And, of course, with mind fit to burst with information, it came to no surprise that creation magicks often went awry from her thoughts wandering to another subject. ( “It’s a lovely day in Amaurot, and you’ve created a horrible goose...” )
Tumblr media
Among her teachers and peers, Lahabrea himself found in her the most captive of audiences. To a fault, in some cases. It was often teased that, when not at the heels of her father, she could be found in the shadows of Lahabrea. And there was a measure of truth to it: she had a poor habit of trailing at his heel, often toting around a tome or two, or some other object of interest she’d agreed to carry for him.
She held his opinion on matters in high regard, even if obtaining that opinion meant stretching his patience thin. And yet, it was a rare occurrence for him to lose that patience, or to turn her away. She understood his responsibilities were vastly more important than entertaining her curiosities, and tried to make certain she never overstepped.
It was whispered that she might even one day succeed him, ascend to the title of Lahabrea alongside the Convocation… and perhaps she might have, had the star’s calamitous end not unfolded as it had...

Hi, friends! Do you remember when I said I had some exciting news? Have you been waiting on pins and needles, the edge of your seat, holding your breath? Or, did you think I’d forgotten? Oh, ye of little faith, I forget nothing. Except, sometimes, I forget very important things, and, so… that’s not entirely true. But, I didn’t forget -this- important thing, which is the takeaway you should all be getting.
My very very exciting news is…. I wrote a book! Did you know I was a writer? I don’t know if I mentioned that, but I am, and I wrote a book to prove it.
I started a story on September 29th and by October, like, 18th I had over 80,000 words on it. I am so enormously proud of myself, but I was also really sad when I finished. I love the NaNoWriMo challenge, but almost every time I’ve attempted it, I’ve done it in the wrong month. So, I decided to write the NNWM Overlords, as I call them, and explain my predicament. That’s how I met my new friend. Fair warning: if you message me at any point, we are automatically friends. It’s an occupational hazard of… having no friends. I adopt people like a kind of sentient puddle, so, keep that in mind if you ever message me :) Anyway, I reached out to NNWM, and my new friend Wesley wrote back! He said that I am more than welcome to use my September/October novel word count for my NNWM novel entry….thing, and he also kindly sent me goodies, which I thought I’d take a picture of and show you. So, even though I did it in the wrong month, I still wrote a novel, and, even though that novel is a bit of a hot mess, and needs a lot of work to bring it up to snuff, it’s a novel. It’s a book that I wrote with a beginning, a middle, an end, acts, a progression of events, an emotional journey, dragons!— except there are no dragons in my story.
I was going to just coast through November, maybe do Inktober, but, like, Ink-vember, because doing things in the wrong months seems to be my aesthetics. However, I started talking with my mom the other day about another story I’m working on, and I think I’m going to try writing that novel as my NNWM submission. I just need to check that I can submit two stories! So, if you’re doing NNWM, and you’re looking for a friend, or if you’re just looking for a friend…I don’t have any friends, and everyone, even sentient puddles, need friends, so feel free to message me! And, to all the writers out there attempting NNWM this month: Good luck, my darlings!
Sincerely,
Kiwi.

This might be extremely triggering.
Dearest Mountain girl up in rocks of Sedimentary plains.
I'm sure by now you are worried.
Please don't be.
I am expecting some.. Fun.(sarcasm)
I shaved my beard for mo-ember to raise awareness for men's mental health and I remembered the tried to tell you...
I said everytime I shaved I cutt the flowers in your garden.
You didn't understand what it ment.
I was trying to tell you that everytime I shaved because of listening to people who nag me and conservative family members I would feel like the flowers that you were trying to grow in your garden were being chopped down,i wanted them to grow but i had a part time job, couldn't hold one down to well... I couldn't leave home as easy. As i tried to grow it out I always had thought of but i never lost sight of my beard I've seen it few times.
The last time was when I returned from colorado in 2016 but ultimately had to shave for a church responsibly. that shave hurt me mentally because I really liked it and I thought about you and how much you would of liked to of seen it but like a good servant of Mormonism and I shaved and did what I was told, oddly since leaving and before only recently have they been lifting rules and different other things this one dates back to counter-culture no surprises to your punk rocker who loved San Francisco for its counter-culture 60s history Anyway...so I was shaving for this mo-vember I herd your crying... You told me to stop and oh god that hurt. Then it happened... The tears.. I remember that time I came in to your house without being welcomed...and it hurt allot remembering the fragments the little I had left after so many times I've had to think about it and remember it just kept alternating...
So my mental health had a bit of no where expected experience so taking a hit, I decided I needed some time away from social media... but even while drained after a long day I want you to know about my day, even if you don't reply just so you had something to read.
Tonight is Halloween, I'm watching the new season 13 launch of doctor who.
I remember the doctor and I always like a good challenge, I also decided why not go for a intersting one given the circumstances.
*challenge accepted meme *
First challenge
Mo-vember raise awareness of men's mental health. Easy... Ehhh sort of...it's already been... Fun(sarcasm)
Second challenge
No nut November well that's difficult especially with onlyfans and a beautiful woman who uploads lewed pictures, but feel free to post whatever you want to post.
Third challenge.
Trying to distance myself off social media, because I have no entertainment up here but the four books i brought up with i assume by now you know about my bookmarks, But the internet/macbook and a TV with neon(it's like netflix) and shitty nz netflix. difficult...at least I got music (on Spotify and tidal)
Not so much a changelle but with a bit more time up my sleeves i'm trying to get back into song writing again and now that I'm safer per say I'm just a little worried I might reawaken some parts of me in the process but I'm taking my time and know my limit, I at least now i got an antipsych.
You have the right to know more but that's all I'm willing to talk publicly.
X maybe triple xxx.

Chapter 1: Preparation
(or read on ao3.)
“How bad does this sweater look?” Marius stood in his roommate’s doorway in a lumpy, bright orange sweater. It was one of those sweaters that wasn’t even bad in an ironic way. It was just bad. The orange brought out the freckles scattered over Marius’ Parisian nose and cheeks and down his neck and the lumpiness of the poorly executed stitches made the way he was hugging himself, awkwardly with his twig arms, seem even more nervous. Cosette said what she always said, and it was the truth.
“You look great.”
His shoulders relaxed a fraction so she continued. “And we talked about this. You’ve got to practice framing questions in a neutral, if not positive way.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled, face going pink. “I’m a little nervous about tonight.”
“Don’t be sorry,” she said. “Everything’s going to be okay.”
Cosette shut her laptop on the half-finished essay she was writing for her childhood trauma class. It wasn’t the most pleasant of assignments for the fall vacation but she was nearly finished and with any luck there were better things to come. She smoothed the hair out of her eyes and walked to her closet. He was still standing in the doorway so she gestured for him to come in and sit on her bed.
“Courfeyrac planned today for everyone to get together and have fun,” she said. She rummaged in the top of the closet for a moment. “If you’re not ready to tell him it’s okay you know? You should do it on your own terms.”
“I know,” he began, curling his knees to his chest and nestling his socked feet in her comforter. “It’s not that I don’t want to tell him. I’m just scared.”
“Of Courf?” She laughed, though not unkindly.
“Well when you say it like that it sounds stupid.”
“Whatever happens he won’t be mean.”
“I know. I just want him to you know…to feel…”
“You want him to feel the same.”
“Yeah.”
She had found what she was looking for and turned back to look at him. His hands were fumbling in his lap. His corduroys meshed oddly with the sweater in a way that made him look a little like a pumpkin.
“Here.” She held out a matching orange hat with a big pom pom at its top. “Wear this, it matches and it’s good luck.”
“Why is it good luck?”
“Because I said so that’s why.” She stuck the hat over his mess of hair and kissed him gently on the cheek.
He smiled, just a little so she could see the crooked row of his bottom teeth and she knew she’d done her job. “You’re going to be just fine Mari.”
***
Since he was small, people had told Enjolras that there were just some things he didn’t understand. They didn’t say this in hopeful, encouraging ways or try to explain what they meant. Consequently, any time the phrase was used he found it infuriating. I will understand he challenged. Or sometimes, when his patience ran thin or temper flared: Then it isn’t worth understanding.
Usually it was people. It was people and feelings and the self-destructive habits of a certain member of their group that he couldn’t understand. It had taken him a long time to warm up to the friends he had. Jokes never clicked with him in time to laugh with everyone else. It pissed him off at first that whenever R told a story he drew everyone in instantly. He could command a room with anything; a pointless anecdote or stupid impression could send the likes of Courfeyrac, Joly, and Bossuet into fits of laughter in an instant. Even Combeferre and Feuilly, who were usually the most focused members of their group, let Grantaire lead them astray, stifling snickers and exchanging bemused raised eyebrows.
When Enjolras captured people’s attention he did it with grand, sweeping prose. He did it by scaring them a little. It was a productive intensity, sure, but it was an intensity that didn’t translate well to causal settings. He sucked at Cards Against Humanity. He was too tense for dancing or drinking or Truth or Dare or anything else normal people did for fun.
“Are you ready to go? Feuilly just texted me the address.” Combeferre knocked on the door frame gently and came in when Enjolras nodded. They worked well as roommates because Ferre understood Enjolras’s privacy and personal space sensibilities and Enjolras didn’t mind that every free surface was covered with Ferre’s books. They were going to a hay bale maze put on by a local organization that worked with kids in the foster system. Feuilly and Eponine, being especially passionate about the cause, were volunteering. Since Enjolras and the other amis (save Grantaire) had been hard at work planning their next rally, they’d missed the deadline to volunteer as well. Nevertheless, now that the final posters and speeches and venues had been established, Courfeyrac had suggested they attend. For fun. And Enjolras wasn’t good at fun.
“Yeah,” He stood and rolled up the sleeves of his sweater, attempting to appear casual. Ferre’s eyebrows rose.
“You good?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he shot back defensively. R had been on his case about this outing all week. Joking, in that maddeningly sarcastic way of his, that their fearless leader was too uptight to spend a day on Earth with the rest of us mortals. He laughed at him when he argued, for what felt like the millionth time, that R was putting him up on an unnecessary pedestal. He’d shaken his head the way he always did, and clapped him on the shoulder. No one but R was so free with his touches, at least when it came to Enjolras, and something about it made Enjolras’s insides feel warm and liquidy. He wasn’t sure what to make of it. He sucked in a breath. Let’s just get this over with.
***
If Marius wasn’t going to take this hint Courf didn’t know what he was supposed to do. He’d told him at the last amis meeting that he wanted to hang out with him specifically on this trip. When Marius gave him a confused head tilt, he’d leaned in close so Enjolras wouldn’t notice them talking (and also because he liked being close to Marius Pontmercy) and asked him if they could do the maze, just the two of them.
Courfeyrac didn’t know if the look on Marius’s face was good surprise or bad but god he hoped it was good surprise.
It was stupid how long he’d had a crush on this dork. It was stupid how long he’d gone without saying anything about it. Tonight Courfeyrac was going to stop being stupid.
Bahorel was driving (despite everyone’s best judgement as he’d honked the horn five times and they’d only been driving for ten minutes) and gradually everyone was piling into the beat up SUV: Bossuet, Joly, and Musichetta climbing over the first row of seats to squish themselves in the back. They didn’t mind. They were usually in a big tangled heap. Enjolras took shot gun and Combeferre knowingly slid over to make room for Marius to sit beside Courf. Marius and Cosette got in last.
“Hey,” he said gently, as Marius was pushed into his space. The sweater he was wearing was horrendous. Courf loved it.
“Hey,” Marius replied. Bahorel was cranking the radio as Enjolras rose his voice to be heard over it as he repeated GPS instructions. There was already a twinge of annoyance to his voice, probably because Grantaire was meeting them there instead of riding with the rest of the amis.
He shifted so he could face Marius directly and read the nervousness written on his face. “Are you okay?” Courf was good at reading Marius in particular. He knew, just by a glance, when it was time to rescue him at a party. Last year at New Years Marius had gotten himself trapped by the punch bowl and surrounded by a number of drunk party goers. Courf had woven his way through confetti covered friends and friends of friends and slipped his hand into Marius’s. He remembered how relieved he’d looked when they made it outside. The freezing air was preferable to the heat of the crowd, at least for Marius. Courfeyrac thrived in the scalding joy of a dance floor and warm comfort of piling on an unfamiliar couch with people who knew your secrets just by looking at you. But he’d go anywhere for Marius Pontmercy.
“I’m okay,” he said. Courf glanced down and saw that Cosette had put her hand on Mari’s knee. She was looking out the window. “I’m excited to uh...to do the maze with you. I just hope we don’t get lost.”
Courfeyrac grinned. “Yeah,” he laughed.  “Yeah, and I’m excited too.”
He didn’t think anyone would be getting lost tonight.

Now-vember Challenge [NC#1]
Welcome a new month. This new month means a new thing for me. Perhaps for everybody else too. I had a plan for this new month while commuting home by train yesterday. The result of that train-contemplating is this: a challange. To be more spesific it is a writing-challange.
This writing challenge has nothing to do with writing competition or what so ever. It is a personal planning to dare my self to be consistent at writing. To be good writer is one of my dream. I always see being a writer is a cool job. Imagine, you only need a pen and paper, or in this era you just need a laptop, doesnt have to be a high-end laptop, just a regular laptop; and then you can pour everything you have in your mind in the form of words. I even envy some people who can write so awesome right from their mobile phones. If writing is a hobby, it is so simple. If it is a job, it is also can be done in any situation. It is cool from any perspective.
So I plan for this new month two challenges:
First, daily writing: in this month I have to force my self to write every day and upload it on blog. I used to write in my personal journal. It is like my sanctuary. The place when I put everything I want and I don't want. But, as its name, a personal journal means so personal. In one side it is good because I can be free to write anything. Like Cyril Connolly said, It is better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for public and have no self.
But in the other side I kind of lack of motivation for writing. Let say this writing challenge, if I do it in my journal, chances are I am going to end up with ten to twelve writings at the end of the month. It feels like I don't have any responsibility to write daily, or maybe some more important things just pop up and I have to take them as a priority. Then the writing challenge get forgotten.
So, publishing the challenge in blog is one of solution. At least I will have social responsibility to write. Hey, there are five million people reading your post about your promise to write daily, why haven't you written anything yet? Kidding, actually there are only a couple of people will read my post. Knowing they read my blog, my mind will keep telling me to write. Shame on you, still not writing while the world knows you're gonna write! I wasn't kidding about the part 'world knows'. My wife is big fans of my blog, and she means the world to me. Eciye.
Second, English writing: In these last 6 months, there is only one chance that I use English in writing: chatting. Chatting means writing with shortened-word, alay vocabularies, emoticoned sentences and everything that will not help me for real writing. As a person who still needs a huge improvement in English writing I need to practice more. Blogging is -again- a solution for this.
So, I make a day in a week to write English. I put Wednesday as an English-writing day. There is no philospical reason behind this day. It is just I know that I will have so many mistakes in my English blogging, wether it is grammatical fault, inappropriate words, wrong spelling, typographical error, un-sensible sentenses and many other mistakes. Despite all those disgusting mistakes, I will keep writing English every Wednesday. I name this day as English-Writing Wednesday. In short: Eww!
So this is my 30-day challenge. By the end of November I will have 30 blog posts and 5 English posts (including this one). And as far as I can remember, I have never done this before, so it will be the first.
I think it is fun to make small challenge monthly. Another good side of this is that I will make blogging as a daily habit. One of my bad behavior that makes me imperfect blogger is: thinking to blog perfectly. Too much thinking what I write on blog will end up with no writing. And it is totally wrong.
Planning to write is not writing. Outlining, researching, talking to people about what you are doing, none of that is writing. Writing is writing.
There is no excuse no more. This month is the perfect time to begin blogging writing habit. Write now, or never. So, welcome NOWvember!

30 days of Never-vember!
Day 1: A typical day in your hero or knight captain’s life Day 2: Your character meeting your favorite party member for the first time Day 3: Your character meeting your LEAST favorite party member for the first time Day 4: Your character and chosen party members lounging about at camp or in a tavern Day 5: An embarrassing situation during an adventure Day 6: The most impactful event your character went through Day 7: Your character and/or party members in the modern day DMV Day 8: A character or party member’s birthday! Revelation pt. 3
Daily Writing Challenge 2021 Day 18: Precognition/Collapse
Flecks of gold plumed up and curled into ashy powder in his wake as Terry's exposed flesh went up like kindling. The fine dust was caught up by a draft that he couldn't feel and disappeared into the ether. Immolation felt surprisingly peaceful, once the initial, horrifying agony had reached critical mass and he simply stopped processing it. This felt rather more...floaty?...than shock, even.
Tumblr media
With monumental effort, he raised his right hand, and was surprised to find a hand still there. Not his hand, obviously--his hands didn't glow like this. It was almost like trying to see the shape of the sun: staring at it longer made it both easier and harder to pick out the edges and boundaries of his fingers, and even more so to tell if they were moving. It occurred to him after a moment that his hand was also much too big. He could probably crush his own skull with this meathook.
Do you hear me now, outspoken child?
His mind was trying very hard to ...not shut down, shutting down was too abrupt, and still a function. His brain was simply trying to stop. It was tired; he was tired. And more and more of his body was going all... glowy. The sensation was oddly comfortable, like slipping into warm bathwater after a long day, a stark contrast to the searing nightmare that had happened moments ago. It was impossible to speak, and thinking was another herculean trial.
...e...on...ar?
He was immediately awash in warmth and the inexplicable scent of a summer breeze that would have brought homesick tears to his eyes if he'd had the ability. There was also the intense urge to climb a tree that wasn't there. That one was familiar enough that he let out another weak huff of a laugh, at once relieved and resigned. Finally, something that wasn't out to kill him.
No, my ally. I am most certainly not here to kill you.
It was impossible to be certain, with the mass of Revendreth immense in his vision and badly blurred, but Terry thought he'd stopped falling. Or drifting. Or whatever the right word was. Everything was either grey or black and, immeasurably far up above him (and just below his chin), gleaming gold.
Why..?
You called for me. I came.
I called? ... I did... yes. So long ago. Where... Terry couldn't quite muster up the strength to be furious, only heaving the question like a great mental sigh. Where were you?
Your enemies are...very dedicated to keeping you to themselves. I heard only that plea, and tiny remnants of others. I could not see, and could barely hear. I am sorry for the way I found you. It is never my wish to cause pain.
He could feel himself squint. ...the elementals? That was you?
Yes. It was the only way to bring you into my sight.
There was a pregnant silence where he would have been laughing if he could. When he actually did hear himself bark aloud, he startled himself. The exhaustion was still there, but some of the rawness... he felt a little less like a fragment of himself. And as he had that thought, he noticed that he could feel pain again. As much as he would have preferred not to, he knew that that was an improvement, not a punishment.
What are you doing?
To Terry's puzzlement, there was another pause, a feeling that the Lifebinder was hesitating. I had intended to save you. But I realize... this was not our agreement.
Terry closed his eyes, now that he knew he could and it would matter. It was nice to actually see darkness, instead of seeing nothing or not being able to change his view at all.
You are so tired, child. She sounded very much like his mother in that moment, and he found comfort in that without fighting it, for a change.
I am. ...Will I get to see them again?
No. But that is not your fault.
Instantly, his eyes flew open. What does that mean?
You have gone where you were likely destined to go, as you were. But had you gone there the proper way--at the end of your part in the cycle--you would not have ended up there.
Before he had a chance to get cross and tell her to stop talking in circles and riddles at him, Terry felt himself shifting around, rolling over until he was no longer looking at the rocky underside of Revendreth. Instead, he faced a gaping, awful hole like a collapsing star that would consume entire galaxies, and the warmth in his body suddenly disappeared. The longer he stared, the easier it was to make out the constant flow of countless little specks disappearing into the gaping gullet. Raw dread filled him when he figured out what the specks were.
The balance is undone. You, as they did, would have ended up in this consuming pit called the Maw.
What?!
Forgive me, child. There is chaos in the fabric of all things. I could not see.
His heart sank to the same depths as the day he'd woken up in Darnassus and learned that not only had his parents died, his country had too. At the same time, his jaw clenched, and he was warmed again by his own boiling blood. Maybe he might have deserved whatever the Maw was, but his parents sure as shit didn't.
But I see now. And I return to the bargain we made.
Terry was turned over again, and he couldn't decide whether it was better or worse to look away from the hole in the universe. At least he felt less hollow inside this way. A new wash of exhaustion rolled over him, and he closed his eyes once more. When did it end? Was there always going to be something worse waiting in the wings?
I have already borrowed your strength, and it served me well. I have returned it thus. But... it seems to me that I must offer you the choice, before I lend my own.
...How do you mean?
You are tired, and it seems to me, deservedly so. I can end your suffering, and usher you to the fate you would have properly earned if you so wish. Revendreth would likely have been your proper destination. This time, you would encounter it as a soul, rather than a man.
He frowned a little. And the alternative?
I can finish what I already started, burn away the twisted shell that contains your essence, and build it anew. You would return as a living man to Revendreth, and from there, seek a remedy for this sickness on the cosmos. There will be great suffering in this endeavor, as all battles create. You might not return to your mate or offspring for a very long time. You might not return at all, and die, and be condemned to the Maw regardless.
You are a terrible salesman.
You demanded honesty. She was being cheeky. He appreciated that. I now ask you to place your trust in me, and accept the mantle of champion.
Either way, he wasn't going to see Dwyn or his children again. Not for a while, if at all. He'd already thought it impossible a dozen times over, all the way back in the desert on Azeroth. It was hard to hold out hope in the face of that; harder still to do it after that, and being stolen away to what turned out not to be Hell, but Purgatory. He'd clung to determination, to stubbornness, instead; he could accept those in place of hope. He would see them again because he swore that he would, not because things had to turn out okay somehow.
And his parents were down there, somewhere, too. Was that going to happen to the rest of his family? To Leon? To Vember? Alynore? Ansul? Pin? Jia?
What good was his oath if he didn't try everything to follow it, even blind, mad, dangerous faith?
What did he have left to lose?
If ever there was a worthy price for his free will... this was it.
All right. I guess I'm storming Hell.

Daily Writing Challenge 2021 Day 24: Revelry/Denial
**I wouldn’t repost an older one like this because I feel lazy, but I’m already annoyingly far behind, this blurb is a good one to reference right now after all the stuff I just wrote about Terry’s Super Great Not At All Bad Totally Wonderful Day, and I did go back and clean it up first.**
**DON’T JUDGE ME I TRIED**
He’d put things off entirely too long. How months had slipped by since he’d gotten the news, Leon really wasn’t sure, but he could lay a pretty solid wager that he was still just as good at avoiding grief as he’d always been.
His brother was, by all accounts, dead. Granted… he’d only gotten the one account. And Terry had died before. Not one of those near-death-but-pulled-through deaths either; he had been killed and was brought back. At least twice, that Leon had been made aware of. Knowing his own penchant for getting in over his head and that Terry’s was exponentially worse (or better, depending on one’s perspective), he could only assume there were others. Terry and Shedwyn led bizarre lives; being married to a Meddler always did that, even if Terry was a Dragoon. The Silver Dragoons knew damn well they were so Meddler-adjacent as to be virtually indistinguishable by now: Adventurers, but they at least tried to adhere to military structure.
Still… Leon had no idea how to process it. And usually, if Terry was going to come back, he’d have done it by now. Or at least, Leon would have received word of it by now. Shedwyn kept him appraised, and if Shedwyn didn’t, then Vember did. But…there had been nothing.
Talking to anybody else about it–not just about the possibility that Terry really was dead this time, but that he might not be dead–got frustrating results. Most of them used the word ‘denial’ several times. But it wasn’t quite the same when the guy had actually come back from the actual dead before.
No body? No certainty. They’d found his armor, most of his gear, but no traces of the man. Which could have been because he’d been stranded in a desert and had that… melting…disease…thing… Goo evaporated, right? That was the running theory. He’d been stranded in the deserts in Uldum alone, gone too long without his medicines, slowly melted, and then burned away under the sunlight before anybody even found him.
Thanks, N'Zoth.
Tumblr media
It still felt wrong, though. Maybe that was denial. Maybe that was why Leon hadn’t talked to Shedwyn yet. Maybe she was grieving too, and could have used the company, and he’d been too up his own ass to think of it, and he was a terrible sibling and sibling-in-law.
Maybe it was a blend of the two.
Either way, he needed to talk to Shedwyn, so he made his way out to Duskwood. Either they’d both drive themselves crazy coming up with theories, she’d confirm it for him, and he could finally figure out how to process it all, or… gods, what else? Who knew. Meddlers…
Leon was not counting on the possibility that Shedwyn would simply not be home. Nor that their stead stood largely empty, devoid of pets or people, save a few attendant staff. One of whom had almost whooped his ass for getting past the wards (he was family, he’d been allowed ages ago) and actually knocking on the door.
Very wisely not moving as he spoke, Leon offered a weak smile. “…You must be th’ nanny, then?”
The Pandaren slowly lowered her foot from its position one inch away from Leon’s larynx. “Ah. I see the resemblance now. You are the brother, then. I am Shufen. My condolences to you.”
“Ah…yeah, thanks Is Shedwyn’ ere? She’s not answ'rin’ 'er comm any, 'asn’t in days.”
“I would be surprised if she has answered it in weeks, given where she has been.”
“I’m gonna regret askin’, aren’t I."
"That depends on whether you regret not knowing, as I was not permitted to tell you."
"Oh come o–"
"Specifically you. 'Do not tell Leon about this; he will do something stupid.’ Her words."
Leon started to reply, but paused and rubbed the back of his neck.
Shufen shrugged one shoulder in a vague form of apology. "I would not have quoted her, but she advised that I do so because you would agree with her assessment."
"No wonder she 'ates it when I do it to 'er.”
“It is very grating to be known so well, yes. That is why I will tell you anyway; she is doing something I feel is inadvisable and should probably be dragged kicking and screaming back here to take care of her living family and obligations."
Leon blinked. "Come again?"
"Shedwyn never really accepted the death of her husband. Asked me almost every day if there was word about or from him yet, even after the man’s captain had started sending her military stipends upon his declaration of death. The banshee-queen shattering the sky like she did and all the horrible rumors about where our departed are going now… she leapt at the chance to find him and bring him back. Her children have been left in Ironforge with the Truthhammers. Executorship of her orchards was granted to me until her return or one year from her departure, whichever comes first."
"She what?!” The flash of panic was just that, coming and going almost immediately as Leon actually let the thought filter through. His shoulders sagged. “…’ Course she did. O' course she did."
Shufen merely nodded. She’d already gone through the same mental hurdles months ago. "Indeed. So, I remain here, gainfully employed but incredibly irritated with my mistress, while hoping she survives and returns sane before the heat death of the universe."
The Gilnean could only smile at that last bit. "She rubbed off on y’, huh."
"Ugh, do not remind me. Go, do whatever it is you intend to do about it. I have now devoted entirely too much direct thought to the state of my employer and friend and would like some very strong tea."
"Um. Right. Thank you, miss. Enjoy yer tea."
At the man’s use of the word 'tea,’ the Pandaren woman smirked, pulled a steel flask from her pocket for him to see, and winked. "Safe journey to you, Mr. Ambroce.”
Before he’d had a chance to respond, she shut the door in his face and locked it.
Leon stood there for a minute or two in contemplative silence before he turned on his heel and spat in the dirt by Toffee’s empty pen.
Of all the ways this visit could’ve gone, I was not ready for the possibility I might be right. Why am I never ready for that?
As he took to the sky, he heaved a tremendous mental sigh. If absolutely nothing else… he needed to find Shedwyn, now.
He was pretty sure Pin would get it, and Kaewynn would probably come around, but Valarin was gonna strangle him.

I am so fucking here for these tags @neverwintermuses
I think part of what makes Sand so appealing is the fact that he DOESNT constantly spill his spaghetti like some of the other romance options. I guess it means that part of what makes Sand such an attractive romance option to me is that you approach him, he’s not about to shove the KC into an uncomfortable position with unwarranted attention.
We were actually talking about it once before-

I love going back to read this because Sand would have been the perfect romantic addition. Like, seriously. But have it not be triggered until the KC says something clearly personal or flirtatious.

Love Neverwinter Nights 1 and/or Neverwinter Nights 2? Never played it but you're curious about them? Have parts of the game(s) or characters that you're just dying to talk about? Frustrated that there's not enough fandom content for these treasures?
The Neverwinter Nighting discord server is open to any who are interested (or even want to be a fly on the wall)!
There is no special process or sign up or anything, just hop right in. It is recommended to clarify what pronouns you go by and whether you are 18 or older in order to access additional content and discussion.
Hope to see you guys there!
