Draconification

These characters don't show up in the game, but I love the idea of Naydra, Dinraal, and Farosh being zonai that went through draconification. I seem to be drawn to drawing characters with potentially tragic backstories that are never looked into.

I cut some corners with the outfits (that's a lot of jewelry and details wow), but I'm very happy with how this turned out. In the english versions of the game the dragons are referred to as female, so I drew them as either feminine or ambiguous. 

I'd like to draw more Zelda in between my Undertale/ Delatrune stuff- I think it will be fun. I'll mostly be doing TOTK and WW, so please look forward to those. But for now, I get back to working on TSWFBY.

WOT show-onlys/newcomers when a reader reblogs their post making a smug little book-spoiler-related joke that they think is so slick and subtle but in fact blatantly spoils something because anybody with a modicum of critical thinking ability could figure out what the joke references even if they haven't read that part in the books

It's such a minor detail but I absolutely love the way that the dialogue in the final battle against the Masked Man pauses as it's being written out. It really captures hesitation and uncertainty in Claus's movements as the combined efforts of Lucas and Hinawa finally get through to him; the first aching moments of him snapping out of his mind control and taking back his autonomy in years; the brief hesitation -- almost as though in shock and disbelief -- as the lightning deflects off the Franklin Badge and strikes Claus. It almost feels like the textboxes themselves are their own character or represent the emotional states of both Lucas and the player in that moment. Incredible.

A reactionary comic about rereading a fic that I recently recommended that was way darker than I remembered, lol. I still love it for how they pretty much drive each other crazy, but that word choice and the consent issues... *cringes* At least there are valid warnings beforehand, and the first fic was pretty PG. He cleared his throat. “Hey guys.”  Pearl gave him an awkward wave. Cleo bit back a grin. “Do you need a hand?” Etho asked, setting his bowl down. “No, your boat needs a lesson in standing still.” “Is this your first time on one?” Tango questioned in a mocking tone. Cleo scoffed and muttered something about the ocean. “No! I’ve been on a boat before,” Joel argued defensively, “Just not recently. And my legs only started working like, an hour or two ago.” Grian coughed. "Anyone going to introduce me?" "Oh, right." Etho dragged Joel over. "Grian, this is Joel, he escaped with us. Joel, this is Grian, he stowed away with us some years ago, haven't been able to get rid of him since. He's like a leech." "Hey!" "If anything, he's more like a seagull." Pearl commented, grinning. "Oh? And how's that?" Grian huffed, crossing his arms. "Constantly annoying us and always begging for food!" Pearl laughed loudly, swiftly joined by others. Grian made some disgruntled noises. "You guys are horrible, I should have stayed with Mumbo." He pouted.

In typical first D&D character fashion, they’re an edgy elven rogue with no parents and a tragic backstory. And of course throughout the course of the campaign (CoS), things did not get any better— hence the elk antlers !

Jonathan begins the entry stating that he can’t speculate or he’s going to completely spiral.

Let me be prosaic so far as facts can be; it will help me to bear up, and imagination must not run riot with me. If it does I am lost.

Jonathan has no certain way to know what Dracula’s invisibility or response to the glass means, but he does know what losing the glass means physically for himself, so he focuses on that.

Jonathan refuses to write down any speculations. He has them - he airs fears at the beginning of the entry that he’s “the only living soul within the place” - but in this isolated castle filled with shadows, he needs his journal to be an account he can trust, and to do that he can only write what he’s certain of.

He does something similar when mentioning Dracula’s eating habits:

It is strange that as yet I have not seen the Count eat or drink. He must be a very peculiar man! 

Jonathan doesn’t dare speculate further, but he can’t help but note that it is, indeed, strange.

epithet erased kids show au

what if epithet erased was a cartoon network show for little kids about superheroes

my pitch: sweet jazz city is a city of crime and a team of local superheroes called the banzai blasters stop bad guys from stealing stuff one 13-minute episode at a time

it’s out there but like hear me out. instead of being criminals bc it’s a kids show all of the protagonists would be superheroes. molly and giovanni would lead a team of heroes with sylvie, phoenica, trixie, and rick. it would be in small 13 minute episodes with very simple, toned down plots based off of each book. you could probably view each episode in any order with the overarching plot that the banzai blasters have to keep the arsene amulet safe from bad guys.

museum arc could be a chase to beat mera and indus to the arsene amulet and could be the backstory episode for the team. western arc has the team working together with percy and ramsey to take down zora with teamwork morals. prison of plastic is just prison of plastic with lorelai who is just a bully in this au bc it’s just a kids show, teach bullying is bad and all that. horizontal pilot command from what is revealed so far could be about how to succeed the team needs to trust eachother, yada yada…

other stuff: naven and yoomtah are this universe’s version of jessie and james from pokémon. bliss ocean, and pretty much everyone is less of a threat and more complicated epithets like lorelai’s “augment” would be toned down to words like “create”. rick, sylvie, naven, yoomtah and giovanni would probably around molly’s age so they could all be classmates or whatever. the cartoon would probably have an art style similar to fairly odd parents/powerpuff girls/total drama island.
