So, I think that the last time the spirits gathered was sometime around when Twilight was still alive, we know that Time had direct contact with Twilight because of the comic panels in the last update.

We also know that Time recognised Sky when he first appeared in the last update.

So there one of two explanations

The medallion or something akin to it has been used in a previous hero's journey. And so some of the spirit already know each other

Or being a spirit grants them foresight that they can just fight with each other like this.

Im more inclined to lean towards the first one at this stage because of that recognition from time but to be honest I think we need to meet Twilight first before we get any answers about that.

I am also going to assume the element that time yields is Electricity (Or time haha.)

It looks like lightning, but we've also seen him use a time spell so I'm not entirely sure at this stage.

Gonna lean towards lighting tho, it suits him

gold and pink and glittering: 498, Hartwin, E. I'm still surprised to this day how much people liked it. First smut in several years.

the lean and hungry type: 453, Obikin, E. First time getting to do alpha/beta, and written from around 11pm to 4 am and then another hour proofreading. I was mildly delirious, ngl.

offer a little salt for that wound: 463, Hartwin, E. OOH man I had this one in my head and wouldn't leave me tf alone. My plot bunnies aren't USUALLY visual, but this one was!

Not outside of TMA. It's been absolutely lovely being in Kingsman / Obikin fandoms. I genuinely showed up here low-key scared for my life, and I've been shown nothing but kindness and support.

Yes, and welcome to the first of the "UH IDK? [awkward shrug/hand wave]" questions because... I have no idea how to answer that. Like, what are the quantifiers here? Level of depth (NO PUN INTENDED) in how explicit it is, or what bits are rubbing against what bits, or like, if I specialize in any particular kind of smut (if there aren't pins for "I WRITE BDSM SMUT", I demand we print them) or— tldr: IDK. Vibe. The vibe kind. oh my god not vibrator vibe brain why are you doing this

10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Nope. I've thought about fusions, though! Like, I feel a fic where Obi-Wan is a Kingsman and picks Anakin as his candidate--maybe it was Qui-Gon's dying request still, and when Obi-Wan became a knight and a seat next opened up, he reluctantly said, FINE.

(Now I'm wondering what knight Obi-Wan would be. Gawain? The original version of him, not the vulgarized mythos of later romances. Which leaves Anakin to be Agravaian, which is pretty perfect tbh. I mean he could also be Mordred since they're all brothers)

11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yup! Multiple times. It never stops feeling Not Okay.

Ahh, sadly the post-Vday canon divergence Hartwin fic. I'm told it stands on its own as is, though. So maybe that counts for something?

UH SO FUNNY STORY. I watched IT (the TV series) when I was like, 7. Was very confused for many reasons (partly because I missed the first hour) but also i was a Weird Child, and also Not American.

But! I didn't know it was based off a book written by a dude, so one day I just... started writing the story down in a notebook when I was 8. Because I figured I liked the movie (I assumed it was a movie at the time) so much, why NOT turn it into something to read?

20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?

Beholding's Own. Lightning-in-a-bottle kind of situation, 10+ year break from writing, and also re-entering fandom after said 10+ year long break. It's really hard to live up to that kind of fondness.

From new fics? the devil is a gentleman. I can't help it, this Obi-Wan and Anakin are hilarious. They are so dumb and yet so smart.

Would you look at that? Another update? So soon? Well, it's to be expected after WHAT I've read today hahah... 3 ½ hours of losing my mind, definitely worth an update! Reached chapter 1177 thanks to the desperation to reach a safe spot!

God, there's so much to talk about. I have to restrain myself from just endlessly talking about how much I love Klein Moretti rn. Like. So much. I will definitely be sprinkling my love for him in this post. A lot. I'll do that a lot.

OK, FOR A THOROUGH DISCUSSION, I'll pick up the chat from the ending of volume 5. Which means I'll talk about like... 20 chapters? Hm. They definitely felt more than 20 in number.

Amon kidnapped Klein after Klein successfully destroyed King George III's ritual, so he was exhausted and spent. Perfect opportunity for Amon, ngl.

The subsequent time spent together was full of ups and downs. Amon gave Klein hope that was barely in his reach until BOOM the reveal that it wasn't an avatar, but the actual true body! Man, wasn't that stressful.

That also came with the realization that Amon can't bear the risk of stealing Klein's destiny just like that. Win! For now...

We reach the destination that Amon was going for (in the Forsaken Land of the Gods, btw!! God, what a crazy place...) and there, ANOTHER motherfucking bomb gets left at our door.

Fucking Chernobyl. Fucking- it's Earth! It's always been Earth!

(That was spoiled in a partial manner to me. Like, I saw someone mention "Chernobyl" in relation to LOTM and I was like "wait what? No way- AH, NO THINKING ABOUT IT. IT'S SPOILERS" but inevitably I connected some dots.

Like, I distinctly remember how Roselle attempted to bring forth the industrial revolution, but when he searched for oil and such fuels, he was unsuccessful. Which made me think about the Chernobyl thing and wonder if the previous humans used it all up and eventually perished, but then another civilization rose and that's the present.

But uh. I didn't know about the fact that the ancestors of vampires and elves are ALSO humans?? Like wow. Incredible)

Paired with that comes the realization that Klein can't go home. Technically, he IS home. Just... not in his era :') AGH I cried. ESPECIALLY when he conjured the silhouettes of people dear to him that have long since perished. IT WAS SO SAD WBSJJDJD Man...

After that dreadful discovery, Klein doesn't let that stop his desire to escape Amon, implementing Another escape attempt, helped by the Evernight Goddess. Gosh, his escape attempts were so creative! And the interactions between him and Amon were so funny after them too lmao

Anyway, after Chernobyl, Klein digested the Scholar of Yore potion successfully AND escaped to Sefirah Castle after committing suicide (what an ODD way to escape).

And next, we have Klein thinking of ways to get back on his feet AND analyze his experiences. Which brings us to the NEXT big thing!

The third "transmigrator" is in fact the Evernight Goddess!

(Ok, I got fully spoiled on that. Booooooo...)

Still! She's taking such good care of Klein <33 what a lovely lady <33

During the Tarot Club, he put in motion his plans: collecting what he needs for the Miracle Invoker potion and strengthening the Tarot Club.

And thanks to the combined effort of Pallez, Derrick and himself of course, he successfully revived in the City of Silver and ran away! Yay!

That's where I am right now. But Man, the road to getting here was emotional.

Poor Klein... hunted from so many directions, no home to return to, friends and family to protect.

And let's not ignore the fact that Klein successfully escaped Amon!!! I mean, SURE, Amon was "playing" with him in a way. But that doesn't mean he wasn't taking Klein seriously, he just had a different goal than killing Klein, which was to take ownership of Sefirah Castle.

Klein is so resourceful, so determined, so intelligent. I adore himmm! Ahhhh and sometimes, he makes me sad, but he keeps going and that's just... hah... admirable.

Praise the Fool! Can't wait to read more, but definitely not tonight. Finally reached a point where I can close the book with a light heart, I'm not risking starting another stressful arc hahahah...

Vocaloid 6 Voicebank Thoughts

Less formal than a "review" but I wanted to share my thoughts on the V6 banks I have and have used. Ngl it's primarily positive, and y'all may have noticed I tend to use V6 more than I use SynthV just because I have more fun with Vocaloid. These are more or less gonna be in order by when I used them. I also might add to this post if/when I acquire new banks. Anyways here goes:

Allen

I really enjoy the tone of his bank, it's a sort of RnB/trap/rap-esque voice and that's not common in vocal synths so I appreciate it

English is really clear and the Japanese accent is also passable - mandarin isn't so good but I also barely use mandarin so

Goes falsetto when he goes high which in the right song goes hard

Probably my favorite of the four "default" banks

Sarah

A nice, solid, more mature sounding voice with is always welcome imo

Dunno if I've ever finished a whole song with her in english but I like her in Japanese just as much tbh

Once again, the mandarin needs work. I'm wondering if that's not just all of the V6 banks that were recorded for english

Unfortunately her voice tends to lose power in the higher range which makes her hard to use sometimes (but, most AI banks, not even just vocaloid ones, also have this issue.)

Tied with Haruka for second favorite default bank

She kinda leans into the "cute little girl" voicetype but, it's still unique and has a rich quality to it

Once again I've never used her in full for english but I can't complain about her english really, I just have other banks I'd rather use for english??

Her mandarin is pretty good actually! I've noticed banks recorded for japanese handle mandarin better.

She also loses power when she goes high but it's less noticeable than with Sarah, since Haruka's less powerful to begin with

As stated previously, she's tied with Sarah for second place in the "default bank" category

Seriously he's not bad but he is the most Generic Male Voice on the market

Literally just "the Kaito we have at home"

I almost forgot he even existed and went straight to the next vocal on my list before realizing my mistake

I pretty much only ever use him for backing vocals, like octave down harmonies that are out of the main singer's range

Gumi is love, Gumi is life,

Far higher quality than any of the default banks, like not even in the same league. Literally she's better in every conceivable way

The english accent is a little worse than the V3 english bank but by far more natural sounding, so it makes up the difference

Her mandarin is decent. Not much else to say, and I think Haruka's might be a little bit better???

Pretty much the only bad thing is that once again, the bank loses power in the higher register and that's hard to compensate for.

Regardless, easily my favorite voice for the engine. Period. Every time I tune her I have a blast.

Her english is also very clear and natural sounding. I've used her more in english than in japanese (which is funny since she was recorded for JPN lol)

In general, she feels more expressive than the others because her tone varies a lot depending on pitch

With that said, her range feels a lot more limited - she switches into falsetto almost immediately upon hitting C4 (C5 in UTAU) but she also can't go too far below C3 (C4 in UTAU) without starting to sound robotic

Even so, she's probably my second favorite V6 bank after Gumi

Una (Spicy)

Finally finally finally a voicebank that doesn't lose the powerful tone in the upper register

Her english is good but it's the only one where I've had to use extensive phoneme editing like you would in a V3/V4 non-native bank

Sometimes the english phonemes sound a little weird, especially [e], [I], and [V]

Still, it's the Una Spicy tone we all know and love

The styles Una comes with kinda suck actually, Gumi and Fuiro both had style presets that make them sound great but idk what's up with Una's

I still love her tho, especially having a powerful vocal that can also go high and stay powerful

Soft, but still has Una's solid, cutesy tone

English is a bit better than Spicy's but still not great (what happened here? the others cross language synth just fine)

The Sugar styles are also better than Spicy's styles but still not great (again not sure what happened there)

okay so that was VERY interesting.

tl;dr for anyone that doesnt have time to watch - ryan says that the neck-grab was more about viserys. daemon really wanted to hurt viserys and hes always seen rhaneyra as just an extension of viserys. he basically implies it was always truly viserys that daemon wanted to attention and love of, to be the partner of.

I'm really trying to figure out what he means by this, and I'm wondering if you're right and he means that Daemon wanted to be to Viserys what Visenya was to Aegon, to give him everything, to be his sword and advisor and give him an heir (though perhaps in himself rather than through being a consort and birthing heirs ?). So yes, actually I see what he means about Daemon and it's something I've never considered before although I have always thought power is more important to him that Rhaenyra... but is it more important to him than Viserys? No, from what we've seen. Honestly I do think if Daemon had been born a woman but had still been very much Daemon in every other way then he would've probably been happier with his position, assuming he was allowed to be a Visenya-type of queen - I think Baelon as a father would have indulged that though, given the type of woman he married; Alyssa was much more a Visenya than a Rhaenys too.

Being born a second son definitely pushed Daemon further from power and further from his brother than if he'd been born a daughter, and likely married off to Viserys, and those are the things he desperately seeks; proximity to power and Viserys approval and love.

The comment about Rhaenyra being an extension of Viserys is funny because I just made a post about Alicent being perceived as an extension of Otto. These poor girls just cant shake off their dads. I don't think any of the men in this show see the women as entire people, (considering how they all certainly assign worths to them based on their claims and their ability to produce children.) So it doesn't surprise me that Daemon would see Rhaenyra as an extension of Viserys rather than as a whole person. Which leads me to believe it wasn't just desire that had him groom Rhaenyra and part of the reason he pursued her, especially after she was named heir, was because if he was her consort Viserys wouldn't be able to send him away anymore. His place would be with her, and her place would be by Viserys side. Of course, when he finally gets Rhaenyra he's been burnt so many times by Viserys that he's all but given up, as we see in his conversations with Laena, so he's happy to disappear of to dragonstone and try to use Rhaenyra to fill the Viserys-shaped hole. I think his misogyny will make him struggle to see Rhaenyra as a ruler, to see her making decisions, especially ones he disagrees with. He's going to realise she isn't Viserys, and he doesn't feel the same watching her rule as he felt watching Viserys rule, for whatever reason.

Ngl I know Ryan said it isn't sexual, and maybe it isn't at the point we meet them in hotd, but... it's not crazy to me that Daemon might have loved his brother that way when they were young, even if Daemon never fully understood those feelings. They are Targayens, and Daemon did have scenes that were cut of him having an interest in men. He certainly acts in ways to get his attention that speak to an obsessive level of love that often walks hand in hand with his approach to sexual interest. And I know he hates Alicent because he sees her as an extension of her father, but there could be another element to it. It could be partly jealousy, even if it's just over the place she has at Viserys side, rather than the fact she shares his bed...

But yeah... a lot to think about.

PLEASE I love this! Urgh anon I feel you, I really do😭 as maddenning as the whole thing is though I do think that the simple answer is that Matty is a drug addict (per his own words, he has straight up said it) and drug addicts tend to impulsively search for temporary highs in different forms, often without being aware that that's what they're doing. Tbf Matty has also said that he's now clean from the heroin and stuff but Taylor does sing about him buying pills and being stoned so🤷🏻‍♀️ And anyways, even if a drug addict is in recovery they're still bound to have erratic behaviours and/or withdrawal symptoms and I legit think that's a big part of why this man is the mess he is. Like he would be messy anyways but with the drugs he just stands no chance and so he ends up hurting the people around him a lot without meaning to.

I did have a phase there in 2022 where I was very into the 1975 and Matty specifically as in, I wanted to fuck him and yes that is so deeply embarrassing for my life and for my soul I know ☠️☠️ but besties we'd just come out of a global pandemic that'd nearly done me in literally like I really almost ended it all so I wasn't exactly ok and I did a bunch of messy questionable stuff that year and yes had a crush on Matty bc I was fresh out the slammer (as in the pandemic lol). When it was confirmed in May that Taylor was in fact hooking up with him I joked with Nat that she went ahead and fucked him for me💀😭 but that was all before the man outed himself as an avid enjoyer of deranged misogynistic racist porn and before he said the racist ass shit about Ice Spice. No crush of mine has ever been so quickly and effectively extinguished as that one was, the moment I knew about that he was suddenly the most disgusting and unappealing human ever to me🤷🏻‍♀️ ngl kinda wish my irl crush that I've been pining after for years would do something repulsive like that and kill the crush once and for all lol. Chapter 1058: Suffering from Success

I will never get tired of crew shenanigans. We haven’t had enough of that post-timeskip. Hell, the crew has been split up for a good chunk of the story lately. So this chapter was a delight.

Nami locked Luffy, a newly minted Emperor, in a cage because he let Kid goad him into doing something stupid. 

Poor Jinbei; he hasn’t actually spent that much time with the crew yet, so he’s not familiar with all the dynamics yet. The Conqueror’s Haki joke is *chef’s kiss*

As is Franky’s new hairstyle.

And finally we get the rest of the Straw Hat bounties.

Poor Chopper. The Marines still consider him the pet of the crew. Now I wonder what Bepo’s bounty is.

Remember when Nami needed 100 million berries to buy back her village from Arlong? She’s now worth more than three times that. How times have changed.

Like Nami’s, Brook’s bounty is also up 300 millon. Unlike Nami, however, he’s delighted (yohoho).

Franky’s bounty is another 300 million raise. BUT WHY IS FRANKY’S PICTURE THE SUNNY’S FIGUREHEAD? lmao, poor Franky. Bounty gags are always great.

Another 300 million raise for Usopp. Now he’s got the bounty Doflamingo put on him in Dressrosa -- and the God Usopp name is sticking, haha.

This is a massive raise for Robin -- 800 million -- and my queen deserves it. Honestly, I’m surprised it was so low before this considering the threat she presents to the World Government.

Sanji’s up 702 million but is the fourth highest on the crew -- a fact that delights Zoro, whose bounty raise is an oddly specific 780,001,100 berries. Jinbei is the new number three bounty on the crew; his bounty rose 662 million and is completely unaware of why Sanji’s upset, haha.

The former Warlords are sure getting big bounty raises to show why they were meant to be one of the three powers keeping balance with the Marines and Emperors. Jinbei is worth 1.1 billion, Law 3 billion...

Crocodile 1.96 billion (NGL, I’m excited to see Crocodile becoming relevant again; I was kind of obsessed with the idea of him and Law meeting in Stampede), Mihawk 3.59 billion (daaaaaamn; and now I’m thinking back to East Blue Zoro challenging this man, lawd)...

And then there’s Buggy.

A higher bounty than Crocodile or the Captain Trio and a new Emperor...

Completely on accident. Buggy continues to suffer from success as he fails his way to the top. 

I laughed. Loudly.

I also like that we’re getting some more characterization for Mihawk here. Before becoming a Warlord, he was known as the Marine Hunter. (Gotta love the inevitable fight between Mihawk and Zoro now being Marine Hunter vs. Pirate Hunter).

Mihawk is very relatable. Dude just wants to sip wine and be left alone. I feel this on a deep level.

Also, I find it interesting that these two are on a somewhat friendly basis.

So they’re going to let Buggy have all the attention while they work behind the scenes. It’s Baroque Works for the New World.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionaries are still reeling from the events of Reverie, and then Sabo calls.

So, of course there is a break next week before we get the juicy deets!

Overall, great chapter. Felt like classic One Piece.

It was no surprise that Narinder's most loyal servants were also welcomed into the cult. Even though their master is no longer of godhood status, they would still remain by his side. Forever and always.

Or at least..that was the case for Aym and Baal for a short time. The Lamb mentioned Forenus' story to Narinder and, perhaps out of guilt, he decided to relieve them of their duties, letting the brothers reunite with their mother at last. Of course, they would still come by the cult if called upon.

The only one who made a home within this land was you, a much higher-ranking official bestowed with great powers. You still had those even now.

Yet you weren't all that intimidating compared to the other two. Heck, you didn't even want to fight Lamb when they refused to surrender the crown. But you stayed only to heal Aym and Baal after the battle. They were mortally wounded, though it was nothing you couldn’t fix.

As you’re arranging a flower crown made from camilia in the dead of night, you think back to that day and how Baal flashed you a slight smile of gratitude. He hadn’t smiled in centuries--yet it charmed you and made your heart skip beats.

Within Narinder’s realm, you were the one who always kept their spirits up with gifts and games of knucklebones. Even now you never stopped.

This gift in particular was for someone who adored these flowers. A guardian of death who found comfort in life.

So once you were finished, you looked around and didn’t see Lamb; Narinder was sound asleep in his shelter, so you decided to warp to Forenus’ home and visit the brothers. It took a lot of energy in the mortal realm, but it was worth it.

Upon arrival you immediately saw Baal cooking meat by the fireplace by himself and beamed. “Greetings, Baal!”

Despite your peppiness, tiredness was also creeping into you. Though you were eager to spend this moment alone with him. He was a bit of a night owl--or cat, rather--himself.

He looked to you with a light smile, seeing you sit beside him on the grassy ground. “Hello, [y/n]. What brings you here tonight? It's awful late."

“I come with yet another gift.” You presented the flower crown to him. “A crown of camilia. I know you always loved these flowers.”

“Indeed, I do.” Bowing his head slightly, he gave you permission to set it on top. You made sure his ears wouldn’t be flattened. And once it was on, he reached a paw up to touch it. “My thanks. Mother has vases of these everywhere. I don’t know how she got them, but..I’m glad she’s still safe.”

“I am, too.” You nodded. “You know, Lea--the Lamb could always fetch some for her. Did you know they picked some for Narinder when he first arrived in the cult? He was talking about Leshy and...I think he misses him a little bit.”

“That disgusting worm?” Baal lightly scoffed at the idea of his master mourning the people who betrayed him. Though he sighed and focused his attention to the ground, drawing circles in the dirt with his claw. “Hmph, Master has told us many stories of him..the worm was chaotic, his realm unruly and overgrown. But in it he created beauty...”

You listened to his rambles of Darkwood. It wasn’t long before the exhaustion of working many days and nights finally caught up to you. The fire in front of you two was like a comforting blanket, wrapping you up in its warmth.

Not to mention Baal’s voice was quite calming. You've known him for ages...yet you never got bored of listening to him.

He momentarily stopped speaking, blinking as he watched you lay down in the grass, curling up. ‘Did they..doze off in the middle of our talk?’ He pondered, though he could see that you indeed fell asleep.

One wouldn’t dare shut their eyes in Darkwood, especially with Narinder-knows-what lurking in the surrounding trees and the cultists going ballistic after the fall of their savior.

And to slumber next to him? This was most odd.

It was like...you trusted him to keep you safe.

All this time, Baal thought that pushing you away when you begged them not to hurt the Lamb was going to ruin your bond with him. He thought you only healed him and Aym as a favor from Narinder. He thought all the days you spent in your shelther were just you ignoring them both.

But as it turns out, it’s quite the opposite. 

You’re still happy. You’re still thriving. Your toils birthed beautiful creations such as the flower crown atop his head.

And as Baal stroked the blood-red petals with such tenderness, his smile grew once more.

Look, I really love seeing people big-brained enough to actually write detailed meta about little fictional guys they love. My own brain only produces vaguely animalistic sounds when I behold my faves instead of putting shit into words.

There's also folks out there who interpret characters differently (dare I say wrongly), and here's where I'm starting to get weird vibes from some of y'all ngl.

I looked forward to putting out each post and running to the tags to read you and @baronessblixen and @dd-is-my-guiltypleasure comments (all of which I treasure); and I'd even include sections or points I thought would be particularly interesting for the three of you to come across organically as you read. ;)))

The support behind my first "Musical" X-Files episode edit was so kind that I pop them open to reread occasionally; and it was @baronessblixen's enthusiasm for the section where Scully walks in and the music softly changes that gave me the extra push to work on the next one--TINH: Scully's Solo-- which I believe is my favorite despite its inadequate lip sync at times (that song gets me every time.) Not to mention she and @demon-fetal-harvest left the first two (of three) comments that still make me tear up, mainly because it was such a rewarding moment for an editingfoggytiger.

I've already said every single comment on "Son of Egypt" because it was my first fic and everyone I tagged piled on and left something so, so wonderful in the reblogs; but ALSO every single comment on "The Dead Are Everywhere, Scully". The first fic was a shoot-from-the-hip, the second was more "planned"; and I couldn't be more awed and thrilled that both were so well-received.

Specific fic moments that meant a lot (because I'll do an overview sometime before the New Year, I've just decided): @baronessblixen loving the banter in my longer, bantery fics ("Time Passing in Moments" and "Something Approaching a Normal Life" and "I Think He's a Hard Kid to Love"), which is my favorite style to write; @agent-troi crying a little over "The Dead Are Everywhere, Scully", and tagging "naughty naughty puffball" (which I quote in unhealthy doses) on my AU Queequeg fic ("Regardless of His Actions Last Night"); @amplifyme's poignant encouragement as I flexed my writing muscle (and that my Krycek fic was one of her reblogs~); @perpetually-weirdening and @baronessblixen enjoying the comedy I didn't know I'd written into "How Much You're Like Ahab"; @nachosncheezies's tags on "My Religious Convictions Are Hardly the Issue Here" making me feel like a peacock; and @xxsksxxx and @tossingmyglossymane and @stephy-gold and @wexleresque (and agent-troi and you!) enjoying how all their prompts turned out~. (And every single comment on “Kids Today, Huh?” because it was out of my canon wheelhouse and I worked hard to maintain their more mature relationship while sidestepping IWTB and Revival requirements.)

And I just wrapped up Eight Nights of Mulder-- my second fic event (and first personally created event! with friends!)-- with fics I'd written the previous month; and, though their style was a bit wonky for my norm (weird writer things that happen), they turned out alright, I think. The comments on Day 2 (and the not-Hanukkah wedding swan getting broken) were a highlight, ngl. ;)))
