Woahhhh that’s actually super cool! I remember telling people I went to kindergarten in Libya and they’d give me a shocked pikachu face😂. Tho that was rlly old and I can’t remember much of it (memory loss things ✨), but wow! Was it difficult to keep readjusting? Personally I was the “shy quiet innocent kid” loll. sorry it's taken me a while to answer i've been really sick and just finally overcame the worst of it so here i go!!

generally when it comes to who i follow my interests are split between stuff like art, photography, literature, fashion, etc vs fandom stuff! i also tend to look for thoughtfully curated blogs-- i don't mind having a slow dash, as long as i'm consistently getting interesting content.

@bebemoon - fashion blog with some vintage vibes and poetry/literature. they have a truly impressive eye for curating and creating looks from a wide variety of eras + collections; their creativity is stunning and rare in a sea of fashion blogs that just post photosets of runway looks. they also have a very refreshing awareness and careful avoidance of rose-tinted nostalgia that many vintage-type blogs seem to have; all-in-all, dreamy but still conscious and down-to-earth. funny story, i've actually ended up buying something bc i saw it in one of their lookbooks and found it really cheap secondhand!

@wondersmith-and-sons - an assortment of fandoms and topics; i find her media analyses to be interesting even if they're in regards to media i'm not very familiar with. it's hard to describe in a short little paragraph, but just scroll through her blog and you'll see what i mean-- she's one of those people whose words carry a deep, almost reassuring gravitas.

@lantern-academia - despite so many of my interests lying in the "academic" sphere, i tend to avoid most studyblrs/academia blogs bc i find many of them to be classist and ableist. this one is an exception; tabby is thoughtful and concise, and her blog is still very accessible, never condescending in the way so many academics are. her writing is also v refreshing, and she's one of very few people who engages in discourse in such a way that isn't exhausting to read-- which is saying something for this hell site lmfao!!

as for more fandom-verse or just aesthetic blogs, or blogs that i like for simpler reasons lol:

@lunian - mostly legend of zelda, some miraculous ladybug, really awesome art and just the most creative AU's? her art and ideas are stunning for real go look at them

So I’ve seen a lot of content about miraculous ladybug on tiktok has this weird thing about “miraculous is NOT a kids show bc it has innuendos, etc.” And I feel the need to address this about these types of shows because... yes it is. It’s a kids show.

And while I don’t like to use the term “kids show” because I find it very restrictive and shows a lack of understand and respect to the medium of animation as a whole, but for the purposes of this topic, these type of shows are “kids shows”, meaning the targeted demographic is children. And for the example of Miraculous, it’s a good kids show. A lot of kids shows have innuendos and serious themes, and while some of them may be coated as more fun than serious, they still have those things. But they’re still kids shows.

You don’t need to convince people it’s not for the sake of seeming immature. You don’t need to watch it “ironically” or claim that “yeah it’s kind of cringe but it’s fun” or whatever it is. The fact that people watch things ironically or feel the need to agree that’s it’s bad shows how (dare I say) immature those people actually are. With anything you like, if you need to reassure others that you know a thing you like is “bad”, you’re not as mature as you think you are. Like C.S. Lewis said, “To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. ... some of these are pretty basic/common but most of these are ones that i either made up just now on the spot or that i have been planning to use in fics that i may or may not ever write so this is your EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW lmao

they use a messaging app that hides their phone numbers to protect chat’s identity. he’s saved her as “princess.” she’s saved him as “kitty.”

he brings her a pink rose every time he visits because he gets them with every meal at nome and he’s like “well it’ll go to waste otherwise and marinette’s favorite color is pink sooooo...” and now she has a whole vase full of them in her room

the first time she invited him into her room he immediately went bright red and was like, “uhhhh i know i may come off as, ah, roguish? but i am REALLY not the climb-in-through-a-girl’s-window-in-the-middle-of-the-night type” and then marinette gets all blushy and awkward too and is waving her hands desperately going, “noooo that’s not what I meant at all!!” and he’s like “i know but it just doesn’t seem,,,,very gentlemanly sakjfalsd” and they’re both just blushing profusely and not making eye contact for like 4 minutes until chat mumbles, “i better go” and vaults away. plagg makes fun of him mercilessly when he gets home.

sometimes they have video game tournaments, which marinette always wins, but chat always brings up the ONE time he beat her (because she fell asleep while they were playing)

they also have movie marathons. sometimes they watch the animated ladybug movie and chat always makes fun of the chat noir voice actor and marinette’s like “stop! adrien did a good job!” and chat’s like “no he didn’t i sound NOTHING like that and honestly im personally offended by this atrocious performance” (because he secretly likes hearing her defend him hehehe)

they have a secret knock for the skylight even though it’s totally unnecessary because it’s not like anyone else is ever at her window lol

sometimes he takes her out onto different rooftops just so they can enjoy the view together and talk with a change of scenery

marinette has a hidden photo album on her phone full of all the dumb selfies they take together

since marinette doesn’t know chat’s birthday, she’ll sometimes randomly given him a present for his “maybe birthday.” always something homemade and thoughtful.

one time she gives him a lucky charm like the one she gave adrien “because ladybug shouldn’t be the only one with a lucky charm! :)” chat is just overwhelmed by how thoughtful it is and he’s thinking “NOW I HAVE TWO 🥺🥺🥺” but this one’s even more special because she designed it specifically for him

she’s embarrassed to show him at first but she made a matching one for herself and that is the story of how marinette and chat noir have matching BFF charm bracelets

chat ADORES his but he can never wear it as adrien because marinette would recognize it and he can’t really wear it as a bracelet when he’s suited up bc of his weird cuff things so he hangs it from his belt instead

maybe, because it’s so important to him, and because we know that the magic of the miraculous creates a costume based on what the wearer subconsciously wants, the lucky charm becomes part of the costume. as in, whenever he’s transformed it’s already there. so that way he always has his adrien lucky charm when he’s adrien and always has his chat lucky charm when he’s chat. purrhaps :3

they get andre’s ice cream and it’s chocolate and strawberry with chocolate ears 🥺 (that’s what we decided right? haha)

the more they get to know each other the more they notice little specific things about each other.

for example, marinette notices how chat’s jokes are so stupid but they always make her smile. How even though his eyes look like a cat’s they’re also so expressive and human. His soft smile. The way his hair bounces when he shakes his head. The way he cocks his head when he’s listening. They way his voice almost sounds like a purr when he’s sleepy. how beneath all the ridiculous bravado he puts on, he’s really sweet and pretty modest. how he’s so energetic and a ton of fun to be around, but deep down he’s lonely and sad and sometimes it leaks through. how he’s the most loyal person she knows and she knows he’d do anything for her—not just as ladybug but as marinette too.

Chat notices how marinette bounces up and down when she’s excited. how she scrunches her nose up when she’s concentrating. how her bangs swoosh whenever she moves. how she’s so expressive with her face and voice and hand movements (and he loves listening to her talk). how she’s actually really cheeky and confident and can effortlessly deflect a joke right back to him. how she can figure out any puzzle she puts her mind to. how she’s even more crazy talented than he realized with designing and drawing. how she’s happy-go-lucky but also stressed and tired and worried, with a weight on her shoulders he can’t quite figure out. how she puts SO much effort into making the people she loves happy, including him—not just as adrien but as chat noir too.

sometimes they both feel a little guilty because they know more about the other person than they should and they have to pretend like they don’t know each other as well in their other personas. marinette knows that chat’s favorite color is orange, but ladybug doesn’t. chat knows that marinette hates tomatoes, but adrien doesn’t. they have to be careful not to let anything slip that they shouldn’t know and sometimes it stresses them out and they wonder if getting this close and blending the two sides of their lives together was a good idea after all. but they always arrive back at the conclusion that their friendship is one of the best things they have and they wouldn’t trade it for anything.

one night they’re on the balcony just sitting in comfortable silence. she’s leaning her head on his shoulder. “marinette,” he whispers, “I think you’re my best friend.” she doesn’t answer for a while. he thinks she’s fallen asleep. but then ... “I think you’re my best friend too.” and then, after a pause, “don’t tell alya.”

yes it’s been a fucking while, and i apologize. to say i’ve been busy for the past 4 months would be an understatement. i’ll bring y’all up to speed real quick. and please forgive the spelling errors, it’s currently 3am.

june - pride month baby <3 got my second covid shot, it was hell. i went and visited my sister in georgia and it was amazing. i always forget how much i love her, considering she’s my best friend. spoke to my mom about moving to georgia(we’d been talking about it before), and she said she didn’t know. a little bit tough considering that we would have to know before the end of summer. hung out with my sister. we both caught each other up to speed with our trauma. it was a fun bonding moment. got hooked on wattpad. i’d prefer not to discuss the details if it’s okay with you.

july - pride month over :( i went back to california(where i lived), talked to my mom about moving, again. got a non-response, again. asked her about he multiple men she was seeing. she denied it, again. towards the end of the month, my mother finally decided that we could move. so i had to register my self for school because my mother is incapable of being an actual mother for one fucking second. started packing up the house and saying goodbye to my friends. it wasn’t as hard as you’d think.

august - moved to georgia two days before school started. it was stressful. lived at my not step-dad’s house for a while until my mom decided to show up. made some new friends. pretended to miss my old ones. rocked some pretty fan-fucking-tastic outfits to school. cried everyday at school for a week over fucking geometry. moved to a different geometry class and decided that my new teacher might be a pedophile, still uncertain. unpacked like two things. determined that my house may be haunted, even though i don’t believe in ghosts. my cats were loud as fuck all the time, which was fun to try and sleep through.

september - still haven’t unpacked. still iffy on the friends department, but we’ve made progress. became a teacher’s pet on accident in first period. decided that my geometry teacher is totally a perv. found out that my ap teacher is hilarious. my theatre teacher is pregnant(congrats but also ew children). got asked to homecoming and turned him down(he’s just not my type, ahem women). made a few more friends towards the end of the month. had two periods, idk what’s going on with that. it was my mom’s birthday, happy birthday ig. got stressed over my mother’s lack of mothering.

october thus far - got a dress for homecoming(it’s on saturday, i’ll update y’all hopefully). befriended my sister’s friends, they’re really funny. decided that my house it totally haunted. my dad’s in town, which totally isn’t stressful in the slightest. considered suicide a little bit, but nothing too bad. read a real sad book. and another. the second made me consider suicide some more. decided that i’d really fucking love to move out and i hate being a minor. still haven’t unpacked. and now i’m writing this nonsense.

all in all it’s been very tiring and now i wanna cry all the time. i’ll write to y’all later, hopefully, although who knows anymore.

So, I've binge watched all of what's on Netflix for Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir the last couple of weeks, and let me just say it is such a fun and adorable show! I love shows like this in that Sailor Moon vein - beings me right back to my childhood. And it is so charming and the animation is so pretty! Also, I am very invested in the story and interested to see where it goes next. I love when shows have morally gray villains where you are compelled to sympathize with them. But now I have to wait for new seasons D:

Spoilers and ramblings below!

My favorite episode has to be Cat Blanc. It is really well done, and sets us up for the emotional angst to come when everything inevitably gets revealed for real. I love the voice acting in it - was very powerful. Also I mentioned above about sympathizing with thr villains, but wow. This episode Gabriel made it very difficult. Like when they started telling us his motivations in the past few episodes, I felt sad for him. But I think it doesn't matter - he basically uses his son's popularity as a shield to hide his villainy. And he also was willing to put his son in danger multiple times using Lila so he could get what he wants. Like I don't think Gabriel is like this only because of losing his wife. I feel like he already was a stick in the mud bad parent or absent parent before she was gone. It seems like he has always been after power and control, and the way he behaves with Adrien shows this. Even if his wife was alive, I get the feeling he would still be the uppity rich dad who only wants his son to hang out with like his business partners and not common folk type of guy. So yeah, I sympathize that he wants his wife back, but he is a terrible person and father. Which is why Cat Blanc episode is so good, because it truly shows how hurt and devastating and dangerous the truth would be to Adrien - his own father has put him in danger and his friends in danger just to get his mom back. And Adrien is even moving on a bit, even willing to accept the possibility that his dad and Natalie are together, but of course, Gabriel is upset at the very thought since everything he is doing is for bringing his wife back.

It does make me wonder though - I never understood- if Ladybug and Cat Noir reveal their identities to each other, they'd have to give up their Miraculous per the rules or whatever. But in Cat Blanc, they know each other's identities and still get to transform. It is only after Hawk Moth reveals himself and finds out their identities that things go downhill.

I just love how dark the episode went. Cat Blanc's design is basically a palette swap, but it somehow works so well! The normally funny and peppy Cat Noir is now unsettling and cold. I really like his look as Cat Blanc. Some other poster said that what if his design wasn't simply because on akumatization, but what he would actually look like in like a final form. It has been stated many times that Plagg is very powerful. I think that is a really neat concept and makes me wonder what LB's final form would look like.

I had to rewatch the episode because the 1st time I missed so many details because I was so shook lol I watched it in English first, then rewatched in French because why not.

Ohh what really unsettled me was when Bunnyx is trying to see what caused everything to happen, you see that Marinette as LB drops off the present, Adrien sees her, and then Marinette comes out but her hair is down. I dont know, but her with her hair down there was very unsettling to me. I was reading that it may have been to show that she was symbolically letting her hair down like she finally said what she was hiding for so long. But the transition initially made me think it was someone else. But actually, it was good they did that, because it separated the present day LB from this messed up LB timeline with the visual change.

And it is a good set up for the later episode which I forgot the name of where Marinette, Adrien, and Kagami are hanging out together and Kagami loosens Marinette's hair in the ball pit and Adrien says it is the first time he has seen her with her hair down. Which reinforces that LB did save the timeline and world from destruction. You know what would have been interesting though, if he had said he had seen her with her hair down before but couldn't remember anything else. Bc we would then get some kind of Inception like scenario where oh no she didn't truly fix the timeliness! LOL I know thr show isn't going to go in that direction but it is fun to play with the ideas. This show has really been a creative inspiration for me, like I've felt more creatively charged to make things lol.

Anyway! I have seen all eps on Netflix plus the Christmas special. I think there were some additional specials that were only aired on D+? I'll have to find those too (I do have D+ so I'll see if they are on there.)

I'm excited to see where thr show goes! But honestly I don't know what can top Cat Blanc as an episode for me. I feel like it was even more intense and exciting than what the actual reveal might be - I kind of wonder with the pacing though - like if they revealed all of everyone's motivations straight up in the one episode, how is the true reveal going to play out? The only thing that hasn't been revealed at this point is what actually happened with Adrien's mom. Many people have already speculated that she was thr original Peacock miraculous holder which makes sense. But now got to know what were Gabriel and Emilie doing back then? And if Adrien's mom has only been gone a year, then Adrien got to spend a good amount of time knowing his mom, meaning that she was doing secret miraculous stuff before Adrien became Cat Noir potentially.

Also! Now knowing that Emilie has a twin Amelie who is definitely not a good person, I have to wonder what their family dynamic was like when Emilie was alive.

I feel like Gabriel was still a strict and distant father even when Emilie was alive. Sorry but with everything he has done, even though I can sympathize based on what we currently know, he is a horrible father and person hurting innocent people for his selfish wish. Like if Emilie was a good person and had a say in this, I doubt she would want this.

here’s a quick summary

Humans hunt vampires and they’re often outcased/killed, although there’s been more recently since they’re learning from a young age to disguise themselves and can now hide their teeth.

also there's a couple types of vampires: some who melt in sun but have wings and can eat normal diets and those who don’t melt in sun, don’t have wings and need a little bit of blood in their diets (but it can be from like,, animals. It doesn’t have to be humans)

the vampires who melt in the sun (ILL CALL EM MELTY BOYS) are super rare so unless stated otherwise, whenever i say “X is a vampire” i'm referring to the not melty ones with no wings

setting/time/almost everything is the same. They are just. Vampires. (THEY LOOK DIFFERENTS TOO SFBDJHG)

- his dad would kill him for being a vampire because then his son wouldn’t be perfect and that’s not good enough

- felix figures out he’s a vampire but doesn’t tell anyone

- felix isn’t a fan of vampires but respects his cousin and keeps his secret

- hiding his wings is so annoying like??? He wraps them around his body and wears a cap all the time is the WORST

- also same thing as lb he can go in the sun for about a minute as chat noir before he begins to melt

- again i can go into more detail about chat noir/ladybug and marinette/adrien but im trying to keep this kinda short

- CHLOE OH GOD chloe is so scared

- don’t get me wrong she still is mean and petty but she’s really scared someone will find out shes a vampire

- BUT ITS ALIX AND SHES ALSO A VAMPIRE LMAO

- alix is super chill with chloe and is like “hey man i know ur a vampire but i am too”

- after this they both end up getting feeling for each other lol

- THEY BE DATING but that’s a secret

- chloe’s mom knows she’s a vampire because she saw her fangs when she was born which is part of the reason she doesn’t like chloe

- in this au audrey never warms up to chloe instead chloe learns to not give a shit about what her mom thinks (with the help of marinette and ladybug) and tells her off before her mom leaves for new york

- her mom still keeps the fact that chloe’s a vampire a secret from everyone tho

- cause outing someone as a vampire is actually so low that even thought like yeah,, not everyone likes vampires but like no one’s gonna like u either bc you outed them on something so personal and something they trusted you with

- sabrina doesn’t care if chloe’s a vampire she still really cares about her

- but sabrina wouldn’t like it if anyone else was a vampire

- also another thing about chloe she tends to act like she hates vampires to avoid detecting from the Vamp Police 

- ig the vamp police is like sabrina’s dad who really hates vampires and actively looks for them (which is part of the reason sabrina isn’t a big fan of vampires either.)

- they’re not called the vamp police it’s just the police but i like saying that

- like i said before alix is Vampire and basically learns who’s a vampire in the class super quickly

- she knows what to look for when someone’s hiding their identity and knows she’s not the only vampire in the class

- she also figures out everyone’s super hero identities (which is why she gets the rabbit miraculous)

- max knows from stats that it’s likely that there's a couple people in the class who are vampires

- KIM DIDN’T ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT A VAMPIRE WAS BECAUSE HIS FAMILY THOUGHT IT WOULD SCARE HIM SO THEY NEVER TOLD HIM LMAO

- max had to teach him (with the help of alix) what a vampire was but it took like an hour

- the only reason kim actually learned something is because his boyfriend told him that if he paid super close attention (after running through the whole presentation like 3 times) he would give him a smooch

- after that kim grew a big brain and learned everything

- both of their parents and ondine would be super accepting if they were vampires tho

- but they’re both human

- also a little more lore its not biological if you’re a vampire or not it’s purely chance

- Its kinda like being born lgbt ig

- ALSO EVERYONE IS SOME FORM OF LGBT but i have my own hc for that

- lgbt vampires are incredibly oppressed like they can’t go out into the street *pensive*

- ANYWAYS juleka is a melty vampire and rose is a human

- rose’s family is super into hunting vampires 

- rose invited her gf over for a family dinner and the whole time they talked about killing vampires

- lady wifi doesn’t manage to rip of either lb’s mask for her fake teeth because the costume change also adds fake human teeth to replace the real ones (and you can’t take them off like the mask)

- but lady wifi doesn’t know this so she assumes lb’s not a vampire which she’s disappointed with but alya doesn’t remember this

- BUT the media and chat noir think that she’s not a vampire

- reflekta’s design is a little different but that’s about it

- The change with lady wifi is the only akuma i can think about rn but if i do more headcanons about this i might go more into detail on stuff like that

- CHAT BLANC IS ALSO DIFFERENT

- the build up to the akumatisation is basically the same but adrien realises that lb is marinette and also a melty vampire cause he she’s her melt a little when she leaves the room

- after marinette breaks up with adrien he runs in and transforms 

- after the reveal of adrien’s mom and stuff adrien reveals his wings and tries to kill is dad

- gabriel is disgusted by his son and tells him how disappointed his mother would be

- then chat gets akumatized and stuff

- instead of hitting the moon he’d hit the sun so that he didn’t need to struggle with being a vampire anymore

- he sucks the life out of hawkmoth and claims that he and lb can be together now that there’s no daylight but she says she can live like this which is when he kills her and goes on a murder spree

- then he just sits atop the eiffel tower in complete darkness until past lb shows up with bunnyx and she fixes everything

- his motives are more about disappointing his mother this time and being ashamed about being a vampire

- and also that his wish would be to make it so nobody is a vampire so people wouldn't have to feel ashamed about their identity and hide it all the time

- lb teaches him to love himself and his identity as a vampire and how proud his mother would’ve been of him

- ok enough about chat blanc 

- lila is a human and she acts like she loves vampires 

- but she actually hates them
