~ she then took you to play her chess game, and you won a round, while ningguang won a round as well

~ after, you sat down for some tea, and she gave you your presents and gave you a furbished room that is your room for whenever you're in liyue

~ whenever someone threw a flower at her, she always gave it to you, with a kiss planted on the flower for good luck for both of you.

~ after the performance, the audience cheered, but you cheered the loudest at yun jin. she was your girlfriend, after all. but she was the best performer in the show.

~ you both then went to grab tea and sit down at the harbor to watch the moonlight

~ you bought tiger fish to eat as you two watched the children play, the loyal residents of liyue do their work, and the calm breeze.

“Good morning [name]!” Noelle said as you walked into the knights headquarters, about to start a tiring day at work. You only smiled, but something was… off. Noelle has been your closest friend in the knights, and while she��s not always the best with social cues, she knows what that smile meant, and she knew it was sad. “Oh dear… what’s wrong?” Noelle asked sympathetically. Her kindness warmed your heart, as she wrapped an arm around you guiding you to your office where you two could talk in private.

After telling her everything, how much you loved your pet, how much it hurt to put them down, noelle had this sad look on her face, as if she may cry. Noelle is a extremely sympathetic, and emotional person, but it was comforting seeing someone who cared so much about others, and their feelings. Noelle left your office for a minute, saying she had to go grab something.

You thought this would be a good time to start work, since you had no idea how long she would take… that was a bad idea by the way. Noelle came back, with two plates full of pancakes, specially made by her. She set the massive plate down in front of you saying, “making, and eating food always helps me feel better.” Her sympathetic smile made you feel warm and fluffy. “Baby?” Someone lightly shakes your shoulder, but you only groan in response, clutching at the covers and pulling them further up your body. 

“Wake up, sleepy head,” the voice says, a bit louder this time, laced with amusement. When they rub at your shoulder, hard enough to rouse you but still gentle, you lazily open an eye, revealing Satoru, sitting on the side of the bed. 

The blinds are pulled open behind him, early morning sunlight pouring in, highlighting the edges of his hair. He’s not wearing any eye-coverings, so you get to see him in all his glory, azure eyes set on you. His skin crinkles in the corners as he gives you a soft smile. “How’s my angel?” He asks, leaning down to place a lingering kiss on your forehead, brushing your hair back with a warm hand.

You pout, grumpy that he’s woken you up, but pleased that he’s the first thing you saw when you opened your eyes. “Mornin’,” you say.

“Good morning. ‘Missed you.” Satoru’s hand settles on the side of your face, thumb stroking your skin as he talks. “You’ve been sleeping for too long, there’s only so much you can dream about when all you need is right in front of you, you know.”

Laughing, you sit up, sheets pooling at your waist, and you reach over to envelop him in a cozy hug as a greeting. You feel him sniff your hair, nose at your neck, rub his large palms up and down your back. Slowly, he maneuvers you back down and settles on top of you, making sure to keep half of his weight on the mattress so you’re not crushed. He ends up with his head resting on your chest, his arms wrapped around you, tangled with you and the sheets. His palms are warm, crawling underneath your shirt to feel your bare skin. 

You place your own arms around his shoulders, one of your hands carding through his pillowy hair. You close your eyes as he invades your senses, content to just lay like this. To bask in this morning with him, knowing that you’re here together. That you’ve been granted this luxury, at least for today. 

“Is someone feeling clingy?” You tease. 

He whines, burying further into you. “So mean to me, baby. What did I ever do to deserve this?”

Giggling, you place a kiss on the crown of his head, and you can hear him sigh against you, satisfied with your affection. 

“Love you, ‘Toru,” you say. You mean it more than anything. 

He momentarily brings his face up for a kiss, grinning at you in that lovesick way that does terrible things to your heart. “I love you too,” he responds, then giving you another. 

The two of you lay there, content to love each other, and enjoy this moment.

At this point, Wonwoo reading to you before bed had become a basic routine. You were both bookworms and had interest in the same genre and authors, so it was only natural to turn the activity into more time spent together.

You had been abnormally busy the last couple weeks, coming home late enough that Wonwoo was often asleep by the time you crawled into bed. You had been subconsciously missing the nightly chapter he would read to you, though you hadn’t realized it yet.

Today had been a particularly exhausting day, work being extra stressful and the day seemed to have lasted longer than normal. You were just so tired by the time you walked through the front door, in desperate need of some relaxation and comfort.

Though it was late, you found Wonwoo still awake, tucked under the covers, bedside lamp on to a low setting that provided just enough light to read the words off the page, but not too much to be blinding given how dark it was outside.

You took a minute to admire the sight. Wonwoo’s round glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, fingers already moving to prepare the next page flip though he was only halfway done with the first page of text.

He looked so content sitting there reading, and the sight alone made you feel a bit better at how crappy your day had been. He didn’t seem to notice your presence in the doorway, too invested in the story to look up. You thought it was adorable.

You decided you would join him for some cuddles as soon as you were properly prepared to fall asleep. You quickly grabbed your pyjamas and made your way to the bathroom to change, brush your teeth, do the necessary skincare, etc.

When you emerged from the bathroom, Wonwoo finally looked up from his page, lips curling into a soft smile at the sight of you in your pyjamas, face looking so so tired but still stunningly pretty.

He motioned for you to come join him, opening up the blanket for you to snuggle under, resting your head on his chest, feeling the steady beating of his heart through the thin material of his sleep shirt.

“How was your day, my sweetheart?” He whispered, voice seeming to rumble through his chest where your cheek was pressed, deep and comforting.

“Shitty.” You mumbled back, making him chuckle.

“Want me to read?” He offered, knowing just as well as you how much you loved it. You nodded against his chest, prompting him to start from the beginning.

His voice was soothing, reciting the words off the page, transporting you to another world that was fantastical and filled with life. You closed your eyes, letting your other senses be filled with just Wonwoo. Your hands gently wrapped around his stomach, feeling just how warm he was compared to your body that was still rather chilly. His familiar scent and soothing voice filled your other senses, relaxing you completely.

Wonwoo paused when he heard your soft snores, a smile creeping up on his face naturally. He placed the book on his bedside table along with his glasses, quietly switching the lamp off and closing his eyes, joining you in your blissful dreamland.

It's not that Thomas was an idiot. Far from it; leaps and bounds, in fact. How many times had Noelle looked at him like that, trailed kisses across his forehead and temples like that, all while whispering the most incredible things?

Brilliant, mon amour. Ma cher, trop mignon, extraordinaire.

Her hands were around his waist this morning, her head on the back of his shoulder. She was humming along to the music in her early-voice, the one that rasped the same as the fireplace crackling low in the living room. December had brought heavy snow in the night. Thomas had told her he had never seen a Christmas without it, and she had laughed and kissed him and agreed, curling into his side to fall asleep in soft flannel sheets from her mother's linen cabinet.

The Tremblay house, like its owners, was all kinds of warm.

And Thomas wasn't an idiot, far from it, brilliant and extraordinary, so he had not forgotten the youngest inhabitant (cats not included).

It appeared he may have been an outlier in that sense.

Heavy footsteps creaked on the stairs. "Nolly!"

Noelle made a drowsy noise of acknowledgement against Thomas' bicep as it flexed to bring his coffee cup to his mouth. A burst of French, faster and more smooth than Thomas was accustomed to, followed.

And cut short.

Green eyes flared wide, flicked down to Noelle's arms, and narrowed to slits. Bedhead and the general sleepy comfort of someone home for the holidays greatly diminished any possibility of intimidation, but Thomas didn't think Logan would appreciate it if he started laughing.

Pain flared along the inside of Thomas' cheek where his teeth dug in to force down a grin. Something told him a well-placed well, this is awkward would not be well-received either.

Logan let out a breath through his nose, still silently examining them with quick darts of his gaze. Thomas felt it like an itch, but it was quickly soothed by a nudge of Noelle's forehead on his shoulder and the pass of her thumb along his rib where she held him from behind.

"Did you--" Logan silenced himself with another slow exhale. His thumb tapped the banister knob.

Thomas took another sip of coffee.

Logan's hip bumped the banister. He tilted his head, not unlike the fluffy cat that had peered out at Thomas from behind the couch when he arrived, and nodded.

Slowly, but nodded all the same.

"D'accord," Logan muttered under his breath, turning abruptly to beeline for the hot chocolate cupboard with the familiarity Thomas had so admired in Noelle an hour prior.

He couldn't pass up this opportunity. He just couldn't.

"Merry Christmas!"

The disgruntled whine Logan let out was well worth a playful swat to his hip.

It was really sunny when you woke up, the light shining through the half-open curtains, giving your skin a beautiful glow as well. you sat up in your bed, looking around tiredly. and you were surprised to see Neuvillette still in bed, since he would normally be out of the house by now. but it's not like you were complaining, especially not on his day off. so you quietly snuck out of bed to not wake him, quickly put on a decent outfit and started making breakfast for him.

He eventually did wake up, despite you trying to be quiet, and walked around the house to find you since you weren´t in bed.

He found you in the kitchen, happily dancing around as you made breakfast for you both. the sight made his heart beat in so many ways he couldn´t understand, but he felt warm whenever it happened, so he didn´t give it much thought. although Sigewinne once told him its a sign that he loves you, and so she had to explain to him how that works(she wanted to give up inside a little(poor Sigewinne)).

"Neuvi? Are you ok? you´ve been staring at me for a while now y'know"

He didn´t hear you, too lost in your beauty to comprehend that you were talking to him. you were a little annoyed at being ignored, but quickly brushed it off and tried calling him again, this time with a hand on his cheek,

"Neuvillette love, you there?"

He snapped out of his line of thought the second you touched his cheek, now looking into your eyes. placing his own hand over yours.

"Sorry darling, i was just a little too lost in your beauty for a moment. was there anything you needed?"

You looked into his eyes, thinking for a bit, was there anything you needed right now, you guessed he could help you get the flour from the top capinet.

"yes actually, could you be so kind as to hand me the flour, its for the cake i said i wanted to bake"

You looked at him with the pretties eyes you could manage.

"Sure lovely, I´ll get you anything you need"

You removed your hand from his face and walked over to the bowl of sugar and eggs, to mix them together, before the dry ingredients were put in.

You had been baking all morning, what had Neuvillette been doing you ask, well... you actually don't know. either he was in the kitchen helping(looking at) you or he was out of your line of sight(prob with a melusine).

But now you´re kind of missing his presence, and you were done with most of the pastries you wanted him and the melusines to try(your excuse to see him being cute with them).

So you of course wanted to find him.

But you still needed time to set up what you had planned for his day off, and you asked some melusines to help you carry the lighter things, like a blanket or spoons(not knives or forks, they could hurt themselves). and when they then offered to get him for you, you protested, but they just continued on with "you should relax too you´know, not just him. now sit down and we´ll get him over here." so you obliged.

The main reason you had decided that today would be a great time to have a picnic out on a field of flowers, was because it didn´t seem like there were going to be many, if any, clouds today, so it would be perfect for a picnic(hence why you spent your morning in the kitchen).

When they (totally not forcefully) dragged him over to your prepared date, they could see the visible change it his eyes (though it was already softer than normal, bc melusines) when he looked at you sitting among the flowers. he eventually sat down beside you, kissing your cheek softly and thanking you for doing this just for him.

Eventually, the melusines that helped you set up and stuff left (smiling sweetly at their monsuir [i think i spelled it wrong, im sry] Neuvillette´s sweet interaction with you).

The both of you didn´t even notice and you just continued on with your picnic. you offered him a piece of the cake you baked in the morning, and he happily took it, enjoying the taste of your baking.

(as he should)

He had also looked at you with heart in his eyes(more than he normally did) as you ate your piece of cake, he couldn´t help himself you were too beautiful not to look at too long. It´s not the first time he has looked(stared) at you today either, and it certainly won´t be the last time today. Safe to say he liked having this day with you, a day containing only you (and the occasional Melusine), instead of all the paperwork being the only thing he normally looks at all-day.

He liked anything you did together, it doesn´t matter if it was his or your idea, neither if he liked the thing or not, the thing that mattered was that you wanted to, that you were there with him, and he loves you even more for that.

He loves you more than a diver loves the sea, more than a florist loves flowers, more than anything.

Fluff Headcanons - Spooky gaming with the genshin characters!

Alhaitham

This year, Alhaitham wanted something less conventional. Something that would really engage his mind with interesting commentary about society and the world at large, but still retain some of that spooky vibe. 

Cruelty Squad easily caught his attention with its assaulting graphics and interesting premise. It clearly begged for attention, and he was willing to humor it. 

It was precisely what he was looking for, and what an answer it was. Alhaitham had no trouble adjusting to a more corporate mindset.

Alhaitham: The super AI emerges from an extremely pornographic ultra hyper suck and fuck…

Kaveh: Um… What? What are you talking about?

Alhaitham: You don't understand, Kaveh. Everything that surrounds us? It's Gorbino's Quest. The Gorbino's Quest... of life.

Ganyu

The poor little cinnamon roll isn't that much of a horror fan. Violence and death generally unsettles her, but Ganyu still wants to feel some of that holiday spirit. 

After a lengthy deliberation, Ganyu chose Little Nightmares. The graphics are quite pleasing to the eye, it is horror, but not so horrible and violent. At least that's what she heard.

Ganyu: Oh, look! It's a Nome, right? And it's offering me food… How nice of it! Um… Oh n-no! Why would you d-do that?!

Amber

The great outdoors with a horror theme? Count her in!

Amber made sure to avoid spoilers to have the full, unprecedented The Forest experience. The landscape is so serene and peaceful… The freedom of movement, the sounds of nature and the survival elements are so fun and relaxing!

True, there are some hostile people on the island, but they seem harmless enough.

Until the night falls…

Amber: Wait… What's that? That doesn't look human… Did it just birth out… Ew… Yikes! It's coming at me! 

Suffice to say, Amber stuck around until more or less the moment when you have to chop up bodies and make effigies out of the parts.

Beidou

Alcohol, hard rock and murdering demons with big guns is how Beidou plays on Halloween, so she'll gladly hop on Doom Eternal.

There's nothing better than impaling a snake demon's head with its own broken arm, right as the beat drops. 

Beidou: Life has enough undefeatable horrors. Let's just have some fun tonight!

Ningguang

The old ones are the good ones! Ningguang doesn't play a lot of video games, but she did like a few titles back in her younger days. 

On this special occasion, Ningguang got a box of her old possessions to dig through, and found the original Dungeon Keeper on CD. 

Everything is just as she remembered it was. 

Ningguang: Oh, these imps… They are the perfect workers, aren't they? They don't eat, sleep, need vacation, have a social life, and they work harder when you slap them. Ah, if only I had them as my subordinates…

Keqing: *narrows eyes*

Kokomi

Another fan of the retro side of games, Kokomi enjoys a good tactical challenge - developing the ability to conjure small scale plans is as important as improving the grand ones.

Her pick is Myth II: Soulblighter. It’s a brutal, unforgiving RTS with a distinctively dark atmosphere - just perfect for the season at hand.

Even when Halloween comes to a close, Kokomi will find it hard to drop the game. The insanity that is Legendary is quite addictive indeed…

Kokomi: You here… You here… And now the crescendo!

Game: “Move here move there…”

Game: “Catch!”

Game: *explosion*

Game: “Casualty.”

Kokomi: Oh. Change of plans, I guess…

Yae Miko

Upon hearing of the wonderful possibilities for tormenting the other party, Miko didn't hesitate to bring out the Mora for Dead By Daylight and all of its DLC. 

Though it was quite fun at first, the ugly nature of the game soon surfaced. As none of her friends were brave enough to delve into this swamp, she was forced to join up with random people, who frequently threw the games. 

Such a combination was enough to make even such an ancient and wise kitsune lose her absolute cool.

Ei: Why are you crouching behind that tree, Miko?

Miko: The killer has caught one of my teammates, and I will release them by ambushing them with a flashlight! 

Miko: Come on… Now! You didn't expect that, did y- What?? Lightborn?! Again?! Who even plays it nowadays?! Oh, you daft, blind motherf-

Ei: Miko!

Miko: Oh… Hm. Sorry. I got a little carried away. But that's sooo unfair, isn't it? Why would they add a perk that cancels a whole mechanic? I can't believeitthegameissokillersided…

Xiangling

Xiangling absolutely didn't look forward to Halloween, especially with Hu Tao around. She just can't take horror, at all, of any kind, ever. Especially jumpscares.

She still couldn't believe that she agreed to play a horror game, let alone one suggested by the director. The one and only Five Nights At Freddy's at that.

Much to Hu Tao's amusement, she didn't even make it past Night 1. Xiangling was thoroughly spooked, and after being jumpscared once she completely refused to keep playing. 

Seeing Xiangling so terrified made Guoba very upset, and Hu Tao quickly apologized to avoid being roasted by the angry god. 

Hu Tao: So he killed the kids, but then! Their souls escaped their robot prisons and made an old spring lock suit crush him to death! WoOoo~

Xiangling: Ah! Hu Tao! No more! 

Guoba: Nane na! Grr…

Hu Tao: Oh, don't fret little Guoba! I'm just joking!

Zhongli

Morax always had trouble catching up with the latest cultural and technological trends of the humans. Sure, he can use a computer more than well enough, but he finds third and first person video games confusing. The gameplay is most often too fast and rapidly changing for him to be up to speed with it, let alone enjoy it. 

Throughout all of his exponentially long life, nobody was as persistent in including him in the festivities as Hu Tao. She tried to convince Zhongli to play something horror-related, but he was assertive. So, the director decided to find a game that would suit his liking - an indie title. 

Her pick fell on Water Womb World - it's simple mechanically, is quite disturbing and has an interesting concept. 

Much to her surprise, Zhongli thoroughly enjoyed his fifteen minutes with the game, even if he didn't find it very scary.

Zhongli: Ah, I agree with the message of this title. The blind belief in deities can lead to fanaticism, which breeds regress rather than progress. I do think that a more healthy and critical approach to Rex Lapis' rule would be beneficial to our current day society. Especially that the age of gods draws to an end…

Hu Tao: Aiya! Do you have to turn everything into a lecture, Zhongli? You're not my grandpa, are you?

Hu Tao

An avid enjoyer of the spookfest, Hu Tao decided to pick something hitting closer to home this year - Mortuary Assistant.

The gameplay loop feels great! Just like in her line of work, just without the smell. She's having the time of her life preparing the corpse for burial. And hunting the demon. That's also quite cool!

Hu Tao: *hums while wheeling the corpse into the crematory* 

Game: "Are you sure?"

Hu Tao: Yup! I know your tricks more than well. Aiyaya, you could try something more interesting next round! Furnace time~

Game: *sounds of fire and demonic screaming*

Bennet, Noelle, Fischl, Razor

A few weeks before Halloween, Bennett mentioned a game night, since he couldn't be there in person. Noelle, diligent as ever, picked this up as a cue to start looking for something. 

Luckily for her, Phasmophobia was on a large and affordable discount, so after proposing the idea and organizing a money pool, they all got to proving the existence of ghosts.

Lisa lent Razor her personal computer for the night, on condition that she could take a little peek every now and then at their session without interrupting - and what an amusement it was, as none of them are especially acquainted with horror.

Noelle: "The ghost responds only to people who are alone." Somebody has to go in to talk to it… 

Razor: Razor won't go! Ghost scary!

Bennett: I would go, but with my luck, the ghost will eat me right away…

Fischl: Hmph! Although yes, I, Fischl, The Prinzessin Der Verurteilung and the founder of The Immernatchreich possess the courage to face demons and spawns of darkness alike, I…

Everyone: So you'll go then?

Amy: Um… N-no! You m-misunderstood!

Furina

The Great-And-Grand Archon of Fontaine played and saw every horror game and movie, and never once got scared. Or that's what she claims, at least.

That's why Focalors decided to prove her excellence with a true, dark challenge she could easily overcome, thus proving her gaming capabilities for all to see!

In hindsight, Darkest Dungeon wasn't the best of choices she could have made… It did amuse Monsieur Neuvilette, however. 

Neuvillette: I think you should retreat. Your heroes are close to dying. 

Furina: I appreciate your advice, my dear Iudex, but your worries are misplaced! My Crusader will deal a critical hit, thus ending the pig-man's miserable opposition, and granting us treasure galore! Watch and marvel at my skill!

Game: "A singular strike!"

Furina: Ahaha, see? I told you it would be fine~ Wait… It's not dead yet…?

Game: "Mortality - clarified in a single strike!"

Furina: Um…

Game: "There can be no hope in this hell, no hope at all…"

Shenhe

Shenhe never gets scared. The most terrible of monsters or existential terrors are no match for her training and resolve, no matter how unexpected they might be. She might not get scared, but she can get startled, right?

Who else would pose that question but Hu Tao, the mistress of horrors herself? It was always her objective to get some sort of reaction out of the adepti disciple, no matter how insignificant and small it might be. Many things were attempted - scary movies, troubling situations, body horror, cosmic horror, existential horror… But none of them ever worked. Shenhe remained stalwart.

Out of desperation, Hu Tao was forced to reach for the ultimate weapon. The bane of those unprepared. The myth. The legend. The game.

The Scary Maze Game. 

After plugging in an old spare monitor, she invited Shenhe to “test her precision”, and stepped a few safe meters back. 

The monitor ended up skewered with her polearm, but Shenhe did yelp - much to her delight. 

Not all was fun and games though, as Hu Tao got the mother of all lectures from Cloud Retainer. Something about Shenhe’s red ropes breaking, but the director didn’t pay much attention, and just nodded along.

Hu Tao: Heya, Shenhe… You don’t mind the little scare I gave you back on Halloween night, do you…?

It was smoother than he thought it’d be, dying.

Passing on.

The moment of death.

It really was just like falling asleep.

He knew it was time; he was old now (decrepit if you ask his grandkids) but it was something he didn’t even realize he was so ready to welcome. Whatever illness he was saddled with the last couple years already fading out of his memory.

Stepping into his new…life? he’s not sure what to expect.

He floats along for a while. In nothing, being nothing, when suddenly, the nothing in front of him starts to solidify.

Instead of nothing, Dustin Henderson is a young man again. He can see his feet walking across pine needles and leaves. over hard-packed dirt and pebbles.

He knows this path, and starts forward confidently.

Skull Rock comes into view through a break in the branches, looming over him and coated in dappled sunlight.

So, he sits down. Settles in to wait for his friends, hoping they are far behind him, when he’s startled by a noise above him.

First, a leather jacket plops down in front of him, followed closely by worn white reeboks, ripped black jeans, a flash of a white shirt. All still wrapped around someone he lost way to fuckin’ soon.

Dustin’s chest and throat constrict, his eyes burn.

The figure turns, their insane brown curls frizz tossed away from his face when he does.

“Hey butthead.” Eddie Munson smiles at him for the first time in 70 years. “You have my vest.”

Dustin looks down at himself. The worn denim vest in question is, indeed, hung over his shoulders. Fitting just a bit bigger than he last remembered.

He huffs out a chuckle, the tears start to fall down his cheeks. “Thought you might want it, asshole.”

He’s crushed into a hug that lasts an eternity, finally pulling away from Eddie after a good eon or so.

Huffing out another laugh when he does, Dustin wipes the tears off his face and says, “Not that I’m not over the fuckin moon to see you, but is.. is he here?”

Eddie grins at him, “Is who here?”

“Henderson!”

Steve.

Steve’s here.

He’s actually fucking here.

“‘Course he is, little man. Been waitin’ for you, ya know.'' Eddie shakes his shoulders, spinning him around and starts to march him back down the path. “Well,” he feels Eddie shrug behind him, “You AND Robin, of course. She’s just real stubborn about leaving, I think.”

They’ve gone maybe four whole steps, when Steve Harrington breaks through the branches in front of them.

“Dustin!” Steve strides forward, wrapping Dustin up in a hug.

He mumbles everything and nothing into the tears that soak the cap atop his head. A good trade for the already soaked spot at the front of that yellow sweater of his.

“You’re here! I missed you so much! It’s too soon… it’s always too soon, but still! Your kids are all so beautiful, your grandkids too! I’m so so sorry I left before I could meet them, Dusty, I wanted to so badly.”

More and more (mostly repeated “You’re here!”s) until he can’t say anymore and falls silent around him for their own eternity.

“I missed you too, Steve.”

-so, she started with adding the ingredients with a big smile.

-"honey, do you want more or less sugar?" she asked.

-"hmm... more! make it sweet!" you replied, smiling to yourself.

-"okay!"

-"and by the way, do you like strawberries or cherries more?" you added a question.

-"strawberries!" she answered, taking a glance at you.

Noelle had made a noise of surprise, yes- but there was another when he grabbed her. For a moment, he thought he might have accidentally brushed something he shouldn’t, but his fingers were pointed towards him. The water mage could only freeze, face bright red.

“W-Watch it, Dorksta! And let go of me-hehehe!”

“Oh wow! I didn’t know you were ticklish there!” Asta was smiling, a big cheesy one as he gently pressed into her upper arm once more, making her jump and giggle. “I didn’t know people could be ticklish here!”

“Shuhuuhuht uhuhuhuhp! Gehhheheht ohohohoff me, yoohhoohu jeheheherk!” Noelle tried to pull her arm free, but her footing was far too unsteady on the rough path they walked. “Whahaha! Dohoohohn’t leheheht me gohoohoho!”

“Wasn’t going to. Don’t want you to fall and bust your head open.” Asta smiled as he carefully pulled her along, his hand steady and ever so tickly against her arm as they navigated the path. “Come on- I know the way!”

“Yoohohohour itihihihihikling me on puhuhuhuhurpohohouse!” She accused through her breathless giggles, half of her wanting to shove him away while the other half wanted to lean more into him. Her heart said yes and her nervous system said can’t talk right now, being tickled to tears! “Whahhahahy are yoohohohu squeueueuezing iihihihiht?”

“Hm? Oh, my bad.” Asta lightened his touch, easing some of the tickles as they finally found their footing. “There we are, safe and sound.”

“Ugh, you’re so-!” Noelle was about to say something likely mean, but found herself at a loss of words when his hand slid down to hers, grasping it tightly as he continued walking. “I think the path is fine now..”

“I know.” He didn’t look back, sparing her a witness to her blushing face. His own ears seemed a bit red though.

“Dorksta.” She rolled her eyes, unable to fight the growing smile on her lips.
