Northern Ghost bat

Angry face

Primarily eats moths and apparently likes to sing while doing so. Fuckin superb you funky little ghost bat

Desert long-eared bat

What's he so happy about???

Apparently they get scorpion stings to the face a lot but it's okay because they just don't care and swoop down to eat them whole (stinger and poison sack included) off the ground anyways

So actually he's probably happy about all the scorpion murder he commits

Pallid bat

Ears

Greater false vampire bat

Can apparently eat like anything. Bugs? Yes. Frogs? Yes. Birds? You bet.

Like straight up cannibalizes bats smaller than it.

Kind of a killing machine overall really

Wrinkle faced bats

Ugly but full of love

has a flap of skin they use as a facemask when they nap. Fancy.

Their weird skull structure lets them eat a wider range of food than most other bats. So that's rad.

Frog eating bat.

They eat frogs

Fun at parties. Always brings fun food (frogs)

so while I was messing around and looking at types of bats I found out that ghost bats are a thing :00

This one is a Diclidurus albus or a Northern Ghost bat

And of course I'm going to relate this to my current hyperfixations and comparing this sweet critter to danny :]

Rare with little information available: much like how halfas are usually depicted as being mostly unknown to both humans and those in the infinite realms.

Nocturnal and Solitary: can't exactly make a concrete case here for the dp universe since there's like three halfas and all of them have their own territory/thing going on (danny with amity park, dani travels wherever, vlad is... vlad) plus they aren't necessarily nocturnal, usually they're ever only even out at night for ghost hunting in danny's case so take this as you will

Positive economic importance for Humans: Northern Ghost bats may be important in helping keep agricultural pest populations in check. Sort of like Danny's situation in Amity Park where he keeps the "pests" aka ghosts and ghost hunters in check and overall protects the town, the humans, from danger.

Diclidurus Albus: from the Latin word diclid, or two-valved. Although I've checked multiple latin translations that only said diclid meant "said" or "he said" the word Diclidurus itself is much more interesting, as it translates to "He was about to die" and I think we all know where this fits in.

There's really not much information on them as I've said so please don't treat this as an informational guide on ghost bats. Also I'm not sure where I'm going with this but take this comparison as you will! :]
